  • That was the point IMO. It's tailored to Plague and Legion for good reason.

On Plague, it punishes the Survivors for never cleansing, and thus denying Plague half her power. The developers worked hard on making the Cleansing mechanic, for an interesting "pros vs. cons" power struggle between Plague and Survivors. However, it never got used cause Survivors just ignored being sick. Plague players only ever got to use half her kit most matches. What was the point of even having that mechanic in the game, when it never got used? Sure it's the old story of "The developers changing a perk to band aid fix a flawed mechanic", but it works nicely.

For Legion, it was sorta the opposite. Most Legion players ignored they even had a power half the time, because it was a useless time waste. Sure it made Mending Simulator, but all it did was make the game take longer, without having any meaningful effect for both sides. Legion couldn't down and hook with it, Survivors had to mend. Both sides just ended up wasting time with no progress.

For Plague, it's a way to make Survivors actually deal with everything Plague has to her.

For Legion, it's a reason for Legion to actually use their power and it have meaning.

  • Currently have 1 Million BP saved for Wesker. I'll make sure to have the cap ready for him. I'll spend and replace right after.

Might want to run that through Google Translate again, dude. "Solo queue is absolutely hell to play right now between stacked slowdowns and other survivors reacting to stacked slowdowns" does not equal "I want to bully killers in a 4-man SWF." When it comes to the ######### killer queue times - most survivor players are solos and coordinated bullying was never on the cards.

Really? Cause I'm Gold 1 as solo Survivor and working up to Irri. My matches are : PIP 2/5 matches, Black pip 2/5, and de-pip 1/5. Seems fine to me, the only ones I really de-pip are Survivors who rage quit. Stacked slowdowns don't bother me. Coordinated bullying was always on the cards, didn't have to be 4 man SWF's. Give each solo Survivor enough power, they don't need communication to bully.

How is it overreacting when there has been non stop complaints about certain slow down perks as well as camping and tunneling for a month now? Or when we have very long killer queue times?

If anything, this is an underreaction, they will need to do more if they want to see more stable queue times, which would be great for when the new chapter releases.

Translation : They'll have to give us our bully squad capabilities back if they want stable Survivor player base.

Actually the game only says I won when it says "escaped".

I've escaped with a Black Pip or a De-pip before. What's your excuse for that? Escape is not winning, getting a PIP is winning. Escape is simply your arbitrary demand for "winning" because you want to shove it in the killers face you got away. If escaping was the only thing that mattered, there wouldn't be PIP system in place to begin with. Try Again.

  • I was a solo that used WGLF all the time for points. I also always ran (and still do always run We'll Make It). If I want my points, you can be damn sure i'm going to make sure you get off the hook safely. I have a "Hero Complex", and want to save everyone I can. I don't care if I die in the process, as long as they make it to safety. The BP bonus was a HUGE reason I ran it, and am very annoyed the removed it. Though I still save as often as possible because my primary goal is still making sure everyone else makes it out alive before me.

"Solo Q is ok if you dont care if you die". Wow, so helpful.

Yes, actually. Survivors what Killers to play like this, so I do as Killer. Same with Survivor. I do not care if I live or die as Survivor. I also do not care if I Kill everyone or not as Killer. As long as I get pip and my BP, I'm happy. Everything else after I have gotten my PIP is just gravy. Survivors should really learn a lesson from Killers.

Stop setting arbitrary goals for yourself that demand you faceroll the other side. If the game says you won, you won. Be happy with it.

  • @Marigoria said:

Low effort posts like these shouldnt even be allowed on the forums.

He's not wrong though. Though I suppose Survivors doing Low Effort like suiciding on first hook and rage quitting to protest is "alright".

  • The Killer often looses 3-4 gens in the process. Fair trade.

So survivors have to constantly keep getting better at the game, and you are using that to justify the killer AFKing next to a hook as a strat?

Why does it always seem to be 'Survivors win = Survivors OP, killer wins = survivors bad'?

This is the biggest problem with Survivors today. The can't "See The Forest For The Trees." If one Survivor gets screwed so be it. The other three, at least two, get away. Which is the middle ground if two Escape, less than middle for the Killer if three escape. You absolutely CAN NOT give one Survivor the power to just screw the Killer over. (Even though technically, and Killer camping is screwing himself/herself over. If the Survivors don't play into his/her little game.)

I'm sick to death of Survivors complaining about their 1v1, when they HAVE TEAM MATES. Ya'll always want the best of both worlds, and ONLY when it helps you win.

You should balance at your highest population of survivors, not smurfs or new players. The problem recently is that we don't know what kill rate the developers want.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3103448#Comment_3103448

I am literally over the MMR cap on both sides, I am telling you it's not a good idea to balance this game around competitive SWFs. Literally no one would escape unless they were in a SWF. It would be a different story if this were a game like DOTA or League. But, it isn't, what you want to balance around is your highest population to keep the player base up.

Then you just let the high end SWF stomp killers all day long? who says solo survivors can't hit that level?

  • @Biscuits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3103414#Comment_3103414

If you balance the game around 1% of the player base how is the other 99% suppose to enjoy the game?

Getting better at the game? If you can't have a good time getting your ass kicked by better players, than that's a you problem.

Coming home after a long day at work, and firing up MKX or MK11, then getting smacked around by the likes of Sonic Fox or the #1 Best Shao Khan player in the world was the highlight of my day. It let me know I WAS good enough of a Sub-Zero to get matched with them.

I'm sick of it it Hunt : Showdown where they reward players who can't aim worth a crap. The ones who rely on sitting in a corner with 15 traps at every entrance and exit, camping a corner with a shotgun. I'm sick of the crap players who can't do anything but spam a bunch of bullets and hope RNG carries them.

I'm so sick and tired of everyone trying to celebrate and reward mediocracy. Everyone wanting their "participation trophies", wanting to win when they don't deserve it.

I played 72 people, you think all of them are "brand new survivors"? You think I'd still get "brand new survivors" after winning that many games?

I don't think you realize how many games that is, so here is a little visualization:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/PY47C1BOEWSP/18.png

For context, if I won 72 matches in a row in other games like Chess, my Elo would be the same as the World Champion.

The reality is, those are not "brand new survivors". Those are normal survivors, the majority of people who play the game. On top of it some of them were prestige 10+, had DS, DH, OTR and were good loopers, watch game 8.

72 players, but only 18 matches.

    1. Once again, you started at the bottom of the barrel. So yeah, most of them were brand new.
    2. Second of all, you're relying on Survivors being stupidly altruistic. I guess you think most survivors are this dumb? Cause they aren't in my experience.
    3. Who cares if they had DS, DH, OtR? Just because they are doing stupid plays doesn't mean suddenly we need to give them perks to make up for stupid plays.

Want some proof on my end here you go : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WiZle8FEk-E

I have none of those freebie perks. All I needed was a Flashbang and my own skills to pull this off. By the way, I'm on a winning streak as solo Survivor, and also unlike you I'm not Ash IV to Bronze III at the highest. I'm already Gold IV - Gold III Survivor. I'm plenty sure my MMR is quite high as well.

"Face Camping" (I put in quotations cause real face camping back when the killer could actually block the hook prompt doesn't exist anymore. Though sure, use your buzz words.) That ONLY WORKS when you're facing Survivors who play STUPIDLY or are new. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. All you're proving is BAD SURVIVORS ARE BAD. Which, surprise, isn't a surprise! Maybe, JUST MAYBE, Survivors would do better if they actually tried to SURVIVE. Not decide they want to be stupidly altruistic and just give you freebies cause they have a "Hero Complex".

Truthfully, when I play Survivor I have a "Hero Complex". I do stupid crap all the time to try to save others. It usually works, they get away, but I die half the time because of it. Still doesn't stop me from doing well. I still get my PIP and (on average) 20,000+ BP each match. The difference between me and the fish you're shooting in a barrel, is my plays are more thought out. I also have the skill to pull it off.

    INTRO

I'm a 300 hour player (mostly survivor). Since I cannot play solo queue anymore without becoming insane, I decided I would wait for next patch, but meanwhile I've started to play killer on a fresh account, and experimenting what it would look like if I try as hard as I can to be a d*** (mostly by facecamping and tunneling the same player).

Admittedly because it's a fresh account I started with low MMR - I didn't really want to ruin the reputation of my main account just to prove a point - but I don't have a lot of experience with killer so it should not be too far from my "skill" if I were to play normally. However, you will see that skill is not really the point here.

Now let's make it short, I have played 18 games so far, and every single game has had exactly 0 ESCAPE from survivors. In fact, survivors never even managed to complete the last gen, so it was not very close, although they went down to 1 gen several times.

So, that's a 18 win streak - and judging by my last games, there's no sign that it's ending soon. By the way, I'm no small man like Otzdarva, a win for me means ALL SURVIVORS DIE - NOT EVEN HATCH. Of course it's a d*** challenge so I feel like giving hatch would be unappropriate.

Since people will legitimately doubt my claims, I have recorded videos of most of these matches, but I'll make a short summary for each game so you don't have to watch it, and if you're used to solo queue, I'm sure lots of these games will look familiar.

Note: if someone can tell me how to check my kill/escape ratio (which should be at 100%) that would be great, so I can share the proof that there was no other match between them where I could have lost.

    LINK TO VIDEOS

I uploaded everything on Youtube, but for your convenience as said I have a "breakdown" section below where I will sum them up.

Fellow survivor mains, I know it is disgusting, but I HIGHLY encourage you to watch some of these games. Check the BREAKDOWN section.

    STRATEGY / BUILD

Simple gameplay, here are the main ideas:

Step 1: patrol gens and try to find a survivor quickly. This is the most critical step. Be sneaky, don't waste time in loops, switch target if needed.

Step 2: facecamp the survivor until they die (be patient)

Step 3: if other survivors manage to unhook, keep tunneling the same survivor, wait 5-10 sec to bait endurance. When survivors attempt to unhook, avoid hitting them as experienced survivors will try to bait you, ideally, try to grab them while they unhook.

Step 4 (optional): once 1 survivor is dead it's pretty easy to finish the game usually, but if you want to guarantee 4K, camp the 3 gens that are closest to each other, injure survivors so they all make noise, exploit their altruism so you can get them all down, only hook them AFTER they are all down, so they can't get the hatch.

VIDEO EXAMPLE 1 FOR THE "FACECAMP" STEP (from game 2)

VIDEO EXAMPLE 2 FOR THE "TUNNELING" STEP (from game 9)

I also have some particularly obnoxious games that demonstrate the "exploit altruism" step but since this is optional and particularly toxic let's skip that part.

    BREAKDOWN

Here is a summary of each game, with a video link (time stamped directly to the most interesting part).

First game of the show, good to demonstrate the strategy. Started with Trapper as I thought he would be a good facecamper. Found Claudette quickly then stayed right in front of the hook . Nobody went to help her, so she DC'd after about 1 minute (5 gens left) leaving the game 3v1, her teammates were not fast enough with gens and it was relatively easy to finish.

Result: 4 kills, 1 gen left

A slightly better fight from survivors, showing that some are used to facecamping killers. Note that I have now switched to Nurse to increase the chance of DCs (this is my first game with Nurse - hope that it's obvious from the gameplay). I started to facecamp Leon but this time his team managed to distract me away from the hook, regardless I ended up getting a grab on the person who attempted to unhook and win easily.

Result: 4 kills, 5 gens left

Another very altruistic lobby, survivors try very hard to prevent me from tunneling David and even manage to successfully make me lose him, so I hook and camp Feng instead. Survivors try to save her too but this time I manage to down all of them.

Quite a sad game to be honest as I missed almost every blink and yet the whole game still ends in 5 minutes because survivors were too altruistic.

Result: 4 kills, 3 gens left

Not a very interesting game. I camp David, survivors make quick attempts at saving him but soon give up. David dies at 4 gens (!!). From there the game is easy to finish (although it takes me 7 more minutes to find the remaining survivors).

Result: 4 kills, 2 gens left

A very sad game as survivors really try to save their teammate but end up losing everything for it. Very touching survivors and merciless game from me, do not watch if you're faint-hearted. On a side note, I think this game illustrates well how disgusting you can play if you want to deny survivors the hatch: the game is clearly over after 3 min 30 s, yet it still takes me 15 more minutes to finish the last 3 survivors and ensure no one gets the hatch.

Result: 4 kills, 1 gen left

Very poor game from both sides, not much to say about it. Bad SWF, bad gameplay from me (Note: following the previous game, I equipped Whispers to have a easier time finding the remaining 3 survivors - I will later switch to "Spies from the Shadows")

Result: 4 kills, 3 gens left

Another sad game. Hooked Nea right after start, someone DC's 30 seconds later, leaving everybody else hopeless. Survivors acted so cute that I considered letting them win and cancelling the game but eh, he DC'd after the hook so it's not really my fault, and I don't feel like that's what the majority of killers do when playing against me, so no mercy.

Result: 4 kills, 5 gens left

Best survivors I've faced so far, now the MMR finally went a bit up. This is a very telling game, worth watching as a whole (Warning: it is also very triggering, if you're a survivor main)

Here I found Cheryl quickly, but she was clearly a good player, so I gave up the chase and went for her teammates instead. I started to tunnel Kate, but only after a long chase, and by the time I hooked her for the first time there were only 2 gens remaining. From there it should be a loss for me, but as usual solo queuers try too hard to save their teammates and end up losing their advantage. Kate dies while Nancy attempts hoplessly to save her. By the time I hook Nancy still 2 gens remain. Nancy gets saved while I get greedy and damage a nearby gen, gives a fight and has DS which makes me lose time, but still not enough for her teammates to finish the remaining gens.

Result: 4 kills, 1 gen left

A rather easy game. Got Ash quickly, but his team tried hard to save him, bodyblocking, tanking hits etc. I could still tunnel him and get the other survivors shortly after.

Result: 4 kills, 4 gens left

Another sad game. Clearly low MMR survivors, game was already over after 3 minutes when I grabbed the person who tried to unhook.

Result: 4 kills, 3 gens left

Now this is the first truly heartbreaking game. Likely a SWF stack as these girls played very altruistic and 2 of them had the exact same skin, one Claudette even tried to disguise as the other so I would hook her instead when they were all down. Everybody tried to save the tunneled survivor but did not manage.

Result: 4 kills, 2 gens left

Low MMR survivors, caught Claudette in 1 minute, very easy game, except for one thing: I tried to end the match too quickly at the end and almost gave Cheryl a chance to get hatch, this could have ended the streak.

Result: 4 kills, 3 gens left

Regular tunneling game, caught Mikaela, camped her, teammates ended up being grabbed while saving her.

Result: 4 kills, 2 gens left

Absolutely heartbreaking game. Tunneled Claudette but Nea managed to skillfully bait me and unhook her without getting grabbed (which shows just how often solo queue players have to face it). Claudette rage quitted, seeing what happened, survivors gave up and/or tried to act cute.

    Conclusion

I humbly ask you, DbD game developers, to do me a favor and watch some of these games, especially game 14, and tell me if that matches your vision of how the game should be played, because actually, it matches what I've been getting lately as a solo queue survivor.

I trust that you have data that shows that the game is not killer-sided so I will refrain from debating balance, in fact I don't doubt that SWFs and/or the combination of old DS/BT/DH was too strong in some circumstances.

However, what seems clear to me, is that:

    1. The game may be not killer-sided, or survivor-sided, but it is definitely tryhard-sided. I think this echoes what Otzdarva said in a video: "DBD is extremely survivor-sided ?". Basically, your game can be fun under the assumption that people will play nice, but the rules and balance of the game do not prevent you to be extremely toxic. For example, camping a hooked survivor is seen as a d* move by most of the community, and yet managing to land a grab on someone who tries to unhook was multiple times a game-winning move for me.
    2. The game is full of anti-fun mechanics for survivors: very long gens that people don't want to do, one shot mechanics like NOED or grabbing a survivor who attempts to unhook, having to rely on killer's kindness to get hatch, survivor having to wait 4 minutes on ground if killer doesn't want to pick them up (hatch again), etc. Killers do not have to face such mechanics, and most importantly, do not rely on 3 random teammates to play the game.
    3. MMR doesn't work. I've played many PvP games, it seems unconceivable to me to get a 18 win streak against human players. Just think of it. 18 games x 4 kills each = 72 survivors dead. That's a LOT of people time wasted so that just one guy can have fun (me).

So, I don't know if I will continue playing and see if I can achieve longer streak, but ultimately, what has made me stop playing for now, is not toxic survivors, Dead Hard, DS, it is not gen rushing nor SWFs, ultimately the thing that makes me stop playing is just how heartbreaking some of the games must have been for survivors. If you've been in one of these games I hope you understand and wish you a nice day.

This may be a cause for concern... If you weren't playing against brand new survivors who have no idea what they are doing. This is like me saying a job is too hard for everyone at my plant because I based it off of a group of new people who haven't even been trained.

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

"I am a main killer so i will not lie, i might be kinda based"

Can killer mains stop giving their unwarranted opinions on an issue affecting SURVIVORS.

We're telling you solo queue is in a bad spot and you're responding with "Well actually as a killer here's all the reasons it's not."

Do you not realise how biased this is?

I am a monument to your Sins. Pride, Envy, Gluttony, Greed, Lust, Sloth, Wrath. Turning Man and Woman against their brothers, their sisters. Will you choose the ultimate Sin... to obtain what you desire, will you KILL?!

I play both sides, more Survivor than Killer. Solo Queue only as Survivor cause I work Graveyard Shift and play EARLY morning US. Solo Queue is fine. The OP is not wrong, the only real issue is Survivors who are Rage Quitting, or killing themselves on first hook.

Then there are those who are just plain playing stupid because they are LOST without the old Survivor meta.

    1. They do stupid hook rushes trying to play like they can get hit, unhook, then Dead Hard away.
    2. Then they run EVERYWHERE, leaving scratch marks ALL OVER THE PLACE. Most of all running to hooks to unhook when the Killer has BARELY WALKED AWAY. They RUN to injured survivors looking to get healed.
    3. They ignore the Terror Radius and just sit on a gen till a Killer is 5 feet away (3 meters).
    4. They unhook in the Killer's face like EVERYONE is still running DS, and they DO NOT have BT, they just expect you to have OtR.

It has very little to do with Killer buffs, and everything to do with Survivors. It's self inflicted wounds. Without their old meta, they just quit. Without their old meta, they are CLUELESS, and do some of the DUMBEST things I've ever seen. As someone who never used that old meta, solo survivor has only gotten harder because team mates are BAD. Other than that, it's the same it's always been for me.

You guys need to read before commenting, it literally says "losing any Tokens in the process" thats means that if Devour hope is cleansed, all the tokens are gone, but Devour hope is still there and can gain the tokens again, so if a Devour Hope with 5 tokens is cleansed it will respawn but without the tokens so you need to gain again 3 tokens to instadown an 5 tokens to mori

Oh my mistake! Sorry. That would be fine then.

  • @lagosta said:

I don't think that's a good idea. Now Undying also transfers stacks and having to cleanse anywhere between 2-5 totems to get rid of a single perk effect seems way too drastic. Imagine the pressure of 3 stacks of Devour Hope.

I'd have to agree with this one.

  • @Aurelle said:

Yep. Solo is practically unplayable and survivors were overly nerfed. Killers had everything handed to them, survivors got nothing. Survivor is miserable now.

Really? Cause I'm Gold IV now as Solo Survivor and doing just fine. I'd be higher if I also didn't play Killer too for dailies and whenever I'm feeling a Killer game, I'm Silver III as Killer atm.

My build is We'll Make It, Flashbang, Iron Will, and some random 4th perk. Trying out random things with the last one. Pretty sure the problem is most Survivors are just really bad, without their 5-6 freebies for making mistakes repeatedly.

  • Sorta, but not really. He won't require a bounce, plus his super speed is very short, like 2 meters if that. It'll primarily be used for misdirection at loops and run off a token system. Best I can describe is, Nurse with 2 meter blinks but has collision. Unlike Blight Or Nurse, it won't stun him and have a cooldown after it's use. Overall less powerful than Nurse or Blight. Or if you know X-men, Nightcralwer (or Azael if you prefer), teleport but super short limited range.

  • If it is Wesker, it'll be his super sonic speed though that would be basically like teleporting, but he'll still have collision effects with everything. Think Nurse, but can't go through things. I'd be all for it though, cause i'm for anything Resident Evil (well, except for the new Netflix abomination.)

No one else wants to say it, so I will. Both sides are full of entitled brats that just want the game given to them, and in my experience generally killers have been sided with far more than survivors and yes I've been playing since the beginning. The reason it seems overwhelming in the echo chambers of the survivor side is because there's more survivors to make echos.

But let's be fair they have every reason to do so. Those that have played from the beginning know they learned from killers doing it.

We also have to remember that when that many people have put a lot of money into the game they feel they have a lot more to lose when they're not being listened to or being screwed over. There's no way they're not going to be heard when money is involved. The devs can check the statistics they love so much and see that money is leaving.

Do you think they're going to listen to your money or you're whining?

HAHAHAHA! Sided with the killers my ass. You realize those survivors who "put so much money into the game" did it because they wanted toxic bully simulator right? I've been playing since the beginning myself, and can tell you can thank the old "content creators" for that. You know, OchiDO, Noob3, and the like? The ones who made being "Toxic!" popular?

Game health and good balance meant nothing. It was all about being a Toxic Bully Simulator. Though now the game is actually getting balanced, because BHVR realized DBD doesn't need to cater to that anymore. They don't need to cater to the toxic Survivor players, the ones who only played to in order to be like their "TOXIC!" idol Survivor steamer/youtuber anymore to bring in money.

The entitled brats have always been the "Toxic!" Survivor player base, where the only thing they wanted was a bully simulator, where they and their friends could gang up and make fun of someone.

Killers don't like that survivors are using pages out of there 2017 quitters play book.

Oh speak of the devil. There's the topic of my other post right now. How's the artificial inflation of Kill rates going?

If you truly believe enough survivors are taking hours out of their day to purposely log into a game and throw match after match, and you believe they are doing it an organized quantity that would actually inflate Kill rates- idk what to tell you. I just can't see it personally. This whole idea was invemted here on the forum and is spreading like paranoia with no evidence to back it up (at least none that I know of).

Is there evidence that survivors en masse have organized to inflate Kill rates over random Solo players being genuinely frustrated and just giving up? Maybe I missed it.

Yes, Literally right here. "It's not about winning or loosing, it's about sending a message." https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3084886#Comment_3084886

I've even had this before where Survivors ran at me, I hooked them, they offed themselves on first hook. I asked "What was that about?" and the response I got was "Can't do ######### without the the old perks, so might as well just gives the Killers and the developers what they want. More kills."

  • I'm having fun playing Solo queue Survivor. The only games I have a bad time are when other Survivors off themselves on first hook to inflate Kill rates or rage quit for whatever asinine reason they make up in their heads. Currently working on getting Gold Rank IV, then up to Gold Rank One. May continue to see if I can get to Irri.

I'm really not enjoying the game right now, every game I've played tonight either I or one of my team has been tunnelled out of the game.

It feels like even if I sit on gens, go for saves, take chase and do everything right I'm being punished by poor game design to give the killer an easy kill.

Before this patch dbd was my favourite game, I don't want to quit and I don't want to go into every game thinking I'm going to lose.

So one person gets the shaft while everyone else escapes. I forgot this is a 1v1 game, where you need a bunch of 2nd chance perks so you can be a "Hero" and stand up to the killer. Cause you know, that doesn't cause a balance problem when there are 4 "Heroes" against 1 Bad Guy.

I really don't understand why Survivors these days have such a problem with "Seeing the Forest For The Trees."

  • About as much fun as 4 DH/DS/BT/ IW or Prove Thyself was for Killers for how many years? Think Killers enjoyed that meta when Survivors "Tunneled The Gens" and the game was over in 3-4 minutes? Even faster with ToolBoxes?

Be more original and not reposting streamers tweets.

Because the killer main streamer posting literally rumours doesn't mean they're true.

Literally right here. "It's not about winning or losing. It's about sending a message. And it will be received, you'll see. Most of the survivors that are suffering understand this."

It's not some Killer Main streamer, it's legit Survivors on these very forums saying. They ARE PURPOSELY killing themselves on first hook to artificially inflate kill rates in the devs data. All in a pathetic attempt to get buffs/nerfs.

You're disrespectful, must be new or a bad liar in case you actually believe SC is GOOD and not a joke?

If the loop becomes nearly useless when the killer uses their power,Artist,Blight & Oni curving then it's anti looping.

Please,I know you are passionate about winning as the killer always,do try however to leave the discussion to experienced players, thank you, friend!

Also if you read 10% of the text and comment is quite disrespectful,I read your entire post and recall everything but you can barrely recall mine and throw words in my mouth ON top of beign a disrespectful and condescending individual.

Name has DOMINATING in it, Massive Survivor Bias, Extreme Killer Hatred. Yup, checks out. Just a wee bit angry your bully simulator was taken away are we?

  • Depends for me. All my normal matches I do just fine. The ones I loose (if the killer doesn't let us go) is because of other Survivors Rage Quitting and offing themselves on first hook. Half of them are doing it on purpose to artificially inflate Kill rates, so they get Survivor Buffs and Killer nerfs, others are just your standard Rage Quitters.

I'm not suffering as Solo Queue survivor cause of killer being too strong. I'm suffering because man child Survivor players can't stand not having a million 2nd chance perks to bully killers and quitting.

wait wait, if looping was an exploit and not meant to be in the game, what was the normal gameplay mechanic to use when the killer spots you and begin to chase you? run in a straight line and lasting 10 sec?

Back then you were supposed to use a Pallet as a way to stun the killer and then have them break it. There was much more foliage and maps were much darker. Hiding and loosing the killer in the chase. Hence why back before all the second chance perks, Iron Will was meta and so was Lightweight. Today's DBD is VASTLY different than back then. The only looping back then was the old True Infinites. Then Patch 1.4.0 came out and the Looping each and every pallet came about. in the Stealth days, Wraith was king. In the Looping days, Trapper was king cause he could shut down loops. (to a degree of sorts).

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

I don't think that making perks to hardcounter tunneling is the way to go. That just means you have to have those perks at all times.

I would rather go for the reason tunneling is happening. Turning the game into a 3v1 assap is just way to benificial.

Give survivors a desperation bonus to repair speed for every survivor killed will make killers think twice before killing a survivor without even hooking the others once.

It will still be a option but atleast the remaining survivors will still have a fighting chance

Hmmm... A desperation bonus you say? This idea sounds kind of cool to me. It would require a LOT of testing, but it sounds interesting. Killer can take someone out toward their objective, but at a cost if someone is tunneled out. Though what if everyone has been hooked twice, it's 1 gen left, and now the three do things even faster? Would there be a safety against the desperation bonus happening if someone wasn't actually tunneled out and everyone has had their turns on the hook? don't want to punish a killer for making a kill when he hasn't in fact tunneled anyone.

Thus, Looping as it is known today was born. This, by all accounts, makes Looping an Exploit as it fits the definition of video game exploits.

    Looping is not an exploit.

Yes, it is. It was only turned into core gameplay after pressure from Survivors. Why do you think Bloodlust was added into the game? Why do you think Killers have so many Aura Reading perks now as well as Killer Instinct? All added as a way to reduce Stealth gameplay because "That's not fun being immersed" and "we want to be chased all game." It has always been an exploit, and hence why the game has massive changed since it came out.

Go ahead, look up the patch notes.

  • @Dead_Harder said:

Yeah i always got confused when people said being tunneled was 'denying to play the game' and then turn around and say the chase was the most fun part of the game and gens were boring.

That's because "We want to be chased all game! That's what's fun!" was a lie told by Survivors way back when.

Back before patch 1.4.0 Looping was nowhere near as powerful as it is today. In Patch 1.4.0 the developers re-sized the Survivors hit boxes to be smaller, in order to help Survivors not get hit out in the open so easy, and to help compensate for latency issues. This had an unintentional effect, as Survivors found out they could now hug objects much tighter than before. This, in turn, meant they could run around objects in tighter, and therefore, faster circles than Killers could. Before this, you could get MAYBE one Loop out of a Pallet. Instead of the usual 2-3 now, before having to drop it. Thus, Looping as it is known today was born. This, by all accounts, makes Looping an Exploit as it fits the definition of video game exploits.

    See Link here -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game_exploit

Survivors, still reeling from the loss of true Infinites, took to this like fish to water. The developers planned to fix it at first, but quickly decided to leave it in the game and try to balance around it due to pressure from their Survivor player base. The majority player base of Survivor Mains just couldn't win without having something that was blatantly game breaking to abuse. Most Survivors then told the biggest lie in the games history : "We want to be chased all game! That's what's fun!" In order to protect this new exploit. The developers caved, and have been struggling to re-balance the game for its inclusion ever since.

Killers were simply ill-equipped to deal with Looping and Stealth. This is why Killers now have a PLETHORA of aura reading perks, add ons, powers, and abilities. This was also the reason Bloodlust was shoehorned into the game. It was a band-aid mechanic to try to help killers against looping being so overpowering. The developers gave the Survivors what they wanted, to be chased all game and let them have their loops. They are simply trying to give both sides what they want. Killers the power to be able to stand up to Looping, Survivors the game play they wanted. Though truth is, neither side is very happy. In short : Killers are getting the balance they wanted (I say getting cause they still aren't there yet). However, not the game play they want. Survivors got the game play they wanted, but not the balance they want (as in being OP as hell).

(In case anyone is wondering, the above is a copy paste I typed up 4 years ago.)

Now, being chased all game isn't so much fun. All because it's not an automatic win, seeing as the game is FINALLY being balanced for Looping, and the 2nd chance Crutch perk meta is nerfed. It goes to show, I knew what many Survivors were REALLY thinking way back when. Being chased all game is fun, but for many survivors, it's only fun if they win. If they loose because of it, then it's "not fun." Many Survivors have a long standing record of using "X is/isn't fun" as a weapon, to browbeat the developers into changing the game so the balance is in their favor.

The biggest issue now with camping/tunneling is many Survivors are so used to being able to Loop, blow all their 2nd chance perks, AND STILL SURVIVE, they are mad they can't now. If one person has to die, ONE PERSON DIES. Many Survivors still consider DBD a 1v1 FOUR TIMES OVER, not a 1v4. Which is completely backwards. Many have developed a "Hero Complex", being able to "beat the killer" and still escape. Sure, you can't kill the killer, but having the Killer chase you all game and still getting out is "beating the killer". Now that it usually doesn't happen, they aren't happy about it.

I've been playing a lot of Survivor and doing decently. However my biggest problem is team mates. I'm solo Queue and there are two major factors that play into any loss I may get.

Firstly : Rage Quitting. Some Survivors are just ANGRY AS HELL and are purposely throwing the match and disconnecting or "offing themselves" on their first hook. Some are simply doing it to artificially inflate kill rates, to skew the developers data in order to get buffs so they can "Hero" and often times bully killers again.

Secondly : Simply playing stupid because they are so used to old meta plays. They try to do stupid hook saves in the killers face, ungodly amount of hook trades, rushing a gen while injured when the killer is nearby cause they are used to "Press E to avoid hit or make it to safe Loop", you name it. They CONTINUE to play like they are a "Hero" that can just keep taking smacks over and over.

Instead of taking solace in the fact they wasted a good amount of the killers time, and they really helped their team, they are only concerned about themselves. This "MeMeMe" mentality is because they are used to being a "Hero", not a scared weak Survivor.

I'm speaking about "Strength in numbers" challenge, where you have to have at least one survivor escape while you still in match.

Trivia (can skip to the next part)

Another SoloQ example. I'm 1.2K hours (so no comments like "you just have to play more"). I almost never used DH before, so nothing new for me perkwise, using same familliar loadout.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2P8VZPLY5EIC/image.png

Only once I escaped through hatch as last survivor.

Only 3 games were not 4K.

I have starting to get lots of gold and iri "Evader" emblems and be in chases longer than 2 minutes (exept nurse, ofc), which means killers I'm matched with are completely unskilled. Yet almost everytime is 4K

    Tunneling is off the charts!

Finally got that book challenge because was matched with 3 SWF bully squad and killer was fresh.

    What i wanted to say

SoloQ is literally unplayable, unless you're some pro tournament streamer. Devs should get up the nerve and make a statement: survivor gameplay is supposed for friend play. SoloQ is not meant to be and it's at your own risk. No problem with that, many quesions will be ceased immediately.

System requirements: internet connection, PC/Xbox/PS, 3 friends

Let me give an example: Hunt Showdown. You play 3 vs 3, or 2 vs 2. You can go solo agains duos and gain "underdog" bonus, or agains trios and get super "underdog" bonus. So solo is officially left for streamers, tryhards and challengers. Everyone fine with that. Why just simply acknowledge the same thing in DbD?

That awkward "you kinda can play Solo, but kinda can't" is really disorienting.

    Another thing that stumbles me

Why many perks switches off at the EGC? It's like "You lose, but you can play well and go to the end, and then lose anyway". Why? Why killer is obliged to have win? There's some quota?

You're WAY WAY off base here. No matter what, you get a team. Terrible, Bad, Good, Amazing. Doesn't matter, you still get a team. Just because your team is bad, doesn't mean you get anything special. Also, I do just fine as solo queue Survivor. The game was always built for solo Queue, SWF was added after the fact, and is the most game breaking powerhouse because of it.

Also, your Hunt : Showdown reference makes zero sense. Solo in Hunt is made for streamers, tryhards, and challengers. Hunt was always meant to be duos, but they adding in trio's later. Solo in Hunt, you don't get a team at all. DBD you do, good or bad. So you take what you get in DBD. It was built around solo queue, Hunt was not.

Also, before you say I have no idea what I'm talking about, here is my Steam Profile -> https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198405376589/

Near 4,000 hours in Hunt, 3,000+ of that is as solo. I played Beta and onward, and have been a large presence on the forums and Twitch. I've played with Ic3man2k and such and given much feedback, gun suggestions, ect. To the point they gave me Cain, The Legendary Hunter Skin.

Like I posted on Otz's video today:

"you can blame on the survivors or the killer, you can blame on the maps or the perks, but one thing is for sure: the last update made it WAY WORSE for the game in general.

And I'm not hopeful about it like most of you are.

I also posted on Otz's video. Did it make the game worse? For now, yeah. Why? All because Survivors are baby raging and killing themselves on first hook or DC'ing. It's called artificially inflating he Kill ratio in order to purposely skew the games data stats. Survivors are RAGING because they are bad or because they can't bully squad Killers like they used to.

If the devs and player have to deal with rage babies for a while, so be it. It's better in the long run than letting entitled children with MASSIVE ego's run the game. If they need their hero complex, they should play a single player game on easy mode.

Love this flawed line of thinking that only ever applies to solo survivors, and not killers who were “whining and crying” because they couldn’t get 4ks nonstop.

    Try again.

Solo Survivor here as well as some killer. It's not flawed, I've been seeing it all over. So have the Killers I face. You're dead wrong on so many levels. This is nothing but bad survivor players and bully squads raging they don't have a bunch of freebies for messing up and laughing in the killers face while they tea bag and flashlight click.

    Try Again.

  • I dunno. I'm going to be frank, i've seen quite a few cheaters as of late. Subtle hacks are kind of out of control. Survivors with subtle 3-5% speed hacks. Killers with NO aura reading perks picking me out of a locker, even though I hid there a minute ago and they walked from across the map. (No Lethal Purser, Darkness Revealed, BQQ). Subtle Speed hacks on Killers ( I play a lot of killer and I know when a Killer is going 120% or more.) Lot of things just not adding up. Then I check and see they have the console icon, which makes me doubt myself, then I remember the Epic Games Store free accounts. Truthfully you can't blame folks right now, the subtle hacks are going rampant right now.

I do not believe that the ability for one player to completely deny another the ability to play the game is healthy design.

I don't care if a coordinated team can beat it. This sucks for everyone involved and is clearly designed to ruin other players experiences.

Dear lord, it's almost as if there are 4 survivors to 1 killer. So sorry about your 1v1.

  • Meanwhile I'm doing just fine running We'll Make It, Lightweight, Flashbang, and Iron Will. Flashbang into Iron Will and Lightweight and the killer is going "Who, what, where?" half the time. The other half of the time it's enough of a distraction to make it to another loop. We'll make it for hook saves cause a lot of Killers are enjoying Mangled these days.

I feel like Survivor's these days have no idea how to do anything then use perks that are just "freebies" that require no thought.

I know I'm late but I just saw this topic and you're literally wrong that DH was the last strong survivor perk released. At the bare minimum, Apr 2, 2019 was the release of 1.0 Mettle of Man which literally nuked all m1 killers besides spirit and nurse out of existence until it got hard nerfed roughly a month later to what it is now. The reason survivor perks can't be to strong individually is because you can have 4x of them at once.

    BUT BUT MAH 1v1!

For your counterplay of PR the survivors actually can’t tell what’s a scourge hook or not (unless they have saboteur). By the time you figured out all 4 spawn you’re either dead or the perks already gotten insane value.

Lethal only needs to work once since it helps immensely when killers are at their weakest that being the early game. Also many killers already run aura perks/add ons so don’t make that bonus sound like a bad thing. What if the killer is camping with deadlock? You can’t really be patient in that case

My problem isn’t that these perks are strong. My issue is that survivors consistently get perks like dark theory and corrective action which just plain suck

Do what? You can tell which is a scourge hook and what's not. Seriously, just look at it. It has a bunch of white overgrowth on it. It doesn't glow like for Killer, but you can tell just by looking at it. "Already gotten insane value." That hardly happens unless you're all hook swarming and continuously getting plopped on the same hook. Not only do Scourge Hooks require you play well as a killer and down people, it also it totally RNG if one is even nearby. Then add the fact they can be Sabotaged. You are VASTLY overstating.

Killer camping with Deadlock? Maybe move to another Gen instead of sitting in some grass and moaning about it? Then the Killer has to worry about two gens instead of just the one.

Also, you want to talk about useless perks? Literally every single Killer has at least 1 if not more that's useless or so niche they only work "decent" for one killer.

It's not about winning or losing. It's about sending a message. And it will be received, you'll see. Most of the survivors that are suffering understand this.

That message being spoiled brats will stomp their feet, and "take their ball home" if they aren't given massive handicap training wheels to abuse? Yeah, we know. I'm sure the developers know as well. It's how the game has been dictated for the last 6 years. Survivor Mains kicking and screaming if they don't have a bully simulator.

If someone DCs it's fine, devs don't count the games where there's atleast 1 DC. Probably doesn't help that survivors DC when they're losing and not when they're winning so alot of 3k/4k matches didn't count towards kill rates thanks to the survivors that DC'd.

That's what happened yesterday with me. 2 Survivors Rage Quit (they were a 2 man SWF). After that I let the other two do 4 gens, break totems, stun me, hook saves, and leave. Sure, I'm not the friendliest when it comes to Survivor moaning about balance, but i'm not heartless. I play equal amounts as Survivor and Killer, and I know how much DC's ruin it for Survivors. Kind of ruins it for me as a Killer too. I want a good balanced match, not a PUBSTOMP.
