Accept some games you cant, simply put some maps and rng are so bad its impossible to win if the survivors are good. Biggest issue is game start, even if the first gen I walk to I find a survivor and down them at that look as quick as possible by the time iv hooked them 3 gens are nearly done, if it's a big map I lose 3 gens for the fastest chase possible. Like the survivor got hit twice at the same tile and I still lost 3 gens. But when it's not those top % i use ruin and pop, might start using ruin,corrupt and pop to stop the early gen rush
-
I mean Its still a decent sized map with alot of safe pallets, it's easy to rush the gens on the map providing people actually do them. I do agree 1v1 is stupid but so are alot of things that are in the game.
-
The devs, having bust rng or huge maps can really bug me, as someone who plays all killers having such random and often unfair setups isn't a fun experience especially as weaker killers...
-
Honestly chases dont even have to be long for gens to get done. It's kinda stupi how you can find a survivor at the first gen, hit them twice at the same loop and by the time you get them on a hook you lose 3 gens because of map size etc. Its kinda bad. It's why the game isn't balanced... luckily most players arent efficient though so yay?
-
Because it's a game and people actually wanna play? It's no different to a 4man swf rushing gens with them on. It's just how some people play, personally I change depending on how the games going, if were do well as survivor I'll chill some more and open a chest etc. I wont rush the game but I'm not gonna farm neither
-

Yeah, it feels like Petrified Oak is basekit lately.
Even with closer hook offerings it's been insane.
Glad it's not just me, honestly wasting so much time carry people to hooks now and some I can barely make even with all hooks up.
@A_Skinny_Legend said:
I've noticed this too. So much actually that I've bothered to check the offerings used instead of my usual browsing the Internet on my phone.
You could just check at end game, but god forbid these hooks with offerings lol
-
Simple swf action debuff would be fair, buffing solo is a stupid idea, its was more work not to mention solo survivors can play insanely strong anyway. The only reason solo sucks is because of bad players not because they're at a disadvantage
-
I wouldn't mind a small undertone music but chase music nah, since your tiny, cant see scratch Mark's etc. You want less distractions, personally while I love the chase music for all characters I hate how loud it is, like I'm the killer why is my own music deafening me so much lol
-
Yeah when I started sliding of objects such a killer shack I stopped. But hey I got banned for swearing about this issue instead of the issue even being acknowledged so...
-
Bad survivors, simple as that tbh rank means nothing
-
Iv been rank 1 pretty much since the games release and this is for both sides. Basically its random if you escape now, you can do the same chases, gems etc. But your team has to be doing things, basically you can have a trash team that cabt do chases and refuse to di gens (more common than ever now) or you are lucky and have other survivors that do generators. I personally only focus on my chase and ignore if I escape or die, if I do a 4min chase and bo gen gets done its clearly not on me. When they fix ranking this will fix it, but Escaping is over rated
-
Well considering I'm doing 4odd gens a match long chases and Escaping I'm quite enjoying it. Honestly my team mates are just as bad as rank 2s except now I'm not versing good killers with a bad team.

I agree that NOED isn't too strong and dealable. But "Do Bones" still is used as a simple excuse for the frustration people feel with this perk. Especiall, if you done a good bunch of the totems, but still got hit with it, because nobody else did. Or because you can't find that ne totem that happened to be on a well hidden spot etc.
Frustration isn't always about strength. I mean compare it with Rancor, which should be more frustrating for the obsession player right? But we rarely hear complains here. And I think this has more to do, because Rancor is something people are better prepared to deal with. You can see the killers aura during the trial and figure it out, you get exposed immediatly etc. And also while it's seems "more unfair" that you can't remove it like NOED, by destroying totems, it's probably less frustrating, because you know that you couldn't have done anything anyway.
Well rancor is less common, I honestly cant remember seeing it for the past year odd if not longer, but the simple perk detectives hunch will single handily counter noed even as a solo. Personally dying at the end of a match isn't a big issue, honestly imo it's how it should be as I feel to often do survivors feel like they should escape
-
Actually no, a killer cant be in 4 places at once at the same time but a survivor can do bones quite easily... and people only say do bones because of noed which isn't that strong and can be countered by perks and items. While the pressure gens is killers struggling
-
Certain maps tend to be worse, hooks dont consider objects or different levels. The basement also messes up hook spawn locations. Really does need to be looked into. Personally a simple fix ignoring basement hooks would fix that issue.
-
This is why I always say alien for licence. The map would be insane, similar model to demo and abilities have many possibilities. Non liscene I always say a werewolf, imagine hearing that howl or sprint at you on all 4s lol
-
Only change is console can now kinda play at the same level as pc blights and I'm all for it. The fact console could stack turn addons and not come close to the pc players without the addons was a joke.
-
The team should be bigger in all departments. Testing, balance etc. Honestly a game shouldn't be bugged constantly with game breaking issues, lack of communication etc. Good game but could be wayyyy better if only more people worked on it so the team wasnt so stretched or limited to what they can do
-
It's all down to the bug, I'm usually a rank 1 (and a very good rank 1 at that) I'm now rank 9... this isn't my choice but know I'm sure alot of people are in the same boat, while I'm not toxic etc. I still feel a little bad but iv been burning a bunch of party streamers to try make up for a possible rough game. (Honestly though haven't noticed much difference in teammates they still hide and dont do gens lol) my advice is just see it as an opportunity to see and learn how higher skilled players play, how they loop etc. Learning that can only improve you
-
Shed be fine if rank actually meant something... be versing rank 1 spirits with rank 15 team mates that got boosted to red ranks. Personally I think winning with terrible teammates shouldn't be a thing but that's just me personally I'd like the killers to have a chance and most need buffs, if actually like to see them played tbh
-
It's the same as before just now it doesnt require you to running windstorm.
-
Honestly they could just disable them all imo. Lack of hooks is irritating and I'd rather avoid rotten fields as both roles, most hated map tbh and was hoping a full rework on its size and blandness but nope

It's far better than WGLF.
BBQ is going to give you useful information at least once a game.
With WGLF you'd be lucky to heal a slug up once every 3 games.
Okay and killer is much harder and a 4v1... like I explained bbq isn't what makes it meta it's the BP. I use both on everyone and honestly hardly ever get good use from bbq unless I'm a high mobility killer. Wanting bt which is already meta as hell means making it a always used, doesnt seem very fair or balanced or even a good idea... that's like saying attached the BP for killer to ruin or something already strong and useful
-
@SkeletalElite said:
I just wish WGLF's benefit was good enough to be a meta perk IE the bloodpoint bonus was attached to BT because I would literally always run it if that were the case. At least if killers are deciding to run a perk for BP they're also getting a meta info perk that is always useful. Survivors though? Sorry you get a niche ability that will only occasionally come in handy
Bbq isn't actually all that great, most people including myself use it just for the BP. Like sure I can see someone across the map but they can soon hide the aura behind a gen or in a locker, even if they dont it's a long distance to waste time and I'll probably lose that gen especially as a 110 speed. If bbq lost the bp I'd run tremors, or whatever the new bp earning perk is. Plus it's a 4v1, I'm bound to find someone regardless of an aura 40+meters away
-
Yes. Considering it's used on 3/4 survivors every game it's quite annoying. I may be unlucky with that but most games I run into rank 1s using BT and DH. While I dont care what perks people use its obviously overused. I dont get why it wasnt x meters near the hook to avoid stealth camping... nothing is worse than being across the map when the unhook happens but you still hit a bt anyway...
-
If you slugged at 5 gens I'm assuming they was more chill, that's the best time to have fun and play more chill. Personally I never slug all unless it's near the end and I know I have to in order to "win" while winning isn't a must it's always nice as a competitive person. I play how I'd want killer to play for me, while most never will I always try lead by example and if I can have fun while others do too then isn't that a bonus?
-
I'd prefer to play resident evil games over DBD, I mean look Iv supported this game since the start. But many bugs and issues later with no response I told them to fix the game while swear and look at me now... banned, shows alot if you ask me. Not the sorta company that's understanding. They have a great game but lack the knowledge how to communicate and listen to their fans... plus they might ruin the res chapter and the game isn't new player friendly or just a friendly community

This is so true about survivors not doing what they're suppose to,why you even play survivor if you're not doing your objective?
Because the game rewards bad survivors, and they wont play killer because that's much harder and you get punished for doing bad
-
No. He bonuses off wayyyyyyyyy too many items. I refuse to play him till it's fixed. Its beyond a joke, spirit dont have that issue
-
That's funny I played him and couldn't bounce off anything, even directly at killer shack. So I just quit and will leave him on the bench till another patch
-
Gen rushing will always be a thing, when people never heal and will always jump on gens even in your face there you go. Luckily having a full team play that way is rare but it can happen. Shame you dont repair slightly slower injured by default. Reward the killer for pressuring all players. At least you was survivor though lol
-
@Bwsted said:
Your thread title doesn't compute with the op. Mislead by what, or by whom?
In general, survivors are the same as killers, or any player, or people in general i.e. blaming others for their own shortcomings. There's nothing special about game side in this regard.
Bad survivors being red ranks for example. Bad survivors shouldn't be high rank so its misleading them, also you get points towards bp and emblems for wasting a pallet and stunning the killer after being hit, trading hooks straight away even though they have plenty of time on it. Looping near hooked survivors etc. There are many things that give you points for bad plays which is another misleading factor. We reward bad players a little too much, so much I feel they dont grasp it and therefore when they lose even though they die, dont get close to Escaping or lose even with lots of points they're left feeling the killer must be OP because the game told me I done good. Me getting 12hooks at 4/5 isn't the killer op, that's on the survivors. Obviously killers have it too but it's not as bad
-
@Harold_Shipman said:
I'm aware I'm pretty bad on both survivor and killer, which is why I try to refrain from calling any side strong/weak unless it's a claim that can be substantiated outside of my own personal experiences.
When I see people come to the forums and demand we nerf SWF because killers are weak and survivors OP etc etc and then a stream of them playing surfaces and they are ######### terrible, I'm like "yikes... don't wanna be that guy".
That said, I am as qualified as anybody to say what I find -Fun-. To me, being camped is not fun. Being gen rushed on huge maps with low mobility is not Fun. Certain killers are not fun, to play as and against. These opinions are, of course, important, because if the majority of the player base doesn't find something fun, then it should really be changed.
Yes the games should be fun for either side I agree but I also dont believe bad survivors should escape or win. If survivors cant loop and arent really doing gens they shouldn't win as it seems odd to play bad yet still win? Doesnt really make sense to me, personally I feel too many survivors expect to escape, and too many killers want 4k (12hooks) while neither should be a thing. Solo is most balanced though, and you cant call killers op because your team is bad? No different to a simple 4v4death match on other games, you can have a terrible team but it doesnt mean its unbalanced at game core just bad matchmaking or your team was just bad. Swf I agree with alot of people it's not very fun and that's due to the com info they can share which is huge! From hexs, perks, gen locations, gen progress, killer location, killer direction etc. A simple debuff to action speed would balance that. It's not punishing swf its balancing it, if you have come you can play more optimal and therefore the challenge should be slightly harder. Simply put, bad players shouldn't win. Camping should be discouraged and swf shouldn't be as strong. Buffing bad survivors means buffing good survivors...

But if you could tell them what to do..... and communicate those things a swf can communicate... yeah... idk why you're saying no to my response.
Because its imbalanced? I did say that. It wouldn't be fun to easily win every match and it's why I avoid swf especially 4man that all know how to play, it's also not fun for the killer either. And another point is you shouldn't have to micromanage a team for you to have a chance. Survivors who cant do chases and have to be told to do a gen shouldn't win. I'm not trying to be rude but I dont get why bad players should escape or why every game should be unbalanced like swf. Yes there are more chill swf but they will still be doing better because it's a swf, take that away and they would play worse. Game requires both sides, nerfing killers because of bad teammates isn't fair and would kill the game. If killer was so easy more people would be playing it.

The second part of this about people not playing the other role is incredibly true. People that play both roles normally end up just being better at the game faster because they had to deal with the BS that they will then use in their own games.
By bs I assume you mean counters and play styles? Which in that case completely agree, I get that most people dont do killer as they find it harder, less enjoyable or just more effort which in that case it already explains it. Even me who has played both roles since release know I can improve in certain areas whether that be something like hag which I dont enjoy or survivor on yamo maps (I cant remember how to spell the damn maps lol, onion and spirits maps) dunno why but I struggle on these while most other are easy. But I accept that's an issue I need to improve on and not a balance issue

This could link back to a guys earlier point, survivors need a way to communicate outside of swf, a way for you to tell your team, 'do gens'.
Well no, comms is the issue swf isn't balanced especially when people can actually loops etc. Knowing where the killer is, which gens are close etc. Is a unfair advantage. If you feel the need to be told to do gens that's the issue, if you arent already doing your objective (your only one) then that's why you arent doing so well. If you arent in a chase be on a gen, use kindred and you'll know if you need to get a save etc. Plus extra benefits. Imo things shouldn't be handed to you, while I have a huge amount of game knowledge I do feel most survivors are way too high in ranks. 4 players like me not on coms is an easy 3man escape without meta perks. I honestly do wish you had a playback mode so you could watch your team and youd be surprised how inefficient and how often they arent doing anything. That's not the killer that's the survivors and we cant balance around that. (Seriously if you wanna get annoyed use bond, empathy, kindred and open handed and just watch how bad your team can be even at red ranks) lol

Well the majority of my playtime is 70 killer 30 survivor spanning 2.3k hours. I don't think any killers need a nerf. I think spirit could possibly be toned down a bit, because she is incredibly busted with Stridor, but I don't think anyone else needed a nerf in the roaster. Mainly Freddy and Twins they were fine in my opinion. You are correct though most survivors are the downfall of the entire team. Most survivors blame the killer, but that isn't the case that happens in the round. If you hook bomb like most survivors do then that's the survivors fault. If you crouch around while the killer isn't even remotely close or even willing to take a chase you are actively hurting your team.
As for spirit I feel stridor is okay but some of her addons need to be toned down, mainly the speed/duration. Iv played both roles since release so iv noticed when spirits do really well its because of the addons which allow her to adjust movements without the need to make the right reads (basically she can make the wrong players but addons give her alot of time to adjust multiple time) I dont feel iron will should fully counter a power but yeah I do agree alot of survivors seem to do that play style and wonder why they arent performing as well. I guess most forget it's a 4v1 and being efficient is important from gens to loops
-
Imo the killers arent the issue it's my team. Some reason I get players at rank 1-3 who never seem to do gens, trade hooks or cant do chases at all. Now I never expect survivors to be amazing but youd be surprised how little alot of people actually do in a match or how inexperienced they are. (One example is my team going down super fast in chases, so I expect a really good killer and then end up looping the same killer for far longer, sometimes 5min chases but once again within that long chase hardly any gen progress has been made) now that's not the killer being op that's my team being bad. I personally have yet to meet a killer I felt was op and I couldn't do anything against them. So either you arent as good as you think, the killer is a much higher skill than you or you're looking at the game as a 1v1. None of this is meant to be mean or anything but remember it's a 4v1, killers are meant to be strong (which most actually arent) as long as people are efficient most killers will lose regardless just due to gen speed, especially with gen defense. Remember rank means nothing so you could be versing an actual rank 1 killer with survivors who should be rank 10 skill wise...
-
@GodLikeTerror said:
It's hard to say, but what you are saying is true. Efficent survivors even a good solo team splits up on generators and hammers them out, but the case of this happening in a non SWF that is actually trying their hardest to win is very slim. Most survivors aren't aware that they are just not that good in my opinion. I'm not that great at survivor, but I do for the most part have knowledge about pretty much of all the roaster, since I main killer. Most survivors don't play killer. If they do it's not very much, so what ends up happening is, is that they don't know the POV of the killer they are going against, so they don't understand the counter to powers most time. Killer is kind of op in most solo rounds, and most SWF rounds simply because majority of people don't know tiles and or to counter the killer they are going against. In terms of efficient solo's and good swf's/deathsquads the killer is no longer the power role if they know how to do gens efficiently, and micromanage hook states.
So I noticed you said you wasnt the best survivor but still had understanding of the killers, do you think killers should be nerfed? Personally I feel alot of killers need slight buffs, I do consider myself one of those top % players as hell I know every tile, map, totem spawn etc. But i dont use meta perks and i never feel powerless. While I dont feel everyone should be an amazing survivor I do feel the biggest issue is alot of survivors dont do gens and tend to trade hooks etc. Which tends to be the downfall of their team than the killer was too op. I'm curious if you feel the same as or slightly different?
-
Just use your own mind, what works for others might not work for you. I'd say ignore rat liver now though as the benefit is far less.
-
DS still a good perk check. People that complain about the nerf abused it check. Does any information actually matter nope. Does rank matter nope.
-
Use faster throwing and faster laceration. Hit your blades. Use monitor, ruin, pop and discordance. Gives alotnof info and defense along side monitor for that small terror radius. Hes still weak, especially on certain maps but if you play on console aiming will be harder due to recoil etc.
-
Because rank means nothing and we must reward bad players so they feel like they're doing good and might continue playing the game
-
@xenotimebong said:
Half the time people give up because their teammates are bots and make baffling, game-ending decisions. Fix matchmaking/ranking/MMR/whatever so that people actually go in the ranks they belong in, and this phenomenon would reduce.
Honestly I doubt mmr will work, I'm sure you'll still get high rank players that only go for unhooks due to easy points and the other categories will reward them for not doing much at all like the current one. While different I expect the same flaws unless mmr is based on chases and objectives
@tuffler555 said:
i think you can report them for it (not like itll do anything but the option is there). but tbh i understand when people give up. id give up too if my teammate got found in a locker at 5 gens.
Yeah reports do nothing, just stupid how common this is, haven't played in weeks, jump on for the tome and so far 3 hours of 1-2 teammates giving up early, quitting or not doing anything each game...
-
@Vyne456 said:
They can get a matchmaking ban penalty for 3 or more depending on how they quit every time in game, and it will cost to you getting depipped three pips depending on rank you are.
Quitting does yes, but it's not that harsh but as for just giving up nothing and happens... like yeah a pip loss but pips mean nothing at all and neither does rank so the only people actually getting punished are those wanting to play an actual game
-
These challenges are easy as hell compared to the other ones. Last tome had challenges that took 3+ games minimum. The simple exp change is plenty to help tbh
-
Sorry but even base survivors can get through gens fast even if pop exists. The only reason killers win is bad survivors that dont touch gens. Seriously had a game where no one touched a gen... that isn't red rank.
-
Twins beat bad players, devs balance for bad players, meaning nerf twins so bad survivors can win. I mean its pretty obvious, when bad survivors complain about certain killers they get nerfed. Look at freddy for example, everyone calls it forever freddy not realising his addons only hit a very small % I think its 5% at max, that's like injure with thana... that's not why freddy is strong. But twins Will be just another killer I wont play at rank 1 sadly. Oh well less killers for survivors to verse I guess...
-
Actually most if those are within rank. Games matches within a 7 rank bracket and expands, as for new skins the crypt comes are out now.
-
Remind me why we are arguing? My post is about the broken keys in chests, its obviously a bug and a issue but my point is it ruins the game and needs to be addressed. Sadly I dont believe the devs will fix it unless constantly reminded, maybe if they acknowledged it then there wouldn't be an issue but when things like the no sound bug is in the game a year+ and is probably so far gone its unfixable now. Issues need to be listed and addressed asap or at best acknowledged and being worked on. Last I heard from the devs they said it wasnt an issue, which clearly isn't true. When fans and players play the game more than they do they should listen. Stop with the nerfing and unwanted changes and focus on the issues at hand. While I want content I want a working game more, keys are unfair for killers, it promotes selfish play by survivors, it ruins chests for items such as medkit, flashlight and even toolboxes which can change and improve gameplay instead of free and boring escape. Leaving bugs unaddressed and acknowledged while balancing and rewarding bad players will only kill the game, bugs ruin the fun. Bad players can get better, unbalanced isn't fun. Things that arent fun lose players...
