  • Just let go of the gen before someone gets hooked then get back on it after...

Look I know alot of bad survivors want the game to hand hold you but just play smart. I'm honestly tired of seeing comments like this when it has a clear and easy counter.

You can let go as soon as someone is downed or if you want to be efficient as possible like me just let go as you see the survivors aura as they're getting hooked (the aura shows before they're actually hooked) BOOM easy counter, as always.

  • It was a killer sided patch in terms of what the focus was, and killer was definitely buffed more.

But one patch of buffs doesnt suddenly make the game killer sided but as always people over react.

The people who always moan about killer will always moan about killer, the people struggling always struggled.

Too many people like to think they're gods gift but when they get beat it must be nerfed when in reality that person just isnt as good as they think they are and often doesnt understand what they're even complaining about.

I'll remain a survivor main till incentives or killers in a better spot at high level to where I dont have to play mega dirty and sweaty to just try get a draw

  • They're going fine, I'd say I win easier alot of games (by win easier I mean faster than usual for a win)

Still escape far more than I die and if the killer goes for hooks it seems to be an easy win which is kinda a shame as tunneling seems most effective but that's not really fun to verse.

Still alot of DCs and hackers though sadly

What may be a graphics option to you is an accessibility option to others.

I’ve met people who can’t play certain killers without Shadowborn because of motion sickness.

Iv also met people who use stretch res and filters because it "looks better"

  • Because everyone would just go to the same POV for a competitive advantage, and some players would feel forced into it to have the same advantages even if they dont like the look of it.

While I'm all for options and accessibility settings this is one I dont much see the need for, keep the pov stuff to other games.

Side note, your camera will glitch through so much stuff too and make certain tiles play completely different, it's why stretch res was an issue....

I think most people are blaming the patch because all the basekit buffs to Killers, and the ridiculous over-nerfing of a lot of survivor perks (not Dead hard. I've seen plenty of survivors, myself included not give a rat's arse about it and if it caused a lot of problems, then I have no issue it's gone). So things like Decisive Strike; an anti-tunneling perk- were made useless. Devs tried to sell us the idea that OTR was vastly superior to it in everyway. But it's not. It's no where near as good as DS (in my opinion. I've been tunneled relentlessly and OTR barely did anything and it deactivates during end game so why bother?). Iron Will made useless. I mean, Botany Knowledge was a buff for SWF, a nerf for Solo Q (so if you run it, and you pull a brown med kit, you can't heal yourself). BK was perfectly fine. It didn't need a buff OR a nerf either way. Self Care nerf is just laughable. What about Calm Spirit? Such an innocuous perk, but now it has a huge penalty to run it.

Devs and even Killers on the forums said the issue was: 'I have to camp and tunnel to have a shot because gens are too fast!". So now they aren't. But that actually buffed camping and tunneling, and Killers are still running very oppressive gen regression builds where actually completing gens is ridiculously frustrating while still; surprise! Camping and tunneling! Because now it's a guaranteed 4k against Solos. The "Just do geeennnzzzzzz" counter argument is dead in the water. That's not possible now- UNLESS you in a 4 man SWF on comms maybe.

So they took a playerbase (Solo Q casuals), and extended the least fun, most tedious aspect of gameplay. And for reasons I will never understand, they thought Killer's would have a universal Honour Code and they would just choose not to use the easiest most reliable strats for victory (camping and tunneling + gen regression build). Imo, that was dumb. They thought the 15 year old in Liverpool taking his puberty out on survivors would somehow think: "Oh I don't have to camp anymore! What a fun game I shall have actually hooking survivors and looking for another one!". No, we get that 15 year old as Plague puking constantly on the first hooked survivor until they die.

So it's the idea they completely left casual Solo Q out of their precious "balancing". See, SWF's aren't having any problems (shocking!). I think Solo Q expected them to do something that would make our matches not as depressing either before they buffed Killers, or in the same patch. But we got a: "Hey guys! Exciting new Meta! Oh, Solos, we know we mentioned you in January but we've put off whatever that is off for at least 12 months. Yeahhhhh we're not even talking about it :( .......LOOKIT FENG'S NEW HAT. It GLOWS".

I think people blame "The Patch" as a short cut when we're expressing frustration at the long neglected issues, and this patch buffing the most irritating and oppressive aspects of the game was just hard to swallow.

Exactly! That's the issue though the patch isnt to blame.

The devs just really need to sort out camping and tunneling and help out solo Q a little (though I feel a better SBMM would be best)

I just dont like how everyone is blaming the patch when the core issues (tunneling and camping) can be addressed separately.

This comment by jimmypopjr is the best description of most people's recent experience with the patch.

"I can only speak for myself, a soloq player with 2000+ hours.

This update hit me pretty hard.

I love this game, but not unconditionally. I don't expect or need to win/escape very much, I just want to have fun and not be so frustrated that dc'ing feels like a valid option. I don't want to be tunneled or see others get tunneled.

But since the update, the game hasn't been very fun for me. More than 50% of my matches end with me thinking I need to take a break. When the matches are frustrating, the matchmaking feels unbalanced, and the BP and XP rewards are paltry (especially when tunneled out in the first few minutes)... well then DCs and long queues seem like a natural result.

It sucks that a game this fun can have such lows to go along with the highs. That it can feel like some people use the game as a conduit to make others feel as badly as possible.

And to make things worse, this sub/community, which generally I find to be great, is just packed full of people trying to invalidate people's opinions/experiences with their own anecdotal opinions/experiences.

So now I'm stuck with a game I love that's no longer fun and rewarding enough to be worth my time, and a community that genuinely doesn't care that I'm disappointed by how the patch impacted me (but will care enough to tell me why I'm wrong, or how I was carried by the old meta that I didn't actually use).

    Feels bad, man. "

But that was alot of killers experience before the patch...

And like I said excluding tunneling which does need to be addressed... so that comment doesnt really impact the patch just highlights the tunneling issue more which no one is denying

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/338083/patch-is-fine-you-just-climbed-higher-in-mmr-than-you-should-of

Why is everyone so sold on DH being so OP. I'm still Iridescent this patch as I am all patches. I never run DH. If my teammates did, it hasn't impacted my ability to get to Iridescent survivor. There are plenty of perks that help extend chases, such as Lithe or Overcome that provide speed boosts, helping you get to key escape/loop points in time etc.

What I will say is, if we buffed killers 10000% and nerfed survivors 10000% and make gens 1000 hours to complete, is it still a case of "you just climbed higher in MMR than I should have?". Where do you draw the line? I can't believe how many people ignore the 10/15% buff to all killer actions such as breaking pallets and kicking gens etc. That is a massive buff that seems to go unspoken of by all killers. Curious to hear your thoughts.

Wow a whole 0.3 saved on breaking a pallets so you can still reach the next tile or even the one after that...

And saying DH wasnt strong before the patch just highlights where you are in knowledge or skill for this game, either or.

But exaggerating like this doesnt help anything.

It wasnt BT basekit. It was 5 seconds, which doesnt leave you enough time to get up the basement stairs.

It does give you time to get up the stairs, and it was still a basekit change.. that's like saying the breaking stuff faster can be ignored because a survivor can get to the next tile anyway...

You're giving double standards there... but yes tunneling is an issue, the base bt didnt address that issue

Solo was suck, now it suck more. Even less will to play Solo.

But I guess thats how they balance things. When Coh was fresh released, I feel the perk is so stupidly strong, eventhough I play survivor more.

We all know solo Q is a mixed bag, but that's why they are buffing it as they have said.

Would a solo Q buff be a good idea with this patch? Sure but we will have to wait till next patch. I'm not sure how they will stop randoms quitter or make sure you arent paired wrongly but it's a solo Q issue not a patch issue

  • @Pulsar said:

Tunneling and camping have become more commonplace and less able to be countered. Yes, OTR is good but the DS nerf means it's worth it to tunnel.

    Longer gens buffs camping.

Very annoying and tedious builds. Forever Legion, for example. Strong? Not necessarily. Tedious and boring? Absolutely.

Killer chase potential was buffed and Survivor chase potential was massively nerfed.

Agree on the first part, tunneling and camping needs to be addressed, but like I said you cant use that as a reason because that's just a tunneling and camping issue...

100% tunneling and camping should be addressed though, and if it was the patch clearly wouldn't be bad.

As for the last part I disagree, holding forwards was a lame thing to do everytime someone got hit, you have plenty of time to make it to the next tile or two (just not the third or more) so it encourages less hold W and more actual looping gameplay

  • @Dead_Harder said:

    Solo Q sucks extra

Solo Q always sucked though... that's not this patches fault, and the lower mmr you go the worse solo Q will get.

But you cant blame a patch that didnt change solo Q directly... if solo q is an issue then solo Q should be addressed, not the patch

  • @Marigoria said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3101977#Comment_3101977

Still perks basekit, that you would have to equip before and wouldnt give you room to stack 4 slowdowns. How is this so difficult to understand?

The same way solo q survivors want kindred basekit, so I can use that slot for something else instead.

Survivors got BT basekit... just because one patch was aimed at killers doesnt make the whole game killer sided...

The devs themselves said alot of killers where underperforming and that's why these changes was added as well as mixing up the meta which they did.

  • @ThanksForDaily said:

I love when people trying to find...not that clever reasons to justify this patch. Heres the today example.

Its about mmr. I climbed so high that I didn't deserve to be there. Clearly mmr working as intended, its well made and sophisticated. 🙄

    You got me good today.

Iv never in my life said this SBMM is good... however alot of people will have climbed higher than they should have with the old patches with stacked second chance perks especially DH.

If killers didnt camp/tunnel the patch is fine, people are looking at an issue but blaming the patch

  • @Zexbunny said:

Why this argument doesn't work: this would have corrected itself after about a week.

But it hasn't. Because it won't. Because it isn't the issue at all

The issue is that camping and tunneling were given massive buffs, and killers were essentially given an extra perk slot by removing the need for chase perks and removing BBQ and chili's bp bonus.

With the new chase powers killers have, they can feel free to run 3 or 4 slowdown or regression perks. Throw this on top of the extra time it takes to do generators and you've got a recipe for disaster. Throw in a removal of fear of decisive strike, along with faster chased and if course survivors aren't having a good time.

The funny thing is BHVR said they wanted to make it so killers didn't feel the need to run regression perks, and instead made it so they don't feel the need to run anything but regression perks.

Camping and tunneling is an issue, even before the patch dropped I shared my concerns with it and explained it would be bad without additional changes.

But that's not the patch being imbalanced that's the devs not addressing tunneling and camping which they need to do.

And killers will always run slowdown because at base it's just not good enough especially as you climb higher in mmr.

I'm a sweaty survivor main or whatever I'm classed as, but a killer without gen defense/regression has and always will be easy. But tunneling and camping is the biggest issue currently

If threads keep getting made about "get good without dead hard", I have all the right to comment about not using it and mentioning everything else that got buffed on the killer side, since you guys conveniently keep omitting it.

Once again, as I stated in the OP.

JUST BECAUSE YOU DIDNT USE DH DOESNT MEAN YOUR TEAM DIDNT.

Just because you didnt doesnt mean there couldn't still be 3DHs massively improving how your team did in chases... so even if you didnt directly use the perk you will be indirectly feeling its nerf through teammates...

Saying that people escaped games they shouldnt is just taking guesses. DH didnt do anything for bad players as they didnt even know how to pull it off efficiently. DH nerf just effect good players as they now have less defense against S-Tier killers. Also most people are basically on the same MMR. High MMR is more a myth than reality, cause the matchmaking is just by far to vague. You see players that are highly skilled playing with low skilled players as a standard match. MMR does nothing here.

At the very low level sure, let's not act like pressing DH for distance was a hard thing to pull off and even casual players could do it while the top mmr would get insane usage out of it, but they still can now with the new DH.

It's not a guess DH impacted alot of games, at all levels and even if it didnt always lead to a win it would of made it closer.

And mmr is a bad system I completely agree, but sadly time of day and servers also impact the players skill you would see as well as backfill

But everyone always goes to this streamer is winning every killer game, when that streamer is playing 8hours a day so they kinda should...

But there are people out there who while can play well arent in high mmr, some survivor main streamers are like it. Really good loopers but tend to mess about all game pulling of "tecs" on low mmr killers for views... but because of the bad mmr system being escapes only it doesnt matter, they can be chased for 5mins and get camped and the games says they're bad...

  • @Sluzzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3101885#Comment_3101885

It shouldn't take but a few games for your MMR to drop. Survivors still can't win.

Yes they can, I guess all the games me and others have won are just moved to the matrix

  • @RinsDoormat said:

People are definitely lying about not using DH lol. I'm probably mid-tier with both survivor and killer, and I always play survivor solo. The number of pre-patch games where there wasn't at least someone using Dead Hard, whether on my team or against me, was probably less than ten percent; I kept track of around 60 games (30 each) on both sides for a while out of curiosity over meta perk usage, and it was 6% of games with no Dead Hard; that trend didn't change substantially in my other games. So when people say the single strongest perk in the game getting nerfed is unimportant and 'AcTuAlLy I DiDn'T UsE iT', I know either:

    1) they're lying anyway, or

    2) they don't realize that the vast majority DID use it, and their anecdotes mean nothing for how much the nerf changed things

I would say DH nerf accounts for about a quarter of the total difference in Soloq results; over nerfed perks (DS/Iron Will) for another quarter, and killer perks/buffed M1 for the other half. So I don't even think it was that big a factor overall, but pretending it doesn't matter is nonsense.

Well the devs released the numbers on DH usage. IT WAS USED AT ALL MMR LEVELS, it just got more used the higher you went.

But people like to act like they never used it or never seen it, even though a bunch of the people who claim to use it also said "just bait it out" or "DH is fine"

I know I could see 3-4DH every game, I always used it and I still do

  • @Sluzzy said:

Killer mains will say anything to justify the completely unfair and broken patch.

The game is so unfair and killer sided, MMR doesn't even work.

It's funny because you play more killer than I do lol.

And mmr doesnt work because it's a bad system and too many people got to an mmr they didnt belong

  • @Tiufal said:

MMR isnt an issue to justify the mess they produced.

I mean it is... so many people escaped games they shouldn't and now they dont have DH or their team dont have DH as well as the update pushing for everyone to contribute yeah.. it's a big reason

  • @Pulsar said:

Tired of people plugging their ears and burying their heads in the sand.

This update SUCKS for casual Survivors.

I don't really think it needs time, I'd rather just not play at all tbh. I get maybe one good match a night. Not worth it lol

So all the things that sucks for casual killers was fine? And any good player as killer?

So it's fine for one side to hate it but not the other? Seems a little unfair especially when the patch actually made very little difference if people actually play properly...

  • @Marigoria said:

Dead Hard this and Dead Hard that... what about the ones of us who didn't use Dead Hard?

I was already using the same build I'm using now (Just changed inner strength for prove thyself), so what was carrying me to a MMR where I did not belong? Kindred? Bond? Lithe? My build was not nerfed in any way.

It's not about Dead Hard. It's about increased gen times (80 to 90) and killers still stacking slowdowns, plus chases being nerfed (breaking pallets faster, 2 stacks of STBL basekit, survivors speed boost after hit reduced, bloodlust 2 and 3 buffed.

All those things by themselves don't seem like a lot, but them changing all of that at the same time in a single update, it does stack and made things worse.

Solo Q was in a already not great spot, and now it's even worse.

I explained about the ones using DH so you should probably of read first.

And those changes make very little difference in the big picture, biggest issues with solo Q are the same issues as before the patch nothing changed...

Solo Q issues are randoms not doing anything, them dcing etc. Which is the exact same now but you shouldn't win as a 3v1 or that makes every game a all 4 do something an imbalanced mess.

“Incentives” that isn’t gonna fix anything. People are gonna still camp and tunnel because it’s easier and leads to wins. They should I don’t know.. actually fix it

    @dspaceman20 said:

Most of the updates is fine if your in a swf. Even I would admit that I overreacted. But Solo definitely got no part of the stick. Not even the short end.

But it's undeniable that camping and tunneling was buffed this patch and the basekit additions to handle that is ineffective. They need to do something to adequately addressed camping and tunneling

Once again, I'm agreeing it should be punished... but whys it so hard to see killers do it because it's most effective? If you want tunneling etc. To stop you punish those who do it BUT also reward those who dont, this means the people who dont tunnel are not only not punished but rewarded.

  • @Beatricks said:

Enjoy it while it lasts. I decided, against my better judgement, to try and finish the last 3 tomes challenges before I call it quits. Played 34 games, escaped a grand total of 3 times (one against a farming Pinhead and one against a baby Pinhead funnily enough, there was only one single game where one person was sacrificed and everyone else got out, every other game was a 3k or a 4 man out). Games are still as wretched as before. Thana Legions, Startrsuck Nurses sending themselves to Midwich, survivors DCing or giving up hooks, urban evading Jakes while the Killer is a very experienced Blight, etc. Nothing has changed, SoloQ is unplayable.

None of that is a patch issue but a teammate issue. And we cant buff survivors just so they dont DC or so you can win with bad players on your team.

You're meant to win as a team not a 3v1, and you also shouldn't win of everyone isnt contributing to the match (like the people that dont do gens)

Its sucks but that's a playerbase issue and an mmr issue.

  • Congratulations!

Someones up for a nice juicy bloodpoint boost on the 13th!

  • @gatsby said:

First of all, I notice that tunneling is easiest most when I play Nurse and Legion this patch.

I hit a Survivor as soon as they're unhooked so they get deep wounded to take Dead Hard off the table and its pretty easy to chase the down. Decisive Strike is the basically the same amount of time as Blink/Frenzy fatigue even if in the rare case someone has it. With Nurse, I can down someone pick them up, eat Decisive, down them again and hook them in under 30 seconds.

Tunneling has always been effective, but I feel like there's really less to discourage it then ever. It turned from being high risk to slightly easier than chasing a healthy Survivor.

Honestly, if this is the direction the game is going. Survivors need a repair speed boost every time a teammate dies because early 3v1s are becoming more and more common. Something has to make tunneling out an early kill less optimal.

Excuse me. LEAVE MY DH ALONE.

DH is still an amazing perks and I still use it constantly, actually feels rewarding and skillful to pull it off which is a good thing...

Every time I succeed at my DH I just go "yeeeeee, speedy af boi"

But no DH nerf didnt make tunneling, it just stopped bad players abusing a OP perk.

DS not so much either, killers just know survivors are throwing a strop over it a d not running it so easy tunnel...

While tunneling is an issue for a few reasons, mainly fun you should reward people for not tunneling a d punish those who do... it's a double incentive that way and just makes game more consistently fun

  • @Tsulan said:

What about good Billys? Are they suddenly also busted?

The argument that good nurses are busted isn´t really a valid statement for me. Simply because the amount of good nurses is so incredible small.

Her kill rate is already the lowest one and i firmly believe that it would be even lower, if some survivors didn´t instantly disconnect/suicide when they face her. Instead of learning how to play against her.

I had a dog and his name was called BINGO

But yeah I agree, I mean it sucks seeing any killer so often but I wouldn't say nurse is broken, just takes a good survivor like it takes a good killer to play her

  • 100%

I'm sorry but their systems are bad, I dont get why anyone is even supportive of them when it comes to cheaters.

Sure they said they banned X amount of cheaters but what's that? All the really obvious ones any other system could instantly track and ban automatically?

Worse game with anticheat iv played, played evil dead which had a few hackers and they dropped am update to their systems instantly and never seen one after.

BHVR need a better automated system, like how can a bot cheater not be detected and banned...

  • My experience is getting better as survivor, slowly less and less people are giving up and actually playing and iv been doing really well. Even if I die multiple others tend to escape.

Biggest issues for me is tunneling, its sucks but I get why it's a thing. We need to reward those who dont and punish those who do (double incentives)

I cant say the games in a worse spot, still win more games than I lose as survivor and I dont really play killer since SBMM but it's nice having slightly longer games which needing to use x perks

  • I'm what youd call a sweat and at high mmr but I'd still queue for the casual mode and that's simply because I play games for fun not to sweat everygame.

I actually quit the game before this update because all i seen was blight, nurse with the same perks and its boring. Now I can play survivor and enjoy myself alot more (providing people stop DCing)

People have adjusting to do for sure, and yes there are some game issues I can agree but the patch did good changes and definitely a head in the right direction

  • I'm playing solo Q really well, I'm still able to do gens efficiently and loop the killer for ages at a time.

My teams a mixed bag, sometimes I get entitled players rage quit early and other games I get people actually trying and we do really well and often get multiple escapes...

Solo Q has always had the issue of randos quitting like child or having bad matchmaking to where you'll get some people not doing gens.

But should survivors really win a 3v1 and if people on your team arent contributing? I dont think so...

  • If you're struggling as much as you claim I can assure you are not high mmr.

Patch is fine, it's about time killers got some good health changes. And you will always see gen regression and gen slow down because it can still be an issue against good survivors (like at high mmr)

    Biggest issues atm are:

    • Survivors throwing fits over the patch and giving up when it's not bad.
    • Hard tunneling, I get why it's done at times but we definitely need to look at it by rewarding those who dont and punish those who do (double incentive to play in a more fun and nice way for everyone)
    • Nurses range addons, honestly I'm still beating nurses but on some maps the range is meh to deal with.
    • Miss matched games, some games just throws whoever on your team which can be an issue.
    • Finally some maps, some just arent a good experience from massively one sided maps to technical issues like haddonfield house of pain
  • Depends, if I get a team that's not very efficient 5-10mins (which is good)

If my team is my skill roughly 5mins.

Games imo should be 6mins+ but if you are having games over 15mins long that's definitely on your team whether that's one or more people not pulling their weight.

  • No the games not dying.

Too many people are use to easier wins or being carried while the current game forces all players to participate and actually play (do gens and loop, not just walk round being inefficient)

As for solo Q it's a mixed bag, yesterday I had so many entitled survivors quit or give up the games was a lost cause. However today iv escaped most of my games or made it to EGC and died saving someone else.

Game isnt balanced for bad players anymore, some people have alot of adjusting to do in mmr

  • Fun can be an argument, but issue is people dont care for other people's fun and just theirs and that's why it's a bad thing.

Some people hate certain killers and call them unfun because they feel they struggle against them yet alot of players can play against them fine.

But iv always been one to think of others, I get called a killer main for alot of what I say but in reality I'm a survivor main and understand certain things arent fair or fun for the other role.

The biggest issue I see is "I didnt escape, that game was unfun and unfair" when in reality they, or their team played bad or worse than the killer.

Personally I feel we should encourage longer games and balance for skill and hooks so camping &tunneling is punished.

But survivors dont like longer gens because "boring" but you cant expect a killer to do chases on all different people if he doesnt have time.

Theres 2 sides to pvp, your fun doesnt matter more than your opponents

I guess you're right. I wish it was easier to coordinate with solos, though.

Also, I hadn't noticed before, but I like your username !

Oh trust me I know the game rough for new players, iv tried teaching new player and help them get into it and its definitely alot to take in and solo Q is definitely a mixed bag and as someone who has been playing solo since its release iv seen it all.

Yesterday 70% of my games had a survivor dc or give up while today i have escaped 13/17 games so it's all hit and miss while people adjust and settle into a new mmr bracket

And thanks! I thought it was a fitting name lol

I understand that a game should not be balanced only to make new player's lives easy, but it shouldn't balance around top tier players either.

Surely there is a middle ground that doesn't make the game suck for beginners and casuals?

It's not balanced for the top, I'd say its balanced more towards the middle of people who do gens and understand a loop to some extent.

You dont have to be a god looper, but it pushes people to start playing better and as a team as before too many people got in an mmr way higher than they should be (it's a bad ranking system tbf but it people still got carried)

Killer wins at low mmr, survivors easily win at high mmr and the middle is a mix but it does require your team to all be actively playing as it should

Alone the fact that you got upvotes just shows how many people aren't good as killer if you have people like me with several thousands of hours and all the other good killer mains we just win now every round with even just A tier killers I have killer mains leaving this game bc they have no challenge anymore without having to play on a counter map or meme addons and perks

Edit even comp four mans are no match anymore on a good map

Yeah I'm not seeing that, sounds like made up survivor bs to me. All the well known killer mains are still playing and alot say people are over reacting.

As a beginner in the game (started a couple of months ago and play infrequently), I'd beg to differ.

Even on comms with one friend and without teammates actively throwing, our escape rate is ridiculous. The game was already hard to learn before, but at least we had some escapes and it felt encouraging.

Literally the only escape I got yesterday was because a Bubba took mercy on me and allowed me to wiggle out and open the gate.

Game is rough for new players in general, you have alot to learn. But we cant balance a game around new players... I know it sucks but that ruins all other levels of play

  • Like I keep saying, when survivors are all trying and actually playing the balance is good and if anything still towards the survivors.

Biggest issue is how easy tunneling is, that's all but they need to reward non tunnelers and punish those who do, double incentive

  • @GannTM said:

They buffed so many basekit mechanics killers have and what did survivors get? A 5 second BT. It’s insulting how much they catered to just killers this patch, and it hurt solo queue big time, yet you’re still acting like the game is purely survivor sided.

Killers got buffed because they needed it, stop acting like this one patch reflects everything. Yes the patch was aimed at killers but that's because killers werent performing as they should and got buffed.

Just because killers got a few 0.3 buffs doesnt make them OP. And as for the 10second extra gen time was to compensate for the mass amount of gen regression perks nerfed.

Game is still 100% in the survivors favor if you ignore people not playing properly and tunneling.

Why should people that waste time and ignore gens, not try and cant lead on a chase win?

I understand it's frustrating for you. I don't d/c or kill myself unless there is a chance a final survivor can get hatch, I'll kill myself...but...I can't be upset with them. It sucks a lot, but...dude, the 4 slow down games with hard tunneling lately..I think so many people are just over it. I had a match against Legion earlier...27 minutes long. Thank goodness he was terrible, or it would have been so much worse. Dying Light/Thanat/Overcharge/Call of Brine....Double Mend time. Absolute suffering. Simply loading in and seeing Thanat when you repair a gen I think just insta frustrates people. Again, not saying it's okay, but punishing people by making them have a 15 minute penalty isn't the answer. Perhaps fixing the reason people are d/cing is the answer. I've had more D/Cs since this patch than I've had in over a year. I think that says something.

The patch is fine, people need to stop being so entitled. Seriously half the time people are quitting verse barely any slow downs and I'd we can win as a 3v1 or get close it just shows the patch wasnt bad.

You dc you get punished, you dont reward the child throwing a tantrum by making the game suit them.

Game is still survivor sided if people stopped giving up all the time

Steep DC penalties have never been considered healthy for other competitive games, and won't be here either. Especially when you factor in how unstable many regional servers are, and how unstable some of the console ports are.

Nothing says good publicity like punishing your own paying customers for the games inherent stability issues.

How many genuine disconnects would get caught up in your revenge fantasy?

And yes, I know many DCs are actual rage quits. But in that regard, perhaps the devs should be investigating why there is such a huge increase in DCing, instead of knee-jerk penalizing it.

As a console player this is just exaggerated, iv been playing the game since release and there have been very few situations.

Let's not act like disconnecting is a common occurrence, that's just a massively exaggerated excuse used by people who like to DC just like stretch res "looks better"

They need to increase penalties or pair players who DC together so I'm not stuck with entitled players stage quitting ruining over 50% of my games

It’s gotten out of control to the point where I don’t even wanna play survivor anymore.

Its definitely out of control, I have came off for the day myself as 8/15 games had a DC or suicide on hook...

Like I get the odd DC could be real life issues but these just arent, some iv even messaged asking "why did you quit? We could of had that game" and I just get "CBA to play that game" or threats...

Certainly is ruining alot of the fun tbh

I would say it should be back to 5 seconds

I want longer games with multiple hooks too but camping and tunneling is the antithesis of that. They have to make something better that discourages tunneling and camping and being a somewhat unviable strategy outside of endgame

Well SBMM for kills is a big issue that caused this as it's easy to manipulate kills over hooks so it makes balancing an issue.

I still get use from DS, but I'd much rather the suggestion I made earlier in this post to someone about a whole DS rework

5 seconds gave survivors a chance at least.

3 seconds is not good at all

It's not good but it's better tthan nothing especially as no killer expects in now. I'd personally make DS basekit and change the perk like I said in the above comment.

I want longer games where multiple hooks across all players is encouraged and rewarded

I have more tunnellers and campers and sadly OTR is not that good perk. Because they are hitting you after you get unhooked. So it does not help you so much.

    New DS is just joke.

So i will wait at least for DS fix. They should make it 5 seconds again.

Well that's why I'm running both to counter base game issues currently, I do wish we could move away from tunneling and kills to separate chases and hooks.

I'd rather a better DS built in so for example survivors now get base DS, lasts for 4 seconds. However DS now has 2 stacks, this gives you the ability to use DS after a second hook stage or have the ability to give a teammate who doesnt have DS your extra stack upon unhooking.

Would be pretty cool if your teammate is getting hard tunneled and I can give them a stack of my DS to try help them

  • @rvzrvzrvz said:

DS is literally useless at 3 seconds, there is no meta all perks are pretty boring, closest to meta are OTR, prove thyself and CoH

I mean it's not.. it gets you to a pallet unless it's a dead zone and even then youd be dead with 5seconds.. plus is all about wasting the killers time.

And perks arent boring they just arent op...

I did not touch the game for 5 days, i don't think i will play it for a while. They need to fix issues, game is not fun at all.

Maybe it is matchmaking issue, i don't know. But whatever is it, they need to fix.

What's not fun? In your experience anyway.

For me it's the tunneling and the games where my team just have no intention on playing properly or try to win.

My team still win far more than my team loses (as a solo q) but those losses are such clear losses from people giving up/quitting or having low mmr players versing high mmr killers etc.

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

My Survivor build also contains 2 second chance Perks, tho mine are way, way less meta.

Flip-Flop and Tenacity work pretty well together, but they still kinda suck

I dont find killers slugging much tbh, it's more of a hard tunnel as they dont expect DS anymore.

Definitely a fun build but I'd never get use out of it sadly

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

My survivor build is: do not play solo untill they fix solo-q problems. Works for me.

Solo Q is fine, feel it's more of a SBMM and entitlement issue tbh.

Either you get people that no idea what they're doing or you get someone give up... that's the issue with solo Q imo not really balance, still survivor sided tbh.

    @Dead_Harder said:

That sounds like a pretty great build. More people should run OTR and DS together imo. Yeah it can be 2 useless perks if killer doesnt tunnel but if they do, it would be devastating.

And new DH is pretty awesome. It takes precision and timing now but no other perk lets you get out of a really sticky situation at the press of a button.

Overall, pretty neat build, i dont see an issue with it as a killer main. Specially now that they are more in line with other perks. Well expect DS, that probably needs a bump up to 4 seconds of stun.

It's an okay build, it helps do what its suppose to do but its definitely not a build I'd want to run but more feels forced just to make sure I can stay in a game and not be tunneled out.

DH is fun to use though, that's probably the one perk I picked because of its run and rewarding playstyle, just a shame the others are feel forced. But I'm glad people dont mind builds as much now
