That was made it better before. I could see how my ping would be in the match. If it was yellow or red, I'd skip the lobby and not have to endure a painful match of lag

Ah yes, better for you, but overall worse for everyone else because of Queue delays. I understand you, I also want only good ping games 24/7 but that's not likely to happen every time now and I'm okay with that. Do you see why the game cannot allow you this privilege now?

There have been a ton of posts on this forum that have provided specific examples of unfair loops and portions of maps. All BHVR needs to do is actually listen to the feedback they are already receiving daily on this forum

I spend a lot of time on this forum,

I swear I have never seen a specific example of someone going through a loop or map with detailed descriptions of problems with arguments.

But since they are so prevalent, surely you can link me to 5 right now? :)

I mean players consistently getting poor connectivity during games makes them stop playing... which screws over the queue system...

Idk if you played during the times when the game showed connection to Killer, but someone leaving because of ping happened way more than getting an occasional poor connectivity game these days. The system needs to queue eventually, not hang forever?

  • @foodie said:

    Holy guacamole 846! GIB

That aside, I've noticed the same. My internet is not that fast but I recently, meaning a few days ago, I updated my internet to double what it was and yet my ping is higher that I think it should be, and sometimes I get into matches where my ping is over 150.

I can't understand why the game puts me in lobbies of high ping, nor why I cant see my ping before I load into the match.

If you could see your ping before the match, you would have players who quit any match over 30 ping, screwing over the Queue system.

  • Flat disagree, Show us a loop or a part of a map and then give us your arguments for why its poorly designed?

At least then BHVR has a chance of picking your brain on this and solving the issue if they agreed.

  • Do whatever you think will give you the best result. mix up the strategies.

  • Post five matches on Youtube for proof.

  • With no generators there are nothing for the 11 survivors who are not being chased to do.

    It would be incredibly boring.

  • 100% disagree I played during ranks since 2017 and when they changed to SBMM.

The new matchups are by far better.

More consistent at bringing a better experience for the average player.

There is nothing for me to hate about the new system. What should I hate?

  • Bloodhound

in addition: Running over consecutive bloodpools increases movement speed by stacks. max 5% extra movement.

Running over another survivors bloodpool resets the perk.

  • What if they got different people to do the Dead by Daylight voice?

  • I would be great if bHVR would align terror radius and lullaby in some way.

it IS extremely bad for the game that Lullaby Killers cant engage so many perk options.

  • The reason is BHVR want to avoid Camping/Tunneling as much as possible that they will prevent you from making devilish killer moves in favor giving survivors a chance. It creates a false double standard, problem is Nurse, Billy and Bubba are already out.

if they recreated those killers today, expect an engine problem mechanic when revving near a hooked person. or OUT OF BREATH for Nurse.

I want to create a big post about this problem as really hope they make Killers that dont flap dead when near a hooked, cause i think that just makes the killer worse.

It should already be finished. PTB's always finish on a Monday.

Could you guys not put it on a lil longer? I kinda want to play the Knight again

  • Why am I not allowed to use my Power to defend the hooks I make?

Why am I not allowed to use my Power if a Survivor unhooks in my face?!?

You need to answer these questions.

As well as the survivor uploading videos like ''How to counter Wesker'' I ask the pro killer mains of you: how to counter God-Looper with Wesker. I really only have the problem with Weskers antiloop. With Spirit e.g. I rarely have problems with looping. But then I see killers on YouTube who destroy loopers with Wesker. But in what feels like every lap, my Wesker is useless. Do you have any advice for me?

Wesker is not an Anti Looper unless you are lucky.

Wesker is strongest when he has a clear shot with his power.

EDIT: What you do as Wesker is you just m1 at a loop.

  • “adda ni ka dingir asar ku me" from the mori

was translated from Sumarian to mean: “send them to your mouth god to come lie down with me.”

  • No Camping is still strong cause Survivors do not rush Gens when a person is camped,

Instead, Survivors crouch near the face camped hoping to get the unhook, or run straight there and get downed too.

  • Well its true, I really had not done so for a while.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully Mandy knows.

  • @Mandy said:

BHVR/Behaviour Interactive is a large company who has always made games, this is the companies 30th year for example so it's a long standing company. There will always be other games that we work on, our own games and games for hire for other companies...none of that affects Dead by Daylight in any way, as the DbD Team only works on DbD for the most part, resources etc are not removed from DbD for any of these other games.

Ill give you a cookie if you make sure 3 more resources gets allocated to the map team.

I want more maps is what Im trying to say.

  • as far as I remember Survivors are extremely picky, if they could look at Killer profiles and if they got even the slightest clue that a killer would be into camping or tunneling. they would dodge.

  • Its not split, you can Q with both Servers.

  • I really want a Survivor perk that can be used to trick the Killer into going for you over the unhooked.

How? By pretending to be injured.

When running healthy activate this perk to become pretend to be injured, you will bend over, cry and moan. and splash ketchup on the ground for up to X seconds total. This will also make you appear injured on the Killer's HUD.

Your true health state still remains.

    ...or is it? Ehh? Ehhh?

My thinking was either way it'll take employee knowledge to answer, and none of the other forums fit any better either. Tech didn't really seem like the right forum to ask, just the best forum for the question... providing the most direct route to official interaction & actually intersecting with a general support purpose.

Gotta say Ask The Community sure isn't looking equipped to better answer my question after-all... at least so far.

    It isnt.

Nah OP is right. Give all survivors pistols and let them shoot killer. And add sex too.

David Tapp, Ash Williams, Jill Valentine, Leon Scott Kennedy, Ada Wong and Rebecca Chambers.

All have potential for having Survivor Powers including firearms..

  • This isn't a technical issue.

  • How about Survivors get incentives to play Adam, huh? 🙄

I actually like the idea. 🤩

Bhvr could make a system that lasts a week or until all done, then it resets.

    • You get 100% rooster bonus for 1 game for each character in a role.
    • Once a week pass or all characters have been played, the rooster bonus resets for either one role or both.

Seems easy enough to implement, but... will it actually do what you think it will?

  • @Whoudini said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3172224#Comment_3172224

The idea is unworkable and it is never going to be implemented ever.

Luckily you don't get to decide this.

  • I dont think we should encourage players to use their DS as early as possible.

  • @Bartlaus said:

My suggestions for balancing in brief:

Tunneling - "killer decides to chase a survivor again":

3 sec Decisive Strike basekit + it should be active after each unhook unless all gens are done

    Endgame slug:

If there are only two survivors left in the match, then a slugged survivor should be able to stand up after 60 seconds.

    Camping

If the killer is too close to a hook for too long, then let the hooked survivor spawn on another hook (PH says hello)

Since DS was nerfed, camping and tunneling has gotten out of hand. I actually have no problem with it. The problem is my mates who give up as soon as they are camped or tunnelled. I think if these unfun tactics were removed then survivor mains would be less upset when they didn't survive.

Personally, I tunnel survivor only when they want to be tunnelled. Still, I win most matches.

    Average survivor: 3-4 kills

    Good survivors: 2 kills

Chuck Norris and friends: 0-1 kill

And yes, I mostly play against average survivor.

If survivors are too strong after these changes, then you can still buff killers that are underperforming. Map balancing is still important!

    What do you think?

No thanks, DS is already annoying enough. Why cant you just body block for your fellow survivors to protect them from tunneling.

  • Ah yes, the 'fix any issues with the game.' button.

I come to the forum for my daily fiction.

  • DS is not meant to be a get out of jail free card, some Killers can counter is. Use other perks instead then.

We dont want everyone to use DS again.

  • @Icaurs said:

Why the devs will never do this and why its a terrible idea

    1. . A meta will be formed. all players will pick Everyone will pick the same character because there will invariably be one character more powerful then the rest. Not only will this make the game less visually interesting because every match will have say 4 Megs, this will create further stagnation that the devs are trying to avoid. Maybe they can do what other games do, only allow one character rper match. You think players giving up during a match is bad, wait until they start quitting when their main is taken before the match starts. Or if you put in a penalty, killing themselves on hook 3 seconds in.
    2. It will create massive unbalance. Now not only you have to avoid unbalance of a perk base, and unbalance when combined with other perks, but now you have to balance perks for all survivors? They can't do it. They don't have the vison for it, and to do it would take years.
    3. killers would go mental. A large portion of the killer main base goes mental any time survivors get any buff, even the most modest of compensations. You think we would not see hundreds of forums posts of outrage when survivors get 30+ buffs? There would be outrage everywhere and killers threatening to quit the game.
    4. They would lose money. Behaviour makes so much money form cosmetics. People will pick a main and never deviate. So they won't buy cosmetics for other characters. "But people already do that?" yes, and there is no reason to, is entirely subjective, and already a lot of people think like that. wait until people have a reason, cosmetic sales will crash.

Its bad for the game, and bad for business. They will likely never do it.

    1. Not if BHVR fixes those balance and meta issues.
    2. Not if BHVR fixes those balance and meta issues.
    3. Not if BHVR fixes those balance and meta issues.
    4. No, make good survivors power encourage people to play less used characters, sell more cosmetics.

Behaviour cant just simply fix these issues, have you seen how long it takes them to implement changes and bug fixes?

Don't use the kill switch as an argument btw. It is super inconsistent (Oni dropped way more blood than he should and they fixed it like 2 months later without kill switching him which they arguably should have for sure).

Also they would have to add the majority at once at the very least, because if they just added say one surv with powers then every single person on earth would play that one survivor since they would be objectively the best one to play.

    1. Bhvr can fix anything they focus all their energy on.
    2. Kill switch argument is true, Oni was not broken past the point being overpowered.
  • You should play with an aura reveal information perks, Lethal Pursuer, Bitter Murmur, Darkness revealed until you know possible survivor locations like the back of your hand.

  • @miniwengsel said:

The problem in this idea is, that this Survivor powers would work like a perk. Means that you as the killer have to deal with 20 Perks and you have 5, if you count your own power as a perk.

yeah, im not saying Survivor powers should be as strong as killer powers.

  • @miniwengsel said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3172039#Comment_3172039

You cant remove the multible Survivor selection for Trial, because it would be really bad for beginners. If they just lvl dwight and than they cant play dwight

Claudette, Meg and Jake also come with the game.

  • @Whoudini said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3172128#Comment_3172128

Wesker is a buggy mess right now. I am doing well with him to but he has some frustrating bugs (I grab and let go of survivors very often).

Balance is a very valid argument when your adding 33 new powers into the game (that is more effort needed than if they were to add the entire killer roster to the game again). Not to mention bugs and stuff like that which again you saw how buggy twins was on their release, the exact same would likely happen with this.

If Wesker is a buggy mess, why isn't he Kill Switched then?

The balance argument is exactly not valid cause nobody said we had to add 33 at once. There are many ways of addressing this problem, however thats not how you phrased the problem first. You said it would be a bad idea cause it could be unbalanced.

cool, then we fix those issues.

  • @Whoudini said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/345084/survivor-powers

Behaviour has had trouble implementing just one new killer (wesker). You are now suggesting they add 33 brand new unique active powers to the game? Even if this idea was good, it could never plausibly happen. It would take ages to implement, balancing would be a nightmare and there would be bugs galore.

    1. Wesker has been implemented, I have been stomping Survivors the whole weekend.
    2. Time isnt an issue, I have been with dbd since 2016 I am with bhvr here for the long game aslong as they make it fun

"But it might be unbalanced" is a poor argument that could be used against adding any new feature to this game ever.

So what if it might be unbalanced? bHVR can fix that and learn and grow from it as developers.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I like the idea in theory, I just don't think i'd like it in game. I like the fact that I can pick any survivor I want and not worry about people bitching because I might pick a "weaker" survivor. Bsides, there are some who already see the same killers over and over. I'd rather not see a million and one Fengs. No offense to and Feng mains.

The Dbd community is already complaining to other players in that unfriendly manner anyway. Do you really think you would you would feel a difference because of a new thing, they can complain about? Not trying to mind read you, but isn't this just playing into the abusers in our community's hands? Like you should not be forced into playing a certain way, or a certain character because people will abuse and berate your for it. That is just wrong.

  • @Bartlaus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3172088#Comment_3172088

My argument cannot be refuted. The devs are already overwhelmed with new killers and perks. Remember, there are dozens of bugs with every patch. Survivor Powers instead of new DLCs? I'm afraid that won't happen!

All killer powers are working as intended?! Did u try Wesker?

Time to learn logic and arguments 101.

An argument that has not been refuted does not mean its a true assertion. There is also no way you can demonstrate that would be the case.

Repeating the argument wont make it more true either.

Yes I have been playing Wesker all weekend, been having a blastand have had no issues.

  • @kizuati said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3170683#Comment_3170683

Then we just need to revert the baseline killer buffs lol

no. only if suddenly killers overall are performing better than intended.

  • @Bartlaus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/345084/survivor-powers

In itself it would be great, but the developers would be overwhelmed with it. Consider all the killer powers that are already not working as intended.

Nah, that is a cop-out. No killer is kill switched atm. All Killers are working as intended, its just that some don't perform as expected or could perform better. but again, we could apply the same logic to more chapters, Killers, perks.

Developers would be overwhelmed therefore no more perks and Killers.

its a really unconvincing argument, if it held any water BHVR would have stopped at chapter 20 mate.

  • @Buily09

1.Perks already created a meta. if its a problem, removal of multiple same Survivors selection for Trial.

2,3 and 4 basically is: "It might be unbalanced" if those were legit criticism of the idea, we would not have perks either since they can be removed employing the same bad logic.

Hell even new Killers are new balance issues to take care off so therefore bhvr should stop making new killers.

Nah, BHVR is up to the task.

  • Even tho it MAY put too much power in Survivors hands cause they got 4 more offerings than killers.

It removes the perks they hate at the cost of opening themselves up to removing everything Killers hate.

I like the idea. even tho it may end up being an offering people will DC on purpose for.

  • These suggestions are not bad.

I think that Wesker having a sleek way of navigating the environment when dashing is good and just a tiny lil bit more grabb power would be good. Hopefully that would be satisfying those who have issues with hitting a grab, I dont have those issues at my mmr level.
