  • We get it - FNAF fans want FNAF Chapter. Stop spamming this idea already, it's getting more and more lame each and every time.

  • I can't say that it's the worst or the best, because I have nothing to compare to from personal experience. Eternal Blight is my first Halloween Event. I'm kinda disappointed that there is no time-limited in-game currency with which I could buy skins, but with all the things they are adding it is not AS bad as it was few days ago. Still, I kinda expected more from Halloween Event of the game that calls itself "Hall of Fame of Horror".

  • Update: Managed to get the charm during TrU3Ta1ent's re-run stream. Hope that everyone else will get lucky the same way I did.

@Xyvielia @kaeru thank you for kind words, much love 💖

  • @kaeru Thank you for the wish of luck, though <3

Different streamers have different methods to giveaway codes. Some streamers give all code except two last digits, and give last digits in 3 minutes. CrunchyEggrollz streaming right now. He was slowly typing letters for everyone could get it. He was typing so slow, that even console players could get it. There was only 150 viewers and not everyone tried to redeem code. It's a mornng in Ukraine right now, so you have a chance, because some fog whisperers streaming at night, some in the morning and some at evening. Someone said there is more than hundred fog whisperers, and not all of them really popular. I wish you luck!

Paulie had the same method yesterday, when he gave out 2 codes. Latency still does its thing, sadly. Few seconds is nothing if you are just watching and communicating, but it's everything if you need to enter information from the screen in a matter of milliseconds, because there are 50 to 1000 other people like you trying to get the code. As I said, you need to have a perfect internet, which should not be a factor in giveaways like this.

I was playing Billy whole weekend. Didn't played him for ages. I never facecamp but I get to overheat quite often. Because I use chainsaw for attack and for covering distance. 4-5 unlucky tries in a row and you got to overheat. 2 big travels and you got to overheat. Now I need to watch heat bar and when it close to overheat i have to walk without chainsaw for a while. Or I have an option to overheat to get slightly faster cooldown. I don't see big difference between usual cooldown and cooldown after overheat. I wish cooldown after overheat was much faster to make getting to overheat more strategic.

I know I need more practice. But not only facecampers get overheat.

Well, Billy isn't meant to roam around the map with the chainsaw whole match. It needs to be used when it's actually needed - for covering distance at the sanic-speed and for downing survivors, when you are sure that you can down them. Not just mindless chainsawing 24/7.

Although I don't play Billy very often, I have been playing several games with him few days ago for dailies (and I am sure I'll play him even more once the new Tome is out). I haven't experienced any problems with overheat and had nothing but Brutal Killer and Ruthless Killer. For the record, I am playing on 1-3 red ranks. I would recommend simply not relying that much on your chainsaw. If you have a power it doesn't mean you have to use it non-stop. Quite the opposite, you have to use it carefully and in a smart way. Don't be afraid to use M1 and move normally from time to time. Ignoring M1 and mindlessly using M2 was always downfall of Billies and Bubbas. Both before and after changes were made.

Overheat isn't meant to be used in a strategic way. It is meant to prevent abuse of chainsaw usage. You don't have to use overheat as a strategy, you have to build your strategy around it, so that you get max profit from your chainsaw without overheating it once. Maybe it's just a matter of getting used to it. But as for me and many-many others, overheat timer is pretty ok as it is now. It used to be horrendous during the PTB, yes, but since then they changed it for the better.

  • @Manky said:

lmao devs 100% favour killers over survivors. The last positive change to survivor was an ancient bug affecting their movement after being unhooked and that was a while ago too. Since then, its just been a buff to bubba, a change to billy which IMO, makes him not weaker or stronger, just a different killer, they are changing pyramid head, they add blight and felix, blight with the amazing perk Hex: Undying which is probs one of the most common perks now with ruin, while felix gets visionary...

I see your frustration, losing the Billy you once loved, but trust me... Billy is not a bad killer now.

Plus his music is ######### amazing

I'll guess you just don't know how much survivor-sided game was back in a day. Completely unironically broken kind of -sided. So it's only fair to start bringing more centralized balance by giving more positives to killers. Plus, it's not like they are actually favouring killers, not true in the slightest. if we are talking about buffs/nerfs and perk changes - survivors have it very easy, while some killers (or rather killer-players) might really struggle. I feel like you are kinda forgetting that it's 4 people vs 1 person, not 4 people vs 1 mega-brain-super-smart AI.

I also like how for Blight you mention the only good perk he has, while remaining silent about two other perks of his, which are completely useless. And for Felix you ignore Desperate Measures, which is actually a very nice and useful perk, but for some reason bring up Visionary.

  • I am not a dev, but as a person who "plays some killer games" almost daily I feel like I can comment here.

Funny thing is - Billy hasn't even changed that much, aside from the new overheat mechanic, which doesn't even hurt anyone but facecampers. Skillful Billies are still curving and hitting like crazy without any problems. And this "I go back to playing after 1 year" part gives you zero credibility, as you are basically stating "I haven't played for a year" i.e. "I am not that good at the game, because I haven't played for a while".

    Git gud, brother.

P.S. Trapper and addonless Wraith are MUCH worse than Billy. So are Clown, Pig, Legion, Mikey and many others.

P.P.S. Devs do play killers on their streams. Guess you are not even watching something you are commenting on.

  • It's a pretty common bug, actually. If generator is finished too quickly, the game sometimes doesn't registrate it being finished, although visually and audibly it seems like it is. Usually it happens when 3 to 4 people spawn next to a generator and sit on it right away, without wasting any time. Especially if there are toolboxes, Brand New Parts or Prove Thyself. It can only happen during first half a minute of the trial.

Next time a gen finished, the number, just like @Rizzo90 said, will change to 3 instead of 4, as if 2 gens were finished simultaneously.

  • If I don't have Deliverance and know that unhooking attempt won't send me to the second phase - yeah, why not. It's always fun to 4% xd

Would devour hope starting with 2 tokens but never grant the exposed status be a nerf? You tell me.

It would be a nerf ;)

Because 2 tokens are useless. Exposed, Mori and the panic they create are the only valuable things about this perk. And it already has token system to it, so lowering their number at the expense of Exposed status effect can never be considered a buff or an "equal" change.

Going back to Ruin - it doesn't give as OP effect as DH does (and tokens on TS are purely notional, just so you know how many you have hit, effect doesn't change with the growth of tokens like in DH or HL). New Ruin basically only gives you an opportunity to not kick generators in order for them to regress. Survivors still can rush 5 gens with Ruin up. I did it to killers and survivors did it to me, so I know that it's possible. But yeah, sure, why not, let's weaken killers' perks for gen-defense, without weakening survivors' ability to rush those gens. Seems fair and fun!

i did not even say ANYTHING about what the tokens would do and you called it a nerf. I was thinking it would start a little weak, but grow to be stronger than it is now. You didn't know a single thing about what it would be and you called it a nerf. Just stop, I won't even care to read the rest of your comment as you clearly didn't care enough to process mine. Glhf.

"It would start a little weak" while now it starts off strong by default. And it's not a nerf? Ok lmao

  • @PassarinoT said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1678267#Comment_1678267

I'm not saying nerf it, I'm saying make it token based so that if it's broken and transferred by Undying, then it will lose strength, just like Devour and Third Seal. And it was awfully OP before, you had to be a braindead killer to think that perk was fair beforehand.

I feel like you don't really understand the meaning of a word "nerf". Giving it tokens makes it a non-permanent perk, which makes it not only weaker, but sometimes even completely useless. Hence - this poorly thought out thing you propose IS a nerf.

Yeah. It was OP. Not awfully, because you still could destroy it very fast and easy, but OP. Just like any Hex should be. "High value - high risk" is the main rule of Hexes if you didn't know, dude. This is why some Hexes are considered bad - because they don't give high value. And if Ruin gets the nerf you are asking for - it will become one of those "bad Hexes", because it'll be completely useless without Undying.

Braindead are the people, who think that hitting skillchecks and breaking totems is incredibly hard thing to do. Old Ruin did its job even if it was broken early. Now New Ruin does its job, if used with Undying. And what do people, who can't play around totems, want? Nerf it of course.

  • Some people just can't take anything in a non-serious manner lol

  • @PassarinoT said:

If there was a way to make Ruin begin with zero tokens and gain from there to create the effect, I think that could be effective.

Oh yeah. Let's nerf a perk, which is already nerfed. It wasn't butchered enough, was it?

    @SurvJoe said:

yeah without aura showing this perk would be not so broken imo

Half of the time you don't even see those auras if survivors aren't numbnuts. It's not like killers know when to look at the totems exactly. Plus, what would be the point of Undying without a combo then? This is a PERK. Not an exclusive addon for Ruin.

  • Record them on the video (OBS is nice). Then send proof to the support. The more hackers you report - the less of them will be in the game.

Though, for the last half a year I personally run into hackers, like, 2 or 3 times. So I wouldn't say that this problem is as frequent as you describe it. Are you sure that they aren't simply outplaying you fairly?

  • Yeah. Just press "UNBLOCK". If you can't find him - look better.

They don't disappear from the list after you block them. Only after you delete them from friendlist.

  • I feel like Overlook Hotel, as much as I love both novel and movie, would become a Midwich #2

Both visually and gameplay-wise - "gorgeous, but unplayable".

  • Including the fact that you can literally destroy this combo in the first minute of the trial - I actually don't see any problem with it.

If we are nerfing Ruin/Undying combo, then let's nerf Decisive/Unbreakable combo too. What kind of survivor-siding is this?

  • WGLF - We're Gonna Live Forever – Teachable David King Perk.

MoM - Mettle of Man – Teachable Ash Williams Perk.

    M&A - Monitor & Abuse – Teachable Doctor Perk.

BP - Blood Points, an in-game currency with which you can buy perks, items and addons in the Blood Web.

BM - Bad Manners; unnecessary toxic behavior, like t-bagging, clicking flashlight and hitting hooked survivors.

    4K - Four killed survivors.

Genrushing - Focusing on the repairing generators as quickly as possible, at the expense of your teammates; gens before friends.

Patrolling - The act of killer walking around certain places of the map (usually generator placements) in order to find survivors.

Face-camping - A situation where a killer stands still directly in front of a hooked survivor.

Slugging - A situation where killer, instead of hooking, leaves survivor on the ground to bleed out.

Sabo - The act of sabotaging hooks with toolboxes or Saboteur, which is a Teachable Jake Park Perk.

Maining - Playing for a certain killer/survivor the most amount of time. As a killer - fully understanding selected killer's powers and potential.

    Juking - Evading killer's hit.

    Vommy Mommy - The Plague.

  • I mean, I can entertain the idea, but I don't really see him - huge tall tentacle faceless man - riding people on his shoulders to hooks. He's not even on the level of Demogorgon and Pyramid Head, as far as mysteriousness and crypticity go - he's way above them. Dead by Daylight's setting, sadly, won't be able to do this character justice.

And with all the other licensed characters so far - we at least saw them doing something to people in their original source (would it be movies, tv-series or videogames). But with Slender Man - we never see him doing stuff. He is only stalking from afar, coming closer, causing some hallucinations and making screen all glitchy. That's it. Next thing you know - a person is missing without a trace.

If anything, he could be an "agent" of Entity, who takes people to the Entity's Realm, or one of her manifestations, but not a killer.

  • Not now, maybe someday in the future. Cross-progression between PC and PS is not supported right now, as far as I know.

Even if your not an experienced spirit player it's extremely easy to 4k with those perks and using her addons and have really good headphones.

Also take everything i type with a grain of salt sometimes i don't mean what i say haha

Well, I don't really even need those perks, have none of them in my build, although I don't play her very often.

"sometimes I don't mean what I say haha" - ermmm, so you are basically shiteposting?

  • Phrases "if your an experienced spirit player" and "spirit doesn't take skill" contradict each other a whole lot, don't you think?

You get a warn for evading the profanity filter yes, but if the censor doesn't work for some reason (as in the case above) we just edit without warning because no attempt to evade the filter was made.

Wait, so you will get a warn if you are "asterisking" (e.g. f**k) a bad word yourself, because you know that cussing isn't family friendly and don't want to come out as an ill-mannered person? Or by "evading the profanity filter" you mean only, like, changing the word in a way, so that it stays the same visually, but doesn't get detected by forum censor?

Ace has basically a built in iron will, sure they should have different sounds but the volume of the sounds should be different

    Well, it is different.

And Ace isn't the only one. Cheryl has the same volume as him in all categories.

  • Wraith is incredibly weak without his addons. Clown is probably the only killer who is weaker.

With addons, though, he becomes much stronger than Mikey, Piggy and to an extent even Ghostface (depending on the build and level of skill).

The next weakest stealth killer is Pig (who is not here god knows why), next Michael. Ghostface is the strongest one basekit-wise.

  • Blight, Nea and Hillbilly are gonna be there. Probably some memories of Adam and Clown too.

I personally would want tome for Yui, Feng and some other member of Legion (like Susie, Joey or Frank).

  • If we are taking into account gameplay on those maps, Midwich has no right to be the best map

  • They are both loud, yes. So is Jane.

But I don't see any problem with that. Survivors are already the same thing gameplay-wise, they should differ at least in looks and sounds.

I don't think that you realise the only way to balance around the existence of SWFs is to bridge the gap. Allowing communications for solo players, would do this, but I don't think it can work in this game personally.

I don't think you realise that by doing this (while solo-survivors, ofc, will get a better experience), killers will have to always fight a squad with perfect coordination. One guy loops - everyone else knows that and works on a gen. One guy sees a totem or a trap - now everyone in the squad knows where it is. One guy gets facecamped - now everyone else doesn't need to have Kindred and doesn't need to waste time by checking the hook to know that. One guy brings OoO - now everyone else knows where the killer is all the time and where killer's traps are. Dude, now you don't even need to know each other and have a Discord accounts in order to do that, so cool! And guess what? Killers can't do anything about that. Except bringing Blindness perks and addons, which won't even help that much, really. And if BHVR listens to this, they will have to think about all the issues listed above. And believe me, balancing this so that the game stays fair, will be nearly impossible.

Or, maybe, do you not know that killers are played by real people too, not by bots? And you need to balance the game around them too, so that none of the sides feels neither overpowered, nor oppressed.

Communication, in case of DbD, has nothing to do with "balancing the game". It only ruins the atmosphere and gives a bigger advantage to the survivors, making every match either survivor-sided by default (if killers can't hear them) or a complete sh*tshow (if killers can hear them).

And yes, you are right, it won't work in this game. It will only make killers unplayable on high ranks. The only place where I see communication being completely fine is "Kill Your Friends" mode.

  • Yes, I believe, devs stated that some rift skins will be coming to the in-game store sometime in the future. Don't know when exactly, though.

  • I would say David Tapp is the best choice.

Yui is an original character, who can be bought for Iri Shards, so I wouldn't recommend getting her for Auric Cells in any case (I wouldn't recommend getting any character for Auric Cells, really, because buying with money is cheaper, but it has nothing to do with your question).

So back to Tapp and his perks. Detective's Hunch is a really good info-perk. Tenacity is wonderful with Unbreakable and Soul Guard. Stake Out is just fun if you like hiding and getting free perfect skillchecks (which in certain situations might be even detrimental).

In short, perk-wise, Tapp has 1 objectively good perk. While perks of Yui, Steve and Ash are either niche as hell or simply bad.

Mettle of Man, Flip-Flop, Second Wind, Breakout and Any Means Necessary are very cool when they work. But they work very rarely.

  • SWF is already overpowered because of possibility of communicating. Do you want every game for killer to feel like a game against SWF on comms? That's some beginner survivor mentality, my dude.

Mid-to-Low Tier killers will simply disappear from the game because of that, and non-sweat killers will go extinct for the most part. Do you feel like it's a good change for the game? I don't think so.

The game doesn't want you to be able to communicate during match. That's why you have aura-reading perks and that's why the game is 4vs1.

  • Not the smartest thing to do, if you are planning on winning, but why not.

Game strategies (like facecamping, looping, tunneling, genrushing) are not toxic, especially if they are successful. Toxic are the people, who whine about it in post-chat, and keep going on and on with different insults, threats and simply bad words.

You also might wanna try Ghostface or Wraith. Their powers are basically the biggest "f**k you* to OoO.

Well, there are lesser used perks that specifically increase the life and usability of those Medkits. You got Self-Care, Botany Knowledge, Streetwise, Solidarity, Leader, Spine Chill, Desperate Measures, Built to Last and probably some other ones. That's a lot of perks that help with that, so I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree that it's overpowered for that reason. Also, since it's a Hex it's value is based on where it spawns. So it could either be very useful at slowing the game down or very useless if it spawns right next to the Survivor's at the beginning of the trial.

Hmm..."With the Killer making no effort whatsoever for it to be done". But aren't Survivor's just getting a quick health state without doing anything special other than using even the most common of Medkits? Gaining back a health state is a pretty big deal in my opinion considering that the Killer has to strike them twice before they can be hooked.

These perks won't help you if you are already out of charges. Built to Last and Streetwise will only make it so that you'll have your charges for few more dozens of seconds, which is not much. All other perks which you mentioned don't need a medkit in order to work and some of them (like Solidarity and Leader) ignore medkit in your hands.

And no, survivors are not "just getting a quick health state without doing anything special". Healing up wastes their time. Time, that could've been spent on pressuring gens or doing other objectives, like assisting teammates or breaking totems. Wasted time is the price they pay for healing with medkits and/or Self-Care. And the more time they waste - the more pressure killer gets. That's why you can see a lot of streamers being more than fine with the fact that survivors are all healing instead of repairing generators. Looking for medkit in the chests before healing with it will waste even more time. Time, which they will only spend on gens, once they understand that chests are useless when this Hex is up.

Medkits can be a big deal for most killers without one-shot attack, you are not wrong here - that's why medkits are the most powerful and useful item in the first place. But denying players from using their items right from the start of the game, without any trigger-point is at least cruel and at most - moronic. Items are a part of the game, hence why a player should at least have a chance to use them.

We already have perks and addons, that undermine efficiency of medkits and flashlights. We already have perks and addons, that make toolboxes less useful. Hell, we even already have a perk, that eliminates items from the game, if survivor was hit and didn't pick dropped item up afterwards. What makes you think that the game needs an item-destroying Hex? Especially with such ridiculous conditions. And the main thing - it doesn't even slow the game down. Survivors can still heal and do gens efficiently, even without items. It only eliminates the use of all items except keys. So, basically - you are just making your opponents annoyed. And if totem is broken - it does a whole lot of nothing.

  • Hex: Decay feels too unfair and unfun for the survivor side (e.g. you won't be able to use addonless Brown/Green Medkit to restore your health even once). I don't like perks which are very unfair for the opposite side. Same reason why I never use Object of Obsession (except one time when I had to do Laurie's adept achievement). I try to stick to the rule of "if I would hated such thing done to me, I wouldn't do it to others". At least for Franklin's you have to hit them, while with this perk it's just perma-effect unless they find the totem (which usually, despite the memes, takes 1-2 minutes, during which your item will be almost completely consumed with killer making no effort whatsoever for it to be done).

Deadly Precision seems like a buffed version of Sloppy Butcher. It's mkay.

  • The Gideon Meat Plant

The only map where you can always get away with standing at the doors while killer is looking for the hatch.

I am a big fan of Saw franchise and it's nice to see how well-placed many easter eggs are (still sad that Adam is dead). The map itself is pretty fun to play on both sides for me personally. Most pallets are safe, but as soon as they are wasted - you are almost guaranteed to have a down. Plus, the basement is only one every time, which makes it easier to find it when needed.

Then again, I love Hawkins Lab too. Lot of nice loops and several safe generator spots, from which you can easily finish last two gens. Also lots of dead corpses to tea-bag on and finger-licking good hooks, which I consider the best ones in the game so far.

I praise Midwich visually, as I consider it the very best looking map, but don't like it at all gameplay-wise. Unless I play Demogorgon.

Same with Lery's - don't really like playing there, unless I'm a Doctor or one of the Staky Gang members. Or Demogorgon.

  • I mean... Yamaoka and Badham were completely reworked visually, of course they will look different. More dark and atmospheric. But I don't recommend playing with the base brightness, because it is and always was almost impossible to see much. Better make your screen go brighter. Coldwind feels the same to me, idk.

  • Yes they do. You never can please everyone, though.

  • The most annoying one to farm out.

  • My man ain't need no hands in order to stalk.

    ghostface-scream-1589463105.jpg
  • After he went live, he's even better. Not perfect, but he shouldn't be. Because in 4v1 games - perfect = overpowered. I am very pleased with this killer, he is fun. And "fun" is the most important thing, imo. Also, he literally counters holding W, which is actually very cool, if you think about it.

He has the potential, and he is in a pretty good place rn. For now, he is somewhere on the top of B-tier for me.

Maybe he'll even get up higher, when people master him, showing his full potential.

  • In some cases tunneling is a right thing to do, if killer needs immediate pressure, when he has none.

When it's a start of the game and killer tunnels despite having all the pressure in the world, it's just a scummy strategy.

Still, it's a strategy. Sometimes it's viable, sometimes it's not. But you can't prevent it from ever happening.
