The hypotheticals were referring to normal matches, where a spirit who wants to win is not going to run yellows, but instead she'll run green or even purple. With added duration it leaves the spirit with more time to get the survivor in chase and leaves survivors with an even less predictable guess. Hence making much less of a 50/50 and more of a 70/30.
58 seconds average with the 2nd strongest killer in the game against a comp survivor on a good killer map starting with a god pallet and lots of pallets predropped. Perks on killer don't matter because what spirit runs chase perks.
Honestly I don't see how that is short especially if we start to factor in comp teammates etc. More importantly it's good to understand that chase time does not equal how much counterplay a killer has.
And yes, there also were LONGER chases than the average due to how averages work.
Also, I don't think she has valid counters either, but you cannot say that 58 seconds is short and use that time to show how she doesn't have counters..
Again I’m talking about the actual video, not hypotheticals. In the video there were no counters displayed and that’s with everything artificially skewed in the survivor’s favour. In the actual game, even a survivor of such calibre won’t last near as long.
58 seconds in the context of the video is not very long at all for reasons I’ve already described. The fact that some chases lasted just as long as they would vs. a low skilled survivor merely fortifies the argument of Spirit having no counter-play.
We are not talking about a 58 second chase vs Spirit. We are talking about a 58 second chase that starts on a map of the survivor’s choice, at the location of the survivor’s choosing, using essentially every resource on the map, vs. a Spirit with suboptimal add-ons and no perks. In this context, the actual context of the actual video that I’m talking about, 58 seconds is not very long. Is it a longer average chase than that of the average survivor? Obviously. Does it prove that Spirit has counter-play? Absolutely not. It proves the exact opposite.
Again, dropping every pallet doesn’t counter Spirit, it counters your own team, who are totally screwed. Artificially extending chases to a mere 58 seconds by using every resource on the map argues in favour of Spirit having no counter-play, not against it.
Not really sure what point you’re trying to make here.

The dropped pallets were much more than a 50/50, probably more favoured to scott especially if he had duration add ons or better add ons in general.
Also, do you know how much 58 seconds is for a killer whos primary power is chase ability?
You cannot say "a mere 58 seconds" when games end in 5 minutes. 58 seconds is a LONG time in DBD.
I’m talking about the video. The dropped pallets in the video were a 50/50 at best. Scott didn’t have better add ons. Why are you talking about hypotheticals? Which leads to my second point:
58 seconds average chase for a strong chasing killer vs a survivor who’s above the top 1% of all players, whilst having several unrealistic artificial advantages in his favour including map selection, limited ad on usage and no perks for the killer, starting at the strongest possible position on the pre-selected map, is not very long at all. And that’s just the average.
Even with these incredibly unrealistic concessions vs. such a high calibre player, several chases were significantly shorter, in fact just as short as they’d be vs. a bad survivor.
Not to mention the fact that dropping so many pallets to extend one chase to a mere 58 seconds is actually countering your own team and losing the game outright, and therefore doesn’t counter Spirit in the slightest of ways, which is what the entire debate is about, not chase time.
How many gems typically get done by the 58 second mark in your games, and do you honestly think you’re going to win from that point with no pallets left?
-
I swear stakeout now gains tokens while you’re on the hook. Maybe I was just tired. Can anyone else confirm?

not to said that this will only work for 1st chase after that pallet already dropped, 2nd down would be much faster after there's no pallet which is real situation on real gameplay
Very good point.
-
This video pretty much puts an end to the debate. There is no counter-play vs. Spirit.
- Tournament players are decimals above even the top 1% of players.
- Scott was put at an artificial disadvantage in almost every conceivable way. These laboratory settings do not occur in the actual game.
- All pallets were dropped as they were approached. This is not specific to Spirit and actually counters your own team, not her.
- Every dropped pallet was a 50/50.
- Scott made several mistakes, artificially extending chases as a result. This is not relevant to whether or not Spirit has counter-play.
- Even with all this, the average chase time was a mere 58 seconds. Some chases were significantly shorter, even with the u realistic concessions Scott made, vs. a player who’s above the top 1%, with laboratory settings in his favour.

He’s a really solid killer now. I’d say high B tier, possibly A tier on some maps with particular builds. It’s annoying that so many people are calling for him to be nerfed but that’s to be expected in this type of game. Nobody has really been against Wraith on any consistent basis, so now that he’s finally being payed again - which is a good thing - people are struggling because they have no idea what to do against him. It’s easier to complain and demand that the issue is resolved artificially than it is to analyse what they’re doing wrong adjust their approach accordingly.

Ah so the counter play to Spirit is to have remote access to the Killer's machine, so you can manually mute them and then they can't find you. Gotcha!
Exactly!

I don't think that she should be able to have TEN portals all over the damn map at any one time. That's enough to block every generator plus some hooks, pallets, windows, whatever. It's a bit much. The fact that they're all but invisible doesn't help either.
I'd say give her five portals, or if people complain that she MUST have ten then have some kind of limit as to how frequently she can use them. Unless there already is some kind of cooldown on them, which I've seen no evidence of (I haven't played as the Hag yet, she seems to tricky. Yes, I am agreeing that she takes skill to use. I don't knock those who are good with her. She's just super cheap).
That would make her incredibly weak and would require significant buffs in other areas to compensate. Hag’s entire game-flow is designed around how her traps are currently implemented. 5 traps would make her power far too inconsistent, and a cool down / limit on trap usage would render her too slow with no tangible pressure.
-
Theory vs. practice.
There are many places traps can be set where you aren’t going to see them.
You’re not going to avoid every trap even if they’re all placed out in the open. Hag is not stationary. You either run at an awkward angle into a dead zone and get hit or you run though the trap and get hit. Either way you’re getting hit.
Need to vault that window to avoid getting downed but you know it’s trapped? Avoid the window. You just saved yourself a couple seconds.
At a strong loop? Nvm Hag just trapped it in your face and you’re forced to leave.
Yes, in theory you can just avoid her traps. In theory you can just disable them all in advance. In an actual match though, it’s just not going to happen. Even good SWF can’t pull this off consistently. Sure they can do a better job then solos by far, but they’re still going to trigger traps, they’re still having to play awkwardly, they’re still leaving loops on command, and they’re still getting downed out of nowhere.
Hag is very strong. She does have very tangible counter play, and that’s why she’s balanced, but you’re not going to execute that counter-play optimally, which is why she’s also a very well designed killer.
-
Actually there is counter-play to Spirit.
When she’s phasing the shards on her back light up. If you pause the video at the start when Scott first uses phase there is a frame where it’s clearly visible.
As for chase, you can no longer hear any sounds if you mute your game, and Spirit heavily relies on sound.
I’d happily take Scott up on his challenge to settle this once and for all.

I still don't understand how people don't know his counterplay, which is to not go in dead zones and to focus on decent loops that makes him vulnerable. He's so easy to counter yet people still don't know it.
LT loops and shack also hinder him.
I think it’s mainly because when someone is frustrated, it’s much easier to just vent and put the blame elsewhere than it is to analyse the situation and make sensible adjustments to one’s approach.
I can pretty much guarantee that most of the people complaining run around in the open, flee to dead zones, try to loop at small, unsafe pallets, and stay injured for far too long OR play TOO altruistically, generating no pressure at all and plenty of free hits and downs.
I just played a game as Wraith where people kept unhooking before I even had a chance to run to the nearest generator. I’d come back to the hook to find them healing under it, smack the healthy survivor, who’d then run to aimlessly in the opposite direction, allowing for a quick down and hook. This repeated until I had a 4K by 2 gens.
What they should have done is simply pressure gens, with 1 survivor breaking away for the rescue once I had engaged with someone else. Then they could have healed and continued to pressure gens while I hooked the other. I wouldn’t have been able to keep up.

While I do think Wraith is much stronger now, I still think he is on the weaker side of killers. The main thing that really helped him was his map mobility, but his true invisibility was definitely an underrated buff. His mobility allows his hit and run playstyle to work very well especially since he no longer needs addons for it to work. The true invisibility allows him to actually be more stealthy and have an easier approach. I have a say in this because I do play quite a lot of Wraith.
Wraith is still just old Wraith because he can still easily be countered by pallets, windows, and just proper positioning from survivors when he starts to uncloak.
With his stronger addons such as the "all-seeing, blood", "bone clapper", and silent clapper addon he becomes much better, but even with "all-seeing, blood" and the "bone clapper, he is still reasonably easy to deal with. You could argue that he is very strong with the silent clapper, but that is his strongest addon so of course he would be. His base kit is suitable, but needs more work done. A rework would do him nicely, not just a few buffs. I think he should get a new mechanic to his power that has something to do with him ringing his bell, but of course still keeping the simplicity of Wraith.
Then you have his other addons, and I feel that they just aren't that great for the most part. They are mostly just for fun, but just how is kicking things faster while you are cloaked going to help you? Then there are his windstorm addons, they were nerfed and for a good reason, but I feel that they are no longer that useful unless you stack two of them. I think they could use a small buff.
But the main thing that really counters Wraith hard are safe windows and positioning. If you are at a long wall jungle gym or just a safe pallet and the survivor runs around, forcing you to uncloak in a more inconvenient, then they loop you normally (which you should do your best not to do). You will eventually hit them, but not before they waste a huge amount of your time.
His speed allows him to switch off targets very fast, but he really needs the ambush hit or else he will suffer, and this can be made difficult with perks such as SB or DH which most survivors at higher ranks use.
So yeah, the new Wraith is objectively better, but he is still pretty weak against survivors healing and playing smart.
Aye I’ve been saying this too, but it’s easier to just vent/complain when you’re frustrated. Wraith is a frustrating killer to face for most people, they just didn’t realise it until now because he was a very rare sight, but frustrating is not the same as overpowering.
I’ve always played Wraith, even when everyone thought he was one of the worst killers in the game. Contrary to the consensus at the time, he was already B tier before the tweaks. My performance has gone up by perhaps a few %. Maybe some games that would have been a 3k are now a 4K, but that’s a bit of a stretch. He feels almost identical to play as and his power level is almost identical too. He’s just more versatile now. He feels better to play, but I can’t really say he feels much stronger.
-
These threads are getting ridiculous lol. Wraith got some nice quality of life changes and a relatively small buff but he plays mostly the same as he always did, albeit in some games he’ll get an extra kill due to a combination of factors.
Sure he has good map traversal, but he doesn’t possess the lethality required to make that overpowering. More often than not he’ll smack you and run off to smack someone else. If he commits to you and you’re a competent looper @ some decent tiles he’ll most likely lose outright because he won’t be playing into his strengths and will instead be playing into his disadvantages.
Wraith’s primary strength is catching people out of position and getting free hits. He’s great at that and he is supposed to be, but it’s compensated by the fact that he’s one of the weaker chasers when it comes to stronger loops, at which he can’t hit you via uncloaking unless you mess up. He’ll be forced to play an an m1 killer with no power instead.
You counter him by doing gens efficiently whilst wasting as much of his time as possible. If he’s one of the very few good Wraiths, he won’t let you waste much time, but all things equal it will be neck and neck regardless as his gen pressure just isn’t very high even with his fast movement speed.
Efficient healing is also extremely strong when combined with efficient gen progression and he’ll have an extremely hard time clawing back the game. He’s going to hit people. He’s going to hook people. That’s just part of the game. The key is time management.
If you’re really, really struggling, just run a super efficient healing build because it counters him like crazy, even if he’s running Nurse’s Calling and the addon the applies mangled. Wraith relies on his hit and run style to pressure people into being out of position whilst injured. That’s where his true lethality lies. Super efficient healing counters this so hard that it’s immensely difficult for him to get any lasting pressure before the gens put too much pressure of him to claw back the game. He’ll just be injuring people over and over with the occasional down thrown in, until the last gen pops.
If you’re @ a weak pallet just stand partially inside it. Don’t run around. Just stand there. I know it’s counterintuitive but just do it. If he’s bad he’ll walk into the pallet thinking he is blocking it, and you just stun him and move to the next. You can repeat this all match for an easy win.
If he’s good however, he’ll try to mindgame with his bell. When he uncloaks, if he curves around behind you, just step forwards and drop the pallet. If he goes the other side, just drop the pallet. If the pallet is particularly unsafe, just drop it in advance and run around it. When he uncloaks just vault the pallet of fake it. It’s a 50/50.
When @ a window just stand in front of it. Again he’ll try to mind game but all you need to do is vault the window as he uncloaks and he can’t hit you unless it’s one of those tiny windows. If he tries to swing at your side of the window, you just vault. If he tries to curve around to hit you as you land, just vault back and immediately keep running at whichever angle gains you the most distance. In the majority of cases he won’t hit you as you vault back but if he does, you lost the 50/50. No big deal.
You’re not supposed to be able to outplay Wraith at weak pallets/loops. The idea is to simply waste as much of his time as possible, even if it’s only a few extra seconds. He’s going to hit you whether you like it or not and that’s his purpose. He would be very weak if this weren’t the case.
At the end of the day it’s no big deal. You get hit, run to another tile, get hit again, get hooked, gens pop, rescue happens, rinse and repeat until you either win or lose.
To suggest that Wraith is OP or that his buffs were too much is to suggest that he’s on the same level as Spirit and Nurse, even Blight. He’s just not. I don’t see how anyone can make such a suggestion with a straight face. Wraith is an upper B tier killer, possibly an A tier killer on some maps with some builds. Asking for nerfs is asking for a step backwards. We should be buffing other killers to A/B tier, not nerfing everything people struggle against. Various people struggle against literally everything in the game.
TDLR people really don’t know how to play vs Wraith because until recently he was a very rare sight. Now that he’s received some much needed quality of life changes and some small tweaks, he is being played again and people are getting frustrated because they don’t know what to do against him, coupled with the fact that he’s just one of those frustrating killers to face. Frustrating is not the same as overpowering. If you genuinely find him overpowering, try to analyse what is going on and see if you can make adjustments to your approach. Chances are you’ll do much better but your team will still run around in the open and throw the match, but that’s a DBD issue, not a Wraith issue.
-
This is just what happens is these types of games. Someone will have a bad match vs. a killer, complain on the forums, which will feed into someone else’s misconceptions, then they’ll post too, so on so forth until it devolves into a big circle jerk of of everyone mindlessly regurgitating what everyone else regurgitates. Then a content creator will make a video about it, causing another to jump on the bandwagon. Then the thing gets nerfed to appease the echo chamber.

Who said he's near Nurse, Spirit, Blight ? No one. Because of his boosted speed in cloak. You can now run different add ons. And run disgusting builds with him. All seeing blood isn't even his best add on. Nor is silent bell.
When you run certain add ons and builds. He's an A-Tier killer. And your strategy of pre dropping pallets and camping windows isn't going to work vs a good wraith. A good wraith is going to get that first hit for free and not chase if it's not smart to do so.
People are struggling now. Because it's a combination of everything that took him from bad to very formidable. It's the invisibility outside 20. It's the speed boost in cloak coupled with his speed boost out of it. It's the speed boost that allows traversing the map faster. Catching up to survivors faster. And being more time effecient. Which is everything. It's the fact you can now run other add ons now and some of them give majors power boosts to his power set, and makes him pretty lethal.
Actually plenty of people are saying he’s on a similar level now. People are also calling for him to be nerfed left right and centre, which is laughable for a A/B tier killer imho. That should be the gold standard that other killers are brought to, instead of gimping good killers back down into mediocre territory.
Pre dropping weak pallets and especially camping windows works very well vs. good Wraiths. It’s the gold standard of how to delay the first hit or the down. Seconds count a lot vs. a good Wraith. Obviously he’s going to hit you @ weak pallets regardless, but that’s to be expected and he would be weak otherwise. Once gens get to a certain point he falls off pretty quickly all things considered, and he struggles to claw it back from that point because his downing pressure just isn’t THAT high.
Overall he’s a good chaser now but he’s still lacklustre at strong loops and pallets to balance things out.
His map traversal is very nice, but his pressure of nowhere near the level of S tier killers, so again it balances out. Mostly he’s going to hit you and run off to hit someone else unless you’re out of position. Positioning is paramount vs. a good Wraith. Nobody seems to really take this into account though.
Being able to run other addons is a nice quality of life change and boosts his capability a little but it’s nowhere near enough to boost him to the level many people are complaining about. His tier has gone up by one level at best and that’s a good thing. People are struggling because they don’t have experience vs. him, because everyone always assumed he was one of the worst killers in the game, even though he was always B tier, just never played.
He’s frustrating to play against, sure, same goes for several killers. Even I don’t enjoy facing him, but he’s certainly not OP, so I really don’t see the point of all this complaining. He’s not going to get nerfed. I guess people just want to vent.
-
I spent 1,000,000 bloodpoints today. It got my Adam from level 20 to level 43. Capped bloodpoints were only enough to get one survivor 23 levels in the blood web.

The thing is. The add ons make all the difference while moving fast now. And you can bait strong pallets. Stay cloaked and catch them faster after breaking the pallet.
Can’t really say I agree with that tbh. Sure the irl that lets him see survivor’s auras while cloaked is nice and helps with looping but he always had that. Besides it’s an iri and is weaker than plenty of addons other killers have.
It’s strange to me how people are struggling vs. Wraith all of a sudden. It’s not like he got some super buff, the changes were more quality of life than anything else and he functions pretty much the same as he always has.
I think the issue is that people always assumed he was weak because that’s what other people said, so nobody really played him, thus nobody has really had enough experience playing vs. him.
Now all of a sudden people are saying he’s OP etc, because that’s what other people are saying. The usual circle jerking that happens in games.
I don’t doubt that people are struggling vs him but I honestly think it’s because they don’t really know how to play vs. him, and it’s easier to follow the herd and call something OP than it is to adjust one’s approach.
I just wait by Windows, vault as he uncloaks, impossible for him to hit. Or wait by a pallet, drop it as he uncloaks. If he’s good I’ll just pre-drop. If it’s a weak pallet I just accept that I’m probably going to get hit and try to make it to a stronger loop/pallet before I’m downed.
If Wraith commits to one chase for too long it’s game over for him anyways. His lethality is in catching people out of position and he’s a mediocre chaser at many of the loops.
He’s strong sure, always has been actually. But he’s nowhere near the level of Nurse, Spirit and Blight.
-
He’s almost identical to how he used to be. The only major difference now is that he can use different addons. It’s almost impossible to hit a survivor while uncloaking if they’re at a strong loop/pallet. The only way you’re getting a hit is if they mess up. Weaker loops / pallets is a different story but rightfully so imho.

Most killers just need tweaks but I can’t really think of anyone who needs a full-on revamp.

You’re lucky. You’re on PC. You can lower your settings to gain significantly better visibility, and you can further this advantage by using filters. I love my Xbox X but I really wish I had a PC for DBD so I could actually see.

No, we take not being a jerk during game nights very seriously.
No one wants to play with someone who flips the board (aka DCs/Hook-Quits) when they get something they don't like. And it's a childish mindset to think that people have no responsibility, or care, to other player's enjoyment of a multi-player game.
But I can see that many people on this thread are determined to have any excuse for why it's not their problem if they ruin the game for everyone else, so I'm out before I say something rude.
Actually I agree that it’s in bad taste to DC on principle when vs. a killer you hate, although I do understand OP’s frustration as Stridor Spirit is cheap. I just found the idea of people breaking friendships over Monopoly funny.

'No one is responsible for another person's fun.' Wrong.
When you log into a multiplayer game, everyone is expecting you to play it through to the end, win or lose. Just as you're expecting your teammates to not ragequit & leave you screwed over. It's called 'sportsmanship'.
Your comment is basically 'I don't care about anyone else's fun except my own'.
Do you see Esports players quit Overwatch League when they are losing? No? Because sportsmanship dictates that they complete the match, win or lose. That their team, and the enemy team, is relying on them to stay it through to the end. That's how social games WORK.
That's also why people don't flip the board when they play Monopoly with friends; because their friends will probably either smack them, or stop being friends with them. Since it seems most people online here are asocial; we have the DC penalty instead.
Your friends must take Monopoly very seriously 😂

Wraith????? Pig??????? Those two killers are really good, pigs dash is very good at closing loops, wraith uncloak post Speed lunge too?? + Wraith has incredible map pressure given his recents buffs too. Legions power comes from literally slowing down the game forever
Without bloodlust it just takes skill to play. If you rely on it, get good period
I can’t tell if you’re serious or trolling.
-
The 5 second stun every time I successfully down someone is just clunky and tedious, and knowing the change was unnecessary and poorly conceived just exacerbates the issue. Still a cool killer, but really annoying to play, and for absolutely no reason.
-
Alien.
Ripley.
Nostromo.
-
I enjoy jumping into a locker when the killer is half way across the map coming at me, and still getting grabbed before the perk activates.
-
He’s alright. Pretty average imho. He definitely excels vs. weaker survivors and can actually hold his own vs decent survivors pretty consistently. Great at weak loops and unsafe pallets but relatively bad at strong loops and safe pallets.
-
The filter is horrendously bad but this is what we get when so many people get hurt irl by mere words on a screen from a stranger in an online video game. Unfortunately, many people are just too sensitive and coddled these days and take immense offence at the smallest of things, therefore instead of simply censoring profanity, the devs went way overboard and censored...pretty much everything.
-
This is why statistics are troublesome. You can conclude a number of different things from this data and many of the conclusions are mutually exclusive.
-
Head On needs to have the 3 second timer removed or reduced considerably. It’s almost impossible to use effectively mid chase. The range and radius could do with a slight buff too. Far too many times the killer will be standing right in front of you but still won’t get hit. Highly flawed perk with very easy, common sense fixes that could actually make it usable.
-
I pretty much never get tunnelled or face camped. Sure if a team mate unhooks me in front of the killer, they’ll down me again, but that’s to be expected and is not tunnelling.
I’ve honestly only been face camped a handful of times in the last 500 or so hours of gameplay.
-
Wraith is average at best. Certainly nowhere near the top. While he’s great at catching people out of position, he’s one of the worst chasers in the game when it comes to safe loops/pallets. There is no way he can catch you at a T&L by uncloaking, not unless you mess up and put yourself in a bad spot. If you run the tile well he is forced to chase you as an M1 killer with no power otherwise the T&L becomes an infinite.
What Wraith is excels at is patrolling the map relatively quickly and catching people out position for a free hit. If he is giving you a hard time, try to only do gens by safe pallets/loops and things will go much more smoothly.
Use windows of opportunity and just run him from pallet to window to pallet across the map and laugh as your team smash the gens. If he’s smart he’ll leave you alone after a couple pallets.
-
He’s mostly fine tbh, as far as killer balance in this game goes at least.
Many people complain about his ability to teleport to gens which, whilst being strong, isn’t really an issue and is perfectly balanced and fair.
Nurse essentially has the same ability but with no cool down. She doesn’t need snares because she can just negate loops entirely. She doesn’t need movement speed because she can just blink to a survivor for the hit. She is widely considered to be either the strongest or second strongest killer in the game, yet she’s not seen as OP due to her skill cap.
Freddy is considered to be OP by many because he is easy to play and possesses a very well-rounded base kit including the ability to teleport to gens, even though he is massively weaker than nurse in pretty much every regard.
People like to complain and don’t really know what is truly overpowered and what is simply strong yet fair.
As for Freddy’s actual design, I can’t really comment as I did not play the old Freddy. His design seems mostly fine to me albeit with some very crappy addons, which lets be honest is not an issue unique to him.
-
Absolutely not.
-
I truly hope she’s not the killer. I wouldn’t complain and she’d be a decent fit, but I’d certainly be disappointed.
I think if you’re going to have a tie-in with such an iconic, beloved franchise, the killer should be someone/something iconic.
Whilst a nicely designed character, the vampire chick is new and and she’s mostly popular with people who like to meme or those who’ve a particular sexual fetish, thus she’s just not the iconic RE killer that I think would do the license justice.
-
Especially for newer consoles there should be a performance mode. My main gripe though is game brightness, or lack thereof. Game is obnoxiously dark on my Series X.
-
I think Hag is in a pretty good spot. Top tier but certainly not the strongest, with more counter-play than Nurse and Spirit. Seems reasonable to me.

What could have been a potentially nice meta change now is just a niche perk that somehow is worse than before the ptb. Sucks but the same people wanting lucky break nerfed will most likely continue to complain about how "Survivor meta perks haven't changed in forever."
The reality is that the PTB Lucky Break was insanely unbalanced. Even @ 45 seconds it’s a strong perk and will give you a free escape in the vast majority of scenarios. Also it can still be used as a get out of jail free card 2 times in many cases. When Luck Break was @ 90 seconds, some builds could keep it available for nearly the entire match. In conjunction with Iron Will and exhaustion perks, it was far too much power for far too little effort.

I agree with Scott and most others that these nerfs were/are extremely perplexing and it would be interesting to know what the developers were actually thinking because their actions don’t really match up to the reasoning they gave. I’ll echo Scott here - definitely some of the worst balancing I’ve seen in a game.

I’ve noticed this too. It will almost always give you the exact same group of crappy perks over and over no matter how many good perks you have unlocked.

Saying it’s not fun isn’t a very good argument though. Lots of stuff in the game isn’t very fun. Gen rushing with toolkits and or brand new parts for example. Keys etc.
The truth is, doing generators is a great counter. Then you’re @ 3vs1 with 2 gens left which is a very common situation and that’s if you haven’t already done 1 gen by the time camping initiates. If you get 1 gen done first you’re actually at a sizeable advantage.

He’s pretty average overall. Pretty bad in chase but good at catching people in bad positions and nice map traversal.

Camping, whilst annoying for the survivors, is perfectly valid and in fact in some cases it’s necessary or at least the only viable play.
In the scenario you gave, you should likely have at least 1 gen done by the time camping initiates. Cracking out another 3 gens whilst the killer stands around doing nothing will put you at 1 gen left. So that’s 3 vs 1 with 1 gen to finish. Essentially an easy win for the survivors.
Making camping bannable is nonsensical. The game allows killers to camp. You can’t just ban people for playing the game. It’s not an exploit. The mechanics are there already. It would be akin to banning survivors for face camping generators.

Pumped up: Press and release the crouch button 5 times to gain a 20% movement speed boost for 10 seconds.

I just want to be able to practice running tiles as a survivor for more than 20-40 seconds a match and without potentially throwing the game in the process.

Played against a lot of wraiths. Every unlcoak is a guaranteed hit.
If you’re out in the open or at a tiny loop/unsafe pallet yes, and rightfully so. Wraith is a sort of “hit n’ run” killer and needs to take advantage of poor positioning to actually benefit from his power in any way that isn’t simply patrolling the map.
If you’re @ a decent loop or safe pallet you can run him around with relative ease whilst your team blitz the generators. In these types of situations Wraith is an m1 killer with no power. Think trapper with no traps.
