Undying had to be nerfed because 4 survivors having a random chance of needing to take out 5 totems was too much.
But 1 killer needing to take out up to 5 totems in a game is perfectly balanced.
Spirit had to be nerfed because all you needed to play her was a pair of earphones. Now ironically all you need to play against her as survivor is…..a pair of earphones.
Also Wraith OP.
Wake up. They’re literally laughing at you as they suck up your cash. I quit playing months ago and you know what my mental health is better for it. Too many good games to get stressed out and frustrated with a bad one.
I do wonder sometimes whether DBD is some kind of psychological warfare data-mining project.
“Behaviour Interactive”
Hmmm..

It provides greater add-on variety by (partially) making some add-ons part of his base-kit. That way, players can use different add-ons while still retaining some of the benefits of the ones they were running all the time.
It doesn’t achieve that goal in practise though, because his other add-ons are so terrible that the vast majority of GF players won’t use them regardless, therefore it’s a net nerf.
What’s the point in having a few seconds off your power so you can move faster whilst stalking for example, when you can just use your power faster by stacking recovery add-ons? There’s a reason people use these add-ons almost exclusively. Baking some of their power into base-kit would be a great change IF there were other add-ons worth using, but there aren’t, therefore the change doesn’t achieve its goal.

But his Base Recovery Speed was buffed. This is the reason why the Add-Ons got nerfed, because he is less reliant on them now. And this was asked before that the Base Recovery should be buffed.
He’s just as reliant on them as he was before though. Most people use the recovery add-ons because they’re the only viable options. So while his base recovery was buffed, nothing was done to actually make the other add-ons competitive, therefore most people will still run the recovery add-ons, which are now slightly weaker with no upside.

It’s an objectively terrible change. People weren’t asking for recovery add-ons to be nerfed, they were asking for other add-ons to be buffed.
The fact that people were asking for something else doesn't mean it's "an objectively terrible change" (as if such a thing even existed).
His base-kit was buffed. That's always a positive, in my opinion. Killers should not be reliant on add-ons.
That’s not what I’m saying though. The point of the change was to provide greater add-on variety, but it doesn’t do that because his other add-ons are just as bad as they were before, so the change doesn’t achieve its goal and actually makes the best add-ons slightly worse. That’s why it’s terrible.

@Aven_Fallen said:
Out of everything you complain about...Ghostface? Which was asked for so long? That the Recovery Time is reduced? That the Add-Ons are nerfed at the same time is just logical.
Before, if you used the green and yellow Add-On you had 16 seconds of Recovery (30-8-6). Now you have 17 with green and yellow Add-On (24-4-3). Hard Nerf. /s
If you use the yellow and brown Add-On, it is actually better. Before 20 seconds (30-6-4), now 19 seconds (24-3-2).
Now at least you can think about using something else than Recovery and only use 1 Recovery Add-On or even none.
It’s an objectively terrible change. People weren’t asking for recovery add-ons to be nerfed, they were asking for other add-ons to be buffed.
His most viable add-on combination was nerfed. Yes, you can now use any combination of useless add-ons and have your power up slightly faster, but that is not a buff, nor is it a positive change, because the add-ons in question are essentially…useless. The only viable one is an iridescent so you can’t even use it consistently.
-
Wraith was mid tier. A mid tier killer is getting nerfed because a few people complained about him in the forums lol.
-
Well that’s good news.
-
Wraith was far from OP. He was just strong vs bad survivors but could be countered with relative ease. Admittedly not the most fun killer to face, but that’s no reason for a nerf, unless you’re… 😬
-
Built to last + inner strength + streetwise + toolbox will be pretty insane.
-
Built to last + Inner Strength is going to be pretty OP.
-
In a vacuum where all gens are right next to each other and you can just sit on them for the entire match without the killer doing anything, I agree that it’s faster to just sit on the gens.
However in an actual match there are going to be numerous scenarios where you’re forced off gens for a number of reasons, and where you have to travel around the map from one gen to the other etc. In some of these scenarios, standing in a locker for 12 seconds has much less of an impact, sometimes none whatsoever.
Also we need to consider interactions with other perks such as Inner Strength, as well as how impactful burst gen speed is at pivotal moments vs regular gen speed on an uncontested generator.
It’s early days but I reckon the new BTL is going to be pretty damn strong for gen rushing.
-
I think the deathslinger changes are rather shortsighted. I get that he’s insane in 1vs1 but it’s compensated for by his terrible map pressure. His bad maps will probably be horrendous to deal with and I really think he needs something to help his map pressure as compensation.
-
I’m 50/50 when it comes to the built to last change. I mostly play survivor but gen speeds are already pushing it and combining BTL with Inner Strength is going to be pretty insane. Plus even in its own, there are plenty of scenarios where standing in a locker for 12 seconds has limited of any impact on your ability to do gens. Also the burst speed that toolboxes give you can make or break games at pivotal moments and this ca far outweighs the 12 seconds of standing around.
It’s going to be fun to come up with some crazy gen rush builds but it’s going to feel a bit cheap at the same time.

That's just the basic stuff is what I'm saying. When you actually look at how it plays and stuff, it is very different and can't really be compared all that much.
The things I listed are some of the core mechanics and the games in question would play very differently without them. DBD without looping for example.
Of course the games have many differences too, and importantly they play differently - they are different games after all - but that doesn’t mean they can’t or shouldn’t be compared.
-
@Peanits said:
Replenishing toolboxes is something we kept in mind. The benefits to recharging your toolbox would be offset by the time you spent hiding in a locker. Overall, you'd be better off working on the generator (even if you don't have a toolbox anymore).
That sounds fine on paper, in a vacuum, but in practice things are often quite different and not so simple.
There are numerous scenarios where being in a locker for 12 seconds has very little or absolutely no impact on your ability to do gens.
Also burst gen speed is more impactful than regular gen speed. There’s a big difference between finishing a gen that is not being pressured, and burst repairing a gen that is near completion at a vital turning point in the match.
Think about the implications of the above points in light of this new change.
I’m a survivor main and this change is going to make gens fly by at absurd speeds more often than not, especially in coordinated teams.

I want you to compare them. What are some big comparisons between DBD and REsistance or DBD and F13? Enough to be something you would suggest to a DBD fan for it being like DBD and they'll probably like it because of them liking DBD.
Anyone can compare a game to any other game for any number of reasons.
But alright. DBD + F13 for example. Both are asymmetrical horror pvp games. They both have a killer vs a team of survivors. Both have looping. Both have objectives. In both games you can escape from the killer. Etc.
I don’t know enough about REsistance other than it’s an asymmetrical pvp game.

That isn't my point. I'm saying they have not many meaningful comparisons in the gameplay other than its 4v1
Even if that were true, which imho it is not, why would it mean that people shouldn’t compare the two?
-
People are going to compare games. Why wouldn’t they.
VHS and DBD for example. Why not compare the two? They’re both 4vs1 asymmetrical pvp games. They have similarities and differences. Just because they have differences doesn’t mean they can’t be compared.
-
Nurse is fine. She’s hard enough to play that the average nurse doesn’t over perform, but she’s powerful enough that the best of nurse’s can compete at the highest level in pretty balanced games.
-
I don’t play her at the moment because she just feels cheap and dirty but I’ll define play her after the nerf.

"Just do bones" in response to noed is not a good response.
Cleansing 5 dull totems, which in most cases does nothing for you, in the preparation that the killer might have one of 90 something perks out of the 4 they can choose is just a waste of time most of the time.
Just find the lit totem once it activates then.
-
Depends how how his addons are being changed. He could just be more consistent or he could be a bit stronger too.
-
That’s a bit weird but whatever floats your boat I suppose.
-
Trapper will barely perform any differently from live (unless people come up with an interesting play style for the new sack.) He’ll just be more consistent now, which a good start.
-
Well that’s incredibly disappointing. There’s no bot mode in the game currently. There’s an extremely bare-bones tutorial on one map, with one killer who just walks at you swinging at your back and missing, but that’s far from a bot mode.
-
Significant improvement for me as a survivor. Games are far more balanced and competitive now, with the majority being close calls either way. I’m genuinely surprised it’s working this well and I hope it scales consistently as my skill level improves.
-
Voice comms like in the vast majority of multiplayer games would be great. Just make them optional.
That doesn’t really solve the SWF issue though as this game is designed around a lack of communication. SWF bypass a bunch of the intended game mechanics and you can’t really solve that unless you make it impossible to use comms somehow.
A debuff for SWF is the only viable thing I can think of at the moment.
-
I’ve been getting very quick queues on series X. Maybe it’s because I’m in low SBMM.
-
Significant improvement for me. I’m reasonably new with a few hundred hours and the majority of my games now are very balanced. Gone from escaping once in a blue moon to a 40ish % escape rate. Team mates seem to mostly be around my level and I can actually run the killer for more than 20 seconds.
-
As a newer player with a few hundred hours it’s working good for me at the moment. Not played too many games since the update but so far there’s a noticeable difference with games being far more balanced. Now I can actually practise looping and learn the tiles/maps instead of facing killers with thousands of hours experience.
-
One issue is that out of say a couple thousand hours gameplay, you may only get to practice looping for a couple hundred hours, which given the number of maps and tiles, really is not much at all, and looping is the most important skill in the game.

Literally 1984. First they don't let you say Myers in a video game, the next thing rats are eating your face
The chat filter is dumb but let's not get overexcited
It’s not very exciting. And you’re sort of missing the point but alright.
-
The issue is there are a bunch of people who regurgitate what some streamers have been saying about MMR, without realising that they aren’t in the same tier as the streamers and therefore won’t be affected in the same way. The vast majority of people will not be in constant sweat-fests because they simply aren’t good enough at the game to be placed that high. However, they log in to play a couple matches, have the usual DBD experience with camping and teabagging whilst MMR is working out where to place them, and they conclude that the streamers must be correct.

The chat filter needs a toggle, im an adult, I don't mind seeing bad words and bhvr doesn't need to coddle me like some 10 year old who still giggles at someone saying vagina.
Unfortunately you are being protected from yourself for your own good. This is 2021. It’s progressive and powerful to treat adults like toddlers. Don’t be problematic. Get with the programme, or else you’ll be corrected.
-
There seems to be an extremely vocal minority of people who are regurgitating what some streamers have been saying about MMR but aside from that I can’t see it as being a bad thing. Will try out some games soon.

Did you mean he should have 5 addon Purple bag, Blood coil, Green setting, Green coil, Green stone into basekit?
I dont know why people think slam in add-ons into basekit is a way to buff killers.
Purple bag because it’s ridiculous that trapper starts with only 1 trap and the other bags don’t cut it with the current pacing/balance of the game. Injure on disarm because it’s far too easy to disarms traps and it disproportionately punishes the trapper so there needs to be some kind of an additional trade off. Setting speed because setting traps is slow and cumbersome and the ga,eh as changed a lot over the years with much faster pacing now. Seems perfectly reasonable and rational.
-
I think the purple bag and the injure upon disarm addons should be default, trap spawns revamped, default setting speed increased, default disarm time increased, and escape mechanism revamped.
-
That’s a pretty bad take. MMR is for the average player so that they can be grouped with people in their skill level. No x100 hour killer wants to consistently go up against a 4 man swf of collectively several thousand hours. Just as no decent red rank survivor wants to get grouped with a yellow rank who urban evasions across the map to self care. Most of the high level players who don’t want MMR enjoy stomping new players imho.
-
Pretty sure most things you can think of are against the forums rules, just as most things you type in-game will be censored.
-
DBD is a military black budget psychological ware fare operation designed to psychologically abuse its test subjects and to collect the data via the forums.
-
Alien.
-
I’m on Xbox series x so it’s always been like that for me lol.
-
DCs happen literally all the time now. It’s not uncommon to have several games in a row where at least one person DCs. I just played my third match ever as Oni with no adding and one perk and someone DCd near the end of the match because I hit them one time with a standard attack.
-
Kindred and bond for sure but there’s probs quite a few. I’d rather them not become base kit but with SWF having so many perks for free and therefore avoiding several game mechanics, it’s pretty much needed.
-
Aye there’s no bot matches at the moment. Heard they’re being added but not sure if that’s accurate. There is a gimmicky little tutorial thing on one map with trapper though.
-
I just turned in my Xbox and dbd has a 16gb patch.

How so? They clearly state that wraith is a male.
Well that’s your opinion and you’re absolutely entitled to it, but I’m still going to refer to zhe as she/her.

Wraith is currently the stongrest killer in the game in my IMO. Not only can she get around the map as fast as Nurse but her cloak has no cool down unlike blink so it’s better for not only mobility but kills too. The speed boost eliminating loops like blink but with infinitely spammable unlike blink.
Then she is also invisible as well so you never know that she’s coming till you hear the bell unless you are forced to use low tier perks like spine chill instead of more exhaust.
I think she is basically the best parts of Nurse and Spirit kit melded together into one super overpowered kit with far too much capability and no counter play.
Wraith has Spirit power with no cool down but she can still see survivors and her speed boost after power ends up faster and last longer than spirit.
But also basically Nurse power too because it renders all loops useless and speed boost is basically like a blink BUT it also get around map faster than blink and with no cool down.
Stupid gullible killer.
