This post leaks bias.
there’s no way to punish the swat swf without punishing all the casuals who are just playing to have fun with their friends.
instead of just flat out nerfing it entirely
Rework/nerf OOO
buff weaker killers
buff solo surv so people dont feel compelled to only play swf so they dont get screwed over by terrible teammates
Man, there is no such thing as playing this game casually. Human nature means we want to win, and we will take any advatange we can in order to do so.
The people that claim to play this game casually still play to the best of their ability. This isnt like an RPG where you can play the game just for content, it's a pvp with very little content on both sides, winning is the only objective.

For me...there's no greater feeling...than 360ing a Bubba chainsaw
Killing a cocky survivor thanks to a braindead play. Like when they're teabagging at the exit, but are just a hair too far away, so they don't escape. Or landing a shot with deathslinger while they're teabagging.
I had a survivor teabagging on the hatch while I was a cloaked wraith, he didnt know that wraith can close hatch while cloaked. Slapped it shut, hit him with noed and got the 4k.

What is it with you guys
you play so sweaty (which is understandable) but when you don’t 4K the game is unbalanced
l just played against a rank 1 Freddy (we were all solo) he got a 3k one got out through the doors. It was a good game everyone said “gg”
then he goes on this rant about the game is unbalanced against killers.
so for red rank killers it’s 4k or bust?
3k is fine by me, I only ######### about the game being unbalanced when I encounter survivors that know how to abuse the survivor sided mechanics.

Lmao i've gone against many skilled killers and lost. I'm not mad because the games aren't an easy win, i'm mad that it takes no skill to stand infront of a hooked survivor until they die and then turn around and act like they're the best killer in the game.
Then you're a bad survivor. I had a fairly coordinated solo team on lerys. They didnt loop pallets at all just threw them down and ran.
That SHOULD be an easy win for killer, but 13 pallets later, they still had pallets and the gens were done. I did everything a killer should do, and there was nothing that could be done, simply because they split up on gens.
-
@momkisser said:
I constantly see dumb ass killer mains tunneling, camping, and down right being dumb as hell because they're mad at survivors. They constantly use gen rushing or SWF as an excuse to do these things but what else are survivors supposed to do? Doing gens is the objective, why are you mad? SWF shouldn't even be an issue. If you can't counter a well coordinated team that says something about YOU as a killer. YOU'RE bad. Survivors don't owe you easy games because you're too brain dead to do your job efficiently. Survivors shouldn't have a disadvantage because they want to play a TEAM BASED game with their friends and work as a TEAM.
So you say that survivors aren't supposed to give you an easy game, then proceed to complain because killers aren't giving you easy games? You say that gen rushing isnt a thing because it's the only objective, then proceed to complain when killers tunnel.... biased much?
As for countering a coordinated team, it can't be done. Gen speeds and the amount of pallets make it impossible.

It might be my region cause AUS is pretty chill for the most part. So naturally my view of this game is pretty bias
I got a lot of survivors from Mexico and Chile. Most of my games would have a swf with between 2500 and 9000 hours each. Dead hard, ds, unbreakable, and borrowed time. They would rush gens hard, like two to three popping in the first chase. Every single one would be strong loopers and not fall for any mind games. Perfect coordination with saves, body blocks, and having someone on the door when the last gen popped.
I would throw everything I had at them, but the gen speeds just wouldnt let me win. This would happen 7 games out of 10. People say this shouldn't happen, but it did for me. People said I was just bad, but I am wrecking the console players and people of my own rank.
I don't miss playing those teams all of the time.

I see a lot of post about all these "Toxic" SWF groups and how they "ruin" the game for the killer. if you're a killer main and you lose maybe just take a second to think "Where did I mess up" not every potential you go up against are here to bully or tryhard some are just trying to relax and have fun. Maybe try learn from the games that you lost.
There are regions in this game where its nothing but insane try hard teams. When people go against that, it tends to make them jaded.
I went against that crap constantly, I quit the game. Once crossplay happened, I started getting these weaker teams and holy crap is the game more enjoyable.

You... Are... though. That's called being more skiled. If you cannot win by any amount of skill, that's dumb luck and RNG. And then he can counter you, and you can counter that counter, and he can counter that counter's counter... Etc.. It's all about that!!!
No, you're not. The killer should always win in a 1v1, it's about how much of his time you can waste. If everyone could counter the killer, the killer would never win and you wouldnt have much of a game.

Haha that is the funniest thing i read on this thread. The killer comes ooooo i sprint burst away, very much skill. Dead hard all the way, if it works it is very strong not op tho. Killers can counter dead hard well. However dead hard does make a strong loop way stronger. But then the strong loop might be the issue. In that case the pallet should be the goal of the killer and the killer should lose the chase after that pallet is kicked, Dead hard is useless without some pallets near, so kicking them counters dead hard indirectly. Over perks that are OP lets talk about DS....................
Someone sprint burst away, fine I don't chase them. Someone has deadhard, they waste a minute of my time, then reset the chase entirely.
Yeah, getting rid of the pallet is all well and good, except for the lovely fact that there's a good 15 more on the map that are equally as strong and if everyone is running dead hard, you have no chance at all.

Dude we are playing the same game, we use the same character and watch the same youtubers, theres not such difference, its disgusting how much hate pc or console are getting.
I have no idea, I absolutely love cross play. Every single match I had on pc was the same 6 perks, the same tactics, the same gen rush. I got so bored and so toxic that I quit the game for a month.
Now, I encounter new perks, new strategies, and people that aren't focused on hammering out gens as fast as freaking possible.
The fact that I'm not sweating so hard means I can relax and enjoy the game, which also makes me less toxic. I haven't camped or tunneled or run a mori since this started. Even when I get gen rushed, I am not concerned since it's not happening every single game.

Say you're in a solo queue. Say your buddies inadvertently let Myers build Evil 3. Say this applies universally, to every character regardless of perk (because actual real counterplays should be basically kinda universal).
What do you do as a "any perk" survivor (let's take a level 1 Dwight with Leader for the memes), when Myers gets Evil 3 and starts chasing ONLY you?
Michael Myers as bad as, sometimes worse than Spirits. Overpowered.
People are under the impression that you're supposed to be able to counter everything a killer does. You're not. What you're doing is stalling time for your team to do gens. Use your loops and get better perks.
-
Dead hard when used as intended is fine. When used for distance, not fine. Sprint burst takes so much more skill to use properly. Dead hard makes the killer waste so much of his time.

What I've noticed:
As Killer: 30 matches
- 26 4k matches (I count carrying the last survivor to the hatch as a 4k for this purpose) with at least 2 gens left in all. These matches had at least 3 console survivors in each. They were total potatoes. The worst rank was rank 8 with most being red rank. I'm rank 2 now. These guys do not do gens. They Urban Evade and Selfcare constantly. Dumb move vs Trapper and Pig.
- 2 matches with 4 PC survivors - both were very good SWFs. Though they were fun matches, I admit to losing both as all 4 escaped each time. To my credit, they were all on death hook and I let the last one go in one of them. Gens were flying off shelves like toilet paper in a pandemic!
- 2 Matches with primarily console survivors where 2 escaped.
Overall findings - Console players rely too much on 360s, which don't work well vs PC killers due to optimization. They tend to run more Selfcare, DS and Urban Evasion. Selfcare makes you the killer's best friend (you are off selfcaring while I down another survivor. By the time you are healed, I hit you again. You are not on a gen - thank you for that). DS is great if you are facing a tunneling killer, but I prefer to seek and destroy the next in line. I got DS'ed only one time in all of those games. Overall, I grew bored as heck facing so many potatoes. I thank them for the BP, but I prefer to be challenged. The only fun matches I had were vs those two SWF.....Gawd help me! I actually was happy to see an SWF!!!! Oh, then there is a disappearing bug. I have had several console survivors literally vanish in front of me. Just POOF! Gone.
As survivor:
12 matches (I don't like playing solo que as it is - this was even worse!!!!)
- The Selfcare/Urban Evade survivor teammates from console were about as useful as a football bat.
- 8 Matches vs Console killers - pure nightmare. They are yo-yos on my screen. They seem to glitch back and forth. Timing pallet drops or vaults is very hard due to their frames being so low. I got hit through more walls and solid objects than ever before. I had a huntress hit me from 30 meters while I was hiding behind a T-Wall. Literally through the wall. We were not in chase, just BAM! WTH?! I think a lot of the console killers are thinking that PC survivors can't loop well, but in reality, it is a huge problem timing your loops when the killer is phasing throughout the map. One second he is roughly 16 meters away, then you get smacked!
Overall findings - Some of the console survivors broke the mold and played well. I saw why they 360 so much. The console killers really struggled vs the 360. I started using it when I'd see a phasing yo-yo killer chasing me and it worked really well. I was able to make that poor Doc miss 8 times in a row! That's a new record! I never got more than 2 in a row before - I'm not very good with 360s. The console killers were very difficult due to timing issues. Before figuring out to just 360, I struggled on loops because I could not tell if he was in swinging distance or not.
In short, I turned off cross play. It is a disaster.
I've noticed similar things. I've been spun by console players a lot more than I ever have pc. Console players seem to enjoy the chase far more than pc players. PC guys will hammer out gens as fast as possible, ignoring healing and saves, then blame the killer for not pressuring better.
One thing the console guys need to stop doing is trying to 360 after being hit. PC killers can locate you, and then you wasted the sprint burst.
Overall, I love the cross play, I don't feel like I'm under a constant time crunch, and because of that, I don't use scummy tactics.

I have only played games vs pc players and I can tell you that it is the same, they do the same loops and hide the same there is no difference that makes them stand out. on consoles it is easier to find SWF groups so it also has its difficulty.
I had three console players and a pc earlier. I spotted the pc guy instantly, full meta perks, purple flashlight, knew exactly how to run the loops. The console guys, not so much. Maybe I just haven't encountered the good console players yet.

Maybe it’s from having 5000 hours in the game and memorizing every loop, counter, and mind game there is that when I VS PC players I’m not at all surprised. Or maybe it’s because I’m playing on a Xbox one X with a 1 ms response time monitor.
I will say one thing, PC players seem more tactical that Console players. Their timing and efficiency is their advantage on console players.
Also, FPS needs to be prioritized now that crossover is active. This is hurting Console way too much and does give a competitive advantage to the PC player base which is NOT okay.
Other then that, it’s not as bad as some people make it out to be.
Play late at night. Trust me though, there are some terrifying teams out there.

Theoretically, the cross oaly has just started and if you are rank 1 it means that you can defeat all console and PC. I believe that the best advantage that pc killers is that they use a mouse and console killers their thumb
I haven't encountered a sweaty console team yet. Before, I would encounter them in about 70% of my matches on pc. I don't know if pc players are better, but they definitely play harder and more serious.
I'm loving how chill the survivors are, I can actually enjoy the game, rather than sweating my balls off every game.

Like, all of these have reasonable counter play my man. Just because it's not how you want to play doesn't mean it's not counter play.

I'm old, much older than most of you. I played PVP games back when they very first started, followed on down, and now I'm here playing this one. I got really into Team Fortress for awhile. Oddly enough, nobody every spent time whining and winging about right of way, or whether you should let that guy get away, or what was an acceptable way to machine gun the opposing team to death. Back then PVP was pretty straightforward. Like I said, I'm old. Perhaps I'm just too old to understand this new generation of entitled snots who feel that other people are somehow responsible for their fun. That we can be rough, but not too rough. There seems to be so many people now who seem to think PVP is more like some kind of cooperative song and dance.
I'm not trying to sound mean, but I know it comes off that way. Toxic behavior doesn't exist inside the game. The game is the game except in the rarest of cases. Toxic behavior happens before or after a game (mostly after). We have people who gloat and strut in victory. We have whiners getting salty and defensive in defeat. It is pathetic. Losers. I have a fun anecdote from just last night....
I was playing Myers (as I'm focused on him right now) and got Haddonfield. The game gets going and seems pretty typical. The Survivors are a bit weird and keep going back to Mikey's house, not going around doing lots of generators. This is a poor tactic and I assume they are new, so I'm not going out of my way to be hard on them. They keep putting all the pressure on that one Generator and I keep hitting them (breaking it up a bit) so I don't down them figuring they will get the idea on their own that they are spending too much time here.
Well I'm carrying the Tombstone Piece and one of them runs right into me (kind of cheeky) and gets Mori'd. I didn't want to Mori her, but the Tombstone Piece kicks in automatically if you are Tier-3 and they are real close when you hit. Then the rest of them... get even more cheeky. They are clearly (to me) SWF and coordinating every move. They keep trying this weird trick where they go out on the roof crouch (two of them) and one is to lead me off and the other go back inside. I fell for it ONCE... on purpose as they were not very good at it. Then when they still would not take the hint one tried to go back in through the window while I was barely out of it and Mor'd herself too. I hit the other one and went to the ground and threw him on the middle of the street to look around for a hook I wanted and now Stalk for the last person. Using the Tombstone had drained me out of 3.
The guy immediately disconnected. I thought this was an odd choice but shrugged and ran down the last survivor, hooked and sacrificed her. They were all much lower Rank than me. In deference to the rules here I won't give their names. They were salty and profane. I kind of shrugged an laughed. Then they started saying were were just here to Troll anyway. I said, "Really? Kind of backfired on you didn't it? Troll me some more whenever you want because I like these blood points." My point is what they did in the game, whatever the intent, wasn't Toxic. It is what they did AFTER the game that made it foul. The best games I've had were super sweat, hard fought and ended badly for one side or the other but we all were friendly and respectful. Toxic isn't game play. It is how we comport ourselves OFF THE FIELD.
Preach on my fellow old fart of gaming. I'm old enough to have played Duke Nukem 3d over modem, and I saw the launch of battle net. I come from a git gud family, where there is no mercy in games, regardless of age.

Legit, real question. I honestly haven't seen any actual, legitimate answer to this. Essentially 100% of it I've seen so far on the forums is people crying about very specific scenarios and how they got caught while doing it.
Anything without legitimate counter play. Ds and unbreakable. There is nothing you can do, you either make them waste it, or let them have free run for 60 seconds.
Dead hard for distance, there is absolutely nothing you can do, but let them reach the pallet and start the chase over.
Mori camping, nothing you can do about it.
Strider spirit to a degree. Nurse to a degree as well, but it takes actual skill to get that good.

No I'm complaining that it's not the easy "fix" everyone claims it to be. It's not affected by floors. So it can proc if there's a totem above or below you. Totally not confusing or misleading at all. I'm complaining that it is a garbage perk and THAT'S why no one ever runs it.
Let's see: I don't run DS, I don't run Dead Hard, I don't run OoO, I don't run BT often, I do run Adrenaline sometimes, I do run Iron will sometimes if I have it on whichev survivor I'm playing, I've only used Head On a number of times, I barely ever run Quick and Quiet, I run Sprint Burst a lot cuz I'm boosted without it and I can admit it, sometimes I run Empathy or Bond, I barely ever run Balanced Landing, I barely ever run Unbreakable, I barely ever run Spine Chill, I almost never run Self Care anymore unless there's a challenge for it, sometime I run Prove Thyself, Or Leader, never use Lithe, have barely EVER used Hope, don't really run Kindred as I don't have it on many Survs.
Do I pass your little test? I run maybe...2 "crutch perks" for surv. One which like NOED requires all gens to be done, and one that prevents me from hearing whoever I'm playing moaning all game. Oh and Sprint Burst. So maybe 1-3. Depending on what you consider crutch for Survivor and which survivor I'm playing. Which based off your bias I'm going to guess is: any perk a survivor runs.
I've never run the Small PP build. Or the Micro PP build.
Not that I really need to prove anything to you, dude who admits he runs NoeD because he can't pressure gens. Lol. Or because the bad mean survivors try to bodyblock for their teammates. Oh no. It's not like you can just M1 them or anything. Like if Noed procs you literally failed at one of your objectives as killer, preventing the survivors from completing gens.
Oh yes, Maps aren't rare, just run a perk to get one (maybe, if RNGesus is on your side), EZ. I used to run Plunder's a lot, you're not guaranteed a map every game, you're not even guaranteed anything GOOD every game. But nice try.
I think you're missing the point that small game removes several strong killer perks, and you're complaining that they're not easier to remove.
Yes, based on you not memorizing totem spawns, not liking dlcs perks, and not running the meta, I would say you're a casual survivor. Unfortunately, the top survivor meta is incredibly strong right now, more nerfs to killer is a bad idea.

Dude I already know you're biased af, but like. Seriously. Seriously. Detective's hunch is DLC only, Small Game also triggers off of hag traps and trapper traps, and it also is just a general cone, so sometimes even if you know a totem is "nearby" that doesn't mean much. If the totem is tucked away well enough good luck finding that #########. Small game says it's here...somewhere...in this 45 degree cone within 12 meters. That'll totally help when the totem is on the top floor of the Thompson house in an obscure corner that no one EVER goes to or passes by. Completely. Maps are rare. Also that still doesn't solve the Solo Q problem of, ehem, NOT KNOWING HOW MANY TOTEMS HAVE ALREADY BEEN CLEANSED. You might do four by yourself, never find the fifth one, you and your teammates may never find the fifth one (if they in fact are even cleansing totems themselves), Noed procs. "WhY DiDn'T yOu JuSt Do BoNeS???"
Idk man, just, didn't feel like doing bones after the first four. Just. Got lazy I guess. Y'know how it is.
It is a lazy crutch perk that rewards bad gameplay.
You're actually complaining that you have to look in a small cone and that it reveals the power of two obscure killers? The entitlement is real. I ran that perk for my archive, there was only one totem that was difficult to find, and even then it only took me 30 seconds.
This game is pay to win, or wait for it to come up on the shrine.
Maps are so not rare. Run plunderers instinct, you will get a pink map every game.
You see noed as a crutch perk that rewards bad gameplay, I see it as genrush insurance and a big f you to attempted body blockers.
What is your go to perk set? I get the feeling its chock full of crutch perks.

They do not spawn in the same general area every time, there are fyi more than 5 potential totem spots on a map, they are RNG dependent just like almost everything else in this game. OMG shocking.
So you're telling me, with no foreknowledge of where totems MIGHT spawn on a map, in Solo Q, with no map, no Detective's Hunch, No Small Game, that you'd be able to find and cleanse that totem? And EVERY OTHER totem, because this is solo q, and nobody is probably gonna do totems but you. You telling me you're gonna find that #########? Or even say you and everyone else cleanses no totems, but just tries to memorize where they were when you run across them (or hell even tries to cleanse every totem but one in a REALLY obvious place so if NOED pops you know where it is), JUST IN CASE of NOED, you're not gonna miss that totem? Really? Really really? I highly doubt it my dude, I highly ######### doubt it.
That's why I said general area, sure there's rng, but they will be somewhere around specific spots on the map.
So what you're telling me is that there are two perks and an item that will tell you exactly where the totems are, in addition to just memorizing where they will be. Dang, sounds survivor sided to me.
As you pointed out, there are perks and items that completely neutralize hex perks. The problem is that survivors don't want to give up that ridiculously overpowered meta, so they come on here, crying about how unfair hex perks are.

My biggest problem with the "do bones" argument (esp now) is, what if your NOED spawn was this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDoBzsMLw0k
About 9:47
(I know this is devour hope, but go with me here)
How do you reasonably and logically expect anyone to find this totem spawn, ESPECIALLY when dull. I do know that totem spawns have to be better than they used to be, aka not right out in the open where everyone can see, but this is going a wee bit too far methinks. This is the problem with the do bones argument. Right here.
Lol. You have a way to remove one of the killers strongest perks, and you have the nerve to complain that its difficult to find?!? Especially when they spawn in the same general area every time. I guess you want them all to be outside the shack, or directly across from a gen.

I noticed quite a lot of complaints about survivor perks in dbd, so I will give my opinion on them. The perks that are hated are, for the most part, exhaustion perks in general, adrenaline, decisive strike and borrowed time.
Exhaustion perks: yes, they are broken. They basically give you a free get out of trouble card when you should have been downed. They basically gain free distance that require 0 skill to use and can change the outcome of a game without any risk. Dead hard, for example, can be used for distance, and before you say "it is rare that it is used for distance and it does not give much", I get to use it that way every 2-3 games (assuming I have it on, which is rare due to me not wanting to use crutch perks).
Adrenaline: Well, the fact is: this perk is not a crutch. First of all, it requires to be alive when it activates, then you have to need it when it activates (because you might not be in a chase, in which case it is not game breaking) and finally, the killer often runs NOED.
Decisive strike: this perk is half good, half bad. Tunnelers deserve to get hit by it, but survivors often use it to be aggressive, which is just a free get out of jail card. Rework it so that the timer stops when the survivor is in a chase or in the dying state, so that the killer cannot tunnel and then slug, but get the timer to be only 15 seconds long, no time to be aggressive.
Borrowed time: well no, this perk is not dumb, if the survivor hooks rush you get into a chase immediately instead of needing to find another one, so the perk making survivors rush each other is fine. Most of the time, it is not used to rush, but to fight tunnelers, which is a good thing. I even think this perk should be base kit.
What are your thoughts?
I pretty much agree with this, sprint burst is the only non crutch exhaustion perk. It takes skill to save it, and the killer knows about it instantly. It's the ones you can save for 50 seconds into the chase and spring on the killer that need looking at.
Bt by itself isnt a crutch, when it becomes a crutch is when you rush the hook with ds. It needs a 15 second cooldown and it will be fine.
Ds is the biggest crutch of them all. Gives them way too much freedom to make stupid plays. Simple fix is if they're fully healed, or touch any interactable, it goes away.
Unbreakable is another one that by itself is fine, but gets weaponized with ds and soul guard.

Lately, I have seen a lot of killers complain about the game being survivor favored, while in reality the escape&death ratio is around 50&50. Even so, killers tend to think the game favors survivors. Why is that? No, it is not because they have smaller brains, no it is not because they are dumb, no it is not because they are entitled: the reason is that they feel stressed when survivors make progress. This is going to assume that it will be an average match.
Let me explain: when you down someone, chances are, one or two gens are going to be done. This puts stress on the killer, because survivors have already done 1 out of 6 of their objective (if we count that escaping after the last gen is as hard as doing one generator). Meanwhile, the killer has only done 1 out of 12 of his objective due to having 1 out of the 12 hook stages required. Then, the game goes on and in the end, survivors will have done all generators. The killer most likely killed someone by then and can catch someone else to camp and kill. This will feel bad for the killer, because they feel like they failed due to all generators being done, while in reality they have done ok by getting 2 kills. For survivor, on the other end, can still feel good even if you lose: you will still have been chased, done gens and unhooks, etc. You will still feel that you have done something and the dread feeling of defeat will not be here.
So, here is the solution: do not panic when generators get done. You can still get kills, in fact, survivors are supposed to be unstoppable for generators (if both sides have equal skill), otherwise the 2 kills 2 escapes ratio (which is what the game should be balanced around) will not be applied.
They are underwhelming. The problem with this game is that it has scores of terrible survivors that drag the average survival rate down, but the top 25% of survivors are unstoppable. This new mmr is going to show how broken this game really is, and the dev's are either going to lose their streamer/killer base, or they will FINALLY pull their heads out and fix this crap.

It's not having any individuality for the survivors because they can all take the same perks. It's the killers getting the best of all worlds. If perks weren't shareable, Laurie would be the only one with DS, and David would be the only one with Dead Hard. You'd have to learn to work around each characters traits. You see a Meg? You know she is gonna sprint burst as soon as she sees you. Is David hurt? Well he's probably gonna Dead Hard you're attack. It would also help balancing of the game, characters could even have overpowered traits that only they have, but each character has an overpowered trait so its even.
They need to take the meta and switch it to survivor powers. So David would have dead hard, laurie would have ds, etc. Buff it of course and keep the other teachables.

If you have someone hooked and the last gens are all close to the hook (3 or 4 gen situation), staying on that area is not even softcamping, its called gen control. If I have no reason to leave the hook (lose gens) why I should.
Instead of gen rushing like monkeys without thinking you should take care of which gens you left as last ones, because as Killer they force me to a 3-gen situation all the time.
As a Solo survivor, it triggers me too. Just try to do gens in different areas even if you have to walk 20 more seconds, you don't have to be a meta slave and just rush everything you see.
I had a group accusing me of camping. I was trapper, on ormond, with a fully trapped 3 gen and basement. What exactly do you expect me to do?

Please, again this is not about ballance! Stop with those arguments because they are not valid the slightest ty... You CAN make a killer that is fair and strong at the same time....
Clearly they can't. We have two killers that are strong and fair, but require a ridiculous amount of practice to play at a high level.
Its absolutely about balance. So long as gen times are fast and the survivor meta is the strongest thing in the game, you can't nerf the strong killers, just because they're boring to play against. You wind up dumpster fires like clown and demogoron when that happens.
A lot of people want a slow ads with deathslinger, but if you do that, he loses all chase potential and becomes awful. So you up him to 115%, but with the loops and obstructions and no ability to down over a pallet, he becomes "man with bayonet" and is still trash.

There has not been any "counters" to Deathslinger and Pyramid head given so far beside the drop pallet right away and LOS break (quickscope still counters this), which can only be called a bad joke.
Your spirit counters are also no real counters because they are only variations on how you wanna pull off your 50/50. Actually its not even a 50/50 when she is running stridor.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1499360#Comment_1499360
That does not have to be the case at all. Look at hillbilly or even Huntress. Both are fair, with a lot of room to play for both side without beeing unfair. The better player wins. Comapre it with Deathslinger... You can be the best survivor in the world with inhuman reaction, against a potent slinger you will just get hit every single time. You are not dodging Deathslinger, he is missing. And thats just unfair in my book.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1499402#Comment_1499402
He gets destroyed by Genrush. Its not about winning, its about the chase, and versus PH, chase is one-dimensional as hell. I am not saying he is OP, its just extremly boring and frustrating at times to play against. Thats why i say they should stop releasing those killers.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1499524#Comment_1499524
Make it fun for one side on the cost of the other side is never a good idea. I am not saying that survivors should have all the fun. Make killers that are strong but fair in chases, thats all i ask for. It should be super obvious that Slinger or PH is not fair in a chase. Not even mentioning Nurse and Spirit.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1499527#Comment_1499527
This topic is for not dried at all, its very relevant, because they still have not fixed and of those killers that gives all the power to one side. This is NOT a ballance discussion by the way.
Uh huh, and what about every other killer? You can be the best wraith in the world will still lose to an optimal swf, and that's unfair in my book. Fact is, this game is seriously unbalanced at both ends of the spectrum, so we all just have to deal with it.
-
@xEa said:
What have they all in common? They give little to no reaction time by faking their ability. Deathslinger can simply fake his shot as often as he wants, Pyramid head leaves you to no joice aswell once he is using his ability. You either drop the pallet and get hit or you dont and get hit anyway. Killers like Huntress might work similar but you have counterplay and you know when she is about to attack.
I am really tired of those concepts devs come up recently.. apparently they dont understand their own game. Its no "skill" when you can sole counter defense of survivors by pressing a button. Its extremly frustrating to guess if and when the attack is coming. And to say the least, it is just a guess, nothing more and nothing less.
Same with Spirit. Versing this killer is a guessing game aswell, which makes her frustrating to verse.
I know this video got posted already, but this topic is still very relevant and he discribes it in a very understandable way.
You either get short gen times and fast chases, or you nerf the chase potential and increase gen times. Killers NEED anti loop tools since every gen slowdown perk got gutted and don't synergize. So pick your poison, either fix gen times, or deal with short chases, because if both happen, killer won't have a chance.

First off, i love dbd, been playing on pc and xbox for 4 and 2 years. I get annoyed sometimes like we all do ut recently it has been at an all time high.
MMR sounds good in theory like dedicated servers and a dc ban, but this game has far too many issues and is nowhere near balanced or competitive enough.
So my issue with mmr is that the unbalance of the game will result in a boring sweatfest at high level play. Nurse Spirit, Freddy, and other boring killers every match as they are the only ones able to consistently beat optimal groups, while fun killers are limited by their kits to low ranks. Not to mention single killer wait times can get absurd at high enough levels and survivors can still last second swap or do other scummy mechanics in lobby. It'll be boring for survivor to only see the same 4-5 killers every match using sweaty tactics, and boring for killer to only face SWAT teams if they want to play their favorite/main.
And the last week of dbd has been unbearable for me, Every game i get the worst teammates ive ever had, usually a few hours played, die instantly, crouch around doing nothing etc, while every killer has been rank one, thousands of hours, going full sweat and I barely see anyone but Spirit, Freddy, Ghostface(my least fav killer in the game by far) and the occasional Nurse. My teammates who are either new to dbd or just awful always go down every few seconds, refuse to do gens and usually dc forcing me to stay n a 3v1 against the 10th Ghostface on Hawkins or lery's in a row.
Meanwhile no matter what killer i pick, i get entire red rank sweat squads. They last second swap, have thousands of hours, get lucky with maps that are always my killers worst, or bring the same boring Coldwind/Ormond/Haddonfield offerings and do 5 minute gen rushes, bm at the gate, and play as optimal as possible.
I find it insane that i get nothing like this when i play survivor, my teams are practically bots that feed insanely strong or toxic killers free wins. Why is a P3 Nurse with 6k hours and 40k kills going against me and 3 default claudettes on their first ever match? and getting killer sided maps like Chapel or Azarovs.
While every Killer match for me is seemingly always a 4 man or potatoes? They either pick a bs map or get lucky, ormond, midwich etc and pound out 4 gens in 2 minutes and all have the small pp build. Or they are total noobs just playing with friends that I annihilate with minimal effort and feel bad about.
Not to mention the awful map list keeps growing, map rng still exists, keys/moris/map offerings/DS/NoED all still exist, and solo is a nightmare compared to swf easy mode. while killer is just all around frustrating, oh and plenty of unbalance between killer powers, and meta perks making 90% of others awful or obsolete. Messy servers. Oh and the bugs, like silent slugs, broken vaults, huntress throwing a truck sized hatchet. Dc ban is great too I love being forced to stay if im stuck on a tree, or my 3rd haddonfield of the night. Oh yay another Freddy using a VPN!
Sorry for the jumbled rant, I love DBD and the dev team, I respect their care and efforts and love the community(most of the time) but DBD is seemly trying to kill itself with all of these poorly thought out changes. If you are going to do this, at least give rank rewards ad add a casual quick match mode. Sweat fests and lopsided matches aren't fun or fair when it is every last game. I can't imagine how much this crap will hurt our favorite content creators being able to have fun or good content and enjoy the game.
Thanks to whoever reads this, and the devs for keeping the game going. But I'm just so frustrated and worried for the future <3
I've been griping about this for months. Everyone said "oh these squads are rare, if you say you're getting them all the time, you're probably a bad killer, hours and rank don't mean anything."
As I said, these teams are far more common than people think, and when mmr hits, it's all they're going to be dealing with. The only good thing that will come of this is bhvr finally getting off their butts and realizing that this game is broken at the top. It's also going to be amusing to watch the "killer is easy" squad get their butts handed to them over and over and over again.

Or plot twist... Your not meant to 4k every game. Hatch is only broken when it comes to keys. You are not entitled to an easy 4k just as survivors are not entitled to escape. The hatch isnt going anywhere so get used to playing sweaty for the 4k or losing a kill.
If no survivors are dead and the egc has started, a shrine needs to randomly spawn, and if the killer finds it before all survivors have left, one random survivor will die. After all, you're not supposed to get a 4 man escape every game...
It would also stop survivors from waiting at the exit or hook bombing at the last second.

A tier killer, c tier survivor.
I can win against everything but the sweatiest of teams. It takes coordination and communication to beat me. If I get more than 5 minutes, I have a strong chance of getting a 3k.
Survivor, i can hit great skill checks, i understand when to save, and I can run most loops, but I can't carry my team. I need competent teammates to win.
-
@kate_best_girl said:
So everyone says if theres a loop you can't beat as a certain killer (IE huntress at a long wall) you should just abandon chase and let the survivor go but I don't understand how that helps the killer at all? Like survivors can just run back to the loop whenever they want so how does abandoning chase help?
Basically, horrible game balance forces you to abandon chase so you don't lose the entire game 4 minutes. If you encounter a strong looper at a strong loop, go for someone weaker. If you get 4 strong loopers, go stand in a corner, because you're not going to win. Seems perfectly logical to the dev's and survivor mains to have one side be unbeatable, but it's all good because you "rarely" encounter a team that can do that. Now here's a new skin, pls give the dev's more money.

First of all, I don't mean anything here to be disrespectful, so pleas please understand that. I main Trapper, who is one of the slowest killers to get going. He has to spend the early game setting up the map. You don't want to commit to long chases too early or you are done. I understand how fast those first few gens can go.
That said, "gen rush" claims annoy the hell out of me. What are survivors supposed to do? Hide in a locker for the first 45 seconds, the run from th locker to killer shack and back before starting a gen? They have only one objective that counts, do the gens asap. The longer a match goes, the more their chances of survival fade.
Getting upset at survivors hitting gens is as absurd as survivors getting upset at a killer for getting a hook within the first minute. We have one objective, kill the survivors.
My thoughts are that you either ran into a group who completely outclassed your skill level;happens to everyone. You perhaps made too many mistakes early? Did you commit to a long chase early in the game that cost you more time than it was worth? Be willing to break off a chase if it looks like it will take too long. Wound and move on.
Dud you tunnel or spend too much time proxy camping? A lot of killers rank up vs bad survivors in green and purple ranks only to learn that lazy strategy does not cut it so well at the higher ranks. They either whine, or learn to adjust their skills and grow.
Not enough data to know what it was. I'd suggest taking a step back and try to asses any errors you are making and correct them. That is how you get better.
Good luck.
The problem is objective time and information available. Survivor and killer should have similar objective times, roughly 7 minutes, unfortunately, survivor objective times are about half of killer times, and they have the numbers advantage. Anyone that's played this game for more than 50 hours can see this.
The second problem is information, the game is made around zero communication, so swf breaks it. They need to add 10 seconds per gen, per member in a party. So a 3 man gets 30 seconds added, while the solo is still at 80.

Fix for sure.

My point exactly most people dont use it. Also once again servey the area the saver is near by. For fl saves look at wall.
But when you do encounter it, its miserable. The wall doesn't always work.

Locker tech isnt bs and if you dont want to spend time leave. If it was so broken why dont more killers complain.
If you have a problem about dead Harding through a killer for a save when you could easily look around, bait the pickup, look at a wall, run infectious fright, run lightborn run franklins. Flashlights have so many counters and yet you still complain. Flashlights only got 4 good addons.
Link me the video of him blinding through a wall that's just straight bs but all right.
Because most people don't use it, it's still bs. You've clearly never dealt with good swf. You chase them away and they come right back. The pickup would be safe if not for the dead hard.

Then learn how to use his power to its maximum potential ; enhance your skills instead of relying of a fail safe.
Lol. Do you have that same advice for survivors that run ds, unbreakable, dead hard, and adrenaline?
Fact is, I will run any perk combination I want, if survivors are dumb enough to assume an instadown killer wouldnt be running insta down perks, that's on them.

Still you don't need Instadown and they have lot of stalk the only way you'll lose your stalk Is If you spam Tier 3
Well I don't think survivors need so many second chance perks. I also don't think adrenaline should give you a speed burst if you're already exhausted.
You can't always get what you want.
