Except that killers call something genrushing, when it is not. If I, a random and someone else happen to be on a gen while you chase the 4th person. We dont know what everyone is doing, all we know is that we are not being chased and the killer isnt coming for us. So we do gens, as we need to do gens to activate the gate and its counterproductive to stop doing gens unless someone needs saving. That is not a genrush, that is a lack of killer putting pressure on gens.

As for a killer, no, camping is not required for the objective. In fact, because you put all your pressure on that hook, that means there is 0 pressure on gens, leaving survivors with 1 option: doing gens. So its counter productive to camp, because instead of having 1 person doing gens(1 person on hook, 1 person going to save the person on hook and probably heal while you chase 1 person, only leaves 1 person to do gens) you have 3 people doing gens(1 on hook, you camping the hook and 3 people doing 3 gens at the same time). So while camping, you literally are forcing a genrush, while chasing someone for too long and not putting pressure on generators at all, you're also forcing a genrush.

Yes, killer is more difficult, but if you refuse putting pressure on gens because you like chasing that meg more than you like patrolling gens, then dont complain about a genrush, because you're not giving any other options. If you leave that meg, that meg first has to confirm you left her, that meg has to make sure its not tinkerer or anything else, then that meg has to gain her bearings and then that meg will start working on a gen from scratch, while you go interrupt someone who has been able to work on a gen for 60 seconds, kick that gen to start it regressing and then once you've chased them long enough, you go check back on that meg who probably is halfway done with her gen, while the gen you kicked regressed quite a bit.

Except I do know what a gen rush is. When you ignore lit totems, unhooks, heals, to focus on doing gens. When you split up on the first three, then triple up on the last two.

Gen pressure is a myth, it's impossible to pressure gens against a team that wants to rush and has at least two good loopers.

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be within 6, so that's outside that. Matchmaking is borked. It's whack that I basically have to depip to play against people that are the rank that I typically am.

Ping, wait time, fairness in that order. If you've been waiting for a while, it doesn't care about killer rank, anyone will do.

That's funny. He plays the same survivors every other rank 1 plays. Sounds like you just want to believe in home. That's your right, no biggie. Just don't fool yourself into thinking he gets placed into some special group of elite survivors. He just makes more excuses than Zubat or Monto would.

That's one problem with this community, they think because they get potatoes, everyone does, and anyone that thinks they face strong teams just needs to git gud.

When I get survivors from the Sao Paulo servers, they are significantly stronger than the USA or Canada survivors.

Again, I'm not going off his commentary, I'm going off what I see. His survivors make fewer mistakes than other streamers.

I’ve seen him pull the “this is a strong team, boys” card so many times when literally one of the survivors is any good at looping. He has set things up to where he can never look bad. Compare that to someone like Scott who will flat out say he blew the game. You can’t ignore it’s a rarity with Tru3, it’s always something else. I’ve seen him with games such as Huntress where at the start he’ll say it will be rough cause of the map (Which is a totally legit complaint), but by the end it’s shifted to the same ol’ 4 man SWF nothing I could do excuse. Even he seems to get confused on the reason he didnt dominate sometimes. As an experiment, give a shot at watching his stream with the sound muted so you don’t get influenced by the commentary. Might be interesting.

I've seen tru3 admit he screwed up many times.

Ok so I am going to try and keep this short and sweet feel free to disagree just no entitlement about it please. I constantly see survivors non stop sitting on gens instead of doing chases which is the main point of the game survivor/killer interaction but get upset when killers camp since no one will interact. So I ask what is the difference? According to survivors I ask it is because gens are part of objective. But killing is a part of the killer objective so what is the real difference? I’m not trying to condone camping I think it’s bad both ways I just want to bring light that camping is a thing on both angles and we should forget about just kills and gens and try to make it enjoyable for everyone.

tldr: sitting on gens and sitting on hooks are the same thing let’s avoid them both and have some fun interaction

Every time I get salt for camping, i point this out. They never see it as the same thing. Camping is boring for both sides....so is gen rushing. I'm just doing the objective....so am I. Gen rush is a legit tactic...so is camping.

Tru3 is highly overrated. He makes the "SWF" excuse a lot. Otz and Zubat put him to shame. I've faced Tru3 and he makes a ton of mistakes, then cries gen rush. I was not in an SWF, only 2 of the four were. He got one kill after he resorted to hardcore tunnels on the Jake. That was partly his mistake, we got three gens done during that and left.

Zubat, I've faced him and it was embarrassing how fast he wiped us out. 4 gens still waiting to be done. I'm sure he did not miss with a single hatchet. He is miles better than Tru3.

Excuses mean nothing to me, I judge based on how they play. His survivors make fewer mistakes and play stronger than anyone else I've seen.

  • @Karl_Childers said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1295241#Comment_1295241

Have you considered that maybe Tru3 just isn’t as good as you think? The narrative he uses is that any game he doesn’t win easily is due to a “4 man stretched screen optimal bully squad”. How often do you hear someone like Zubat rant and rave constantly about having no chance against survivors? Are we really going to believe Tru3 is the one streamer who gets nothing but 4 man death squads? Just think about it, hes in the business of making himself look good.

Watch them. Movement, coordination, knowledge of maps, the perks they run, how optimal they are on saves or gens are all top notch. I recognize it, because i deal with it. Like it or not, certain regions have a higher quality of survivor.

Watch his survivors, then watch umbra, you will see a clear difference in how they play.

  • Trapper makes me so damned paranoid, I hate going against them.

  • Tru3, because he has to deal with the very best survivors on a consistent basis. Umbra and monto stomp, but any decent killer would stomp the survivors they get.

The few times I've seen monto get the really strong teams, he's depipped.

  • That's my biggest problem with borrowed time and tunneling. If you've got someone farming you without bt, there is nothing you can do. My perk would solve that.

so youre absolutely willing to to say that a de-synched, laggy vault that was fixed is a nerf...? lmao the silliest mindset iv ever heard and you should get better at the game.

Did it massively improve your chances of surviving in a chase? Does it require completely relearning distances while chasing? Is the killer now at a disadvantage? Does it make these new long walls with a window in the middle extremely powerful?

It's not about being good at the game, with the new windows and the fixed vaults, you only have two options, abandon chase, or bloodlust, which means that the maps need even more work, because they're just as strong as the infinites if not stronger.

a survivor bug fix isnt a killer nerf lmfao. killers were granted way too many hits they didnt deserve with buggy vaults :clown:

If it improved survival odds, is absolutely a nerf. There's nothing about vaults in the patch notes, so the new vaulting could be a bug.

    @KettleWettle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1294613#Comment_1294613

It depends, if you're already outside of the window walking, you shouldn't be getting hit unless it's Huntress or Deathslinger. If you get hit after you vaulted the window and you're already standing up on the other side, then that's not right and for that reason vaults are very unsafe most of the time.

Yeah, if you've taken steps, then you should be hit, but I'm missing people that are still in the vault animation.

MASSIVE ADVANTAGE. Lol apparently fixing a bug is an advantage now...I guess when they fix pallet hits that's going to be OP too!

Well, considering that "bug" has been there forever, yes it's a buff for survivor. Just like fixing oni flick was a nerf.

    @KettleWettle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1294176#Comment_1294176

How is vaulting a window an advantage ?! As a survivor, you vault windows as a escape route and shouldn't be getting hit through windows because then what would even be the point in vaulting one ? Jeez these comments make my brain hurt

Killer is supposed to be able to hit through the window. Now its basically impossible once they've started the animation. You basically have to be ending the swing right as they're starting the animation to get the hit.

But they didn't "buff" vaults? They fixed a bug that sucked you back to the window when you vaulted

Call it what you want, it's still a massive advantage over the old.

Upset? Also I've played nearly every map since the update. There's no way Disturbed Ward was the only map to have pallets removed. Just going from experience being totally reasonable...every map i've noticed pallets were removed where they always would spawn one.

Facts are facts and they don't care about your experience. Devs have confirmed that pallets haven't been removed. You're just noticing the rng because you're looking for it. Even before the changes, I've been on gas heaven and the middle was a complete dead zone.

I was on pale rose with wraith and counted every pallet, had 7 total. It's just rng.

"They didn't remove any pallets on the new changes?" You serious? In front of Gas Heaven your lucky to get 2 pallets spawn, they removed the one at the back and they even sometimes close the whole back off. That's just for one map. Ormond I played main building and there wasn't a single pallet that spawned in it.

You're upset right now and not being reasonable. Check the patch notes, only disturbed ward had pallet changes. All the rest are just rng, like always.

I couldn’t fit the full title: Lately many killers try to make me think I’m getting the hatch before slamming it in my face. This has happened before, but lately it’s been nearly every game. It’s boring.

I’m usually the last survivor and when downed, I already consider it a loss. The killer giving me the hatch is nice for the bp and I do think “That was nice of him/her” but I’m still a loser.

Lately, I don’t even wiggle if there’s a hook nearby. But then they don’t take me to the hook; instead, they go to the hatch. In the past, this usually meant they felt like letting me escape for whatever reason. Now, in nearly every match, they take me to the hatch, drop me, slam it shut, and hook me. What purpose does this serve? It’s a waste of time for both of us. Plus it’s not like survivors care except for the wasting time part. We know we really lost.

I did get an old fashioned “give the last one the hatch” Cannibal recently. As soon as he passed the nearby hook, I started wiggling so he’d just hook me and be done with it (that’s worked in the past). He continued to the hatch and I wiggled free, but got downed again. He picked me back up and I wiggled again to let him know I knew he wasn’t giving me the hatch. He went to the hatch, dropped me, and I waited for him to close it but he didn’t. I crawled over to it and escaped and felt bad for making him carry me that far while wiggling.

Has anyone else had multiple killers carry you to the hatch so you can watch them close it lately? Does this even benefit the killer in any way? It’s so pointless. The only survivors who’d even care are rare (I assume), except they likely get annoyed the killer is taking so long to end the game. I didn’t think much of it until it started happening every time I was the last downed survivor. I took a break from the game for months and started playing again last week and noticed this trend.

I should probably mention I’m not a toxic survivor. No butt dancing, gesturing, farming other players, healing during a chase, DCing before being hooked, pointing to lockers where people are hiding, using flashlights, etc.

People suck and the lockdown is making them suck more. Was playing huntress last night against three potatoes and a god. Taters died easily, but the god ran me for a while when looking for hatch. I downed him and gave the hatch. He was shocked thinking I was mad about the chase, but I respect a quality player.

"Latest N00b3 video" dude, not every survivor plays like Noob3...granted I may be good at the game but i ain't gonna pretend i'm that good and most survivors won't be that good. Even with running Resilience and Spine Chill i'm getting hit way over windows. They weren't just map changes you can't see them like that, with shrunken down maps every perk works differently either being more or less effective. Then removing pallets and certain window vaults is even more nerfs? So how is it not a NERF?

Noob played bad in that video, plus I'm nowhere near his quality and rarely die on the new maps. On top of that, I play a lot of killer and trust me, I miss 95% of the vault hits that I used to get.

They didn't remove any pallets on the changes, they should have, but didn't. Take some time to learn the new loops and you will see that a lot of them were buffs.

  • @ItzPixelYT said:

This game is far from Balanced. It's a lot harder to play Survivor now. Majority of Killers run Nurses, Sloppy Butcher, Thanataphobia & BBQ & Chilli. Problem is they shrunk the maps, made gens slower, removed a lot of pallets & took away safer Windows. So with killers running these perks it takes forever to heal up and even do gens. I feel like the game is catered to the high end PC players that go against SWF every game. They only look at stats, they aren't bothered by what's actually happening in games majority of the time. I'm lucky to get 1 escape in an hour lately since the recent map changes and i'm Rank 1 survivor...not that i'm bothered for pips etc..but it's crazy how they made so many changes to the maps to support the killer and i'm happy with the smaller maps, but removing pallets and windows before they even fix being hit through pallets etc..is crazy. So now if we're even lucky to find pallets because they're harder to find now, even if we drop it in time we're still getting smacked through them. Not to mention the buggy window vault hits that are broken.

Even if camping is a tactic and people say "JUST DO GENS" it's not that simple...most of the time if you don't know the person they're gonna get mad you aint coming to save them so they throw on hook, but if you play with someone you know then you're going to try and save them because you also don't want them to die and get mad you didn't save them. Then Killer complain about SWF's? Then after all the camping and gens are done, here's NOED...but wait, just do bones? Sure so the time is takes for someone to be camped on a hook we're supposed to get 5 gens done on much smaller maps and cleanse 6 totems so NOED doesn't spawn...

Don't even get me started on 1 shot mechanics with the way the maps are right now it is a total joke. Dead zones everywhere.Broken Pallets & Windows. I think a Distressing Doc can cover a whole map with his static blast, FREE BBQ & CHILLI!!!

I'm all for Killers having the power role in this game it's the way it should be. But I really can't see any of your logic behind wanting to Nerf Survivors even more...

I don't know what you're talking about with the window vaults. They buffed the living dog dookie out of them. Watch the latest noob3 video, these map changes were far from a nerf.

  • Just lag. I had a hit very similar to that on pc. In shack, 10 feet away and behind the killer and got downed.

No, it doesn't. Things that happen in SWF doesn't apply at all to what happens in solo survivor. SWF has voice chat, does it not? Perks are better in SWF because of voice chat, are they not? Killers are at a major disadvantage in SWF, are they not? Explain to me how these things apply to solo survivor, I'll wait. How about you stop whining and don't play SWF, yeah? Thanks man.

It doesn't matter if it affects solo or not, see is in the game and you can't ignore it because solo is weaker. You either nerf swf, or buff killer and solo. Pretending it's not part of the game solves nothing.

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1288837#Comment_1288837

    You're ignoring a few things:

RNG for pallets, perks, random survivors ignoring to unhook you, unskilled killers that are able to recieve a hit when they shouldnt, latency ######### you over, Mori's, iri heads, random survivors taking down haunted grounds while you're the one being chased, randoms deciding to loop around your ######### hook and then blaming the killer for camping.

So no, if you're losing as a survivor, its at most 15% on you in the current state of the game. Yes, with a full 4 man swf, if they are all on my skill level, then still no, because most of the game comes down to mindgaming. If you lose as a killer, its 75% on you for greeding, 25% on the survivors making practically no mistakes. Stop ######### greeding for people, and perhaps you'll see why killers do not need buffs.

You can play the game perkless and add-onless with Billy, Huntress, Nurse, Spirit, Freddy, Trapper, Hag, Myers, Ghostface, Pig, Plague, Legion, and even Bubba for crying out loud, and STILL get a 2k with relative if you put your attention on the right person rather than simply chasing who you're chasing just because you're chasing them. Ever seen an Ayrun video? Guess how many of those killers would have actually gotten a 3k if they simply swallowed down their pride and went for the weaker links on the gens instead? Yeah, a survivor like Ayrun can loop a killer for 5 gens if the killer is predictable. But did they lose because Ayrun was so good, or because they refused to stop a chase they knew they wouldnt be able to win?

SO STOP WHINING ABOUT KILLERS NEEDING A BUFF WHEN THEY DO NOT, WHEN THERE IS A ######### VANILLA GAMEMECHANIC THAT REQUIRES A PERK TO COUNTER.

As for slowdown perks? Easy: take ruin, look out for a 3 gen, preferably with Ruin in the center or nearby one of those gens, make sure the survivors never get close to that 3 gen untill the end, grab surveillance, get tinkerer and discordance and tadaa. Impossible 3 gen that cannot be broken unless they allow you to hook the survivors. I mean, "If YoU'rE sO cOnCeRnEd AbOuT iT", there is a gen pressure build, if you lose that 3 gen, then its 100% your fault.

So you basically acknowledge that a strong survivor can't be caught and say to go for someone weaker, and then say that killer is too strong. You outed yourself as a weak survivor. Learn the maps, use strong perks, and escape the vast majority of the time.

  • @Predated said:

Like, not even that much and perhaps triggering from a larger height, but it just doesnt make sense to me that a survivor needs 2-3 seconds to recover from a massive height before they can start moving again while a killer can be charging at 110-115% from with 0 punishment.

For example: jumping from thompsons house(I do love the new window tho, thanks for finally making that upstairs hook a tiny bit less strong), I get a 3 second stagger. This in itself is not a problem, I am not running BL and if I use Lithe, I lose about 60% of my speedboost, this all, mechanically, is fine. However, the killer being able to vault, drop down, charge a hit/ability while falling and not recieve any penalty from falling to the ground always felt a bit odd(especially while carrying a survivor, you'd expect a killer who drops down from Hawkin's second floor to the first floor to have some impact).

Even if the killer had like 5-10% of what a survivor experienced, that still would be a massive advantage while still being a tiny bit of a punishment and would make so many structures accessible for a chase rather than only being viable when you run BL. Aka, iron works rafters, hawkins drop(which was super OP because of old BL, but nowadays is pretty much guaranteed death), dropping from a second story window in pretty much any building, carrying a survivor while dropping from a height etc.

Basically, you have structures in game right now that are 100% guaranteed hits for killers unless a survivor is running BL. Since the BL nerf, most survivors no longer run BL unless they use a map offering in the first place. So a lot of in-game structures are avoided by survivors because its a guaranteed hit for killers. Now by adding a tiny bit of stagger in massive heights(which also cancels/reduces charge time when still charging), you add a reason for survivors to try pulling a high risk high reward play, which would give the killer a 95% chance on getting a hit, but add a reason for survivors to actually use killer-sided structures without BL.

Stop whining. Killers need buffs, not nerfs. There are still a ton of resources for survivors to use, they don't need killer to stagger on a fall. Use balanced landing if you're concerned about it.

Yes, I know bl got nerfed, but ruin got hit hard, the current slowdown perks are a complete joke, and the gen times are ridiculously fast.

In the current state of the game, if you're losing as survivor, it's 100% on you, because killer doesn't stand a chance.

  • @Deadman316 said:

Then your issue is with SWF, not the game. I really wish you guys would stop complaining about things that are SWF related, SWF trials shouldn't apply to the overall game as a whole.

I'm sorry, but that's the silliest thing I've heard in a while. Swf isn't some mod that you can choose not to play against. It's a feature in the game, so it 100% should apply to the game as a whole.

    @Dwinchester

I gave you the other side of that coin, because there are too many variables and instances that occur during a match that it isn't just a one size fits all.

A survivor being in a swf team does not automatically gain them skill. If swf were actually OP simply for having comms, that means every swf would be winning. Which according to data is not the case.

It's super kindred. Tells you exactly who the killer is, where he is, and what he's doing. It tells you how many totems are done, it negates slugging, hard counters trapper and hag when used with object.

Killer relies on you not having information, which swf gives you a ton of. It would be like every killer having scratched mirror, then saying it's not op.

    Look, matchmaking is weird.

    We all know it.

    I hate it sometimes, too.

I don't know that players harping about it day in and day out on the forums is gonna help, though.

(And be honest, you know full well that as a killer you also have games where you utterly destroy a team of survivors that run straight for dead zones when they see you and drop shack pallet if you cough in their direction. The other day I saw a survivor at shack, and the moment I walked toward her she instantly dropped the pallet and teabagged. Like...uh...did you think that was a good thing to do? 😂)

Those are the rare games for me. Maybe 10% of my games are potatoes, 20% are decent matches in my own rank and hours, the rest are strong teams.

  • 6 months and counting, actually more like 8 months and counting because it was broke for a while before that announcement. Is it going to be another 6 months before some actual progress happens? Because your link means absolutely nothing.

  • @Bovinity said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1287585#Comment_1287585

I would argue that perhaps you're not playing as well as you think, if you believe that you're facing extremely high level SWF 4-mans that often.

Define playing well. Mind games, moonwalking into a 180 swing, switching targets, hit and run, slugging, not breaking unsafe pallets, not chasing sprint burst, and using strong perks are all in my playbook. 7 times out of 10, I enter a match with 4 players already waiting in the lobby.

But ok, let's assume that I'm a bad killer. Why exactly does matchmaking keep placing me against these people? Why am I not facing players of my own skill level and rank?

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1287562#Comment_1287562

    @Dwinchester

If the killer is good you will hear "Nvm guys I think he left me".... Other person: "Now he is on me I thought u said he was on you!" *gets grabbed*

Killer uses pop meanwhile 1 of the other people gets off the other gen to go for the save, so only one gen pops. Pressure created.

If you are chasing a survivor for 3 gens to pop, that is on you.

That's how the game should work, but with coms they always have information and can rotate. Not to mention that, with the amount of safe pallets and loops, plus second chance perks, no killer can win.

    @Bovinity said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1287562#Comment_1287562

Yes, it's well known that peak survivor play will destroy peak killer play.

Is it possible to fix that without breaking literally every other part of the game? Probably not.

Fortunately, you don't actually run into that peak play very often. Yes, you'll run into 4-man SWF groups a lot, but many of them really aren't very good.

The same bs excuse. I get them all the time, not rarely. Vpn to the San Paulo servers and play at 1am cst, then tell me how rare these players are. Guarantee you will be screaming at the devs to fix this crap. I would pay good money for the balance team to play on this region for a week straight.

What you've just suggested is rubber band balancing. The worse you do, the more of boost you get as the game tries to level things out and make the match closer. It's fine in a game like Mario Kart where you're playing with a couple friends so nobody feels left out (the guy in last gets better items that jump them forward), but when it comes to a game that people like to take more seriously, it just leaves people feeling cheated. You'd basically be giving killers free kills (regardless of if they're playing well or not) and then speeding up the rest once they get their freebie. At that point the game is arbitrarily handing out wins without any regard for who's playing better.

Stopping the generators from going off is meant to be something the killer does, not something that's guaranteed by an outrageously long interaction until people start dying.

That's cute. 4 man swf squad comes in on coms. 4 players on 4 gens on a coldwin map. Hey, it's a wraith, he's on me, keep working on gens. Alright, he hit me and is headed towards cow tree, get off that gen now, im on the gen by shack. 3 gens pop. Crap guys, im fixing to go down, hide in the locker on the jungle gym and hit him with head on. Ok, I'm jumping in the locker, use the locker tech flashlight save that's impossible to counter. Well, the gens are done, ggez, be sure to teabag the toxic killer at the gates.

So you had a single match a few weeks ago but that's not rare? 🤔

Just one that I recorded. Had three out of ten last night.

Fun fact: developers can split into teams to work on multiple things at the same time. In fact, it's preferred. Too many cooks and all that.

Then the team working on matchmaking needs better leadership, because it's unacceptable for the most basic function of an online game to be broken for 6 months. Matchmaking should have been fixed in days, not months. Should be the top priority, but it's not and here's why.

No money to be made. By the time killers figure out how bad it really is, they're past the refund period. Already have their money, so who cares if they quit? We have a new horror license in the works that will bring in new players.

  • @Respectfulnancymain said:

Im rank 8 practicing piggy and huntress and have only gotten genrushed once in 20 games. Am i lucky or are genrushing swf not as common as everyone claims they are?

Had one last night. They ignored lit totems, ignored healing, and ignored saves. Single minded on gens.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

Do you actually time your games? Because it's so rare for me to have 5 minute games. I've had games I thought were 10-12 minutes and the stopwatch on my phone showed it was actually 20-22 minutes.

When I do have 5 minute games it's just as often due to the killer steamrolling the survivors than it is the survivors banging gens out.

I do. Had a match a few weeks back, gens were done in 4:20, match was over at 5:30. Not a single prove thyself or toolbox. One of those "rare" matches where everyone was a strong looper.

Has anyone else just not had fun playing killer? You get gen rushed by toxic people who sit there going from pallet to pallet, taunting you with health kits or flashlights, and occasionally they get lucky stuns. Really bummer. Sucks also when you keep getting games like that, and derank like crazy. Now, I'm not even by any means a bad killer, I've been rank 8 and I think that's a fair spot for me. But since rank reset I've gotten down to 14 and some of those games have been disconnects. The aforementioned reasons are why. Why is it that people have to play like toxic scumlords instead of letting everyone involved enjoy themselves? Is it written somewhere that everyone has to be a piece of sh*t in game lately? I don't understand. I am asking for help to get me to understand why people must be toxic and pretend they're not. What does one gain from being sh*tty to another person in a game? Do they have pent-up aggression that they take out in people in-game? Are they that sad? Help me understand.

It's all matchmaking man. When I am paired against similarly ranked survivors, with similar hours to me, I don't have to sweat, I don't have to play like scum, and the matches are enjoyable.

When matchmaking decides that I am cannon fodder for rank 1 teams that tru3 calls the top 1%, the matches are terrible.

This game is designed around bad survivors, which allows great survivors to bully way too much.

Yeah, that's from almost five months ago. Have the Devs given any new updates on that new MMR system since then?

No, because mmr matchmaking isn't going to fix the no killers issue, it's not an issue that affects survivors, and it won't make them money, so it's low on the priority list.

Hello again! I wanted to see what everyone's opinion was on these topics. So basically, I wanted to know what people think about tunnelling (chasing the survivor who just got unhooked when there is another survivor), proxy camping (staying relatively close to the hook so that you can ensure the survivor does not get unhooked), face camping (standing in front of the survivor who is hooked to ensure their death/that they don't get unhooked), and flashlights (ya know the "toxic" item every killer complains about). LET ME KNOW ⬇️⬇️⬇️!!!

As killer, I get crap for playing nice, playing toxic, or playing sweaty. I get crap for tunneling, camping, slugging, or using a strong killer. The only time i don't get crap is when they get a 4 man escape. So screw it, play how you want.

I personally loathe flashlights, like most survivor things, they're way too all purpose. Can save people, aid in chase, hard counter hag, and hurt wraith. Plus they work from ridiculous angles.

  • @DelsKibara said:

    Trapper, Trapper, Trapper.

I much rather face all the other Strong Killers in the game at once than to play against a single Trapper.

I just hate going against him, mainly because good Trappers can basically stop a chase before it happens. And that's not what I like about the game as Survivor. I want to be chased, I want to risk my own skin to give my teammates time to work on generators. Trapper doesn't give me that.

With Freddy I at least can expect a ton of fun chases around multiple structures, with Spirit I can count on my knowledge as a Spirit main to read her and fool her everytime she phases, with Nurse I can juke her with LOS blockers, Huntress? Force her to throw at false doors or windows. Hag? She has to still teleport to you AND chase you with her 110% movement speed.

All of these Killers have one thing in common, they are all based around the Chase. And that's the one thing I love the most about this game as a Survivor. Feeling pressured and feeling unsafe only to risk yourself during a chase to give your teammates a chance to work on generators as safely as they can.

And Trapper can down you with an unlucky trap.

This. Trapper makes me so paranoid. Even a potato trapper can screw you over.

  • @SunderMun said:

They just need to make it so Stridor doesn't stop her only counter from being a thing OR they could make her actually skillful and make it so wearing a headset doesn't mean you auto-win a chase.

It doesn't. I use a Bose headset and i have a hard time tracking with her.

Really sorry to hear that. I'm just hoping that they make some changes to the whole system, but I kinda doubt that will make it any better. I really don't understand what makes it so hard for them to find people my rank. Anyways stick with it, this game is too fun to quit over matchmaking. Or you could switch to survivor. It seems to be better for them from what I've heard so far.

Survivor is the opposite. I absolutely crush every killer I come up against, which isn't fun. For a game to be fun, you need an appropriate challenge to your skill level. Killer is too hard due to bad balance and survivor is too easy for the same reason.

It feels like the matchmaking has been worse for way longer honestly. But then againi mainly play killer so i dont know. Ive had the game since april of last year but got into it when stranger things got announced.

I've had it for two years, but got back in after stranger things. Matchmaking wasn't that bad in October and November.

As a green ranks killer I just played 6 games in a row with all red rank survivors. Lately it's been terrible for me, but I wanna know if it's been that bad or even worse for you guys. Please let me know.

Currently rank 8. 80% of matches are rank 1-4. Haven't seen a non smurf account under 1k hours in about 30 matches. It's to the point that I'm about to quit the game. Just no fun seeing the same 6 perks every match and seeing the same tactic of loop the pallets, then run to one that's just barely in reach.

  • @jiguiri said:

Every damn game i play i get matches up agaisnt red ranks. Yes i know im purple ranka but ita not the same. A 100 hour killer agaisnt 1000 hour survivors. That isnt fair. And everygame i either give up or dc. At this point i dont even know why i play of the dc penalty is just gonna keep stacking and the game isnt gonna fix matchmaking

I feel you. I've moved on to being toxic or being silly. Face camping, ebony mori off first hook, tunneling. Or pig and go boop farming. Pips don't matter any more, since you face red ranks from rank 20 right on down.

    @EmpireWinner said:

Disconnecting wont get you anywhere, maybe record your games and see what you're doing wrong.

It's not him doing wrong. You can't expect a 100 hour killer to go up against 1k hour survivors. I swear I don't know how this game has any player base with how poorly the game is made. This crap has been broken for 6 months and NOTHING out of bhvr. Matchmaking should have been fixed in two weeks.

I literally only know the name of the game, and am not a younger gamer. If it's not something that is well known in the entire genre of horror, I don't see how it'd be considered iconic. Maybe it was a great game, but that doesn't mean most of the world knows about it, which would mean that it would mean very little to most people if it were to be introduced as a killer.

Silent hill 2 was a bad game. The controls are horrible, the film grain is annoying, the voice acting is terrible, and the characters are over the top. What made it iconic is pyramid head and the environment.

  • @SeeYoureWrong said:

So I was playing Nurse and the way I play her, I either completely dominate the entire game or I end up getting most of my hooks at the end and at least one kill because im camping for the last kill. So I loaded into a game where it instantly went wrong horribly. Easy first down, but I got flashlighted (I saw the lights, brought in Franklins, still saw the Steve with the light when I picked up, I'm blind) and I kind of ended up not getting a down until 2 gens done and a hook literally 3 seconds later with both gens finished. Now this is just the community (from reddit at least) speaking, but a lot of people agree its ok to camp if the game hasn't been going great and no kills. So I camped Jake. Downed Yui, Jake died, so on and so on until Steve left with nothing and David died. The way they played I ended up getting a 3k (camping when at least 1 survivor was constantly around me, even more justified). Now I want to clarify I play on Xbox, where you go out of your way to call other players #########/be a decent person. And I kid you not, not 1, not 2, not even 3, but all 4 messaged me calling me a camper. I just replied casually because I wanted to get into a next game. Coldwind farm as Nurse. Same exact scenario, I didn't get a hook until last gen popped, but Kate was in the basement. Basically nobody left, I played completely fair (camping when someone's around) and yet I still get called a camper.

And so I just want to kind of know, why is there so much salt in this game, compared to Friday or any assymetrical game? Also any stories for stupid salt because im bored?

Easy answer, survivors expect a 4 man escape every game, because they've gotten used to it. When you don't play according to their rules, which all but guarantee a 4 man escape, they get salty.

Play how you want to play and ignore them.

Look I LOVE Silent Hill, but even @SpaceCoconut made a good point.

What good would it be to a player using a sword like leatherface’s chainsaw at an abysmally slow pace?

Pyramid Head only managed to be as terrifying as it was due to the fairly confined spaces James encounters it.

Here's how you make him terrifying. Zero terror radius, only thing you hear is the scraping of his great knife getting closer to you. M2 creates a 32m fog, similar to clowns gas. Pyramid head gets faster by 10% and can see the the aura of anyone trapped in the fog. Ultra rare add on slows him by 5%, but makes his knife an Insta down in the fog.
