What about a survivor perk that opens a hatch to escape if survs do a gen? It’s something survs need to earn
Something like that already exists. They're called keys.
-
I don't understand why people want pain resonance nerfed. Like Pop it's something the killer has to earn by getting hooks.
It's a fair perk in my opinion.
-
Dead hard and NOED.
-
I doubt the Halloween movie people would allow him to be sexualised like that.
-
Nope. It just enforced it.
-
I like it a lot too. I think I prefer it to the current one.
-
I main Mikey and he has just the hospital gown cosmetic. But I love it.
Besides I see it waiting in lobby, when I load into a match, and at the end game screen. Plus there's the knowledge of knowing how you look to the survivors that feels good to me.
I have a couple of cosmetics for Clown too. Any other killer cosmetics I have were acquired from the rifts or through playing events. I only buy the rifts if there's something for Dweet on them.
-
I play Mikey who's an insta down killer so I don't really care about COH boons.
-
The shake up to the meta perks. I hope it turns out for the best.
-
It is a beautiful piece.

I actually kind of loved how there's only 12 characters this time, makes grinding for the loot less tedious (Gonna be real with you, I don't want to grab a pedestal cosmetic with characters I don't use but too scared to ignore their items in case I do want to use them, 20+ times in a single month. Hated the fifth year crowns for that.), and the cosmetics this time actually look really cool.

I love how Ace has one, out of every character in DBD he makes the most sense to be at a Masquerade and it looks aesthetically pleasing. In fact I like all of them (except maybe Trappers, although I think it's more "in comparison to the other masks" than me actually disliking Trappers). I hope we get more Anniversary events like this, a unique story with multiple DBD characters and aesthetically pleasing head gear on them, even if Ace and Yui don't get in next Anniversary I'd rather that than another unpleasant crown on everyone.
I can't make out the names of the second and fifth survivor ones. I see Ace, Dwight, Jane, and Yui.

No but for me if I'm going to stare at an in game model for my entire play session i want something pleasing. No I don't play Kate.
Pleasing is in the eye of the beholder. Nea is considered ugly by many yet she's one of the most popular survivors in the game.
-
Dweet got one so all is right in the world.
-
They don't all have to be eye candy you know.
-
Good riddance.
-
Is it true that Dweet is getting the Eren cosmetic?
-
I can already hear the champagne corks popping everywhere from all killer players if they did announce it.
It does need changing. Its the biggest get out of jail free card in the game.
-
Emergency buff. Since when has it become a critical situation?
-
I'd like to see my boy Mikey get some love.
-
I definitely agree with Billy and Freddy. I still to this day don't know why they changed Billy. A killer nobody complained about and considered one of the most balanced and fun killers to play and go against. Yet they will go years ignoring thousands of complaints about killers with legit issues.
It boggles the mind.
-
Pretty sure its a visual glitch.
-
Haddonfield is fine. I think they did a good job.
RPD, Cowshed, Rotten Fields, Ironworks, Groaning storehouse, Shelter Woods, Mother's Dwelling.....all these maps have serious balance issues and need reworking not removing.
-
"We have big news regarding our first ever licensed chapter that helped put our game on the map. We plan to update Myers power as well as give him a visual update. We are also going to have a Halloween based tome and new cosmetics for both Myers and Laurie"
That's all I want.
-
Ditto. I was Mikey and it didn't count.
-
The Human Centipede wasn't a killer though. The crazy Doctor who made it was.
-

I think it's great. Feels much better to play with as killer. (Near and Chase is new)
Vast improvement.

Try playing on console. We've been suffering that since the Resident Evil chapter.

Well thank you, first language is German by the way.
I really love it when you can have a nice discussion here without rage or throwing strawman arguments around you know.
To be fair i have a certain view on these things because I have to feel it daily but you are a nice discussion partner.
I think the thing I like the most that David is the first gay guy is that you can't play spot the gay and it's the fairy looking guy :D so to get back on the rails I think death slinger could work and break that manly cowboy headhunter image but to be honest I didn't looked up his lore that's something I need to do for a couple of characters
Oh nice. My father was from Germany. Frankfurt to be exact.
You've been a pleasure to chat to. Thank you.

You : Nobody is making assumptions based on how he's dressed.
Also You : Maybe he's gay, because of how he's dressed.
Discussing possibilities/maybes is not making assumptions. If you assume something then you think its true. The person who's first language is German has a better grasp of the English language than you do.

The thing is… it is already insensitive to speculate on a persons sexuality based on their clothing/fashion choice. And especially in Tricksters case who is a KPop star. Of course it seems silly if you only think about the Trickster as he is a fictional character and doesn’t have feelings. But you are kinda making assumptions/speculations on real people who dress similar as well.
instead of basing the sexuality on their choice of clothes maybe use their actual backstory/relationships or say what sexuality you would like them to have to make a good representation and not just to conform to stereotypes present.
Trickster may be gay or not. We don’t know that. We do know that he isn’t gay just because he is a flamboyant KPop star.
But we don't know any of Trickster's personal relationships. Not that they can define anything either as we were told David had a girlfriend and now he's gay.
And once again nobody is making any assumptions based on his clothing. Nobody. If you can find one post in here where someone assumes he must be gay because of how he dresses then I'll concede to your point. All anyone has done is speculate as a possibility. In a thread that's asking us to look at the killers and think about who could be gay. It would be stupid to deny that many gay people dress flamboyantly like that as a way of self expression. Its not insensitive, or bad, or homophobic or anything like that to think that Trickster's dress sense makes him a possibility since we're already being asked to look at the possibilities for who could be gay. Nobody is treating it as an absolute sign or indicator. Just a maybe.
Anyway that's my last post on this. I can't keep repeating the same points. Its just a going in circles discussion at this stage.

I am not calling you out on this as you really seem to not do this with malicious intend at all.
but just suspecting someone’s sexuality based on their clothes can actually be homophobic and make it uncomfortable for the person being suspected. I think I can’t explain it very good but… just words or looks based on such a suspicion can hurt and it’s pretty much falsely generalizing even if it might be true in many cases.
I can't wrap my head around suspecting someone's sexuality based on dress sense being homophobic unless said person was doing it in a derogatory way because that's what homophobia is. A dislike of gay people.
Words and looks hurting someone I can understand if it's harsh or insensitive words or some kind of nasty or mocking look. But here I don't think anyone has used any harsh words. Unless I have missed an insensitive post somewhere.
If someone was just naturally offended by someone making a judgement based on their dress sense I can understand that too. But again nobody here is doing that. Nobody has judged Trickster as gay. We're just speculating. This whole thread is speculation. Only an ignorant person defines people based on appearance alone.

I don't want to say every one that thinks someone else is gay because he isn't rocking a traditional manly fit I think we should just get rid of these pictures in our heads if you know what I mean. So you can look and wear what ever you like and people don't assume you to be anything. I know that this is normal I just thing it would hurt to abandon it.
To be fair I may stretched that topic over only talking about just Trickster. I basicly meant you Shoulnd think about what sexuality someone has on how he looks if it in the end doesn't matter to you because you woulnd engage with them either way.
Sorry English isn't my fist language I may struggle to make clear what I want to say
I understand where you're coming from and I appreciate you being respectful and level headed about it.
I get what you mean now regarding the engaging with someone comment. I don't disagree with you.
This is where there was crossed wires. This is a speculation thread. Not a defining who is gay thread. A few of us mentioned Trickster as a possibility, emphasis on possibility, because of his dress sense. Nobody is looking at him and saying that's a gay man. But suddenly words like homophobic and evil were thrown for no reason.
Btw I'd never guess English isn't your first language. It's excellent.

Isn’t it a predjudice if you assume someone is gay just based on what clothes they were etc?
i mean, it obviously isn’t on the same level as direct hatred or aversion but still..
Yes it is. But I am not assuming he's gay. I said suspect he might be. I'm not definitively labeling him in my mind as gay because of it.
I haven't seen anyone here do that.

My own biases? I'm gay.
Homophobic means more than going "grrr I hate them gays, arg". You're reducing people to a stereotype based on appearance. "Gay people dress like X, Straight people dress like Y". That's bad. "Look at how that dude dresses, he's totally gay"
Also like, Ji Woon Hak is South Korean. I guess you're not familiar with the K-pop J-pop scene but I've seen enough of it from friends to know that flamboyance comes with the industry regardless. So its also a touch of cultural ignorance.
I'm talking about your own biases against people just because they think someone might be gay based on dress sense means they are automatically homophobic. That's stupid and illogical. I can only assume you're used to seeing people hate on gays for that kind of dress sense.
I am well aware of the K-pop scene too. Even if I had not been you'd have to be living under a rock not to come to know about it after the million and one accusations thrown at Bhvr for trying to appease the K-pop fans when Trickster was released.

Not make up but jewelry and colorfull stuff even "woman" cloth.
Like I said you are not a bad for thinking that because it is a picture that got painted for a long time and it is a wrong picture atleast in my mind. We need to stop putting preconceived labels on people for how the look and what they wear. Best way is to don't think about the sexuality of anyone if you don't want to engage with them
Well at least you're more level headed about discussing this.
You say you wear jewelry and women's clothing. Fair enough. But it wouldn't make anyone a bad person or homophobic if they saw that and thought maybe you were gay. If they thought anything derogatory about you for it then it would.
Nobody is putting any pre conceived labels. It's speculation on possibilities. I am not saying in my mind Trickster is definitely gay because of how he dresses.
I'm not sure what you mean by don't think about sexuality if you don't want to engage with them. We're talking about fictional characters here. We're never going to engage with them.

Thinking that it's "only natural to assume" someone "like" Trickster is gay, is reducing them to your perceived stereotypes of "what gay is". That's basing your assumptions on stereotypes and cliches, and thinking that this is what gay people are like because of it, is reductively homophobic.
First off I never said it was natural to assume. Second to suspect based on dress sense doesn't make it homophobic. Homophobic means you have a prejudice or dislike against gay people.
What kind of backward logic you are using to connect a suspicion based on dress sense to disliking gay people I don't know. If anything you're just projecting your own biases here.

I am honestly a bit shocked that people instaly look at Trickster when talking about a gay killer.
Can't a man be flamboyant and like to wear what he likes and be straight? I mean if not I need to have an unpleasant conversation with my wife.
Not to attack you but the fact that the flamboyant guy came up in your minds when talking about gay people is a testament on how stuck some preconceptions and clichés are. Not to say you guys are some evil homophobs or anything
Define flamboyant. Are you wearing the kind of colorful clothing Trickster does along with make up, jewelry etc?
It's not a cliché to think someone who dresses like that is a more likely candidate. Nor is it evil or homophobic. To suspect someone is gay because of their dress sense doesn't mean you are anti gay or a bad person.

I had a Spirit bot last night. Match was over in a minute.
-
I would if I constantly got tunneled but I don't. So it would be a waste of a perk slot for me.
If games ever get to the point where I am then I'll run it.
-
Really? More so than Trickster?
-
Its just a visual bug. The exposed icon stays even after he tiers down. But he doesn't actually still have the ability to insta down survivors.
-
I'm on console and I don't think its too dark. Maybe you need to adjust your brightness settings a little?
-
All the people I swf with are people whom I met playing with in solo queue believe it or not. When you find good team mates in solo its like finding gold.

well if you slow down the game on one killer USING 3 SLOW DOWN PERKS you really shouldn't be complaining about Legion mending slowing the game down.
Perks like Pop, Pain Resonance, ruin, undying, etc add way more than 20 seconds to a game. Pop probably makes games longer than legion mending imo. As I said, you guys wont complain about having to hold m1 to repair that gen that just got 25+15% instant regression now you gotta repair it for 20+ seconds again to make up for it ;)
You can also slow the game down by constantly slugging like the Twins do. Not surprisingly the slugging meta by Twins is very much hated too. Because its tedious getting constantly slugged. Just like Legion's mending.
Matches being prolonged by gen regression is night and day compared to constantly having to stop everything they are doing to mend. Not to mention perks like Pop and Scourge hook can only regress a gen so many times in a match because a killer can only get so many hooks. Contrast to Legion they can frenzy double, triple the number of hooks a killer can get. Ruin and undying is no hindrance given that totem spots are predominately awful. I can't remember the last time I saw ruin last longer than two minutes in a match.

I know this may be difficult for you to think past the us vs them, but the game is literally designed so that if killers slow it down it goes in their favor, which is why so many killer perks slow the game down. The devs design the game this way because everyone knows gens fly and ofg course survs want fast games and escape, however, it is the killers job to prolong the fight so they win. Game is designed so once resources are gone, killer can win.
I know those of you who never play killer to red grade monthly cant grasp these things because you only see it one way, but the game is designed for killer slowdown.
Drop the condescending attitude. I am not thinking in us vs them at all. The question this thread asks is why do survivors dislike going against Legion. You suggested its because they go against the healing meta. I don't think it has anything to do with that given Plague is much better at that and not getting any real flak for it.
Nothing to do with killers bringing slowdown. I main Myers and I run three gen slowdown perks. Its simply that Legion's constant mending is tedious. Plain and simple. There's no us vs them mentality in what I'm saying.

If you are mending over and over and over, that Legion is memeing and going for instadowns. Probably survivor main in disguise. I always escape against those scrubs
Any true Legion is gonna deepwound you maybe 4 times. I dont play that run around entire map crap.
I often hit someone, they start mending in my face, I cancel and down them, so you not even gonna mend bro, you going on hook.
Dont worry the survivor mains playing legion right now playing that way will go back to Meg soon. Then youre left with those of us who actually know how to play Legion
Most Legions constantly frenzy hit to get location info and knock people off gens. Being forced to mend is a time waster. The instadown is a gimmick that only works on potatoes. Don't think I've seen any complaints against that. Just like mending in Legion's face is what bad survivors do. You're asking to be downed.
Legion is still a bad killer. I don't think this update changed anything significant about them. They just amplified the tedious aspects of the character. That's why survivors aren't enjoying them. Not the healing meta. Not that they're OP in any way. Just tedious. A Legion match can feel so much longer than your average one. Not in a good way.

You can refuse to give Plague her power, not so with Legion, his power counters the 4v1 and it throws people off.
You guys simply pick and choose what you dont feel like doing. Self care? 32 seconds, ah youll do that 10 times per match, after running across entire map to get to a boon location that took you 20 seconds to run,....but mending is too much.
You can't deny a Plague her power. She gets at least one corrupt pool by default. Two or three if she decides to bring the apple add ons. But that's not the point. You said it was about the healing meta. What's the difference to being sick or being frenzy hit? Injured is injured. With a Legion you can still heal. Plague's infection doesn't allow healing and can punish cleansing.
Who says they enjoy constant self caring? You don't heal nearly as much as you need to mend in a Legion match. Most competent survivors don't even care about being injured. They have their dead hard and iron will usually. But having to constantly stop and mend is about as much fun as watching paint dry.
-
@DrDeepwound said:
It really boils down to one thing.
Legion goes against the healing meta. CoH boons mean nothing in a Legion match, they are used to the same game over and over. Shift W, get hit, Shift w to boon and heal. Repeat. They simply cannot play against Legion playstyle.
I don't think it's got anything to do with that. Plague counters the healing meta far more effectively than Legion does but you don't see nearly as many complaints against her.
It's the constant tedious mending that makes Legion matches such a chore.
-
I still see team mates in solo queue crouching behind walls and rocks when a Legion is on a chain frenzy like they don't know they're hiding there.
