Dead Hard getting shot was the best decision the devs have ever made
-
Probably because Oni isn't overpowered, given that he has probably the 3rd worst early-game of the entire roster, with only Trapper and Hag having slower starts
He loses to predropping extremely hard due to his ######### early-game, healing being extremely quick nowadays with perks like Reactive Healing, Strength in Shadows, and Resurgence makes him even weaker, and his power, while strong, has a limited duration before he has go to back to vacuuming blood
He's still good despite that, but overpowered? Absolutely not
-
I'd recommend Reactive Healing instead
Getting 75% healing from one teammate plus about 225 survival points for free is pretty nice

I mean, she is still not fun to play against, so...
Almost as if the nerfs removed the only interesting part about her (her trap playstyle) and just boiled down her kit to “Worse Clown that has to put in double the effort for a third of the reward” or something
Who could have POSSIBLY seen the result of that coming /s
-
Given the recent track record of Reworks, I only have one word for how I think the Freddy rework will go, and that word is "Badly". I wish I could be more optimistic but after watching Trickster, Twins, and SM get completely steamrolled during their reworks I simply do not have any faith in Freddy getting his dues
Now, if BHVR manages to surprise me and either give him a Knight-style touch up or, even better, a Doctor-style upgrade that makes him both fun and interesting, I am entirely happy to say I was wrong, but until it actually arrives, I'm remaining cynical, as much as it sucks to be so
-
Game has been having Desync problems on both sides since the mid-chapter, so while the survivor might look close to you on your end, on their end they're miles away, leading to you either getting hits you shouldn't or not getting hits you should
-
- Anon Mode was a mistake and is almost entirely pointless since you can either just private your Steam account or ignore people's messages
- Lerys and Hawkins are good maps and we should have more maps like them
- The community by and large has no idea what it's talking about, and BHVR make the right call when they don't listen to us more often then not
-
The only reason I need to prefer hooking over slugging is that hooking gives me more points, and I have characters I like playing to get to P100
-
Probably the most unfortunate part of all of this is that we’re inevitably going to be back in this position whenever SM 3.0 releases, because then she might a slim chance of being playable again and the player-base that somehow still believes that Chess Merchant exists will hookicide or instantly DC, go to Twitter, write a essay on why SM should be nerfed, and the mass whining will get her dumpstered again
We wouldn’t be here if BHVR didn’t fumble her launch harder then Blizzard fumbled Overwatch 2, but unfortunately that’s the cycle we’re in
-
I am so sorry for you

@Eleghost said:
I mean she's going to be extremely useless after these changes, you probably won't see anyone playing skull merchant. She's a zoning killer with chase pressure. It's not super different than trapper or hag trapping a loop or something to counter it.
She's not even going to be like Trapper or Hag anymore when the patch releases, because they're killing the trap playstyle stone-dead
Now she just plays like worse Clown
-
Believing that MMR exists in any capacity is already Copium
-
Oh no, a obvious glitch on a killer that is still going to be pretty good when it's gone is getting removed, however will we manage
/s
-
Trickster
Love his look, like his lore, love the Jojo reference that is his power
The nerfs he got in his most recent touch up that made his power almost useless at 90% of loops and just made him a 115% Man with Baseball Bat make me depressed
-
Imagine being so sensitive to video game griefing that you think reporting game chats to the ######### FBI is a reasonable position to have
If people are being dicks, you walk away, you do not engage with it, just make a report and leaveThis game has let people be various varieties of pricks to each other for years, if that’s not something you can handle at this point in the game’s life, then leave, nothing is keep you here
-
Step 1. Set down a Portal
Step 2. Go to the Upside Down
Step 3. Have a napStep 4. Never leave, because living in a extradimensional hellscape is infinitely more preferable then living on Earth in the 21st century

In a stealth game where your ability to hide in shadows can make the difference between winning or losing? Crazy.
DBD stopped being a stealth game when people realised how effective looping was
Try actually playing the game and learning how to use resources and play tiles instead of crouching in a bush in a corner the entire match, it ain't that hard
-
Just leaving this here
-
I do find it funny that BHVR added a gen kick limit specifically to counter 3-genning, and then proceeds to shrink maps and forcing generators to spawn within eyeshot of each other, making 3-gen strats even easier
Seriously it does genuinely feel like 3-gens just happen with minimal input or set up from the killer just because of how gens spawn on most maps nowadays
-
Society of Villains would be pretty cool
-
We win these
-
Lemme guess, you lost to a SWF and decided to whine on the forums instead of just stepping away from the game and touching grass?
-
I think adding a extra 5 would be a good idea, and running under the assumption that this would mean going in release order and with Licensed killers the next 5 would be Myers, Hag, Doc, Bubba, and Freddy
The main question is what buffs would 2v8 give to them, Hag is pretty obvious (Faster trap placement, Haste after placing a trap, basically just copy-pasting Trapper's buffs) but how would BHVR bump up Myers to be functional in 2v8?
-
The DBD Community is already full of whiny children, adding FNAF will change literally nothing
-
If the game wasn’t fun, I wouldn’t play it
-
Him First
-
You mean used his money in ways he saw fit after donating significantly more to multiple pro-lgbt charities, and then proceeding to get doxxed and have his family threatened by crazy people over it?
Ah yes, truly a awful thing, how dare he, clearly the guy who is very clearly not anti-lgbt if you have looked at his history of donations is the bad guy, uh huh, definitely
-
MMR doesn’t exist, it is a slot machine designed to gaslight the playerbase into thinking they suck and making themselves miserable by trying to win in a game where there is literally zero incentive to do so
-
MMR doesn't exist, Treat it like this and don't sweat for wins and you will be far, far happier
-
Personally, I hope they kill Distortion, one less tool in the worst, most selfish playstyle of hiding in a bush and waiting for hatch
-
So you'd make her even more obnoxious then her release version during the 3-gen era, then overnerf her to the point of irrelevancy, then give her minor, completely insignificant buffs that will change nothing, and then leave her to rot for god knows how long?
How about we just don't touch her at all, let the Twitter tantrum-throwers mald about her continued existence, and put the resources SM would hog up into a killer that actually needs it, yeah?

The difference between TF2 and DBD is the motor engine, since the one from TF2 are always the same as the beginning, DBD got each time on a new "version" of the engine (unreal engine)
That's why people are now very upset, they upgrade to UE5, but the bug are worse than before, they don't change the code, it seems a copy paste on the new engine and call it a day
I'm super sure that, if behavior, stop for six or seven month to make new character in the game, just for patching and correcting all the bug and clean up the spaghetti code, everyone gonna be happy with thatThe game hopping engines from UE4 to Ue5 was a miracle in and of itself, quite frankly I was surprised the game wasn't buggier and how quickly BHVR dealt with all the actually serious problems
BHVR can also not simply take a few months off from making a character to fix the code, because then everyone would have a fit and whine about no new content however good of a reason they might have
-
I would rather they scrap the idea of reworking her again entirely and dedicate the time and resources that would take to reworking a killer that actually needs it
You are not washing out the stink of SM's release version without completely removing everything about her and replacing it with something else entirely
-
DBD suffers from the TF2 problem of being built on spaghetti code and going on for so goddamn long that untangling all of the spaghetti would genuinely take years
We absolutely should deserve better, but expecting patches to not have bugs at this point in DBD's lifespan is a fool's dream
-
Provided that they look cool and make some degree of sense, I probably would
-
Because punishing people for playing with their friends is about as intelligent as trusting a Crypto project to not be a rug pull

Pull a Haddonfield and killswitch it until it is reworked?
God I wish
-
I've been playing a ton of Knight now that the rework's on live servers and honestly, I'm not seeing it, the only way these changes are a nerf is if you played Knight in the most brainless way possible and dumped a guard at every pallet
Carni breaks pallets instantly, letting you bulldoze through small loops and saving yourself some time outside of chase
Assassin can be used to pincer survivors inside of loops or keep pressure on them if you can predict where they're running to, hell I have been able to get Assassin hits even when the survivor uses Sprint Burst thanks to the increased duration
And Jailor keeps survivors busy for several eternities, AND can still be used in chase thanks to his much longer hunt duration
Knight has not been nerfed, Knight has been buffed, the only way you could see the much better Hunts as a nerf is if you were a meathead and dumped a Guard at every pallet for free zoning, use your brain and he'll be much, much more effective

Distortion needs to be strong enough to counter the best killers running full aura builds. If it's not viable against a Nurse running aura reading then what's the point in the perk?
Rule 1 of discussing DBD Balance, pretend Nurse does not exist
Nurse does not play DBD, she plays Nurse Simulator, Nurse Simulator is not DBD, and has absolutely zero baring on how DBD should be balanced
-
SWF does not magically break the game, you were going to get your ass handed to you regardless

I am having a terrible time with him. I used to only use him if I had a Daily Ritual for him but I leveled him up and got a lot of cakes on him.
First question: Why do people say he's good to farm bloodpoints with? I get no score event unless I use the static blast, the regular blast doesn't give points.
Also, I can't hit people! Does he have a small lunge or something? I'm used to playing Freddy, Myers, Trapper and Wraith and have no problem with their basic attack. I miss so much with The Doctor, it is embarrassing 😳
He is categorized as "Hard" on difficulty.
Any tips on builds? A
To answer your first question, Doctor is considered a good BP farmer because he can very quickly max out Deviousness, as he gets Deviousness points for hitting people with Static Blast, Madness level ups, and gets a BP bonus if he m1s a survivor after hitting them with Shock Therapy, letting him get max Deviousness very easily, usually even faster then Legion
To answer the second question, Doctor's lunge is the exact same as everyone else's, his weapon swing animation just might be throwing you off a little bit
For build, I recommend this
Infectious Fright, Distressing, Surge, and Whispers, Static Blast works off of your Terror Radius, and Distressing increases Doc's TR from 32 metres to roughly 40, this combines with Infectious, allowing you to see people from incredibly far away, Whispers allows you to effectively play Doctor on Autopilot, as when a Survivor enters a 32 metre radius around you, the perk lights up, so, once you see the perk light up, you charge Static Blast and are basically guaranteed to get at least one person, Surge is what I typically run for slowdown on M1 killers but you can swap it out for Pop or Pain Res if you prefer
As for general advice, Learn to time Shock Therapy so that it hits survivors right before they can animation lock a vault, Shock Therapy affects a survivor half a second after they've entered its area of effect and prevents them from vaulting for 2 seconds, usually this is enough time to get around a pallet or window and hit them, if you time this correctly you can get a hit at any pallet or window in the game
Watch Some basic Doctor clips/useful tips and millions of other Dead By Daylight videos on Medal, the largest Game Clip Platform. Here's a few basic clips showing general Doctor gameplay and some useful tricks that I took myself a few minutes ago, it should give you a general idea on how to make Doctor work
-
Unless BHVR is committed to fully reworking everything about Skull Merchant, a rework is pointless, They will never be able to get the stink of her release out unless they erase everything that makes her her
As far as I'm concerned, dedicating more time and energy to changing SM again is wasted
-
Try not bringing a item, congratulations, you have just wasted 50% of the killer's total perk slots by doing literally nothing
-
My assumption is that people who like Boil Over are whining that they cannot abuse bad hook RNG as easily anymore
Aside from that, I can't think of a good reason to complain, this is a universally good change
-

It's the same problem as 4k slugging to a bleed-out.
It's called holding the game hostage, and it's reportable (not that that does anything worthwhile). If there's more than one survivor left and neither is trying to win, it's not simply playing the game as intended. The goal is escape, not making the killer DC from boredom, or waiting for the other person to get killed first.Slugging for the 4k ends the match in 5 minutes
Hiding in a corner and using a item to avoid AFK crows can force a match to go on until the server shuts the match downThey are not the same thing
-
I think it's less so Blight himself that's the issue and more so the people who play him
The "Sweaty Quad Slowdown P100 TTV Winstreak farmer" stereotype exists for a reason
-
@BurnedTerrormisu said:
I think this is to oppressive in lower mmr.
Well good thing then that MMR doesn't exist and has basically zero actual factor on game balance
-
I plan on getting Demo to P100 or at least close to it
-
@VomitMommy said:
I don't understand what is the issue with it...
You can find in first second on match, then just put your item in corner. You just traded your item for killer's two perks, I take it...
Alternatively you just don't bring a item at all, wasting 2 killer perks for completely free
-
Oh no, how awful, killers have a new combo that isn't a combination of slowdown perks, this is terrible, clearly the combo that gets countered by you not bringing a item needs to be nerfed
