Yes, MMR is a lie
Yes, the Devs have gaslit the player base into think it exists
Yes, Matchmaking is dictated by RNG -
Honestly I think hits in general have been getting progressively less sensical for the last couple of months
For every time I’ve gotten a hit through a window the survivor was already far away from, I’ve had the auto-aim move my swings into walls, my lunges getting eaten, or a hit just straight up misses the survivor right in front of me
-
Honestly? If this is what it takes to show BHVR how much of a problem slugging is, then I’ll happily pull out the Slugging Singularity build and bleed people out right along with him
If it takes a ton of people abusing this ######### to get it nerfed, then by God will I help get it nerfed
-
This isn't holding the game hostage, but I can understand the frustration, I was on the receiving end of a release SM 3-gen and it was one of the worst experiences ever
However, I don't feel like this should have taken almost 40 minutes with just this strategy, given the gen kick limit if all 3 of you were each pressuring a gen or 2 were pressuring gens and one kept people healed if they got injured I feel like you could have burned through her kicks and slowly chipped away at the gens, this was more a case of survivors both being inexperienced and the result of one ######### quitting a situation that provided a small modicum of challenge more then anything else

God no, Dead Hard was braindead before its very deserved nerf and MFT was proven and demonstrated to be very, very overpowered as well

I think Slenderman could be great for collaboration, but he is in the public domain, so developers probably can't sell him for real money.
Slenderman is just not happening at all
Kinda hard to market a chapter when the attached character can be linked to a high profile IRL attempted murder

if every soloq player bring shoulder of burden, it's same as swf.
This is bait, but I’ll bite
In what universe does a perk designed to let you remove yourself from the game faster equate to voice communication? Because that’s the primary benefit of SWF
-
A part of me is fine with this because killer queue times on the PTB are laughably bad, but on the other hand…I think BHVR is confusing quality for quantity here, I'm sure people are more then happy to wait a extra minute if it means getting a actual good match rather then instantly getting a lobby of bots

Sometimes I ask myself if posts like this are written by ChatGPT just because of how little sense they make

MMR isn’t real, BHVR just gaslit the playerbase into thinking it exists
There is no number that dictates your matchmaking, it’s all down to a roll of the dice and nothing else
-
Because everyone collectively realised that this perk does nothing if the killer isn't hard tunnelling, does almost nothing if the killer is hard tunnelling, and is overall designed to get the person who used it killed 5 minutes sooner then they otherwise would be
-
We're not getting one, the community would have a fit and complain about no new content for however long a health chapter takes
-
A sewer system like the one in Dark Deception would be pretty fun I think
-
Anon Mode has always been used for this, I’m not sure where this idea of it “being used to prevent harassment” came from given that setting your profile to private did the exact same thing but better, because Steam lets you look for people you were matched with previously, completely bypassing the setting with minimal effort, at least on PC
Without fail, every single time someone has been a prick in-game, either through build choice, in-game chat, or in-game actions, they’ve hidden behind Anon Mode, I’ve had Anon’s take me hostage before, I’ve had Anon’s blatantly cheating, I’ve had Anon’s yell slurs at me in post-game chat, and honestly? I’ve just grown used to it and laugh at it now

Having only played on it a couple of times, I'm going to say the map is okay, definitely the least bullshit map they've released in a while

I don't play killer. I faced her many times before and I still do on high MMR playing competitively with my friends. Houndmaster is nothing more but a dud.
Why do you feel the need to express your opinion when you self-evidently have zero idea what you’re talking about?

Shoulder the Burden is a bad perk
Thrill is making the game incredibly one-sided due to how it works with totem builds and screaming interactionsThey are not the same thing
-
Until BHVR decides that fixing Flashbangs being dead silent and being able to blind the killer while they are staring at a wall might be something they should do, I think having a perk to fully counter them is perfectly fine
Seriously Flashbangs have been bugged for like the last 6 months, why haven’t they been fixed yet

none does StB if you know not to unhook in front of the killer and know how to chase :D
Seeing as you're not going to change your mind on this objectively terrible perk, let me put it to you in the most simple of terms
Shoulder The Burden costs you hook state to activate, not a health state, a HOOK state, those things that you only get 2 of before you die
In the absolute best case scenario, you activate this perk on a teammate, and both of you live
Worst case scenario you activate the perk, die because of the Exposed, and then your teammate dies less then a minute later anyway because they're bad at the game
In the majority of cases, you activate the perk, and then the killer either now chases you because you've given up a hook state to save someone else, the person you saved dies 3 minutes later anyway leaving you a hook state closer to death, or absolutely nothing of note happens because the killer wasn't going to try and force the person you saved to second-stage anyway, meaning you accomplished absolutely nothing but getting yourself closer to death just to keep someone in the game for a little bit longer
And this is of course not going into how this perk can be used to grief lobbies, such as letting someone kill themselves on hook sooner, or saving someone who wants to go next and then watching as they run to the killer and let themselves get downed anyway, leaving you with nothing.
This perk is #########, it is not some new meta-defining godsend, it's just bad and will be forgotten about in less then a month.

so...Reassurance, DS, OTR, Deliverance and Wicked are also bad by this logic?
None of those perks listed actively get you killed sooner if you try and use them

this ain't a magical hypothetical scenario at all lol.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3850985#Comment_3850985
are we really going over another scenario of complete lack of awareness for true perk potential?
We already saw it with lack of awareness for aggressive usage of anti-tunneling perks thinking they are only good against tunneling, we already saw it with lack of awareness for hook greeding thinking it's only good when killer is camping. Can we please once see someone actually realize value of perks instead having a 99% narrowed viewpoint for them?
I have seen the perk used, I have tried to get value out of this perk, it has done absolutely nothing of notice beyond getting somebody killed sooner then they otherwise would have
This perk is not good unless the killer is actively letting survivors get value from it
-
If you're going out of your way to try and tunnel someone out at 5 gens, then sure, Shoulder the Burden is going to be punishing to play against, If you're a normal person that plays the game normally and not like your family is being held at gunpoint, then the perk will do almost nothing of note
-
You are the one queueing into a multiplayer game that pairs you with four other people, if you are playing survivor 3 of those people are your teammates, the key word here being TEAM
If you're going to be a baby and leave the second the match doesn't go your way, either DC, play killer, or play a different game, don't ruin the match for everybody else just because you don't feel like seeing it through.

tbh I just want the dog to not drag the caught survivor away from me...
Also that, completely forgot to mention that
Snug should drag survs to where HM is, not where she was when he grabbed her, that alone would fix a lot of her jank I feel -
Only time I think giving up is acceptable is when someone else already has, at that point the match is already over and there is pretty much no reason to stick around
If I catch someone trying to Hookicide, especially when they are in a situation that is in their favour (Map offerings, gens-to-hook states ratio is in their favour, etc.) I will make it a point to keep them in the match for as long as possible through all non-hostage taking means including slugging, ignoring them in chase, keeping them on my shoulder for as long as possible, etc.
If I can't do that, I try to kill the other 3 off quickly and let them move on to a hopefully better match
-
I mean if your intention is to get yourself killed quicker for a teammate who will inevitably waste the extra hook state, then sure, it's pretty strong. In actual matches, I've gotten actual "value" out of it exactly once and have seen it actually used a grand total of 3 times in the last 2 days
My greatest concern with Shoulder the Burden is honestly the potential it has to make Hookiciding easier, since someone who wants to give up will just sit around and wait for someone to get hooked, Shoulder the Burden them, run to the killer, go down instantly, and give up on hook with no chance of a 4% ruining their plans to make the match worse for everyone.
This perk is not nearly as powerful as people believe it is
-
This is my list
-
MMR isn't real, your matchmaking is affected purely by RNG
-
I'll be fine with them adding more voicelines so long as they also add a option to turn them off
-
How about we start by stopping with calling "Crouch Tech" a tech, it is just pressing the crouch button, that is it, it is not a tech, it is not a exploit, it is a basic game mechanic, nothing more, nothing less.
Putting that aside, this "Tech" isn't some issue with the crouch mechanic itself so much as it is a problem with killer power hitboxes not factoring it in, especially with killers that get camera locked when using their power, hopefully it gets fixed sooner rather then later but given how long it took to patch out looking down to avoid collision (also not a tech btw) I'm not holding my breath
-
Ya'll are aware this is already a thing, right?

”I couldn’t forget it if I wanted to, it happened roughly 2 years ago, Me, Kate, Dwight, and some new girl…Haddie I think her name was, never did catch it, we got dumped in this new place I had never seen before, it looked almost idillic, a small area with one big estate house in the centre. That house felt…off, I’m not really sure how else to describe it, it just felt strange, I went in alone after the other 3 split up, it had everything a normal home for 4 would have, a small living room, dining room, kitchen close to the dining room, and some empty and bare bedrooms, it had some things I recognised as well, a generator in a empty room upstairs, and lockers…the lockers had something attached to them, a lock, something I hadn’t seen up to that point, I didn’t think much of it, so I just ignored it and worked on the generator. As I was doing so, I felt increasingly uneasy, I looked outside the window by the generator and realised why the place felt so off, random objects floated in the air for no reason at all, and the edges of the place weren’t so much a wall, but rather a barrier of concrete, dirt, and brick, as if it had been ripped out of the ground and dumped in this place, looking past the barrier was…nothing, nothing at all, no further parts of the place that were just out of reach, just a empty void…I hadn’t seen anything quite like it in all my time in these realms.”
“My daydreaming was interrupted by the sound of a scream, Dwight had been hooked, by what or who I wasn’t sure, but I knew he needed help, I got off the generator and ran over to him, getting him off the hook, while I was tending to his injuries I asked him what attacked him, the poor guy just mumbled “Monster” over and over again, classic Dwight but decidedly unhelpful.”
“After I patched him up he refused to leave my side, I knew the man was a coward but I had never seen him so shaken before, I was mildly annoyed having to babysit him but it had to be done, we met up with Kate soon after and finished another generator. As soon as the generator activated I felt a loud ringing race across my body, not heard, felt, and before I had time to really process what that was…the sky went black, pitch black, darker then anything I had ever seen, I lost Dwight and Kate in the gloom, and couldn’t find them or hear them even as I shouted for a sign of them, my cries were answered though…not by Dwight, or Kate, or even the other girl, but by that…thing.”
“I don’t know how to describe what I saw, but I will do my best, it wasn’t human, not even humanoid, just a towering pile of skin, gristle, and bones that lurched and writhed through the darkness, human skulls littered its back like a macabre hermit crab, that abomination’s face, if I could even call it that, had a wide open mouth that dominated its centre, and a single piercing eye that stared deep into my soul, what really got to em though was how it sounded…the darkness itself was screaming and crying, a endless cacophony of pained wails filled my ears, as if a entire community of people were being slowly murdered. I wasn’t just terrified, I was completely frozen, I fell to the ground as my legs turned to jelly as the creature approached me, raising a disgusting sickle made of human flesh and bone, I tried to get out of the way of the swing, but it hit me square in the back, pinning me down as human arms stretched out from the mass, hitting me with kitchen knives, screwdrivers, anything and everything that was sharp and pointy, I screamed in pain, my calls stopped by a meaty swing to the back of the head, I laid there, barely conscious as a pair of insect appendages pierced my back and begin dragging me inside the darkness…I could only let out a final scream as the dark overtook me.”
“I woke up by the campfire, as I always did…I don’t know what I saw, what that thing that killed me was…but I can still hear the screams, I can still hear the wails, I can still feel the cold grip of that abomination’s arms embracing me and dragging me into the dark…I never want to see that thing ever again, give me the undead and psychos that stalk these Realms over another second facing that monster any day of the week…”

I can imagine people would like to experience DBD Classic (lets say 2016 to 2019) for like a day, then realise that DBD Classic was absolute #########
Take off the rose-tinted glasses, old DBD was awful and the fact that the game is still alive almost 10 years later considering what it was like on launch is nothing short of a miracle

Probably Legion or Plague, perks that require injured survivors tend to work the best on the two characters that keep the entire team injured at all times
-
Any of these 3 options would make me happy
-
Wasn't her release version so hilariously bad that people had to develop a brand new slug-heavy playstyle just to make her work?
-
I believe in judging it on a case-by-case basis, because judging every single case of hookiciding as the exact same is disingenuous.
Example A. A survivor runs the killer for 5 minutes, their teammates do not touch any gens in that time and instead spend the entire match hiding in bushes, and gives up on hook
Example B. A survivor that brings a map offering gets found and goes down in 20 seconds, then gives up on hook
Both cases end in the same way, with someone dead at 5 gens and a fairly easy match for the killer. Does this mean they should be judged the same though? I don't think so, one is a example of someone not wanting to play with teammates that have demonstrated that they either do not know how to play, or, more likely, are just trolling. Whereas the other is a example of someone being petty and taking their ball and going home, one has justification, the other doesn't.
These aren't the only examples either, one very common reason for hookiciding is when 2 people are left and you want your teammate to have a chance to get hatch, another just being "I don't like the killer", usually SM even after she got gutted, another version of that being "This killer triggers a serious health problem in me" like Plague, Dredge, or Clown, and another is just "I have things to do IRL and had to go AFK immediately with no time to disconnect". Various different reasons with varying amount of justification.
The way I see it, if someone has a genuine reason to go next, I don't care, if they're doing it because they're a bad sport or for a petulant reason, I will make it a point to keep them in the match for as long as possible, the DC button exists for a reason and that is almost always the option people should use.
-
Probably because the stats do not mean anything, and are hilariously bad for determining anything about DBD
-
Given that we've sat thoroughly roughly 3 years worth of people either requesting, demanding, or coping for FNAF to be in DBD, I'd be willing to bet money I don't have on it breaking the player count harder then RE or Project W did
-
This community has been traumatised to the point of believing that obvious glitches and basic game functions are "Techs" and I don't know if I am allowed to laugh
