Competitive modes are usually how games die a slow and painful death
If you want a real-time example, see Team Fortress 2 and how disastrous Meet Your Match went
-
The nerfs barely changed anything and the only thing of real note is that Yamori's Mask is no longer completely busted
He's still top 5 strong, a slightly longer cooldown that only happens when breaking pallets doesn't change the fact that Kaneki has the best mobility in the game, a free first hit, and very fast vaulting speed.
-
They're a band-aid to a problem with a incredibly obvious fix that BHVR seems incredibly adamant on not doing
I'd rather both it and map offerings are removed from the blood web entirely, I want more bloodpoint offerings, not game-changing offerings I will never use out of principle or that someone else can and will use to make the match more favourable for them
-
Reminder of what 2017 DBD was like
Nurse could have 5 blinks, and had no cooldown
Haddonfield was still in its release version
Old Dead Hard was a thing
No basekit BT or anticamp metre so Bubba could just face camp you to death with ######### all you can do about it
Ruin still affected skillchecks and made playing matches with new players more of a nightmare then usual
Survivors could fast vault just by holding shift next to a window
Huntress could have 3 Iri head hatchets at once
Adrenaline affected Freddy’s power
Trapper’s power could still be completely disabled because sabotage still broke traps
Wraith could be completely shut down by flashlights because Lightburn was still a thing
I really do wish people would stop going “DBD was better back in the old days” when the old days were full of busted and unfun bullshit
The game has only ever improved as a whole with age, wanting to go back to a time where the game was less balanced and less polished is ridiculous
-
Played at the average level, Kaneki wins no contest
However, when played at a higher/comp level, I'd say Blight wins

Look at this Yui 🤣🤣 I didn't know they'd improved Urban Evasion.

Jokes aside... they should do something about hackers, they've been showing up too many times lately, And I don't want one of my favorite games to have a plague of these idiots...
How in the hell does someone manage to ######### up a pallet save while cheating lmao

With your logic, survivors should be super happy if a killer camps their first hook, because it means 3 survivors are repairing generators uninterrupted. Because if the killer didn't camp, and found someone else to chase instead, that means less than 3 survivors would be repairing generators.
I’m not really sure why you think that’s a point against the argument, because it’s 100% true, a killer not pressuring gens in favour of trying to secure a hook state means that 3 people can do gens uninterrupted, letting the survivors complete their objective, which is pretty much the entire point of Survivor

The person taking the hit doesn’t even gain the haste effect so just go after the body blocker? Plus NOED exists too, the perk is fine and I also don’t get all the attention towards it.
To be fair, you could run Duty of Care with Overcome and give the killer no real good choice on who to chase, but even then that still means giving up a stronger exhaustion perk for a gimmick
Plus, as you said, NOED just exists, he’ll not even NOED, just run Forced Penance and DoC will do nothing lol
-
Running under the assumption that Cote isn't pulling a Scott Cawthon and making ######### up to mess with the community, Shack or Cowshed would be my first guess
-
Quite honestly? I see the perks being the same as most other perks, being used for like a week and then being swiftly forgotten about when people realise they are either not uber powerful, or every killer under the sun complains about them and gets the perk nerfed
Everyone hyped up Shoulder the Burden, and then it's use rate plummeted off of a cliff, I except history to repeat
-
Go for the guy that's taking the protection hit instead of trying to chase the survivor who has just gotten a speed boost
Contrary to what some might believe you do not need to immediately tunnel people off hook in order to win
-
The few times I've gotten players from Asian servers, they have all pre-dropped every single pallet and just held W, literally zero thought given to actually looping, just hold W to pallet, instantly drop it no matter how far away I am, repeat until all pallets are gone, but then to contrast this they are uber efficient on gens and end the game in like 5 minutes
I've tended to avoiding players from these regions for this reason, the matches are just incredibly boring and I prefer actually playing in the video game instead of holding W with no thought given to using resources efficiently or skilfully
-
At this point I feel like Twins being broken every patch is required for the universe to not spontaneously implode
-
Ghoul puts people in auto deep wound, so everyone runs MFT to counter Ghoul, since MFT's pretty much one of the only ways Kaneki isn't impossible to play against
This naturally leads to people playing the current contender for a spot in the top 3 strongest killers in the game to complain
-
Making the most boring part of Survivor take even longer will not make the game better
-
Content creators aren't ruining the game
People mindlessly taking everything content creators say as Gospel is ruining the game -
Chaos Shuffle should just be a option you can pick in the main game at this point

The Devs don't make bad perks, they make thematic and useful perks.
It's the community and their meta-minded tierlist-pilled need to win E V E R Y game treating this game like it's a competitive Overwatch clone instead of a casual tag game with a competitive but funloving spirit that have decided a perk is good or bad. A perk's utility is decided solely by people who are competitive minded. That's the problem. Even more of an issue: As you get better at the game, you genuinely start to no longer need perks like Bond or WoO or Insidious or Lightborne. You've moved beyond them mostly and only would use them in niche cases or for comfort reasons. You no longer need them. The perks aren't actually bad or useless… you just don't see or need the use they have.

You can definitely make the argument that Haste-Stacking is unfair, because it is, but Made for This and Power of Two straight up cannot work together, and even if they could it’s still 108% compared to 110% or 115%, and many killers have ways of counteracting it, such as Deathslinger, Oni, Billy, Blight, Huntress, Nurse, and Spirit, heck even Trapper has ways of counteracting Haste through good placement of bear traps
Hope and MFT combined though is absolutely not fair since that lets you get 110% speed for free, but that’s the only really unfair combo that doesn’t require a lot of set-up that I can think of, it’s like a lot of things in DBD, annoying, but not uncounterable or even that overpowered, it’s a option people have, either suck it up or run a counter to it

How does a sound make a power more satisfying to use?
Watch some muted gameplay footage and you’ll quickly figure out why
-
Absolutely, BHVR really needs to let go of the idea of Survivors not being able communicate and just let Solos prompt each other more
A simple “I’m going for the unhook, cover me” or “Don’t go for the unhook, killer’s close by” would work wonders

I'm liking all the QoL, but IMO the presentation seems kinda… Sterilized.
Completely agree, the QOL changes are nice but I really don’t see what the point of removing the Archives is, just makes the game feel less special and more like literally any other live-service slop game
-
This is a joke, right?
Like the only reason they changed the perk was so that Slugging builds would get shot, I feel like that was incredibly obvious, but 5% hindered for 5 seconds does virtually nothing lol
-
Flashbangs have been dead silent and can blind around walls while the killer is looking up for over a year after 3 supposed fixes that did precisely nothing
Until those blasted things are actually fixed, Lightborn is never leaving my loadouts
-
The only problems I see with the SM rework is that, 1. Reading about the Global Detection thing just sounds like it's going to do the square root of nothing, like seeing people across the map is nice, but practically useless on a M1 killer with no mobility. I can see it being useful if you see someone in a area with a Drone but besides that I just feel its going to do nothing.
The second problem is that people are still, inevitably, going to whine and complain about SM because they still have Chess Merchant PTSD and don't read patch notes, I genuinely hope this is the final version BHVR settles on regardless of the community's opinion because she's been through 3 versions now in the span of almost 2 years and I am just sick of the endless cycle of SM getting changed, people that don't read the patch notes insta-DCing and complaining on Twitter, causing her killrate to go through the roof and for BHVR to nerf her.
Please BHVR, just settle on this version for like 2 years and never change her beyond bug fixes, the joke was funny the first time and it stopped being funny literal months ago -
One of the key parts of why you might feel this way is that Bots have wallhacks and are impossible to mind-game. Aside from that, I've never really noticed them being better loopers then actual people
-
This has been the 3rd time in the span of about 4 or so months that the devs said they "Fixed" Flashbangs, only for the fix to have done precisely nothing
I'm keeping Lightborn on until I see actual proof that these stupid things are actually fixed
-
Go home OP, you’re drunk
-
Tome 1's challenges aren't impossible, but you can definitely tell that BHVR had no idea what made for a fair challenge when the tomes first came out
-
I have zero emotional attachment to IT or Stephen King's work in general but I'd be happy for the people who really like it

BHVR got gaslit into thinking Map Offerings are all about advantage. Clearly they don't consider things from an unbiased view. This is the result. Clearly a vast majority...not all... can't be arsed to use the tools BHVR provides (Sac Ward) so BHVR just needs to do the next thing. 🤡🤡🤡
If Map offerings weren’t being used for a advantage you wouldn’t see Autohaven, Eyrie, and Midwich offerings 90% of the time
I’d have preferred they get rid of them entirely but this is a fine alternative -
All of the Autohaven maps, Especially Azarovs Resting Place, every time I play killer on them it feels like there is a pallet every 4 feet
-
I am not elaborating further
-
Shoulder the Burden's primary use is to get the user killed sooner in 99 cases out of 100, and in 98 of those cases the perk does ######### all because the person gets hooked again 20 seconds later, leaving the StB user with nothing.
This perk is bad
-
In my completely biased opinion, He’s very fun, but I won’t deny he is very, very exhausting to play, you have to put in a lot more effort and then almost every other killer at even the most basic level in order to get good value out of his power that it just doesn’t appeal to a lot of people, since why bother learning good biopod placements and knowing when you should teleport when you can just play Nurse and accomplish practically the same thing for free and with less hassle
-
It sucked, royally. It was really easy to get from 20 to 9, and then once you got to purple ranks everyone begun bringing incredibly busted stuff because balance back then was comically awful, so if you were a casual player you basically had zero incentive to go past Green, and you would frequently get people who would sit AFK and wait for the match to end so they could go back to lower and easier ranks
MMR is also a completely broken system but I much prefer basically RNG over the garbage that was Ranked Matchmaking

Why are you so comfortable, publically accusing people of theft, based on so little evidence? That's genuinely messed up.
Well we can assume OP plays League of Legends, and that's pretty much all we need to know
-
League Brainrot has gotten so bad that we are now at a point that two completely different outfits with a similar colour scheme is "Shameless plagiarism"
Go home OP, you're drunk
-
For a full chapter? Probably never going to happen
A skin Collection though? I could see that working out fine
-
Honestly I feel like Legion fits in pretty well with the semi-controlled chaos of 2v8, especially with Medics in play
Run fast, injure fast, but also recover from Deep Wound fast and heal back up fast
I will say though, the Killer Instinct detection range could be smaller, being seen across the map by a Killer moving at like 160% speed is pretty ridiculous -
You consider this a bad thing?
RCPD is one of, if not the worst map in the entire game, not getting it frequently is a blessing

I was hoping I'd see a fellow monster hunter in here lol. I used to play switch axe but S&S is so mindless and easy I can't ever go back. I was going to run this benchmark when I got home where do you find it?
I am also very excited, unfortunately 2v8 and the open beta for mhwilds overlap so we're going to have to juggle them appropriately lolEdit: I just realized the beta is open as of today lol this must be where the benchmark is from huh? I didn't even realize I've been so sidetracked lol
I respect SnS mains a ton, it's always fun watching them beat up a giant lizard with nothing but a knife and dinner plate. The Benchmark is actually a separate download that walks you through 2 cutscenes and a opening walking sequence to see how well your computer handles the massive environments
-
The problem DBD would have with adding a health chapter is that it can’t be as simple as fixing a bunch of things, they’d have to at least partially untangle almost 9 years worth of outdated spaghetti code, and if reading the comments on TF2’s code is anything to go by, that would drive even the most mentally sound programmer insane
It should happen, but it would be a nightmare to actually implement
-
Autohaven is not balanced at all and is boring to play on
Houndmaster is slept on
Lery’s and Hawkins are good maps
-
That already basically exists
It's called The Casting of Frank Stone
-
You're going to have to be significantly more specific with what you mean by "Blight Bug"
Blight's kit is practically defined by it not functioning like it's supposed to
-
This is why I always run Lightborn on every Killer
BHVR refuses to fix the problem, so I make it not a problem anymore
-
Because good cinematography is priceless
-
I streamsnipe when I’m playing survivor and a TTV is one of my teammates, and I have to say, it’s kind of useful, effectively being a second set of eyes that let me see where the killer might be from two angles
I’ve set up some nasty saves with streamsniping I would have never had the chance to without it
-
The devs have a weird sense of humour is my best guess
