  • DOesn't take an experiment for the devs to know that a player with thousands of hours + the nurse = bunch of dead survivors. I think they already know that. 😉

  • @George_Soros said:

    @DrDeepwound threats of kidnapping? Seriously?

    Why don't I never get those? :(

yep done live on stream. My mod had to ban them from Twitch chat they were being very creepy, saying all kinds of things about picking my daughter up from school and stuff.

Glad there's another old timer around. While I was gaming and online back then, I never did get involved in UO, but I did get involved in Shadowbane. There was a lot of trash talk and posturing, but it was a far, far different animal than the ######### I see today. I've pretty much become convinced that society is becoming a bunch of sociopaths. It has nothing to do with the actual games, in shadowbane, you could siege someone's city that they spent weeks building up, burn the whole thing to the ground and then camp their corpses all day, killing them on every respawn... and you still didn't get the kind of nastiness you see after someone spent 10-20 minutes investing in a match here.

yeah, same here. There's always been trash talk, and rage quitting etc,... but the stuff I get told on a REGULAR BASIS playing DBD is some of the most vile things Ive been told online. From constant N Word to threats of kidnapping, you cant even make this stuff up.

  • Not all game communities are quite as toxic as this, Ive been PVPing since Ultima Online in the 90s - for example in the speedrun community, you can litewrally beat someones World Record time and they will congratulate you, be friends with you and even learn from your run. Beat someone in this game, you get told they will kidnap your family (had it done to me) never in any other game did I have my child threatened.

While there is toxicity in online gaming, its not quite as bad as in this game where you get told to ######### just for winning match as Hag.

Deathgarden is also a game of theirs and it will have a new game mode 2vs6 or 2v10 i dont remember. They have dedicated servers and i think that that is the "solution".

Deathgarden is entire different team and game though. DBD is their cash cow and doubt the owners want anything changed or added that could change it unless it specifically means more money, such as cosmetic store. They sure coded that one quick, if the owners OK a dev idea I am sure they go with it. I cant imagine the ties even caring about a second game mode, if they did the devs would be more positive about it instead of what I said, "its too difficult its like a whole new game" which is ALWAYS the dev response in these cases.

Small indie titles deal with this too, "make it local coop" etc,... its about money and resources but at the end of the day it is what the owners sign off on that gets developed.

  • Notice if its something like the DS bug right now survivors want it fixed ASAP!

But a perk bug that benefits them, oh well thats gonna take a few patches and months to fix.

    every time LUL

  • I doubt we ever get a second game mode, theres far more successful games that have ran into this type of issue and the dev response is always: "its like creating a new game within the game"

Devs dont seem to have the resources to do the things they want to do, but also devs answer to the owners and only do what they tell them they can or invest in

    @DrDeepwound

The perk isn't consistent, that's what I'm saying. You as the killer have no say on whether or not the perk activates because you're hoping to the holy Entity that you get lazy survivors.

Yep, all hex perks are. It's why many killers, myself included, don't really run them. I play without ruin etc,.,.. I'm not much of a gambling man.

    @DrDeepwound

I do every totem I come across, and I often bring Small Game or Special Maps to locate totems easily. However, in most cases, you're likely forced to do all of them because your teammates are lazy. Like I said, this perk is very viable when you get lazy survivors, and is near useless when you get dedicated survivors. See where I'm coming from?

So what you are saying is the perk is balanced and is not OP.

Not only can it be countered, but it doesnt even work much of the time.

Yeah I see where you coming from. It's a team game, if your team sucks, not the killer or perks fault.

  • @FrenziedRoach said:

Maybe because Orion doesn't like your idea and thinks the perk is fine how it is.

The problem is literally that survivors don't want to do their optional objective, even though people keep whining that survivors need something else to do.

YOU HAVE SOMETHING ELSE TO DO, DO THE DAMN BONES!

And now that totems (both dull and hex) give Lightbringer points, totems are literally part of their objective now.

As they walk right by every dull totem on the map....

  • gonna miss OG Freddy.

Put 100s of hours into roleplaying him, lots of memories and fun battling through the red ranks to reach rank 1 with him.

    Gonna miss you man.

  • 2019 and NOED still triggering survivors like 2016 🤩

  • @LordGlint said:

Ppl are also failing to remember that both NOED and Adrenaline activate when the hatch is closed. Did the survivor EARN that adrenaline still when 5 gens are still left to do and hatch gets closed? Did the killer still FAIL in this instance?

They always leave that one out, survivor fails to do any gens, 3 dead one on the ground, you close the hatch - the 4th one gets up running.

But hey, noed rewards bad killers right? 😎

  • @LordGlint said:

If anyone is gonna be a tank, its gonna be Jeff or David. Meg can be the scout.

    Bill - Wizard

    Dwight - Paladin

  • @ElusivePukka said:

They really ought to take reports on streamsniping. DbD kinda relies on streamers for exposure and continued interest, and BHVR is alienating a lot of them by failing to take care of their community in more ways than just that.

Devs have stated on this forum that the streamers have tools to help, like stream delay, but none of the DBD streamers use a delay as far as I can tell. Have never seen one use a delay ever in my recollection, some block the load in screen but no delay.

Everygame that has online PVP has snipers, and PUBG streamers deal with it the same - they use a delay.

  • I play Hag more than any other killer at the moment, and can verify, you get so much salt playing Hag.

I don’t agree with the idea. Everyone thinks differently so with all the people playing dbd we do have some killer mains supporting an idea like this.

So where are all the killermains agreeing with the idea?

    Hmmm, donty see any.

  • @GrootDude said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/586337#Comment_586337

Some killer mains don’t camp and play survivor some. Some of them would like unfun mechanics IE gen rush and camping looked at.

    get real.

I play both survivor and killer, which is exactly why I said what I said. I play more survivor than killer these days and even I can see why 2 more minutes on the hook is a survivor biased idea. Asking to be punished for camping is not something that killermains ever really do. PS look above many agree with me ;) go argue with them

You have proof of this wild claim? Other people might think like this. Btw OP this was tested before and abused.

Yeah, killer mains always ask to be "punished" with 2 minutes more hook time.

    get real.

    I think it's bad enough.

Let's say Mr. Killer plays at R1 every month. Then, rank reset happens (I still don't know exactly why do we need that), and he's R10. He then decides to take a break from the game for a couple of months. R13. R15.

R15, after 2 months of not playing the game, but he has 2000 hours and was a Rank 1 killer all the time.

2000 hours going against the guy that just bought the game yesterday.

    It definitely sucks major ass.

Which proves my point even more.

If they are even decent they would climb rank out of rank 15 quickly, so if they arent good no one would complain about versing them, you have to try to stay at low rank in this game.

What you posted proves if you are p3 at rank 15 youre basically doing it to bully noobs.

  • If the rank 15 killer wasnt good it wouldnt be an issue, when a post is made complainig about a rank 15 killer who is p3 at rank 15 versing rank 20 survs, it wouldnt be because they werent good, it is because they are good that proves they know what they are doing and playing at a smurf account rank.

If you even play killer a little bit, you have to actually TRY to stay below rank 15 come on.

Rank 15 killers at rank 19 is bad?

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

any killer who is p3 at rank 15 is doing so to grief noobs.

  • @FredKrueger said:

I get what your saying 100%. A lot of people that put 100's of hours into this game get bored, get new games and quit playing for a couple months, then come back and still have all the best perks and add-ons, and are put in matches with noobs because of the de-rank BS. I gave up trying to get my friends into this. They ALL said it's way to hard on both sides (PS4) and the grind just isn't worth their time. They would rather have fun playing something else, then waste their time getting crushed almost every match, just to earn a small amount of BP's. Sad thing is my one friend just bought this for GF bought all the additional content too and really wanted to get into it, but gave up because he said it's just to depressing loosing all the time.

I get put in rank 20 killer lobbies as a survivor even when I am over rank 10, not sure why but the match making in this game is silly sometimes. Dont even need to take a break to do that

  • maybe Amanda is non binary, we dont know.

  • would be cool but doubt it's something theyll dedicate resources to.

@DrDeepwound Since when do companies lower microtransaction prices after a while? I've only seen the opposite happen.

Was speaking in general about business practices, but you are correct, this type of transactions are usually very aggressive with their targets.

    mori gamers detected

the game pretty much requires killers to play moris.

  • They wont remove "soft bans" they literally created them so they wouldnt have to actually ban people when they were confronted with thousands and thousands of survivors exploiting the asylum map exploits.

Its why I stopped reporting people, you take your time to record videos, fill out form for each offender then everyone I got banned, was unbanned by the weekend and they reversed all the bans to become "temp bans."

The entire temp ban system was created so they didnt have to ban anyone for real.

This makes no sense, because the killer player is the host.

And in my experience, they are bugged.

It looks totally bugged, because the grabing animation starts, but then it change automatic to the hit animation.

The reason I say its a bug and not latency on my end is because you can not experience anything else in the match that is lag or latency, but the grab will be. Rest of the match, every hit, every chase is fine, yet the grab wasnt?

  • yes, seems so, this happens to all of us. I get the animation of a grab then bam it doesnt grab. I am on fiber and never experience anything else that can be attributed to lag or latency. The grab bug seems to be the only thing, so not sure if it is on my end as killer.

  • have you ever had an Adam or Claudette crouch walk the edge of map on you for over 30 minutes?

    pretty much why.

  • Its the same people who get fun out of hurting animals and stuff, its a function in the brain that gives them pleasure from hurting others. Its technically "sadism" - whether they are young or old the internet gives them the privacy and anonymity to get their pleasure.

In the case of young ones, they are still learning their stimuli and enjoy the feeling of hurting someone else, most likely from their family upbringing often by abusive parents, especially mentally abusive ones.

Not trying to deny the issue, just pointing out that it isn't really required.

Would be hard to ban VPN, even Netflix and other streaming services are struggling with that issue. They don't brand the IP addresses but rather use default hostname and reverse DNS etc..

I understand, and thats what makes it even worse, yes your lobbies will have people from all over the world regularly and it shouldnt even happen with a "steam game" as steam uses your billing region on your account, but DBD I think doesnt use that anymore? Anyhow, the match making is plagued with out of region players for most people. I see people from Russia, France, Texas, brazil everywehere complain about "why my players from Korea, China, japan" etc,...

  • devs have stated they tried 1st person survivor and while its fun, it was too hard.

I personally think both killers and survivors should have the option to play in 1st or 3rd.

Its a no brainer really. The ONLY reason killer is forced to 1st person is to give survivor advantage, most of the window tech type of stuff only occurs because of the forced 1st person on killer. Removing that advantage gives killers much more Field of View, honestly its a killer nerf. LUL

  • @Slay___ said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/584289#Comment_584289

I agree but.. You don't even need a VPN to mess up the matchmaking, just play off peak hours. I live in Finland and get people all over the world in my lobby or end up in theirs. Brazil, Argentina, Korea, Japan, China etc..

Just like any game the accusations are thrown at the enemy all the time and often without a reason too, just like crying out "hacks" or "cheats" in most multiplayer games.

Even had a red ping click ready in my lobby and saying I lag switched afterwards once, https://slay.pro/2019/03/01/lag-switching-accusation-with-a-red-ping-in-dbd/

Yes, out of region VPN users are a big problem in this game, Ive posted about it for over 2 years as I have worked in the webhost industry for many years and see it in my region too, everyone tries to connect to US West to play our lobbies.

On Cali on Fiber and I get tons of Asians (China is heavy VPN users) foreign countries like that use VPNS to get around government rules like bans on how long you can play a game etc,... so we get to deal with them in our lobbies using west coast VPns. They region hop in all games for advantage, just like in PUBG, its done ion DBD regularly, I wish theyd ban VPNs, wed probably see a big change in matchmaking, but as Ive know for awhile, theres more Asian players than good ol boys in texas playing DBBD

@ShrimpTwiggs I don't want to discuss this here, it'd turn into flames.

My point is, streamsniping is the streamers' problem. They should deal with it. Hey, isn't True one of the most shining example of a streamer who thinks of himself as a legend? I mean, even his name... Surely he could deal with a streamsniper, regardless of their unfair advantage?

So you run into a theatre yell "FIRE" then run out and hide?

Maybe you shouldnt say inflammatory trolling statement you know to be an insult just to derail a thread before retreating?

I think with a name like george Soros youre just here to troll anyway.

  • people try to say everything is a lag switch and blame the killer for cheating, when in fact, its often the dsync and latency from the survivor p2p connection and not the killer at all.

Im on fiber in Cali and sometimes get teleporting survivors, its not me, its the dumb survivor probably using VPN and jumping regions

  • Well In think survs should have 1st person option too, call me crazy for thinking options are good. ;)

  • Killer should have 3rd person option in general, not even sure why they dont. You can only look one direction at a time anyway LUL

my region includes a large part of Europe and beyond, sometimes I also found Arab Killers. But what does vocal tricks mean, then if one plays with a friend in multiplayer he cannot use the party or discord because this is immoral? but where is it written? but do you read yourself when you write this crap? obviously I refer not to DBD but to all games. (sorry for the term I used)

And I repeat, little man, I play also as a killer and even if the game is unbalanced I don't go out of the lobby every time, also because 90% are all premade by 3 or by 4

    Little man?

Personal insults are uncalled for. I didnt say anything about Discord you are rambling on complaining about things I didnt even mention. Enjoy your long lobbies.

  • @Angelino244 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/582920#Comment_582920

Because I play more often with friends than without, I am not referring only to DBD but to all the games I play. So if I want to play a few games with some friends I would like to be free to do it quickly and not wait 1 hour to play a game. But since this game can't give me what I want, I think I won't play swf anymore and I'll rarely play killer games.

In fact I tell you more, if it was not for the "love" of the game it would have been a long time that we would have abandoned, trusted. We are just a few friends playing for fun and we don't necessarily use OP items or toxic ######### techniques. So according to your reasoning when I play Killer, should I spend minutes and minutes to find a mixed game? no, I don't think so, I also put myself in the shoes of survival that wait minutes and minutes to find the lobbies and then the killer goes out (not all swf are toxic I met serious people too).

Lack of players in your region is not the game or killers fault.

@KillermainBTWm8 exactly it's like the mistakes just hurt to watch sometimes and the killers I don't play I feel like I'm actively learning from the match too so it's of more benefit. Makes it more exciting in a way, thanks for the reply. I want to see if it's a general trend or if it's the killer playstyle being fun to watch in general.

so, why not, offer advice so everyone can get better?

Just because someone streams doesnt mean they know everything about the game, many of them have not that many hours etc,... it will make you feel better to offer advice more than complaining about them.
