IF they ever change Billy base kit, Im done.
-
One thing is for sure brothers and sisters of the fog, if they touch Nurse,.... our beloved Billy will be next.
To the pitchforks everyone!
-
Hoping matchmaking gets better too.
-
Survivors have been skins since day 1.
-
the little skull icon was enough tbh, we dont need a big visual change + new sounds etc,... but hey these changes arent for those of us with eyes, its for casual rank 20s I guess.
-
Nothing like paying for a nice fiber dedicated line for your gaming, then your lobbies filled with people from other side of the world.
Not even sure why, but this game constantly puts people from Japan, China, Korea in my California lobbies.
Like, can the matchmaking at least detect 2000+ miles between us?

Harassment: Communications Abuse
Insults, intimidation, hateful speech, repeated harassment
The only one on the list which is not instantly self explanatory is insults of where the line is but you need some really bad ones bordering on extreme to get banned for that.
Wait out the ban and learn from it to become a better human being.
if you got banned for "insults" almost all of the big DBD streamers would be banned, they constantyly refer to who they are chasing as "female dogs" B word and tons of profanity laced negatives in after game chat, yet they get free codes to give away during their stream LUL

Let's think about this rationally:
BBQ maximum proc = 12 times, easily countered numerous ways.
Alert procs average of over 20 times per match with no maximum telling you where killer is all match. Can't be countered by killer.
therefore, BBQ is not as OP as Alert thread is void.
-
With the Devs adding Twitch Tournament support with leaderboards there is, and has been competitions in this game for years. While not official, players have been doing DBD tournaments since I started playing and before, as far back as 2016-2017
Devs want this to be more competitive, but use the phrase "casual competitive" whatever that means, but the game is set up for tournmanets now with twitch challenges being added not that long ago.
-
"Fun Killers" + "Voice Comms in game"
Future of DBD
-
Do people even realize that some PC players use a controller. Some use controller for survivor and keyboard and mouse for killer................. It's not that big of a deal which input method you use, just like some speedrunners play Megaman with a mouse and KB and some use controllers, they still compete agaionst each other.
-
NoEd is totally fine.
One thing I have noticed in my 2 years playing this game is people like to try and shame/bully killers for running Noed, youll see it in every thread "rewards bad killers" type of posts etc,... which is not true. It's just groupthink way to try and shame others.
NoED has been worked, and reworked, changed, and nerfed until its now completely counterable before it even procs.
What NoED DOES do is trigger bad survivors, who think just because they did 5 gens the game is over and they won. No, until you walk out the exit gate game is not over. If you doing 360s at exit gate waiting for your friends and get hit with noed, whos fault was it? You shouldve left. Killer sacrificed a perk slot for an end game perk you have complete control over, its your fault.
The way I see it, a perk is a perk. Unless you play perkless you shouldnt be shaming another player for running noed because all perks are basically crutches that reward players. Self care is way more of a crutych than noed, but you never see survivors shaming other survivors who run self care do ya?
Look in the mirror before you shame another player.

got exposed last night and was like "wth, whered ghostface come from, its a Myers!"

Did you buy those super overpriced skins for Pig despite her being already trash tier?
Well, thank you! We can now nerf Pig again!
Theres people in this game who MUST have every cosmetic, regardless of if they play the killer/survivor or not. Have seen them on live streams, they drop $100s of dollars on stuff they dont play, for example, one bought all the clown cosmetics, and doesnt play clown at all.
People just addicted or have FOMO and they gotta have it no matter what LUL

The did ban players including streamers for the Asylum exploit. One in particular got banned for going to the safe place just to heal someone but they all got unbanned after it was fixed.
yeah as I said, they created temp/soft bans during that
In the end though they were unbanned.
-
I am a killer main simply by hours played on that side, but when these things happen or events, I play survivor to not wait.
-
@Bongbingbing said:
It's just like the Wake Up exploit, They'd have to ban a hell of a lot of people including Fog Whisperers which isn't going to happen.
I think Exploits should be bannable but it's best we just forget about it for now and hope that this is just a change in policy going forward regarding exploits and not just because it was an exploit on the survivor side.
Or, just like the Asylum Exploits, which is literally when/why they created temp/soft bans in the first place, so they didnt have to ban a ton of streamers, who some have now gone on to be Fog Whisperers LUL
its a cycle isnt it? LUL

@LordGlint There is a difference between playing competitively and devs making a game competitive by choice. I'd rather keep DbD more on the casual side. There isn't really that big of a point playing competitively due to the balance problems that exist, the rng on some maps and map layouts and the inconsistencies between players skill levels in the same ranks.
with the addition of Twitch Challenges, devs now refer to it as "casual competitions"
DEAD BY DAYLIGHT – TWITCH CHALLENGES (BETA) Behaviour is excited to team up with Amazon to bring the GameOn Tournament Organizer to Dead by Daylight. With this Twitch Extension, streamers can organize and invite their community to join them in casual competitions easily accessed from within the game.an oxymoron if there ever was one. 🤣

As someone with 100s of hours on OG Freddy, adrenaline should definitely, not wake you up. Either you get healed one state or wake up, but not both.

But this is good! If someone tries to save the second you hook someone you wont have to recover from hitting the hooked survivor if you hit him by accident
it may also address a tactic used by good survivors, they unhook/fake and run through the person and you werent able to hit them because youd hit the guy on hook instead.
confirm?
-
@SnakeSound222 said:
Wouldn't that be a good thing? Now when a Survivor goes for a save near you, you'll be able to hit the unhooker instead of the hooked Survivor.
or does it work like old Freddy and you swing at the one who is not able to be hit versus the one in the dreamworld you chasing? (OG Freddy)
I cant log in to test, can we get some confirmation? anyone playing?

Something else that wasnt broken, didnt need touching yet they messed with it?

I agree a totem counter is OP. I also agree comms is OP, but the problem there is you can't really do anything to stop it AND on platforms such as Xbox the devs literally can't even disable it because it's a platform feature. AFAIK the only game that's ever actually disabled the ability to use party chat while playing online was one of the COD games, Black Ops 2 I think but I don't play COD so IDK. Unfortunately it's just something that we need to live with as it's outside the control of the devs.
well props to you for understanding both sides and I take back my comments about you being survivor biased, apologies.
-
for the most part gamer forums are just players debating game mechanics and stuff, nothing really useful tbh, been that way since the 90s when PVP started LUL
-
This may have been a casual game in the past, but now that Tournaments have been introduced along with leaderboard Twitch tournament implementation, this game has evolved past that.

I have the best solution for this Totem Counter gets added to Small Game Perk Distingish gets added to Thrill of the Hunt <3 @PrincessPoop both require a perk that is already in the game so these weaker perks get a buff. Both teams get what they want.
I think that would be pretty fair, most of the time killer issues are dealt with by adding a perk, that you MUST run or you stuck dealing with an in-game issue. I think applying it to perks would be fine.
I could agree on that. Its the "we want our info but killers shouldnt have any info" that triggers me LUL
-
"Giving the player information they shouldn't have access to is OP."
Most killers agree, which is why they are against in game voice chat and SWF with Discord, totem counters etc,.... But I jest, we all know you only mean "giving killers too much info" Its totally fine for survivors to get too much info.

Are you kidding me? Do you seriously think a totem counter for survivors is more valuable info than a killer knowing which hex applies to which perk? That’s insane lol
Not going to go into it, but a totem counter would have a profound effect on "search times" and benefit survivors more than they obviously realize. This thread uses the "randomness of totems" as a gamble to justify its value, by having survivors know if all totems are done etc would technically speed up the game in their favor, but I dont expect people who only play one side to even understand how it would. In fact, the only thing good about ruin is it makes people run around to find it, hence its value in search time gained
hence Peanits saying in a thread about this, that if they would need to they would adjust totem times to balance it because, guess what, I am correct.
-
yes.
-
I dont care one way or the other what the implement as long as the fanbois/gurlz keep buying, so I can enjoy my Hag DLC, best 3.84 ever spent.
Buy that battle pass!
Buy those cosmetics, I needs free dedicated servers
-
So these stats are incorrect?
Earlier this week, we asked you what statistics you would like to see.Hag is always at the top of the kill rates, now nurse it top?
-
Fact: if they implement in game voice comms with any limitations like proximity, survivors will still use Discord to get around it, so "balancing around in game voice coms" is wishful thinking.

@DrDeepwound Try to keep the survivor vs killer thing out of this. That only acts to tear down discussion and derail threads.
the entire forum is about survivors vs killers, I play both so I call it out when I see it.... this thread and my post showcase it.
What is good for the killers = bad needs nerfing or no implementation. Totem colors = too much info
What is good for survivors needs to be added ASAP. Totem counter, voice comms etc = totally fine.

"Because that's what Hex totems are, a gamble."
That doesn't make sense. If you only have one Hex Perk, there is no gamble. There is one totem, and you try to defend it as long as you can within reason (unless it is Hex: Haunted Grounds).
What you are saying does not apply at all if there is only one Hex; why should it apply when if there are two?
keep in mind these survivors want and will be getting push to talk voice comms in game, but a killer knowing which totem is which is simply "too much info."
clear bias apparent to anyone with eyes

No because then killer would know to let survivors cleanse those specific totems. It's supposed to be a gamble. You don't know which totem is which, therefore you have to protect them all as if they are the one you want to protect. If you get lucky, survivors proc HG. If you are unlucky, they get Ruin or whatever else it was.
it doesnt HAVE to be a gamble, its only that way to keep killers "in the dark with less info"
playing a perk shouldnt be a gamble anyhow, its just survivors expect a killers ability/playstyle to be a punishment attached instead of giving him/her power actually.
wheres the gamble with Alert? Alert gives you way more info than color coded totems ever would.
As I predicted, any amount of info a killer has is deemed too much. Meanwhile Alert procs average of 25 times per match, BBQ max proc 12
-
If price is too much just dont buy them.
Personally, I am thankful for those that spend $500+ on cosmetics in this game, keep giving the devs money so I can play my old Hag DLC I got for $3.84
-
you will see by replies that survivors wont want this because youll have "too much info"
you know, but they want a totem counter.... and thats not too much info, right? ;)
-
you know its bad when you complain about ruin, a perk that gets totem destroyed in average of 20 seconds beginning of match.
Both ruin and BBQ have counters, BBQ you literally have perks like Distortion that negate it, so you have perks to counter it, and ruin is trash, I dont even run it,.
fact: good survivors push through ruin like its not there.
-
@thesuicidefox said:
Small Game is plenty for countering totems. You really don't even need it if you know where all the totem spawns are.
I wonder if its mostly survivors who never play killer than cant find totems. After 1400 hours on killers, I pretty much know where totems are as survivor on every map.

@Boss said:
Wraith is actually supposed to stay cloaked when stunned by a Pallet at base.
Apparently that's been bugged ever since 1.8 and everyone accepted it as how it's supposed to be.
nope, pallet stuns negate a killers power. And wraiths power is cloaking, he is supposed to come out of cloak for reason shown above by Peanits.
Plague, Legion etc all lose their power when pallet stunned, makes sense for wraith too.
-
finding totems in this game is so easy, theres only so many tiles, and its on one of them.
Not like they are actually hidden, some are in plain sight the moment you run 20 m from where you start LOL
-
So saying "they want killers to not be as powerful as nurse and be fun" is pretty much what I said.
Points to PLague and Ghostface.

@shmoul said:

That is maybe the worst balance philosophy I've ever seen. Just because you spend some time practicing nurse doesn't mean you should be able to dominate every single team you come across.
thats how most games work, including Super Mario bros.
-
no, devs have stated that they only intend on making "fun killers" from here on out, they have no plans to ever make another nurse-tier killer
-

So many complaining about something that is unlikely to happen, lol.
If voice comms shouldn't be added in-game, people should stay quiet about people using voice comms outside of the game too.
now that is some logic and critical thinking right there.
"If you think voice comms shouldnt be in the game, you shouldnt be able to talk about it."
Makes sense....
-
I mained him for hundreds of hours, yes, gonna miss OG Freddy.
Of course people who didnt play him wont care, cool, let them delete your favorite killer/survivor and see how it feels. My builds will no longer work etc, entire playstyle gone.
We shouldve been able to play both of them, at one time I only played Freddy all day everyday.

@Tensor said:
It would fix the SWF rubbish
As long as the killer cant talk, I dont need to hear that during a game, But, I dont mind the idea of the killer hearing the chat if s/he is in range to know what is going on
so you dont want to hear the killer, but think the killer wants to hear a bunch of mouth breathing teenagers?
-
"shouting louder to killer"
just what all killers wanted, yay!
