It feels like every time I play Legion, the survivors know exactly how to bait me, 360, make me miss, and are well versed in the art of jump scaring via pallet stunning.
I just look like I'm always going to commit. Occasionally i might get stunned if i screw the timing but generally just commit and they'll either not throw and get a smack or you can get a hit before they realize youre commiting. Thing is too, unless it's your first loop chasing that survivor you can usually tell what theyre going to do from the first pallet if they make it to another.

Thanks for the replies guys. Glad to see im not just pointlessly feeling this way and others have felt this.
Thanks for the advice as well.

If you cannot find fun in playing the game anymore, then you have to take a break. You can try different things like fun builds but in the end, you can't force yourself to have fun.
Gameplay-wise: If you play SWF with smart teammates that help you and you bring certain perks + items as well, tunneling is not that big of a problem. You can even save teammates from camping killers without throwing the match, as long as the killer doesn't have an insta-down.
So, if you don't want to stop playing DbD, I suggest that you play SWF and bring the "good stuff".
I just really prefer solo. Its just one of my unpopular opinions but even a bad swf can wreck killers. So I avoid it other then when im with my girlfriend. I try to run different perks for experiments sake or just fun but i cant keep up when the other role is using the best of the best
Taking a break is probably the best i suppose but with double bp comimg and a new content update its just sad to.
The game being insanely bugged out from this last update doesnt help make me want to stay either.

I kinda feel hopeless about the game. Namely because of the staleness of the game's meta and the way people play. As well as the direction the DEVS are taking the game.
I've put so much time into the game and so much real money supporting it that I can't bare to give up on it.
But I just feel so exhausted without having to run the same stuff to do well as both killer and survivor and that not even always being a guarantee of having a fun time.
I feel that same hopelessness. And other then cosmetics ive sank as much money into the game as possible too, so I dont want to just upright leave either.
But you're right about the perks too, i didn't mention it but thats another big problem. I have to run meta perks to stand a chance, on either side, but am supposed to not because thats toxic too. So idk. I hate knowing that I can't even just use different perks and builds for fun because it cant compete with the other meta builds.

holy ######### that wasnt even a long chase. They had 3 done in a minute and a half. Thats wild my man.
-
Simplest way to put it is i play how they want.
Don't ######### know why i play nice, but I do. I hook someone and leave the immediate area, I don't tunnel and if i accidently find the survivor i just unhooked the most I'll do is slug them and head off, I dont camp even when I should unless i see someone, if i steamroll i usually let the last have the hatch, unless I know the last two survivors are near one another i dont slug for the 4k. I go as far as not even using powerful addons or perks because survivors get so whiny about it.
But you know the damdest thing? No matter how easy i take it on them, even when i play how they want me to play, so THEY can have the most fun possible. They still whine, cry, and send hatemail far too often. They still teabag at pallets and windows, they still act toxic.
Ive been thinking about posting something about this. Just stop playing nice killers.

I believe that disconnecting should result with the disconnector losing a percent amount of blood points based on how many they currently have and how many times they have disconnected in a week. This would discourage disconnections to the extent that they would be most likely a thing of the past.
That sounds pretty dope actually. But sometimes I'm only holding on to little bp at a time because im trying to level something asap, so it wouldnt be a bother at that point. Plus theres a few times where i start a game and something pops up so i gotta go. Wouldn't want that harsh a punishment for randomness of life making me leave.
Other then that i think thats an awesome idea

Imagine a piece of bread (pallet). Now put a bit of cheese on the bread (survivor). Now, with you knife (chainsaw) cut straight down the middle of the bread. Did you cut the cheese? Good job, you've instadowned your survivor.
That is far too complex for them to understand.

Finally, after decades, people are finally realizing how strong the perk is, and (Surprise) is stronger than balanced landing.
Actually It's been 2 weeks since I haven't played dbd, and I want to know:
Main killers, how are things with Dead Hard (at rank 1?) ?
Just touch their booty in chase and they'll use it. Its not that bad unless they use it to make it to a pallet, but thats still just once so.. Still not that crazy.

It is now ascertained that the portals of the demogorgon are completely useless, nobody uses them because basically you don't have time to place them, and even if you did, the survivors will remove them away a moment later because it takes very little time to remove them, besides the fact that it is too intricate to use them, not only do you always have to have one available, but then you have to put yourself on the portal, look in the direction of the portal where you want to go out and then use it, really a slow/intricate/complex mechanics that is not convenient to anyone, I met so many demogorgons since from the ptb and even now with the official release, NO ONE has used the portals, only the shred.
I have an idea to make this mechanics useful:
The portals are used to give map control to the demogorgon, they work more or less like those of the hag, but those of the hag are designed to attack, in fact the hag has immediate teleportation and possibility of immediate attack. Those of demogorgon need ONLY to give to the demogorgon the map control, so why make them destructible by survivors? Shred is his power to do damage, portals instead only serve to give him mobility on the map, but if the survivors can break them what are they for then? So my idea is to make PERMANENT portals on the map, maybe even reduce the number if necessary, but make them permanent, in order to make them much more useful and above all entice the killer to position them, because for now nobody uses them because it is really easy to remove them and it is really difficult to use them, but above all, in the case in which all of them are positioned, if the survivors do not remove someone, you will not have any more, because it's not possible replace like the traps of the hag. In short, it is a poorly designed mechanics that does not work.
What do you think?
PS: I'm main surv, and I don't have demogorgon, I only have steve and nancy, so I'm not a main killer, I simply love the game and I'm sorry to see the demogorgon that is a beautiful killer aesthetically but with a power that is really too weak.. (useless portals and shreds that really dodge too easily from a survivor)
Im not god tier or anything but if say portals are horrible youre definitally wrong. I can only imagine youve been facing nothing but rank 20 demos if your thought on that killer you dont even play is bad, that or youre juat hopping on the band wagon for some reason even though youre a surv main.
Ive gotten plenty on jumps on survivors with portals. People place them right next to gens for some reason and they get cleansed instantly after 1st use. I hide them around the corner if possible but close enough to catch survivors off guard.
If im not seeing anyone or any gen progress on the side of the map im on I crawl away to the other side of the map instantly to continue the patrol. Uhm anyways no, portals arent bad. The only thing wrong with them is you have to get survivors to destroy them if you want more. Demo should be able to close and open his own portals at will.

If the killer sees me break the hex totem or reasonably assumes I'm the one who did as I'm coming from the explosion, you can bet your butt I'm gonna get tunnel-camped for the game. Happens maybe 7/10 times that they see me break the totem.
Is there a reason why you all feel like I murdered your wife and daughter when I break your hex totems?
I mean you deleted one of their four perks. I don't personally get booty hurt over it but I get why other2a get triggered.

Yeah I was hoping Demo's power would be to take survivors to the upside down, like Freddy's old setup and everything would have been affected. All survivors would appear invisible, but you can hear them at certain portal rifts that will be their exit (others are false and meant to be like pigs macabre search), and if you don't escape in time you die from the Thesslehydra's influence consuming you, unlike when Will was taken over by it. But seeing as Demo's released now, im just hoping for an add on that allows the Demogorgon to make portal rifts on things like trees and walls like it did from the first season.
Yup that would have been awesome my girlfriend suggested the same thing. Only time will tell suppose but i learned not to get my hopes up sadly

I have a video where I faced the same issue. Its like this right? https://youtu.be/0kP63jlscJQ
That honestly looks really cool. I was pretty sad to see survivors have no interaction with the upside down whatsoever other then clearing portals. I kinda wouldnt mind if that stayed. Makes it feel more like ST

Dedicated servers are live, and it's been over an entire ######### year since this bug has been an issue. It shoukdnt be a problem anymore. You're entire thread got ignored because you posted without fact checking haha xD .
Anyways ill not do that. I agree it should be fixed by now. Especially because theres an achievement for it I think, its stupid to get cucked out of it because it works only half the time.

Right?
Red ranks have a lvl 15 host so they can bully weak killers but cry when the killer retaliates. Toxic af
-
1. Blame you and your team noed activated. Not the killer.
2. Blame your team mates for unhooking in front of my face. Not the killer.
3. Blame yourself after i tunnel TF out of you and camp you when youre teabagging and blinding at every pallet.
-
Nah man. If i have it ill use it no matter what. Free bp? Yup.
The auras are cool too i guess xD

Even if theres a 99% chance to get the new map because that one percent you can wind up never getting it forever. You'll gwt it eventually.

Ruin isn't bad at all. It trains survivirs to hit skillchecks. And if they dont want to to do to that it trains then to study the map for totem spawns. I mean ruin almost dies instantly anyways so i dont know what youre trying to say.

Uh.... I don't understand what youre saying. Is ruin bad? Good? You were genrushed with ruin active? I dont understand.

You might want to edit your post.
It seems the forum censor is bugged.
But I agree.
I got cheated out of my Steve Adept by the killer DC after I exited the gate.
I also got ZERO survival points too.
Annoying.
Whoa i didnt catch that lol. Maybe its not that bad a word then ha.

You're supposed to be able to close it before/as they're jumping in but this just happened to me the other day too so who knows if it got changed. I walked all over while she was like barely touching it and I couldnt close it so she escaped. Bs but whatevs

People here say its your own fault the team goes down. Hilarious as a solo player.
Waiting by the gate is fine unless its a high mobility killer then its gg no chance.
Oh lol. I only solo so i definitally know its always my fault the team dies.

@Coriander said:
I personally like the collapse. It's really dramatic, like a dire situation in which the world is collapsing around you, making the final moments a desperate escape. The remaining survivors must scramble to get out, saving who they can or leaving them on a hook.
It's also really important because otherwise the game could drag on. For some reason survivors like to make the killer DC and will do so by just hiding at the end. Lately, there seems to be a new fad where a team will join into a game and see how long they can last hiding and circling the map to avoid crows. I don't understand this. It's a waste of time and really frustrating for the killer. So not only is the EGC important, but there needs to be a timer or some other method in which the killer can choose to start the collapse under other conditions to prevent an entire team of survivors from taking the game hostage.
Oh i love it too. It looks fantastic. The first time I saw it i got mad goosebumps.
Well unfortunately egc wouldnt come into play if there is no endgame so I dont know what to tell you about the survivors doing that. Its scum though for sure
-
@Clover1 said:
Gates spawn too close together half the time. Killer finds the hatch first most of the time as they are running around the map while you are holding m1
You can play amazingly well, have potato teammates and most of the time get free killed by the ecg.
Its your own fault btw.
Half the time is still too common.
Killers closing hatch is fine, as long as gates spawn decently away. Even in a 1v1 if you hide by the gate and wait for the killer to patrol you almost always have enough time to open it.
Its my fault what?
-
@AetherBytes said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/87734/thoughts-about-egc
EGC is built to force survivors to escape because they have no objectives. A downed or hooked survivor, however, creates an objective, so the timer is slowed a lot to give survivors a chance to save their friend.
I get that, its just that I see this happen a lot. :A survivor gets down, timer slows drastically. People end up trading downs keeping the timer slow. After a while either someone dies on hook and everyone leave or they all make it anyways. With bountiful time to spare.
Again, not to piss anyone off. Im not complaining. Im just curious if there's a different way to go about it.
-
@Alice_pbg said:
In my experience, most of the time the egc happens the killer wins. At least in 1v1 scenarios, or 2v1

Dang. I swear thats rare to me but every experience ia different i suppose
-
All jokes aside, this is how survivors are. Anyone whos played long enough has had all these encounters over and over.
I ran the killer around for five gens, when someone got caught and camped, I'm a worthless noob that didn't do anything because i didnt rush in and down myself for her to be free.
I unhooked a survivor in front of an exit gate, an open exit gate, with borrowed time and for some (bad word) reason she decided to run to a loop instead of out the gate. She got downed and I got a "thanks for the farm, you [bad word] idiot."
Etc etc etc. It's just how the majority of survivors are. And thats me playing as survivor, the stuff they complain about or whine and insult about when im killer is beyond even that kind of nonsense.
Yeah, ive got killer hatemail too dont get me wrong. But its consistent with survivors.
Just try not to let it get you
-
Doing gens, you?
-
@OGOzSnowChimp said:
I'm only a new player and in the green ranks so I know my opinion carries very little weight but I find being a killer supremely fun regardless of the time the gens are done or the amount of people that escape.
Perhaps I am just an odd duck.
You're just new man. Give it some time and you'll feel it eventually.
-
I can't stand mori rituals for that reason.
But they give like double bp compared to normal rituals so i try.
They either dc or you get called scum, its a lose lose
-
Lol
-
I don't know dude it's really awful. Other then capping on my 1m bp I haven't played at all recently because I really can't bother to sit there for 5-20 minutes to search for a match that seems only gets started 50% of the time. I'd like an explanation too. I play at two different houses both with good internet and its always a long wait no matter where.
Killer though, I start a lobby and get four people in less then a minute so something is definitally wrong.
-
Yah it's stupid. I can't really be bothered with rank.
The ranking system is broken and you'll get matched with people out of your league anyways so screw it really
-
U wat
-
Ugh. What a bunch of losers. Got carried by a red and act like they're top tier. You should blur them btw, i dont thinks allowed.
-
On ps4 it takes anywhere from 5-15+ minutes to find a lobby as survivor for me. So instead of staring at the screen the entire time i usually am on my phone or something.
But i try to keep an eye on it the best i can, because i can't stand waiting even a minute more after 15 already
-
Whoa, solid 32 even with the death? Even killer got one thats really wild. Hope this kind of stuff gets taken care. Ive been taken hostage and seen it happen to another once before but doubt anything came of it. but yeah thats some crazy farming they did.
-
Pretty interesting idea, ive thought it a few times. Wiggle is rare enough anyways.
-
My favorite is my "Santa" build. I bring in aces get free addons from chest searches perk, the chest locator perk, empathy or bond and a throwaway , usually self care.
I jump in a match, loot a chest, give the item away to a teammate if theyll take it and do it again. Its really fun and more relaxing then sweating over everything. Plus theres almost always a red item , occasionally two per match so why not.
-
My favorite is Myers , i love the idea of stealth and stalking. Nothing feels quiet as good as stalking someone from afar, or turning your camera as survivor to see him standing there watching you .
Ace because he's always got a big ass smile on his face regardless of the infinite loop of torture hes stuck in
-
The grind for new players is disgusting. The update is only improving bloodwebs on level 40+ characters so it doesn't change the beginning grind at all which is silly because the new chapter is going to bring in tons of new players and theyre all going to have to go through the same crappy grind like you.
Also it's not the best strategy to level a bunch of different killers at once. Just unlock the two or so most importnant perks you want and powerlevel one character and play him so you max bloodpoint gain. If you have a ton a perks that means the chance of say bbq showing is lowered because another perk can take its place in the bloodweb. I have all perks, and I prestiged my Michael and i got him all the way to 50 again without bbq showing back up on the bloodweb.
