This is something that I said on here last week. I play with Lethal Persuer and seeing where the survivors spawn can make me feel demoralised...when it's all 4 survivors spread out across the map. I might still end up winning that match (I use the term loosely because I'm not particularly bothered about winning or losing), but the negative feeling I had at the start can stay with me. I know that during one chase I have 3 survivors on separate gens, so I'm expecting them to pop instantly anyway at that point.
Yeah, I know that feeling.
My highest MMR is probably Nemesis and I can still win some games there, but I just don't have feeling like I have won and definetly didn't enjoy it. It's just too much stress during those games.

Survivors don't have to choose which killers they want to play against, so automatically while playing survivor you have to learn how to play against ALL killers with different powers and different addons. At the same time survivor is just a skin without any abilities, so you can pick 1 killer and master him without even touching others, because every game you play against the same opponent.
I can see your logic behind it, but it's not really true.
Learn how to play against a killer is usually way easier than learning how to play that killer.
It's like few simple rules for each killer. Break line of sight, predrop pallets, etc.
But easiest way? Hold W... That works against most killers.

Pphead's nerf(?) was good, since he could no longer just follow you until you either drop a pallet to get hit by M2, or run through to get hit by M1. Basically they gave survivors more counterplay, removed lose/lose situations, while actually buffing him in other part.
I think PH changes were good. You don't have free mindgame, but you can spam it more, which feels good to use.
Twins and DS were bad changes overall imo.

Unless you want to learn all killers at once, playing survivor requires more skill.
lol, since when?
just 1 is enough.

She was interesting to me st start, but then survivors found out that it is good idea to repel asap...

It's meant to say Boon: Exhaust All Options. I personally don't see how it could be broken as a boon.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2681257#Comment_2681257
If you use Sprint Burst or Dead Hard you'd need to loop around a Boon totem for 80 seconds for that perk to recover. So infinite dead hard is extremely extremely unlikely since you use it late into the chase. Plus you must stay near the totem.
Combine it with SWF, midwitch offering (range everywhere) and Vigil (lower CD)
I would see build something like, Vigil, fixated, Sprint Burst, Exhaust All Options
Then someone just uses map item, so everyone can find own totem fast and enjoy endless hold W suffering.
-
Problem is that they are kinda noob stompers, if you play against decent players, you are gonna suffer.
CoH is also quite annoying, it's just impossible to keep them injured and Legion is not really good with commiting on single survivor.
-
Oh, ######### no. That's like old Mettle of Man on steroids.
Combined with CoH? That would be so OP.
-
I doubt anyone would care if we got less killers / survivors per year. Just replace it with balance and bug fix patches and to get some money, they can focus on skins, easy...
-
Perk: Exhaust All Options
That would be so broken..

I bought her, played for a while to understand her build and playstyle, did not like it that much. She is fine I guess, but something about summoning her crows feels slow and unsatisfyingly boring to do. I say, it has been a long while since BHVR managed to create a killer that was fun to play for me. Plus I hate it that they just refuse to make killers that look scary for a game that is about horror and iconic horror characters.
Last killer I really enjoyed playing were Twins, but nerf and boons kinda ruined that for me.

You just gotta get good at predicting shots with her. It's very fun imo.
The verticality of maps can mess you up sometimes. But the birds can go up or down stairs or walls(if there's a window vault), the birds travel along the flight path and if you put the birds in the right spot they go up or down things.
I think they can go up/down only in that injure distance, so that can't be used on gens in distance, which is kinda half of her power.
-

Pre charge your power during the recovery period and you have enough time to drop and fire mutiple crows for a hit.
First hit needs to be from single crow and I think you have time to use 2 crows for second hit, you can use more with addons.
Problem is that she is really map dependant. Her power drops a lot in value on multi-layer maps, or just maps with verticality in terrain like Swamp, because you can't cower that many gens. It's also annoying play her on maps where it's easy to break line of sight, that makes it quite hard to get second hit, so you often just waste your time.
I mean, go for it if you enjoy playing her, but she is not really for me. Damn, I miss Deathslinger...
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
I faced like 3 or 4 of them yesterday in a 2 hour survivor play session.
As for her being unpopular, she's yet another 115% anti-loop no mobility killer. Since Slinger, every killer except Blight and Twins have had this power design, so of course people are getting a bit bored of it.
That nerf to twins and now boons are annoying. I actually liked playing Twins a lot. They need some QoL and skins imo.
-
She was fun at start, when survivors didn't know what to do, but now?
You have like a second window to get second hit and using multiple crows is useless, if they just repel asap...

Oh, no. Exponential has insane potential and has saved my life. It's the weakest of the 3, but by no means bad. I just think Unbreakable, which isn't limited by being a boon, is better.
It's SWF perk, I mean if you can get time for it with flashlights around and you have multiple boons active, it's quite annoying to deal with.

Honestly I pretty much exclusively play survivor now because high MMR is disgusting as killer. Obviously you've never had a team of 3 survivors perfectly rotate protection hits so that the first person is back with their dead hard. Must be that dunning kruger effect on ya my man.
It wasn't that broken before CoH, but when they have free heal and do it again, it's just so annoying.

I almost want to say that dealing with toxic SWF as killer is less stressful at times than having awful solo queue teammates. I just get feelings of envy and frustration, knowing how easy we could have it as survivor but my teammates give every advantage and misplay possible to the killer on a silver platter.
Oh, I know this feeling.
Whenever teammate doesn't commit to gen and killer get free pop instead...
Or get downed under 30 seconds...
Still better experience than killers can be tho. Sadly I don't get players like this that often.
Some killers got just unenjoyable for me, I miss resets.

It sometimes does...
but they are usually just trying to make game last longer and have a chance to win.

Pinhead has RNG, especially if you are going for the 'find the box first' gimmick with LP. But it's not overwhelming unless survivors misplay and you are able to chain hunts together. He also has a lot of map dependency - certain maps turn him into essentially an M1 killer.
Pig's RNG is worse, as with certain addons a match can be a 3k within 5 minutes of starting or a 4-out depending entirely on where boxes spawn and which ones survivors go to first. It's unfun to play and play against.
I would argue about unfun to play.
I enjoy watching survivor's head explode.
-
Well, can't say it's good idea for the game, but it works for sure...

Pinhead feels like more RNG than pig for me...

They probably don't differentiate between ground level and raised structure so I assume it would get confused and break something. It'd likely necessitate working on each and every map. Remember dead dawg and RPD recently. Took months . . .
Which map is gone for 2 months first? Would you rather disable the artist entirely?
I don't think it is that broken for need to be disabled, you still can play on those map, it's worse, but possible.
but it would be definetly something to fix imo.

@Fantasy said:
I play her fine without it, it might push her over the edge and make her overperform if they did this. I think using verticality is fair counterplay. She's still very strong.
That's not really counterplay.
I think this is more like a bug, because you were able to use crow on basement stairs etc. on PTB.
I don't think you should be able to control it (aim up/down), but it should 100% copy terrain.

why would I ever have such jokes in the game?
its a joke and its meant to stay as a joke as the persone above me just said
That is actually suggested a lot to help soloQ.
By it, they mean only survivor aura reading part, killer part would stay with a perk.
Thing is that this is information that is easily shared by SWF ->who will go for unhook. SoloQ doesn't know that, so they either have noone or multiple survivors running for unhooking.

Sure, just make sure to make the killer to run as fast as survivors and remove their powers.
Toxic people are going to be toxic no matter what. I don't know why, perhaps their parents didn't show them enough love. I used to wait for the killer to come to the door so I can leave them my item, if I had one, as a way to say gg, but a killer pointed out that it's still annoying and better that I just leave. So now, I just wait to make sure no one gets downed and needs rescuing. If I see the whole team and they stop to t-bag, I leave and hope the killer has NoEd and he somehow manages to get one before they get too close to the exit.
"make the killer to run as fast as survivors and remove their powers."
Nah, you would need 16 perks for that...
Just you are saying there are perks for everything, but I can use 4... I have no idea how survivors are going to play, they do.

That just means you are bad. I have played a lot of killer and almost never had a chase last 45 seconds. If you are good there is never a reason to camp.
That's the biggest BS I have ever seen.
never had 45 seconds chase? Yeah, BS.
Chase should never be less than 20 seconds and that is just time from first hit and second hit, where survivor is holding W, not looping, no pallets, just W.
It's 40 seconds minimum with Overcome, enjoy.
Or you have never played M1 killer, but from your post I highly doubt you are god Nurse main.
-
I did it, but not really for value.
I just let them destroy all totems and then I run around a map to rekindle all of them :D
But boons just counter that perk too much to be viable...
-
@Huge_Bush said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2677803#Comment_2677803
Playing the game and using the perks provided by the game is not being toxic. Sure, body blocking, getting blinded in multiple ways, having the hook you're going to get sabo'd and having the unhooked person body block with BT active on them when you're obviously going for someone else is annoying/frustrating, but none of that is toxic. They all have counters. Starstruck will completely remove body blocking from your games. Make Your Choice will help to a lesser extent as well. Lightborn is fantastic when you see multiple flashlights in a lobby, it's even better if you turn your face to the side when they try to blind you so they don't suspect you have it and keep them wasting time.
While I do think killers need some love, mainly in tile design and maps (they need to shrink some of the huge ones), your complaints are not that big of a deal. Really, just running Lightborn or Franklins seems like it would fix half of your problems.
The only thing toxic survivors can do is t-bag, point after they pallet stun you, wait at the gate in order to just waste your time and then t-bag you when you get there, or hide and not do gens (holding the game hostage) and send you nasty comments in the chat.
Alright, so let killer have 8 perks and we are fine...
I had so many survivors waiting near exit gate just to leave when I get there, so annyoing. Like why? Thing is that they are not even toxic in endgame chat, it's just reflex or IDK.
-
Kinda funny is that I had a lot of fun with Artist, but I think it's not because of Artist, it's just because of lower MMR.
My probably highest MMR is Nemesis and I can get 4k there sometimes, problem is those games, even when I "win" I definetly don't have feeling like I won. It's just stressful af to play there.
and like what am I supposed to do with it? Start auto-cliker and have afk games to lower MMR? People that say just stop playing "sweaty" are really annoying me. You don't really have to play sweaty to get that high.
My main issue is not that they are good, I used to love to play against good survivors, but CoH allow them to go for protective hits a lot over and over again. Like ######### am I supposed to do with that? Nemesis is not good for that. Before it was fine, you hit them and they will have to waste time searching for someone to heal, but that doesn't work with CoH when everyone can heal alone.
I think tunneling is boring and I just loved to play hit&run tactic, just spreading injuries for snowball, but it just doesn't work against CoH. Have anyone found alternative other than tunneling?

I had thought everything being so OP for once was because of people leaving BHVR, allowing for fresh blood to shake up the meta. I hope these trends continue personally, we got some updates that the community really wanted, new OP stuff to shake up the boring, boring meta with no balance teams to listen to the forums whining about new things that they have to learn to deal with... things are great right now.
Where is broken killer perk to balance it?

@jesterkind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2677392#Comment_2677392
Not quite true- it is viable, just in niche builds and with a bit of luck.
I feel as though at least some people think the perk is genuinely, literally useless, so they're looking to buff it massively, when it's actually quite strong when it gets to work- and you can get it to work with a little dedication. It'll need either QoL, or just to have blessing be less attractive over cleansing through some basekit mechanics changes.
It can be decent with Plaything etc., but it is literally useless against boons.
-
@jesterkind said:
I'm not sure whether I like being able to bring a perk that hardcore shuts down survivors quite like that. I'm sure there are other examples of that general concept, but this feels far more extreme.
I do think that rekindled hexes shouldn't be viable for blessing, that part seems fair. As for rekindling blessed totems... I don't know that it makes much thematic or balancing sense, to be honest.
It would just switch.
Right now that perk is not viable, because of boons.
-
That would mean there is counter to boons and that is not allowed.

it doesnt change the thing that you have to move to the other side of the map. its downside is that it takes 14 seconds to active and its bound to a place.
14 seconds is way more than worth it for this effect.
Just try to compare it with other healing perks. Those are trash compare to it.
Don't act like 14 seconds is a lot, even if you use it just for yourself it's better than Self-care, or Inner Healing, but it's for your whole team.
It's not really true that they always have to travel, you decide where it will be, there are some broken spawns inside main buildings.
-
Any with low MMR

there shouldnt be any downside, using perk slot is already enough, its like bringing an hex but your killer has more cd on his spell or walks slower. whats the downside of borrowed time? whats the downside of ruin? perks are by definition additions, if you want them to have downsides yuo have to redesign all perks cause the only downside perks have now is "wasting" a slot for a better perk or having a bad sinergy
It would be fine, if CoH would work only for owner, but it doesn't.
That's why it is nowhere near enough...
You really want to tell me hex doesn't have downside? Like: it's gone in first 30 seconds...

The Totem spawns are bad as they seem to be designed with boons in mind aka made easy to find and reach for the killer to play against boons...
This sadly also makes hexes effectively worthless on the map.
Until boons are properly address I fully expect totem spawns to keep on getting worse and worse just to try to make boons remotely fair.
it doesn't really help a killer in any way. It also kinda negates the fact that you can hear them -> it doesn't matter when you can already see them.
They made some cool totem spawns before, where killer can reach, but they are not visible...
This just sucks.
