So why did they make her a 115% and not slinger/ trickster/ huntress? When you compare ranged killers with the same kind of range (nemesis and pyramid head are short ranged killers) that doesn't make much sense in my opinion.

Plague has decent range and again Nurse, Spirit are not even ranged but they deserve reduced movement speed.

Huntress is most likely from all of them to get long range hits. So I would say it is deserved for her.

I don't think it is deserved for Deathslinger at all since he got bigger TR, his range is limited, his downs are not even guaranteed and he just have more limitations compare to other ranged killers.

I am not sure about Trickster, he can get really fast downs on short range, some loops are just useless against him, when he can throw knives over it. I would say it is deserved, but it is close...

If you're coherent with the game design, the Artist should be a 110% when you compare her to other killers. But i don't like 110%, i'd rather have them all being turned into 115%. I don't like what's not coherent. You should always follow the rules you designed, or just not set them to begin with.

You already have ranged killers that are 115%, so it's not really incoherent this way.

It's not about just ranged killers. Nurse is 96.25% and Spirit is 110%.

You can easily argue that some killers who are 110% should be 115% I can agree with that. Deathslinger is main candidate for it. They have done it in past, Legion for example used to be 110%.

If you read my post entirely you'd see that i was not criticizing the artist being a 115% in itself... but the fact that other weaker killers are 110%; and that i think that making a killer a 110% doesn't look necessary to me.

Even when I read it again and I didn't understand this from it. It sounded more like you want Artist to be 110% to be honest, but if you mean it this way, then sure.

Deathslinger should be 115% with his bigger TR, but it wouldn't save him imo. My main issue with him is ADS mechanic, it just feels terrible to use for me. I play FPS games a lot and this just feels super clumsy for me. Main problem is that it is just slow, so it is hard to use on closer range, but projectile is also slow, so it is hard to use on long range too and worst is that you don't even have guaranteed down from it, they can get blocked by teammate, stuck on some object, over pallet etc.

Well, that turned to why Deathslinger sucks... my bad

Huntress should stay 110% imo, but it would be interesting to test if she would overperform as 115%. I am not sure about Trickster, he is quite decent after all those buffs and I enjoy playing him.

Huntress zoning is really good, so it might an issue, but hard to tell without testing. I wish they would test things like this more, it should not really be hard to implement. Just keep it for a month, see results and either keep it or change it back.

Don’t worry. At low ranks killer is easy as hell. Soon you 4k every game.

Yeah and then soon you will start losing again, what is your point?

Also that worked with old rank system, because old players just weren't in low rank. But it is 100% possible and quite easy to stay in low MMR for both sides.

  • @Faulds said:

I thought that a killer that had a big range attack or a very strong power in general was turned into a 110% to make it more "fair". But why is the Artist a 115% then? Deathslinger/ Trickster aren't that powerful, and they are 110%: unlike the new killer. Why not let all killers be 115% anyway then?

Plague is 115%, Pyramid head too.

Let's be honest, if you got injured on long distance against her, it's 100% on you. It should never happen.

Then we have Deathslinger, 110% with normal TR...

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2701760#Comment_2701760

That’s actually a good idea. To just hide both names.

I would be fine with that, I usually watch second monitor anyway :D as long you can see what items they have, it would be fine.

I would also remove last second switch option to be honest, it is annoying. When it is looking like good lobby and they switch to 4x same items in last second...

But showing killer's name would be really bad.

  • You don't really need SWF to get destroyed. Just 4 decent survivors who know how to hold m1 and hold W...

You can kinda guess your MMR based on playtime of players you are playing against. It's not good way, but best we have.

I think it works at least for me. When I play killers where I try to keep MMR low (Pig, Legion), I see usually around 500 hours, then I have Nemesis, Blight and Oni where I see around 3k.

  • @altenaut said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2701731#Comment_2701731

Killers can already do all those things too. They can check gameplay and hours, while choosing to lobby dodge.

I don’t care about hours, I don’t want to deal with killers who bully for fun.

Yeah, but all survivors are same. What will it give me?

All I can find out is playtime and maybe perks of one survivor, if it is streamer, but it doesn't change much and killers are more likely to go easy on survivors than survivors go easy on killers in my experience.

If you could find out what killer you are playing against, you are going to win and it would be really easy. Some killers are just countered too much by some perks / items. Do you really think that is same? I wouldn't mind hiding names in lobby for both sides instead.

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

Isnt this game supposed to be really killer sided if you're a new player? Sure if you're an amazing player then yeh itll be survivor sided, but 8 days in? Unless your friends are all amazing playere who carried you completely I guess...

What have friends to do with this?

Problem is MMR, before it was actually hard to stay as rank 20, so you can bully new players.

Right now, when you gain MMR only by escaping? It's easy to stay low, so it's possible for him to play against way better players he is not supposed to play against.

MMR just makes seal clubbing really easy to do.

Also before match-making was based on highest rank in SWF, now it is average MMR.

  • You can't really prevent it, I can search for it via steam anyway.

It would also make stream sniping super easy. You can see Otz for example to try and cover survivor's names, so they can't easily stream snipe him, but that could not prevented if they could see his name in lobby.

Also ttvs would get super #########, I see ttv as a killer, watch stream fast, hey it's wraith, let's get 4x flashlight, hey it's Twins, 4x Exponential etc.

most killers have some perk related counter-play and it would be super broken if you could find out what killer are you against. Stealth killer? 4x spine chill, enjoy.

Even your reason: I have seen that player! You know what he played last game and there is high chance he is playing it again.

  • @altenaut said:

In survivor lobbies, it would be helpful if survivors could see the gamer tag of the killer. Not what killer they’re playing, just the gamer tag of the player.

I hate having games where I’m playing against the same killer from the match before and they have a personal vendetta against me because I escaped or something like that and give every other survivor special treatment while bullying me the whole time slugging me for a long as possible, trapping me in corners, picking me up, dropping me, and downing me in a loop over and over and the survivors can’t help me even if they try.

It would be nice to at least see the gamer tag so if it’s the same person who abused the game and held me hostage, then I can leave the lobby instead of having to go through it again.

I am not sure it is good thing. You could see their profile and play time.

Let's be honest, do you think survivors would go easy, if they saw a killer with less than 100 hours? No, they are going to bring some sabo / headon squad to bully the ######### out of him.

They would start dodging lobbies instead. Yeah, I got a killer with more hours than I do? ######### it, I am out of here...

I don't think this would bring anything good to the game.

  • "Winning at this game is like trying to win an argument against a psychopath, you can't truly win because the survivors aren't playing the game, they're playing YOU.... sure you killed them all but at what cost? Your mental health?"

    1) Lmfao there’s no way that would happen unless the killer is playing blindfolded. Please stop reaching for absurd reasons against it.

    2) Of course you go in missed attack cooldown, you missed an attack so what do you expect?

    https://youtu.be/nzxxxQ5KlaE

I didn't really miss that attack. I have lowest ping in most of my lobbies (usually under 30ms), so it is not my fault we see different things.

And you really think it doesn't affect gameplay? You can't be that dumb...

Any validation makes chase longer -> gives more time to survivors working on gens. I have lost a lot of games, just because I got validated multiple time. Sorry, but it's just not good to lose, because of survivor's ping. That has nothing to do with my skill. I can take a loss when I made a mistake, but this is not the case.

What validation caused is survivor can wait if killer is going to respect pallet or not and get either free stun, or more loops. Well, validation and vacuum allows this. Which I don't think is good, you should decide if you drop it or not from start, it's just dumb that you can just watch a killer and chose 100% correct. There is no mind game on pallets with this.

They should 100% add validation to vaults too. You make it sound like that isn’t how games are meant to be lol.

I know people won’t like this because it’s fine for things to mess up survivors 50 times a game but 1 thing against killers and the forum army gets deployed

    LoL, no..

We could get validation for flashlight saves, how many times have you seen killer actually turned around, but got blinded anyway?

Doc could get validation to actually stop survivors, I have seen them many times not giving ######### about my power and just vaulting / drop pallet anyway.

or actually fix those ######### grabs.

I would love to see survivors getting their actions validated, but I guess that is just a killer's thing...

Validation is really frustrating to deal with. It's just annoying to lose game, because I got validated multiple times when I have lowest ping in the lobby.

Not really because I am going to watch it while playing to get easy game, but I like watching recording after the game to see some of their reactions.

  • My main reason I play less and less is validation.

Oh I see so probably what you do is you use the fun version for blood point events and whenever you're trying to build up blood points for a specific goal and the other version is probably your normal version the try-hard version. Spirit fury/enduring is really helpful when farming that's for sure plus you don't waste all that time waiting for a stun and some free pallet breaks on top!

Dude I have to say I absolutely love your name @sluzzy_but_correct

What build do you usually run on him when you're farming? I'm just curious, right now my BP character is Nemesis mostly because he has like 50 of those anniversary cakes still from the last anniversary lol. But Ive went through periods where I've used legion and sometimes doc as my BP farmers. Was also half tempted to build up wraith a little for BP farming but eh didn't feel like farming..to make a BP farmer xD

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2701172#Comment_2701172

Well I guess I'll ask you too what do you like running on wraith when you farm with them? And yeah that bell definitely helps with farming if you choose to farm that hard or show away of being friendly when there's like two survs left.

    I have two builds:

Fun version: BBQ, Pop, Enduring, Spirit fury

Tryhard version: BBQ, Surge, Pain Resonance, Ruin

  • If you mean character, not really. Well, Jeff usually gets free escape...

Actions? Yeah, those can kill you really fast.

if I see you teabag after each pallet stun, you will die. If I hear flashlight macro, you will never get from that hook, if I can stop it.

  • I like Legion for farming, quite easy to get max BP each game, unless they gen rush the ######### out of you, but happens...

If corrupt helps with that, why shouldn't it help against 4 survivors spawning splitted?

I think we should not get perks into this discussion, as they are explicitly designed to deal with these situations. If there is a problem, we need to look at the vanilla setting. I also think it is bad if survivors ALWAYS spawned at the same situation. Because this "if you find them, great value" thing is still an IF which means like 50% of your games start with a 4 gen setup.

Regarding the loss of 2-3 gens with splitted survivors is also arguable, because with 4 different locations it is most likely to chase the first survivor into the second, working on a gen, pretty quickly. So you got 2 survivors in chase. Especially on killers that can spread damage quickly this is also in favor of the killer if it happens.

I think there are offerings to force spawning, to bring some variety which is good in my opinion, so there should not be a default way to always start the same game (kinda). I think they should just rework spawn locations, so that a bunch of survivors is not always starting directly at a gen. Corrupt already shows how much kickstart the killer can get when survivors are forced to run around the map for 20 seconds to find a free gen. If default is 1 second, then there is the problem, not in the spawn team size, as there are arguments on both scenarios if it is good or bad.

But I also know that spawning logic isn't the easiest to do. As we can already see with "starting next to ruin". If gens decrease possible survivor spawns as well, there is not much space left

That's easy: when survivor spawn on different gen, you are going to have a survivor, or two that spawn next to an open gen, which kinda negates corrupt, because this reduces time you gain from that one time effect.

  • @BenZ0 said:

After 6k hours of the playing the same game I do get abit bored since nothing major has changed over the time.

Yes DS is finally nerfed, Coop repair speed is slowed down, you have more and better anti gen perks but the same issue is there since 5 ######### YEARS.

This example applies ONLY to high MMR and good players:

The first hook will take you always, every single time up to 3-4 gens. Every survivor runs full stacked meta perks with insane purple med kits that can heal them up in under 20 seconds. There is no way you can build up some decent pressure. The objective of the survivors is already almost done but you just started with yours. Now you have to struggle for your life and play pin point perfect to keep up your little pressure with this 1 single hook you get, if you make 1 mistake the game is lost immidiatly.

Now keep in mind that this is an example against a very high skilled swf team and I am aware that you dont face those teams every game. However you CAN face them regardless of which Killer you play and I am not a person who enjoys playing the same Killers over and over. I am someone who switches up the perk builds or Killers to try out new interesting things and THEN when you encounter such a team as lets say a Nemesis with Coupe de Grace then you have very very low chances of winning and this game is already over the second you load in.

Yes you can tell yourself "well they where prepared to win and you where not, load up the next game and lets go". But this is not my point, the thing that annoys me about this is that those teams are a garuanteed loss to you UNLESS you play also fully sweaty with a meta Killer and insane addons.

Also I am someone naturally who is pretty good in games, also in Dead by Daylight so I have a very high MMR on every single Killer, so my chances to meet those teams are way higher than from a regular person. This is the problem I have, I understand that I should face sweaty teams cuz I am sweaty myself but I dont want to tryhard and sweat every single game, I also want to play chilled sometimes which the MMR denies me that so therefore I stopp playing Killer and currently I am playing 7 days to die, its a great game btw the new alpha 20 patch is hella fun, you should go try it out.

What would be a simple solution? Ranked mode

Ranked mode wouldn't really fix anything.

It would work if they create some crazy rewards to make people want to be sweaty there.

You think SWF that want to bully killer, would go for ranked? No.

But I don't think it is good idea to create new modes. Just waste of time that can be used better. You can't really get away with this in Asymmetrical game. You need exact ratio of killers and survivors, which could be screwed by new modes. Lobby queue can already get crazy enough.

  • SBMM, CoH, undeserved nerfs (Wraith, Deathslinger), validation.

This game just got too stressful for me to play it for multiple hours a day as a killer.

But main reason is usually validation, nothing can piss me off as much as losing game, because I got validated multiple times in one game with 30 ms ping.

  • @FFirebrandd said:

If I may, that can actually backfire as well. Let me tell you, losing a gen before you've even started your first chase because you guessed wrong on where literally all the survivors spawned is not a good feeling.

Losing 3 gens after first chase, where you couldn't do anything about it is not a good feeling.

If everyone spawned same on other side of the map, you can guess quite well where to go. Problem is with big maps, where survivors with toolboxes would be able to finish that gen, before you can even get there, but they already can do it.

Corrupt would help a lot against that, Lethal Pursuer too. With ruin? if you secure that gen, all time of 4 survivors was wasted.

I think it would be way better system, but they just like that RNG system too much...

  • @kaskader said:

It's sad to see that only him and nurse can compete at the highest mmr. If they nerf blight then enjoy nurse in every match if they nerf nurse enjoy empty lobby. Survivor mains needs to start using their brain really.

Not really, Nurse is just hard AF to even start playing her.

Blight is still hard af, but you can play him at decent level way easier than Nurse.

Spirit is kinda rare, because you need good headset.

Probably most popular killer after Blight nerf would be either Oni, or Plague. Huntress is already played a lot, because she is free...

  • Don't cleanse as long as you can't, then when there is someone on dead hook, everyone should start cleansing like crazy.

It kinda doesn't matter what you choose, both ways are valid, but most important thing: everyone should choose the same.

It just can't happen that 1 survivor cleanse and 3 don't. If you are SWF with random? Don't cleanse, till random does. That usually works.

  • @BenZ0 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2698510#Comment_2698510

I mean you are right but you forgot 1 important point. Sloppy applies only on basic m1 hits. Killers like Blight, Huntress etc cant get that effect as easy as you say. So therefore you got gift of pain.

Sure its not the super meta perk of this year but its a new sloppy version which is a nice idea. Its not like this perk is making you lose this game or something so I dont mind it at all, there are far more useless perks then that.

That's true, but just because there are worse perks, it doesn't mean that this is good perk.

Sloppy is limited even more that it is suited more for a killers that don't often commit to their chases, like Wraith, or Hag. Problem is that CoH doesn't care.

  • @Impartiality said:

The only real use is to dead hard for distance to make it to a pallet or window.

    Anything else is pointless

Tell that to Blight, Oni, Nurse and probably some other killers.

But yeah, it's mainly for distance.

You can get greedy and get extra loops because of it, even when killer doesn't respect pallet.

  • @BenZ0 said:

what makes you think this perk is bad lol? Its a sloppy effect for free plus gen speed recution

That's easy, I don't think Sloppy is good perk neither.

And sloppy needs just a hit, doesn't matter if that survivor leaves chase, so you are going to use it way more than gift of pain. I would say on average, sloppy is going to give you more time than gift of pain.

You don't need to care about RNG hooks with Sloppy, you can use basement hook with sloppy, you can leave a chase with sloppy after first hit.

Main issue is, there are two ways how to deal with gift of pain and both are way easier because of CoH. When survivor self-heal, only his extra time is wasted, so already 50% down, after he healed, just go for protective hit, this way you can waste killer's time and you remove slow-gen effect, then you are free to self-heal again.

  • @dugman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2696327#Comment_2696327

Wait, which is it? Are they refusing to heal to make it “useless” or are they healing and then intentionally getting reinjured? It’s not both,

Also I think the RNG concern is exaggerated, I only rarely can’t reach a Scourge Hook, especially when all four are still up prior to killing someone on them.

There are two ways how survivors can counter that perk. Either don't heal at all, or go for protective hits asap after healing. CoH helps with both ways.

It's probably better to use Sloppy, no RNG there. I don't think Sloppy is good neither.

RNG is an issue, I have been using Pain Resonance quite a lot, thing is it depends on map a lot.

Dead Dawg Saloon? Yeah, it will be rare to get screwed by RNG.

Raccoon City Police Station, Midwich Elementary School (multiple floors),

Mother's Dwelling, Azarov's Resting Place (huge maps)? Yeah, it will happen often.

Because solo is hell. Solo survivor is the hardest thing to play in this game. Killer comes next.

    Depends what is your MMR.

I really wouldn't want to be new and play soloQ, but if you get high enough as SWF, then you can actually play soloQ and it's not that painful.

  • Ah #########, here we go again.

Leatherface can kill survivors in snowman, oh no, so broken...

Yeah, then you can go play Twins, ghostface, or billy.

  • Yeah, we will have to wait for that like 1-2 years.

Thing is: from what I have seen, they really don't like to acknowledge any mistakes. So when they change something, even if it is terrible, they keep it that way and it usually takes a long time to get any changes.

Only exception I can think of was HUD change, but even that was kept, they just changed it, so it's not that bad. Thing is, that was done because it pissed off everyone.

Single killer sucks, because of their changes? Not enough people for them to care.

  • @kazoie1 said:

I mean as always it depends on what your using it for. I like it as a little anti-heal/gen that I can stack on my legion with the artist hook perk

  • No, that perk is really bad.

-you can get screwed by RNG and just have all hooks on one side of the map.

-if survivor doesn't heal, it's just useless perk.

-it encourages survivors to go for protective hits, so they remove their slow and that is something you really don't wanna as a killer, if they have CoH and let's be honest, you have CoH almost every game.

Thats a better use of your time honestly <3.

This works only when survivor is inside deadzone.

You can still use it for distance, which is how most survivors use it and there is nothing killer can do about it and it is really annoying for many killers. Mainly, Blight and Nurse....

    You love to see it.

    Sorry, I tried my best...

    • FYI they currently usually do a balance pass about three months after a character releases, presumably because they want time to gather data and let the meta around a new character stabilize a bit. So we’ll probably see a Mikaela balance patch in the next midchapter patch in January or so would be my guess, including her Boons
    • When you complain about “Boons” I’m assuming you’re just complaining about Circle of Healing since the consensus seems to be that’s the overpowered one and not nearly as many people complain about Shadowstep or Exponential. It’s important to distinguish between them as individual perks because the Boon system as a whole seems fine, the imbalance is essentially exclusive the one perk Circle of Healing that should probably have its healing speed reduced.

Isn't kinda funny that CoH is for every other survivors too, but blessing + healing is still faster than self-care?

Most annoying thing about CoH for me is that everyone can self-heal, but yeah it's 100% BS with medkit.

Play Leatherface, Trickster, Pyramid head if you have a problem with that.

A lot of people playing this game super casually not carrying about the outcome of the match. Or just stop playing until the event is over. This is the better idea I think. Bye.

    Really?

Twins are not really good killer anymore, so it definetly counts as casual killer. I don't care about the outcome, but I want to enjoy it and survivors having invincible option against my power is not really fun, is it?

So let's just play completely different killer, with completely different power and playstyle to fix this issue. Damn, that's so dumb...

This game also for some reason gives people a big head like they think they're the best to ever do it or the first to ever try something, I hate that about this game once you play for so long you no longer care about that stuff but it's super annoying because everyone has an excuse or an attitude about a perk or strategy they lost against in their mind they played perfect and the game is broken not anything they could've done and being unable to accept a loss is absolutely ridiculous, I 4kd as wraith yesterday I was running serpent and shadow dance add ONS and they said wraith was cheap and op and that I need to get good and play a different killer, I'm already one of the lower tier killers what more do they want? Should I do the gens too so they can feel like they're a god at the game? Then they went on to say I was bad when only 3 gens were completed when they died, I use to enjoy the salt but now sore losers just get on my nerves.

Yeah, it's annoying when it's not actually salt, but they are just that dumb...

I will tell you in a different way, I'm using apex legends as an example.

Before this current update if you hated the Lstar and Eva you can just pick it up and use them, unlike dbd where it tends to be different stuff all around.

Before in like 2018 there were community rules like no infinite abuse and such, people actually sandbag survivors who were abusing broken stuff, not anymore

We have done similar things before Evolve died for good. I miss that game...

That's kinda a thing when you keep playing with same people over and over again, we just learned players abusing broken stuff and well, we did same :D
