You're still depipping, but bans were disabled because of people finding ways to ban streamers. I know Tru3 and Zubat got banned. Of course they're back now though.

OP no. This is a much needed change. The VPNing has to stop. Also you shouldn't be 10 feet from a killer and get hit by a melee M1.
Getting hit from far away is either your ping or the servers dying which can be seen when a killer swings where you stood several seconds ago.
-
@PrettyFaceKate said:
That's not how it works. Hits are validated killer-side now. If you're swinging through survivors, it's not because of their connection. It doesn't work that way. You simply missed, or you are exaggerating. And let's not pretend Huntress hits are fair right now.
As for server validation, they have already stated there's a margin of tolerance. If that's true, then it won't affect killers with good ping.
The hit problems I'm mentioning are going to become an issue with server validation because lagging survivors will no longer take damage. Grabs will be fixed, but hits will be made worse.
For Huntress, it's not her hatchets, it's dedicated servers. I'm fine with the hitboxes being fixed, but most hatchets have no collision. Needle sized hatchets that are 50/50 on whether they have collision or not will make her a bad killer.
I play Huntress on console, and this is going to make her near impossible.

Lets not forget that pro surv strat, which is exploiting the lunge in order to make it miss.
It's especially annoying as Legion because I'll hold for a lunge but only swipe, wasting 4 seconds of time. Legion's cooldown is practically the same as getting DSd.

Does anyone remember the first PTB version of dedicated servers? Those had server side hits and they was HORRIBLE. Attacks as Killer would be extremely inconsistent. Id land attacks I had NO right to land (swinging late and hitting the air behind them) and miss attacks that should have been certain. Attacks would also land upwards of half a second AFTER the fact. When the Killer is saying he landed bad hits, something ######### up.
That was a 160 ping if I recall.
DbD was not made with dedicated servers in mind. Forcing them in after the fact is only doing more harm than good. Just look at how many Killer powers flat out broke after servers was added. Look at how many things are STILL JANK today thanks to servers! If you think making damage server side is gonna do good, then you have no idea what you are talking about.
The point of the post is to detail how it will fail. Anything doing with dedicated servers or altercations are terrible.

@Squirrel_Thicc said:
So... you only care about how broken hitboxes when they effect you? Survivors have been dealing with horrible hitboxes for years and you had nothing to say, but the second that they try to balance them you complain that "it's gonna be bad for killers". What you're saying that you want hitboxes to be awful for survivors because you want easier matches.
This is when I pull the survivor main card. I play killer when survivor gets boring, which is fast.
-
@Aneurysm said:
I'll wait and see how it is. But as much as I despise getting dedicated hits as survivor I think if I ever have my weapon go through a survivor and do nothing I'm done.
It can already happen. A survivor will be medium or slow vaulting a window and I'll swing and miss.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
I think it will not affect normal gameplay that much, but will get rid of VPNing. There will most likely still be Hits which look odd, but it is what it is.
Normal ping will look fine, but bad ping is going to be a pain. There needs to several servers for a single country. As an east coast player I shouldn't wait 1 minute to get into a match with a west coast killer.

@YaiPa said:
people said the same thing when dedicated servers were about to come out.
Dedicated servers made the game worse, not better. No lagswitching is all that really came out of it.

Apart from the fact that billy was 100% fine, the devs said they want to increase the skillcap of billy's chainsaw with resource management. Guess what, very skilled billy's use both engravings to curve loops. Against good players they need to keep their chainsaw revd for a few seconds to bait. To do this they need to use some new addons instead of engravings.
So bye to really skilled billys and hello to SF+Enduring crap billys. Well done!
The devs are just gutting all of the fun killers to play as and against. Then they buff every boring killer and make them lame af on both sides. I really wouldn't be surprised if they fu-ck Oni next.

Hold on, are they changing Spirit or Freddy? If yes, please tell me because I didn't know!
No. The issue is that they aren't changing either of them. They're nerfing a balanced killer before nerfing the unbalanced killers.
-
The only issues I find are how Billy didn't need nerfed in the first place, and how he's being nerfed before anything has been mentioned about Spirit and Freddy.

Equipping BBQ and Pop is now considered "Forever freddy" as well? I can agree you call it this way when he uses Pop, Thana, Dying Light and two Slowdown Addons. But if it's just pop, it's hardly different then every other killer using pop, except that he's faster on a gen.
The Thana build that I typed out is "Forever Freddy." Discordance to get survs off gen for Ruin to proc and everything else to mame the game last as long as possible due to slowed repair and healing speeds.

That is the "usual" build? I highly doubt it. BBQ and Pop works best onn Freddy. Ruin+Surveillance works pretty good as well. I never equip Thana or dying light on him.
That's "Forever Freddy" which 9 out of 10 times is what you'll go against.

That moment when a dev comments on your post. Happy.
It's a post pointing out their bad decisions. As Tru3 says... Oh shi-

The perk needs to be distance based rather than inside of the killer's terror radius. Killers like Freddy, Pig, Michael, and GF can all camp due to having the ability to suppress their terror radius. Make it activate at 32 meters from the killer. Done.

@RakimSockem said:
I don't use either and prefer Lithe if I'm going to use an exhaustion perk.
Sprint burst is annoying because you can't fully control when it's used and I see some many sprint burst players walking around the map while i'm on hook and I end up struggling because they want to save their precious sprint burst 🙃
Dead hard is just too unreliable with the servers. Half the time it doesn't work, and then sometimes you'll become exhausted (meaning it should have worked) and still end up on the ground. Also once the killer knows you have it, they just wait for you to use it and then punish you immediately.
Of course Lithe as the downside of needing a window or pallet to use, but the only time I need distance usually is in a chase so that's when I need it. It helps me extend the killer shack loop sometimes too if the killer forces me around the unsafe door. I control when I use it and it's consistent unlike Dead Hard
My favorite exhaustion perk is Balanced Landing due to the stealth aspect of it, but both it and Lithe are far too map reliant.

wrong swf is better than most killers not solo players, these survivors are dumb as bricks
You're kind of just proving my point that the game is oriented to favor survivors.
-
Dwight for survivor since he isn't overrated and repetitive to see like Meg, Claudette, and Kate.
Huntress for killer since she has the best ranged attack and the highest potential to end chases against healthy, non exposed survivors.

word so every killer can dominate new survivors and make it miserable for them instead, yes great idea
If you are playing as a new killer, you're going to try to learn them rather than dominate. Survivors have it easy enough anyways. Even the killer sided maps aren't bad for survivors. They're all indoor, and indoor maps have way closer pallet spawns than outdoor maps, save Ormond.

Sprint burst when you get caught out of position.
Dead hard when you want an outplay eraser.
You can be like the cool kids and use them both.

Bond is regarded as the superior perk due to not having any limitations or requirements.
It's a perk that lets you see survivor auras from 44 meters max without them having to be injured. Aftercare is great too, but it's only valuable at tiers 2 and 3, and the reset function really lets the perk down.

OoO isn't even the worst part about this map. If you have enough distance, you can literally run a loop around the school for minutes at a time against 110% killers due to the square shape.

There is a reason DH is frequently used by good survivors. It's because they know how powerful the perk is.
It's extremely powerful as long as it works. Dedicated servers are a big issue for the perk however. That's the largest con of using it. It's almost a 50/50 chance if it even works.
-
@Mister_Holdout said:
I'm a DH user myself.
The main benefit of using DH is it can save your skin at loops. Not to mention, you can dodge things like hatchets, spears, Nurse blinks ect.
They're both good exhaustion perks though.
DH is very popular in my rank 1 games (and for good reason).
I use both perks regularly, but the pros of Dead Hard aren't enough to outweigh the cons, whether they be intentional or not.
-
I personally feel each killer should have their own 20 ranks. Your rank progress would be determined by how many survivors you kill. The pip system would be removed and you would be risking whole ranks instead.
0-1 survivors: de-rank
2 survivors: safety
3 survivors: half rank
4 survivors: rank up
This system allows players to easily learn new killers without any hassle.
-
The hindered should only last for a few seconds though.

It’s been highly discussed that Konami was most likely the reason for why there wasn’t much they could do for Lisa Garland. For this license they would work with Netflix (since they helped with Steve and Nancy) and I could imagine they wouldn’t do what Konami did with Lisa Garland.
It's normally less for more.

I could see the Halloween party outfits, but many of the recommended legendary outfits would have as little effort out into them as Cheryl's.

Unless you want to count the tutorials, killer was the side I played first.

You say that like there aren't other survivor perks that make people the obsession nor that there are several killer perks like STBFL or PWYF that are meta.
Even in games where there are no obsessions most still killers don't tunnel when I play so meh.
Also I made a LOT of killers learn that even without DS tunneling a David is a pretty stupid idea given how long they can run you for.
From my experience, most David's are potatoes that just want Dead Hard because of streamers.

I don't use DS and I rarely get tunneled unless my team is doing bad saves.
Remember as long as there is an obsession in the game the killer will treat everyone as if they had DS because of how game warping the perk is.
No one running DS = no obsession.

That or the survivor went into a locker which forces a grab or the killer to leave? Either way the survivor gets away because of DS.
Also you speak as if DS isn't one of the most easily abused perks in the entire game.
If you bring DS, killers get mad about being hit with it, but if you don't bring DS, then killers will just tunnel the ######### out of you.
-
I gen tap to not make noise or avoid potentially avoid being grabbed by a Spirit.
-
"Fix the generators". Sorry, but Claudette can't go any faster. She's got a solid charge per hour groove.
-
This seems like a subtle way to argue Premonition is better. Spine Chill is easily S-tier with the valuable information it gives.
-
If a killer picks up DS, they'll just tunnel that survivor anyways.
"Wahh, I tunneled you and got punished. Now I'm gonna focus you."
-
Not a rework, but a nerf.
No, Spirit didn't just get nerfed, she got fixed.
-
Make DS base-kit and allow the survivor to use it an infinite number of times in a chase if they are focused off hook.
Delete ebony moris and change ivory moris.
Delete Pyramid Head.
Delete Freddy.
Delete Doctor.
Have BT be given an infinite timer until the survivor leaves chase. Then the 15 seconds starts, but stops if the chase is resumed. Stealth doesn't work to leave a chase anymore.
-
Gens can already be made longer than 120 seconds with the right perks and killer.
-
Now this is what I call underpowered. His power is literally Forced Penance, but weaker.
-
Games are lost as survivor because the killer brings NOED or moris off first hook. Or if your team can't do gens.
-
Now if only I could lobby dodge if I knew it is a Freddy, Spirit, Doctor, or Clown.
