I think it may be advanced killers who want to depip so they can beat up on low ranks, yet with this method they still get to flex their superiority. “Yeah I depipped, but I still got you all!”

They won't depip but they won't pip either.

  • High tiers are typically toxic and rude. Lower tiers are actually enjoyable to play, yes some are still toxic but there's others who would get absolutely wrecked and they would still say gg and laugh and joke.

  • @The_Bootie_Gorgon said:

Has anyone tried this on him since his TR heartbeat isn't "normal"?

I mean you could but why would you?

  • It's only at Tier 3 that you start screaming. And if you're at Tier 3, that means you can't save people or do 'gennies' as you describe it anyways. So Snap out of it and that problem is easily fixed. Other than that, besides the 60 second cool down of his power which only works in his TR, how would he find you?

No, they downed every survivor fairly but never hooked anyone- the killers left all the survivors slugged until they bled out. IDK if this is holding the game hostage (since the survivors eventually all bled out and died) but no one likes to be slugged, especially over and over until everyone's died from it and the killer never hooked anyone in the first place.

I can understand being upset that you were forced to bleed out for 3-4 mins. However the game wasn't held hostage because you were on a (Slow) timer to die, no different than being hooked. And slugging as previously stated isn't a valid report. Just because people don't like it doesn't mean it's not apart of the game mechanic.

  • Blood points and lack of friends who play PC, much less DBD on PC.

I'm trying not to be salty, but the last few days I've been having really bad matches as survivor- not so much that I had a good killer or bad teammates, but that the killer never hooks any survivors- its constant slugging. At first I thought it was just a newbie mistake, but I've seen 5-6 different players downing all the survivors and never hooking. This is terrible- there's almost never a no mither or unbreakable to save the game. The killers let all the survivors bleed out and die on the ground- it was a terrible few games. I've reported them all, but wanted to know if anyone else has come across this problem- and if any mods see this, what is/are a realisitc response to this? I don't want to wait 2-3 minutes of crawling on the ground while the killer walks around and BMs me.

You reported them because they slugged the entire team? Did they cheat or something?

  • It's a good add-on if you're able to use it. 15 meters out of 18 is a hard shot and you'll be lucky if it's in the open. I've had it used 5 times in one match.

  • Same reason you can't destroy a generator when it's active. You either block the survivors from reaching it or you regress it. Having both is a little to much.

Technically you cant counter camping and/or tunneling. Im not bullying those killers at all, it just gets us survivors upset and we De-pip, we worked hard to get where we were. You dont realize how people deal with this and actually agree with this problem. But you dont need think its funny, cause a lot of people think its funny when its techincally ruining the fun out of the game. So... Am giving basic feedback.. 😕

Ranking doesn't matter aside from the fact that the higher you go, the more toxic and frustrating survivors/killers are. You have perks that counter camping and tunneling such as DS, BT, Deliverance that can help you avoid being tunneled and camped. Yes, there are the people who will take a Bubba with Insidious and facecamp you all day long. There's also people though who will see a survivor clearly in the area while hooking someone, and is chasing said survivor around who refuses to leave the area. Punishing a killer because you expect him to walk across the map to give you your "mandated" 3 hooks is ridiculous. I've personally see where if a killer is hooking someone, another survivor will literally stand right behind that killer and immediately unhook them afterwards when they barely walked a few meters away.

Hell I've had it where Survivors Gen locked themselves. These gens were SUPER close together so when I hook someone, it's within my Gen route. Am I forced to leave the area entirely just so I don't get penalized for making sure they don't escape? Specific scenarios are specific but they do happen, and the scenarios where its not the killer's fault is as equal if not more than when it is the survivors fault.

For me it is because his abilities are not bound to many logical rules that would provide some sort of counterplay and are given so many extras to them just like that ? Giving example to understand what I mean. His snares for example - he can spam them in a chase, he can use them while moving at full speed, little to no sound indication is given when he does that. Imagine now a hag who spam her traps while she runs after you and she does not stop to do that, she does it on the move and you get not much if indication she even place the trap/ she does not crouch /. Or the waking up for example. Every time another survivor wakes you up that process becomes slower for some reason. Sounds to me like a great addon idea but instead he gets it for free. Dream pallets - there is no way to tell which one is fake until you throw it down. Atleast vs the doc all you have to do is get to it - here you have to throw it. Not to mention again he can spam them - there is no limit how often you can place them. His teleport cooldown is reduced by every survivor in dream world - again and extra that is given no addon required for it. For example the doc's static blast has similar cd reduction but it comes with an addon

His snares are in plain sight and easy to see; if you care enough to hear him put it down, you're definitely close enough to see him put it down. The first time you wake up as a survivor from another, it's okay. But after that, it's hard yes. Yes it could be an add-on. but it makes sense. The whole point is to utilize the alarms placed around the map. Dream pallets, going beyond memory of when you were awake, maps can identify fake pallets. Yes, he can recycle through his snares and pallets quickly, but he can only put up to 8 snares/10 pallets at a time. He needs add-ons for the dream pallets.

Again, all of that is avoidable if you stay awake. Which is the premise of it. It was supposed to be how The Plague was designed to work with constant cleansing but survivors just stuck out being sick so they couldn't give her corrupt. The devs at that point had to go in and give her buff so that she could.

  • When you say see, do you mean like legit can't see? Or just aura readings. If it's the first option, way to OP.

i just think its how mind numbingly boring most freddys can be, and how most play.

before the nerf, every freddy ran forever freddy which was boring. its not at all good now but, its still boring to have to sit on gens for a long time to get the game over with

So comparatively between Old and New Freddy, I'd say the Reworked improved him significantly if anything. Yes you have your forever Freddy's, but I've battled plenty who've had a wide variety of perks. Hell I run Ruin and Surveillance because of the beautiful way it complements its power.

At higher ranks, some of his Add-ons probably. There are certain Add-ons that have a huge snowball effect and that are sort of unfun to play against. I guess Survivors don't like taking the risk of some of their Pallets being fake, lol. Anyway, Thanatophobia and his Gen speed Add-ons can create a snowball-effect that is hard to recover from as a Survivor. But they do exaggerate a bit in my opinion.

And I can see that right. Myself as rank 1 killer, I typically don't use add-ons. When I do, it's the kids drawing just to get more BP but it significantly lessens the capability of Snare. But excluding myself, most Freddy's don't really use add-ons that I've seen. You got your couple that'll use rope or chains. But beyond that, it's like meh.

    @Reborn2020 said:

They do that if they having a bad start. Losers.

I personally dislike him because he is dull to play as, i mean, he is good and all, but he is super boring, all you do is place snares and teleport and the rest is GG. He just doesnt feel like he has any skill involved

100% agree, very dull to play after a while. But if you remove the teleport, the snares are no different than the trappers trap (minus the fact Freddy can just put another one down constantly, however it does remove the old one once exceeded). And the teleport can be combatted better of survivors actually woke up. If there is no add-ons that hinder gen repair, they'll stay sleeping.

So? it being a 4 v 1 should not make the decisions of 1 person affect the experience of the other in such a significant way.

If someone continues to fail skillchecks, then your decision to stay with that person fixing the gen, which obviously will draw the killer, is a mistake on your behalf. Hearing the music increase when the killer is obviously chasing someone, with you not going to hide in a locker or somewhere else a chased survivor would literally never go, would be a mistake on your part. Being unhooked and downed instantly while the killer continues to chase the person who unhooked you, is not your mistake. Hell, I'd even say that if someone was not using borrowed time, they should be taking the hit regardless of who the killer actually attacks, because its not your mistake. If it is not you taking a risk, its not you who should be taking the punishment.

You're correct, except if the killer slugs you instead of immediately hooking you again. He understands it's not your fault and is giving you a second chance to escape before he/she may come back for you. Which again, you have a few perks at your disposal to use while you're slugged to either escape or crawl away quickly. You also have 2 other people to help you out (assuming the third is being chased). I don't understand why having the ability to play longer in the trial instead of getting immediately hooked 2-3 times and die because you can't outrun a killer is a problem.

  • Surveillance and Ruin

  • @Predated said:

But that is the thing, not a single person should be punished for the actions of the other.

They totally should. It's 4v1. A team trying to survive the trials together versus one lone killer. Obviously there are perks for those who do the lone wolf route but obviously they don't make it very far since most don't use it. And those that do can easily survive and out-chase most killers. The minute someone dies, it makes the game more difficult for the rest of the survivors.

And again, if you don't want to rely on others because you "don't want to be punished for the actions of others", there are perks such as unbreakable and no mither to help you along with that.

You are right, but when you equip a perk with the intent of countering another perk, you are just taking back pressure they are taking away from you, not adding pressure onto them as you said before.

Yes... that's the point. It's supposed to even the playing field so it's not one sided. Every single perk in this game has a counter to another perk/power. The pressure on the killer is the survivors surviving. The pressure on the survivors is the killer killing them. There's going to be pressure regardless.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1155532#Comment_1155532

Counterpoint: In the case of Iron Will, you would not be countering survivor perks to put more pressure on them. You would be countering survivor perks to take back some of the pressure they took from you in the first place.

Counterpoint to the Counterpoint: No matter what perk a survivor uses, they take away your ability to do pressure regardless because it aids them in the trials somehow in some fashion.

  • @OtakuFreak said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1155496#Comment_1155496

You say that yet some of those perks are essential in making the killer role less miserable. With the rampant issue of gen times, you can't blame killers for having to bring anti-gen rush perks.

I know there is Stridor, but the idea of ''just bring this perk'' to counter it isn't entirely viable, as once you are in a game, you cannot change your perks at all.

That's like how people said ''just bring iron will'' to the counter spirit argument, where it was invalid.

I totally can blame them actually. Because instead of countering the survivors perks to put more pressure on them, you use perks to counter gen pop times which means you can't put pressure on survivors. So now you have nothing to aid you to shorten chases on survivors so you can focus more on gens. I'm a Rank 1 killer main and I think the only "Meta" killer perk I use is BBQ and Chili. And I only use that for the extra BP. My other 3 perks are always swapped with new stuff to counter new people every game.

Yet instead of countering their perks with numerous perks you have at your disposal, you just want them to nerf it / stop using that perks? It's ridiculous.

  • If you don't like Iron Will, counter it with Stridor, Blood Hound, etc. There are counters, it's on you to break from your meta perks to use it.

  • If you're spending 4 mins on the ground, that's either your fault for not crawling to a safe area or your teammates fault for not picking you up.

It's not tricky at all. Games like Paladins, Fortnite, Rocket League, COD, Minecraft, MK11, have crossplay between consoles and/or PC & mobile.

Epic Games forced Sony to back off from their anti-crossplay/cross-save policies. Anything is possible nowadays.

DBD already supports crossplay between Steam and the Windows Store/Xbox Game Pass for PC... and consoles. Yes consoles too. Russian hackers have managed to edit their game to allow them to be paired up with Playstation 4 players with no issue.

I guarantee the devs will have crossplay and maybe cross-saves as one of their big reveals for the upcoming Year 4 anniversary livestream.

So what I just said still stands. As quoted by you, "Epic Games forced Sony to back off from their anti-crossplay/cross-save policies. Anything is possible nowadays." Epic Games is a much bigger entity than the owners of DBD. It's still a tricky business deal, and the Devs aren't going to hack their way in. I've no doubt it can or will happen, I'm not saying it won't.

  • To answer your question, understand that most games that are cross-platform are between Xbox and PC. Mainly because they're both owned by Microsoft. So if the creators did make it cross-platform, someone who bought DBD on Xbox could play it on PC using the Xbox App. However if someone on PC bought DBD off say Steam and not through Xbox or through the Xbox App, they wouldn't be able to play cross-platform. Sea of Thieves is a prime example of this. Does that make sense?

So when it comes to PC trying to cross-platform with PS4, its competitor, it's tricky.

  • Clown's perks will show up in shrine. If you want fun and the underdog, DeathSlinger. Oni is better of the 2.

  • Left to bleed out? They bleed out because survivors crawl away, doing it out of spite so they don't get hooked. If your teammate hasn't gotten you by the time you bled out, blame your mates.

  • Distressing, Coulrophobia, BBQ and Chili, Sloppy Butch

You can substitute BBQ if you don't need to see them due to passive screams with Unnerving Presence

Only reason why I'm against this is simply because the devs are ignoring half of the community that makes it's player base. Anything killers do/any bugs that inconveniences survivors the devs nerf. But anything that annoys killers the devs ignore. For example, it took the devs 7 days to fix the DS bugs, but Nurse's bugs still exist which has been out before her r̶e̶w̶o̶r̶k̶(nerf).

You can't constantly say your gonna do something and not do it without back lash. I appreciate and understand everything they are doing to make the game better, but you can't piss off half your community just keep the other side happy.

Annoying killers is a lot different than bug exploitation against a killer. Again I've personally never seen it myself and I've played hundreds of games as killer. The ONLY thing I've seen that apparently is considered a bug is when survivors hide under hooked survivors to not get hit.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

For me it’s always been about how you deliver the message.

You can feel mad and frustrated about something but your delivery is everything. Especially if your intent is for the devs to actually listen.

I think that’s what this thread is about.

Basically what I said in a nutshell.

  • @Mikeasaurus said:

I agree that it takes time, but doesn't it seem far too convenient that bugs or exploits on killers are gone in a week, yet survivor bugs and exploits are their for months? Bugs on killers that make them worse (Nurse) are STILL in the game, despite people telling the devs for months. So, I can't agree with you on this. The devs seem to pick and choose what they want to fix, and it always seems to be related more to survivors. And unless they show more evidence of this not being the case, it's hard to change my mind on it.

It's fine to think that. But making an arse of yourself in the forums against the Devs is not going to speed up the process. And I don't think it's convenient because I haven't seen any Survivor bugs and exploits.

  • Punctuation, spelling, and grammar matter.

  • Dumb idea. If you don't want to be camped by a bad killer, don't be a bad survivor by getting hooked.

  • I promise you it does lol. Then again, once the unhooking animation reaches a certain length, it finishes no matter what. You could put someone into the dying state but they'll still unhook them in time. Whether it's server related or not, not for me to say. Yes, the harpoon does interrupt, you just need to be quicker on the draw.

  • No. The hit box for his harpoon gun is near perfect. It's a small projectile, course it will be small.

  • I don't understand, what are you asking? Who cares about people's opinion. There's a variety of reasons for someone to DC whether it's genuine or not.

  • Unless the killer stream sniped or was specifically targeting a survivor multiple games, then yes it's banning offence. If not, he's just a douche.

  • I've only been playing him so I can't say. However I have seen survivors complaining about how small is terror radius is.

  • The survivor perks seem pretty bomb right now and can make for some cool combos. The killer's isn't that great, a couple can be used for a nice little setup but again, eh. The killer himself though is super fun. Albeit weak, but fun.

  • Because instead of doing objectives or altruism or "surviving", all you did was give chase and fulfilled one category.

No they don't have special powers, but they all sound and look different, which impacts more than you might think. Not to mention playing the same character over and over again gets really boring after a while. Same goes for killer, if I play the same killer I get bored out of my mind, I need some diversity in there; and at least I can really easily get what I want for killer, survivor doesn't have that same luck.

Your logic only applies to killers because they have different power and the comparisons between the two aren't a thing. I play Jake Park all the time, never get bored. If I do, I change his perks to try a different play style.

  • @Luigifan64 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1149735#Comment_1149735

It doesn’t equate though, killers have like what, 15 total addons that can be obtained far easier due to their less cluttered bloodwebs. Survivors have triple that in addition to items, and that’s if you just count one survivor, trying to do EVERY survivor (or hell just 3 of them) is ridiculous. Also seeing as how you taking someone else’s item means you won’t get it’s addons, you’re going to get even less because now the only way to get them is in a bloodweb where you can literally waste 500k and only get one addon you want.

Then level only one survivor? Survivors are honestly interchangeable. They have no special powers, only perks that you can learn and distribute to everyone else. One you learned all the perks, max out that one survivor and put everything into him.

  • Got it 4th game. Perks aren't great but neither are the survivors who are currently learning him.

  • @NotSimoun said:

You guys are forgetting that people are still getting used to how he plays. I still get R1 survs that run in a straight line, but every once in a while I get survivors that really know how to play against him already and are dodging left and right, dropping pallets when appropriate and respecting windows. You miss that one mixup and it's reloading simulator and the gap between you two further widens. Huntress' hatchets at least gives you chances and has no range limit. In one week when everyone is used to him its ggez

Well that's your opinion. Maybe you should get better at it. He has add-ons specifically for those situations.

  • He's def not bad. Least not yet. I've only lost one game so far, rest were 3k-4k. And I just got adept after my 4th time with him (Rank 1 btw). His perks by themselves are not great and you def can't afford to miss your shot but that's good. Lest you want those ridiculous hatchet hit boxes. His add-ons are deadly though, like jesus man.

  • @HellDescent said:

Dead man's switch doesn't work with ruin. When gens are blocked they don't regress

Did not know that. I knew you couldn't destroy them.

  • Idk what you're talking about, but no. They nerfed Gen speeds with the whole toolbox thing. And now survivors are more focused on saboing hooks quickly when you carry someone rather than gens.

  • So? These challenges are there for a reason to spice up game play and give you a new objective besides just doing Gens and leaving. One of the main reasons I'm sure was to give people a reason to keep playing the game (because rituals only give bp and that's it). The other reason is to have you and the player(s) you're up against do more unique stuff like more chases, more altruism, using specific perks outside the meta, etc. This is a good thing. Sometimes you're not gonna like doing the challenge or going against a challenge because it doesn't give you an almost 100% win every time.

And are you really complaining that instead of being immediately hooked, you get a chance to survive longer by being slugged?
