Or instead of later on down the line, in order to give prestige more meaning, universal perks could start at your prestige level.

Question. What would the higher tiers do?
Didn't think about it till now, but I guess they could determine which generators could possibly get unblocked with a hex clear. One of any of the blocked gens / one of the two closest to the killer/ the one closest to the killer.
-
The survivor's 3rd chance to get out should be difficult. Especially since most survivors nowadays don't even bother to actually look for the hatch. If you play Wraith and just wait near the hatch, it will take them about 10 minutes to show up cause they've just been waiting at the gate the whole time.

"What if instead of a time limit, the generators stayed blocked off until an open generator was done and then Corrupt Intervention wears off."
Just this and it would be a good perk.
It doesn't need the extra totem drawback.
Having a small patrol area garunteed for the first gen might be too powerful on some killers like Doctor.

Dead by Daylight is not the only game they make and have made. A lot of people only know Bhvr because of DBD; but I originally knew them for both Naughty Bear and WET. Right now DBD is STILL not the only game they work on; and they are pushing content out at an astonishing rate while doing a lot of behinds the scenes work to try and refactor code; so I am not that bothered by how slow they work sometimes. At least Bhvr is one of the few companies I fully trust to eventually make things right; which I can't say about most gaming companies.
It is however the only game that the DbD team is working on. There's not much cross game work amongst DbD team employees.

Sarcasm btw Object is fine its just ghostface needs to be fixed.
To be honest, with how popular ruin is, I would actually prefer if it didn't trigger on traps or at least had a different notification most of the time.
-
I don't play much Legion anymore, but I can tell you which perks synergize with his kit:
Franklin's Demise - being able to get the first hit in easier than with the standard killer means easier time knocking items out of hands
Sloppy Butcher - this perk is especially good if you use killer instinct to switch to a new survivor after getting the one you find into deep wounds (can combo with Thanatophobia)
Enduring + Spirit Fury - because survivors are more desperate to slam pallets onto your head against Legion than normal to end Feral Frenzy quickly, this is a bit more useful on him than the average killer
Bamboozle - excellent for quickly blocking off windows with his quicker vaults and also gives Legion some stolen power back

would be a great addition to the Trapper, as you would finally have some time to create a setup without having 2 gens repaired in the meantime.
for any other killer i feel like this would be pretty useless...
I never thought about it till you said that, but Corrupt Intervention might actually be strong on Trapper

with kiler being the host , is not simple to do this thing, but on dedicated servers will be simple to do, and it will be an insta-timeout thing ... you press dc, or close the game , or whatever you do to dc... you are timed out for: nn:nn time. because being on dedicated servers is easy to monitor all players, and automatic mostly... :)
It's not as simple as with dedicated servers, but that doesn't mean it's not simple. They actually have a portion of the formula already in place. Have you ever noticed the 5 second delay after you leave a lobby before you can join another? It's that line of coding just with a different trigger and time.

This is completely true.
Unfortunately the majority of the player base doesn't fit that criteria which means they are all gonna down vote you.
Btw I'd switch "didn't" with "don't" and "played" with "play" in your post title, it's more grammatically correct.
Lol, you were right. All he's done is state a blatant and obvious fact, and yet 7 monkeys have already downvoted him so far.

This is under the assumption that this game doesn't have a focus group and has never consulted other dev teams.
I find it highly unlikely that Scott's idea is novel. For all we know, we already have one, they gave their opinion, and this first iteration is the product of that. Having a focus group doesn't guarantee that their opinions will change anything either.
Admittedly, it is under that assumption. Cause if they actually have a focus group and consult other dev teams, then their end result is even more unforgiveable.

There’s a difference between killer not playing around a SWF, and a killer who will.
Just because it seems unfun now doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t work around it; but that possibility doesn’t seem to exist, for some reason. You can do plenty of things to counter SWF, because at the end of the day, if you haven’t picked up on them, that’s a you problem.
Mad Grit for Bodyblocking.
Hangman’s Trick for Sabo.
Thrilling Tremors for gen tracking AND slowing down game.
Corrupt Intervention for blocking of generators.
BBQ&C to get into chases faster.
Enduring to reduce pallet stuns.
Spirit Fury to remove pallets in general.
Lightborn or looking at a wall to counter flashlights.
Agitation for getting to hooks faster.
Thanatophobia for slowing the game down.
Bloodlust to get hits.
Iron-Maiden for counter lockers.
Bamboozle to cut off window vaults.
Rancor for a free Mori and tracking.
You have all the tools at your disposal to handle SWF.
But if you get...
- Ran around all game.
- Looped.
- Flash-light blinded.
- can’t make a hook due to body block
It’s not their fault for doing such; but it’s your duty as the killer to work around it.
Lmao, I love how you started making a list about stuff you could do to counter swf playstyle problems, but only managed to get one, but kept making a list countering the general survivor playstyle as if nobody would notice.

here is the thing:
looking at both sides, we see the Killer with 4 total perk slots and the Survivors with 16 total Perk slots. due to the fact that the killer has quite the disadvantage here, the Killer perks are stronger in their effects than the Survivor perks, therefore the Killer can have a maximum of 4 Perks to support them during the trial.
now, when both sides have a perk very similar in its effects (BBQ and WGLF), the Killers perk needs to be superior. in this case, we have the aura reading effect. taking that away would lead to an inbalance between the 2 sides.
when looking at that strength difference, we cant get around Adrenaline and NOED. Adrenaline gives you a short speed boost and heals you. to compensate, NOED gives the killer a permanent speedboost and allows to oneshot. when comparing both perks, NOED is therefore stronger, which it needs to be to compensate for the lesser amount of possible Killer perk choices. now, a lot of people want NOED to be nerfed to death. alright, do that, BUT with the same patch they NEED to kill Adrenaline aswell, otherwise that would create a huge imbalance gameplay wise.
if a survivor perk trumps the killer perks, its a really strong perk to be used and will easily be considered a "meta perk". old DS had that problem, as it trumped every perk the killer had and activated its effect, giving the killer no way around the perk. same goes for the current MoM. now, i get it that a WGLF that lets you see the killer aura for X seconds will not be as strong as those perks, but it would still be too good.
in my eyes, WGLF is fine the way it is. if you insist on buffing it though, BBQ also needs to be adjusted.
if the survivor perks end up as strong / stronger than their killer side equivalents, killers will feel that in their trials. and it wont be nice.
You actually mentioned the 16 to 4 perk ratio that implies killer perks should be approximately 4 times as powerful as survivor perks. WGLF has 0 in game use which makes BBQ infinite times better mathematically. I agree with the notion that killer perks should be about 4 times as strong and survivor perks. However, that notions that WGLF actually needs have something in order to reach 1/4 the strength of BBQ's effect.

Here’s the thing though;
You can’t really do anything about it. If you get destroyed by a SWF; maybe it’s a you problem. Run Lightborn if you think you’re getting blinded too much. Use Mad Grit if you think Body Blocking is an issue.
I can see what you mean by it being annoying, but there is nothing that should be done to it. As a solo player (and sometimes SWF, depends on how I’m feeling), it’s fine.
You shouldn’t penalize players working together with voice comms, because without it, this game’s que times would suffer.
Also; I feel like this needs to be said- 4-man SWF is rare. And if you think you’re getting destroyed by said groups, maybe it’s not the SWF that needs to be reworked. I don’t mean this in a bad way, of course; I’m still learning, much like everyone else is. But improvement usually starts with failure.
Lol, every time somebody mentions the need for SWF to be balanced, the same two contradictory arguments for not balancing it pop up.
1) It would dramatically increase queue times by decreasing the number of players
2) SWF players are rare
These are the 2 points I always here most from anti SWF balance people, and they can't possibly both be true from a logical perspective.
-
It's really no surprise that DS is still popular. While it's weaker now during the generator phase for killers who don't tunnel, it's stronger than ever during the end game phase which happens around 90% of the time at high ranks.
Once all the generators are powered, the vast majority of killers aren't going to leave a hooked survivor. Personally, I love the trade off letting a survivor get unhooked in exchange for hooking a different survivor cause it nets me more bloodpoints. However, my greed for bloodpoints is quickly punished once a survivor with DS gets unhooked and then proceeds to unhook the survivor I hooked to replace them. Because DS got changed to where there's no way to hook a survivor before it procs in time, that survivor is now garunteed a stun on hitting the skillcheck. And once that happens, pretty much all the survivors escape as a result.

@Orion said:
Why should the power role's perks not be more powerful than the number role's perks?
Yeah, but logically the power role perks should be 4 times as strong as the number role perks. As of right now, WGLF has 0 in game use, so BBQ, the killer equivalent, is infinitely times as strong. A small in game use for WGLF would be appropriate. Something like whenever it procs, it reveals your aura to all other survivors for 6/7/8 seconds.

This is true, because noob3 made a new account and started again, but why ochido got banned again while in a stream? (I'm not defending anyone just curious)
If you get banned and don't repeat the behavior, you'll be allowed to play on a new account.
But when people constantly break the rules even on new accounts after being banned on previous ones, that's when the heaviest end of the ban hammer comes down and all accounts that player uses now and in the future will be banned.

Who is we all? I've never even heard about this bug till now.

Really? I find her to be the easiest killer to escape a chase from. While it's definitely true that nurses down me faster than any other killer on average, I without a doubt lose nurses more often than I lose any other killer.

Oh, I didn't even think about how BT would affect the new MoM. I thought this was in reference to WGLF and was wondering why the hell anybody would want to make it even harder to get stacks on that already limited perk.

The in-game ping system IS that erroneous. That's exactly why it was made.

Let me fix it for you . "Bad /baby/ nurse is beatable. I agree on that. I have fun playing vs not really that good nurse cause you can juke her and it is true many people don't know how to deal even with them. Here are 2 MAJOR problems though. You learn how to counter her only outside of the game. There are no inside the game guides who tells you to LoS her. And considering how many killers are already in game it is really hard to focus looking just for one on the internet. I think its gonna get even worse in the future with new players who have to learn how to beat 20+ killers on the fly ... gl with that. Second major problem - there are actually good nurses and they are NOT beatable - I am sorry but it is not even close. If you want to prove me otherwise join in queue with Zubatlel's Nurse and beat him and then post it here. Or you can just show us how you get 4k-ed in the first 3 minutes - that is okay too.
Are there inside the game guides for looping and mind gaming? If so, the tutorial has definitely improved since I last checked it out.
-
Lol, ironically, I just got out of a game where somebody straight out admitting to using mlga for the express purpose of blocking people they don't want to play with. The timing of confirming what that application is actually for is brilliant. Finding the true ping of killers? Ha, as if the in game system is so erroneous that a whole new program would be popular enough just by being more accurate.

It's kinda hard when there's only a 50% chance to get a token from Protection for taking hits for someone or body blocking the killer, and finite amount of potential Safe Unhooks.
If you're gonna use WGLF, Borrowed Time is the best match up for it. Hell, Borrowed Time is powerful on its own even if you're not using WGLF.

That's not even how MLGA works. It just shows pings and whether or not you've marked the ping as Loved or Blocked. It doesn't block connections.

That phrases it more perfectly than I could have.
-
While toxicity is definitely present at all ranks, I personally think there's less of it as you scale up. Most toxic people are the self-centered arrogant type who refuse to learn and blame everybody else for anything that goes wrong. And people who refuse to admit to their mistakes and learn from them don't progress very fast. However, a number of those people still do make it to higher ranks purely through massive playtime instead of more rapid skill gain. But as I rank up, I definitely hear less stupid statements about using obvious perks and strategies.
-
It's definitely got to be Peanits. He constantly puts himself out there offering information knowing full well that he's going to get the brunt of all criticism for it. You gotta respect somebody who's willing to do far more than any other Behavior staff in keeping us informed even when he has to wade through so much rage as a result of his going beyond what's required of him. Mad respect for the guy.

Bad argument. Just because I can't avoid the endgame every game, doesn't mean escaping it should be impossible. That'd be bad game balance.
Bad game balance would be making it easy for the last survivor to escape after the killer has done a good job of finishing off the other 3 survivors before the generators are finished which is difficult as all hell at higher ranks without a rage quit. It's SUPPOSED to be difficult for you to escape as the last survivor. The killer is supposed to have the advantage in this situation.
Most survivors are completely ignoring what the intended gameplay for this situation was: A race to the hatch. Now survivors race to the gates instead and hide. I still manage to hatch escape as the last survivor every now and then. Definitely more so than I manage to gate escape as last survivor after a closed hatch.
-
#########? Pigs actually do this to you? And more than once? I've never seen a Pig do anything but chase in crouch in order to get the timer to go down for the kill.

This.
Also why would anyone want to play a no perk killer against experienced survivors? Take away everyones perks and the game is even more survivor sided even without survivor perks.
Actually, no perks might actually benefit the killer. It's hard to say since it's never been done before. However, one thing is true beyond a shadow of a doubt. If it's no swf, then killers would swarm to that game mode, so I'm sure that's not the case.
Also, I forget who, but somebody mentioned the primary purpose of the trial was actually to test matchmaking with balance being a secondary focus. There's little chance this will actually result in a new game mode. Maybe new achievements for doing things vanilla style, but I highly doubt a new game mode.

Considering you're acting like an idiot, then yeah, you're thinking too highly of yourself. I mean you're the only one here calling you an idiot. So believe what you want
And I hope you know they could probably only get a hold of the mask and not the robe/the character of Ghostface. I understand you probably want something to complain about but literally no one wants to hear it. Be grateful that we at least got what we got.
Wow, I'm amazed at how both of you completely missed the mark, but then again, apparently so did 16 other people.
I literally started off my first post by saying "I understand why what happened did happen", but I guess y'all just glossed straight the hell over that, huh? If you actually bothered to read my statement instead of only hear what you want, it's entirely clear that I don't have a problem with them only being able to get the rights to the appearance and using what they can to make their own Ghostface killer. My problem was that they acted like it was their intention and that not getting the movie rights was a genius move on their part. They so blatantly play that card, it's as if they think we're too stupid to understand that they only got half the rights they needed to put the movie killer in the game. But apparently, some people are a bit too stupid to understand what happened so I guess it's a valid spin even if it is disrespecting to people who have my level of intellect if not yours.

Another problem is that is way too easy right now to getting out of a chase, so killers will reach you quickly... for this i tought we needed some range where the perk doens't activate, but again the problem is the conflict with whispers.
Actually, the better solution to this particular problem would be to fix the broken as hell chase mechanics. But if Legion didn't make them fix it, I doubt anything will.

How do you all make up for your mistakes ingame? Like missing attacks, throws, etc.
Also, how not to focus on those in the middle of the match? Every time i miss a window axe throw/swing i get furious. Perhaps i shouldn't expect perfection but it's annoying nonetheless.
Unfortunately, any mistake a killer makes is critical. However, this also leads to them improving faster than survivors who can get away with mistakes. During your learning phase, if you focus more on personal improvement than victory, you can be happy that your accuracy is improving even if you didn't win.
-
The current version of prestiging is only good if you want the bloody cosmetics. However, there is a small possibility that when they get the time, the development team will fix it to where it increases rarity of nodes on the bloodweb, so I can't say it's a waste of time even if you don't want cosmetics.
Personally, I would prestige just in case. There's nothing like investing millions of bloodpoints in a character and then realizing later on down the line that you want to prestige them.
-
The thing that always gets me is the mindset of stupidity where survivors will get beat completely and then say that the killer sucks. How is it that difficult for them to understand what it means if a killer that sucks beat them completely? But if you try to explain it to them, it's impossible to get through their thick skulls.
-
If it's stuff in the game, there's not much you can do about it except build up a tolerance. Fortunately for me, I've been playing forever, so my tolerance was built during infinites, double pallets, pallet vaccuums, and that crazy #########. The game's balance improves slowly compared to a typical development team, but it does eventually get somewhere.
As for post game chat, there's a few tricks I've learned to deal with all the whining. The simplest is to just respond with lol to any attempt to infuriate you and add an extra "ol" each time they try to persist. 9 times out of 10, it annoys the ######### out of them.
Them: What's wrong, noob? Can't play a game without camping?
Me: lol
Them: BBQ and Ruin? Can't do anything without your baby killer perks, can you?
Me: lolol
Them: Is that all a noob killer like you can say?
Me: lololol
Them: You're what's wrong with this game. Can't get any real killers that don't rely on Ruin and camping.
Me: lolololol
Them: omg, you're such a damn noob. Go to hell, you baby loser killer!
Me: lololololol
*silence*
-
Lol, I actually got this achievement by playing killer. There was a patch where the achievement was bugged and if 4 survivors escaped through the hatch, the killer got the achievement instead of the survivors. But yeah, that's probly not the ideal route to try.
Like most people have said, survive with friends is going to be the best way to go about this achievement.
-
That kind of speed would be noticeable and they've made it clear they don't want to give any whispers like knowledge without whispers itself. Might be more viable if the speed applied outside of chases, but I think those numbers are a bit too high for it either way.
-
This is 99% survivor greed and entitlement and only 1% latency. I've yet to ever get hit through a pallet because I don't loop on the side of greed and then complain about the obvious consequences of that. I drop the pallet as soon as it becomes dangerous and have never had a problem because of it.
I constantly listen to survivors complain in post chat about hitboxes when they try to loop the same area 5 times and I use it to my advantage to time a hit on the run they can't make. I very rarely see hits connect that actually surprise me though it definitely does happen on occasion.
But if you're the kind of survivor that stalls at a pallet greedy for the stun and then runs off thinking you can get another loop in cause I refuse to take a pallet stun, don't be surprised when there's not enough distance between us for you to make another loop. It's not a hitbox problem, it's an entitlement problem.
-
Weird, I had heard it was the reverse of PC on consoles where survivors have the longer waiting time. Did it change at some point?
-
All they're changing is the routing around the pallets. But by increasing the amount of pallets in exchange for decreasing the ease of avoiding the killer, they're actually buffing survivors although I doubt they realize that. More pallets means they're easier to find and extend the time they can delay the killer. The visual they gave is most likely inaccurate, but if it's a sign of things to come, it'll end up doubling the number of pallets in the game.

I understand why what happened did happen. But what I consider stupid is how they try to play it off like it's some great thing that they planned. Bragging about how they can come up with their own original lore for the character as if it's a great achievement. Acting like we're all a bunch of brain dead monkeys is just a sign of disrespect that pisses me off.
