  • That's normal. You're supposed to move your scope slower after aiming. Though it really isn't that much of a disadvantage even if they take a sharp turn since worse case scenario, it takes less than a second to stop aiming, turn, and start aiming again.

  • My suggestion is to make Ebony mori able to kill one survivor after 1 hook like an Ivory mori and able to kill the final survivor like Cypress mori, but for the other two, they would need 2 hooks each before the mori.

Auron471 basically suggested that. It's both entertaining and a significant warning to the survivor. I believe he'd be able to fire AFTER he finishes the phrase?

I think that would be too much of a nerf. His aim actually doesn't take that long, but once he's in aim mode, he can't move his aim very quickly so it would be too brutal if the phrase was that long. We just need something so that it's not utterly impossible to simultaneously look where you're going and actually be able to have any counterplay to his speargun.

  • Only nerf I think he needs is some kind of audio warning when he's aiming. It's so much faster than a hatchet windup that it shouldn't hurt too much, but actually give a chance at counterplay in so many sections of the map.

  • The opposite end of Ebony Mori was actually the insta heal medkits. I think you should get the effects of Cypress and Ivory mori meaning you can kill one survivor after 1 hook and the final survivor by your own hand. But in order to mori the other 2, you need to hook them twice first.

  • I'll say I'd much rather they do something about gen completion speed in general. Toolbox or barehanded, it was still too fast. All they did it nerf the fastest method if genrushing, but still genrushing is easy as hell.

  • I do wish that they would have some kind of random challenge option for when you finish all the challenges. The game is more entertaining with challenges or rituals to do.

  • It didn't count for the achievements so I wouldn't think it would count for the challenges, but they might be coded differently. I don't know if I've done any of them with disconnects yet.

  • This post threw me off for a second cause I haven't checked out twitch in a while and was confused by the possibility that only killer streams remained. But I just checked it out and there's plenty of streamers playing survivor. I'm sure at least one of the higher viewed ones is bound to be skilled enough to know how to loop for an extensive amount of time.

  • Dang, it's almost as if sabo is still a gimmick and not some OP mechanic like a bunch of people were whining about.

  • Interesting, I did not know that you could pull a survivor at full health out of a bush and straight into the carry state. I didn't know that bushes hid survivors from BBQ, rendered them exposed to Iron Maiden, and had all the synergies that lockers do.

  • They also hide scratch marks. I didn't think it was possible to make a map worse than Ormond for scratch marks, but boy did the map designer prove me wrong on that idea.

  • Am I the only one that thinks that having somebody rush in and insta-heal only to have a survivor go straight back down and another one immediately end up in a chase with only one hit left isn't that powerful?

I can read just fine, but everything OP says after "so me and my SWF... etc" is irrelevant. SWF is toxic in its nature and OP got to taste a little of his own medicine.

So everything after "so me and my SWF" is irrelevant, eh? Let's test that theory.

So me and my SWF played a game. Later on, I figured out that manytimes is a comprehensive person who makes sure to view the entire picture instead of cherry picking and showing overwhelming bias to one thing pretending that it negates any other obvious facts.

Holy crap, your hypothesis is holding out strong so far. What was after that "so me and my SWF" was definitely irrelevant to reality.

  • @Oshi said:

After "my usual red ranks SWF" i stopped. Gitgud.

Dang, literacy is such a struggle for people nowadays. Can't even get past a single sentence, just because the OP was playing in easy mode, doesn't mean the killer wasn't a lying attention-thirsty child.

  • You can just immediately get the points back that you lost by downing one of the 2 targets now right in front of you, and then get even more points by chasing the other one and downing them as well.

  • If you want iridescent malicious emblems, use Legion and just go full shank. Hit everything as much as possible regardless if deep wounds is applied and you're garunteed it.

  • This always happens with new chapters. People who stopped playing and new players start playing and increase the general playerbase making survivor queues faster and killer queues longer, but they're not as skilled as continuous players. You should notice a number of killers are also worse than usual. However, while skilled survivors are stronger than skilled killers, unskilled killers are stronger than unskilled survivors so the impact is going to be stronger when you're playing survivor.

I mean like doing the ultimate kind of build with, for example, freddy with the ultimate gen defense, slugging at 5 gens and doing bringing the ebony incase someone loves.

Then again, my definition of fun and someone else's is different, so I will edit that part out since that is down to opinion.

I was having an internal debate in my head whether an all out killer could really beat all out survivors as I sure remember a number of cases where regularly equipped survivors still managed to stomp me when I brought an ebony mori and yellow addons in trying to get a kill all survivors challenge just because of how short game time can be. I thought your claim was a bit weird, but still theoretically possible. Then you said 5 gen slugging with ebony mori is the strong move and now I know you're just exaggerating without thinking things through logically.

why are they sometimes worse than having players as host though?

Because BHVR seemingly didn't spend too much on them to have them a number available at low ping for all areas.

Nothing is going to get done either way I could go through the list of changes starting with how the tool boxes are basically useless now or how they added another ranged killer with improvement to hit boxes so they shooting people around corners and what have you. The doctor was already a huge pain in the bum and they just made it even worse. The problem is if the killer mains out there decide that something is too good for survivors to have they unite to get it removed and the survivor don't get any compensation for it the loss.

Admittedly, since the Ruin change happened before the Toolbox change, it's not technically compensation. But you're an amazing level of dellusional if you think that the toolbox changes were even close to as devestating to survivors as the Ruin changes were to killers. Toolboxes aren't even needed to stomp killers if you actually know what you're doing as survivor since that change.

  • If you're gonna come in here and start whining, at least give a reason why. At least other survivors explain why they're upset. Coming in here and doing nothing but complain about nothing in general is a 100% way to garuntee absolutely nothing gets accomplished.

  • I think the more realistic solution would be to make it impossible to completely outpower the power role unless they're intentionally letting you. The fact that this is possible is kind of a dead giveaway that survivors are too strong.

  • Unique terror radius audio is also crappy with doctor. They really should make the TR consistent and let the chase music be unique. It's annoying as hell to have to learn a whole new TR system for individual killers when they could easily be made uniform.

  • The rift is specifically made to be something to grind. It's percisely for those people who play this game loads. If you don't have time for it, then it's not really for you. Stick to daily rituals if that's the pace you want.

  • I've actually done a compilation video of this very thing a year ago.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUE5Ji2o1bE

  • When the hell did they ever say they were changing map sizes?

  • Monster Shrine no longer #1 at being #0?

  • Anything that procs Balanced Landing counts for that challenge.

  • Not many people are going to approach the change with this kind of logic. The first few weeks will be people trying to sabotage like crazy and then killers coming to the forums complaining when it works and survivors coming and complaining when they realize it's not anywhere near as advantageous as some people have hyped it up to be.

    Did you mean, Scorpion?

Or maybe Batman when he pulled a dude with his grappling hook? (Which probably happened somewhere in the golden age)

    These aren't new concepts.

Someone that hits you with some long range thing and pulls you in? Done before.

It's all in the execution and what makes this character unique from the others.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1146685#Comment_1146685

Hunter has a headcrab like leap from half-life.

Boomer has the explosion on death from... pretty much everywhere. And the projectile vomiting of the exorcist girl.

Literally any guy with a gun has ranged damage like the spitter if you wanna be that broad. And plague would be the better aproximation.

Charger charges accross the map like hulk in ultimate smash. Or the guy with rockets on superbomberman 4.

If you work too broad, you'll get connections everywhere. Think of what makes the characters unique instead.

You sound like you're fun at parties.

Dude I think you just came up with a way for chucky to be a playable killer. Now all you need to do is solve the visibility problem and the "how would be carry or hook a survivor?" problem and maybe we can make it happen haha.

Oh, I didn't even think about that. I did want to see Chucky in the game. He might have to drag downed survivors and yeet them at hooks.

I think the visibility would be into his favor to make him harder to see coming. Though his own vision might have to be a bit higher so he's not a total pain to play as.

  • It's not just him. Demogorgon has that Hunter like leap. Plague has that Boomer like handicapping bile. Too a lesser extent, Huntress has ranged damage like Spitter, and Hillbilly charges across map to murder like Charger.

A killer like jockey might actually be hilarious. Jump on a survivor to incapacitate them and try to steer them at other survivors to attack.

  • Quitting every time the going gets tough is exactly how you ensure that you don't grow as a player. The games that are the most devestating to you are also going to be the games you grow the most from if you bother to learn from them. Ever since the Ruin nerf, I've been getting destroyed in way more of my matches as killer than I used to. As a result, I've been forced to learn new tricks to compensate. Because the game is unbalanced, I still can't possibly do anything against high skilled survivors gen rushing, but now I can completely toy with low to medium skill survivors. Now, if the game ever gets balanced, I'm going to be a monster of a killer.

  • The rift was primarily made to give people something to put effort into. If it was ridiculously easy to complete, it wouldn't be much different than daily rituals. It's supposed to be a challenge.

  • This would actually solve a majority of the problems that the game currently has. I'd love to see this implemented. It's one of the best suggestions I've read in these forums.

You believe what you want to and I'll believe what I want to. We don't have proof that it happened that way. Mine's is that it it could have been planned before hand. Then the other which is that it is not. After all that person we are talking about isn't in charge of game balance. They are in charge of a different department. Game balance is a team effort and it takes a while to implement. No matter how small a simple change can seem to be, it takes a while for them to change it.

By different department, do you mean the department of the entire game? If you think he can't control the "direction" that the "game" goes in, you might be mistaking his job. In all likeliness, he's the primary suspect for why the dev team constantly decides to apply band aid fixes instead of fixing core gameplay problems.

Actually it wasnt as my first post to that person had at the bottom of their post

"Cheats play this game. Never forget that. swf using coms."

My replies were in direct response to this so completely on topic as to what they said.

As I also said I don't see it as cowardly removing anything as its about context. Of course the games original vision was to play without comms but it is also a multiplayer game. Swf was always intended to be added to the game. The fact they removed the video is probably just to stop people using it as an argument in this way as you are doing now.

That post also started with "The number of people that play swf with coms is really high. Can they balance the game other than tellign us to git good?" and if you read the post, it was clearly about balance.

And you're right about the reason they removed that video. They wanted to get people to stop using it as evidence to the argument that devs knew ahead of time that voice communication would be devestating to the balance of the game. Because that video made it undeniably true. That's cowardice.

I started late September 2016 so missed the earlier streams.

I think that one itself is all about context though. Not adding it to the game itself is different from them accepting SWF would use third party comm tools.

I don't see this a cowardly but as I said acceptance of what happens in multiplayer games when friends play together which tbh isn't something anyone can do much about as they can't legally scan for tools which don't interfere with the game files themselves in some countries.

What we do know is the stance from the devs is that it is allowed and not cheating which was what my original post you quoted stated.

The quote you posted the first reply to was about balance, not cheating. If anybody jumped off topic, it would be you.

While changing your mind isn't cowardly, deleting evidence that you knowingly introduced a problem in order to avoid responsibility is. I have no problem with them changing their minds. I actually enjoy having the Clown, Plague, and Demogorgon of which none would be here since originally they didn't want clowns, religious killers, or non human killers. My problem is they knew ahead of time that voice communication would be problematic for game balance, then added what was garunteed to bring voice communication into the game, and then did nothing to balance it over the course of 3 years.

If you provide a link and time stamp I will certainly view it but of late they have posted here and stated that it is not cheating as it accepted that its part of any game where people play with friends.

Oh, I guess neither of you are old enough players to know about that stream. A timestamp would be irrelevant cause the devs got tired of people using their own words against them and deleted the stream to get rid of the evidence. It seems like nobody was prepared for them to make such a cowardly move because there doesn't seem to be any recordings of that stream anywhere. But ask around and the older players can tell you that the devs admitted they didn't want to add voice communication into the game because it would be a nightmare to balance around it.

There is no indication that it would be higher as these stats were released after almost a year of people complaining that a 4 man swf was in every game. In reality this has been the case since the game added SWF.

It's a perception of what one wishes to believe over what is the case.

The amount of times I've been accused of playing in an SWF as we all knew how to play and coordinated well when I only play solo is astounding.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1143171#Comment_1143171

Technically its not that bad as a 2 man swf only has one other person knowing at all times but only if the other has eyes on the killer. A 2 man SWF has never been considered as an issue, that starts with a 3 man and upwards.

Using comms while playing with friends is not cheating as stated by the devs themselves.

However, using coms with friends is game breaking as stated by the devs themselves in dev stream #6.

Maybe, but as far as I know Prestiging has never actually provided a noticeable bonus.

Whether it's intentionally almost unnoticeable or some kind of bug is something only BHVR can tell you.

When the game first came out, it actually did increase bloodweb item rarity. However, it was changed some time after to where it doesn't affect item rarity. I'm not sure when. Maybe when they reworked bloodwebs to be less grindy and gave out legacy prestige cosmetics.

  • I'm still waiting till I get all characters to P3 with all T3 perks before I can reach the point of more grind needed. 2500 hours and I'm not even close to that point yet.

  • That's not a killer trend. Both killers and survivors do that in the majority of threads that involve gameplay discussion.

  • I'm pretty sure this game would be overwhelmingly better if anybody who made game design decisions was forced to play at least 5 survivor and 5 killer games per day at high ranks.

  • @whammigobambam said:

Sure if the weakest player is the one that doesn't run 4 second chance perks they are definitely the weakest. Tunnelling is not defined as a good strategy to be frank if the killer tunnels me three others will be escaping. Not at anytime am I enjoying being driven to exhaustion and defeat eventually getting face camped because why? The killer was bad or the survivor is tired of being tunnelled run down and face camped. Top it off I have a target on my back now because some random has ds and I have to play this ds game now where I am subject to the killers decision and more often then not the killer decides let's kill the obsession because that guy will ds me when the gates open. I'm done on this topic I feel as if no matter what I say some guy here has some smart Alec retort when my initial thoughts on it was to alert bhvr that obsession target is something that should be an opt out option due to the fact that tunnelling is going on everytime lately due to the ds usage. I'm also very curious why ds users aren't guaranteed the obsession status due to this volatile type gameplay it comes with.

After reading through this, I can assure you with full confidence that you don't understand how killers think. I'm kind of surprised by how many people in this thread seem to think that DS increases your chance of becoming the obsession when it's the exact opposite. I know BHVR definitely doesn't help with their inaccurate perk description, but anybody who's played the game enough should know better. Any good killer will know that the obsession is the least likely person to have DS. In your case, it's even more confusing cause in the same post you say you're the obsession cause a random brought DS and yet simultaneously say the killer is going to target you because they'll think you have DS.

At this point, it's kind of obvious that your constantly getting tunneled is nothing more than your personal dellusion as any evidence you bring up to support that theory is just factually untrue.

  • @TheRockstarKnight said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1142191#Comment_1142191

See the problem with that is some Killers, like Pig, have better Common and Uncommon add-ons than they do Very-Rares or Ultra-Rares. And others like Michael, Nurse, Plague, Ghostface, Wraith, Oni, or Demogorgon have Common and Uncommon add-ons that have unique effects.

If Prestiging made filled your Bloodwebs with more Rare and above items instead of Uncommon and Common you'd essentially be punished for Prestiging those characters by being denied good add-ons or add-ons needed for specific builds.

And if you just make the Bloodweb bigger so more of everything spawns to get around that, it'll take a lot longer to level up Prestiged characters and get good/all perks on them; once again making it more difficult to get what you might want on a character you like.

Is that why they changed it? That actually would explain a lot.

  • Or they could just do what they said it was supposed to do and increase the rarity of items in bloodwebs.

  • I prefer Santa Clown, but Puddles is good if you didn't spend on cosmetics.

  • @whammigobambam said:

There's plenty of reasons to target the obsession. Especially early to get rid of ds.

The obsession is the least likely person to have DS. What other reasons are there? I can't think of any other than OoO let alone plenty of them.
