I’d rather see original Hillbilly brought back and leave his new addons as is before anything else.. From his roar to his overheat.. it just feels depressing to both play and face in my opinion. Just doesn’t feel right anymore..

You know I honestly agree I had no issues with Billy the way he was and yet he gets reworked and yet killers that need it are being ignored but then again it's paid for content right Billy comes with the game so easier to rework a killer no one paid for than one they have

Is the bad Survivor main upset that their precious little Decisive Skill is getting re-balanced?

Not at all can't stand decisive I find it's a waste of a perk slot

I generally think LF is a bit overtuned. Strong though kind of like Freddy and is bad in specific situations. Also king of camping.

But on the whole no real need to nerf him. I would rather they remove Ruin and BBQ from the game than nerf LF.

Yea I agree with Tictac why that's not the problem with him the problem is his chainsaw the fact he can basically insta-down you and the fact he gets that speed increase really makes it feel sucky to vs him then he walks really close to a wall and the chainsaw hits it but no tantrum but he hits you no problem with a pallet or window vault

  • @ProfGameAndTalk said:

    Nerf Bubba?? NEVAH!!!!!!

Then no nerf for DS and while we're at it let's Buff Unbreakable see where we get then

  • @pseudechis said:

If the killer shut the hatch then the EGC would have started which probably ticked down quicker than the bleed out timer, its hardly holding the game hostage.

I've done this when the gates are 99'd and there are no hooks nearby just because hey unless they pick themselves up or crawl towards a close hook I'm not taking the chance of losing them, especially if they were really good at evading me, even moreso if I'm waiting out a DS, no malice just business.

I guess you could put it in the same box as survivors waiting at the gate to BM, just leave, you don't have to wait out the timer its obnoxious, kinda like well just hook me you don't have to wait out the timer its obnoxious.

Yes but there's waiting out a DS and then there's the survivor is under a hook practically begging for death and killer sits there laughing like a maniac whacking the ground and if it's fine then I'm gonna start doing it hell all killers should

  • @megswifey said:

It's obnoxious af, but since you have 4-5 minutes before bleeding out, it's not technically holding the game hostage. However, I think it's pretty close to it. There's no benefit to either player and it's kind of like a test of will for the survivor (to DC or not to DC, that is the question... lol!) Either way, that guy was pretty crummy for doing this. When I get maches like that I move on and hope for the best. And I call them stinky, but I never tell them that because that's mean! Good luck and I hope your next matches are more fun than this hon :)!

Yea it's annoying and had to hold in the anger anyway as he was a cross platform player so no way of venting to him either oh well kinda annoying that BHVR allow this kinda thing when it does happen then it just chains and everyone starts doing it oh well thanks for the nice message most people just get toxic about skill level and claiming they never get caught lol 🤣

  • @QwQw said:

That's not taking the game hostage, that's being an #########.

Feel like it falls under the same category in this case tbh but oh well

  • @Hoodied said:

They eventually bleedout and die so no, its not taking the game hostage

That's stupid it's prolonging a game that is already finished thanks tho hopefully never meet a killer like that again 🙂

Given how contentious DS is and how it is often used, there should be some skill check prompt which has the chance of missing it. The ptb update made skill checks so incredibly smooth so perhaps when that goes live it will be better for you on console

Hope so really annoying how laggy skill checks are atm on console

  • @Fuzzels said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1914130#Comment_1914130

Give it a quick read over bud. States "succeeding or failing the skill check will disable"

OK thank you no need to be rude about it tho just don't seem fair that I get punished for lag

  • @th3 said:

IF you missed the skillcheck it wont appear again. IF you let the skill check go without attempting to hit it, you will get the prompt the second time.

Right thank you still doesn't seem very fair tho as like I said with lag and other issues the game can't fix why should I suffer

  • @Fuzzels said:

So.. you failed it and the perk didnt activate BECAUSE you failed it? That.. sounds like its working as intended..

No I was hooked then unhooked failed it then it never activated again do you not know how decisive works 🙄

I know Happy Death Day isn't a horror classic by any means, but I thought it would be cool to design a Killer based on Babyface from Happy Death Day. I tried to keep it balanced while also doing justice to the killer's capabilities in the movie, enjoy!

    Stats

    4.4 m/s Movement Speed

    0m Terror Radius

    Power

Quantum Flux: Press the Active Ability button to enter Vengeance Stance(VS). While in Vengeance Stance, you move at 4.6 m/s and your Terror Radius becomes 32m. Holding the Active Ability button in Vengeance Stance will cause you to rewind at 2 times speed up to the point where you entered Vengeance Stance. You go back to Basic Stance(BS) after rewinding and there is a 15 second cooldown before you can re-enter Vengeance Stance.

Death Counters: After rewinding, all injured survivors in a 32m range gain a Death Counter. When a survivor gains a Death Counter, they become Exhausted and Mangled for 10 seconds per Death Counter they have. On the power icon it will say how many Death Counters have been distributed and reduce the VS cooldown by 1 second for each of them, to a maximum of a 7 second reduction.

    Add-ons

Stat changes: Decreased TR and rewind speed in VS, Increased TR and cooldown in VS, Increased BS TR and VS rewind speed, Decreased BS MS and VS cooldown.

Very Rare: School Spirit Mask: Survivors scream when they gain a Death Counter, -10% rewind speed; Carousel Music Box: Healthy survivors gain Death Counters but aren't applied status effects from them, +16m TR in BS; Chocolate Milk Carton: The obsession heals and unhooks others 5% slower per Death Counter on them, status effects from Death Counters last half as long, survivors gain a Death Counter when put onto a hook; Lori's Hair Tie: Every 5 Death Counters a survivor gets they become your obsession, -20% Death Counter status effect duration for the obsession

Ultra Rare: Dead Cell Phone: Survivors are Hindered while under the status effects of Death Counters, +20 seconds to VS cooldown; Poisoned Cupcake: Rewinding to the point where you entered VS will reveal the aura of the obsession and expose them for 90 seconds(these end when the survivor is hooked), and grant them a Death Counter. Hooking the obsession puts your power on cooldown for 75 seconds, -5 seconds per Death Counter that survivor has. +15 seconds to VS cooldown.

    Perks

    Pointless Kindness

When a survivor is unhooked 32m or more away from you, the rescuer has their healing and repair speeds decreased by 25% for 60 seconds and they become your obsession.

    Hex: Envy's Sting

Each time a generator is completed a random dull totem is turned into a hex totem with this effect: The survivor(s) who completed the generator are healed and unhooked by others 50% slower outside of the killer's Terror Radius. Cleansing a hex totem, including this one, will leave a dull totem in its place and all dull totems will be blocked by the Entity for 120 seconds. The Hex effect persists as long as the related Hex Totem is standing.

    Always Watching

While you aren't in a chase, survivors hear an approaching TR when they start working on a generator.

    Miscellaneous

The Basic Stance Terror Radius is an omnidirectional music box tune. No map in mind yet. Have some Tree perks in mind but am gonna leave Babyface alone here. Need help naming lower rarity add-ons. I'm not very good at lore but the best I can think of is an alternate dimension Lori or maybe even Phi.

Great idea was actually talking to my friend the other day about baby face and the whole movie plot of time restarting basically is the entities realm you die you restart at the camp fire you escape oh wait I'm here again it just fits perfectly with the game

  • Ha that's rich sure I've seen you on the forums being petty before 😂

  • @Karao_Ke said:

Unless it's blatantly obvious that even the killer catches on, I usually wouldn't know if you've had any useless teammates because I'm busy doing my own thing throughout the game (such as chasing people, damaging gens).

Therefore if I give the most "useless" guy Hatch, I understand how you'd definitely feel frustrated but there's no point in directly blaming killers especially when they haven't been babysitting you all game to know that.

I understand that they don't know I'm talking about the survivor that is blatantly trying to kill off their team

  • @MadLordJack said:

How exactly are killers to know the specific details about what a survivor was doing all trial?

The survivor that gets pulled out of a cupboard and hooked twice comes to mind

  • @rats00 said:

Well, my guess is as a killer player maybe they have no ######### clue what the survivor you're mad at actually did.

So while you feel what they did was a crime worthy of posting about it, the killer probably doesnt have any idea about what you're angry at.

Or maybe it IS because they know the survivor is new and want to give them a break. Not everyone feels the appropriate response to an obviously new player is to humiliate them, waste as much of their time as possible once the game is essentially over, then shout all the slurs. All of them. Every one.

I'm all for giving the new survivors an escape but it's more the annoying "red rank" survivor that sits there with urban evasion, Dead Hard, Decisive and Unbreakable all they do is protect themselves and crouch around the map all game

  • @karatinac97 said:

If survivors had specific roles (character related or not), which would you be?

I think the roles are pretty self explanatory (hopefully) but free to interpretation. Tell us what perks and items you want associated with your role. Or which character best suits your role.

And if you're a straight up killer then feel free to pick a survivor role or discuss a killer role you'd like :)

The Mechanic I always find gens to do and help get them done otherwise it's sneaky snek to avoid killers

Them making it to a pallet safely in the first place is why the perk is strong. Dropping it to avoid getting hit is hardly wasting it.

Bummer that perk is needed for them annoying insta down killers like bubba always hurring right next to you throw the pallet on his head and move on if you can't counter it don't mean it's broken or OP

If you're gaining on them and their making a break for a pallet they clearly have something planned don't swing for them let them waste that pallet and carry on easy

"using it as training wheels and overrelying on it." Sounds like the survivor meta perks that have been untouched for years.

"Too many survivors are using exhaustion perks as chase training wheels and overrelying on them." See I can do it too. The reason people are mad is because they nerfed the killer meta only 4 months after the perks release despite very popular and overused perks on the survivor side being completely untouched.

If you can't counter an exhaustion perk then just leave uninstall your game and go every killer can stop that unless they're rank 20

  • Killer mains shut up about DS Unbreakable combo otherwise I'm gonna complain about bbq and ruin combo as soon as survivors find a way around your tunneling and camping you complain well here's a tip leave the survivor alone how about that little counter play never thought of that did you... Now let's get on and enjoy the game jeez

  • @Anniehere said:

I bought the game this Christmas and played as a killer only once.

    As the huntress.

Throughout the game, I could not find the survivors. I only found one survivor when they i had only 1 gen left, he was injured but managed to ran away.

When the exit was open, everyone stood there, pressing Ctrl and leaving away as I approached them.

I felt pretty sad. I couldn't find them, I lost them pretty quickly in the chase and at the end of the match they gave a kind of gesture that says "You're really bad, we're already out."

Since then I have stayed as a survivor. I have always loved this role, but at the same time I also want to be in the second role, with the power.

I watched videos, read questions that were all related to the killers in the game. And I came to the conclusion that the they are getting hate.

I want to play as a killer but a nice killer, who gives an easy "life" to survivors sometimes. but I'm afraid of the attitude I'm going to get from the survivors. because I'm not good as a killer.

I want to play as The spirit and The legion, but to tell you the truth, I have no confidence to play as killer because of what happened.

I know it will probably take me a lot of games until I get used to it and find survivors. But until then.. how do I deal with mean survivors?

Sorry to hear you had this experience sadly the way the game is set now you probably went against a bunch of red ranks and a swf (survive with friends) to boot best thing you can do is find someone who will let you practice playing killer with them in custom game so you can learn the mechanics and better understand the powers each killer has as for the toxicity best thing to do is chase them into the exit gates so they can't keep butt dancing in front of you or play as Ghost Face and butt dance back at them that's always a laugh hope you continue to play the game despite this issue just remember take regular breaks from the game otherwise you'll get really stressed out with it good luck

"Please Devs, Nerf all killers Who cant be looped please, Spirit and Nurse are OP because I dont know how to play against''

So can u please give me a consistent Spirit counterplay?

That doesn't involve perks or guessing. Thank you

Please devs nerf unfair perks like

Dead hard that makes survivors get through a pallet drop in time

Nerf DS because I can't tunnel and get stabbed for chasing and doing my target

Get rid of flashlights because of flashlight saves it's not fair

Please devs get rid of pallets because I'm tired of eating them all game

Please nerf borrowed time because I suck and can't chase other survivors I have to tunnel off of the hook

Oh and while you're at it Claudette is too dark I can't see her it's game breaking

Now do you see how you sound it's really whiny so just get over it some things need a change don't like it go play Minecraft should be GGEZ for you 🙊

  • Again it's on a timer should of just left her alone on floor to be safe she must have had about 2 seconds to use it left unlucky happens to the best of us but the biggest problem is his perks what a waste

  • @MasonOliver123 said:

    Why are keys not nerfed

    why is DS not nerfed

    things take time.

Because DS doesn't need another nerf it's on a timer don't tunnel and you'll be fine

  • Bloodlust is better removed from the game as it gives unrewarding hits

Infinite tier 3 Myers is OP

Wraith does not require add ons to be good

Pig is only fun for scaring survivors and not playing seriously

Bubba's chainsaw needs a nerf so he can't hug a wall and use it

Sorry, but console players often deserve to die on first hook.

You are just proving my point that pc players suck to play with not console players you claim to be superior in gameplay yet not one of you take charge and uses it to help everyone escape it's an us vs them mentality that is ruining the game at the moment

  • @JoeyBob said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1780347#Comment_1780347

It takes 5 seconds to disable. Survivor queue is actually better now when crossplay disabled before they added crossplay in the first place.

Furthermore, console players aren't fun to play with. They use a controller and tend not to be good at the game (I got sandbagged by then often). And you can't interact with them in chat.

Riiight console survivors are such a tedious thing to deal with not like you pc gamers I dunno leave us to die on our first hooks and get caught in situations we Coul have helped you in do us console players a favour and fix your ego

  • Had this today and once before really annoying against a tunneling Myers and devs won't acknowledge it's happening as it seems to be one off occasions

  • So killers can get an easy win no thanks its hard enough to open gates without getting caught doing so a full reset would unbalance the game entirely and when your the last survivor and killer closes the hatch then what you see me I run away and avoid getting killed only to have to risk it all again think I'd rather give you 4k if I'm honest

  • @OmegaXII said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1753454#Comment_1753454

100 % agree. I have so many survivors called me camper tunneller when they tried to unhook when i am still around.

It's a shame when BT and DS can save their asses in these situations where they make a grave mistake of unhooking when killer is nearby.

To avoid this I'll go for the saviour and if I lose that one and bump into the hooked one well they find themselves back where it all began... doesn't stop them moaning tho 😂

  • @SaltyNooty said:

So, to keep it short; the killer isn't straight face camping but they're terror radius camping. Its like they won't face camp you, but they won't let you out of their terror radius.

For the record, this isn't a strat; it's a crutch, muchlike NOED. This usually leads to tunneling, Slugging, and or straight face camping when the killer fails. I don't know why people call it a strat to win if you have to resort to camping yo get a kill; it's lowkey pathetic if you have to resort to that. It's not every day that I see people tunneling, face camping, or just going so low just to get a kill but its the ones who do that get really get me.

Usually, I see that in lower ranks and that's very often. I haven't been running into NOED often but I HAVE been running into campers and tunnelers. For the record, it doesn't make you any less of a bad killer if you have to resort to camping and tunneling to get your precious 4k; and no, again, it's not a strategy to win, it's a crutch.

A strategy is a plan something THAT you think up and roll out. To getting a better definition; this is what the dictionary says.

Strategy - Noun - a plan of action or policy designed to achieve a major or overall aim.

Camping does NOT fall under this pretext because you didn't plan it out, you just said "Okay, so I suck or I want my 4k so I'll resort to just making the game unfun for everyone and get what I want." That's right, I'm calling ya out on it. So, don't try to call it a strat.

Back to my main focus, Terror Camping. Yeah, so this lowkey ain't really fun for many because if you don't have deliverance; you're screwed. It basically says "That's right, I'm camping and i'll slug you if you Come any closer." This apparently works out with killers like myers, ghost face and stealth killers in general. This leads to the survivor being put in the second phase, The team rushing the killer, the survivor gets tunneled and it's an easy kill for the killer; again, not a strat, it's a crutch. I've seen people DC from this either because that killer is tunneling them and has a Mori, or because they were basically tunneled the whole game. *Not fun.* Can we work to avoid doing this?

Didn't plan it ha I always plan it if I see a survivor with a torch I plan to camp the sh*t outta them especially when they have paid for cosmetics so it is classed as a strategy just you don't know if they plan it out

  • @Teethgrinder83 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/206319/sighs-its-a-pyramid-head

I think survivor perks should be looked at more rather than scrutinising killers when talking about balance (which always seems to be the starting point). Perks like DS are used far too much, I find it unfun and boring to play around DS every single match without fail-imagine if NOED was used as much as DS is, there would be uproar

Decisive is worthless I use it to counter tunneling if you have to moan about it then clearly you tunnel git gud and chase other people

  • Oni, Deathslinger, wraith and Billy are probably the most balanced killers but depends more on the playstyle of the killers bring BBQ and instantly win really unless it's survive with friends and you have the communication to tell each other when you're gonna get hooked so they can duck into a locker before they see them that's mostly my observation on games I've played

  • @troy99 said:

I don't want to sound like seeking attention. I'm aiming to tell my reasoning with this little rant so if you wanna give some time to it, maybe you can relate to some of my problems with the game.

First off, I started playing since March 2020. I saw Bill's trailer on YouTube and I love L4D2. I also bought Dying Light for the same reason, the idea of a crossover game with many franchises sounded super cool. First times I was scared, it felt like a legit horror game. I also tried killer once but at my first game I faced with absolutely toxic survivors. I was playing huntress in haddonfield, one match that i could never forget. Eventually I learned few things and it started to not feel scary anymore. it felt like a frustrating competitive game. But is it even a competitive game when RNG is over the top? Just because of the high rng i think the skill matters to only some extent.

    • Latency is very frustrating. My hatches won't hit, my dead hard's won't work and i get exhausted on ground. i can't have fun with a badly programmed game. Now I don't know whether if i should blame dedicated servers or the community for asking for dedicated servers for this, but it is my biggest problem with this game.
    • They fix ONE bug, which brings at least FOUR more bugs. Sometimes I just think they're making up bugs just to tell they're bugfixing all the time. One thing I liked was Spirit's sounds during phase. I considered that as a shadow nerf but they fixed it. Can't even have good things accidentally.
    • Very few content. I can't explain how many times i went back to survivor tutorial just to get my running vault work properly. This game needs a practice mode where you can set scenarios, practice with the situations, and map exploring (especially for The Game). My friends do not play this game so I can't use Custom Game. I'm only limited with ranked matches and i keep going against red rank swfs when i'm just a green rank killer.
    • Complaining about toxicity doesn't but it's still a problem for me. Being an *sshole and mocking the opponent is something i don't comprehend. (t-bags, hook smacks, facecamping (which is a ######### strategy IMO), etc.) it's not f*cking funny c'mon.
    • Meta never changes. I really don't like second chance perks even if they're powerful. Map awareness and detection was always more important to me since I'm a solo Q, but the odds of using underrated perks are so low. IMO the meta BT, DS, DH and Adrenaline/Unbreakable is very clutch and boring. OoO is broken in certain maps. (Can't we ever have a MoM buff?)

I think this game has a great potential but currently it's in wrong hands. I'm not sure if it will be better with different coders but I really can't enjoy this game anymore. If you could relate to some of my problems then I'm happy. Thank you for reading my topic and i wish you good games.

Just saying I'm agreeing with all you're saying but the hatchets are kinda 50/50 I've had games where I've been hit trough walls and haybales but then others where it's supposed to hit and hasn't I think the whole huntress system is really bad with dedicated servers and the delay on both sides but I'm not one to complain I just silently rage. Also adding to this list the hill blockage hasn't completely been fixed as I now get stuck on the top sides rather than bottom and that's just as annoying it's almost like they couldn't fix it so they moved it hoping we wouldn't notice

See my stance is always "I am fine losing to the better party, unless they bm." For instance, as a deathslinger, on Hawkins, i was getting my ass handed to me. then, they start tbagging and stuff, so i decide ######### it, im not leaving this hook. and as a test, i turn around and walk 5 feet away, only to turn back and see ALL 3 of them, goofing around and generally going out of their way to pester me. I got 2k in a game i had no right to, and they said, and i quote "it's your fault for picking deathslinger."

I just dunno man, even when i swf with my buddies for fun, they give off this air of "dude this killer sucks so bad im killing it" and its like...this is a video game for fun. theyre tryna have fun to.

Totally understand your issue man I was recently tasked with getting 4 kills with spirit who I never actually play so figured yea since it's now skill locked I should do this easily but oh no in come the red ranks that trolled, t bagged, clicked and blinded me at every turn as well as being gen rushed it generally ruins the game but I don't see how they can lock killer switching if as a spirit who has been played once and all survivors escaped I then went up against this kind of team

  • This is his power it's a tough ability to avoid my only real problem is that when you run up against a wall and keep close to it he shouldn't be allowed to kill it should count as a hit on the wall and stop him using too many times have I been in a situation where I'm in an enclosed area and he's been able to down even tho it's hit a wall sideways

  • Survivor 7/10

    Killer 5/10

Struggle to blind killers and no great at looping but I'm semi competent and can run around a killer for 2 gens at least

With killer I can kill all survivors in a match as long as I have my noed and he's ruin without that I drop to a 3 lol

  • Personally I go there to watch them run out the game when I threaten them with my weapon especially when I have noed and one runs up to me thinking I'm just being silly ringing my bell pfft get real I'm luring you into a sense of safety so I can hit you and put you on the hook and get at least one kill 😂

  • Don't quit use their rage against them I let them message me then use their own patheticness to crush them further I bring a mori survivors cry and moan when they all have fancy torches I just use that against them if two or more of you bring a torch I'm gonna bring a mori end of and what's better is when you leave that one alive and it's the weakest link in the game that really gets the clickers annoyed

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/202031/basement-camping

Ah... the clarion call of the new Survivor. The Basement is the strongest point on the map for the Killer. If you don't want to end up down there, avoid it, or only go for it when you know the Killer is somewhere else. It is supposed to be strong, a nightmare. There are entire Builds (and Perks specifically designed) for the Basement dwelling Killer.

You can get in and out of the basement but it takes either good timing, luck, or a dedicated effort by multiple Survivors if you have a Dungeon Dweller. It can be done. It just take practice. But the best option is to avoid getting stuck down there in the first place. When running and looping, take yourself away from the Basement so the Killer can't get you down there without you struggling out. *Or your pals could body block, blind, and help by tempting and slowing the Killer down enroute.

Gee would be nice of them to actually help but most survivors are SWF and only look out for their pals and I'm going to help them but they leave me to die oh well guess I should just leave everyone on the hook then lol

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1706918#Comment_1706918

Your point is invalid... you will very rarely escape if your teammates reward the camping. And more often times than not, the killer will at least 2k by just camping alone, whether you reward or not....

You won't escape but your team might if you hold on to that hook it takes two minutes to die on hook and only a couple of seconds to do a gen so by hanging on you're forcing the killer to choose loosing gens or loosing a hook to stop gens most killers give up when they see gens popping all over the map

  • Nice idea however it won't work your mentality will only infuriate others who are really just playing for fun and the best thing to do is just not reward camping let the idiots run for the save but when the killer kills them all and you escape he'll realise his tactic is useless and won't earn him that bonus for no one escaped

Yeah I was playing killer on PS4 and after killing 2 players the other 2 (who were SWF) hid the entirety of the game. No gens were being worked on, nothing was being done. Only 2 gens were left and I circled each for a good 10-15 mins before finally finding someone hiding behind a rock. I of course downed and hooked them. The other guy never saved him and was hiding by hatch and escaped the second it opened. I reported them.

Please do something about this bc I know if I hadn’t of found them, they would’ve hid until I quit.

Calm down you found them what's the big deal it's not rule breaking in any way sounds like you're an entitled killer main

You don’t lose connection because of someone else’s lag though, it must be your connection that failed there.

also you could easily circumvent the penalty by just faking a loss of connection by turning of your router for example, so either there must be a penalty for every DC or none, it can’t be consistently seen how the DC occured

Normally I'd agree with you but I had someone on another Xbox and TV in the same house using my same connection and his was fine and everyone else on the match lost connection too dunno maybe it was just a one time silly thing but really annoyed me that I don't DC and I got a ban but suppose you have a point about people abusing the disconnection
