Mobility killers are the only one that work. Billy who can now insta-down and Blight can combo quite well because they can spread and regroup very quickly if needed.
Trapper and Deathslinger though are 90% chance loss as they can't really do much and are still extremely slow.
Nah now playing it and survivors have been nerfed noticeably and killers omega buffed which is not good when queques are so long for killers and for anyone enjoying both sides. Hillbilly instadown should not be in this mode it's too overpowering. Now I question why Oni was just not added in the mode. He is most well balanced killer and playable for console too.
I won all my games with wraith and trappers and huntress as my teammates. If your logic is killers with only 100% winrate work then for sure. As for now my winrate for wraith is 100% but only 3 games but all killer teammates had no mobility and 2 were new players.

2V8 | Developer Update : r/deadbydaylight
Trapper and Billy getting buffed. Huntress and Nurse see justified nerf. Also new classes for both sides looks fantastic. I see only 2 problems at least for me
Killer Classes
New Killer Class: Shadow
- Class Ability: When within 32 meters of a teammate, you gain Undetectable. Injuring a Survivors transfers the Undetectable effect to your teammate instead. This ability has a cooldown of 30 seconds.
- Info Ability: When your teammate initiates chase with a Survivor, reveal the Survivor for an additional 4 seconds.
This class sound completly weak trash, i mean whats a poin with undetectable status effect that work only on you with your teammate radius (means you do not get value cause survivors still can hear your teammate terror radius)
And second from all killers they can bring to mod they choose the most boring one (Spitit, Deathslinger, Blight). Its really dissapointment.
That shadow class might work agaisn't new players. Undetectable has never worked that well agains't solid survivors and we still have killers whose power is that... So I quess it's there for new players and it can occasionally throw some survivors off the quard and it means to be used killers staying together.
I agree the new killers are disappointing they could not bring worse ones for me personally. Both blight and deathslinger are super hard for console. Spirit is just huge turn off for me I don't like how she is played. Sight is most important for me. I suck when I don't see.
So my opinion is they should only brought one of them. Maybe blight as he is the most popular. They should 100% brought Oni and Legion very useable killers on console and fun for everyone. What I heard they can't bring licenced ones I would wanted to see Myers but probably not going to happen.

The mode was Survivor sided before this. They made it more so. Like why would a smart Surv pick anything OTHER than the Gen class?
STOP. BUFFING. GEN. REPAIR. AND ALSO. NERFING. GEN. REGRESSION.
Last time it was pretty well balanced. 55% kill rate supports that it felt more fair for survivors versus 1vs4 where killers stomps often. On killer side you had to work more often for wins but most matches were winnable.
Now for current state I don't yet have opinion first game I lost on killer with my lil bro we were rusty and faced solid team. He quitted after that and I switched to wraith and noticed he is omega buffed and got downs left and right I won even with potato trapper as my teammate with 2 gens left. We took time to kill first probably like 14th hook.
Tried one game on survivor and my team was stomped by blight and hillbilly 4 gens left. So my small sample size the more better playing side wins. However still too early to tell.

@TheArbiter said:
This is just the problem that is gonna occur with asymetric multiplayer games. Some people play to win, and some people play to have fun. Unfortunately even if BHVR implemented a "ranked mode" people who play to win would still enter the casual queue.
Ranked would be the real casual queque as it should have much tighter MMR so players to win would face players to win. And players playing for fun would face players playing for fun.
-
It does not take much thinking to get into conclusion finisher mori encourages more slugging. Before 4K was not really different from 3K but now you get cool kill animation at the end which is satisfying way to end the match for killer. So survivors saying slugging is more common in their games is believeable. My small sample size is that I went in my way to slug for 4K on killer only to end the match on mori.
Now dbd is more killer sided than other asymmetrical games I played. It requires more skill from survivors and is balanced now around average killers winning most of the time. Kill rates being around 60% and soloQ survivor experience is bad. 2
Playing killer klowns this weekend was different experience it was human sided and you could even kill the clowns and it took just few seconds to fix your escape route after finding right parts. Now clown sides was still fun and I won most games but it was mostly fair.

Yeah 50 is lot but it's doable if you have worst luck and you're altruistic. My longest is 10 straight loss too happened for me twice at least. There were couple games I could escaped but just not any luck. I

The most frustrating thing is playing solo Survivor and getting the usual teammates, then switching to Killer and get stomped by a 4 man swf or at the very least 4 good Survivors. This scenario happens way to often and it demotivates me to play this game more and more.
Yeah this but at least now for some reason I been getting more often easier survivors. But yeah you do just wanna quit the game when that happens. It sucks.

TLDR: Pleas do something about killer experience cause toxic survivors, broken matchmaker and gameplay mechanics cause many players to leave the game.
Hi, I've started as killer main. Played a bit, have a few hundred hours and started to notice a trend that makes this game uninspiring and not fun.Whenever a killer encounters a solo survivors it's easy win, sometimes to easy and games end really quickly. Whenever a killer encounters an organized group (called SWF) there is almost no way of winning because of all pallets, saves and OP survivor perks (DS, Off the Record, Dead Hard etc.). There is only one easy tactic of winning a game against SWF - tunneling, which is considered toxic and unfun. Therefore whole matchmaking comes to: you met solo survivors → you probably win, you met SWF → tunnel somebody off or loose the game.
After the game comes another abomination cause endgame chat is a place used for killer harassment and sending them worst wishes there can be. Reporting such players has no effect and even so, after them comes another team with a lot of bad experience to lay on the killer or laugh in their face if they won the match. Even when somebody just wants to play for fun this causes a lot of stress and frustration, killing all the joy of the game. What happened to polite "gg wp" after the game, either won or lost?
Another issue is earning bloodpoints: Everybody knows best way is to have 4-player party with Bloody Party Streamers or anniversary cake, while playing killer was the second way of earning points. That is no longer true cause of almost constant bonus for survivors from +50% to +150%. This makes playing killer sub-optimal for someone trying to grind bloodpoints for new perks and add-ons.
This causes a lot of players to resign from playing killer altogether and sometime to join for match or two on survivor. Lack of experienced killers causes issues with matchmaker which I've felt a few times where my ~700 hours was put against SWFs of 3k+ hours on each member which causes extreme frustration while playing. This causes me to consider quitting the killer so those SWFs will face another even less experienced killer. Soon there may not be enough killers for the game to work and what come then?
To anybody who plays survivor: Please restrain from mocking, threatening and laughing from killers in after game chat cause without this player you can't play this game anymore.
To game team: Please give us some reason to come back to plying killers cause right now it's just awful, frustrating and kills all the fun of the game. From patch to patch it's getting worse.
To anybody who considers this game killer-sided: find somebody with 7k hours and watch how they can carry the game. There is almost nothing killer can do.To answer your title this game has too many killers so if some of them switched for survivor we could see the bp bonus sometimes on killer too and 2vs8 would have more acceptable queque times. But what current situation tells killer experience is vastly superior to average solo survivor experience. But again if we had more survivors that would be good thing.
Killer is still the better role for bp even if survivor has 150%. You get also the bonus if 4 survivor run party streamers. It's easy to earn 30K base from match on lost killers. Survivor bp earning is just terrible without 100% bonus.
Now if endgame chat makes you feel bad don't read it and disable it from options. I mostly play on console so I don't have even option to see it personally would want to see it if I make people angry or did they have fun. Now times I played on pc most people don't write anything it's just empty even I played basement tunneling bubba.
I think toxicity is just problem that every game has because that just how humans are but you can try to minigate it. In my experience facebook is much more toxic place than dbd. In dbd it likely some teenager or just some young adult being angry but on facebook it middle aged adult who should act like it and not like an immature child.
-
Yeah because slugging I suggested killer having ability to mori one survivor during match who is on death hook. So your not forced to slug as killer either to get the mori and bp bonus.

@MrMori said:
Pro tip: The matchmaking completely falls apart when there is any kind of big disparity between the amount of killers and survivors queueing. But the real pro tip?
The time of day you play determines how hard your games are as well as how much BM are in them. At least for killer, here's how it goes:
If you play in the morning, around 7 AM to 12 PM, the games are pretty solid. Decent survivors, but not overly difficult, and overall matches are pretty balanced. From 12 PM to about 6 PM, the games are extremely easy. For some reason, super casuals that are having a day off play during these times. Between 6 PM to 12 AM, the games are slightly harder, but overall fine. Probably the most "balanced" time to play.
But if you play after 12 AM, aka at midnight… The games are hell. Absolute hell. BM. The worst post game chats you've ever seen. People showing up to your house after, trying to break in because they hacked the server to find your IP and tracked you down in real life after you killed them. Threats on your family, with them sending real pictures and addresses, as well as purchased travel tickets to find you.
Unless you're ready to experience hell on earth, don't ever play after 12 AM if you value your sanity, safety, and autonomy. Because they will find you. They will catch you. And they will destroy you. Both in game, and out of game.
Agree on matchmaking mostly. But late at evening after 10 PM my matches start to be lot tougher if I happen to play killer. For last part are you serious because that sounds like some horror movie.
-
Stats shows 2 and 3 man swf makes no difference so would unfair to nerf them and I might remember 2 man swf having lower escape rate than soloQ. Punishing 2 or 3 man swf will punish also soloQ.

@BlackRabies said:
Their powers are also fairly simple and straight forward with their power. Other killers i see being more difficult to add. Licensed killers prop can't. Killers like Plague that adds environmental props when there's already so much clutter. Some like Legion and Oni would beway too strong with even more survivors to mess up or powers are rather complex like Doctor or Knight.
Oni could be added easily with hillbilly treatment. His power would now only take one health state and in exchange give him higher turning rate and maybe bit more speed. Oni should be added rather than blight or deathslinger because those killers are not playable/viable on console. Blight, nurse and spirit are more OP than Oni and still all are in 2vs8 now on.
-
@Xernoton said:
95% is a bit exaggerated. Most people won't write something like: "Thank you so much for playing nice!" but a simple "gg" is definitely not uncommon.
I play the way I would like others to play as well and if anyone doesn't like that, then that's their problem. I don't violate any rules and many people have enjoyed playing against me.
I agree though that the thumbs up feature should have some effect. Maybe limit it in a way that you can only give a thumbs up to the same player every so often to avoid giving SWFs a huge advantage on that front.
At least you should able to see it if someone gives you thumbs up. In my games 90% of survivors act normally no matter side I play. Console players can't even write on chat and most probably still don't do that on pc.

Average chase in this game is above 1 min, wdym? If you can't chase 5 gens anymore, it doesn't mean there is no looping.
Where is that 1 minute? Average first chase time was showed to be years ago 40 seconds when maps were much stronger for survivors. Killer gets stronger longer match goes so chase times go even faster. 1 minute chase is very long in current dbd.

Yeah this is the issue. It's either the prestiges are shown for all, or now shown for all, in any lobby. That's the coding.
Yeah I have though it has something to do with coding but I imagine it's not too difficult to fix. Same as the bp bonus when they added 400% for survivor in 2vs8 and they had to disable bonus for 1vs4 as they could not put separate bonuses. That is getting fixed at least.

So you're strictly talking people on your friends list? Not the Killer and not solo randoms? That's fine if that's what you want but other than that it hurts the game
Pre lobby is before you have found match so only people you play with would see it. Killer or ramdoms will not be able to see it.

Check Crowman's post above as to why I think 62% being the highest is alright.
I read it and im not convinced. Dbd matches are more often either 3-4 escapes or 3-4 kills and not that many matches in between. So increasing kill rates can end up with killers getting most often these results 4K, 3K, 3K, 0K and that averages 62.5% kill rate.
-
@ChaosWam said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3803239#Comment_3803239
Problem with that is this game is far too nuanced to be around a 55% mark. It's also why it can't be around 50%, due to the nature of it being a 1v4. The 1 still needs some power over the 4, and it's pretty evident when you face a lot of good players at higher MMRs. People like to think it's a 1v1v1v1v1, but ever since SWF was introduced (in my experience) it really has geared towards the 1v4 aspect, and really BHVR should make changes to embrace that and give SoloQ tools to play less selfish and assist their team without giving SWF even more ammo.
Think about how nurse sits so low despite being the top tier killer. As well as SoloQ and SWF differences, map variations, killer power variations, perks and how often survivors bring them, that sort of thing. We also have to keep in mind how many survivors there are in lower tiers dying left and right because they don't understand all the different things in the game nor have immediate access to better perks. I even saw a post somewhere asking if a Myers was hacking because he was able to straight up kill people not knowing about Tombstone. It's also why I think Freddy has a higher killrate despite being one of the worst killers, I sure remember going against my first Freddy and having no idea what was going on at the time. That said, a 58% mark wouldn't be a bad compromise either, but the other issue is varying killer power. Weaker killers will suffer from any wide nerfs more than the stronger ones.
I still think at this point in the game, having a compendium covering every killer, their power, perk, addon and gameplay tips provided by, say, the Fog Whisperers or the community even would be a better step toward bridging some of the gaps. A lot of newer players don't even read patch notes or understand the changes and how they effect the killer or perk. With a compendium being updated every new chapter or change, it could help at least cover some knowledge gaps.55% was lowest he suggested and 60% highest. So average of 57,5% kill rate. I think that would be the most healthy for the game. As now we can see with 60% kill rate big part of playerbase is having bad time soloQ. So I think 62% kill rate will be too high, especially considering last time I saw kill rates, average was 59%.
So I would lower the kill rate down to 57-58% by solely doing buffs that benefit soloQ survivors. Kindred basekit and seeing the anticamping progress would be good start.

OP is talking about pre-lobby, though. It's a lobby you only see if you're putting together a SWF. No harm in showing prestiges there.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3802254#Comment_3802254
Lobby shopping is when you leave a lobby to get better looking teammates or weaker looking opponents, based on prestige, cosmetics, held items, and certain signs that might signify a SWF.
Good someone understood and yeah no harm is done showing it with friends in pre lobby. I imagine the reason is technical one and they would have to change code so that's why they hide prestiges from all lobbies but I imagine it's not too hard to change though just some extra work.
-
@TheArbiter said:
BHVR said themselves the reason they removed it was to prevent lobby shopping
What that has to do with friends seeing each other prestiges in pre lobby when waiting to find match/lobby? I already know my friend prestiges just about so there is no reason to hide it.

Just wish there was a point to having brown, yellow, green, and purple rarities of medkits since they are all the same. Clutters up the bloodwebs and just feel pointless. I think removing brown and yellow medkits would be better while revisiting some other items like keys and maps to improve their usefulness/versatility.
Oh god no. If you want to go that route suggest removing purple and green med kits. No-one want's to use 7000 bp for item that is barely useable.
-
They were over nerfed we all know that if we can think outside of bias. They were too strong before but solution should been balancing the med kits. Gray med kit is fine how it is now but other med kits should have more charges and faster healing better the tier is etc. Just 5% speed boost per tier and 8 more charges to yellow and purple would do med kits tiers meaningful. I think even bigger buffs would bd fine.
-
We can only hope it comes back soon. I don't understand the negavity just because queques. That can be fixed with some work and if 1vs4 really suffers... it is because survivors don't want to play it in some regions. In europe for example my queques were instant though in 1vs4.

That became their ideal after their numbers were at 60%. I guess they figured it would be easy to just shoot for a 60/40 split instead of nerfing killers down to a 50/50. Their target last year was a 50/50 split.
Kill rate has always been above 50%. Lowest was probably around 53% before 6.1 update. So I don't think target ever been 50/50 and that would be too easy for survivors. As shown even 53% was clearly too low and most killers were struggling. But now we also know 60% is too high given how terrible soloQ is now and many maps are just nuked. So something like 55-58% kill rate should be the goal.

You['re mixing up 60% kill rate and 60% win rate. A 60% kill rate isn't a 60% win rate. A 60% kill rate is very slightly higher than getting a 2K on average per match (which would be 50%). A 62.5% kill rate would be 2.5 kills on average. Essentially, a 60% kill rate means roughly 2.4% kills per match when averaged over several matches. This ends up meaning, on average, killers get a 2K vs a 3K every other match which generally gives them slightly under a 50% win rate if you define a 3k+ as a win.
But that would mean killers never lose. 2K is a draw so if that worst result then can't deny the game is not killer sided. Likely the 60% kill rate is pretty close to same as win rate for killers. Generally you either win get 3-4K as killer or lose get 0-1K and not that many matches in between.
-
Yeah modifiers should have 200% bonus bp if offerings can't be used.
-
It's same as regular stomp solos as killer and lose agains't swf. That mode is probably even more one sided in that direction given all information for solo players is almost removed. In swf you can communicate all that so swf are going to be even stronger in the mode.
For OP play other side too survivors got their perks removed as well.
-
If skull merchant is getting qutted I imagine 90% playerbase would thank devs for that. She is the most disliked killer so lot of people are gonna be happy.
-
Self healing was nerfed too much med kit tiers should be different with more charges and faster healing. Selfcare was fine with the speed before maybe the amounts could been limited instead just reducing the speed and I think it was nerfed because it was popular.
-
Let's hope 2vs8 comes back soon then this game might be playable again for soloQ. It's more casual and fun mode so even losing it's not that bad in it. Only really bad con of 2vs8 was that all my friends quitted or have taken long break after it left so I don't play much anymore. 2vs8 just needs to be pernament.
Also I could endure soloQ before when I didn't know how much better things could be. 1vs4 soloQ just feel you never really have chance. I kinda feel just giving up on hook. Really you need the killer to mess up badly to have chance to win.
I quess it's only killer for me to left to play but even that was lot more fun in 2vs8 and the bonus is on survivor all the time so then I just close the game. No-one barely uses cakes anymore so just bp earnings are so small.
-
No
-
Yeah well I haven't played survivor for week and decided to try today and immediatelly killer just tunneled someone out. He got the survivor out and then started tunnel next but we managed to finish gens. Ofcourse the killer then had noed and my stupid teammate went for unhook immediatelly when gates were not even started to be opened.
I managed to open my gate but was downed on the line with noed. Yeah I don't think I play survivor another week. This games just not fun after 2vs8 left. Bring it back permanently. All my friends have quitted or went for long break after 2vs8 left.

Before I start, no I’m not saying p100 survivors are bad, they’re just not impressive…at all
P100 is supposed to be a feeling of reward and skill in a character…but there’s no character skill for survivor, just survivor skill across all. P100 survivors are usually
1: a simp for their character
2: a fan of their license
3: they have a cool skin they got and will never take it off
P100 killers likely learned that killer to the max and stuck with that character despite so many more options to play. If it’s not nurse/blight/spirit they knew that their character likely has super bad weakness that probably made it miserable to play. Top tier dedication.
I did calculation recently that I have prestige my killers 200+ times after 6.1. I just have not dedicated that all to one character. I could do that to one simply never playing them just keep updating one character.
Survivors I have prestiged 300+ times and some survivors are simply much better than others. So I have 2 P100 survivors and many high prestiges. Butbig reason why I did that was to show off in lobby. That I can't do on killer. However as prestiges are hidden now I will focus most bp on killer. All P100 characters are as impressive to me but main thing is showing it off.
-
No but it was mistake to hide them though. I do hope they add in future real reward for P100 that grind is much more massive than what people had to get legacy skins. So reward is deserved it could be simply just P100 charm even.
-
My most played survivor is feng ming so my gender would change... I would think it's dream and try to wake up but I quess I would go to gaming place see if I got her gaming skills.
I don't really have main killer maybe Oni at moment. I could use his rage mode to be like some sort of antihero.

Fortnite is also larger with a much bigger playerbase than DBD… but I agree. Survivor needs more to do besides gens and looping.
Fornite has slipped it playerbase in so many modes and has still not issue with queques. The problem dbd has that everyone wants to play killer. The problem is not playerbase even if dbd was as big as fortnite the queques would be same. So the solution is to improve survivor experience in 2vs8.
For me 1vs4 had no queque issues after first week both modes can easily co-exist. 2vs8 probably will always have longer killer queques but goal should be reduce them around 5 minutes.

For now and I quess we who have 100% the game are below 0,05% of players.

OK, but the queues in NA were abysmal. I literally had to take a two week break because I got bored of 2v8 and could not get into a KIller game in 1v4. For two weeks.
It cannot be permanent in this state no matter how good or how much better some people found it to be than other modes.
Yes it should be pernament just some regions need to be increased. If queques are issue it just tells no-one wants to play 1vs4 expect solo killers in your region. In future they definetely should make survivor role more appealing I don't doubt that.
But 2vs8 just shows lot of people only play survivor in 1vs4 because they have no other choise. Fornite has dozens of game modes and it has no issues with queques. Dbd has problem with survivor role being too boring we definetely have enough players for multiple modes. Friday 13th is basically death game bit has still instant queques…

Like a year and a half back or so they tightened the matchmaking up significantly. The result was longer queue times for most players, and the sweatier players complained when they only got sweatier players to go against. The loudest complaining came from streamers who started to get burned out due to stressful match after stressful match repeatedly.
So the skill levels started to balance out some, but they didn't like it. And as for queue times, each and every time community gets asked whether they want faster queues or quality matchmaking, the resounding answer is always for faster queues.
So basically players do not want to wait, want fairish trials, but not back to back sweating either. I don't envy the devs figuring that one out. 😕
Imo the best way to improve matchmaking is to continue to work through the reasons players lobby shop & dodge. When players leave lobbies the awful backfilling happens. The longer people wait the worse it gets, until the system just grabs whoever and throws them in. Maybe it's no lobbies at all, I'm not sure. Not showing Prestiges should help some.
Well I don't get it why listen to streamers over most players. They should definetely had it more harder I see them mostly sweating as their life on line well as it's their job. They can always start to play more chill and get to MMR bracket where they suppose to be.
But probably problem streamers has their own community who defend them. Myself I don't find appealing watch someone else play. I certainly would not watch players who can't handle facing equally skilled opponents. That makes them actually bad at the game.
I do find most players would like having better matchmaking over short queques it's just loud minority who complains. I think lobby shopping should be made punishable. 3 minute ban like tcm did is good solution. Probably the lobby should be just hide entirely.

There was already a meta midway through week three.
The mode has issues and should not come back until ALL of them are fixed. The queues cannot handle it.
It still had far less issues than 1vs4. If you mean tunneling in 2vs8 that happened rarely and was often more back luck. But in 1vs4 that happens half the games and meta is worse. Queques handled it well in europe at least.

Because if you read the post, the person clearly stated that they "played really mean".
They didn't say how many times survivors just immediately gave up. Playing "mean" often makes survivors just ragequit and nope out of the match as fast as possible, especially since there is literally 0 penalty to doing so now that deranking is no longer a thing. In fact, from personal experience, i can say that probably half of my matches, someone just gives up as soon as they see whatever killer i'm playing and don't like it, or they get outplayed, or the first chase is "Too quick" and i think that is what is inflating kill rates to such a high level.
I plan on doing a similar experiment as well soon, and will include how many times survivors give up, as well as recording all of the games.
He might not have anyone really give up. No matter how mean I play I never have those survivors who give up. It's only after I have already won so giving up does not affect kill rates much at all in my experience.

2vs8 really lessened my interest on survivor in 1vs4. I really liked the faster pace and now im just bored in 1vs4 fixing almost 2 minutes long gens. When I could fix them in 30s with mate in 2vs8. Maybe I just need to run around trying flash saves at least that's fun. My mates in soloQ won't touch gens in 1vs4 anyway I was only one doing them so after one game I had enough. Whereas 2vs8 I played 9 hours a day on average without getting bored or frustated at all and it made me even buy lot of cosmetics.
