If true that does sound too harsh considering you can get dc penalty if your internet does not work perfectly. Sometimes you can face hackers who can take you hostage so you might have no choise than to play that match.
-
Not counting progress towards the achiement on my xbox seems it's bugged.
-
I have same issue with this feng outfit
-
I support this the older colors were much better for dbd as an veteran player new ones put me really off. This is not fortnite.
-
Im not getting this shirt for feng ming for some reason? I got the dress and hair though...
-
This time around it's more killer sided. Last time we had 2 less gens, herbs and hooks changed locations. Next time I hope survivors get more stuff.
-
I have been enjoying him a lot. Maybe he is bit too fast. But I think buffs makes him more easier to play for console players which is good.
-
My biggest issue would be when survivor abandons match the killer still gets the kill at least. But if killer abandon match survivors will not get the escape. If they add killer bots then it's different.
But personally I think abandoning match is bit too easy now. I think last survivor should not be able to abandon match immediatelly maybe after like 30 seconds is fine. But when killer slug multiple survivors then the current mechanic is good.
-
I escape maybe 30% of times. Very often when survivors are about to lose someone dc. So 40% is not reality. Killers dominate most of the time and matches were escapes happen killers usually throw.
-
I expected it would been closer vote to 50/50 based on the critisism here on forum.
-
I vote for extension, Im having lot of fun on both sides. But for next mode I hope I can get some flashlights. I have found finding one is almost imposible even I search every chest... And would be nice if prestiges were shown in end screen.
-
Current 60fps is inprovement what I used to have in older xbox (probably 30fps in dbd). But yeah now I would like to have 120fps.
-
He is not good in 1vs1 chasing but he is insane creating pressure in 1vs8. Even if he is more of an support killer does not make him weak. He makes it easier for his mate and I find it easy to get downs in 2vs8 with him. If we do bit comparision go trapper who is also basically support and he needs lot of time to set those traps. Slinger is also slow for example and cause no pressure for the survivor team. Legion really is only behind the high tier killers in this mode and he is easier to play.

I might be in the minority, but I think Go Next Prevention will be a disaster without some serious nuance built into it on top of vastly improved matchmaking. There is zero reason that the developers should expect survivors to stay in a game when a survivor is dead at 3 gens, or other near zero win probability situations. This is not community service. It's a video game, and it's supposed to be fun.
When players say they find half their trials unfun, they mean it. When you put together disposable matchups, players will treat them like it (disposable). It is so beyond entitled to sit there and penalize going next over fixing your matchmaking algorithm that puts players in unwinnable games 25% of the time.
Yeah I think it's going bit overboard. Just remove chance to do hook suicides that the most complained way to go next and I think it's too easy right now.
System like that could cause penalties when someone just ended up playing badly and takes away chance to play farming games with killer. Every game would have to be played competively then I quess.
Surrender option should be available in 2vs1 when one is slugged on the ground so the match don't drag too long.

Im not sure, but I swear this time, I scaped like 70-80% of my matches as solo q in 2v8. I found it very enjoyable this time. It might be because of playing most times on mid day, like 4-5pm instead of late night like 9-10pm where the sweatlords play
Same for me it's more survivor sided even in soloQ if killers don't know what they are doing and most of time they don't. Good swf killers are still tough to beat. I do win most games on killer in 2vs8 as well. Maybe im just lucky I dunno but I do super well on both sides.
-
That's your opinion does not make it true for everyone else. Most of issues they have done fixes. Survivor side in mode need more changes to make it more interesting still. I escape most games in the mode but it still lack something what 1vs4 has even that mode is super killer sided and solo survivor is miserable.
2vs8 is definetely great for solo survivors but for swf 1vs4 is great with more things to do so many of them rather play killer they finally can do it together and it's so much fun. Few things that comes to mind 2vs8 lacks.
- There is no items and add ons. Items should be available at least.
- Fun perks like dh/ds can't be used this could be fixed with more classes.
- More fixing gens and heals compared to 1vs4
- Prestiges are not shown at the end screen. I hate I can't show my dedication to the game. First iteration had prestiges shown.
-
He is too common I had him 5 matches a row with blight.
-
I would even go as far and say 2vs8 has greatly improved queque times in 1vs4. Before I had to wait 5 minutes or even more to get survivor match now both queques are fast in the mode.
-
@AlchemysticWitch said:
Especially since they added bots. Now no-one wants to play survivor in 2v8. Killer queue times are 30+ minutes, and this affects the 1v4 queue times as well. This is the least amount of fun I've had in DbD ever.
How it affect 1vs4 queques? To me this seem to be false. I have instant killer queque in the mode. Now they did improve 2vs8 so there is max 1 bot and what I notice bots even go for saves in endgame unlike players who often just leave.
-
@ChurchofPig said:
The big issue that the developers aren't seeing that I feel a lot of players are seeing is that, the reason queue times aren't going down is because they've made 0 changes for survivor gameplay between the iterations of the mode where killer gets changes every time. The 1 change they did make for survivor though, was immediately met with backlash on the forums and alright responses other places creating a net neutral. If they're really interested in making changes for the better of queue times, they need to stop focusing on it as a queue time issue and more as a survivor gameplay issue. Why would I queue up for 8 gen simulator and getting downed in 2 seconds from being double teamed when I can just run around as Legion stabby stabbing at the speed of light while my teammate gets hook after hook after hook? One sounds so much more fun and interactive than the other.
Yeah but in 2vs8 you can escape much more than in 1vs4 but that does not seem to matter to swfs who probably rather play killer with their mate. 2vs8 improves killer experience tremendously for those with friend to play with or who have anxiety to play alone. But survivor experience is qutted in many ways. You can't take items to matches and many enjoy using flashligh. You only have small chance getting one from chest.
Many survivors want to interact with killer and that is more limited. Sabo saves aren't thing either. I think class which has dead hard ability would be good. Devs should definetely add classes with popular perks as abilities or make new ones more.
-
I got into few matches during day quickly in under 5 minutes. But other than that they feel same now about 10-15 minutes.
-
I would give them stronger loops and maybe one more health state instead more hooks. I find 8 players fine but problem is we have too many people wanting to play killers instead so that's why I think actual 2vs6 might be viable option. Giving survivors some big buffs like that should made the side interesting. Most people don't want to play with bots.
Other options could be try to make them useful. Make them less afraid of terror radius and make them go for saves in endgame instead leaving the actual persons to die...
-
@I_Cant_Loop said:
I honestly had a lot of fun playing as survivor in the previous 2v8 events. The buffs they gave to survivors last time made survivor feel pretty good to play. As a solo queue player, it felt a lot easier to escape in 2v8 than 1v4. I guess I’m just surprised that more survivor players didn’t enjoy it. Too bad BHVR nuked survivor experience into the ground with this event
I still escaped today lot more than in 1vs4 but probably because killers were chasing bots and letting us repair gens. For chasing the bots can be good distraction but for anything else they're not that useful.
But the biggest problem this mode has is lot of people want to play killer with friend much more than people want to play it alone. But survivor experience is still close to same and even there are less fun things. Survivors enjoy using dh/ds that kind of perks and flashlights are really hard to get. More classes and adding chance to take items could help bit.
-
@OrangeBear said:
The queue times are just unhealthy. I think survivor is just not appealing enough to play. Killer is though, because it offers an entirely new experience in the form of co-op play. Survivor is double the team size and you roughly have half the impact on the match. It's a bit chaotic yet the lack of significance of each individual player makes it not very engaging.
People have criticised the decision to add bots to the queue, however you may feel about this decision it is an attempt to address a very real problem being the queue times. Previously, they tried to make survivor more fun, however that also didn't reduce queue times sufficiently. And now that the queue times still aren't noticably better after adding bots, a solution that to me seems pretty last resort, what are they supposed to do next?
In my opinion i think we should just move past 2v8, but explore new options for co-operative killer play. For example maybe 2v4, but gens take half the time or there's a different objective entirely.
I just feel that 2v8 has overstayed it's welcome, it's not worth the queue times anymore. How survivor has been really tried to make fun? Sure there is flashlight and pallet saves added but that is only one thing and you can't even get flaslight in match so it's only very minor change in the end. Adding items could help this a bit. If survivors can use flaslight regularly the mode will be more fun for them. Butif we were go change the mode just do 2vs6 instead 2vs4.
Survivors should have something for situation when 2 killers are teaming on them but this is not happening very regularly in my games anymore most killers spread pressure.
Longer endurance after unhook should be thing though even tunneling is lot less of problem than in 1vs4. Class with dh/ds would be popular too survivors like things they can interact with killers and there is not enough them in 2vs8.

if 500% BP gain wouldn't worked then just increased to 700 or 800 till it works
and they could add a new class, a Witch Class to be more specific that can Boon the totems and give some sort of Buffs
Instead giving massive bb bonus they could give small amount of shards that could be even more effective. Also why not add pipping as well.
I think there could be class which has anti-tunneling and survivors should be able to take items in match but not addons to them.
-
The bots only make things worse for survivors when that side is really needing improvements not nerfs. I played one game and the bots did at the beginning one gen when killers were other side of maps but after that they did nothing and it was 2vs6 with 7 gens to do.
Killer side has been fun to play but it's too easy that I start to feel just bad for other side . I just won match even I had family members distracting me and screaming and I could barely focus.

And? You'll still need to 3 hit survivors and since there is 8 of them good luck with that
There are only 6 survivors and 2 bots which don't count. 1

It's sad that they chose the easy, but controversial and potentially damaging solution, when they could have done anything else.
• The old quick play feature could have been brought back, maybe also with a small iri shard reward for using it, so there is a motivation for it.
• The 400% BP bonus could have been brought back, and the BP gains in game could be increased.
• They also could have made it so playing a set amount of survivor matches gives you a priority ticket next time you queue up as killer.
And so much more could have been done.
Yup and they could first try to add new stuff for survivors for example items so bp is useful or more chests. When I played 2vs8 on survivor items were something I missed. Survivors need something if both killers team up agains't them.

1: Items - I thought about this in comparison to improving chests. It's definitely an option.
2: Addons - While I would welcome the BP, I think BHVR's theory is that long term this would destabilize the overall game. 10 cakes in a match would be quite a thing.
More broadly, I think the idea of 2v8 is to reduce some of the sweaty elements in pre-game selection. And I welcome that part, though I understand opinions differ, but they definitely need to think to think of something about offerings or it will always be a weird missing point of the game.
Addons only change killer powers. But for offerings I think they should let all other offerings used though just not anniversary cakes. Last time the 150% bp bonus was not much at all.

So, making it like Friday the 13th?
Hmm. That could work.
Although I don't know if players would be happy with only a random chance of being a killer.
Also killer clowns game does it and seems to be working. But for now devs should first try different solutions but not bots. I actually would like to see the mode stay longer first as my queques on killer became faster and faster in last days so the novelty eventually wears off and many return to play back to survivor.

@OnryosTapeRentals is correct that 2v8 is fundamentally flawed in many ways. But I'll give it a go on how they can make it more fun.
1: A few more classes, and more variety within the class. As an example, let the escapist choose from different exhaustion perks for their personal use (though keep sprint burst as the aura perk).
2: Ultimates that actually make the game interesting. Scout has a good one. A player has to think about where to rebuild a pallet, do you waste time going for the best location or just use it nearby, do you get off a gen to do it, etc? The medic and gen guy have ults that can be powerful, but don't make the game more interesting, and the escapists is just kind of garbage.
3: While balance has been improved substantially, there is still the core issue that the best killer strategy is to tunnel someone out right away. The catch up mechanic needs to be designed more around this than the hook states (and/or they need to consider other base kit measures).
4: Killers should be encouraged to be apart, not together. From a balance perspective, killers teaming up isn't an issue, from a fun perspective it is. It's a boring game to be surrounded by two killers (and boring for the other 7 survivors doing gens).
5: Killer classes should be tossed entirely and replaced with something akin to current addons to allow customization by killer (okay, not a pure survivor issue, but I think it would make the mode a lot better).
6: Make chests more interesting and/or powerful. This could be done by either reducing randomization so survivors that want a particular item can try and find it, or increasing the power of items to justify the randomness.
7: Unless they add a boon class, give some reason beyond BPs for totems.
8: Allow those who play survivor to get priority in the killer queue (again, not a fun issue, but would balance queues out a lot better than just putting in bots).
You have some good ideas I would also prefer add ons so bp would be useful. Also would want items to be added for survivors so bp useful for both sides and make the game more fun. I still would give survivor buff who is chased by 2 killers at same time to give them bit of fighting chance.

Same here. I was not excited for 2v8, I really dont like this mode (I dont want to play with more randoms than I have to in 1v4 already and I dont think it is really exciting as Killer, since there is not really a challenge… Plus you can get griefed by the other Killer player, which also did not really made me like the mode more after I sat in a queue for 20 minutes).
But I want to play even less with Bots involved. I think Bots were a big mistake for the game, there is 0 difference for the Survivors if there is a Bot or a DCed teammate. Just yesterday I watched a Bot trying to blind a Killer while the Killer is walking towards them (something only Beginner Survivors would try) and then missing the DS when picked up. And this is supposed to be helpful? I advice everyone to just spectate a Bot if they get the chance to do it and then somebody should tell me that the Bot is better than just one less player.
IMO if they decide to implement Bots into 2v8, this clearly shows that something is wrong with that mode. I get it for PTBs, but if a gamemode requires you to implement Bots for one side, then clearly that side is having problems which should be solved. But I doubt they can be solved.
I honestly think (and have written already) that they should make 2v8 a PvE-Mode where 2 Killers can play against 8 Bots. This way Killers could play with a Friend without having to sit in 20 minute queues and without Survivors having to play with Bots. I dont think this is ideal either, but I think it is a better solution than the bandaid-fixing they try at this point with 2v8.
I rather see them do what other games do, you can't choose role only preference. But anyway last time my queques were instant in 1vs4 and around 5 minutes in 2vs8 in the last week so I think solving is not that difficult. Most killers switch back to playing survivor too once the novelty wears off. Problem is the less populated regions that don't have many players in the beginning.
-
Maybe because often anonymous killers play more scummy. They either tunnel really hard or slug to bleedout and do the killer tbag. That has been my experience too often so it can be reason for some.
But it's not just killers, anonymous survivors are either toxic or hackers in my experience too often as well.

chaos shuffle was fun, 2v8 was a neat idea. Lights out was cool. But really, do we need to play the same 3 game modes every few months. I wouldn’t mind if they where annual or semi annual but it is getting boring having them keep re-introducing the same modes will make them boring.
Well I have to ask if you get quickly bored to limited modes how you are not bored to regular dbd mode?
2vs8 never gets boring for me and is more fun/casual mode and I would play it a lot even if it became pernament.
Chaos shuffle and lights out I can see getting boring eventually as they are modifiers. But seeing them in every few months does not do that. I would like to even see them bit more often or new modes at least.
-
I don't get those stats on email what most post here but here my console last year stats pretty accurately.
-
Longest match was when I was hidden with another survivor in springwood one of the houses until killer went AFK in 2vs1. Then we fixed remaining gens and escaped but it took almost 50 minutes.
Shortest normal match probably agains't bubba who downed us all somehow with same chainsaw using lethal in less than 30 seconds. He had the iri add on extending chainsaw with each down.
-
I don't have idea been wondering the same thing.
-
Even the match is probably unwinnable at that point you can still try to pip, farm bp and complete challenges. So you can still play the game and. I don't tend to stick though on these kind of games too long though and I take the aggro on killer so he takes me out and maybe one of my teammate can escape.

This isn't a problem with genrush. It's a problem with coordinated 4-man teams breaking the game with unfair advantages of communication and coordination of perks. BHVR has made it pretty clear they're never going to do anything to address this unfair advantage, so you have a few choices. 1) Suck it up and be a survivor punching bag when you get into a match like this; 2) lobby dodge; or 3) stop playing the game altogether. Those are the choices that BHVR have given killer players to deal with an uneven playing field.
How often that kind of swf killer faces? Answer is very rarely. Most swf are just average maybe cause some more work for killer. But reality is most matches on killer are easy to win and killer has significant advantage over soloQ that you could call unfair.

Increasing generator times to 90 seconds was one of the biggest mistakes they ever made. Holy guacamole the objectives in this game feel SO sluggish as survivor. If you're not being chased then the gameplay literally boils down to holding M1 for ~100 seconds x 5. It's absolutely mind numbing.
Yeah and every killer I played agains't recently run pentimento, thanatopia or pain res so 100s+ gens seem right. Many maps have been butchered. So survivor is not fun but instead just stale. That's why I barely play anymore probably return when 2vs8 comes back now I only play bit just to finish winter tome.
Killer side not currently enough enjoyable for me either. I quess is that I have never enjoyed playing alone pvp games.

I don't think devs are scared about 2v8.
The ones who are really scared, are the people who play exclusively killer, especially those on this forum.
Because they finally realize, that for years people have played survivor not because it is "easy", but simply because it's the role that allows you to play with friends.
When the ability to play with friends appears on the killer side, suddenly everyone wants to play killer.
If 2vs8 was permanent, killers would have to get massive nerfs to rebalance queue times. Which is a complete taboo here.
You are into something...

I'm not negative over a fun game mode. The game mode is fine enough and a good idea, and yes, popular and good. I'm not a fan, but I think it's fine. I'm just very realistic about how bad the mode has screwed up queues, and I'm worried if it's made permanent it will ruin the game to the point of killing it.
My comments aren't said out of negativity or hatred for the game mode. My comments are out of love for this game and wanting it to not die because some people prefer a game mode that is half of what the actual game is, because they don't want to admit they don't like really hard games and they simply need a break from it.
I criticize stuff I don't like in the game, in the hopes BHVR will look at why I and others are saying this, and prevent the game from suffering for a limited event mode that is slowly growing more people that dislike it over time with each iteration. I don't doubt there will be an even larger group of people who don't like this mode next time, same as with the other modes and events. It's very likely this mode will lose its novelty if made permanent, too, meaning only the people who want easy Killer stomps and simple Survivor gameplay will play it. That's not bad, and would fix queue times, but is that really the experience you want for the game? It's not for me.
Those who dislike the mode don't obviously have to play it but seem they are minority given how popular the mode is. Dbd definetely has enough playebase to support multiple game modes. It's just how to make both sides interesting.
1vs4 is way too easy on killer that's makes 2vs8 more popular for survivors because it's more fair and balanced. Matches are mostly tight in 2vs8 instead stomps like in 1vs4. If 2vs8 comes pernament 1vs4 need some balancing. 2vs8 was more enjoyable for killer too when you have to work for the win.
Im sure the queques can be balanced. My 1vs4 queques were however completely normal last time. So seems more of region thing so making some of them bigger could be good solution.

Making 2v8 permanent would lead to extremely long queue times, potentially lasting for a month or more. This would significantly harm the game during that period. I hope they just remove the mode permanently, but I know that probably won't happen. I have no idea how they can fix the queue issues with 2v8.
Last time 1vs4 queques went quickly to normal I don't know this time but seems more to be region problem. When 2vs8 comes pernament the novelty wears off and players play 1vs4 again too. 2vs8 fixes tunneling/camping and offers better soloQ experience. So it's much more enjoyable mode for casual players.
My killer queques were about 5 minutes in 2vs8 last days so pretty quick. If the queques are only problem you have with mode why don't you suggest solution?
-

This mode will never truly succeed until the Devs make it so queues aren't uttelry destroyed for 1v4 every time the mode is on. They managed it with every other event and mode, so why is this one so problematic? Is it because it's double the players? It has to be, it's more than just the mode being very popular.
At least it's literally only three days this time.
If 2vs8 was pernament 1vs4 queques should be fine but now when it's temporaly everyone wants to play it. Other fact survivor is much easier in 2vs8 so why they should play survivor in in 1vs4? Ofcourse big reason is many want to play killer with someone else too.

brightness setting for consoles
Yes, please. Plus, the long-overdue controller settings like Dead Zone and Response Curve.
To think, BHVR has actually removed very useful QoL features that benefited console. Like the "Previous" and "Next" shortcuts for cycling through characters. Or having a shortcut button on the controller for accepting a SWF invitation.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/433267/dbd-needs-to-finally-listen-to-us
moris for killers
There's no official word on this, but it feels likely that these are in the works. Adding the finisher mori suggests BHVR wants moris to be common. If moris are common, players will quickly grow tired of the existing mori animations. This will make new moris up for purchase a lot more enticing and profitable. I'm surprised this hasn't been implemented already, but maybe BHVR is more focused on the Legendary cosmetics which come with unique moris. Mori animations for sale individually would have to cost less than Legendary cosmetics, probably by a lot, so maybe it's just more profitable for BHVR to stick to cosmetics.
The old killers are in desperate need of some new moris… I'd love to see a new mori available for Trapper, that way Trappers other than Naughty Bear can finally have some fun.
Oh yes the old way to cycle through characters was so smooth on console how that was removed I can't believe it. Now it is so painful everything is so painful now even customizating outfits... We are going backwards all those recent changes should be reverted.

You gave me good laught today 😂. But no wraith is not OP he is middle tier killer and decent survivors beat him most of the time. In 2vs8 he got buffed but there are much more safe pallets so it's all fair. He is at best decent killer.

yeah im kinda seein it as a chaotic wackyness for both sides and the 1v4 is the mode ur serious in next 2v8 iteration though will bring in the next 3-4 killers like Oni Legion artist singularity
I just wonder how legion and oni was not brought this time. Lot more fun killers than those we got and also more original. In my opinion probably blight, spirit and buffed billy should been last to be added. First oni, myers, ghostface, legion, doctor, demo, and hag at least.

Welp. Had my first match of 2v8. Blight and Billy who constantly zoomed over to cages to tunnel and slugged for the 8k. 3 gens got done. Whole thing was just running around desperately trying to unhook everyone who was dropping like flies.
Awful experience. If most my games turn out like this, I'm going back to 1v4 for the entire event.
I totally understand that even im considering going back to 1vs4 survivor and last summer I would rather wanted 2vs8 to stay than 1vs4 to stay so says something. On survivor every match has at least blight or hillbilly and matches are like in 1vs4 soloQ where you get stomped but at least the pace is slower in 1vs4.
I felt bad playing just wraith in 2vs8 because he has got some insane buffs too and I got just hits through pallets and just won by myself 1vs8 as my teammate was potato trapper. Well im gonna still play see if it gets any better in coming days. But might be killer only mode for me this time.

I think Behavior severely overestimates how much people enjoy playing against overtuned killers. One of my favorite things about 2v8 last time was not having to worry about Billy flying around the map and insta downing the entire team. I get that it's fun for the person playing him. The problem is it won't be fun at all for the casual audience that plays 2v8 on the survivor side.
Yeah loved 2vs8 how casual it was in the summer. Occasional nurse was okay but now it's just strong killers after strong killers and survivors are noticeably nerfed too. The killrate was around 55% in summer which sounds balanced for me.
Survivor side felt like having chance. Killer was still super fun with mate. Now im not surpriced if kill rates will be around 60-65%. We have lack of survivors in this mode so giving killers big buffs is probably not helping to solve that.
