How about you just click past the pip screen and pretend like you got however many little dots you feel is appropriate? It effects absolutely nothing except some blood points whenever rank resets and who isn't absolutely swimming in BP these days? I honestly dread it because then I have to put on a podcast and spend BP for twenty minutes.
I want those bp even I earn over 1 million in a day and it feels bad seeing -1 even if you did all you could. It just feels a goal which you have to reach too. I always try to get + 2 pip so I tunnel/slug if need to that also secures safety pip. Normally I don't like to tunnel but it's neccesary to not depip. On survivor I don't care about pipping as you can't control it if killer tunnel/camp you out it's depip most of the time and so many matches also end early when teammates throw. On killer you can somewhat control it at least if you tunnel and get lot of hits.

Some days you get 4k's and other days you get forced maps, deadhards and people who know how to grab banner. It's a mixed bag for me. So I feel like there's some parts of his kit that needs to be changed like addons and long-patrols, while anti-loop should be addressed.
Ever since the AI was "fixed" and guards respect pallet drops, he's not that bad anymore.
Has there ever been a confirmation on if this is a bug or not? It's been out for a month or so and it really does change how strong the guards are. Sometimes it doesn't matter like on a short loop but when there's a connecting tile or god pallet the guards don't even pressure the survivor.
Only big maps have been problem for me with knight as sometimes the gen speeds feel unreal. Im pretty good at countering dh so it has not been issue for me.

I play on ps5 and trust me that knight isn't that strong. The real problem is that you know when he places the guards, and because of that you think "Oh, he whants to close the loop, I find another one". The facts that guards can be used to defend hooks is quite ok, because if you play in swf one take the guard and another one procede with the save. In chase only the assassin (I don't remember their name, so with assassin I intend the fast one) can be lethal, and the jailer can be good because he find survs in a wider range. What will make knights broken af is that he can press the power button and insta place a guard, without designing the path. But as it is now, is max B tier with good add on, max B, because in my opinion is C tier.
And for the other killers you named, Blight is playable the real problem is that he bounce in every ######### pixel of the map and, at the same time, lots of times you don't bounce on solid objects (only because of this is very difficult to play). Spirit is very strong, but you need to play very very well (I recommend you to use mother daughter and blossom). I never liked Nurse so I don't know how to play her efficiently. Knight is a killer ruled by Ai, and as I said an AI killer doesn't fit at all in dbd.
Sorry for my English, I'm Italian.
I 4K reliably almost all my games with knight so I just don't know how you can say he is weak. He is easy to use I place the guards and let him chase survivor and myself go other direction and create uncounterable situation for survivor where he gets hit no matter what he does. His chasing power is S tier but only problem for him is that he lacks mobility which make him in my opinion low A tier. With any other killer I can't do that there is always counterplay survivors can do.
For example agains't nurse survivor can double back, 360s, even use object to make you hit them or locker and the lunge anyway feels very short when I play her. And well I don't play her often anymore as range and starstruck were taken away from her. They should kept the range in my opinion maybe make them just shorter 10% and 15%.
I have played blight too and survivors 360s my every hit and the power sucks on console. I never seen good console blight only once I saw okay one but he was still bad compared to pc blight. To play blight you need pc with keyboard and mouse. He is just too hard to play on controller.
I have played spirit and she is too hard for me she is exactly opposite of killer I like to play. She is only 110% which I hate and survivors turn invicible while you use power and you should track them with sound and some visuals like grass moving which I also don't like. Im just too blind and deaf to play her... Also im running out of mother daughter and cherryl blossom add ons which make her playable for me.

You don't know what to complain about anymore, do you? Knight is a stupid killer because it depends on AI, but it's weak, I met very few strong knights in my expirience. This killer should be reworked not because is strong, but because in a game based on mind games and predict an AI dependant killer doesn't fit at all.
He is not weak quite opposite probably one of strongest if not strongest killer on console. Blight is unplayable, nurse is harder and was nerfed to ground. Well I suck with spirit maybe she is better. But knight is much easier than any of those killers. And actually he has less counters than any of those killers only problem he has is that he is still only 115% speed so survivors can hold W little bit until he catches up.

Considering I spent my last 3 matches yesterday slugged for the 4k and my only 3 matches today also slugged for the 4k, yeah, I'm kinda not having fun right now.
Losing is one thing, but being forced to stay in a lost game bleeding to death so the killer can go hunt another player genuinely angers me.
People keep asking why players disconnect, but it's really no wonder people disconnect as often in this game when the optimal strategy is supressing the enemy so they can't do anything.
Sorry if it was me but I needed my +2 pips and you need 4K to get those.

I'm not claiming it was less powerful. It was actually more powerful to tunnel back then because you don't have 5th perk borrowed time. Tunneling and camping just feels more required now. And that's for a whole array of reasons.
Everyone had bt and most had ds as well causing you to be stunned 5s so it was weaker if survivors were prepared. But if no-one had bt or ds then yeah it was too easy and in those games you didn't need to even tunnel as most of those survivors were bad.
-
In hoping for some cosmetics too it does not have to be anything big just something small is enough like that t-shirt suggestion or something similar to old legacy skins but different color.
-
He definetely is not weak his power has less counters than nurse has. Only counter for him is holding W until he or quard hits you. But why nurse is stronger because she requires skill to use and can travel around map fast. Knight only weakness is that he is slow.
-
Im dbd main but if I ever tunnel at 4-5 gens it's because I have depipped game before so im frustated and just want to take the game on my advantage early as possible. I know it's scummy but well I need my pips and one depip just makes me very mad. 3vs1 is lot easier to control and easy to spread your hooks. I even slug for 4K in red ranks as it's neccesary for double pip. In lower grades last one can get hatch if I think I have done enough for pipping. If depips would be removed or lowered I would tunnel lot less as I don't care about winning every game but what I care is that I get pip or at least safety pip.

that was from a different patch though so maybe they changed it? maybe you're supposed to and it's just bugged?
Now I can say 100% sure I didn't get points from repairs as it happened again. I fixed bit a gen at start and got 500 bp then later fixed another gen with other survivor and I should got 2000 bp at least from that but I only got 500 in end screen.

It's about striking the right balance as pips serve two purpsoes. First, to reward time spent in game. Gaining pips is supposed to reflect time invested into the game (as stated by BHVR). So in a way "time spent playing = pips". However, with how many things related to match-participation (or lack thereof) that determine whether you pip or not being out of your control the bare minimum should be that "time spent playing = - pips" definitely isn't a thing. In respect to the first purpose you are right, being disconnectd due to the game crashing etc. should not result into a depip because you still spent time playing and intended to continue playing. - But then comes the second purpose of de-pipping: to punish behaviour that is detrimental to game health by disturbing the natural flow of the match. AFK-ing and DC-ing are the two ways this can happen that are not contained in the game mechanics (as opposed to e.g. taking chances and failing skillchecks on hook. That is part of the game mechanic). I would be all for it if the game could tell if you pressed alt f4 because the game got stuck/bugged/whatever, if you PC crashed, there was a power outage or your wifi died - but alas, the game is not able to tell. It only knows you lost the connection - for whatever reason - in the middle of the match, preventing it from playing out in the intended way. This result is what leads to the depip. Arguably, making it less appealing to disturb the match via DCing/AFKing by keeping the depips is a reasonable measure. It does kinda suck to be the collateral damage, I give you that - but as long as the game can't tell the reason for the disconnect that's the best it can do.
On the other hand you can depip as killer or survivor if you win too fast the match. I think depip standards should be lowered especially in higher ranks. I call them ranks because grades still feel like ranks when you have to work so hard to get up.
Dc:ing or going afk should result always is depip but if you genuinely do your best I don't think you should depip almost never like now you can get few unhooks and do few gens and even loop the killer but still depip.... As killer you can get 6 hooks and 2 kills and still depip.

Either that or make pipping easier for survivors
Getting my monthly Iri 1 on killer basically just requires me to have a pulse. Getting it on survivor would probably require me to get in a really sweaty team.
On killer you have to still sweat like your life debend on it and that's not fun and it means more tunneling to get those pips as you have to force the win and kills anyway you can. In red rank it's even worse you have to slug too for 4K. Current pip mechanics in my opinions don't reward healthy playstyle for both sides. On survivor best way to pip is 3 gen yourself every game...

Yeah killer forced to hard tunnel the survivor with Dead Hard its a guaranteed 3 health state otherwise, the only way to down in timely manner if you are playing Blight or Nurse, otherwise must tunnel them as soon as coming down from hook. 1 health state is lot more manageable than, 3 health state, and you even have to do it 3x3---> 9 health state if you don't tunnel, potentially even more if you ever drop chase
Don't have to tunnel I win most my games without tunneling and I don't play blight or nurse. But there is risk of losing ofcourse.

@TheSubstitute Maybe the matchmaking broke i don't know it feels very different now at least, in a few days it may even out again .
@Tsulan Tbh im really not at high mmr, or so i think... Like i said im not stomping on teams i always try to go for 2 hooks before i actually kill someone and my kills are always between 1 - 3 sometimes 4 but it should even out. i always try to watch profiles of the survivors and if they have like 50 hours i chase them, down them, but in the end i let them run out and tell them where they can improve if they respond in endgame chat.
You need 3 hooks before you can kill someone so 2 hooks is the minimium before you can try that... But anyway with 1-3K you should not face high mmr survivors as that is under average kill rate so it should keep you in same mmr bracket you were before or even lower your mmr. I
personally try to keep my kill rate below 2K to decrease my mmr but I often end up taking more kills than I plan to... But what I have noticed from both sides even if I go only 1K 4 games a row or die 10 games a row I still can face good teams or killers so I think mmr just does not always work properly. But if you do get lot of 4K:s or escapes in a row you do face more likely better teams and killers. That what I have at least experienced.

Why is there a prestige cap?
I don’t see how this would hurt anything other than giving the heavy hour players an endless push to see how high they can get their main to show off. Feels kind of bad hitting p100 and no future growth after that after putting more blood points into them.
Bring other character to P100 you can have more than just one.

That's the idea. They don't want players pressured to get to P100, P9 IS fundamentally the last prestige, anything above that is just extra levels anyway.
I think they could give some cosmetics for P100 like similar skin to old legacy skins. That would not be even hard to make but it would be nice reward.

I use personally coh and prove thyself to get lot of bp those are best ones in my opinion.

Maybe killers want use from that 100% bonus at least tunneling is effient for that as it counters gen rushing. Camping? I don't know maybe survivor mains playing killer? And they struggle to end chases quickly.

What the heck are you even talking about "Game that's ment for Degeneracy". There are still plenty of players who play the game for fun and not here to win by any means necessary. You call the game "Killer Sided" but it's not it equal parts Killer and Survivor Sided it all depends on the skill level of either side.
Why would the Devs punish Killers for using strategies that THEY said are approved strats.
Devs should not punish killers anyway expect make tunneling bit harder than now. It's bit too easy before ds at least there was reason why it happened less. But I think killers should be rewarded spreading hooks and get some buffs. I think for starters gens should be 100-110s.
-
I can say every day but only because pipping system is so annoying. Practically you should tunnel one survivor out every game to get best chance to pip. Spread hooks once it is 3vs1. I just don't have enough killer instinct to tunnel every game I feel bad doing it if it's not justified some way in my mind.

I have 2800 hours in this game and I still need lot of bp to get my feng to P100 currently P82. I almost never dc. But my soloQ teammates frequently dc while killer tunnels them and that is very annoying because we usually could win that game.
Usually they are low prestige survivors so I can say vets do dc lot less than other players. One reason is that we understand that killers have to camp/tunnel to win if less than 4 gens remaining and we can usually loop them long enough that they lose anyway or at least we get some bp.

@Peanits said:
On average, you'll pip up more than you'll lose a pip. And more importantly, both you AND your opponent can pip up at the same time. This is totally fine for a reward system like emblems/grades, but it's very bad when it comes to matchmaking. It makes it so over the course of a month, pretty much anybody who plays enough with end up in or near the highest bracket, more or less pairing anyone against anyone. This was pretty much exactly what happened under the old ranking system: Just before rank reset, matchmaking was all over the place since everyone was so close together.
The emblem system also isn't a good indicator of how skilled you are since it doesn't take your opponents skill into consideration. For instance, if you are a low MMR player playing against other low MMR players, you can still have a match where you pip or even double pip. But that doesn't suddenly make you as good as a high MMR player who does that same. You did well in that match with other similarly low MMR people, but you wouldn't do as well in a match with amazing players.
That's why we keep these systems separate. Emblems are purely a monthly ladder that you can climb for rewards (whether you're brand new to the game or an absolutely legend), and MMR is there purely to make sure you'll win about half of your matches. Mixing the two would either make it difficult to get your rewards- unless you're absolutely amazing at the game- or have a seriously negative effect on matchmaking.
If grades don't matter for matchmaking system why depips still exist? Even if you pip more even one depip is very frustating for player who did his best. That result more sweating for both sides survivors bring map offerings and all the strongest stuff/gen rush. Killers tunnel/proxy camp at 5 gens and that all just because players want to make sure they don't depip. You should consider lowering safety pip standards at least for higher grades. Like now it feels they are meant to show skill expression. SoloQ it's almost imposible to get red grade 1. Extreme cases are all survivors can escape and still depip. Killer can get 4K and still depip.

Bodyblocking is ok for killer too for example blocking survivor who tries to get up from basement so you can wait his bt timer out or blocking hin from getting exit gate when edngame collapse has started.
But bodyblocking someone on the corner for 1 hour is not bodyblocking it's keeping survivor as hostage as only way that to end is when the game ends automatically. That is agains't rules and easy to understand.

@Basement_Bubba420 said:
Oh I'm not saying that Pips and "rank" should be used to determine matchmaking.
I'm just asking why the criteria for success in MMR (i.e. getting kills) isn't reflected as a successful criteria for pips.
Like if I get a 4k with 3-4 gens left in a few minutes sometimes I won't pip or just get one. This is especially true if chases are really short. I would think that the "chase" category and the "sacrifice" category should be maxed out.
Like getting a double down when there are 3 survivors left and having both end themselves on hook means I won't be scoring well in the sacrifice category.
Don't camp in basement with bubba and go for multiple chases. Don't kill the survivors too fast and you should get double pip. My only problem with pipping is depipping. I think they should make getting safety pip lot easier.

Why should we deny soloQ players this privilege? SWF has it. So what's the point of denying soloQ players the information they need to be more efficient.
The only thing I would give killers is which survivor has how many hook stages (like in the survivor HUD). This is especially beneficial for killers who want to play fair.
Yeah I hear arguments that hook counter would promote tunneling but in fact I usually end killing survivors accidentally because of it or even accidentally tunneling.... One information killer could get in my opinion is to show who has dh while injured so you don't have to bait it out when someone does not have it.

For me is more stressful if I dont have any control, and for SoloQ it is true, I have 0 control, sure it might be relaxing for some that, your skill and input barely matter, and always can blame teammates, because in the end its mostly luck.
While killer requires skill and cant blame anyone else, everything on you. However you are rewarded with complete control how the game flows, you have several gameplay tactics available. You are in full control.
Most killers do not have full control over match even playing dirty does not quarantee anything. In the end you need survivors to make mistakes to get control if survivors play perfectly it's game over. It's very hard to try control match the way that you can pip or in bad match safety pip if survivor slam gens like they're actual life debends on it.
My survivor matches are lot more chill. It's lot easier to quarantee safety pip and that does not even matter as I play that side more so I get my pips eventually and can even get them while losing. I run prove thyself and coh to get me bp a lot usually. Well if killer decides to tunnel me then I just loop him as long as possible. Usually they give up or chase me all 5 gens. Ramdoms yeah sometimes throw the game and you can't control them but at least you know you did everything you could.

This was one of the most complained about things with killer prior to the 6.1.0 "buff" that lengethed gen times by 10 seconds, nuked most of the meta regression perks into the ground(ruin, pop, CI unless you're a setup killer), and gave killers fractions of seconds off of actions that amount to deltas of sub 5 meter chase impacts. The buffs to regression perks that were given have mostly been made even worse than their pre-6.1.0 state(thana is worse than before, eruption is worse than before, overcharge actually gives you worse than .25 regression until 13 seconds in). Both ends of the spectrums are way too swingy/snowbally. Having 4 survivors alive at 3 gens left with 1-3 hooks is basically a death sentence, in a similar vein killing a survivor at 4-5 gens is basically a death sentence for the survivor team. I think in an ideal world, both situations should have the impacts lessened.
If you are trapper and 3 gens pop before you get your first hook or as you get your first hook, you are going to have an awful game, even if you win it is going to be extremely stressful and probably involve hard camping a 3 gen which even though people in this thread are saying it's a tactic that enables you to win, it is probably one of the most complained about things outside of camping and tunneling, "why can a killer sit in a 3 gen and auto-win or delay the game by x minutes".
You have 3 hooks already and still 3 gens left that is far from death sentence... That can mean 1 survivor on death hook and other one hooked once so just take that 1 survivor out if you need to. Death sentence is when you have 1 hook or none in that situation.
-
Knight is fun to play I like when survivors can't do nothing to counter me than try to hold W. But he is miserable to play agains't because of that same reason.
That's pretty much my list usually I don't like playing killers that I don't like playing agains't. Maybe tombstone piece myers too I like to play him but that add on is bit broken and not fun to face as survivor.

It is. I have an 80-85% kill rate as killer in a typical month and a 40% escape rate as solo. People who say killer is harder than solo survivor are insane. Either that or they're just bad at playing killer and in denial. Dunning-Kruger effect is strong in the killer community.
Killer is definetely harder and more stressful to play. Maybe easier on pc but on console survivor is clearly the easiest role. Only disadvantage is you can't 360s as fast but otherwise there is hardly difference compared to pc. That's why im survivor main. I mostly only play killer when the bonus is up as it makes killer bearable.
-
For me killer match take longer to find during day and survivor match is almost instant. At night time killer match is instant but survivir match takes time to find. Bonus is on survivor during days at 100% and at evening/night at killer.

That just unfortunately what happens when you play agains't good survivors. Tunneling is only way to win or even get one kill if you play weaker killers.

Exactly, as long as Survivors can easily get to 60% completion (3 gens) before the killer can even get to 8.3% completion (1 hook), killers will always jump to desperation tactics like tunneling and camping. There is no getting around this fact should anyone ever truly wish for tunneling and camping to be eliminated in a way that actually works.
At this point, it will not help our situation to incite further punishment for tunneling without some accompanying form of generator completion limiting. No, not at all, it would just be further weakening the killer's ability to combat the "gen rush," which in turn causes even more people to lose the desire to play killer because of the sharp increase in frustration.
Fast completion = Desperation Tactics (tunneling, camping, slugging)
I'm not sure what's so hard to understand about this or why there are so many fantastical attempts at rebuking it.
Sometimes yes but tunneling occurs often when still 5 gens left. It's tactic to win as fast/easily as possible. That tunneling should be specifically nerfed but when 2-3 gens pop in first chase it's understandable for killer to start tunneling/camping.

Why stop there? Make the gens 500 seconds so that any playstyle on any killer is viable! /s
Killers tunnel because a 3v1 is so much easier than a 4v1. If it takes them too long to tunnel one survivor out then it's not longer worth it. That helps prevent tunneling.
Nvm this as a perk. Make it basekit. Survivors shouldn't have to buy a chapter to get a character to actually play the game instead of the run and struggle on hook simulator.
But why are killers tunneling and making it 3vs1? Usually because gens go too fast in 4vs1 and 3vs1 is lot easier to manage. So killers still need to make it 3vs1 at some point to have chance in winning. Only reason why now gens should stay 90s is because tunneling is so common and strong but if that strat is made weaker killers need something to compensate. Killers strongest perk eruption is also soon nerfed to ground so I expect kill rates to go down.
-
I think it should make the survivor giving hook state broken like for the people does and also exhausted. Gens should also be increased to 100s then im fine with it.
-
I see also lot of P100 ada's. But feng, nancy, ace, dwight and nea are popular as well.
Im going to prestige feng to P100 as well. Currently im prestige 80 level. After that I will be focusing updating my killers as my add on supplies with them has gone down since I have not been updating them lot recently. But I can't stop now as my obsession is to get feng to P100. I calculated after prestige rework I have updated my killers 54 prestige levels on total and survivors 130 levels. And I have every perk unlocked on all my characters.

I mean I get that killers like Knight can be unfun to go against, if all they do is just zone you away from loops. But I wouldn't say that correlates too much with DH, as these killers aren't necessarily op. I thnk Nurse and Blight are the best arguments for why DH shouldn't be nerfed, Blight because of his hug tech and op addons.
Also, if ths is because of Skull Merchant, then I am a bit puzzled. She can zone you with the potential to expose survivors, but in the end she still needs to get a hit against the survivor to down them. She definitely has counterplay in chases for sure. If anything, she just has the ability to reduce the amount of hits she needs against survivors to 1, because survivors either get exposed, or run away from the loop that she placed a drone at, and get injured. But in order to down you, she has to down you as an M1 killer.
She definitely won't be op.
Nurse and blight can be countered without dh at least. But it does feel required because these killers are very fast and can get downs quickly so it buys bit of extra time.

Not a good excuse to keep a broken perk in the game that hurts every killer. Yeah, killers like Knight are super boring, I don’t disagree with you there, but they do have counterplay that doesn’t involve DH. It’s a busted perk and it needs to go.
Knight has no counterplay well only counterplay is to use dh...

The skull merchant isn't even that strong though?
He is obviously talking about knight that killer does not have any counterplay other than wait that he catches u.

Some do it because they want to have chance to win or just get kills. Happens usually 2-3 gen or less left.
Some do it because it's fastest/easiest way to win even if they could win other way as well. Tunneling in this case does not stop once 1 survivor is out they also tunnel next one.
Sometimes it's just happen because killer want specifically that one survivor out reason can be that he is high prestige or good looper. This can be seen as toxic tunneling.
There are different reason and it would still happen commonly even if gens were 200s. As long as tunneling remains the most viable stragedy it will continue happen no matter what. Before ds nerf it was actually worth to spread your hooks more as tunneling was actually punished and you were also rewarded as killer not doing it with BBQ bonus and old pop.

-"Thah blight was obviously bad"
No he was just outplayed by everyone using DH really well and blasting gens.
Dh is not problem for good blight. Litlith omen would not do 150 wins streak with blight if that would be the case. Supalf would not do 500 wins streak with nurse either.

I've actually had some survivors tell me they did it for the struggle points. Whether or not they were telling the truth I don't know. Honestly I think struggle points shouldn't even be a thing. You get a small amount of points and do nothing but give the killer more time to find the last survivor.
I do that if there is cakes in game so it's still some bp. But if there is no bp bonuses I suicide on hook but pretty often teammates try to come to save... Personally I never try hatch worst thing in this game as survivor is when killer closes it in front of you. As killer only thing worser is when lot of cakes in game and you get destroyed by seal swf team.

If this would be added gens will have to be increased to 120s as well.
