As a Killer player you have 3 options:

    1) Play only top tier Killers, then you can sometimes effort to go for hooks too.

    2) Play not top killers and then you have to tunnel and camp whenever you see the benefit from it otherwise enjoy Tbagging at exit gates with 0-1K and "ezi" in the chat.

    3) Play fair and nice and enjoy how most of Survivors will not care about your fun and end the game under 10 min.

I can go for hooks below top tier killers and still win most of the time. With top tier killers nurse and blight I would believe you can go always for hooks unless it's very good survivors agains't you but most aren't.

That's the problem a lot of people created for themself

The MMR looks to give you a winrate of about 50%, Racing to tunnel someone out is a cheese strat. It's something that will decimate lower experienced survivors but good survivors will counter it easily if the killer isn't good in chases.

People want to win more and they hear tunneling is super effective, so they do that and crush the survivors they were matched with. Untill they start facing survivors that know how to deal with it and then they are stuck in a MMR zone where their only tactic doesn't work. They don't have the skill to actually beat these survivors so they think that the only way to win is to tunnel.

I don't hardtunnel or camp unless the survivors are begging me to do it and my killer matches are usually chill. Sometimes i lose ofcourse but that's how it's suppose to be

Tunneling is still best strat sure it carries bad players but that just exactly shows how powerful it is. Good killer tunneling will have very good chance winning agains't good survivors.

-"That's why tunneling should be nerfed and make other strats more viable"

When you say this it only makes sense if tunneling refers to killers putting the same person on a hook as well as survivors trying desperately to finish specific generators no matter what.

I tunnel every game because I usually have lobbies with players who have their hours in multiples of 2000-5000 hour chunks. The only reason I would not tunnel is if there is a "better" option.

Gen progress overall needs to be halted more often -this would happen naturally if all maps were 9000m². But maybe we need some perks to make it happen artificially. Imagine for example if we added a killer perk with no cooldown that made gens untouchable for 20 seconds after they have been kicked. The cooldown is built in as travel time.

Or we could do the intelligent thing and give killer a 1:1 regression rate equal to a survivor's repair rate if four players are alive. The current regression rate should probably be the rate if a single player is left alive.

-"yes Oni needs buff good survivors pre drop every pallet and he is just m1 killer without any antiloop"

Of all the killers that need to be 120% speed it's not Oni. If you are struggling with Oni then I think you need to work on your M1 fundamentals. Both Otz and Truetalent do a good job playing Oni vs people that play as you describe. Without his power Oni is a M1 killer and if you are struggling to get hits then there is the possibility it is you who is the weak link not the killer.

Now do not take offense to that as I am not saying 100% that is the problem. Oni is clearly weaker than Nurse but is regarded as an "A" tier killer by most people. There is some overlap here when you consider that Oni in some ways plays like MM. Both killers benefit by being a little bit clever and forcing the correct pallets to be removed.

If you don't mind tell me your perk setup and let's look at what you are working with.

I could think solution for tunneling basekit ds that disables after you hook someone else. Basekit ds should be 5s stun and it should disable killer power for 10s. So if you hook survivor A but go after someone else and hook survivor B now you can now after/hook A again. Well ds perk itself would stay activate if you manage down them both in under 60s. Probably also survivors should receive buff once game is 3vs1 as 100s gens would be too much in that situation.

Oni is weakest killer in the game at start of match so if he should not be 120% neither should anyone else be. Trapper at least has his traps. I've seen Otz looped all 5 gens before he got his power with Oni. He only won when survivors throwed and wanted to save their friend. Oni is killer which requires big missplays from good survivors to win.

Nurse has stronger power than Oni but can use it all the time why should it not be bit easier for Oni to get his power? I play on console so I can't use flicks, 180s hits maybe those should be removed im fine with that if he can get his power easier. Even good Oni would have hard time win games I lost some maps has just 100 safe pallets so what can m1 killer do to that?

  • @Caiman said:

Killer is incredibly more stressful. As survivor, you get moments where you can just stop somewhere safe and think about what to do next, but as killer you have to go go go at all times nonstop just to keep up with the four other players. You don't get to breathe, you have to think fast constantly, and you have to deal with the increasing stress of falling behind as the survivors complete generators.

Yup that's why im hoping 2 killer mode which unfortunately not going to happen anytime soon. My hope is that new bubba game will be popular and force dbd to add it as it will have 3 killers vs 4 survivors mode.

  • On killer I usually blame myself not playing optimally but also RNG is factor which can't be ignored some games you just can't win with below S tier killers.

On survivor however usually my teammates are to blame very rarely I make mistakes which loses game. In fact I usually win games for my team by looping killer long time. But also some games you just can't win either if killer tunnels weak link out early.

-"I don't want tunneling removed just nerfed and killers buffed enough to win spreading bit of hooks"

Survivors tunnel generators so killers tunnel survivors. You either leave things the way they are or you radically change the system. There is not really much room in between.

-"Oni for example just needs a way to get that first hit faster so he could be buffed to 120% movement speed"

Of all the killers that need a Buff - it most definitely is not Oni.

I cannot believe they said "flicks were OP when Billy had them but they're fine when Oni does them".

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3369174#Comment_3369174

Bloodlust exists because the maps are unfairly balanced and bloodlust is the design fix to remedy that. If you don't understand why the game is that way then you're basically saying : lets only have Nurse and Blight be the viable killers.

But then you go on to say : let's make sure we have variety in killers.

It's not nearly as that simple and the actual world what you're looking here is gen rushing. It's problem but it's not only reason why tunneling happens. Otherwise you would not see killers tunneling 5 gens remaining.

Still probably half of the killers don't tunnel often and are still able to win. Tunneling simply is most easiest and best strat to win and that's why it mostly happens. Even if gens take 200s those killers who tunnel would still tunnel.

That's why tunneling should be nerfed and make other strats more viable which I suggested taking first survivor out as you're 5-6th hook. Game would not have to be changed radically for that as this is already very common strat. But it just needs to be bit more viable.

Tunneling still has place in the game and can be never entirely removed and it should not but just with some changes it would be less common. So then when killer chooses to tunnel he can end up losing the game instead if he would went after different target and won.

From all the killers yes Oni needs buff good survivors pre drop every pallet and he is just m1 killer without any antiloop. So buff to get him that first hit would help him to be viable in highest mmr. I would think you understand. In low and middle mmr he gets hit immediatelly anyway so it would not be problem. And if 120% movement speed would be too much it could disable after he uses his power first time.

Was playing multiple games without camping hook and just playing normally. The Overheat mechanic procs and I am forced into a crawl. I am using my chainsaw for both map coverage and to curve over loops.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3362406#Comment_3362406

His addons aren't good, but his overheat is way too punishing on bigger maps. You could be playing normally and the overheat will hit you.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3362576#Comment_3362576

To counter a camping Billy you need to force them to use their power into the hooked survivor or wall. In wide open areas that is problematic, but most of the time you will just face the same issue as any camping killer. Plus billy isn't as bad cause you can trade. Bubba on the other hand will down you and the unhooked survivor.

Actually you can trade with bubba too but it's just harder. Only basement or hook over cliff is where you can't save or it's almost imposible. But I've seen some survivors managing trade agains't basement bubba with balanced landing.

If you want to remove tunneling from the game you need to do two things.

    1. Slow down the survivor objective massively before introducing a buff to killer to make them not want to tunnel or make chases guaranteed to be shorter (these have the same effect).
    2. Introduce a buff to killer stronger than tunneling so they dont want to tunnel.

How could you make chases shorter? Nerf Dead hard into the ground and make all maps 9000m². Make the majority of all pallets in a map "mindgameable". In other words they need to have a short side and a long side. Spread out all tiles so that very few tiles are linked together and able to be "used" without throwing a pallet.

What would the buff be? Every time you hook a *new* survivor give the enemy team a stacking 9% debuff that slows down generators, hooks, totems, doors, chests and healing (aka everything) that lasts for the entire game. So then the killer would try to get a stacking -36% slowdown on the enemy team. If one player quits or is killed then no new hooks will give the stacking debuff. Games would quickly get to 1 generator remaining and that last generator would take : ~122 seconds.

I suspect this would never happen because survivors would hate it:

    1. Games would be even more centered around three gen play.
    2. All chases would be shorter overall because maps are smaller AND because pallets/vaults overall are weaker. The difference between great looping and "ok" looping would be something like 5-10 seconds instead a 30-40 second difference. This would make veterans very unhappy but would make all the "middle MMR killers" not want to ragequit.
    3. Killers that want to win would tunnel any player after getting 3/4 stacks. You would see Dying Light since you could very quickly stack a ridiculous amount of negatives on the survivor team.
    4. There would be even more gen regression perks and they would be more valuable because 15% reduction to a generator's progress has more value when that generator takes more time to complete. ( 15% of 122 seonds is greater than 15% of 90 seconds)
    5. The strong killers would be even better than they are now - which would kind of defeat the purpose.

I don't want tunneling removed just nerfed and killers buffed enough to win spreading bit of hooks. Like for example targeting 2 survivors or spreading hooks but targeting one player over others. Good balance would be that killer kills first survivor 5-6th hook. That should be most viable strat. Now you could still tunnel but it would be just less effient.

8 hooking before finishing anyone off for example should never be the most viable and should be just to show skill expression or killer being friendly. I think before ds nerf 5-6 hooks before first kill was most viable strat as it bought so much time for survivors. So I think ds stun nerf should be reverted.

Also pop goes to weasel promoted leaving hook to chase others. I think it should buffed back to take 20% from total progress. Gens could be increased to 100s from starters and mini grim embrace or deadlock should be added as basekit. Each killer should be looked at and buffed if needed. Oni for example just needs a way to get that first hit faster so he could be buffed to 120% movement speed.

It's a quote taken directly from one of their streams.

When Freddy had been marked for nerfing he had a 4% higher kill rate. This is a fact that was also given to us by a lovely little bar graph. He had something like a 63 or 64% kill rate when all the other killers were mostly around 57-59% lethality.

If we go back in time the rhetoric about SWF from 2016-2020 was roughly something like : "SWF gives no advantage because people playing in a group are more altruistic; this evens out any possible advantage."

In late 2021 or 2022 we had the "oops our bad" moment where they looked at data and determined that SWF had upto a 15% increase in escape rate. So they did the smart thing and nerfed SWF. Oh wait no they didn't do that.... they buffed solo queue players with no compensation for the killer.

This most likely just reinforced the need for killers to tunnel more; although to be honest I can't be tunneling more if I was already hard tunneling the first player hooked out of the game every time before the hud changes.

And that's why they will not buff killers because tunneling artificially keeps kill rates as high as before. Probably survivors will get more buffs before killers can get buffs as long as killers continue to tunnel more and more. Now if every killer would stop tunneling kill rates would go down to under 50% devs would have no other choise than to buff killers but that's not going to happen. Devs said they want 60% kill rate so they would have to buff killers.

I don't tunnel every game and lose sometimes because of it but I prioritice having fun over winning every game. Also I don't want to get to the highest mmr bracket I think I was there moment and I had to lose games to get my mmr down. There even tunneling is not enough to win games and you have to sweat like your life is at stake so that's not fun.

Make bloodlust exclusive trait of m1 killers, anti-loop killers don't need that, they are already strong and should rely on their powers instead of w-gaming

Many m1 killers still have some kind of antiloop. Trapper has trap, pig has ambush etc so which antiloop killers should not have it?

Survivors are not entitled to an escape either. A killer is free to play how they want. If they desire to try their hardest to win, that is their choice. The idea that killers have to play nicer so survivors can "enjoy" their match is entitlement.

It's still unneccesary to tunnel 5 gens left. But ultimately it's bhvr job to incentive killers for spreading hooks and they have done the opposite... Rewarding survivors if they're not tunneled "blood rush". Nerfing ds which was actually keeping tunneling down. Nerfing BBQ and pop goes to weasel which both encouraged killers to leave hook and go after different target.

  • @NerfDeadHardPLZ said:

Why you even care what survivors want ? This is how you should play the game to stand a chance, first guy you hook, tunnel him out ASAP

I usually have gone for 8 hooks before finishing anyone off with those add ons and still won 2-3 gens left. And I suck at spirit so it's skill issue if you can't win with other strat with S tier killer.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

Oni is one of the few Killers where you can lose 3-4 gens in one chase but you might still end up on top since you can snowball with your power well.

  • @Veroles said:

I would say Oni is one of the most balanced killer the game has to offer.

Definetely not far from it. Killer who start as F tier is easy to counter for good survivors. Even his power is S tier but you're not gonna get it until all gens are done so it does no matter. Blight and nurse has stronger powers but they still can use them all the time.

I assume you meant console, and if so that's a sad sad commentary on this killer with a controller 🎮.

Tried Oni a few times on my Xbox. Couldn't turn fast enough to land hits within his power, and flicks are unheard of. Even at max sensitivity.

So I put him down when Trickster came out. Now that is some real pain for sure with a controller my friend. Try it some time on a bud's PS4 or whatever.

He is playable on console but just much more limited than on pc. I say he is still B tier on console so still solid killer agains't most survivors. Blight for example is much more unplayable and survivors can spin easily to dodge his hits.

  • 50 minutes game agains't 3 genning nurse she refused to leave them and only went for hits. Eventually she managed to kill my teammates as they were repairing gens injured and were almost done with one gen but failed. I ended up finding hatch but that game was just way too long.

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

He's already good enough. He's also relatively rare as he is a strong killer survivors enjoy facing! I've had messages from survivors giving me props for just playing Oni.

It may be best to improve your own gameplay first.

Too many safe pallets for survivors Oni is weakest killer in the game without power so I would not call him strong. Good survivors will pre drop 100 pallets before you can get hit. His power either is not life savior on console. I can't make same turns as pc players and it doesn not matter as all gens are done before you get the power. This is reality agains't good survivors in maps like borgo. That map is just disgusting for m1 killers to play. Oni 100% needs buff and that will not even affect casual survivors in anyway as agains't them you get hit under 30s into the game. Oni is easiest killer to buff to be viable in all skill levels .

  • Dead hard was nerfed last summer and it used to be lot better and uncounterable. Probably though it should get another nerf or other exhaustion perks should get buffs to add more perk diversity. But dh is not nearly as common as it used to be. Eruption however was just fundamentally broken and needed to be nerfed.

Devs are not survivor biased. Killer is in very good position now compared to past. But still improvements could be made to get lower tier killers more viable. And if you want to punish people playing with their friends that would kill the game. Only way is to bring SoloQ as close to swf and balance in between them. But most swf are still not that good and almost as easy to win agains't as soloQ.

Oh i absolutely agree. Yes, the killer has the option to kick the survivors out. But, he should have to. Since in order to kick them out he gets bm at the exit gate. There are even people that justify this behavior with "but the killer should be thankful for the extra bonus points for kicking them out". Is the same as "the survivor should be grateful for the extra struggle free bonus points".

Both things are bm. Tolerating one while condemning the other just seems like double standards to me.

Im actually fine if they stay and let me get extra bp but that I don't like when they just leave before you can hit them. Once I downed all 3 remaining survivors with bubba chainsaw and that gave me 3000+ extra bp and there was cake in game so 6000+ bp.

Situation where survivors wait at exit gate and teabag does not happen to me often and usually it is result when I tunneled/camped their friend out so with these stragedies you can't expext survivors to be friendly and respect you. But at least I have the option push them out and even few times killed some of them. I can tolerate bit of bm like killer headnodding or teabags.

But the situation where killer tricks giving hatch and exit is just completely another level of bm and survivor only option is to dc if he wants to end that. Only thing which is maybe comparable to that is bully squad head on stunning and flaslight clicking/saving agains't you whole game but at least most bully squads are beatable. But there is no way beating killer bm:ing

  • Pulling 8 hooks as killer on decent survivors before finishing anyone off. It's least optimal playstyle but to be able to win with it requires lot of skill.

On survivor I think looping killer for very long time even all 5 gens.

  • I like to play myers too and tombstone does have lot of counters too so yeah survivors should not complain about them. In fact I think they should buff judith tombstone that you can mori survivors hiding in locker as it takes lot of time to build up and survivors should not be able to deny it by just going locker.

Its not irrelevant. Its fueling the us vs them menthality many people have here on the forum.

On the topic, its the same thing as waiting until the last second to leave. I lost track of how often survivors spend the full countdown waiting at the gate. Both situations are a pure waste of time for both sides and shouldn´t happen.

That you have at least option push the survivors out. I think situation what OP is decribing is lot more disgusting behaviour. That is probably done by people with problems in real life and they take it on game. I could never do that it's just toxic and killers only do it to make you to feel bad. The gate situations yes is annoying but that just wastes time I usually just go take a break and they can keep waiting or I push them out. I don't either wait at gate as survivor unless my teammates are still there needing help so ofcourse I take hit for them if I can.

It's kind of hard to describe and I don't think there's a neat "definition" for it. Generally it would be considered a killer whose primary way to attack is M1. But I don't think anyone would ever consider The Nurse to be a M1 killer and at least I would argue that Myers IS a M1 killer (even though Nurse can only hit with a M1 attack and Myers has Tier 3).

With how complicated some of the attacks are, it's almost more of....a feeling than it is a hard rule.

Just looking at the list, this would be my personal breakdown of M1 killers:

Trapper, Wraith, Hag, Doctor, Myers, Freddy, Pig, Clown, Spirit, Legion, Plague, Demo, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, Cenobite, Onryo, Dredge, and Skull Merchant

Some of those wouldn't "technically" be M1 killers if you go by their powers (Myers, Pyramid Head, Plague, and Demo being the outliers). Trapper would definitely not be if you go with the "Their powers can't hurt you" definition but I can't imagine there are many people who would call Trapper not a M1 killer

So...that's my long winded way of saying IDK :D

You forgot Oni and he is the real m1 killer not having anything else at start of match than just m1. Hag, deathslinger and dredge would not make my list as all of them have antiloop to counter looping which is kinda opposed to normal m1 killers who can be looped.

  • I think smaller speed boost then it would be fine but it should debend on killer agains't nurse and blight current dh is needed.

  • Killer is more stressful usually but easier for me as I don't have to rely on my teammates and it's all about my skill and how well I do. I 3-4K most my games if I want (I have habit letting last 2 go sometimes) and bad games I usually still get 2K just with less hooks.

On survivor I can't control the match like on killer I have to hope my teammates are at least half competent. Just my last game dregde tunneled me almost 10 minutes before he got me out and my teammates only managed to do 3 gens... 4th they just popped after my death most of the game only one survivor did gens...on killer I would never lose a game where I completely own the survivors. That game left me frustated not because I died not because I got tunneled but because how bad my teammates were.

    I can see that.

Maybe an adjustment to his power would be more targeted to reduce his ability to be a problem.

I think 30 additional seconds is plenty to push generators to completion if the killer is really only face camping.

Nah bubba should keep his camping ability but reassurance should be buffed having 40s timer and 10m range instead 6m.

  • Well now it updated and I can see new achiements but idk why it didn't show them earlier...

  • You don't have to go like 8 hooks before killing anyone just take few there and here and when you have chance to finish someone off do it. Hard tunneling someone out is the easiest and most reliable option though. Personally in your situation I have lost games with fast chases because I tried that 8 hooking before finishing someone off even I had chances to do it even slugged people. I think good rule is your 6th hook in game needs to be the one which kills first survivor if you want to spread hooks and not tunnel.

I don't think he tried to bait it out if he hits it that many times because clearly he didn't need to he was still able to win even lunging mindlessly to it. I maybe hit dh twice a match if survivors have 3-4 dh:s.

I mean, Lithe, Sprint Burst, Balanced Landing and Overcome are all way more consistent than DH will ever be. If it really bothers you that the perk is so inconsistent, you're not lacking for alternatives here.

Dh is more fun even it does not always give value but usually killers are not smart and lunge midnlessly if everyone would bait it out I would not use it. But when it does get value it's better than any other exhaustion perks.

The only actual solution for tunnelling is to make it impossible for survivors to be eliminated from the game unless certain conditions are met beyond the the three hook states. The issue then becomes would anything that can solve that be too game breaking and perhaps make the game a bit too hard for killer.

If we look at outright tunnelling (not the wishy washy definition I’ve seen some people try and use) of outright targeting one survivor, deliberately going after them when unhooked, tanking BT, OTR etc then I do think this should simply not be allowed to happen in the game. You can’t force all killers to play with sportsmanship or with the other sides fun in mind, so it’s up for BHVR to resolve this issue.

In my opinion, the only possible thing they could do would be to make sacrificing a survivor impossible before certain conditions are met. Whether that’s shared hook states, having to hook multiple survivors first etc I don’t know. I’ve long though I would like a in-built game mechanic that sort of functions like devour hope- killers build up some sort of “power bar” to use a crude term by playing well and creating terror- it should be easy to base this on the emblem system. At a certain point, killers can sacrifice survivors on hooks and beyond that a killer can Mori a survivor who’s been hooked once this proposed power bar has been filled.

If a system like this was in place and gens were going too fast I would then hope they BHVR would look at why this is but I think most people agree that hitting space bar every few seconds is not something the game needs more of. At this point you could look at Gen speed perks, making secondary objectives more viable (eg protect hexes for killers a bit better, remove OP items and add ons from the bloodweb and instead place one or two in chests in each trial). But the priority has to be working on tunnelling.

If tunneling was nerfed I think most viable tactics would be still target one survivor over others. For example hook survivor A then B then A then C then D and then finish off A. But that is fine game should become at some point 3vs1. But tunneling someone out at 4-5 gens left should not be a thing. But if killer is forced to 8 hook before killing anyone that would mean massive survivor nerfs. That 5-6 hooks before finishing someone off would not be so bad and would not fundamentally change the game too much.

My idea for tunneling nerf is basekit ds which would disable killer power for 5-10s and haste speed for survivor after unhooked. So you could still tunnel but other tactics would be more viable. Killers would need bit buffs after that and deadlock should be probably basekit. I think they should also made grim ebrace basekit too it promotes going for multiple hooks. But then also killers should be buffed accordingly and look their weakness.

For example myers should not run out off stalk and it should regain over time. Also his tier 3 could be more threating and he should have normal lunge in tier 1. Oni is easy to buff just make him 120% speed before he uses his power once. That should be enough to get hit agains't good survivors. Agains't average survivors it would not matter as you get hit anyway quickly.

Your assuming that doing your objective don't require and skill. Downing a survivor isn't just hold w hit m1 I'm most cases(it can be) there is alot of skill and time investment in downing a decent survivor.

To be honest I'm cool with the new dh now if I get hit with it it's normally dang nice dh or dang I forgot they had dh my bad.

Well downing good survivor is probably good comparision how hard dh can be to use properly. Like you said it has to be very good dh to get value agains't you. But normally it's easy to down survivors most aren't good and if you camp 3 gen area with eruption well even decent survivors are easy to down when all pallets are gone from that area and eventually they make mistake.

Like I said for me downs are lot easier to get than value from dh if killer knows I have it and is patient. But I think most killers aren't also that good so they just lunge to dh... I assume im probably better than average killer/survivor as I have 3000 hours in this game.

  • For me eruption has been lot easier to use than dh. In fact I could even argue eruption requires less skill as literally your objective is to down people so it should not be too hard. Dh requires very specific timing so it's lot harder to use for me and killers have learned to bait it out. If killer just midlessly lunges then yeah dh is easy to use.

Im reaching the same point. My surv games I'm getting wrecked because I'm not an insane chase runner and I'mgetting matched with sweaty killers. Killer I'm getting sweaty seal team sixes and have to run dirty builds and sweat hard or get 0ks.

Matchmaking is #########. I just wish we had a casual playlist where I could at least get the occasional surv game where I could achieve something.

I feel that way sometimes but part of it has to be that you only remember the bad games not the good ones. Because I also have games were I dominate as killer and I do win most my games but I do sweat a lot. Recently though on survivor killers just tunnel first survivor they hook or at least try that at 4-5 gens left so obviously most of these games end as easy win for killers. Probably that's why they do it but I just hope games that both sides has equal chance. I think it's bit unneccary to tunnel agains't soloQ survivors who play casually. I myself try to identifyi if I need to tunnel or not as killer.

  • Maybe off the record should remove collision for few secs after unhook as otherwise survivors would use basekit bt to bodyblock and preventing killer from downing unhooker.

mind if I ask for tips against DH? Some days survivors use it pretty will to extend chase by using my guards.

If they use guard there is not much you can do other than hope they miss it. But at least the distance they get from it is less as you don't get hit cooldown as killer. But I always try to catch survivors before the guard does so most important thing is to be patient and not to lunge immediatelly just wait them to use it. When survivors avoid the guard patrol and you force them to go different loop same thing applies to be patient as now you have to m1 them. It does take sometime to get used to baiting it out I have learned not to lunge on injured survivors but it can be just reflex sometimes I still do it when im not focused.
