    1) limiting how many of a certain perk the team can use;

    2) making gens take slightly longer based on difference between SWF team’s MMR or win rate and killer MMR score/win rate

That's a way to kill the game even if it would be fair to make gens at least slower.

Back a while ago I would say that showing up in a lobby with Prestige 3 survivors had more of an adverse affect, as did having multiple of them. Currently though I think people worry too much. Ever since the game has reduced grind and made things more relaxed in terms of point scoring, it is super easy to prestige characters. Over time Prestige went from being something you might be afraid of, to simply seeing how many times someone has went through their bloodweb, and in this game time does not always equal experience. I have played with and against people who are prestige 90-100 and they have played worse than someone who was only prestige 1-5. Neither prestige nor grade are supposed to have an affect on matchmaking so I don't see why so many people are concerned about it

Well you never know if that P1 survivor actually has P100 character as well but they just want to play other survivors as well.

  • I got my feng to P100 just few days ago and killers dodge a lot especially if there is also other high prestiges. If you want fair match actually best thing is to switch last second when killer can't dodge as otherwise killers would just keep dodging and just ramdom baby killer is put agains't us or very sweaty killer and the match then is blow out instead it could been balanced.

But for skill level I think prestige at least shows that player is experienced and should know what he is doing. And usually P100 survivors are better loopers than you're average joe. And if not they definetely can gen rush. I would say personally im above average survivor better at looping than most.

The problem is, the game is designed in a way that snowballs extremely hard for either side. So if you don't tunnel at 5 gens, then by the time you realize you "need" to tunnel, it is too late. Better to just play to win from the start, then chill out once the survivors show they are lacking the experience/skill needed to deal with it.

I can still play for win without tunneling. Sometimes just tunneling is not even the best option in that situation. And I have had matches getting first survivor out at 5 gens left and even when I chill out survivor just give up. I want proper match not very one sided. Agains't experienced survivors or swf you don't usually even get chance to tunnel 5 gens left as 2 gens will pop even if you're first chase is short. I only tunnel at 5 gens when I know they're gen rush squad actually multiple gens are going to pop soon or if survivors bring map offering.

  • What I mean that if you would tunnel you would win even more. But personally I rather lose bit more and have fun experience than winning every game but always having terrible experience and sweating for the win like my life would debend's on it. So I don't tunnel every game only those wete it feels neccesary or after bad game.

  • @Pulsar said:

    Because they're afraid of losing.

That's really what it boils down to. People dislike losing and will do whatever they can to ensure that they get an easier game.

Im afraid of depipping so I dodge lobbies which look good. But when im on new rank with 0 pips I never dodge.

I would prefer if they buff specific Killers over general Killer Buffs. The problem is that general Killer Buffs benefit the strong Killers as well, which might make them too strong.

Something which really helps Trapper might be way too good on Blight. And something which is weak enough to not make Blight oppressive might do nothing for Trapper.

Blight needs nerf if anything definetely not a buff. He has too many OP add ons and dead hard/survivor sided maps are only holding him down. Which both should also be nerfed and gens increased to 100s.

  • @Pulsar said:

You almost certainly do not play at high MMR if your chases are taking two minutes to end.

Pretty much every Killer main goes through this phase. It's basically the "git gud or quit" phase. You start finding Survivors who are actually decent at the game and it's a rough adjustment from the potatoes you're probably used to.

You just have to power through it and learn from people that are better than you.

Yeah I tunneled jeff out of the game in just bit over 2 minutes and 4 gens got done. Got another kill tunneling another survivor out and pressuring the last gen but they just managed to pop it. Well I had only one slow down pain res and got value only twice. I almost got 3rd kill as well but survivor abused inside tech at exit gate on me. But that is high mmr game gens go faster than blink of eye.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Rule 1- No. Do not do this. This is the worst possible thing you can do. The game is over if you get downed around a hooked player. You should never take a hit and then run in for a save unless you're trading at end game. Get away from the hook if you get found trying to sneak in for a save.

Rule 3- take a hit for them, but leave if the killer keeps chasing them. You're not going to stop a killer from tunneling through sheer willpower.

Rule 6- this really depends on the situation. Greeding gens is a super common mistake less experienced survivors make. If you need to break up a bad 3 gen, sure. But don't risk throwing for less impactful gens.

Also very common mistake which I see survivors doing is not to commit on last gen not even taking hit for it and then ending up losing or nearly losing match when it could been won. But today I regret actually commiting last gen I got it done but had to went down for it. But my 2 teammates were useless going down in less than 10s and one got grapped and they gave killer 3K.

Just for fun lets go over the options each side has. Lets assume 2nd last survivor died with 2 gens left and hatch spawns.

So killer finds hatch first and has basically 2 options, close hatch or camp hatch.

If the killer closes hatch with no information on where the survivor is they may be deprived of the ability to even get a chase because the survivor is already waiting at a door and if they choose the wrong door the survivor could get a free escape, especially if doors spawn crossmap.

If the killer waits to close hatch until they see where the survivor is either by a gen being completed, failed skill check or seeing the survivor or scratchmarks and then closes hatch they actually get a guaranteed chance to try and get the survivor in a chase, even if the survivor manages to hide or escape they are still guaranteed a chance at one final chase.

The survivor on the other hand, actually has more options than the killer in the scenario they see the killer camping hatch and the killer doesnt see them.

    1. A. Wait until the killer closes hatch and play the door game, they can use that time to potentially scout door locations and come up with a plan

    B. Or if the doors are really close try looking in chests for a key.

    2. 99 the gens so they can be popped in quick sequence to be able to get a door open.

    3. Create a loud noise notification to give away position strategically to get the killer to close hatch and then get a chance at the door.

    4. Concede the match by giving up and letting the killer kill you

    5. If full health or able to heal or have dead hard see if you can bait the killer into a swing before they close hatch and get hatch while they have no collision.

Irregardless getting one more chase and some extra points is way more exciting than hiding and waiting by a door for 10 min for a chance to escape let alone 25 min.

There are 2 people in the match and both are deciding to do nothing instead of prgressing the game its a stand off and both are equally entitled to be more stubborn than the other, and both are equally at fault.

Fair enough but I don't know who would not close the hatch as killer after waiting few minutes at most. And I think that is what your intended to do or get the last survivor before he finds hatch.

  • Perk to fix pallets would be fine but it should take lot of time to fix pallet like 30-45s and maybe other limitations.

  • Im hoping stranger things return but does not seem likely. Vecna as killer would be so cool and his mori is not hard to quess... I also want steve and nancy should bought them when they were still on the game but I though they're just skins and I have already lot of survivors...

  • Dumb-tech worked well for survivor...

  • Well if you tunnel 5 gens remaining that is the most effient thing you can do if you have to win so badly. But don't expect survivors to like you... In that situation it is not really neccesary. 3 gens left then it is neccessary/justified and survivors should not complain I actually said sorry for tunneling in that situation to survivor and he answered it's ok and it was fair play as it was just last gen left. But I still felt bad for me doing that.

It's not about chance. The killer could leave the hatch open and down the survivor before they can reach it. The survivor could find a key and open a clised hatch. It's not about what could happen it is what is happening.

Both players enter into a stalemate willingly. Both players could give up at any time. Escape or kill is not guarantted but is what both parties want.

So survivor should just give killer free kill to get out of that situation. Is killer just entitled to 4K with 100% chance? Killer has multiple options in this situation whereas survivor does not have that much he can do the game is not 1vs1 with both sides equal power...They should just start EGC if killer is AFK blocking the hatch extended time that would fix this problem.

Only fix hatch need in my opinion that it should spawn like 10-20s later than now so it does not give free escape when killer slugged succesfully for 4K and the hatch spawned exactly under the last survivor or slugged survivor could be unable to escape through hatch.

  • Would love that but that killer would have to have some limitations. Probably slower movement speed and other killer should be unable probably to down survivors just injure. And anything more than 2 killer players would be too much so no 4 legions definetely not.

I only see survivors dcing all the time. The last dc from a killer was a nurse on RPD like three moths ago and the last surv I saw dc was yesterday and not only one. Three in total dced yesterday one as I played Trapper. Two as I played survivor in two differend matches against a blight and a nemesis.

Yes on old Haddonfield I saw some killers dc, but most of te time they dced, because one of my random teammates brougth the offering. If I get send on a bad map as killer its bad yes, but I cant dc, because map offerings get thrown like 70% of my matches. If I would dc every GoJ, Gas Heaven, coldwind and red forest I couldnt play the game for weeks.

On the survivor side I only agree the dc against a spirit, because she basicly have no counterplay.

Legion is fine, its borring to mend yes, but if you wouldnt heal against him he wouldnt use his power

Give me those dc:ing survivors I very rarely have one and that is usually only when I hard tunnel someone and they dc on death hook. When I play survivor killers dc as often as survivors or more compared to the ratio 1:4.

  • It's just better to give up on pipping you only get max 2 million bp as reward if you reach red rank 1 in both sides. Depipping definetely should not be thing but it does not seem to be bhvr priority to fix it or just remove it. I can 3-4K as killer and still not get a pip and then have few bad games and lose a pip. On survivor you can still escape and depip.... grades feel like they are still rank and they are there to show skill expression even they are supposed to just show how much you play but that definetely is not the case.

No it's 50/50. There are no thresholds that grants a killer a 4k or a survivor an escape.

3k? Why does the survivor deserve the win? Because they outlasted the others?

Accept death? Why does the killer deserve the 4k? Because the team failed?

It's called a stalemate because both sides choose to continue. They are both equally capable of ending it.

Killer is not entitled to 4K always with 100% chance. Not 50/50 as killer has more options and still great chance to get 4K just playing as intended and closing the hatch or look for the survivor. 80% of time when I close hatch I get the 4K anyway. Survivor just only get small chance to get invidual win/escape if killer closes the hatch. But in bigger picture killer still won the match.

  • @Mr_K said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3375760#Comment_3375760

And if the survivor walks up to the killer they get a little bit more BP for the chase and move on to the next match.

People keep putting this all on the killer when it's both parties being greedy. Either one of them can end the match at any point.

It's 70% on killer and 30% on survivor. Killer would get 4K most likely even if he closed hatch so it's more on killer and 3K is already win even if the survivor manages to somehow escape.

The title of my post says it all. People apparently can't counterplay it. In my surv experience i succeed in maybe 30-40% of my dead hards. Usually if I hit a killer with it once, I'll get it again multiple times in the same game. Other games I'll try to use it 3/4 times, maybe nail one but mainly get downed because killer could successfully bait it.

If I hit it I get good value which sometimes leads to a win. It is a GOOD perk, that a lot of players use successfully. But It's not the broken auto win perk that most killwr mains claim it is.

Sometimes it also wins game if you don't have it but killer wastes time baiting out and you manage to spin and extend chase. So I think survivor having dh should be shown to killer.

  • You looked to did great 33K bp and already red rank. I would not complain you must had 6+ hooks at least.

  • Yes you can win but you will lose more often than someone who plays optimally and tunnels every game. I try to play for fun when I can as tunneling every game is bad experience even for killer and it's scummy to do still when 5 gens left. Well though for me 1-2 gens pop in first chase no matter how short it is.

  • @Mr_K said:

So it's ok for you not to give up but it's holding the game hostage for the killer not giving up? Yes, you could of done gens. In order for the killer to come to you they would have to leave the hatch or close it. Don't go crying victim because the killer wanted some extra points when you wanted to escape for extra points.

Meanwhile if killer would closed hatch and killed the survivor and went to next matches he would earned 200K+ bp instead waiting 25+ minutes to get 1K bp...

  • I think it should be bit nerfed. Killer should be showed who has it so then you don't have to bait it out when survivor does not even have it. I think that is biggest issue. Also maybe the sprint burst should be smaller as well.

  • Let bubba just have his moment 2-3 of you should still escape so it's balanced.

  • @ARTRA said:

Problem is, yeah sometimes there is no more options that tunnel someone out. But even if bhvr give other options, if killers win by kills and not by hooks tunnel is going to be more efficient overall.

Not necessarily 6 hooks and one kill at 2 gens left is better than 3 hooks and one kill at 1 gen left. Yes killer need's kill eventually but other way than tunneling should be more effient to do that.

It just a standoff. I don't think u can say it was being held hostage. He didn't wanna risk the excape and u knew hatch wasn't possible to get so u stay at the gates. yall both did the best possible move u could

I disagree 25 minutes waiting to get one kill in my opinion is worst move you possibly can do. You just waste huge amount of time and instead you could played 2 games and got 4K:s and 200K bp+. Also it's very boring to wait 25 minutes and look around is survivor coming... Person with common sense would never do this unless he is myers with tombstone trying to get evil incarnate achiement.

  • I use prove thyself and usually coh to maximise my bp as survivor. I reliably get over 20K bp but still less than usually on killer 25-35K bp. But survivor matches are usually lot quicker so there is that you can play even two games in same time while you play only one killer game. For me killer sacrifice category is problem how are you supposed to maximise that?

  • @HugTheHag said:

The devs' intention was never to buff survivors and leave killers hanging. However, it's hard to see the effect of one change (new UI) on the killrates if it's introduced in the same update as a killer buff.

They have already said that they are monitoring the numbers closely and will buff killers (or nerf survivors) accordingly in the next few updates if the UI skewed the intended killrate too much.

I think we can expect some buffs for killers (for the love of all that is unholy, please let those be killer-specific buffs instead of general buffs that don't solve specific killer's problems) in the midchapter, or maybe survivor nerfs. We did have that CoH nerf foreshadowing in the same notes that announced the Eruption nerf.

Balance is on the way ! =D

They can't really buff killers much if tunneling remain as the best strat. It's even more common now so that might even keep kill rates high as before. The survivor effiency now mostly hurt killers who don't play optimally and play for fun.

  • @Krazzik said:

Condemn Sadako is actually pretty damn strong, that's probably why they haven't buffed her yet.

Yeah condemn sadako in some maps is very oppressive like midwich and saloon map. My P100 swf squad got destroyed by that kind of sadako's in those maps. Meanwhile we usually complete gens in 5 minutes and whipe the floor with dredge's who was supposed to be better than sadako.

Shared hooks doesn't solve tunnelling, if anything it just promotes it. It reduces the 'prize' for tunnelling, but it makes not tunnelling more costly at the same time.

If you need to score 8 hooks before the first survivor is eliminated, regardless of order, then why not tunnel out the weak link, and then eliminate the other three on their first hook?

You're ultimately also guaranteeing that every game must have the potential for 12 hooks, and thus rebalance the game around that new set of goal posts. Survivors would need to be very heavily nerfed.

For perspective, the killer equivalent of this, would be if survivors had to repair all 7 generators, or if they only had 5 generators on the map to choose from and needed to repair all of them.

No point doing it that hard way just make other more viable stragedy like 5 hooks before first kill. Stragedy which you target one or two survivors but not out right tunnel. Give killer basekit deadlock,/corrupt and gens increased to 100s. It's already often better stragedy than just hard tunneling someone out and ignoring others but it takes more skill. Survivors should get basekit ds to make tunneling less viable.

  • I felt same way I got it done though but last few matches I completely throwed trying to find it and it was bugged many times.

The only way those sorts of gen times would be OK is if there were like... an optional objective Survivors could do where they'd find hand tools that would give them repair speed buffs. With just increasing gen times, you'd make 3 genning even worse.

Well maybe make first 3 gens 120s and last 2 gen can be 90s.

As much as I think gens can be fixed too quickly, it's not because of the time, and extending that time would unnecessarily hurt the game experience for the survivor players who aren't using the meta to blaze through generators as fast as possible.

Well all survivors I face use meta so I think it just neccesary at this point to increase gen times. Survivors just rush them so fast. Well when I play survivor I get those teammates who can't do gens so at least one side is more playable for me then.

  • @FFirebrandd said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3372886#Comment_3372886

Prove Thyself should absolutely get its unnecessary buff reverted. The whole point of increasing the penalty for stacking on a gen was to make it less likely that the Survivors would finish a gen before one of them even got found by the killer. The issue is that PT was a large part of why Survivors were able to do it in the first place. Also, if a team was actively planning on trying to do that, they were 100% going to bring PT, so it's compensation buff basically destroyed the entire point of the change in the first place.

Honestly that's bugged me ever since they did it. It's finally less of an issue after gens got bumped up to 90s... but it was still a stupid change.

I think 100s gens would be enough to prevent that situation or if not maybe gens should be 110s.

  • @FFirebrandd said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3369646#Comment_3369646

I personally would start by nerfing BNPs again and reverting Prove Thyself's buff it got a while back.

In return I'd be 100% on board with buffing DS. Either make it activate twice, or add a power lock out so certain killers cannot get all up on the Survivor who stabbed them instantly.

I think bnp:s should get nerf too they should only do max 20% instead current 25%. But instead nerfing prove thyself I think gens should be increased to 100s and deadlock added as basekit. Im fine buffing ds back to 5s and even activate two times like otr.

  • I dodge high prestige squads (3 or more) the match is most likely just going to be miserable for me. Many killers also dodge me when I use my P95 feng ming.

I agree that four Adrenalines can turn the tables... but having the potential to turn the tables in the very last stage of the game is kinda what end game perks are all about.

Playing the entire match with three perks to be left with a conditional heal that you likely don't meaningfully benefit from (the killer bringing noed makes it completely worthless, and even if you get the speedbost from being M1-ed it buys you a few seconds at best and since it's endgame there are likely no resources around whatsoever... so the result is the exact same, just 3-10 seconds later, depending on who can hug the longwall tighter). --- Then again; you talk about gutting the perk and I assume what you suggest would do just that and remove the perk from any meta perk list.

Given the track record of actually useful survivor perks being released once in a blue moon this would result in an even shorter list of meta perks and even less build diversity. - And seeing 4x [PERK] seems to be the core issues most people complain about. - And I ask you: would you be as upset about Adrenaline if only one survivor per match - or even one survivor and only every other match - had it equipped?

Yeah today had ada running adrealine and hope and I downed her almost immediatelly with bloodlust and noed once her speed boost ended. So I think adrealine is fine just use noed if you want to counter it. Also when I don't use noed if I know survivor has dead hard and it's good using it just hit her and force to use it so she does not get healed. Unless I can 100% bait it out but few times I have gotten hit by adrealine while doing that...

i don't understand their map design, like how can they think that Eyrie of Crows, Garden or Borgo are fun to play on maps? They are stunning visually but they're way too survivor sided

Well eyrie at least is bit better now it's smaller and gens are closer. But without gen regress build it's auto lose for most killers. But borgo just feels like there is nothing you can do. Big map and if you chase someone he just throws pallet after pallet they are all just next to each other... Garden of misery kinda same but at least I have managed some success there I usually ignore survivors running to the main building.

  • Oh I have played agains't you at least once I remember facing P100 blight with exact that name. You killed me 😪... It's ok you were good 🤗

  • I have feng P94 I probably reach P100 next week. New chapter bit slowed me down while I had to update all my killers and survivors to get new perks from skull merchant and renato. I seem to need to remind you that Oni is an outlier. Most killers cannot win in 5 hooks.

The only time I could win with 5 hooks is if I get one player to stage two on the first hook and then practically one hook everyone else.

For most of the killer cast you automatically lose any ability to contest harassment of the unhook while you are spending ~15 seconds hooking the next survivor. You do not have a ~9 m/s movement power to chase down the survivors who were just on the hook.

I rarely play Oni anymore and with him im actually more likely just tunnel someone out right at the start and still lose... Im always send to map with 100 pallets like farm cowshed, garden of misery or borgo. But actually with other killers I can win more easily with other strats. Just this match played with wraith and went 6 hooks before 7th hook (mori) was my first kill. It was thalita and she ended up getting most bp of survivors. Well you say you always tunnel so you don't even know if you would win with other strat. Im sure you could even I can. Well technically I tunneled thalita out as I went after she was unhooked but hooked jeff in between her hooks.

I honestly don’t see how any killer would perform well on that map, let alone any killer that relies on collision.

It could be worser. Borgo is map that I hate most on any killer 100 million safe pallets and weird stuff around loops so you can't even try to mindgame. Garden of misery is worser too.

-"Even if you tunnel new ideal stragedy 5 hooks before first kill should not be unreasonable amount and you can still tunnel but you do have to eat ds."

What's the base generator completion time going to be? 120 seconds? Do killers get base kit 1:1 regression?

Your argument boils down to : I can't play Oni as well as a PC player therefore buff Oni.

If ideal stragedy to win is 5 hooks 120s will be too long if now it is 3 hooks before first kill. Would you believe me if I tell you I win many games with that stragedy even now and it's some cases better stragedy than just tunneling one survivor and ignoring everyone else as there is risk that one survivor loops you too long. But when you bit switch targets you can identifyi weak link.

Many killers are as well succesful with this kind of stragedy so giving killers massive buffs would be too much. That 120s sounds fine if we're balancing killer going for 8 hooks before first kill but that just should remain as showing skill expression. 100s gens would be more reasonable start and basekit mini deadlock. But probably survivors would need buff in 3vs1 as that just makes tunneling more viable that it currently is even with buffed ds. As it's still easier option than switching targets.

    Hold the phone!

You're saying let's remove flicks from Oni and buff Oni? Deal. Still no on the 20% movement speed though. I really hate to be that person but you can't be competitive on console with Nurse/Oni/Huntress compared to PC. Funny enough Rocket League has the inverse problem with the controller. You cannot be competitive without using one.

-"I could think solution for tunneling basekit ds that disables after you hook someone else."

This is beyond unreasonable. Allow me to offer you a counter deal that is equally unreasonable. Base kit as a killer if I kick a generator then that generator cannot be touched for 30 seconds and continues to regress. We will nerf Overcharge and CoB but the base killer regression will be moved to 1:1 regression relative to survivor repair rates if all four survivors are alive. Each player removed reduces the regression rate by 25% so that when three players are dead the killer would have the current level of regression (which is 1/4th of one survivor).

Nurse is actually fine with controller survivors can just spin more easily your hits that is probably biggest difference. Oni could be fine with few buffs on console that is all I ask so why you don't want that?

I don't think basekit ds is unreasonable if killers are buffed bit and gens made slower that in fact would help most killers as we don't all always play optimally/tunnel. Even if you tunnel new ideal stragedy 5 hooks before first kill should not be unreasonable amount and you can still tunnel but you do have to eat ds.
