  • @Galklife can't see insults on his side like "git gud", and the 4k assumption wasn't him. Still don't see any arguments, there is criticism about your idea and you respond with harsh language.

  • Adding a time on hatches opened by keys is a good thing I think, I would also add a specific time needed to open it, like 5 sec or so

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

I don't mind 4 chapters, but I don't think every chapter needs to have new characters added. Like, make every other chapter about existing characters, complete with new maps, or new layouts of existing locations. Like, a map of Claudette's school or something. The surrounding area of where Legion committed their "I know what you did last summer" esque crime. The area with the tree Kate wrote her music under.

That sounds like a good idea. More Lore and maps isnt't flooding the grind, but still gives a fresh breeze to the game. Just wondering how much people would pay or how much they expect for a DLC that just contains a map, while maps so far are free for all when the DLC is out. Still would like to see that

I did it using Trapper with Ruin/Whispers/Agitation/Iron Grasp and Yellow Bag/Yellow Wrenches.

    I had a R5, R7 and two R20s in my lobby.

Ultimately, it's luck as to whether someone will DC to deny you - They could fix this in future tomes by having a DC count towards ANY kill based objective.

Well, then I guess I would play iri Huntress to get this challenge done XD

@Weck @TheNormalizer the stun isn't too bad, with the two perks you should be able to get closer to the basement after a free wiggle. Worst case it takes 3 attempts until you get there. Best thing would be, when the basement is in the middle building, then you should almost always be able to get there. Yamaoka family residence of course would be pretty bad, it has no middle basement. But try until you get a middle building. Yes it is one of the hardest achievements this tome, but you have 3 weeks. I would not call it a challenge if all of these are done within 2 attempts

  • And he could just FIND THE HATCH or GIVE HIM THE GODDAMN ACHIEVEMENT

such a fan of caps... if the survivor is wiggling free and then staring at the killer, it is not the killer taking the game hostage, it's both. Or noone

  • I'm pretty sure the EGC mori thing will raise complaints like the "NOED rewards bad killers" crap. The point you mention about DS is diffucult, you cannot really "save" DS until engame unless you get hooked very close to endgame, otherwise the timer is off. And if already in endgame, you cannot activate it since you get mori'd.

Aura reading on keys is not that fancy as a trade I think. There is already an addon and perks to do so, so not much of a new idea. If aura reading, I would give it aura reading on the hatch, so you can find it quicker when it spawns. In advantage of Left Behind, which only works if you are the last one.

Just being able to reopen it seems like a good approach at first step.

  • Do you know if the Onis Demon Fury hits when not lunging can make use of NOED? And about the Nurse, do they trigger Sloppy?

  • @Clockso said:

Am I the only one who’s excited cuz he’s getting his own chase music?

I love unique chase music. Sometimes I think it is a bit sad that you know about who the killer is before you see him by just the music approaching, but on Demogorgon I loved this, because he has it's on atmosphere in general. Just not sure how it will feel when every killer is recognizable by it's music.

  • @sailormars On pallets you do the same like against chainsaws or spiritfury/enduring: drop them early. And I'm pretty sure there will be a speed slowdown while charging, maybe even more tweaking so that the increased cone range is not really a buff but needed to stay in range because the charge time / speed slowdown is heavier than before. Let's see what happens on PTB before yelling too loud

Eh I don't think so. Some seem near impossible. Pallet stun a killer 4 times in one match. Some killers respect pallets way too much, especially after the first stun. I'm still not done with tome 3(need one more because none of my killers are lucky enough to have both blood warden and NOED).

Are you playing 2 hours on average per day or more/less? That's what the tome was initially designed around. I haven't tried the pallets yet, but I think, as you can try to get 6 hits before you die, by waiting in a pallet for the swing, I'm pretty sure it should be possible without taking too long. Especially when you are healthy, you can just take the hit to make the killer stand in a pallet. Just get the first one by hiding beneath the pallet, as soon as you have it, you can try to gamble or simply take the hit and drop it then. Bring a styptic agent also helps

  • I also think it is too easy. I agreed just on half of the changes they have done for level 3, especially the grinding ones were not difficult, just took more time. But you have 3 weeks each to complete the last 2 levels and with the changes you don't even need a week to complete.

I'm happy the "3 safe EGC unhooks" is gone, as there are only 6 unhooks possible in total. So expecting that you are most likely the only one getting hooked during the game was kinda bull**. But it used to be 15 Master Challenges and most of them were doable. You have more than one day per challenge.

Agree that not everyone on christmas and new year will be working on challenges, but on christmas eve most players, I think even casuals, will be finished with level 4. At least it should not be a problem to reach the epilogue

  • @Galklife You write things like "I love how ppl (entitled killer mains)..." blahblah and then argue with "git gud" and "youre bad and want to build up your ego". Pretty generalizing and insulting on your own, not really a good base to discuss.

@GodDamn_Angela Why shouldn't you make use of perks? Sure you can run your favourite master build. But there is counter play in this game. If you liked to use BL and Haddonfield offering to run the infinites and then run into exhaustion gas or exhaustion hatchets... well sh**, your fav build doesn't work and you wasted an offering. So when you have so serious personal problems with the slugging and run into it so often that you feel the need to write in the forums about it, an anti slug build would definitely my first approach. Might not work always but saves you from the really bad games

  • I may also question if this would take just one hour to implement. But I wanna ask for the reuse anyway and hopefully get feedback from BHVR if this would be at least possible

  • if you can react with never used perks for a while, I think it actually is super healthy for the game

  • @BeanieBoyBob Its an update. What do you understand as "completely different"? The shock cone is completely identical and the circle is stronger but not constant anymore. Wouldn't call that completely different.

Anyone thinking of using this new blast with Whispers? :D I'm definitely using the Doctor to train working with this perk. Do the movements to find out where the survivor might be, guess where he is and validate your guess with a blast. Looking forward to it :D

@Peanits btw you wrote "Iridiscent King" in your summary post, but talk about the Queen. Just for info, that might irritate :)

  • Shards? You mean rift fragments.

There will be no more progress in the rift, meaning no more cosmetics. And you cannot spend the halloween currency anymore. So if you haven't spent them yet, get the Halloween cosmetics

  • Bring Prove Thyself and better Together if you have. And then ask in chat to 99 the gens. Will not be in every lobby but there will be games when someone will help you. For the pallets, do you never try to hide behind a pallet out of sight and then step back to get the stun? Also you have 6 health states at max before you are out. Should be possible.

And... you have 20 more days to finsih this. When you already have all killer challenges done, should be pretty easy for you to get that level completed. That's actually why I think it's stupid that they made the challenges so much easier. Except maybe 3 challenges, the 4th level is even easier than the third level in my opinion. 3 weeks to complete, done in 2 days. Yay, so happy to have some variety in this game finally...

  • First thing I would try is, use the chat

Maybe there is even another one trying that challenge and you should do gens together. better together would be helpful for that, and ask if the others pls just 99 the gens, when you meet, let them point in the direction where the gen must be finished. And the yellow aura shows the others where to work on a gen together. Bring Prove Thyself as well then.

Not sure about the chances, but I think you will get from time to time some lobbies with people that are willing to help you

    Am I missing something? How?

Scratched Mirror means you can't go beyond Tier 1 so why would being able to get back to tier 1 after tiering up make any difference to an outdoor map with scratched mirror? I would assume the add on would still trap you in tier 1.

    Good point XD

No idea what I was thinking there

  • @csandman1977 said:

I would rather they rework the totem system by weakening the hex perks and removing the totem part completely. Then find a new use for totems.

That wouldn't fix the totem issue. Whatever new effect you plan for totems, it would suffer the same effect of being removed early.

Maybe add a passive and active effect to totems instead? The passive being always active and the active only as long as the totem is active. Like NOED speedboost is passive and the exposed effect is active. And Ruin passive would be no bonus progress on great skillchecks and the active would be extra regression on normal and failed skillchecks

  • That change could actually make Scratched Mirror usable on outdoor maps

  • Sounds like you thought level 50 is maximum. It isn't. You can go on completing bloodwebs but the level doesn't increase. You just have to reach level 50 to unlock the prestige button

  • Yes, you need to hold M1. You can let go earlier, I'm not sure if it auto connects when you are in range. Maybe you need to release M1 to make the attack. Just try to hold M1 the entire time and see if you bump into a survivor and then run past him. In that case, you need to release M1 when you can hit him.

It is a bit bad to not have proper tutorials or descriptions as every killer plays differently. I would suggest, like the basic tutorials they have already, to implement a dummy arena where you can play all killers to test their handling. That maybe also helps to find out if you kike to play a killer or not.

First time I played Billy I thought I need to let go of the M2 button to release the attack, because the cancel animation looks pretty the same like the chainsaw swing. Letting several survivors escape and me yelling "how did that not hit?" :D

Btw, if you combine both dash charge addons (there is a yellow and a brown one), the charge is almost instantly. Survivors have not really time to react.

  • @Boosted_Dwight said:

I love running Head On and Q&Q together. It's so fun to jump into a locker and stun the killer making them fear every locker lol

Other combos/non-meta perks I like to use are:

    • Dark sense and Poised
    • Better Together and Prove thyself
    • Fixated
    • Inner Strength

You filthy genriusher you! Like that combo too as solo.

Kindred + Open Handed is brilliant. Tell others in chat they should bring in their favourite arua perk if they want to make use of Open Handed.

And I had quite a bit fun recently with Breakout and MoM, combined with a Styptic medkit.

And I like to run botany knowledge, to make even yellow medkits with brown and yellow speed addons brutally effective

  • Mori Myers is simply... meh

Having that in the game is kind of annoying. On Devour Hope you can see it coming and counter it. Once you see the the first Mori on Myers, you know everyone else can now be clicked out of the game. After sitting on gens for 15 minutes being disturbed regularly by a nonchasing killer. This is always super boring as survivor, but as killer as well.

Despite that: PLS GUYS, DON'T DC! This is simply once for the achievement, super hard to get (I needed like 15-20 games, super perk dependend and what a waste of BP to get 20 double ultra rares...) and NOONE likes to play that actually! So let it just happen and there's one more achievement gone, so less of this shite to come up in future games!

  • Well, your problem then... I give up on this...

  • I'm pretty sure that you don't have to tell BHVR how to read their stats. On the kill stats released, Peanits already raised multiple times that these stats contain a lot of information that can influence the rate. You don't know if they count DC as kill as they did not clarify that. And if they do, they will have stats as well without DC counting as well as a lot of other stats.

Peanits also stated they look at a lot of other stats on which they decide which killer needs attention. So don't worry if you get that one screenshot a week, they know more than that

You physically cannot get grabbed during the animation. You can get grabbed before it tho.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/922243#Comment_922243

IF the vacuum didn't stop the possibility of wiggling then yeah sure i wouldn't expect him to place pixelperfect. But you can't.

You sure about the Head On? I wouldn't call it grab if you pull him out of the locker. A grab is an interrupt, the locker pull not. If he talks about head on interrupts this is something different. I haven't seen it though, just pressing the space bar and still being pulled cuz nope.

And to the hook thing: still, THERE IS NO VACUUM! Make the hook turn towards the killer like it does when survivors unhook. Does that look better for you guys? There is a second thread popped up named "Remove hook vacuum"! Guys!

  • I'm against the loadout reward for prestige. That should be simply a new feature, not restricted in any way. If at all, make it base 3 for eacht character and +1 for each prestige

  • @Psypho_Diaz There was a paragraph, I didn't adress you with that, there was a guy before saying that and I joined him with that. The paragraph is about the OP topic, what to do on being tunneled. And beneath that, I also don't like people saying "only for the BP". It may be the reason why picking the perk, but the aura reading is definitely not useless. It can tell you where you can find the next chase without wasting time. Still an argument that it can be countered or outplayed, but that does not always happen. If people claim to ignore the aura reading, this is definitely questionable.

  • I think the duration to put up a pallet canÄt be reduced. To lift a pallet during chase is simply dumb. And that's the only reason why they raised the time, to avoid that.I'm not sure about the cooldown though. I used the perk and wasn't used to look out for that due to routine. So I never really used the perk effectively. But I think you shouldn't underestimate the unsafe pallets.

You should normally drop them and run, as you will most likely give the killer free hits if he doesn't totally mess it up. But that drop and run gives you some distance to get to the next window or loop if near enough. And there are always situations where dead areas grow, when chases took place. Reviving these areas, even with unsafe pallets just to bridge distance from loop A to B can have a great effect.

Just think of that: you work on a gen and get chased off it. Need to drop one or two pallets near to escape. Next time working on that gen is pretty lethal. Even better: you (or team) manage to finish the gen. When the pallets get set up, you have an area that you can run to in a chase again without bothering other survivors working on gens.

Not sure what the 128m on Breakout would benefit, but I like the progression visualization.

  • @LemeTheMeme WGLF actually has some kind of good gameplay bonus, since they changed it to require safe unhooks :P

@ABannedCat @Psypho_Diaz You can even bait the killer with BBQ. If you know the killer has it, run 5 seconds to one direction after the hook, then turn to the other direction :P Depends on the distance of course

But I'd also say "git gud". Not in a salty way. Take the challenge and try to do your best to loop the killer and let the team get the gens done as far as possible. The better you perform, the harder the killer can be punished. Try to learn from your mistakes, search for optimal routes while hanging on the hook already, where are pallets up, where are safe pallets, TL walls etc.

Well, if you get unhooked in front of the killer without BT, this apparently wouldn't help much. But with potatoes on team you will always have a bad time.

In my defense I haven't seen that movie since the early 90s, I had to go to IMBD and copy it off the quote pages really quick and that is what it says on there lol.

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106308/characters/nm0132257

The 'barada' version is from The Day The Earth Stood Still. Just googled. fantasy alien language they referred to in Army of Darkness

  • I even got it when one of the gates got opened. I remember that I scared a survivor off the gate switch, but that gate was opened later. Either a bug or that moment already counted as success

  • The problem is, the change they have done doesn't apply to the main problem with grinding. Maxing out a character has been cut by almost half. That's nice. But you don't max out every character, you most likely just want to bring them to Lv 50. Either because you dont want to waste BP on characters you are going to prestige, or because you don't want to have every character maxxed. And the change they done to the bloodweb only gives Lv 50 characters up to 10 more perk tiers.

You cannot really ask for builds if you have around 50 perk tiers in total when there are 222 available. Head On is pretty depending on Quick and Quiet, MoM would be nice to have with Breakout to make it more worthy, running No Mither with Resilience to get the great skillcheck challenge done, Kindred with Open Handed... all that stuff will be most likely not available, and if, you will most likely not have the perks on tier 3.

I think, even if new players just put their BP into one survivor, they can reach a maxxed out char pretty quick. With the 4 perks at bloodweb 50 it is fine. But then you would have to do your character bound dailies with Level 1 characters. And bringing 15 characters to level 50 just grants you... well... a bunch of random perks. Better than Lv 1, yes.

But "Do 3 safe unhooks with Jane" -> Hm, got no BT

Heal 3 health states with Meg -> No We'll make it

    ...

And not talking about killers. Survivors can say "I just main this one". Doesn't make a difference, they are all the same, they work all the same. Killers each have their own builds, have different usage of each perk and so on. They are way more depending on the perks they have than survivors. At least the less viable killers.

It would just be nice to have a minimum of control, to somehow get to at least a handful of perks until Level 50, that you really want to have. Like "every 10 levels you get a bonus item in the middle of the bloodweb, where normally the Prestige icon appears at Lv 50, that grants you a free chosen perk you don't have yet or lets you decide to level up one perk you already have. At the cost of 10k BP"

  • Dude! It's

    Klaatu VERATA N...*cough cough*

  • @ABannedCat The game is already collapsing. If you see the amount of PTB issues on each new (mid)chapter that seem COMPLETELY random because not related to any obvious changes, and the amount of issues still in the game rreleased after the PTB I'm pretty sure there will be no programmers in the world that would 'fix' this. They would start from scratch.

@TheDiz There is a lot of stuff going wrong. For about a week all charges increasing addons did not work for all items. Never mentioned and fixed with 3.4.2 but also not listed as fix in the notes. Dedicated servers being screwed up on several topics, like grab animation starting and suddenly the survivors get released and killer stands somewhere 5 meters away of the survivor or getting downed while dead hard animation and still exhausted. And yes, it is not game breaking, but if you have to reinvite your mates after every third game, I'd almost say "useless feature to get joined back into your SWF lobby" if it works that bad.

it makes difference when you finish the wiggle bar two metters before the killer reach the hook and he smash the space bar, making all the smashing A & D useless.

That's why I say I want video proof. For the third time: I NEVER saw a vacuum sucking the killer TOWARDS the hook! You are just able to press the space bar when there is LITERALLY no space between you and the hook. The only thing I noticed is that the wiggle bar seems to be filled but the hooking animation starts anyway. And that can be latency. I never saw a full wiggle bar, staying full for more than 0.2 seconds and me still wiggling

  • @Saitamfed said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/922243#Comment_922243

I will change a word about that sentence... there is no pallet vacuum. You press space when in range and get the pallet. Do you think pallet vacuum was fair? Well, that's the same about hook vacuum.

There was pallet vacuum and that was not fair as it warped you 2 meters through the pallet. There is no warping that reduces distance on hooks, it is just shifting the killer to be positioned in front of the hook. You are in contact with the hook before and after, no warping. The pallets have a left and a right side with 2m difference, and it makes a difference if you stand left or right of a pallet. It doesn't make a difference if you stand left or right of a hook

  • There is no hook vacuum. You press space when in range and get the hook. The "vacuum" you might mean is just the positioning in front of the hook. You just need "body contact" with the hook from a certain angle (45° ?) and that's it. You wouldn't expect the killer to place himself pixelperfect in front of the hook, do you?

And I would like to see video proof of the 3 seconds. I'm pretty sure OP is exaggerating. The worst I've seen on servers so far is that I tried to grab someone vaulting on the big machines in cornfield. Could have downed him already before the vault but I wanted the grab. Grab animation started, I got stuck in the animation and suddenly the survivor continued vaulting and it took so long to update that I wasn't even able to swing at the window to get the hit. But that was in total also under a second. Like 0.7 to 0.9

  • Btw tier 70 sincebeginning of the week, all challenges done since 2 weeks. Playing around 4-5 hours a day including some idle time and spending blood points, reading fluff etc

  • If this is the only one left, you wouldn't need to farm it. Just run Spine Chill and wait for the game you escape unhooked

  • @PigNRun I saw you said that. That's why I wanted to see your adjusted playstyle because for me it is pretty random to happen if I don't run around and do nothing that lookin for others being chased. Not saying you talk bullshit. Just the only way I know so far is wasting time doing so.

  • @Yamaoka if you rely on your team being that efficient... And there were at least 2 pallets where you could run at least one turn before dropping. And mostly, I was saying this because you said "survivors don't know how to use" while presenting a bad example. But well, don't want to get too picky on it.

And I wouldn't agree to make him another GF. Rather make the chainsaw not lethal or add a lethal mode in addition, and the normal mode has no hit cooldown but multiple hits adding Bleedout, then Broken and then down, but the longer you run it, the longer the cooldown to reuse it or something.

  • @PigNRun would like to see you pull it off that easy. Getting protection hits isn't that easy at all because you would hunt the killer and waste time. If you play normal, it is rather rare that you are in reach for a protection hit.

I wasted almost all items on my Lv50 Yui. I ran moM with Breakout on her to get the new achievement of 30 carry-hits. I did not explicitly hunt the killer, just when they ran past me and I had nothing specific to do at the moment, or when they got downed in range, I went for it. I got MoM activated maybe 3 times and just twice I could make use of it. The first was just an extended chase, the second had a great effect. I managed to save someone from the hook during endgame and we both escaped, because of the extra hit. One before unhook and one after unhook. And that made the game a 1k instead of a 3k. If that happens during the game, you have 2 people up and one in a chase, instead of 2 people down. That can have a huge effect, that's why I also think, 1 of 30 matches is ok as a rate. If it would be more regular, it would also be more meta and therefore would happen even more often, somehow breaking the balance totally.

@Dreamnomad Autoheal is also a pretty good buff, even with a 45 sec delay. Think of Inner Strength, I'd say the average is 2 heals per game. There is a max of 5 heals spread among 4 survivors. Many lost by survivors cleansing with Inner Strength still active (cuz hex for example) or not running Inner Strength. Still I see many games with at least one survivor running it. And it is worth it I'd say. So combining an autoheal with the free hit would be too strong in my opinion. At least maybe something like "get Endurance after 45s until healed" so you still make the grunts and bleed. But definitely removing the aura read would be a good buff, as this is a drawback from the first version, where it was way easier to activate MoM.

By the way, anyone ever managed to activate it twice in the same trial? *like lol*

  • DbD also prefers to heal slugged people under a hook, insetad of choosing to unhook. That makes also no sense. mending over unhooking and mending / selfcaring over gate opening neither. There are some issues regarding actions done on the same button.

  • @Yamaoka said:

Let me ask you something. How many chances did this Rank 3 Bubba have to chainsaw me?

    https://youtu.be/ltGSfc-p_ug

Actually I saw 2 chances, which he messed up by potatoing around. Single videos are not really good proof of any balance or viability. Same to @Yamaoka . And talking about "how to use pallets", it didn't look so optimal in your video either. Waiting and throwing it instantly, no mind gaming at all making him charge the chainsaw for waste... He just gave you back way more time by mindgaming safe loops.

The problem is that Leatherface is simply an M1 killer and there is not really something in his background that could give him any other approach to get something beneath his chainsaw. And the chainsaw cannot really be changed in any viable way. Instant downs whenever you want is strong, but he has no way to counter chases in any way with his power. If he doesn't find survivors offguard or in the open or manages to body block in any way, he has literally no power.

  • @Aztreonam78 why is it worthless with no hex totems? dont you get maximum usage of this perk then? But still agree with Waffle that this perk is pretty weak. Combining with Inner strength would be the only worthy thing but spending a perk slot for that isn't really.

Add something like "See auras of survivors working on totems" or "Other survivors see your aura while working on totems" or something.

  • @grayon444 yes, still think that most of them just rush towards the killer to get out of the game. And still the opinion that auto struggle will not be a positive QoL change at all, more of a nerf regarding the situations where it makes sense to stop struggling

  • That pretty much nullifies Thrill of the hunt... annoyed by killers protecting their totem or what? Just make the perk "Hex totems in 16m range instantly explode"

EDIT first read entirely and consciously, then comment. XD *donk*

1 … 55 56 57 58 59 … 62
