I know this isn't really relevant, but I see you have discordance 3 on your wraith. Tip: never bring discordance past tier 1, because tier 1 discordance is best discordance. You'll get a notification of survivors working together every 8 seconds, which is much more frequent than 12 seconds.

Give him the full story though. Yes you get less noise span but the yellow aura when they let go stays linger at t3. Some of us prefer that

That’s a terrible solution. Greed has nothing to do with it. In this game the killers attack presides over the survivors vault and pallet drop animations. You could clearly see you beat the killer to either one of those things and it made no difference. Heaven forbid a killer miss an attack right? An attack that recovers almost instantly without much of an impactful penalty for missing. It’s ridiculous.

This comment astonishes me. Missin attack can be the difference between a 10 second chase and a minute chase. Thats why people complain about dead hard. Hes right, drop the pallet sooner instead of trying to get one more loop out of it.

  • Im an author, have self published 3 books. Got into an argument with a survivor on Twitter. They left a negative review on one of my books. REALLY pissed me off but nothing i can do about it. Idk ######### is wrong with a lot of these people.

Ive met some really nice ones too tho

  • I think of it as a bp booster. Its pretty nice for that

  • I think of it like fired up, the more gens get done the more aggressive I get. If were down to 2 gens and ive only got 2 hooks, idgaf if its my faukt cause i screwed up or if they were gen rushing people are getting camped. Glives are off.

As faemr as tunneling it depends on what you mean. If you unhook someone in front of me you better have bt or that person is getting slugged and im chasing you. But no i dont tend to tunnel. I will prioritize though and theres a bifmg difference between the 2.

  • I do think ff should last a little longer

  • Idk but you should block all the names out or the mods will ban you.

Report them if you recorded it, if you didnt next time record it

  • 😂 i meant it takes an infinite amount of time to recover from exhaustation while running and thats balanced imo

  • Infinite. Infinite feels balanced

  • Hinestly i dont think either really fits the game thematically.

Lol, fair enough. I will try just hitting those dudes who always elude me.

I do appreciate the advice and I guess just keep practicing. I know it is a me issue a lot of the time and I need the practice. I just lose patience when I get loss after loss. As I say I was at the end of a 2 week losing streak. I got my 4k today with my first ever game as hag. No perks or add-ons and I killed them all. So shocked but it has made me feel a little better.

Cheers again for the advice and I hope you continue to kick ass.

It does get easier the more you do it. Usually when i lose i know what mistake i made. Youll get there if you keep at it. But believe me i understand the frustration. Good luck

  • Half the time it feels like a wasted slot to me, but when its needed its really needed

Dude I did say thank you for your advice, it really is appreciated. I can't thank you enough for at least some insight into how to get better. As I said before though, this is really difficult to do when I am consistently matched against players that just out rank me. They literally run circles round me. Then I check profiles to find that some the players I am against have hundreds or thousands of hours.

I am not trying to be a dick I am just so incredibly frustrated with how this game plays out. And I feel powerless and hard done by, not by you, or the players but by Behavior. They have made a game that really do enjoy playing. It is so much fun sometimes. The state of the games matchmaking atm though makes it nearly impossible for me to have fun as killer. It is no fun being flashlighted every time I go near a survivor. Or finding that an entire team is running BT, DS and all came prepared with flashlights and keys

I am sorry for sounding like a dick and being a dick but I am just frustrated. I dont know how to implement the advice you have given me and that also makes me frustrated. Especially when you read through these forums and most people are just saying, get gud or that I should run perks I dont have because Im new to the game and cant earn more than 10000 BP per match. It's real slow going.

Then there is the toxic attitude of all players. If I lose a match I berated and called a noob and all that pish, which doesnt bother me too much but its pretty toxic. I won a hag game today btw, after falling 4 ranks and being put against low ranked players. At the end of the game they told me that it was OP me putting my traps near gens, hooked survivors and exits. What the hell am I supposed to do?

Fair enough. I saw the get gud part and got angry. My apologies.

If theyre running circles around you, hit them. I had a game once, i think i was purple, guy was doing the same thing. Running curcles and dodging. I said forget the match and just practiced hitting that guy. I only hit him once. We talked a bit after. I wasnt angry, it was practice. Couple of weeks i killed that guy and realized it after, we talked a bigmt again. I had improved drastically. This is what i meant by forget the W, just practice.

Perks arent going to help you if people can literally run circles around you. Worry about that, the perks will come.

If youre on console turn public messages off, if youre on pc close the box. Do this until you hit r1, and forget the complaints from survivors. They dont make the rules. You should be putting traps near important gens and hooked survivors. One of the most carthetic things in this game is killing some dude and then him complaining about camping or tunneling and responding with "and? Ill do what i want to do"

So basically what you are saying is "Get Gud". I know I am not the best killer, I am aware there will be teams that are just better than me.

Can you admit though that when you lose every single game you are in because of SWF it can get a bit tedious?Eventually frustrating, followed by rage inducing.

Especially when I have to wait 10-15 minutes just to find a game. Get into the game and there's SWF red ranks. Every single time. Why every time? because it's so easy to red rank with SWF because of the inherent advantage that they have.

Thank you for your suggestions on how to "Get Gud" but at the end of the day these wont help me to get better, or get practice. I play game after game and consistently get 1 or 2 downs and maybe a couple of hooks. I am putting in the hours but to no avail. So I am of the opinion that is Behavior dont want to fix it then I should take a trip to Montreal and 'Convince" them to fix it. They make a game without comms, they put in the user agreement that using 3rd party programs/devices or tools to gain advantage in the game wasn't allowed. Most of the community breaks this rule and it ruins the game and they do nothing about it. It is an absolute piss take. They need to sort their act out and listen to their customers, otherwise no one will ever have any faith in them, as a company, to deliver what they say they will.

Jesus dude, no i didnt say "get gud" but now that you gave me that smart ass response i wish I had instead of spending 20 minutes trying to help your ass. Enjoy being salty and getting stomped.

ehhh duuuh, all 3 cant be on gens since at least 1 is unhooking. And in solo Q its not rare that noone is on gens since everyone is trying to unhook.

What do you think happens when you start chasing the guy that got unhooked? You think the unhooker just stands there and watches? Run kindred if youre worried about it

  • Its very rare i dont get 1 per blood web

Yes I did and you were saying that SWF isnt a problem. Maybe not for you, a rank 1 killer who has a good grasp of the game and plays a really decent killer. I mean Myers is crazy good sometimes.

I am a new player who wants to get better but finds it impossible to do so as I have 10-15 minute waits to get into games as killer and when I do get a game I am always against a red rank SWF team. So what would you suggest I do in that situation? How do I get practice? How do I get better. I haven't got a 4k in over 2 weeks now that I am not playing rank 20 noobs. So now I am getting frustrated and to be honest dont want to play anymore. I play solo survivor. I am rank 3. So its not that I dont enjoy playing and havent got some grasp. I am not a complete noob.

I just want the opportunity to play on a even playing field. Not have a toxic SWF that always knows where I am and what I am doing and I have no recourse.

So tell me in your almighty wisdom, what is my recourse? How do I avoid or beat SWFs?

Well matchmaking is screwing you putting you against red ranks, I think you kind of missed my point though.

Let me try it this way. There are 3 types of games you'll get.

Bully Squads: these are usually, but not always swf groups. They look to get flashlight saves, body blocks, sabos. The good thing about tgese groups is they arent doing gens. Maybe 1 of them is but thats a hell of a lot better than 3 of them. You beat them by slugging them. Everyone catches hands. Keep them injured. Make them respect you and theyll either stop or die.

Gen rushers: these are usually but not always swf groups. And theres 2 different ways they can go about this and it matters. The first wsy is 1 person keeps you distracted while the other 3 bunch up on a gen. You beat them by dropping chase of the one dude and attacking the 3. This is the easier group to beat as long as you dont get caught up chasing that one dude. This also happens in solo que a lot, that guy running across the map clicking in your ear? Yeah ignore him, let him watch you down the guy working on a gen, just watch for the flashlught save

The other gen rush group splits up and works 4 different gens. This is tge swat swf group everyone is complaining about. Theyll finish 3 gens by the time you get your first down. Theyll finish another by the time you get your second. The only thing ive found that works consistently is basement camping and hoping they are altruistic. They probably are. If you cant get them in the basement then youre just prixy camping and getting as many hits/hooks as you can. Its very rare youll 4k against this group but you might be able to squeek out a safety.

The 3rd game is where the survivors for whatever reason just arent doing gens in any sort of timely manner. Theyre usually, but not always, solos. These games are pretty easy and if you lost its 100% on you.

Now notice i said usually but not always in front of those, tgere are plenty of swf that arent good. I play with a buddy, im decent but hes a noob. That was my point. Solos can gen rush too, ive seen it happen. Its just more rare.

The other thing you have to keep in mind is that these games can flip at anytime. They might start out gen rushing and then turn into a bully squad. They might start out trying to bully then give up and dick around. So you have to be mindful of the games shifting and adjust accordingly.

As for my "infinite wisdom" (not sure why you chose to be a dick there but whatever), stop worrying zbout the 4k. It doesnt matter. Especially if youre going up against players ranked way higher than you. Instead focus on landing as many hits as you can. As you get better at landing hits the downs will come. As the downs come the hooks follow. As the hooks follow so do the k's. Basically Im saying, stop worrying about the rank of your opponent or if theyre in a group and focus on what youre doing wrong.

You cage a survivor, he's insta saved but you don't even know where he is. You can lose all your momentum because of this lack of information. Thanks BHVR for making the new killer trash. At least give him a buff on another aspect of his power to compensate. It seems like he's just a weaker huntress now

Not really, you just need to be more thoughtful on when you use tge cage and not try and rely on tunneling to win. If for instance you use tge cage to avoud ds thats better than slugging in some situatiins. If you down the person near the gens you want to save you can send them across the map away from those gens.

you are a rank 1 killer. I am rank 12 with about 200 hours in the game. So well done to you that you can play against this sort of thing but me personally... I cant even get practice at this game because swf comes in and ruins almost every single game I have. Yes SWF is a big deal as I am a rank 3 survivor just through SWF. It makes the game a shed load easier. This disparity gives a clear advantage and ruins the game for any new killers. But you don't have to say you are going to say "JUST GET GUD!" thats an ######### response by elitist #########.

What? Did you even read my post?

  • @LowSpecGamersMatter said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1404040#Comment_1404040

Exactly, and that at least punishes the killer if he stays on the slug or avoids tunneling by the killer leaving. But 30 seconds is not enough time to punish a killer for tunneling. especially when the timer is already going down when unhooked, because most killer start the chase around 10 seconds after the unhook happened (unless facecamping ofc) so standing on the slug for 20 seconds doesnt hurt enough

20 seconds is a 4th of a gen. If all 3 survivors are on gens (as they probably are) thats 60 seconds gone. I disagree, it is enough punishment. Most people arent doing that anyway.

That said, i dont care about the timer, i was just pointing out people get slugged either way. Theres 2 situatiins where ds is bs. When they arent being tunneled and i happen across them at 59 seconds and get hit with a ds i wasnt expecting, and at the very end of the match it virtually gaurantees a free escape.

So what is probably the best solution is to remove the timer entirely. It becomes deactivated when the survivor fully heals or interacts with a gen/locker/totem and doesnt work at all during egc.

  • This seems like a fair change to me, though as someone that doesnt camp/tunnel the cages im going to miss tge information.

  • @Peanits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1404042#Comment_1404042

If that's your issue with it, wouldn't a more elegant solution be to disable DS when you touch a generator? Then you don't have to worry about moonwalking to cheese the mechanics about it, it just straight up disables the second you decide, "I'm not getting tunneled, I'm putting myself back in the game."

    Yes! Please!

  • @Peanits said:

To play the devil's advocate, what's stopping me from cloaking as Wraith or moonwalking after you as any other killer for 30 seconds and then downing you? Or even just slugging you for 30 seconds and then picking you up?

Tbf though we slug them now for 60 seconds 🤷‍♂️

  • @Wubalubadubdub03 said:

Make it 60 seconds and pause during a chase, or paused when slugged. It would be too easy to slug and avoid ds if it is 30 seconds total.

I dont think it should deactivate when healed, but it should deactivate if you try to rescue someone off a hook.

    What? You just buffed it

  • I got hooked once and went into struggle phase when i got it. The scenario you described might just be something they overlooked when making the challange.

Legion is probably pretty good but I find bubba to be an odd choice. Ruin always seems to work better on killers who have decent map control. I can't get mine to last midgame most of the time so it isn't very valuable for me.

No it works great on him. Ruin + Survelliance is a great combo on any killer but a killer that can 1 shot its ecmven better. I do ruin + suirvallance + bbq + m&a.

  • @Mozzie said:

Hey Almo, what are those statistics in red ranked matches? I would guess that number is closer to 10-20%. There's a reason why slugging and unbreakable are gaining a resurgence. Hell, I don't even run pop on Freddy anymore. If you are rank 20-10 Ruin and Pop are fine. If you are getting into red ranks against swf teams you cannot be spending time popping gens.

I run it regularly on legion and bubba. Im an r1 so usually mm puts me ahmgainst decent players. It does ok, outside of the games where someone spawns on top of it id bet it lasts to mid game most of the time, and usually by the time they cleanse it im already way ahead. Its a decemt perk.

Had a match recently with what I think was a SWF. They got three gens done before I could hook one person. The match had been going for maybe two or three minutes? I thought they were hacking at first because it shouldn't be possible to get that many generators done that quickly.

3 different survivors on 3 different gens can have those 3 gens done in about 100 seconds if theyre doing everything perfectly. Gen is only 80

This is how I've been trying to force myself to play, and I admittedly do have a problem prioritizing which gens I'm protecting early enough for sure.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1402338#Comment_1402338

I definitely need to improve on how much and when I focus on securing kills/hooks, though I'm definitely trying to avoid straight up actively tunneling/camping just to be a good sport, but I legitimately do think I tend to wander off from hooks a bit too much overall atm to try and keep pressure on gens.

If you want to be a "good sport" youll stay in purples or get really good with nurse or billy. Those are the options. Theres not enough time to get 24 hits and 12 hooks. That only happens when the survivors are bad. Any decent survivor can do a gen

And understand I do get your mindset. I was the same way. Then i realized the survivors arent "good sports" why am I handicapping myself to be nice?

  • @SebaOutbreak said:

Yep, they're still bugged. I'm saving all of them so they don't get wasted. For now it's best to farm them in your bloodwebs and use them later on.

However, most players are not aware of this, they just keep trying to stack multiple cakes in a single match, thus wasting them all. I even had a 4-man party insulting me, the Killer, because I didn't farm with them (killed them all, btw they didn't even show signs of wanting to farm, they rushed gens like there was no tomorrow), then I told them the cakes were bugged, but they didn't believe me and kept on throwing insults. Oh well.

Im using them to get more. Its still 140% bp bonus. Ive got like 30 on ph and 10 on a bunch of other killers. Theres nothing wrong with using them now.

people can play a game for a variety of reasons, and if they play killer because they want to win, then there's something wrong in their motivation. Killer most of the times do not have any chance of winning, if they have a small window of winning is usually achieved after a lot of high pressuring actions and most importantly all of their efforts can instantly be vanished by any little, insignificant error/bug/survivor perk.

Hence, I don't even know why people still play killer nowadays.

I think you need to reread your first sentence and then smack yourself 😂

  • The thing that i had to get past to reach red ranks was the survivor rule book. Like it or not you have to play to your advantage. This means slugging that dude that just got unhooked, chasing down the dude thats on deathook and no longer as ds, camping the guy thats only got 15 seconds left because the others wete trying to gen rush so hard they left him hanging, all manner of assholery has to be on the table. Eventually youll be good enough to recognize the games where this is necessary and where it isnt but for now thats what you need to do. Get good at being a dick. Youre a murderer after all, a predator. A lion does not concern itself with the opinion of sheep.

Yeah but many people still call Adrenaline a crutch...

    Many people are goofy

  • For Legion: Survelliance + Ruin + bbq + discordance

Add ons at least 1 add on that increases ff duration and i like the pins. The one that causes broken is the best but the mangeled one is also good

For Fred: discordance + pop + bbq + whatever 4th slot you want.

Add ons are kind of whatever obviously the ropes and chain are good for further gen slowdown

  • Go check out tru3talents "bubba is underrated #5" buuusted

  • I did, Im trying to get you to think a little harder on what you call a crutch perk by poking fun at you. Unrelenting is a crutch perk, ds is a crutch perk, these things carry you when you do bad (like a crutch does when your legs broken) things that reward you for being successful are the opposite of a crutch perk. Prove thyself, bbq, these are not crutch perks.

  • Imagine calling something a crutch perk when it requires you to be successful and rewards you for that success. 🤦‍♂️

  • @ItzNobody said:

'Forced Penance' is a new killer perk belonging to The Executioner. Survivors who take a Protection Hit are inflicted with the Broken Status Effect for 40/50/60 seconds.

Forced Penance has some synergy with the Mad Grit Build, allow me to elaborate. The Mad Grit Build requires the following perks: Agitation, Iron Grasp, Mad Grit, Hangman's Trick. Replacing Hangman's Trick with Forced Penance removes the tracking ability in favor of punishing neaeby Survivors with the Broken Status Effect. It is entertaining and strangely effective from my experience.

Which is why I feel Forced Penance needs to change.

Mad Grit is a meme perk in my opinion, which I would define as a low-usage specific perk that rarely receives value. Monstrous Shrine, Hex: The Third Seal, Cruel Limits and Mindbreaker are several examples of what I would classify as meme perks, useless for victory results but fun to use for entertainment only. I strongly believe this perk would have value on the Oni, as applying the Broken Status Effect guarantees more blood in the future. However, Forced Penance has one fatal flaw in its design.

Its control is in the Survivors hands, not yours. Therefore their is a high chance you may see little to no value from Forced Penance in numerous games.

Forced Penance I feel needs a change, but my proposed Idea would be a complete rework. A quick overview of The Executioner shows that he focuses on torment through deceiving methods, applying the Oblivious Status Effect through Deathbound and gaining the Undetectable Status Effect through Trail of Torment. Why not apply the same effect on Forced Penance?

    My idea would be this.

Forced Penance: When a Survivor rescues another Survivor from a hook, Forced Penance triggers and applies the Oblivious Status Effect on the rescuer for 40/50/60 seconds.

Though my idea is by no means powerful, it would allow the perk more flexibility for perk synergy and usage, while in theory remaining true to The Executioner's focus on torment and deciet. At least, in my opinion it does.

Do you agree or disagree with my proposed change for Forced Penance? Support your thoughts and if you have other changes in mind, feel free to share your thoughts and share this idea in case the developers were to notice.

Oh man, yeah that would be awesome with myc
