Buddy you just made tunneling and camping better.
How to incentivize people to not tunnel: Base kit DS for 30 seconds.
How to incentivize people not to camp: I have no idea, basically all ideas i can come up with are probably pretty abusable.

Going for 12 Hooks is impossible against good Survivors if you're not playing Nurse or Blight
And he asked for actual, honest reasons why he shouldnt just camp and tunnel so im providing him with one : )

Going for 12 Hooks is impossible against good Survivors if you're not playing Nurse or Blight
No just difficult, not every team is seal force 6. The point is if he goes for 12 hooks and gets only say 3-4, he will understand that maybe he sucks at chases, remembering where survivors are, which gens are being worked on w/e, all the things that would have allowed him to get a lot more.
Camping and tunneling works, they just makes you worse at the game than you would otherwise have been and when you try not camping and tunneling you'll feel like the game is impossible and incredibly survivor sided because you have no idea how to play the game.
Its a crutch, thats what crutches do, makes you bad at the game if its the only thing you can do.

Don't you have to be good at chase to down the survivor you are gonna camp? Do survs always want use to hook each surv 3 times? With gens being done so quickly, a 4 vs 1 is not easy
Lol did you seriously compare getting 12 different downs and hooks in the course of the game with getting 1 down and going from there?
Yes there is a big difference. Go for a 12 hook game and then you'll maybe understand how much you need to get better at the game : )

Playing against nurse wouldn't be so bad if every nurse didn't run the most busted build imaginable. It's always starstruck, haunted ground, double range, etc. How often does anyone run into a nurse that isn't sweating hard? Like what's the point in even trying if the person playing them is even average?
starstruck is overhyped on nurse. Vs people splitting up and playing properly, it doesnt do much and its counterplay is just booking it to the other side of the map when you do get hit by it.
Instead survivors just try to do dumb stuff like body block or show themselves when you are close to hooking the survivor and then act surprised when they get downed 5 seconds later. My brother in christ, what did you think was going to happen.
I swear the most ''busted'' combos in this game like pr/dms and starstruck on nurse is just incredibly easy to deal with but that seems to be too much for the average player
-
This perk is ripe for abuse and im surprised its not talked about more.
Conspicuous action doesnt matter when more than 1 people have the same idea and are doing this so for swfs that just want to take hits for each other and fool around, this perk is a godsend.
But probably more worryingly this perk is legitimately scary when paired with Object of Obsession. You can broadcast with pinpoint accuracy all of the killers actions so the killer is either forced to have to deal with survivors that book it to the other side of the map before the killer even sees them or has to chase a survivor that has an additional health state, can see the killer coming and will play it super safe just to waste as much time as possible.
Yeah i mean, worst perk in the rooster mate.

Heres the thing that is holding the balance back from any other online game that has a competative scene and that is a market for it. This game primarily is a relax and chill game with a tad bit of suspense. I am not saying it couldnt be there just its not really balanced for it in general like say a game like Overwatch is. Sure dbd could potentially get there it would just require a lot of work and i dont think the majority of the players would like the balancing act that would have to happen were it to go that route. I mean look at how much they are complaining right now with this last patch
Its an asymmetric game. Balancing it at all levels is impossible. The game is balanced around casual experience.
Even though our usual doomposters says otherwise, the kill rates atm is probably around 60% for casual play when we discount all the times survivors just give up on first down.
Game is atm unfun and unbalanced because lots of people just throw the games. Solo q's worst enemy is solo q.
-
Because it makes you unironically bad at killer if the only thing you can do is camp and tunnel <3
Are you good at chases? Pressuring gens? Remembering where survivors were and where they probably are now? If you only camp and tunnel, those skills probably rusted or never got polished in the first place. There is a time and place to tunnel and camp and proxying is basically always good but if you just camp and tunnel you will get results, they just wont be the best ones you could get.
-
I would be totally fine with a 20 sec, 5 sec stun DS. Granted its deactivated after gens are completed.

Head On isn't particularly fun. It requires either coordination with multiple people in a SWF in order to get any value at all, and/or a particularly clueless killer.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3114108#Comment_3114108
I've played enough killer to realize that even four people using DH in the most efficient, boring way possible, is still a hell of a lot more fun than everyone just zooming away at the start of every chase.
Bruh are you trying to convince yourself that the new meta is less fun than the old DH meta for killers.
Bruh
Cmon buddy friend pal, you arent fooling anybody : )

Not really. I tested it with Kate, who's one of the less noisy survivors. I hid in lockers, found. I hid around places moving as the killer moved, found. No longer stealthy.
It messed me up some when i was playing spirit but than again im not even close to being good at spirit.

I am happy with that Thana change. Legion has now some counterplay (which benefits Legion since you shouldn't heal) and it's not so boring, annoying, tedious and strong to play againts. #HappySoloQ
Legion, one of the weakest killers in the game even with old thana, just now has some counter play?
I mean just spread out and whats gonna legion do? Nothing is what he is gonna do lol

It would be easy because you could see everyone's perks over their head (with a new interface). Perks that are not repeated are blue and perks that are repeated are red.
Most people in a swf are two man groups so it's incredibly simple to not have any repeats. Don't want hassle? Play with only one other person. Three and Four man teams together are less than 20% of the player base (From the last data set we were given). They are some of the best players with the highest win rates. High MMR teams massively raise the average of escape rates as we have some streamers with insane esacpe streaks before and after the patch.
Sure for 2 man its relatively easy though still annoying.
For 3 and 4 man swfs it becomes very annoying.
Look i am not against the idea, it would just kill the game.
-
Hunktress has 2 good iri ones afaik. Though she also has other good ones.

IW was nerfed... what stealth are you talking about? >_>
That didnt kill stealth. And IW still works pretty well if you care to stealth with it. It just doesnt work if killer finds you and you SB away or something.

As an Artist main, I agree. The DMS/Pain Res combo is way more obnoxious and frequent than Pain Res/Merciless ever was.
Moreover, now nobody will ever run DMS without Pain Res. Without Pain Res, it's basically a dead perk.
Artist would have used bbq + old dms with 45 seconds to camp way harder.
New dms/pr is a huge nerf to artist.
There seems to be .... a conflict of interest here mate <3

Everyone literally has always said swf is about playing with friends. It's not a big deal the nerf I proposed.
It makes playing with friends a hurdle. Casual players wont enjoy being forced to run weird perks or waste 10 minutes to figure out how to make 4 builds that makes sense without duplicate perks.
It would be pretty annoying and thats a big no no to keep casuals happy. This is coming from a killer main btw. I would love if swfs were hit like that, but realistically speaking, it would kinda kill the population.

This is some exquisite trolling.
-
Yeah, dude didnt know what floods of rage did. Got accused of wallhacking lol. But they were prestige 10+, playing as SWF etc, not exactly new..
Also sometimes when i do too well i get friend invites on steam, im guessing thats because my profile is private and being friends lets them see if i have any bans or something? Either way having private profile is like an invite for people to call you a hacker in this game lol.
-
Sorry you got it wrong there are like 5-6 killers in this game.
Rest are joke characters.
Hehehe trapper . Lol imagine actually playing clown and expecting to win against decent players.

@DBDVulture said:
Nurse is dumb in that she is really easy to play once you figure her out. She is very forgiving in that she breaks most of the game physics rules. You can just blink kinda close and correct with the second blink almost all the time.
Otz had a video with some really nice suggestions on how to nerf her.
1) making her blink lunge be 50% reduced as base kit would really increase survivor counterplay as it would require more precise blinks.
2) Make her default blink be -4 meters base kit. This would make her often need to blink a few times if she didn't make a right read or made a mistake.
3) He implies that she should lose her omega blink as well as blink refresh/distance addons and this too would be a fair change. Making all her blinks be a uniform distance with a standard recharge time would make blink easier to learn and let survivors play against her better.
4) What Otz fails to address is the nurse's ability to "floor blink". Nurse can always cancel a blink by blinking into the floor. This means she does not get punished for holding a blink too long. This needs to change - if she blinks and there is no floor under her she should just zoom on ahead the full distance she charged. This would make nurse lose a "catch 22" ability she has now where she can charge a blink and not be punished if she cancels it by floor blinking.
5) Nurse is the only killer really capable of handling top tier SWF groups. So until SWF gets changed to be less efficient then nurse needs to stay as she is right now.
How should SWF get changed? Very simple : in a SWF group no character/perk/item can be repeated. That will make solo queue have an advantage in that you could have 4 characters running the exact same build. Meanwhile SWF get to play with their friends and get voice coms.
Thats not how you nerf swf. That would be insanely frustrating to play for casual players.
I can get behind no duplicate items for swfs though. But even that is maybe too much. Honestly just buff solos first and then worry about swf.
At least that hud showing what each one is doing

The video shows that your numbers are wrong. the combo needs about 2:30 minutes to completely regress a 99.99% generator. Now imagine that against solo q. I know it is a common trend to just spit some numbers but no.
Please go back and read it again, i said 2 minutes 30 as well lol :)
And considering it takes 1 minute 30 to completely repair a gen, using 2 perk slots to regress it in 2 whole minutes and 30 seconds is insanely bad.
Not to mention they are painfully bad on their own.
No matter how you look at it this is just weak and worse its countered by tapping it instantly. You can even do it during chase. Is this the fearsome slow down meta lol.
-
Buddy you cant yeah no literal facts

Dunno man, lots of doomposting recently but my queus are absolutely fine. 1-3 mins max and trust me i would have taken 5 just to be rid of old DH <3
-
I mean it takes 2 minutes 30 seconds to fully regress a gen with CoB its not so bad.
Sorry i lied thats with CoB and Overcharge and can be cancelled with a quick tap.
CoB needs 4 minutes 45 seconds
And overcharge is 3 minutes 3 seconds.
Pop is meh.
PR is probably the best one and its only 13 seconds + the killer doesnt get notified where you are so you can just keep working on it.
Lets not pretend like killer slowdowns didnt get gutted. Please.
-
Ehhhhh. It works but i gave it up. I'm running PR/Floods/BBQ/Lethal. Could probably change bbq to dms and be more effective but it feels better just immediately starting the next chase. It feels more fun.

Well there could be one that increase luck, one that shows the killers aura. Or there could be one that benefits only one person not the team
The benefits one person angle could be interesting.
-
Boons are hard to do. I think with shadow step and CoH they already covered 90% of useful ideas.
Dark theory covers the rest. What other useful idea can they come up with? Can you come up with any?
-
Well yes if they also gave survivors the ability to shoot the killer in the knee, that would be pretty fun as well.
It just wouldnt be healthy for the game.
I think there are many strictly ''fun'' perks in game like blastmine, head on, MoM, power struggle w/e. You can have ''fun'' without it being fun because its stupidly overpowered. Lets not make perks stupidly overpowered eh?

Solo Q players and Killers are natural enemies.

That is your opinion, but the numbers of people leaving specifically because of this patch prove that it's the wrong position, this patch made a huge a mount of mistakes that resulted in a lot of people quitting outright.
Oh no the most busted perk in DBD's history got nerfed, we are so sad. Anyway.

Buff hard enough you will face against Ayrun or similar, you will still think survivors adapted and the buff still not enough.
