I mean I get why it might upset you but I don’t think a perk should be nerfed for an event. These changes aren’t going to last forever - they’re just something new to try and spice things up a little. I see no problem with that. The one thing I might change is the killer’s ability to expose a survivor. It’s a little imbalanced as is - survivors can summon pallets and killers can resist stuns. Survivors can block vaults and killers can remotely break pallets and walls. If killers can apply exposed for a duration then survivors should be able to apply endurance for a duration. That makes it even.

all of Ash William perks are terrible perks so much so that there is no reason to buy his dlc. I am hoping they can make middle of the road perks that people might use in long-term.
Flip-Flop can give you a lot of value.

Apparently after getting bloodlust 1 during a chase, the killer with an invitation charge can expose you and then down you.
This was one day before the event though. It’s still a mysterrrryyyyyy.

Honestly, I’m against them toning down anything to make scratch marks easier to track. Having maps that are more challenging for different styles of gameplay is great in my opinion.

While I don't want to force people to stay in games, that's a pretty crappy attitude to have.
They've turned on DBD and went through the process to get into the game and by giving up they're actively ruining the game for others. If folks aren't willing to commit to playing a game out they should consider whether or not they should be playing the game at all. Perfect example happened to me last night, I play Skull Merchant and down a Feng and they dc the moment I pick them up. Didn't tunnel them, wasn't camping, didn't even attempt to hold gens, just play regular m1 killer chases. They threw their toys out of the pram and dc on their first down which hurt their team.
Why even play this game specifically if you can't handle playing a game out? To me it just seem like if you're just gonna give up on first hook or dc maybe you don't actually want to play dbd. People playing Knight, Artist, Spirit, Nurse, or Skull Merchant doesn't absolve them of blame for being bad players.
I mean, I have to agree with this. There are some killers I hate playing against. However, I don’t feel like punishing said killer or my teammates just because of that. I play to have a good time and I want others to have a good time as well. When teammates abandon or suicide it sucks. That being said… I do believe in players having agency and if they’re not having a good time… I don’t know. I do think people can be too entitled and selfish. I’ve seen many players DC on first down and I just don’t get it. I don’t get why a lot of people in these games behave the way they do…

I bet they’ll definitely include it in future tomes for sure. There should be a tournament with this feature!

I don't understand why killers want to bring Black Wards or Petrified Oaks... Same goes for survivors wanting to bring low BP offerings and White Wards.
One singular Terrormisu costs 3k BP, and it's not a personal offering. Where's the logic in not bringing it, especially during the event?
Now if we could do something about those greedy rats with Survivor Pudding/Escape Cakes....
I was still working on prestiging a lot of my newer characters when the event started and I didn’t even think to save BP to get cakes for all the others. Now I have some with 20+ and others with none. I’m trying to balance it out so my others have some to play but honestly… should I have to? If I wanted to save them and not use them literally every match that’s my decision to make. And when I play killer I don’t use any offering because I never started leveling them so I never have any to burn. Why are people so entitled to think they should be able to choose if and what offering another player brings just because it’s the anniversary?

Hey, if anyhting it's helped me to learn real quick how to hide and kite killers when caught lol.
I keep asking to fix how loud they are, as it feels wrong that I can switch to Ada and be injured by the gate, have the killer walk by and not hear me so I can escape, yet when I'm Lisa or Claire they ALWAYS hear me. I'm not fond of either dealing with that or iron will taking up a perk slot which barely does much with these two anyway.
What about Yoichi and his yellow jacket? Pretty easy to spot unless you’re on Coldwind lol

I do want to point out survivors didn’t grief each other with PTB Reassurance. It was something a handful of players hysterically floated so that the perk was nerfed because they believed it would be too strong. I played that PTB. Never saw any hostage situations.
I was unaware of that. My apologies.

My point still stands. Best solution right now is to switch sides. Other than that, you can say "thank you" to our community, that sabotaged every attempt from the devs to solve this.
You have been around long enough to see it. How hook progess stop when the killer was in a certain radius, caused survivors to loop the killer around the hook.
Or how swivel hooks (unhook from every angle) just changed the meaning of face camping.
Or how stackable effects from BT, OtR and DH resulted in 5 hits to down a survivor.
The devs really tried to solve this, but our community is really good in... well... sabotaging ourselves.
Yes, everyone switch to killer so that there are no survivors to play against. Makes sense! You are right, some of the fault lies with players as to why some things can’t work right such as when survivors griefed others with Reassurance so they had no choice but to nerf it. That doesn’t mean that camping isn’t a problem, and sometimes when they try to balance things they just make things unnecessarily useless. Look at Decisive Strike… did it need fixed? Yes, but they went too far. There’s no reason it should deactivate when the exit gates open. Some players don’t get hooked until the exit gates open and then they lose any advantage the perk would grant them. It’s like they’re saying that if a killer downs a survivor after the gates open then they DESERVE the kill which is problematic. You only get to use DS once… choosing when to do so is part of the survival strategy. So, yeah, instead of trying to give survivors ways to combat lazy and toxic gameplay they should instead work on penalizing the killer instead because whatever perks survivors are given to help often get made irrelevant anyway.

Exactly, and that's what do I do.. But the moment I run back, they do use that momentum to get to windows and repeatedly fast vault to mess up with my eardrums; Once I get to the second exit gate, the picture is still the same with X survivors waiting there for me to force them out.
There's not much I can do here besides forcing them out even though it doesn't benefit me in any way.. I have learned throughout the years, however, that the best move is to force them out while walking backwards, so they don't get rewarded the chasing points and the chased emblem.
A lot of the time when players are getting forced out I think it’s just a way to earn more BP with them. Some of them will let me down them and others will run out before I can hit them but either way I’m not bothered by it. Once those exit gates are opened and the survivors are in the gates I know the game already went to them so better to just have more fun until the very end. When I’m a survivor I’ll let the killer chase me around, hit me, down me if they want. Sometimes they don’t go for it and I wonder if they think I’m trying to be toxic but I’m not I just want everyone to get the most out of their match.

True, but if slugging / camping is recognised survivors can immediately start working on the gens to finish them in time. In this way the killer is punished (1K is not an accomplishment).
That still screws over one player, and I also don’t like the idea of “1k isn’t an accomplishment.” If you played your best then it doesn’t matter if it’s a 4k or 0 you accomplished something. Same with survivors - if you die and there’s still gens to do so long as you did your best it’s an accomplishment. On the other hand a 4k isn’t an accomplishment if you had to slug and camp to achieve it.

I would agree with you if the possession duration was permanent, however since the possession duration would only be for a limited time, i don't see any issue with it as long as you can give the player who's Survivor got possessed some kind of mini game for them to do while possessed that would help them or their teammates in some way or form.
And all the killer has to do is fly around and find a survivor to possess?
-
@CorvusCorax86 said:

But if you work together then you are doomed as this altruistic behaviour is what the killer is expecting you to do. It's like Bubba camp. Except: 1) you can't move on the hook and 2) you can't force yourself to die faster while being slugged. The anti-camp feature - I think - was born mainly because of number 2. People just kept trying to unhook themself and they "let it go" at stage 2.
If slugging / tunneling is that bad then can I please have a something-something-basekit for scenarios when I'm found first during the match? Invincibility or teleportation?
The developers stated many times: the 4 survivors should not expect to fully escape.
I never expect to escape a match. I have to work for that. Killers should have to work for their kills too.
-
It sucks but it goes both ways. I’ve seen survivors get downed or grabbed while 4 meters away. It’s hard to tell which side was actually on track.
-
@Crowman said:
Tunneling, Slugging, and Camping are all valid tactics in the game and survivors have perks to help against those strategies. So they are far from toxic.
All three of them are toxic. What am I supposed to do not to get slugged? Bring No Mither and get tunneled right away? Bring Unbreakable so I can get up once only to be downed again? How can I prevent being camped? What perk makes it so I can’t ever get caught or literally makes the killer go away? Kindred will tell other survivors when not to unhook me, but it won’t help me if I’m being face camped unless someone else wants to trade places with me. And while perks like Off the Record, Borrowed Time, and Decisive Strike can help counter tunneling they can’t prevent it if a killer is determined. If you’re a bad player that can’t get a kill without resorting to cheap tactics just admit it.
-
@Smoe said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3445546#Comment_3445546
Simple.
You fly around on the map and possess Survivors to turn them into deadites for a limited time, which would be who you control as the physical killer to hook the other Survivors with, i don't know what power a possessed Survivor would have if they should have any.
Survivors would then have some type of gameplay mechanic that they can use to return back to normal while possessed, similar to how Ash is able to return to normal in ED2, of course what the mechanic is and how fast it can help turn Survivors back can be adjusted and balanced so it's not too easy and fast nor too hard and slow.
Last Survivor could be allowed to be eliminated by either self-hooking or self-mori when possessed.
You could also include the necronomicon which could function similar to the lament configuration, where it's a one time use that helps either the Survivors or the Killer depending on who finds it first. Once it's been used, it will fly to a new location on the map without anyone being able to see it's aura.
That would never work as if you’re possessing a survivor you’re already taking one out of rotation without having to hook them.

Its funny tho that mostly survviors talk about needing basekit perks. Imagine Killers got some top meta perk at full tier3 strength added basekit, the community would rage so hard.
Although, funnily I think not much would change if we got all 3 Wraith perks as basekit improvements, blood is barely helpful/visible, scratchmarks always suck and the FOV is horrible.
If the killer doesn’t stray from the bleeding survivor (which in my games they often don’t because they use them as bait) it’s not that easy to just pick them up unless all 4 players work together which would not only take everyone away from their objectives but is hard to pull off outside of a SWF. What’s really funny is how so many killers complain about SWF and wanting to nerf survivor perks yet they want to be able to do things like slug and camp which there isn’t a good counter for unless you SWF. So what I’m basically hearing is that no matter how a killer chooses to play they should be entitled to the kill. Also, if we don’t take the bait and get our gens done instead then that survivor gets to have a lousy game most likely from the beginning of the match. Fun for everyone.

Yeah...punish the killer for a playstyle that survivors can force with builds. That's a bloody brilliant idea.
Dude, killers will slug regardless. It’s like when they tried to discourage camping and tunneling but killers did it anyway even without needing to resort to it as a last hope. It’s not punishing killers to change these perks - hell, changing No Mither simply makes it viable! Slugging, camping, and tunneling are never things that are forced onto you - it’s just a decision you make to increase your chances of winning and most killers do it without it ever needing to be possible. Why should survivors be punished because you might have to resort to slugging? Easy answer: they shouldn’t.
-
Potential Energy + Prove Thyself + Situational Awareness + Sprint Burst
Having PT & SA will allow you to build your tokens without sacrificing progress on the generator you’re working on. Sprint Burst will help you avoid damage (thus losing tokens) when you are interrupted. Obviously this build, like others, depends on many factors. If other survivors don’t join you on the gen you won’t get the value of PT and SB isn’t a guarantee that the killer won’t still hunt you down and demolish your token progress. If you do manage to get away though I would immediately deposit all of your tokens into the next gen and continue the cycle.
-
I think they could address this in a few ways that are fair. One is to reward zero bloodpoints for any survivor that bleeds out. You didn’t wanna take the time to hook or mori them? You get nothing for their death then. Another way is not to make Unbreakable base-kit which IMO would be a tad OP but to change the way the perk works. Unbreakable can be a very strong perk but it can be pretty useless if a killer is just slugging all match. I think they could add a token system where safely unhooking a survivor (or another action) grants a token up to a maximum of 2. Each token could grant you an additional usage. I think taking the abomination that is No Mither and changing it could help too. I get that it’s a high-risk, high-reward perk but in its current state it’s more risk than anything else as the killer will immediately know you’re running it and many will tunnel you out. I believe they should change it to the following: you start the trial healthy but will become broken upon taking damage. Being unhooked will reset the broken status but will only give you a certain amount of time (around 30 seconds) to heal before the broken status activates again. Once again, taking damage will inflict the broken status and the cycle continues. This change allows you to get usage out of the perk without being forced into an injured state while still having conditions that impose a risk to use. Lastly, they need to rework the bleed-out mechanic. I had a game with a slugging Demogorgon that slugged Kate all match without hooking her and though we continued to pick her up during the EGC he downed her and she literally lasted 1 second before before dying. If a survivor is healed completely to he healthy state they should have their bleed out timer completely reset.

The situations I am assuming you've meant to describe are quite annoying in the beginning, but once you get used to it, you'll feel numb to them and no longer bothered by them attempting to waste your time.
Then in other cases, as have others mentioned, refusing to leave just to buy time or be there in case a team mate awaits or requires a rescue is a nearly guaranteed way to have everybody escape, unless the survivors mess up or the killer messes up their timings on their actions..
.. But if that's not being the case and they're just mindlessly staying there just to leave the moment the killer swings at them? Yeah, such players shall be punished for wasting everybody else's time. One might argue that „you can simply make them leave“, which although is a valid explanation, it doesn't fix the issue as there are two gates and if those gates are quite apart and you're playing a classic M1 killer, we're talking about approximately ~70 seconds of a wasted time every single match this happens. If we were to count the numbers, then it's no longer a small amount in ten matches, is it? That's literally an entire match being AFK just because the survivors have felt like it and wanted to taunt the killer. Surely, that's fun, isn't it?..
If a survivor is already in an exit gate then they’ve pretty much already secured an out. If they’re baiting you just don’t go for it and your time won’t be wasted. You can head to the other exit gate.

So the cakes are useless after event ends or only usable on anniversary?
I'm trying to avoid unlocking them as I have too many already that's why I ask.
I’ve not seen it from the devs but I assume it’s like any past anniversary offering and will never expire. I’d suggest hoarding them.
-
When you gain an invitation it will have 1 charge. Being in a chase for a certain amount of time will add a second charge up to a maximum of two. When you use your special ability it consumes one charge. In order to receive the cosmetic mask you must have at least 1 charge when the EGC triggers. The balloons I am still unsure of myself.

They made it sound like it was gonna be a massive franchise like Jason but if I had my pick I’d choose Clock Tower and make Scissorman a killer and maybe Jennifer Simpson as the survivor. As for a killer only chapter I’d go with Norman Bates - the original psycho.
-
I mean you have to remember too that people playing this game can play whatever offerings they want. It’s not up to me or you or anyone else to play a cake offering to make another player happy. Will I play them? Yes, but when I choose to. If I load into a game and no one plays one then that’s fine, if I’m the only one playing one that’s fine, just play and enjoy the game.

99’ing gate switches and waiting to leave can be useful strategies to help your teammates. Not everyone hangs around just to cheese you off and these strategies shouldn’t be punished because it might irritate you.

What do I call NOED? A hex that can be disabled. Also a perk that works in endgame, not the entire game.
Its effects are also much stronger than Made for This hence why it’s a more situational perk. You can go without a single hook all game and Noed can catch you off-guard and potentially mean a game over. That’s at least as fair as injured survivors getting a tiny speed boost.
-
It’d be cool if they could do masks for all the licensed characters too. I know that presents a bigger challenge with the licensing and all… but I still wish…

I think Ghost Face is the most interesting choice because while he’s a licensed character he’s also a wholly original one.

They are basically in EVERY single bloodweb in multiple numbers. You can get 3-4 a web. There is ZERO reason to not use them outside of being selfish.
I’ve seen 1 at most spawn in a single web with the exception of a mystery box also containing one. As a fairly newer player I am still prestiging a lot of characters I’ve recently unlocked and so not all of my characters have an abundance of cakes yet. Even then, people can use what they want when they want. Some people like to save and use them outside of the anniversary. I’ve seen people play offering from the 3rd and 4th anniversaries just recently, It’s their choice.

No, I don’t think so. It’s designed to benefit everyone no matter what. I had to work all day so I did a few matches before I even started spending my blood points so I obviously didn’t have any cakes to use yet. As a gay person I’m not offended by your comment. I always envisioned that the rainbow flag was a rainbow because it was meant to encompass the spectrum - everyone was represented. However, heterosexuality has always been the “norm” and while I have no problem with it being represented in my flag - Allies are a big part of pride too - I don’t think they have their own flag because they aren’t in the minority - they haven’t had the same struggle for acceptance. I do believe you should still be proud of who you are though, and thank you for being an ally.
