I don't use my mori's so in counting I currently have 585 ebonies so if for some reason I just hate the game or something I can just use ebonies forever... I remember when I used to save mori's for people that's how I got my first 100 ebonies. With how massive my collection is you can tell that first off ebonies are so rare! If you hold a grudge for people for that long though... it's kinda pathetic like THIS GUY TEABAGGED ME ONE YEAR AGO TIME TO TEACH HIM A LESSON. I get where you are coming from.

That’s what I’m saying, people need to just let it go. And understand that they wouldn’t behave that way in person to them, there’s no point to, they need to just let go.

I think that would be the pinnacle of annoyance, like the unwanted child of Legion/Freddy.

Honestly, I don't see how will they fix him, if ever they're gonna try to.

Keep an open mind and take comfort in the fact that should the devs adopt this idea, they will use their expertise to balance it in a way that is acceptable.

The original user user was asking for a radical change that I disagree with, so I gave my own input in the context of a worst case scenario where they can’t find a way (somehow) to improve him (which they will).

Yes, survivor mains are all a hive mind. We have the same opinions on everything.

Nah dude, half the time survivor mains argue amongst themselves.

i see a lot of cannabalizing between survivors honestly. It’s heart breaking.

  • @Tzeentchling9 said:

How is the killer seeing the Survivors' names the source of the toxicity when the killer is responding to toxicity in the first place?

Seems to me that Survivors would continue to be toxic and have no reprecussions from killers.

Because responding to the toxicity breeds it into an angry hornets nest and it spreads everywhere.

a better idea is Freddy is weak as f*** i mean like tier 1 Myers but he can still attack people out of the dream world but the more people he puts to sleep the more powerful like how Myers stalks but when everyone is asleep nobody can do gen or exit gate they are just blocked off but this is just my idea but i dont think 3 freddys will be fun but still a good idea

Freddy shouldn’t be able to attack anyone outside of dream world. If they want to make him stronger, they need to remove the ability to do gens or heal until they’ve been woken up.

  • @Orion sorry for tagging you, no worries not calling you out to argue or something. I know you deal with that A LOT. Or you did at least until everyone began listening to you. This is a positive post for once so just giving you props.

  • why won’t PLAYERS make up their mind, we’re all players. It just looks different because they’re basically two separate games, and I get that it’s fun to have sides that sorta act like factions, but that’s not the way the game was intended. You’re encouraged to play both sides.

None of this survivor versus killer main, please. Most people play at least 60/40 which barely qualifies them as having a “main” which is different than preferred role.

Is there a secret to adapt against MoM? I mean, I tried to use m2 as freddy or wraith all the time but I couldn't counter it. I just need to git gud, right? Eventually I will find out how to counter it, but let me guess: you not gonna tell me, right?

unfortunatley the only thing remotely close to a strat is abusing feral frenzy as legion or using nurse, as well as ignoring players you suspect have it until the end of the match so they can’t use it. Yet again that’s flawed because it would be better to eat it early on, so it’s unnavoidable.

  • @KillermainBTWm8 said:

    Same here struggling sucks.

I want it gone as much as you do. Upvote this so devs will see it for sure.

  • @GrootDude said:

Yes I actually hate struggling a lot more than being tunneled. (Being serious)

I don’t doubt it. It’s the only reason people DC and suicide on hook in my opinion, I truly believe a very large portion of survivor toxicity comes from the killer inconveniencing them with the struggle phase.

Its the reason why player killer toxicity isn’t quite as high as player survivor toxicity. The killer’s biggest inconvenience is being stunned momentarily before becoming a threat again.

I think this is also treading on another important topic, I’ve noticed a lot of killer camping and tunneling is actually due to personal grudges between players. Players who recognize me or I message them before the match never T-bag and even trust me enough to high five at the exit gates if they make it out.

Same with killers who recognize that I play survivor in a way that’s unique and doesn’t involve gen rushing. I’ve had killers outright run past me when they saw someone else in the distance behind me because they like me. they’ll nod (which looks hilarious) and run away. They’ll hit me and down me, but I’m so very rarely hooked by killers who recognize me until near the end of the match.

I think the names of players should be hidden from killer’s perspective in lobbies. I’m guilty of only using mori’s on players I have on a list of toxic targets. At higher ranks, killers are actually quite lenient and not anywhere near as aggressive until they find someone they don’t like. I’m sure you’ve noticed this too. A lot of the time playing ‘gently’ as I call it as a survivor makes the killer kinda go easy on you a good percentage of the time.

Theres something unintentionally addictive about putting the Mori on a t-bagger that sweeped you in a previous match and talked a lot of smack, only to go silent and have no smart remarks when you give em the dirty flatline.

A little social experiment I’ve been conducting for a while now and has some really interesting consistencies.

    In theory it sounds cool

But I think it might backfire in the sense that survivors know Doc ain’t there when he’s standing on a tree branch.

Lol that’s why they can employ self learning AI, all they gotta do is mimic player action in a convincing way, a static object of doc with no spawn rules is different from pathed AI.

  • Just change the stack progression to killer stuns, unhooks, team healing, or body blocking.

  • This became an issue when it was discovered that the DBD community is quite vicious so if someone does something they shouldn’t, it’s an angry mob that shows up to gang up on the guy.

In in a way it’s kinda beautiful how defensive the community is of its own players. Too bad we always fight like siblings lmao.

Nice idea. What about if you die in your first hook?. Would you remove the aura too?

If you die on first hook then oh well. You were a victim of circumstance and your own errors and want a guaranteed use out of it so you can stay in the match longer. That right there is bias. And I’m not trying to pick on you, nor am I picking on you. I’m just very passionate about this game and want to debate everything I feel is unbalanced in a polite and respectful way, so keep that in mind please. Butyou’re talking about whiny killer mains when you’re here defending this perk to the death despite all the good arguments against the perk.

You die on your first hook? Shouldn’t have struggled if you planned on using the perk. No one saved you? Nothing you could do, it’s perfectly normal to have different life expectancies as survivor.

That’s why it’s so appealing to people, they want to defy the odds but some people want to watch the world burn and break the balance of the game and disrespect anyone who thinks otherwise.

No one would have a problem with this perk if it was EARNED through killer stuns, hook saves, sabotage actions, etc. but no it’s given to the guy getting smacked the most.

  • @Angelicus23 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/408144#Comment_408144

Then wouldn't be the same perk at before, just another one completely different. If you watched the series it has it's own sense as how it works

The logic of a TV show is poor justification for the right to effect the balance of DBD’s core interaction mechanic between survivor and killer. It’s not earned, it’s given for being easier to hit.

  • @not_Queef said:

Pretty much anything that doesn't involve a free hit.

Or at the very least have them earn it through pallet stubs or unhooks or successful chases. Not just standing there and getting whacked.

  • whispers, thanatophobia, STBFL, and brutal strength.

Gonna let you go because you didn't see what I tried to make you see with the highlighted text and you still talking about that mentallity

that highlighted text was not hypocritical in anyway, and it’s a fact that there’s no counterplay unless you’re a nurse or a frenzy happy legion. And neither of those things are a favorite of the community. The rest of the roster suffers.

You up want this perk to stay because you like it’s benefits, good for you, but testing it with your friends is bad data versus playing a live match against very competant and coordinated survivors.

the perk has no downsides, no hard work needed, just play as usual and every time you’re hit you get a gold star on your chart towards your ability. All you have to do is get HIT. Not pallet stun, not successfully win a chase, you can stand there, and get whacked.

  • whispers, thanatophobia, STBFL, and brutal strength.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/408078#Comment_408078

Great. Highlight what I say that aproves what you say.

I may understand it wrong, but test new perks is survivor main mentallity?

Testing perks is not survivor or killer mentality. You literally said, and I quote,”The issue I have is that is that I tried to make killers mains see survivors can...” We are PLAYERS. This isn’t a faction war you know, plenty of people play both sides and if you main something, it doesn’t mean you’re opposed to anything on the other side via bias.

I did not at any point address players in my argument. I pointed out the incredibly strong advantage over killers that survivors can have every match and don’t actually need to work for. It’s a self training perk. Decisive strike you had to hit a skill check, this? It’s just on and you get the speed boost from the hit and everything.

This is especially horrible in the hands of a bully team, this perk has been, and will continue to be, abused by anyone that likes to loop. Great, there’s a perk now that actually encourages LOOPING. Do you not see that? Do you not see that the dynamic of the game has been shattered by something that directly tinkers with the amount of effort that one side has to provide over the other?

The killer has to find a way to compensate for the lost time of that chase, and now the chase taking even LONGER because of a portable easily achievable invincibility frame that can be used in every game.

I promise you the moment you run into more than one person using it, you’re going to suffer beyond what’s fair.

  • @Angelicus23 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/408069#Comment_408069

    Done it for you

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/692/T29LYH80OTBB.png

Have you tested the perk in many ways? Because I did it with my friends so I can tell what I say.

Lol that’s a fact. A billy can’t tell who has it until they activate it. That’s not hypocrisy at ALL. All the survivor has to do is GET HIT to be rewarded with a second god mode phase. This means coordinated survivors can bait billy into normal hits through body blocking, and then absorb the chainsaw hit outright for a friend if they are struck with it when the perk is activated. Nice try though.

There’s no getting around that, it’s either you use the chainsaw all the time so they don’t get stacks, making your games unfairly one sided and boring. If metal of man could not absorb a chainsaw hit at any time from billy, then it would be fine, but it does absorb whatever attack they are struck with while the perk is active.

The only killer that this would actually not effect is nurse, because she doesn’t have to work as hard for her kills when it comes to looping and chasing as she’s all about closing the gap to get hits with her power. Her power is the only one in the game that needs to be used constantly during the match. Billy requires a lot of calculating and extremely quick reflexes. More so than any other killer.

It’s a dirty perk that is way too strong against killers especially poor Freddy and legion, who seriously struggle with downing survivors in their current state.

metal of man will almost always activate in a match because of the nature of the game, breaking chases is essential for killers if they can’t outplay a looper, so guess who benefits with alone time to heal AND a build up of a THIRD strike condition?

  • @Angelicus23 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/408067#Comment_408067

The issue I have is that is that I tried to make killers mains see survivors can have their own good perks and there shouldn't be any problem with that. At first I was angry with the DS nerf, but then recognised that devs know they make everything with a reason, and so the killer mains should see it.

There’s the killer mains vs survivor main divide and niche again.

  • Just like surveillance, insidious, spies from the shadows, mad grit, basement perks, hangman’s trick, etc etc. it’s gunna take time to find that sweet spot with such a vicious community that can never be pleased.

  • @Angelicus23 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/408025#Comment_408025

In the second pargraph you criticised what you wrote in your first paragraph. Also, it looks like you don't know how the perk works. It only charges by hits with the basic weapon, not the chainsaw, also if the survivor is not injured and you use the chainsaw, the perk won't activate.

No I didn’t at any point actually,

and here’s the thing, when more than one person is running it against a Billy, it DOES absorb the chainsaw if charged. There is absolutely not counter play, what do you suggest, he only uses the chainsaw? Great so everyone would escape because his 50/50 that he uses to catch survivors off guard to score hits is gone.

His is performance is entirely dependent on addons vs this perk. Btw, thats not balanced.

    I support this joke buff!

Maybe it could be the add-on to replace her Iridescent Heads, since (according to McClean) they're going the way of the dinosaur sooner rather than later.

There's even potentially a canon reason; she took tons of frag grenades from all those WW1 German Soldiers she killed.

Yeah I was thinking about the stick grenades. XD

Not gonna happen. Dbd developers want to kill solo survivors for good.

    I don’t think that’s true at all.

  • Using those two words in the same sentence usually summons the bloodhounds of this community.

  • Hope it’s nothing like a Rubix cube. Damn thing drove me to tears after weeks of trying to solve it and only getting one side done.

  • Oh trust me, doesn’t work on methodical or tactical killers. Just the whirlwind ones. Can’t tell you how many Claudette’s I’ve spooked by walking past, then slowly turning towards them to start the chase.

  • I just want them to remove the button mashing and I’ll plau survivor a lot again.

    Insanely fun?

How do you know it would be?

Would you not get a rush of excitement trying to figure out which Freddy is the real one that’s chasing you?

It also means that only a Freddy that’s good at not looking obvious is going to benefit from this rework, raising his skill ceiling substantially.

It would completely change the dynamic of the game and provide a much needed breath of fresh air and an element of unknown to keep long time players interested and provide a new level of depth to learn.

  • @TreemanXD how so? Explain and I will counter.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/407935#Comment_407935

Emmmmm... Have you seen the level of hipocresy between the two paragraphs you wrote?

There’s no hypocrisy in any of that. Mere fact, hillbilly’s power is directly nerfed by this perk, the only strength he has, is his chainsaw’s ability to down survivors instantly as a reward for a well calculated charge.

No offense, but unlike you, I argue from a game design standpoint of what would be fair for the person being affected negatively by a game mechanic or core function.

Lets ignore that im a legion main that wants him to be harder to play so he’s more respectable as a killer, making quite a few comments and posts suggesting penalties or slight changes to make him less annoying and reliant of feral frenzy, and more of a poison/debuff based killer.

I never had a problem with decisive strike, sure it’ll stun the killer, but the thing is at least you actually got the down, and there is counterplay to decisive. Whereas with metal of man, there is NO counterplay.

I’m not using any bias, I think DS being nerfed was competely unnecessary because it was only a mild annoyance to a killer and not a crutch that fights the killer.

Please explain to me how listing the consequences of a self training perk is showing bias.

  • Feral Frenzy. I think that’s it.

  • So you mean to tell me absorbing a hard to hit chainsaw strike is not OP? You realize that the billy is being punished for using his chainsaw right? If everyone runs this, Billy becomes an M1 killer. The second most powerful killer in the game getting kneecapped by the use of a single perk.

But, hey man you do you Mr.ArmchairDeveloper. It’s also quite distasteful that you’re still using the whole “killer main vs survivor main” mentality. This post won’t go anywhere productive if you put people in a niche or stereotype.

  • You know what my favorite part about toxicity in this game is? I play on Xbox, so that means reporting messages does something within 24 hours. :P

Not knocking BHVR’s community management team, I don’t play on PC, so I’ve never had to use it. I can’t say if it’s good or bad. But I still love them.

I’ve noticed the message toxicity steadily declining on Xbox as I’ve done this over the months. Now that’s a lot of damage.

  • Hey, let’s be optimistic, at least we’ve got purified water!

  • I think it’s the shrieks she makes when she gets stunned that make her adorable. She was all scary till you hear a female shriek like there’s a spider on her sleeve.

  • The fear mostly lies in the music that’s grown stale, there needs to be more tracks that play in game for both sides.

  • No, because killers are punished through a lower score for using mori’s. They’re intended for vendettas.

  • @powerbats said:

Agreed but I'd also like to see the ability to mute chase music like say when it's 1v1 and or dying state on ground. Perhaps have settings where it could auto rotate in set time increments to keep music fresh.

They would never do that for two reasons, one, it provides a significant advantage over players who choose to keep the soundtrack on. And two, there’s not enough ambient sound in the game to play without music. You’d just hear footsteps and breathing with dead silence since there’s no wind effects or crickets or anything.

  • Pig. That’s it.

  • Dead by Daylignt seems like one of those games that’s super fun to break.
