For the devs to see, A reassuring message.
Once again, there’s a lot of negativity here. Just like when legion was released, there was an uproar about how unfair he was, but people figured out how to play against him over time, and while some find him annoying, he’s ultimately been accepted by the community.
I think metal of man should be looked at, but I want to also reassure you that I and a fair amount of users understand how difficult it is to add, remove, or change anything in this game due to how closely tied everything is together. You do extensive testing with content long before it’s released, and it’s no secret that there will always be the factor of the unknown when these new features land in the hands of very skilled players who look to exploit whatever they can for an advantage.
As of now, It’s only a problem when more than one person runs it due to its progression conditions
People think they know what’s best for the game before they try to adapt and get used to it, so it becomes a natural and healthy part of the game, adding more situations with more counterplay to add variety to killer and survivor interaction.
while some changes were greatly received and others not so much, you’re still ultimately the people who went to school for game design and related subjects, and work on this game almost every day as a job.
You know better than anyone what the balance of the game should be, you’ve spent more time than anyone with Dead By Daylight and I’m truly heartbroken that a fairly large portion of the community is manipulative or “creatively expressive” of their opinions and just not very respectful of you or how much effort you’re putting in to try and make the game as enjoyable for everyone as possible.
You’ve got great people in your community educating less experienced and knowledgeable forum users in a constructive and polite way, and I think the best example of this is @Orion who has been one hell of a stabilizer and a very intelligent speaker in shutting down bias and intense ‘interaction’ here on the forums and has just been a great member of the community in general. He’s the guy everyone listens to when he posts. He’s the guy with knowledge and very dedicated to the forums. I personally believe he should be made a moderator at some point, and he’s been a great friend.
Your moderation team is great too especially recently with extinguishing the flames of fury on the forums, and things are getting better overall.
You’re still human beings, your game is underpriced and overachieving in the sense that it’s the first of its kind, a unique game and originality is rare these days. There’s no monthly subscription, no nothing, one time buy and the rest is free minus the licensed content, which is very affordable and fairly priced.
Theres a lot of people who forget this, and simply treat you very poorly, speaking low of you and your decisions, having no faith or regard for you and especially poor Mathieu. Whom is a lovable guy and very humble.
People make posts saying how terrible the game is and how they are leaving, but yet the game remains steady population wise on all platforms, and has survived major game releases repeatedly.
People who are afraid of the toxicity on the forums continuously buy cosmetics instead of earning them because they want to support you. I know quite a few people who do this very thing. They just don’t want to deal with how touchy the forums are in general, and that’s understandable given how strongly people feel about the game.
I just want you to know that whatever decisions you make regarding the game, most of the population, which doesn’t use the forums, and unfortunately as a result you don’t see, will get behind your decisions with an open mind and attempt to adapt to the changes. There’s been a lot of new accounts lately as more and more people join the forums and contribute to the discussion. The community is growing, very slowly, but surely.
Keep your heads held high. Most of us recognize how considerate you all are with things like the game’s price, new killers and survivors being earnable with licensed content being only five bucks a character, or 10 bucks a pack, cosmetics don’t cost an absurd amount of money, maps are free, no micro transactions tied to progression, no lootboxes, no BS. Good old fashioned video games and the way they’re meant to be.
You’re passion creationists and that’s a breed of developer harder to find than my love life, you guys are great and I know people would be absolutely devastated if DBD ceased development right now and the servers shut down altogether.
A lot of people act like they don’t care, but they really do. They always come back trying to make a fuss because that’s who they are, their feedback is important too, but people make you out to be the bad guys and it just disgusts me that no one considers how it would feel to be in your shoes before they slander BHVR with their “constructive” criticism which often includes uncalled for cynicism and even insults.
But there’s just as many, if not more people here who are the opposite, and are more considerate with their feedback and manners. Stay positive, you’ve got a lot of loyal fans and that loyalty is so strong that people can be very edgy sometimes, but it’s a sense of attachment and community I don’t get anywhere else in gaming now.

@Orion sorry for tagging you, no worries not calling you out to argue or something. I know you deal with that A LOT. Or you did at least until everyone began listening to you. This is a positive post for once so just giving you props.
