I mean, this could be whole new content feature.
This is kinda a thing in Dota, where you unlock voice lines of heroes, or general chat wheel, where you can get famous quotes from tournaments etc.
And in settings you could simply select let's say 8 options you want to be able use.
My favorites that would work here:
Well, that went bad quickly.
On your belly and crawl.
Perhaps that wasn't wise.
Try not to feed.
Why doesn't anybody like me?
Back to Hell with you.

you dont always know if the map has a broken 3-gen if you dont spawn near it. you dont know if the killer is chasing someone outside of that 3 gen unless you play swf. you dont know if the killer wants to play around the 3 gen. if you do want to contest the 3 gen early but your teammates wont, the killer can just rotate back after a chase.
You know what maps have strong 3-gen and where it spawns. So just check it.
Noone really try to bring killer to that back gen on saloon during chase. So if killer is chasing someone, they are not there.

They wouldn't queue up for ranked if that were their goal, especially in a potential higher rank
Really?
So will I rather go with 3 other players, that will do random things and we die on 5 gens, or go ranked and hope they will carry me.

No, we most likely won't.

I disagree.
right now those perks still work. They are less effective but they still allow to win matches.
The fact that they nerfed DH and CoH is what broke the stalemate.
Less effective is far from what they are.
They are garbage.
But 3-gen is something I have done before those perks even exist. You don't need them.
It's good if you have killer who is good at holding 3-gen. Basically:
Skull merchant, Knight, Hag, Trapper, Legion.
Of course mobility killers can do it too, but reason they don't do it is because they don't need to.
I am not sure what survivors want tho. When you are running low on gens, best way to win is either tunneling or 3-gen. I am not sure what they hate more...

Her update to make her stuff "feel more useful in a chase" did nothing. She's the most aggravating killer to play around with. In general just in my opinion walking killers in this game with no teleport are no fun whatsoever, unless you just feel like holding down w going in circles
I prefer M1 killers, rather than Nurse, Wesker, Blight, or Spirit.
Those 4 have easier games, but I have to focus way more to use their power.
Your issue seems more like you simply don't like this type of killer. Killer can't be designed for everyone. Just keep playing whatever killer you like and chill.

I definitely get that teammate skill will vary. What shouldn't vary in a PVP game is teammate's objectives without the ability to mitigate it. I don't think it's good for the game to have two players who want to be fairly optimal, one player who is only there to cleanse dull totems for a Rift challenge, and one player who just wants to loot chests. That sets up an unnecessary point of conflict.
Well, they can't really control how player is going to play.
You can have decent survivor, who just got stupid challenge, so he is going to throw the game just to complete it.

Agree, it's why they should rework the killers that camp generators as their playstyles. At least with The Hag it's more counterable than it is with Knight and SM
Problem is survivors didn't like multiple antiloop killers neither.
So they wanted to try something different.
And any movement killer will be simply worse Blight.
-
Well, that's an issue of random players...
I don't think strongest part about SWF is talking, but an ability to choose your teammates and basically ignore match making.
There is an option for PC players, turning off crossplay.

Although i agree with you, and can say most killers wont camp 3 gen from the start, this is the issue with Skull Merchant and in some cases The Knight. They can hunker down an area from the start and refuse to leave quite easily, it's a viable strat for an easy win even though it's boring. So even though it is kinda rare, it certainly does happen. It's not the survivor's fault in this case and there really is nothing they can do about it, but I will agree that in general, most cases of 3 gen are the survivor's mistake.
Don't take me wrong, I have done it. Depends on maps. I usually play Azarov's Resting Place in a way that I pick one half of the map and never leave, but that map just sucks.
But I don't think it's that often, most of the times, it's because survivors didn't even try, then complain about 3-gen.
You have killers that are build around defending, but can you really blame them for doing this? If they play it like normal killer, they are going to lose most of their games.
Hag, Trapper, Skull Merchant are designed in a way to defend some area. If they don't do it, they are way worse.
Knight and Legion can do it too, but they also can get away with different playstyles.

I don't see tunneling as an issue and I play mainly survivor soloq. I see it as a strategy and nothing more. I take issue with the face campers and gen campers.
Well, both are boring to play against, so understandable.
Tunneling is still a chasing at least...
-
@VaporLion said:
Its so stupid when people say that its survivors job to make sure they dont 3-gen. The Killer can just camp the 3-gen area and bring hooks near them. So you cant really counterplay that against a Killer that wants to abuse it.
Show me gameplay where killer won't commit to any chase outside his 3-gen from start of the game. Because if he did commit to chase, you could have finish it.
But if you wait till there are 2-3 gens left, of course he will start to defend it.
You realize an alternative option for him to win is tunnel someone out, right? But then survivors will complain too.
If I won't manage to have good first chase and find myself on 3 gens left with 1 hook, most killers can either tunnel, or hold 3-gen.
There was an alternative with end-game builds, but that was nerfed and almost noone is using it now.
-
That's why that gen in back is always first gen I finish...
Survivors should always try to break 3-gen from start. Not do whatever gen they see and then complain about 3-gen.

Queue times have been pretty even right now. I find survivor matches almost instantly as well.
You are right, tunneling and camping are some of the most effective strategies in the game, maybe even the only two. But I disagree that they are much better than any other strategy. Spreading pressure and going for chases, as long as you know how to apply enough pressure, can still be very effective too, and have not been nerfed as much as you seem to think, in my opinion. These strategies are just generally much more challenging, requiring more skill. That's why many killers like to resort to tunneling and camping, they just take so much less skill.
The healing changes however, in my opinion, were even more impactful than the regression nerfs, as killers still have some decent slowdown perks, just not as good as the three regression perks that got nerfed. But again, the healing changes more than make up for it in my experience.
Nerfing tunneling and camping into the ground without giving killers compensation would surely increase survivor queue times too much. We need both nerfs to camping and tunneling, and then either more, proper balance changes to maps, or some form of early game slowdown.
However, I do think that right now, after this patch, survivors will need at least a bit of help again. Something as easy as increasing the hook phase duration from 60 to 70 seconds, or maybe some further information buffs to solo survivors, maybe one that makes it easier for them to find other survivors to heal up.
I am 100% fine with increasing hook timer, it will not help that much, because let's be honest. Most of the time you die in hook is because noone goes to save you in soloQ and stay on gens instead. (or chest)
Even if killer is proxy camping, they can do 1 for 1. Extra 10 seconds won't save it, but at least camping as strategy will be less effective.
That's why I often suggest survivor aura reading from Kindred as basekit, that would be huge buff, but it wouldn't matter that much to SWF.
I can see why camping is so bad, because you have to wait to die, which is boring.
I don't mind tunneling so much. as SoloQ I get to have chase, die, next game. As SWF, we can usually handle it to some extent and still get some players out. Depends on killer of course.
I love to play with strategy of spreading hits, but CoH made it way worse. It is kinda viable again since this patch, but there is not that many killers that can use it well. You basically need mobility or stealth to use it properly, that's why Wraith is one of best killers for this strategy.

No it can be nerfed or buffed just not gutted. It was intended to heal yourself and others within a radius. So make the radius smaller. The thing is in soloq I have been in matches where the killer used the boon as hunting ground. I even had one wait for me to bless it, then snuff it, knock me down, and leave me there (they continued to that until we all eventually bled out) . I understand how overused it could have been in swf I get it, but in soloq is needed. No one wants to heal you in soloq, I am trying different things but soloq has dramatically changed in 3 months and the killers are just bad. At one point teamwork was plausible now it's everyone for himself and that's the way it is because more than half the camper killers you go up against and by the time you get a decent killer your already angry.
I also feel about this with all perks killer and survivor. If they put something out there you purchase then they have to stick to the core ideals of it and not gut it. Fair is fair.
I think this goes to show they don't actually have testers to see what goes on in their games for themselves.
CoH is nowhere near from gutted...
And soloQ is simply not something you should balance around, that would be shitshow.
That's same if I would say let's balance all killers around Pig, or Trapper. While ignoring Nurse and Blight even exist. They will destroy other side? Yeah, sucks to be them, but Trapper is viable, so that's enough.
That's simply not how it works.
We can talk about buffs for soloQ and try to make it SWF will not be affected by it. (mainly information buffs)
But soloQ simply shouldn't be some sort of gatekeeper for survivor nerfs.
-
Main issue is they are worse than two years ago at hiding totem.
Hey I have key object I need to hide, let's put it in middle of nothing next to some random tree...
That new autohaven has so bad totem spawns I wanted to cleanse them myself...

i remember rank based on grade and it definetly was better then it is now.
Really? That was super random.
Wasn't hard to be in red ranks and even as red rank you often got paired with purple or gold.
-
MMR used to strict, but results and feedback wasn't good.
Queue times were terrible on both sides.
You had top killer waiting over an hour just to get competitive team.
That's why they scaled to lower. It's still not as bad as based on rank(grade).
It's super random for killers tho, but there is not enough of them and survivors have to get someone.
-
Ok, I am usually hard against any new modes, because it would completely screw queue times, but this sounds fun.
It will never be implemented, because it would screw queue times.
But I would try it for sure, because this sounds really fun...
Your issue is simple, current ratio is 4:1 and there is already not enough killers.
For this, you would need 2:1. But I feel like it would get worse with more survivors.
Basically without chance, sadly. Sounds fun.
I would want them to implement steam workshop, so we can create this for custom lobby at least.
-
Map prevention doesn't affect queue times in any way.
It just makes overall experience better.
Killer prevention would make queue times slower for sure. Probably on both sides. That's not really desirable outcome.
-
What would be point of nerfing self healing, when you buff it again. On infinite healing perk...
-
That's your argument? Really?
So basically no perk, or killer can be nerfed. Because we paid for it. Only buffs, because we don't mind that of course.

So survivors will just hide to get this.
This would be weird & absolutely counterproductive decision. Wait 20 minutes to get system in game? Then this even bigger reason to go on the hunt since they not interested in touching generators, of course if they want to do that this might be bad... but take in cosideration - how much players would want waste time instead of actually of playing? Answer really not much, and if they do this - not a problem in my opinion.
If we apply anything to punish the Survivors - which already can't do generator because of killer whatever they do, isn't it this a legiamate reason to apply that to Killer for not doing what it supposed to anyway (killing) instead prolonging the stalemate?
3-gen is usually screw up from survivors. They are supposed to take care of this. Of course killer should have option to punish this.
Pointing out again - system primary target to break stalemates. It will not touch case where "accediently" survivors make by own hand 3-gen lock. Killer already having his bonus when this situation occurs, easier crowd control & opportunity to have more hook points. Also bad survivors won't survive the 20 minute mark imo.
Merchant sucks at chase and is good at defending. Hag, Trapper, Knight, Legion can do it too.
You make me sad. Then how Legion is good at chases? Can you explain me this? He even at worser position than Merchant with her turned off Red Light under the drone, which survivors love.
Knight, i'm don't feel you contributed enough time to him, maybe against experienced survivor he has bad time which rotate chase spots, i'm genuinely think he does not need this strategy to do well.
Hag & Trapper share the same approach, yes they are the most attached to this strategy - but at their disposal Window & Pallet shutdown, do you really think they cannot do well? If they don't use their abilities then they just showcase how dumb players control them, that's it.
Like if you want to complain about 3-gen, don't you dare to cry about tunneling.
Not complain here, just noticed how often this happens - and just tired how players can be spineless, to play for 4 kills with least amount of hook points. The best performance is how much killer done hooks in the game & and eventually kills.
Wanna hear what i'm think about tunneling? Wrong door, i'm don't using crutch "Off the Record" or "Decisive Strike" for very long time. Using them if i'm really-really need to survive the match, but usually i'm doing well. Also i'm don't use Exhaustion perks. Total my playtime above 1500, and total experience i'm would say about 2500 to 3000 hours due digested gameplays of other players.
Massive tunneling is result of nerfing slowdown perks and alternative strategies. And you want to do it even more.
Still doing 12 hooks & 4 kills with mediocre, non-meta stuff, without special strategies. Thanks. Of course if i'm dealing with Full Stack SWF squad - i'm would be much less successful potentially, but not gonna leave them unscratched.
It's not that hard to play against 3-gen after perks were nerfed.
For now. I'm sure developers gonna add new changes in future, and we will see again return of 3-genlock meta. My suggestion aim to destroy the treadmill for developers. If you ask them - every developer hate return to anything which they fixed once.
how much players would want waste time instead of actually of playing?
survivors want to escape, they don't like wasting time only if they lose. I had many games where last two survivors just went hide, hoping I will find second survivor. My record is close to 30 min, of only hiding. I have let them bleed out for it tho. It's about message.
Sure, we can go with your system. But let's change crow system that it apply if survivor didn't do any objective action for 5 minutes. If you get it, you can't lose it. Then they can't hide and are forced to play the game, otherwise their location will be shown to the killer.
You make me sad. Then how Legion is good at chases?
He is not, those killers are good at controling the game. All of them have quite strong 3-gen. That's the point.
Total my playtime above 1500, and total experience i'm would say about 2500 to 3000 hours due digested gameplays of other players.
So what? I have same time. Digested probably more, because it was only thing I have been doing past two years, before I got back few months ago. You won't get to flex with hours on me.
Still doing 12 hooks & 4 kills with mediocre, non-meta stuff, without special strategies.
of course you do.
For now. I'm sure developers gonna add new changes in future, and we will see again return of 3-genlock meta.
So you agree it was already nerfed, but want to nerf it more, even tho it's kinda only playstyle several killers have. Because you are scared it may become meta again. Maybe they should simply test their perks / killers?
every developer hate return to anything which they fixed once.
Yeah, we also don't like to fix what is not broken.

How does she suck at chase, anyone who has been playing killer for a long time do great with her. Shes super easy, she auto exposes people, even if you hack its just like HEY LOOK AT ME, and then you have to waste a pallet or just assume she is coming. Shes just so annoying and not fun to play against at all. CD on drones way too high, size of drone area way too big, number of drones should always be at least 1 less than number of unfinished gens.
So what you get exposed?
You can simply run from loop she used dron at and when you are injured she is Legion, basically without power. Oh no, I am exposed. Oh wait, I was one hit already...
Then she has dron at loop noone cares about instead of gen.
Is it really that hard to have good chase against M1 killer?

You have no idea. I have to work on 3 gens instead of 1 (and so there's huge time waste when moving around the map) because those 2 zombies always know when somebody is working on a gen and are just attracted to it.
Just because you don't see the zombies or the fact they get hit very rarely, it doesn't mean they are worthless. The amount of information and slowdown is very valuable. It's like saying pinhead's box is useless, because you can't get survivors to forget about it so that it chain hunts them during chase for easy downs. Same thing applies - survivors just have to run for the box and hide a little and solve it wasting a lot of time...
That's why I didn't say 100%.
Fact is you can't rely on it. This rework would make her so boring. I wouldn't think you could make her more boring than she is.
Yay, something I can't control and another antiloop power. Basically new Nemesis.

About alf - you are not realy right. He was streamsnipped a few times by comp players. He made YT videos about it. A few times he was close to actually loosing the streak, but he always just won it again. Also... Most recently nurse got a huge buff in highest tiers - there is no longer any counterplay against her if you take flashlights - making her total beast again
Flashlight nerf isn't that big buff. It was hard to pull off. Most survivors have never done it in their life.
Removal of exposed builds and range add-ons is bigger deal imo.
I wouldn't nerf her more atm. Again, don't want to see next Billy from her.
We could talk about some minor duration nerfs, but nothing big.

What I proposed would slow the game at the start, but speed it up as it progresses. If you want to avoid slugging, then add a timer to the gen speed changes. Or make a weak UB base-kit. Or increase gen speeds according to the dying state timer the same way hook states would. There are simple things to address all these theoretical nuanced points.
The whole point of my post is to propose a simple solution to address tunnelling + other issues in the game, while still maintaining balance. If you have better solutions I encourage you to offer them... These issues are easy to fix and I think it's universally agreed upon that it's important for game health.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3406463#Comment_3406463
I like this idea. When DS was a useful perk, tunnelling was a lot less common. This could shift the game back to something that feels more fair. But killers might need a buff depending on how many players this would affect (I would guess a lot just based on my games).
See how fast you gave up on balancing and simply making it really survivor sided change?
So killers will get little boost to gen speed for each single hooked survivor, while survivors get buff for each player on deadhook, or dead. Don't even even need to be dead and also basekit UB.
It would also promote selfish playing on survivor side. "Yeah, he didn't work on gen, just let him die on hook so we do gens faster." So again buff more for SWF, then soloQ.
Dying should not be rewarded. It's supposed to be something survivors try to avoid.

Lots of good points. Lives pool just makes survivors ignore killed people and rush objectives, afterall theres X lives left. ( happened in Deathgarden too)
Personally i cant wrap my head around the "cant buff weak killer because good killer exists" narrative. It's funny that killers get refered to as a singular character and solo/swf as seperate.
Buffs to survivor will affects survivors n all team dizes.
Tweaking pigs eye-height in couch will... affect only pig.
You can buff specific killer. Like trapper has extra trap.
But if you give overall killer buff like basekit corrupt or something, it will have often has stronger effect on already strong killers. See that issue?
Nurse have already did it few times, where perks were nerfed because of her. She was also on of killers that break auto Morri system.
Buffs and nerfs to survivors affect all team sizes. Yeah and that's kinda an issue. I wouldn't nerf SWF, because I consider it unfair and bad idea for future development of the game.
Kinda only thing you can do to survivors is making basekit information changes, things that are easy to do over voice communication. Action icons did that for example.
But basekit OTR etc. won't help soloQ that much, but will buff SWF way more.
Those gaps in each side are main issue for balancing and you simply have to think about it with any balancing idea.

The game might also die if it stays stale for too long and the only new content is perks that no one cares about and new killers that are more and more just variations of existing killers.
new game mode can draw in new players and players that left, which can also pick up the existing mode (again). If the existing mode is so bad that people are leaving that because a new game mode is better … why would those people not leave the game completely to begin with?
You know people are still playing Team Fortress, or Left 4 Dead? Counter-Strike too.
Exactly same game for many years. No changes. None at all.
If you make main game good enough, you don't care about lack of changes.
I will rather have them trying to make main mode better than trying some random things with alternative modes.

No it’s not the end game tunneling. Obviously that would happen 1v1… yes through the game tunneling sucks ass.. but a Med kit to heal an injured survivor is a good emergency to aid in survival to take too hits instead the opportunity of one in down. If the player was injured without a chance to heal before being left standing.
If you want to be helpful to others fast, you can play For the people. I enjoy playing with that perk.
I also love using We'll make it. If you care about others there is plenty of good perks.
End game is not 1v1 that means simply means 1/0 gens.
Most killers start going for kill on 2-3 gens, which is understandable imo. I didn't really get from start of the game tunnel that often, but maybe I am just lucky.
I don't mind tunneling, because I don't care if I die. I just want to have decent chase and get some other players to escape. Well, Jeff main...

I have played Killer and Survivor & I succeed at both. Admittedly I enjoy survivor more because of the adrenaline rush. But idc “if you take me seriously” yeah I dislike the Skull Merchant as a character and I think her drone should be nerfed. Thirdly, I play solo & w/friends, no matter what I’m a team player. But the nerf all around of healing is a major slap. I understand making the sides even bc stack up healing can be a pain in the ass to a killer. So yeah some of the nerf fine the Boon I understand to a limit but they regressed survivor healing on it’s own without a boon, but I stand by the fact the Med Kits shouldn’t have been touched because even a purple Med kit isn’t that useful in a match. Dead Hard is what it is bc I never used it. But I always carried a Med kit for the end game especially if I was the last one standing.
Skull merchant is not strong killer. She needs rework, not nerf.
Heal wasn't nerfed. Altruistic healing is exactly same. Actually better now.
Only self-heal was nerfed and that is good change, because it didn't make sense for it to be stronger than altruistic.
They also basically removed strongest 3-gen build, which is really good for the game too. It is not one sided.
Do you really complain about tunneling in end game, where it is only chance how killer can win? You just want free escape.
I can understand why players might not like tunneling from start and I mean like 4-5 hooks total kill, but during end game? Whatever.

I have to agree as SoloQ survivor this healing nerf was really bad I used run COH to counter out Franklins if I had a med-kit that was my whole purpose. Not to mention all tunneling that happens especially if it’s endgame and no DS , DH or OTF to counter . They gave this game to the killers too much for me.
Killers got nerfed quite a lot. Well, their perks did.
I am more than happy to give up self heal for weaker 3-gen. It wasn't fun.
Try using detective's hunch with inner healing, or resurgence with medkit / self-heal.

I admire killers that are able to handily win without tunnelling. Those killers usually control chases in a way that they can apply gen pressure (to the right gens) concurrently. It involves thinking the game at a really high level and it's impressive to see. It's complementary to an experienced and well coordinated survivor team.
But, as a killer, it's harder to win that way compared to tunnelling. Tunnelling killers I face are often not so experienced in chases / virtually apply no gen pressure, yet still get 4k's often.
I think what I proposed is still a better alternative to the current state of the game, even if slugging is still a thing. At least in that case, teammates can pick me up, and the killer needs to chase everyone - not just one person. If killers need another buff to make it work, that's fine. I just want a mechanic to remove the worst part of this game.
I agree about the balancing killers + solo queue vs. swf part.
Have you played against Forever Freddy? It's long time ago. It wasn't fun, at all. He was nerfed to oblivion because of it.
Your change would make it worse on every killer. I wouldn't even need to get 4k, just try to hook everyone asap, to get maximum slowdown, then simply slug and defend 3-gen.
You think skull merchant was bad? This would be way worse and every killer could do it.
Your change with Thana would be lovely. Have fun on gens.
Their aim is to make games faster if you didn't notice. This would do opposite.

Swf could also use some looking into. I don't really know how you could nerf swf besides adding a debuff to gen progression depending on how big the swf is, but yeah if they could figure something out for swf it should get a nerf.
You can't really punish players for playing with friends. You kinda need them to keep game alive.
SupaAlf is tournament level player, going against random survivors. Are you really surprised he is destroying them?
Nurse got nerfed. She is still best killer, but removing range add-ons and changing to special attack were good changes.
She is one of hardest killers. I wouldn't want her to get into Billy state, where your effort is basically not worth it.
Why knight tho? He is not really that strong imo. So what he can down you with his power? I mean, that's what killer's power is for.
Skull merchant can't chase, she is designed to be defending killer. It was bad idea to release her after knight, who had same playstyle. But that is result of survivors complaining about antiloop killers...

I loved DBD. But honestly this new update is upsetting. Healing Boon nerfed self heal. Med kits were seriously nerfed. And healing in general was serious regressed. This game just isn’t worth playing anymore. Killers have way more power than survivors and basically made it impossible to survive. I understand if the boom was nerfed with healing speed. But honestly the Med kits shouldn’t have been touched. And if they are gonna Nerf the best survivor perks then the Skull Merchant should be seriously nerfed , she has way to much power with her 4 drones.
Really? Skull merchant is your take?
How am I supposed to take this seriously now?
Medkits were supposed to be left alone? Medkits were bigger deal than CoH. It was dumb to heal under 10 seconds. It also didn't make sense to have self-healing more effective than altruistic healing.
This patch was good start, now we can actually talk about some soloQ buffs based on results.
When you see feedback from DH, CoH, Medkits nerfs. Seems like they were supposed to be nerfed. No perks / item should be that important.
SWF don't care, they are mostly same. SoloQ suffer from those nerfs.
But now we can actually talk about some buffs focusing on improving soloQ experience.
Icons were good start imo, I love those. But we clearly need to add some more, which is possible now.

Yeah the hook state idea here is nice!
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3405444#Comment_3405444
Isn't there a plan to make UB base-kit? I don't think slugging won't really be a valid strategy anymore in that case. Killers could still tunnel and get 1-2 kills, it would just be harder to get a 4k by tunnelling.
As a survivor, sure, you could try to take hits / try to get tunneled, but firstly, I doubt survivors would want to get tunnelled, and secondly, that would be 2 survivors interacting with the killer instead of doing gens - not the most efficient way of playing the game, but hard to say - maybe it could be an issue.
That said, ideas to address tunneling different from the one I proposed are welcome!
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3405457#Comment_3405457
This is a pretty cool idea too. I can still see as killer tunnelling the weakest survivor + as survivor having a poor teammate use up all the 'team' hook states (which would be frustrating). Would still be a nice improvement.
Honestly - I'm on board for any ideas that get rid of tunnelling. And there are lots of ways to do it! Addressing DS would be nice too. People ran it for a reason (even after the first nerf). I remember spending extra money just to get it because tunnelling was so upsetting.
Thanks everyone for replying! It's nice to see that pretty much everyone agrees that some changes should be made to address tunnelling.
Shared pool of hooks is terrible idea.
It's buff for SWF, sucks for soloQ. Do you really want one troll waste your hook states? I don't.
Unbreakable basekit went to hell. It was just attempt, but it didn't go well. They tried it along auto Mori system to balance it. Both were bad with mostly negative feedback.
Your issue is that you can't really straight nerf tunneling without buffing different aspects for killers.
Thing is: what alternative strategies do survivors enjoy?
3-gen? Nope
Camping? Super nope
Slugging? Super nope
End-game build? Nope
Tunneling? Nope
Hit&run (Legion)? Nope
Stacking slowdown? Nope
All those were nerfed, except tunneling. That's why you see it used that much.
Well, hit&run was buffed with this patch, but that's killer specific playstyle. It was almost unplayable for long time, because of CoH.
Only acceptable way for them is basically going for 12 hooks, but there is no way to balance around that. It's not possible. There was time when lot of killer did it and it was during BBQ, Ruin, Pop builds. It actually encouraged killers to leave hook.
All three were nerfed. There is simply not reason to go for different survivors, if you want to win.
Issue is that it's so hard to change killers overall when you have Nurse/Blight/Spirit on one end and Trapper/Pig/Myers on other.
It's also hard to change survivors when you have SWF on one end and soloQ on other.
-
Well, she sucks at chase.
Only thing she is good at is defending either totems or gens.
It was simply bad idea to release her right after knight, who is similar.
But survivors were complaining that every killer has anti loop and hold W is boring. Well, here you go.

I wouldn't go as far. She most certainly has counterplay - it mostly consists of predropping+make her guess 50/50 and macro play. She can be played around - so long as she does not use MDR+amulet that is...
Sure, she has counterplay since her nerf, but Iron will is also not a thing anymore, so it's almost impossible to double back while injured, unless you are Ace.
I think author just keeps playing her wrong and use all her power all the time, but that's just bad.
I don't think she needs any changes. I don't mind playing against her and she is kinda fun to play as.

Hm. Sure it’s different. But then again, it’s also just a videogame, and people are asking for something refreshing which a new killer just doesn’t bring. We both don’t know how a new game mode would influence things, but it should obviously be designed to not overshadow either side of the current game roles while bringing something completely new.
You realize this is something that could actually kill the game?
They can't afford splitting player base of either side, that would be really bad.
This game doesn't have that many players and you need specific ratio, which makes it way worse.
It's nowhere near close to classic games.
There is no need for new mode. This is the mode they should work on and improve. That's the game people started to play and keep coming back.
If you want something else, just play different game. There is no need to fit everything in one game.
They have more than enough trouble with one mode.

If players are leaving anyways queue times won’t get better either, do they?
also, plenty of games do just fine with different game modes. Might even draw in players that left and new players altogether.
new killer? We get these every three month already, it’s at a point were they don’t feel that refreshing anymore and people will complain about any new killer anyways.
And how many of those games are asymmetrical?
It's fine if you need equal amount of players on each side, so there is one queue for all.
DBD is different.

Author keeps spamming that everyone doing well with Spirit is low MMR.
Then doesn't know how her add-ons work.
-
@FeryGEN said:
I am a Main Spirit, so I will say that I agree to some extent with the author. She should add a little mobility, because she simply does not have time to defend something. I would advise you to do this, taking into account her add-ons: When a charge of strength is spent completely, the charge is replenished 30% faster, if it is not full, at normal speed.
In the spirit game lately, I have to take addons to quickly restore her ability. I think this is due to the large number of outgoing maps of huge size.
She has good add-ons. She is currently like third best killer in the game.
Any change in basekit would mean butchering her add-ons. You really want that?
I would rather they don't touch her.
Wasting your whole power should not be rewarded. It doesn't make sense.

I don't have her. But I had no problems playing Bubba or Doctor (both went perfectly well). Do you consider them something else then M1 killer?
Bubba? M1 killer? Really?
Doc is M1 killer tho, but he is kinda noob stomper. Same like Pinhead

There are many older versions of dbd, you have to be more specific.
Where he had things to abuse. Oh wait, still lot of versions...

But you are not a developer for DbD and many people in the community are asking for a new game mode to make this game feel more refreshing.
and… the game isn’t even as bad as people make it out. It is being fairly successful and any competitors in the same genre were even more unbalanced and/or failed due to other reasons.
Oh right, new mode, because queue times are irrelevant now...
Why waste months of work on something to be forgotten in two weeks?
Rather make proper killer, not another merchant.
