I would definitely like to see second idea.
It would help M1 killers, while top killers wouldn't really change, because all three use their power to travel across the map.
First change is hard to tell, probably fine, but it would need to be tested on PTB more.
The fact it drops once chase starts would fix most issues. It would definitely buff trap and stealth killers, but it wouldn't be issue for most of them. Maybe Hag, but she just got nerfed lately, so probably fine too.
-
There are definitely killers that need it more... Those 3 are fine.
-
You really use your whole build, so killer can't hook you, then complain when he doesn't?
And who the hell is using iron grasp....
Not an issue

What should i say. Some people are simply bad losers and love to search faults on others instead of analyzing the match and trying to get better. It's on both sites the same more or less. When some killers do lose, it was mostly gen rush but that there was no gen pressure at all and no attempt to defense gens they don't see most of the time. They don't even wanna try to understand what was the real reason in most cases.
True, I still think otz's streaks did it.
Lot of killers have mentality that 1 escape is lost and whenever gens are finished they give up.
Devs want 60% win rate, which is fair imo. But that results in both sides thinking it's other sided.
You will have some killers mostly losing and some survivors mostly losing. Those will go complain to make game easier for them...

Okay, i may be too rushed here. Tho im trying to keep my personal statistics and most of my games are 2-3 kills, some of 0-1 kills are because i let them go for various reasons.
I play Wraith/Nurse/Pinhead/Pyramidhead/Onryo/Dredge/Trapper/Nemesis so lot of things.
Tho if i think about it now, i may be unreliable since if i let them go, then my MMR is lower than it should.
Yeah, I was doing that on Pig.
Basically always let two survivors who Boop my Snoot leave, so I don't have to deal with better squads and can just chill with Piggy.
I wouldn't say pig is too good, I just play with worse survivors on purpose.
I have killer, where I try to kill as many as I can: Oni.
Simply depends on mood.
Kill rate is not really valid when you regulate it.
-
Since when soloQ is standard for balancing killers?
We would have to nerf lot of killers with this....
Skull merchant is not impossible to beat. Far from that.
Of course it's easier for SWF. We usually just stay injured. Then her power has only information value and you play this same like Plague, or Legion.
You complain she is too good in chase? Well, then their buffs did something.
You want to nerf her, so she becomes 3-gen only killer again? It's so fun to play against, right?
No, you would just nerf that too and ignore the killer... Yay, balanced

idk. I start playing unfair if there is too many flashlight saves, or other things that prevent me from hooks. In every other cases im doing 8 hooks before killing, and my kill rate is around 2.5, which is "win" according to bhvr.
How do you know it's 2.5? Sounds too specific.
And what killers you play? I can play this way with few killers, where I basically have better options who to chase.
I love hit&run with wraith and legion. With those, I can get this regularly. Still have pressure while choosing who to down.
But if I play Pig, or normal M1 killers, it's more like I see you, I chase you.
-
Sure, that perk is just bad.
At point where it's valid slowdown, everyone is dead...
There are way better anti healing perks than this.

If you have to slug to win then I assume you're just not that good at killer.
Lol, using strategy to build pressure: not good killer
So I guess I should just go tunnel from first hook to get better, as you wish.
-
@SeaFlower said:
If everyone is downed, the game should sacrifice them and end the game. That would fix situations like this.
It was tested as automatic Mori system on PTB.
Didn't really end well tho. Killers basically had it like challenge to get it, so you would have way more slugging than you do now.
Even with 45 sec basekit unbreakable, I am not sure people would enjoy playing against it.

I've seen plenty of plagues not slug to be effective. In fact I see pretty much every killer being effective without slugging.
It's less effective. Of course, if you don't know about any survivor nearby, there is no point in slugging.
But mainly those four, if you down survivor and know about another survivor nearby, you better slug and go for them while you have your power.
That's why Infectious Fright is so good on them.
It's not so bad on Oni, he keeps his power, but still if you can go for another down, you better do it. But Myers and Plague would be wasting their power.
Twins have that awfull duration after down, where you can't swap. So basically, it's way more effective to slug and try to get another hit with Victor.

No matter how you play as a killer survivors will complain.
I had a game as Trapper that survivors were saying I was bad for using my traps close to them
Just...dumb
Play how you want
3-gen it is. I was using 3-gen Legion build before CoB was a perk. It was with eruption tho.
I may be weird, but I enjoy playing skull merchant. Devour build is so evil on her...

You don't see slugging Survivors for 4 minutes on the ground to bleed out for no other reason than to BM an issue... but you see Survivors waiting at an exit gate (which btw, at MAXIMUM is also 4 minutes) an issue?
I understand that slugging can be used effectively and not to BM, but it is without a doubt unfun for the receiving end and in an ideal world it wouldn't be as necessary in certain scenarios
Also basekit Unbreakable wasnt that bad on the PTB a few months back, it was Unbreakable it self reducing the time it took to get up by half. 45 seconds is still a LONG time and is more than enough time to build pressure to start snowballing
Where did I say it's an issue?
I have used it to BM, some survivors deserve it. Both sides have things they can do to BM, you want to remove all of them?
If you run into zone where you know I can't hook you, I will let you bleed out.
Headon squads? Bleed out
Sabo squads? Bleed out
45 seconds is not really that much for Twins, Plague, Myers and Oni. Those basically have to slug to be effective.
That automatic Mori system wasn't that good for weaker killers, but few killers can do some decent speedruns, which I don't think would players like to play against.

ok...?
Still doesnt fix the issue????
I wouldn't call it an issue...
Slugging is great way for killer to build pressure, it's simple as that.
Like what, you wanna buff the hell out of survivors with basekit Unbreakable? Sure, but I don't want to see single complain about tunneling, which won't happen...

That sounds fine, but the chances of anything we have spoken about here being introduced are lower that winning the lottery so it doesn't really matter
Funny is quite lot of things I suggested got into the game.
It took them two years tho.
You always have to think about making fix simple.
This could work. Removing grabs for unhooking wouldn't be hard.
Prevention of killer ability under some restrictions is harder, but possible.
Kinda an issue is tunneling. Simply put, you can't nerf it without buffing different aspects for killers.
Most fixes I have seen can be either avoided or abused.
But face camping is possible to fix for sure.

I mean, if the power activates only when he is in chase near a hook then survivors will need to be sneaky and not get into chase. It might sound a bit clumsy but I don't know what other thing you are supposed to do against a facecamping bubba, and even other killers I don't think it will be a too harsh change because most killers that camp deserve it
You could make 10 seconds delay, before it activates.
Then you could use it for all killers.
Proxy camping would still be a thing tho... But hey, it would fix face camping at least

Oh, my bad.
Didn't notice not in chase. That would be mostly fine. Still should be killer specific, not all M2.
Why would you prevent Wraith from going to stealth....
I would probably start with Bubba and Trickster. Those I consider best campers.
I would still remove grabs for unhooking.

Doubt it.
Haven't seen any positive feedback on it.
Neither for basekit Mori.
Basically made strong killers better, while hurting weaker killers.
I will gladly have contest if I can slug you faster than you pick up as Oni. Would be fun for sure.
But it would make slugging for M1 killers impossible and they won't really get use of Mori system.

It is not about the grabs, it is most about facecamping bubba's
Grabs let any killer do it.
And they are basically equivalent of DH counterplay. You need to bait it and hope killer won't grab you.
I don't think there is need for it in the game.
Bubba, sure. He may be one of killers that deserve it. But if you make range too big, survivors can abuse it and bring him towards hook so he can't insta down them.
Doesn't seem like healthy change....
If it is too small, he won't care and just wait at that distance.

in this situation, yeah I could agree with you, but I think most killers would say its the forcing your move that's annoying. in a deadzone you simply wait for the Dead Hard, but trying that on jungle gyms are a bit harder as you have to be certain. you can't wait for him to use it, you have to swing if they are going to a vault/pallet no matter if they do have it.
It's pretty simple.
Did DH have a counter? Mostly yes
Was it annoying to do? Yes
Is DH hard to use? No
Noone can convince me that DH was skillful perk.
It's like baiting killer to swing on window. It's not really hard once you know the pattern. That's all.
DH was still perk that could simply fix your mistake. Too greedy on pallet? Just DH.
Lost mind game and vaulted pallet? Just DH
You have situations where killer has to lunge, otherwise he wouldn't get hit anyway.
That perk basically disable killer's lunge attack. How is that not broken?
-
I have feeling this would be another thing useless for soloQ, but broken for SWF...
-
1) would waste too much time
2) most killers don't deserve it, just remove grabs.
3) they would have to basically rebalance the game. Could work as an experiment for PTB.
Nerf to self heal made the game kinda scarier. It's not that comfy to work on gen while injured.
Mainly against stealth killers tho.

I agree, Self-Care right now has been nerfed because of self healing... which self healing needed the nerf, but on the other hand it's still a perk. I took up a perk slot for this and it would be better to heal with a brown med-kit? I think Self-Care should heal you in 32 seconds.
Medkit = 1 use, 2 max
Self-care = game duration
32 seconds would be basically equal to altruistic healing.
So there was self-healing nerf, just to buff different self-healing perk? What's that logic.

I main Ghostface and I think Spine Chill should have been reverted by now. It's useless now. Looking to the side was counterplay
So many perks had counterplay, but were nerfed. Simply because it was annoying for other side.
NOED from killers is best example.
You had whole killer nerfed, because he was annoying to play against -> Deathslinger.
You have lot of players who say devs should think about casual players too. Well, this is the result.
Things are nerfed not because they are too strong, they are simply annoying or unfun, so they are nerfed into oblivion.

Yeah... but we are talking about the situation where those gens cannot be even reached, and killer do not commit to chases. Question is still unanswered - how to break this 3gen. If you can reach gen and do anything before killer came, then yes, sure. But what if You cant even touch the gen, or come near to it. This is the starting situation i replied about keeping game hostage. Not regular 3gen or even one that is on screenshot from first post. I understand it is very unlikely scenario and maybe even abstract, but its the situation i was repling.
Then it's issue of game RNG. But why should killer throw that game, because of weird RNG?
There is no way all three gens where blocked in a way where killer could simply body block everyone. I want screenshot of that. There was just strong 3-gen, killer saw it and decided to use it to win. Survivors didn't even try to get close.
I have had so many games where survivors abused loops where they could walk, but I couldn't. Should all of them got banned? No.
You report that as a map bug, not player.
-
@MarylinMonhoe said:
Agreed, they need to reduce the cooldown to maybe 40/30 seconds or add a condition (hooking someone) to activate it again
Condition hooking someone would make worse version of already existing perk. I wouldn't like that.
Cool down could be reduced for sure. I think even 60 would be enough to make it somewhat viable.
80 for it's effect is so long, but issue is that perk is kinda noob stomper type.
Good players will often manage to ignore it. It's pain if you already have skill check, then you get oppression. That's kinda impossible to get.
But it would be viable in some combinations, with surveillance for more information etc.
I think 30 sec would be too oppressive even for oppression... That would be super noob stomper. Mainly with doctor. I can see why they would be afraid of that. But 60 would be good middle ground imo.

@JawsIsTheNextKiller said:
Two heals is all you really need. There are perks and addons that can help you get more than a single heal out of a medkit. I know "just use x" arguments are the laziest of replies but killers have been using multiple perks to slow down the game for a while and I think now survivors might have to do the same for healing is kind of okay.
I've always found Bond to be the best thing to bring for healing. Just find someone working on a gen and teabag them furiously until they heal you.
I consider Bond autoinclude for soloQ.
Easy to find someone for healing and you make sure to not bring killer to your teammates during chase.
"Just use X" works, because before it was just use CoH.
-
•Is Spine Chill unfun to go against?
If you are stealth killer, yes. Counterplay was annoying to do for sure.
DS should have stayed 5 seconds.
Self-care on 32 seconds is basically on same level as altruistic healing. Infinite. With other perks way better.
Right now, self-care is not good alone, but can be viable if you have build for it
-
I would hate it, because people would start playing it again, but you can use it max twice perk game, right?
Why not simply remove exhaustion requirement. It could still give exhaustion as Adrenalin, but you could still use it even while already exhausted.
Then you could actually call it anti-tunnel perk.

@Bobitslapis said:
Before i start, this is my opinion, so if you dis/agree with some of my points, obviously feel free to share.
I, myself, Main The Pig.
I really enjoy the Saw movies and love the entire logic behind it. People aren't just killed for someones sick fun. They are being tested and punished for their misdeeds since most of the time, the Police nor the governemnt won't do anything about them.
So, when i started playing DBD in 2020, i went with Amanda Young, aka, The Pig. I have prestiged her up, have played through the entire Tome and her story and played through countless of matches.
And after all this, i must say that she has become the most frustrating Killer to play as for me and it just absoloutely breaks my heart.
Her power is basically asking you to camp the Jigsaw boxes and to tunnel and chase survivors, whetever they have an active bear trap or not. If you don't follow these standards, the survivors will have a easy win, since who pressures them and stops them from just healing or disabling their traps? That's right, no one.
I played through so many matches without following this ideology and even in most of my matches, i was left with No Kills and Less Points than i could have had imagined.
Once however you start to follow this path, a toxic kill or even 3 are basically already given to you, but as said, on the behalf of the survivors enjoyment.
To her crouching and Stealth, it seems to be absoloutely busted. Most people will see you immeadetly and the roar starting with your ambush attack isn't really helping to cover you up one bit. I tried doing the Fake-Direction Ambush, but once the survivors stands in the middle of the pallet, it's basically over.
And to her chase power, one pallet or window vault, basically sets you back so much that the survivor can build up a extreme distance between you and them. Which is obviously frustrating to experience and is usually followed by the next generator popping up.
Her power feels outdated. What once was Gold, has become Silver and is now Bronze.
To Fix her issues, i would start to decrease her awfully big Terror radius currently. (32 Meters, Stealth killers usually have around 24 Meters.)
Second, i would buff her crouching speed. She should be able to stand up and crouch down way faster than she currently does it, since it just eats time. I would also make her faster during her crouching, since if we look at Ghostface, he's basically faster than her in any way.
To The Ambush Attack, i would leave it as it is, with the tiny exception that the roar starts halfway of the Attack and not the start.
And to her main power: The Traps. I cannot think of anything currently. If any of you have any ideas, feel free to share.
#PleaseFixOurPiggy
Leave traps as it is,
just make crouch faster and increase movement speed. Then I don't care about TR.
Don't you dare to touch my roar. That's what I enjoy most on Piggy. This would be like Wraith without bell.
-
My best advice is to treat her as Legion.
We just don't heal. So what if you are exposed, it doesn't matter when you are injured.
But I agree her design is not good at this time at least. Release this, right after Knight. What could go wrong...
Let's hope anniversary will be something good.
-
Lose all his power on stun seems kinda brutal. You still need to play some loops as M1 killer, this would make average Blight really miserable.
I know Plague has this system, but corrupt puke is ranged and kinda broken (balanced overall).
I wouldn't change Blight basekit, focus only on broken add-ons. That would be fine imo.

For those complaining about DH and CoH being nerfed, here is a non-exhaustive list of perks that were nerfed on killer's side:
CoB, Overcharge, pain resonance, Eruption, Pop the weasel, BBQ and chili (no extra BP in exchange of a casual perk?) Hex ruin and much... much more! (Hill billy basekit nerf sold seperatly)
So no, nerfing those 2 survivor perks are not a big deal, you'll manage, just read other perks and spend some BPs and shards like every killer mains has to do EVERY patches.
How was billy nerfed? Didn't notice that. I thought it was buff on overheating.
And you forgot Corrupt

DH nerf was a significant buff to killers, DH should’ve had a progress bar you had to work towards to use DH i.e getting pallet stuns, blinding the killer, fast vaulting while being chased etc the options are vast. DH is a chase perk and fun for players who have experience playing the game to use. Being able to only use DH in its current state 2 times is horrendous. SB, Lithe, BL etc are situational and very boring perks to run. Survivor gameplay is becoming stale especially against the new hit and run sloppy playstyle and the 45 min long skull merchant matches cause tome challenges… I’m getting truly lost myself going down this meta shift path of boredom..
I love survivors.
Is there playstyle you don't hate? Except free escape style...
Endgame? Nope
Camping? Nope
3-gen? Nope
Hit&run? Nope
Tunneling? Nope
Stacking gen regression? Nope
Only acceptable way is to either lose or win with 12 hooks without top tier killer and stacking slowdown... Well, good luck with that.
DH was significant buff for killers?
CoB, overcharge, pain resonance nerfs were significant buffs for survivors.
Yay, balanced.

I would agree except that, under the pre-tense that Nurse and Blight were OP... the devs made the map bigger and added a bunch of pallets.
Everytimes M1 killers tried to adapt it got hard nerfed, they even destroyed Hill Billy.
Currently, Survivors have a pletora of viable exhaustion perks that makes them faster than an M1 killer to the point they get to hold W across the map ... there is still no room for them to complain.
What survivors call oppressive right now is their inability to do the "Bully squad with 4 flaslights and CoH" strat in which they could just party around the killer endlessly knowing full well that DH would provide an extra health state and SB effect if they screwed up...
So cry me a river.
Currently, what fuels all the camping and tunneling is precisely the fact that most killers can't afford a chase now that ALL methods of regressing gens have been nerfed into oblivion.
Never in the history of this game has an entire tool been dulled like that for any side.
Not all methods, but most for sure.
What I find viable:
Pentimento + Plaything
Jolt for M1 killers
Eruption + Nowhere to hide
Agitation + Pain resonance
Deadlock + No way Out
I have been trying pop again, but usually as kinda secondary slowdown with eruption or Jolt.
Most M1 killers are weak, depends on map. But I still play them anyway. It's more relaxing session for me.
I had time where I was spamming Blight and Wesker, but I have to focus so much to use their power properly and it's exhausting.
M1 is mainly muscle memory mind games and hope for the best. So what if I lose few games.
When I want to try hard, my go to is Oni. That's kinda hybrid M1 with chance for comeback at any point of the game with his power.
I think Otz kinda ruined most killers with his 50 streak rules, where it's loss when anyone escape. If you believe it, then it's really stressful to get on 0 gens.
If you play around 2 draw, 3 win. It's way better for your DBD experience.
-
@HeyItsQuiet said:
Players who took issue with the healing nerfs were met with "MAD CUZ BAD, JUST ADAPT, LOL DONT USE CRUTCH PERKS" and were accused of being entitled survivor mains.
So it sounds like killer mains just need to adapt to gen rushing, which is the only viable option to be successful in a match as survivor right now. Abusive killer plays are out of control now that they know nobody can reasonably self-heal. Flashlights received another nerf and are near useless, as are med kits. What else are survivors supposed to do but gens?
Medkits are far from useless.
It's still more effective than normal altruistic healing.
-
I have played mainly survivors yesterday to complete challenges and I don't get what everyone is talking about.
Can't time to do gens? How that happens? I really want to see gameplay...
Most of our games we got at least two out. I haven't seen tunneling nor camping from 5 gen.
They usually went for it around 2-3 gens, which I find understandable. Both sides have chance to win at that point. Survivor just need to get decent chase.
What is best are queue times. Killers are still better at it, but I hated survivors 5+ minutes queue times. Most of my games it was under minute.
So I enjoy games more than before.
What really changed? DH, CoH, Medkits
didn't use DH, nor CoH.
Medkits only brown, so it didn't change much for me.
In my perspective of trying to make the game stretch is not working out
That's not what they are doing, they are trying to make it faster more chase focused instead. That's why healing and gen regression got nerfed.
CoH was creating way longer game than needed.

I have just opposite. Whenever i dont want to be healed, i have resilience, gen is nearly done or anything, other survs mostly refuse to do gens and t-bag near me to heal me.
Understandable, respect and good luck with your Billy

How You want to beat 3gen if killer is not moving from there? If killer is not interested in chases so will not down, not hook and not attempt to kill survivors? Please, tell me how?
He can't be everywhere?
You try to focus two gens on side, whenever killer goes your way, you prerun away. He goes for other gen, you go back to work on it. Repeat. If killer commits you don't try to loop there, just hold W as far as you can from 3-gen.
That's how.
You really thought 3-gen is some auto-win strategy? Of course you can beat it. It's harder than when killer plays your way by just randomly chasing whoever he sees, but it's possible.
Merchant with CoB and overcharge, that was near impossible. Even tournament level teams had problems with it, but those two perks are nerfed into oblivion, so it's possible again.
Of course depends on killer how hard it is.

@Archael said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3408868#Comment_3408868
No. defending 3gen is ok. What is not ok is to not participate in trial.
If You make a situation where to end the game the other side have to forfeit, surrender or let You to kill them, then you are keeping game hostage. If they made such situation its their fault. Can You see the difference? Same with other way around (tho now we have afk crows) if surv is creating a situation where to end the game Your only option was to disconnect, forfeit, surrender the trial, then they was keeping game hostage. This was possible when there was no afk crows, and survs could just hide whole game, or even jump into locker and afk there.
And one of the previous arguments:
"For survivors having fun, why i should care" or something like that. Im gonna to answer why - because playing in most unfun way will make a situation where you would play with noone anymore. But this is behaviour part, to make game fun and engaging, so that people will not leave and so that game will live.
So your take really is:
survivors made 3-gen: it's fine to defend it.
killer made 3-gen: he should get banned, because it's holding game hostage.
3-gen can be beaten, how is it holding the game hostage?
I don't have to play in a way you think this game should be played.
With your logic, every other Hag player would be banned. They don't leave their web of traps, it would be dumb to do it.

That perk was a crutch, if your "gaming experience" is ruined by a balancing act... that's just funny to me.
right now survivors still have plenties of powerful options to chose from, killers in higher mmr still get absolutely destroyed by survivors without it and that's should signal something that a survivor perks was at 35% pick rate ... when the next most picked killer perk was just 11%. It shouldn't justify the devs having to keep ruining the experience of killers to make up for it.
in fact, what ruins my experience right now as killer is the fact that they nerfed Overcharge and CoB as a slap on the face of all killers.
Last patch killers all around were reeling from a series of major nerfs beyond this world, even HillBilly (used to be very popular but now barely played anymore by the community) and now, we still get nerfed on top of all that!
you nerf like 2 perks from survivors and they cry like they lost a love one or something... just no.
Go play Hillbilly then you'll know what a "ruined gaming experience" feels like.
I have played him today.
I have no idea why anyone does it. He is so hard to play, but it's so not worth it.

Medkits should not be primary source of healing.
It's not that complicated...
I have been doing survivor challenges as soloQ today, not really an issue. Except on Blight game, we always managed to get someone out of the gate.
My build for SoloQ: Lithe, WoO, Bond, We'll make it
This build let me easily get long chases while making sure to not bring killer towards my teammates on gen. Wel'll make it is just good.
What are you talking about unfair for soloQ? SoloQ shouldn't be some nerf gatekeeper.
-Selfhealing was busted. Changes are fine.
-Medkits are still valid.

Do You even understand what i'm talking about?
Or trying at least?
Do You understand the difference between defending 3gen and sticking to 3gen?
If You defend 3 gens then You catch survivors, down them and hook.
If your goal is to stick to gens, dont chase and refuse to down survivors, then its keeping game hostage.
I dont understand how one can not see the difference... Or im dumb and can't explain it...
Option B is correct
Refuse to down survivors? How that work? They are free to finish gens at that point, right?
If I see survivor is leaving 3-gen area and I am not in position to down him under 60 seconds, or get hit in 10 seconds. It would be dumb to commit to that chase.
But that's also how survivors should play it, have survivors on each side where is gen, try to work on it and prerun away when killer gets nearby. Sooner or later you will either finish gens, or killer is forced to commit to chase.
Defending 3-gen from start of the game is not really fun strategy, but it works. It's also possible to beat it. So why is that bannable again?
-If killer is doing nothing except preventing game progress. Its reportable and bannable.
-Im not talking that protecting 3gen is reportable.
From what I get, you think defending 3-gen at end of the game is fine, but defending 3-gen from start of the game is reportable. It doesn't make sense.

No, the premise is that killer was doing nothing since game start. He was not chasing, he was not looking for survs, he was not patrolling gens, he did presicely nothing except waiting at 3gen situation. So no, its not his job. His job is to kill survivors, not to protect gens. If killer was NOT doing his job for whole game, then its his fault. Im not talking about situation of defending 3gen. Im talking abut situation where killer was protecting 3gens from game start and refuse chases and protection of other gens.
Beside. Even if killer is defending 3gen, his main objective is to hook and sacrifice, so if killer is refusing chases and downs only because survs are running away from him (how dare they!) then he is not doing his job.
If killer being afraid he loose is not attempting to win, then he also is not doing his job.
And if you are thinking that survs should forfeit either by disconnect or lett8ing killer kill them, then you should think about it a little more.
Any situation where one side has only choice of forfeit is consider keeping game hostage.
It is possible to break 3-gen, what are you talking about?
There are maps where I regularly play this way. Azarov's Resting Place is probably best example. This maps sucks if you get to low gens and some on both sides. So I just ignore 50% of the map and play with 4 gens total.
It's way to win, my job is to kill survivors. Well, this strategy will help me kill survivors. What's bad about it exactly? That survivors don't have fun, why should I care?
It's definetly not something to get reported for imo. I am not abusing anything, you can't really tell me how to play a killer.
Survivors can try to break my 3-gen, either they do it or die. Or they can go hide in corner and cry on forum. That works too I guess...
But it's not holding the game hostage. Killer can do it only by bodyblocking last survivor in corner. Cheaters can do it whenever they want.
Survivors can do it in theory by hiding for very long time, it's happening when there are last two survivors left, but I don't think that is reportable either. It's annoying as hell and I usually let them bleed out for it, but hey. They can do it.

Yeah, but controll here is on killer side. He refused to play the game waiting at dead zone and not let others to play. If You want to say that not participating in trial and denying normal game for others which results in potentially infinite game is not taking game hostage, then do it and i will be happy to report You, then You will be crying at forum that You were banned.
If the only way to progress the game is to forfeit this is exaclty what taking game hostage is. If killer would play whole game normally and survs would leave such 3gen scenario, then its their fault. But if killer found perfect way to block progress from the start and refused in normal gameplay, this is his fault.
Not really, he is defending gens. That's killers job.
I can say those survivors simply refused to work on gens, I tried to chase them, but they always prerun and I would lose the game, so I won't commit. It's on them, go work on gens.
Control is not really simply on killer side. If survivors hide, don't go near gens. Is control on killer side? No. Can killer finish the game? No. So it would seem survivors are better at holding the game hostage. They had option to end game at any point. Killer didn't.

You can apply this logic to killer - he is free to let them finish gens. So why You apply this logic only to one side?
Did I say survivors were keeping the game hostage? No
They can both do it. Neither side is holding the game hostage. That's stupid. Both were free to give up at any point of the game.

this is called keeping game hostage. If killer is doing nothing except preventing game progress. Its reportable and bannable.
lol, no.
This is not keeping game hostage. They were free to die.
