  • so basically remove I-frames and have it like distance only?

it would probably still be used, but they are going to change all meta perks so it doesn't matter now.

  • Time wasted for survivors will be higher on average, but you are less likely to kill anyone.

  • Their balance patch has also kill their game.

Do you really believe they are able to balance it for both sides?

Not implying hooks are the end all be all perfect balance metric, it has issues. However, they are way, way more accurate a measurement than kill rates. Kill rates are literally the worst metric.

I don't think they are worst. Thing is how you approach them. Kills, Hooks, winrate whatever,

Big data is just not good way to balance overall. Everything has a reason and they often failed to see it.

Nurse has low killrate because she is hard.

Twins have high killrate in high MMR because only true mains keep playing Twins.

Wraith had high kill rate in low MMR because he is easy.

    etc.

if anything they should involve pickrate to balance too, but there is whole issue with free killers etc. but I really wouldn't nerf killer with less than 3% pick rate -> Twins

Not implying it does mean you lost. However, we can reasonably agree that hooks/kills are vastly increased post 5th gen with a majority of it from NOED and hook bombing. You can literally just camp secure 1k post 5th gen. I would argue that most kills/hooks post 5th gen are not related to skill, skill hooks/kills being the exception rather than the rule.

sure, but I don't think hooks are good neither. Hooks are not same for all killers.

For example Oni, or Hag, I can get 4k with them while having 6 hooks total easily. By your definition it would mean they are weak.

That's why I would prefer winrate instead. It would filter most of those one kill camping and it works for all killers same.

I think the biggest issue back then was, that people suicided against him. Simply because they didn´t like playing against him.

Kinda like what people do now against Nurse.

I don't think that was enough to change it by a lot. Forever freddy was hell to play against, so it was understandable to do tho.

Nurse still has under 50%, but she is just super hard. That's why you can't have easy and good killer. That's why Freddy and Wraith got nerfed.

How about you start to accept that the one role is always more stressfull by nature? Killer has never been so easy as the gameplay is completely broken towards killers. Everytime anyone complains on the forums, esp you, its more than obvious its a player issue and not a game issue. Start thinking about yourself and not blaming anything else. At some point you would realize how bad you are as player.

how is gameplay completely broken towards killers in general?

I would give you some top tier killers, but definetly not overall thing. Unless you want to convince me that Pig, Trapper, Myers etc. are OP.

  • @Blueberry said:

Measuring balance around kill rates is a flawed metric to begin with, it should be around hooks and hooks after 5 gens are done, not when the game has ended. Hook bombing and noed kills at the end don’t reflect game balance.

just because gens are done it doesn't mean you lost. Even without noed / no way out.

Kill rates are boosted tho, because it's not hard to secure 1k unless you gave up in most games.

I would want to see data with winrate instead, which is something they made MMR around so it makes sense.

    Thats kinda the point...

Killers already had a kill rate around 75% and people played just fine. Claiming now, that survivors would stop playing, because it would turn survivors into bloodpoint piñatas is simply wrong.

There is a difference if one killer has high killrate or if you want average of all killer to be there.

Freddy was a good killer and easy, that's why he got there and I think they overnerfed him hard. If they just changed his addons so forever freddy is not a thing everyone would be fine.

The first three searches now are less likely to give a key. So survivors will end up searching boxes more on aveverage.

At worst this will neutralize itself with survivors spending more time searching but making it up with less distance traveled.

There's only a couple of maps where this might be a full on nerf like rpd and midwich since those are the only maps where it might be impossible to check all 4 boxes.

You are less likely to escape fast, but you are also way less likely to die to it.

It's not as bad a nerf as some people try to say tho.

I respect boops with pig so she was never a serious killer for me, so I don't really care. I wish they would buff her crouch, so she feels better to play as.

  • @Starrseed said:

Nah 50% is alright I would just love if the fun we have gets more.

Atm you roughly have a 50% win rate wich is fair but the problem is that most of the games you lose feel like a kick in the guts because there was no chance in winning and most of the games you win feel like there was never a chance of loosing. The amount of games that felt fair and you had a fun exiting game no matter if it's a loos or a win are just to small and that goes for. Both sides

I am not sure that can really be fixed to be honest.

DBD can't really be carried by one survivor. Even one bad teammate can lose you whole game. They tried to fix this by MMR and we know how that went.

  • yeah... nope

Imagine being new player and getting killed by entity for no reason. Also healtech is a thing, sometimes you just need to be there to save your teammates.

If you have problem with it, just don't go there. You can't see it if you are not watching.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

It was more like a buff honestly but Pig is definitely pretty weak.

    not really

you can't patrol your boxes that well

escape on first attempt will be less likely, but your time wasted on multiple attempts will be lower, because distance you have to travel is lower.

  • @NekoGamerX said:

    what nerf?

there is an extra box, but maximum attempts is still 4.

  • @Crowman said:

I don't think the game being balanced around 75% would be any better.

Personally I just think the devs need to factor in that majority of games the killer can secure at least 1 kill. That gives you an average of 60% instead of 50%.

You could fix that by tracking winrate instead of killrate. 4-3 win, 2 draw, 1-0 lose

that is something that should be around 50%, not really a kill rate.

I don't think killers overall need many buffs, it is just more a specific killers thing imo. But then you see them nerf Wraith / Deathslinger / Freddy / Twins and you lose hope.

  • There is lot of possible changes to improve him.

I think they did his nerf in terrible way that is bad for both sides. Survivors don't see it only because noone plays Deathslinger.

Quickscope wasn't an issue, that was what made him interesting anyway and you were forced to predict more. Right now you can just react, which is boring for me.

Issue was faking ADS and they didn't fix that. He is forced to fake his shots instead, because anyone can react to them now.

I don't know if they changed it or not, but his lower sensitivity and FOV makes his ADS terrible to use. I fixed that with my mouse that I increased my DPI whenever I went to ADS, but that is not something most players can do.

He is not worst killer by any means, but he is definetly worst ranged killer right now. He is like twins, you can perform well but it hurts you.

Noone can convince me that his shots are something you should be able to react to, he is lot of limitations compare to other ranged killers with little to no benefits. Only things going for him are STBFL and mending, but mending is not that good for him because he is 110% killer.

  • that is terrible idea that would kill their game. They are already losing killers, why would you make a change to lose survivors too?

this could be fixed just by not allowed to change character and item.

  • why not?

I mean, it shouldn't in theory but for different reason than you said.

it's two teams, doesn't really matter how many players in terms of balance. Winrate should be 50% not kill rate tho.

  • I have stopped playing last year. Deathslinger, Wraith nerfs, validation feedback, CoH, MMR

they fixed most of my issues except balancing of course. I might start again after their balance patch just to test things.

That will most likely either save or kill their game. Most likely kill

  • 50% is fine, but they should really pick MMR group and focus on that.

Right now you got nerfs on Wraith because of low MMR and nerfs on Twins because of high MMR (which doesn't make sense btw).

  • @DrDeepwound said:

I would give up individual killer MMR to be able to change killers in lobby.

Throw me to the lions on a new killer IDC, but gimme the ability to change killers if I want.

It would become kinda hell for SWF groups. S tier killer festival all day.

I usually watch second monitor so I have no idea what I am playing against, so it wouldn't change much for me.

  • If you made it work then Pop would also work. Same for Devour, BBQ, DS etc.

It would actually be really good for PH unless he wants to tunnel.

  • @burt0r said:

They softened the matchmaking parameters since the implementation of the new MMR system already because the top MMR did wait too long in queue and only had sweet matches.

Aka it's close to free for all MMR wise again.

    Good luck

Addendum: killer character specific MMR is btw also more than anything just lip service. If you compare the system to a point ELO system, your new killer is starting at a middle value of MMR and/or not more than 200/300 ELO points below or above your other or your best killer characters. So it is basically useless and you will have many bad matches with a new and maybe mechanically demanding killer.

And as a bonus, switching killer during pregame lobby is still no longer possible despite all those promises.

Killer character specific MMR used to work kinda well before.

It doesn't now when it is free for all again tho.

I had killers where I was keeping MMR low (Pig) and killers where I was doing my best to win (Oni). It was easy to see a difference. Not anymore tho

  • I think it's just that those players don't want to rely on their teammates. You can see Ayrun using self-care on his escape streaks, but he changes it to CoH sometimes.

  • Probably never?

I would kinda like to know how is match making supposed to work now to be honest. I am sure it's not just based on MMR since their last change like it used to.

Since that last change my games got harder even on killers that I made sure to have low MMR.
