im glad everything is good for you. Like most of what you said, completely ‘you, centric. So good for you, and your games. Let’s hope people that have the same views as ‘you’ don’t end up trashing the game.

you’ll be glad to know, 4 of us deleted the game today, so that’s 4 survivors that help your ‘fewer survivors’ nonsense.

Oh right, like your whole issue is not about you and your experience.

4 people, so you are full SWF survivor and still have an issue?

Or you mean like other 3 players on this forum that are just exaggerating to give their point some value.

How dare I to be centric about not having an issue.

Most people as in killers. No survivor only player is going to be happy with these medkit and boone nerfs. The game play changes significantly when someone can't self heal on occasion, I always had a medkit but only for when I absolutely couldn't find someone else to heal me, like when you are the last survivor left. Finding a medkit in a chest now is basically useless. If the game wanted to get rid of survivors then it worked. If you want some killer perks back sure that's fine, I honestly think the game is way too imbalanced now.

You still can self-heal, it's not that much longer.

You can use inner-healing, or resurgence for more uses of medkit.

Just try to adapt or find alternative. You quit kinda too fast.

Most survivors played without bringing medkits or boons. So they don't care about this change.

If you think everyone is going to quit like you, you are mistaken.

I really don't mind less survivors. My main issue for playing survivor is queue times. So it's good for me, when some survivors leave.

  • @Spare_Them_Mori_Me said:

Ah, I agree. I could 4k your crew with him though. But he.. does kind of need love :(

You can 4k with anyone in theory. But if you talk about overall gameplay, he is definitely one of the worst killers in the game.

He has some chance against soloQ, but when you have team who can call out his traps, it just gets bad. Also RNG is big thing and lot of new maps is completely without grass to hide his traps.

He has some good add-ons tho.

  • Seems like issue is soloQ, not healing nerf.

Instead of trying to revert. It might be better to think about what would improve your soloQ experience.

Game is not really killer sided. It's still same as before imo:

    1)SWF + nurse, Blight, spirit

    2) most killers

    3)soloQ + trapper, pig

  • I still use it, it's great with Nowhere to hide.

Whatever the term, you are being pernicious and symantecs makes no odds to the point. Call it what you want.

If you think tunnelling someone out the game is good, ‘you’ are the problem. It’s not whining.

I completely agree it should be fun for the killer… but hook and move on.

Hopefully they will get the AI sorted so survivors can just play against BOT killer if they choose.

If you want to play against Bot killer you clearly like an easy games.

I have never said tunneling is good, but it's not really bad for the game either.

If you simply implement something to prevent tunneling without implementing an effective alternative. It wouldn't end well. Simple as that.

Feel free to think of way to prevent it and alternative way. Most fixes I have seen suggested would be possible to abuse by survivors, so wouldn't work.

I can see why you wouldn't like tunneling from start, it's hard to deal with without good SWF. But tunneling to remove player from the game on 2-3 gens is not bad imo. It's simply way for killer to win.

Alternative way to win was 3-gen, you didn't have to tunnel anyone out. But we have seen how that went. Survivors hated it, so it was nerfed into oblivion.

  • Just don't be lazy, you can pick whole route to item you want.

I always check blood web, cherrypick what I really want, then let automatic system finish it for me.

Well, a ######### off mind, is exactly that I guess.

I am merely trying to open narative, but all you seem to be interested in is saying; nothing to see here, nothing you say is valid.

like I say, I’m not saying my ideas are perfect, but the game as-is, is poor and needs a rethink.

So you basically want a different game. Well, you don't need to change current game for this.

As Mathieu said: "Maybe try something else for a week. Try Civilization or something."

Steam Workshop idea might work, issue is it would be useless for console and epic games. So it's unlikely to be implemented.

Well, you know what happened to the dinosaurs.

You just keep saying no, it can’t, it’s not this it’s not that… there’s no evidence of that. They can try and give options to people.

In the end this will be defunct anyway, giving way to a better idea.

Or you can try to think about possible consequences of your ideas?

You just take concept from completely different game and say I want it here, when there is no way it could work.

I will much rather have devs to focus on something meaningful for the game than waste months on modes that noone will play after two weeks.

Only thing that might be good is implementing steam workshop, so groups can make custom lobby games interesting.

Why not make it a game that allows selection before matching. I.e. No perks rounds (for all), No exhaustion/Aura, Timed - see how many gens can be done in time allocated with unlimited hooks to allow slow-down not kill.

Theres so many game styles that could be utilised, mix it up, make it fun. Quintessentially this game is the same concept from 7 years ago… it needs some fresh perspective.

Queue times are already bad, you would make it worse. That's why.

This is not game for multiple mods, it doesn't work with 4v1 concept.

More than enough… for now (perhaps).

If this game feels ‘too hard’ for new / casual players, that I suggest download the game for free or peanuts, they won’t stick around long. Watch that well dry up.

Even playing as survivor over the last couple of months as solo has seen wait times extend significantly.

This game is terrible for new players anyway. There is no way someone will get to start playing DBD alone.

If they do, they are killers. Then those nerfs help them.

Otherwise it will be SWF, which makes it easier for them.

Even playing as survivor over the last couple of months as solo has seen wait times extend significantly.

Yeah, that means not enough killers.

  • Basekit DS, what could go wrong...

  • @Aaronseuk said:

The point of these nerfs is to not self-heal.

I’m pretty sure they will undo a lot of this, I won’t be playing until they do.

If was in charge, I’d make everything ‘strong’ on both sides, to give more gameplay, not smack it all out so everything is tedious and boring, and presses gameplay style.

This is not type of game where "nothing is op, when everything is op" would work.

And highly doubt it will be changed back. We have more than enough survivors...

I’m not sure what you are talking about ‘moral code’ or your initial hypothetical.

I rarely see 4x toolboxes and ‘instaheal’? That still takes 17 seconds to activate, I really have no idea what you are talking about…

Anyway, to answer… this has nothing to do with a moral code, it’s to do with parlaying a game, having fun and enjoying the experience.

I am assuming you may be someone who lives and breathes this ‘to win’. I personally don’t care if I win, I just want to have a chance to ‘play’. I’m not the best nor worse player, I use whatever’s available and I change loadout regularly to make it entertaining.

If people play unfairly, then I just stop them getting more points and exit the game, I’m not spending ‘time’ wasted in games like that.

I say again, I play for ‘fun’, sorry… used to play for fun, I’m just moving on to a better game now… this odd, pointless game causes a lot of friction between people.

It's called insta heal, because it used to be instant. But even now your action is instant so 0 time wasted. You just can't easily use it in chase.

I see brand new parts quite often...

I don't really care about winning. Just don't like whole complaining about tunneling overall.

You can play against it, you get to have a chase. It's nothing like from 5-gen face camping we used to have. That was boring and hard to stop. Tunneling is not.

Why you care about tunneling when you don't breathe "to win"? You got to have chase whole game and can move on next game faster if you fail.

Way better than wasting 30 min on 3-gen situation, but you would complain against that too.

Basically killer is not allowed to have fun, when survivors don't have fun.

If you don't want it connected with moral code, don't call it bad sportsmanship. You can try unfair, or unfun. Bad that doesn't sound so good for your point, right?

You say that, but healing keeps the game alive. I realise that is frustrating when you play killer… but at least you get to ‘play’ for a while.

I would be very happy for COB and PR to return to current form of healing is returned back to its former self.

It's not just CoB and PR.

It's also corrupt, eruption, Overcharge, pop, ruin.

I am happy with both nerfs tho.

I loved strategy hit&run (spreading hits), but CoH killed it.

It's viable again and with regression perk nerfs, it is good idea to play more information or chase perks as a killer.

I really won't complain about nerfing 3-gen situation as a survivor.

It was hard to build a pressure when every survivor could heal alone. It was usually fixed by stacking slowdown perks.

I think game will improve with this overall.

I have never really used self-healing as survivor, so I don't care about healing nerf.

Try using We'll make it, or inner healing for yourself.

  • You can try to play full slugging if you want to try win.

Or just down that player doing this and watch him bleed out.

It's not about winning, it's about message.

  • I just watch something on second monitor waiting for them to leave.

I am doing something else while wasting their time.

  • @Aaronseuk said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3404037#Comment_3404037

Tunnelling isn’t ‘playing the game’, it’s bad sportsmanship and shows a lack of skill in my opinion.

people ‘play’ the game to ‘play’, not to spend time doing loadout, lobby and so-on, to then be kicked out the game in a few minutes, get few points and de-pip, just because a killer can’t deal with four players, or someone that adds challenge to the round.

I am quite happy to kill myself on hook if tunnelled, facecamped, camped in basement. I’m not wasting time in a game when the opponent plays like that. No time for that nonsense.

Using insta heal and brand new parts, 4x toolbox / medkit and map offering is also considered bad sportsmanship and shows a lack of skill in your opinion?

Unless it's 3 hook only kill tunneling, it's fine. But even that just means survivors didn't try to protect each other. You can just take hits against most killers.

Simply put there is no reason to not do it. It's currently best way to win as a killer. Nothing to do with sportsmanship and your personal moral code.

The fact you even said there was a good example for killing yourself on hook, would suggests it should stay.

They don’t ban tunnelling, so why should they ban this?

Yeah I get it the hold point of it is that since you work to get the automatic blood web. It’s like getting a small reward in a way.

I also understand that yes you may miss some certain add ons that you want in the long run with the automatic blood web. So I can see that being a pain sometimes.

But I will agree that overall it’s good and easy to use. I just thought it would be nice to also have at the start.

System is way better even without automatic blood web.

Funny is that I can get it cheaper than automatic bloodweb, but it's way easier.

I usually cherrypick what I want (addons/BPS), then let automatic system do the work.

First of all I didn't call everyone bias just you. If you read your post they are a bit on the aggressive side.

I did say there are a lot of killer main responses because......there is.

My first post was an overreaction. I agree. I could edit it but I won't because that'd be silly.

Wrong person. Never cared about bias thing.

Just because someone doesn't agree with you, it's not killer main btw.

There is lot of survivors who don't use medkits or CoH.

If anyone would be bias, it's you because someone is taking away your toy.

I am supposed to be bias, because I said I can play without it?

Aggressive response was for a guy saying I have definitely never played soloQ, otherwise there is no way I can play without CoH. It was just pathetic imo.

  • @SOULWARRIOR71K said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3403356#Comment_3403356

I don’t agree at all. 9/10 games I’ve played today, the killer had sloppy butcher. Healing was almost impossible if multiple people were injured. End result most times were free 1 hit downs. Very difficult to power through gens while injured and then having deadlock, PR, sloppy, corrupt etc on top of it. The time efficiency decrease in solo q has been very evident.

So you want to tell me, 9/10 killers you played against were M1 killers? That seems weird....

Sloppy is exactly same if you don't self-heal as before.

  • I have feeling it's with purpose of making player actually going through add-ons and make them get higher rarity.

If you went automatic from start, you would miss most higher tier add-ons, right?

It's still an improvement, so I don't mind.

  • @SOULWARRIOR71K said:

They didn’t need to nerf all medkits. Just make it so they don’t increase your self heal speed. Everyone is focused on COH but butchering medkits will have a much bigger impact.

Medkit shouldn't be a primary source of healing. It should be an alternative you can use.

    They are still valid imo.

Haha. I am not going to uninstall. That was a bit of an overreaction. However, most of the responses here are from killer mains no one wants to seem to find a balance. I guess in the end it doesn't really matter because there will be changes made again and again.

    Neither do you, your point?

You just think your opinion is the perfect balance.

They actually tried to balance it, remove self-healing, buff healing aspect.

You wanted nothing changed, where is exactly balance?

Your argument is: "I can't play without it. Change it or I quit."

Then goes: "trust me, I can get 4k whenever I want as a killer, so this doesn't have to be nerfed."

Yeah, why bother testing new CoH or finding an alternative when you can simply throw a tantrum, right?

  • That is hopefully a bug.

Otherwise PR is super useless. Why would they do it?

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3403254#Comment_3403254

If killer is camping, just wait it out, otherwise just rescue him until one is on death hook.

There is no necessity for hook suicide at all, it's not like hiding is difficult or anything at that point of the game too, killers don't really have much of perks to find survivors except that locker perk which is inconsistent.

And if killer found second survivor? My suicide will give him a chance to escape.

  • @AtoTimber said:

why do they go through floors? It doesn't make sense and they should absolutely not go through floors. Playing her on Midwich is just insane. You can't go anywhere. She drones every walk way and theres nothing you can do

Same reason why boons work through floors.

It's how radius mechanic work in their code and it's yet to be changed.

Finally something fun to do with her. I need to try this.

It seems like you are biased. I have no issue as a killer right now. I would say 60 percent of the time I get all 4. I didn't think there was any need to nerf healing. It actually sounds like a 'git gud' on your side.

    I can win with both.

It depends on what killer you play and how you play of course.

You are the one making post about leaving the game, just saying...

If you are so good killer, then play killer. There is not enough of us.

But you instead want to uninstall the game... So doubt it.

  • @SOULWARRIOR71K said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3403240#Comment_3403240

Do you play both roles? Go into solo q and play a few rounds with these changes. Then let us know if you still have this response.

I am mainly killer main, but I play soloQ for challenges. Still same response.

Survivors were fine before CoH was released, but now they need it to play the game?

SoloQ improved a lot, it will never be SWF level tho.

    Seems like git gud issue

  • make the death-hook survivor invulnerable,

Not sure how you want that to work. Unless you completely remove their hitbox, it would be possible to abuse the hell out of this.

    Pyramid Head's cage mechanic

Sure, if killer perks work too. It would be actually buff for him.

    Camping needs to be addressed

    1) sure

    2) hell no, unless it's super small radius, but then it's useless. Most killers simply don't deserve it. This should be killer specific thing.

  • @pigslittlepet said:

That is your opinion and you are entitled to it but I disagree. There a situations where killing yourself on hook is understandable and is acceptable. Say you do a 60 second chase and go on hook. Your teammates haven't touched a gen and one is afk and another is looting chest basement. Why would you stay in that match? Why should you be made to stay in that match if you're the only one willing to do the objective?

You didn't use exactly good example. It just means you are tilted because of your team and decide it's not worth your time. Yeah, so there is no reason to have DC penalty at all with your logic. You are basically one of reasons why there is a DC penalty.

Better example would be last two survivors alive, one on hook kill himself so other have chance for hatch. That's valid.

  • What healing changes?

You are not able to play without free self-care (CoH)? Or without healing under 10 seconds (Green medkit)

I usually use only brown medkit, or none. You just got used to using training wheels...

If you need to heal so much try inner-healing. If you have so many hours, you should know totem spawns.

  • Hag is currently getting nerfed and you want more? I hope you have ready 5+ buffs to make her viable without it. I doubt it.

Knight is nowhere near strong enough killer to care about his camping ability.

There are killers way better at it. His guard will not hit if survivor manage to unhook in time.

It doesn't make sense to get killers in line. Why didn't you talk about trapper? He can use his power next to hook.

    Bubba, Trickster, Huntress, Oni, Billy.

You can't really talk about standard when there is none.

This limitation is killer specific thing. It's bad idea to make it standard. Some killers simply don't deserve it.

    Artist need it for sure.

I don't know about skull merchant...

And why the hell does Pyramid Head has it.

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3402360#Comment_3402360

Dude, being able to manage the timing in some cases, is better than not being able to manage the timing at all.

Sure, sometimes you might opt for the white hook and the gen pops just as you're about to hook them, of course you just have to suck it up in that case, but that doesn't negate all the instances where the timing doesn't happen that way and you do get to make that choice and have it play out as you intended.

Just because you're not going to be omniscient with perfect knowledge of gen progress at all moments of a match doesn't mean there isn't any value is maintaining gamesense and potentially using any knowledge you do have to your advantage.

Being able to choose when you white-hook someone over not having that choice at all is in all cases a positive to the perk.

"You haven't thought this out" no you've overthought it and hyperfocused on the worst case scenario at the expense of ignoring literally all other scenarios.

I can time it with some slugging...

  • @Pinheadftw said:

I play a lot of killer, and a lot with knight. most of my games are 3k's. Once you figure out little tricks with him, he is very strong. The guards job is NOT to down a survivor, that is a bonus, it is to pressure multiple survivors. A guard chasing one and you another, is HALF the team not doing anything. FEARMONGER perk, allows you to drop guards at Gens and not have to worry about Sprint Burst as much, allowing the guard to catch up to them quicker, this perk gets a lot more guard hits then you think they will.

Save the Best For Last is fairly good on him too, allows you to close chases that much quicker. DON'T camp hooks with guards, it is actually very inefficient as all it takes is the unhook to stop a guard and they still have to go to where they saw the survivor, by that time the unhook has happened.

Dont send guard the most obvious route. Use them to cut off choices. See them potentially running to shack, drop him in shack. Knight is about mind gaming a bit, and prediction. Once you can make some predictions, he is a powerhouse. Call to Arms add on is essential, the speed boost from that is super helpful. The double assassin add on is another that is fantastic. He is your hitter and downer. You will figure it out in time. Does he need some tweeks, absolutly. I do think the ability to drop a guard at the hook needs to stop, to bring in line with other killers that cant use "trap" style powers at the hook.

    Does he need tweaks, absolutely.

    So let's nerf him...

  • BP grind got kinda better, but I really wouldn't want to start playing again.

You need sooo much BP. It's not so bad on survivors, but good luck with killers, where you need different perks for each killer.

If you really like this game, but grind is main issue, I would suggest waiting for anniversary event. Everyone is spamming cakes at that time, so you can easily get 200k BP per game. Probably more now...

So that's best time to unlock things.

If players are so scared of prestige, maybe they should hide it in lobby. You just overthink that. Prestige means nothing, it just means they used all their BP on that character, but that doesn't make them good.

starting MMR is average level, if you keep losing, you will got down, simple as that.

Yeah, I've been talking about Overcharge this whole time. CoB will be fine, it's always had the information aspect so the nerf to the regression rate won't harm it as badly as the nerfs to Overcharge.

It's not an incredible perk, but it's usable. You'd be surprised how useful those loud noise notifications can be, depending on context.

It's not usable. Regression part is useless, information part is worse than existing perks (Nowhere to hide and Surveillance).

I want to see you play it. It sucks, there is no build I would use it for.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3401742#Comment_3401742

Eh, I think that'd be an over-reach of the killswitch. That functionality is for things that are broken, not badly designed. If we go down that road a lot of this game will end up disabled, lol.

Again, nuking a perk that is already useless is very different to nuking a perk that had legitimate function. Besides, Overcharge kiiiind of still works? It's just, only really useful for players at a level where skillchecks are frequently missed, which in fairness isn't nobody.

Overcharge was always bad, nerfing him won't really change it this much.

CoB wasn't useless, it was quite good perk even without overcharge combo, it is terrible now. So killers still lost one good perk.

I mean, they better to come up with some better buffs to perks on both sides. So there is something to use.

But why say killers has multiple op perks when you can not name any?

    To prove a false point.

It's funny there is not even an attempt to defend his opinion.

I would be able to come up with some strong perks (not op, but at least room for a debate), but nope. Suddenly he can't remember names...

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3401727#Comment_3401727

The perk wasn't fixed. The problem was, specifically, the problem with enabling incredibly easy 3-gen holding for games that last 40 minutes. That has been at least mostly addressed with the perks that made it possible taken off the table.

CoB's information isn't comparable to Nowhere To Hide. Its closest analogue is Surveillance, and there's ups and downs to both. It'll have a use, and that use shouldn't be regression because we saw how that ended up.

Completely changing perks takes a lot longer, and people's complaints had reached a fever pitch regarding 3-gens. Sure, they misidentified the cause as Skull Merchant, but that just means they'll still be mad even after she's addressed. The idea that a quick but imperfect fix should come in isn't entirely insane, imo.

I would rather see just using kill switch, while fixing the perk, even if it takes few months.

This is lazy treatmant, just nuking the perk to fix a problem. There is already lot of useless perks on both sides, I don't think we need to add more.

well i dont. As i said, dont take this too seriously☺️

So your whole post is irrelevant...

And when you don't know perks, you seem like new player, so this is simply skill issue, nothing to do with balancing the game.

Possibly, but considering Overcharge is currently a useless perk if you aren't doing the 3-gen strat, I really cannot bring myself to be all that mad.

Like, sure, it's useless now. It was useless before, though. If you aren't the 3-gen sort, nothing's changed, the problem's just been dealt with.

I don't think that perk can be fixed. It should have been reworked.

Even before it was just noob stomper perk, not good for the game.

CoB might be fine with 150% imo, but there is no reason to use it nerfed to this level. Information part is irrelevant, when Nowhere to hide does that perk way better. That's actually still valid with Eruption.

CoB and Overcharge should have been completely changed.

idk how they're called. Dont take this comment too seriously.

You don't know their effect? Or just google it?

when they are so broken, you should know about them.

  • Where are those op killer perks? Still haven't seen any.

if you dont have a squad to play with, you will lose the game 60% of the time.

This doesn't make it killer sided...

You really want to have soloQ on same level as killer? and act like SWF is not a thing...

SoloQ is way better than it used to be, those icons helped a lot (at least to me). The fact that you are losing can be simply player skill issue. You can see same thing for lot of killers here. Just git gud

and I still want to see those op killer perks...

Not all in this patch, though, that's conflating two different statements. This patch is not nerfing all slowdown, it's fixing two problems and nerfing one additional slowdown perk that had more minor issues. Even the ones you mentioned as having been nerfed in the past are still good, since you've only really brought up Corrupt, Eruption, and Pop there; the first two are still very solid and the third can still be okay depending on situation.

And yeah, I'd say Call of Brine is being fixed, in a way. It's no longer going to be problematic for 3-gen builds but it is going to be a usable perk with a clear niche. Overcharge, to be fair, that one might actually be destroyed; the perk really needs a complete rework, though, so just removing it as a problem ASAP and dealing with it later is a pretty fair approach imo.

I'm going to not comment on Pain Res until I see it in action. Certainly nobody can deny that for your first couple hooks on Pain Res it's a buff in terms of raw effect, but we'll see if it needing to be on fresh survivors makes much of a difference to its usability. I'm trying not to comment too conclusively on PR until I can see it on live, save to point out that the buff they gave it from PTB to live will obviously have some effect.

so just removing it as a problem ASAP and dealing with it later is a pretty fair approach imo.

issue is they will not touch it for like 2-3 years.

  • i feel like this game isnt balanced anymore

    When was it balanced?

The killer has multiple perks that are so op, yet not nerfed

what perks? Lot of killer perks were nerfed to ground. Don't act like it's poor survivors thing.

I have not played for almost two years, come back month ago. The game is not balanced, but it's way better for both sides than it used to be.
