Hmmm. Someone else already pointed it out how the 5 looks like the 3 off the original RE3 cover and I agree it does.
The thing on the left... Idk what that could be. The only that springs to mind is RE7. It looks like the goop (idk how to explain it; those familiar with RE7 might know what I'm getting at) but I HIGHLY doubt that's right or it's a reference to RE7. I'm confident there's something RE3 in this chapter though whether it's a map, killer or survivor.
I honestly do not know though for sure, I'm so curious I wanna know who it is already!! Siiighs.
YOu mean the mold, eh it kinda does, but I bet its the figure from like last year I think

On a scale of one to ten, how helpful and/or have me and @QwQw been on the overall production of Pinebrook?
OH my god... I mean you have both been a 10/10. Beelze, you reminded me of what this series started as and I've actually would do something totally different id you didn't remind me of the psychological aspects of Pine brook. Qw You actually allowed me to bleed more character into Elliot and helped me with my... ######### grammar, but also added details I never thought I would add

Do you have anyone else on your staff, or is it just you?
Just me, sadly, although QwQw did edit some of the pages for me but school got in the way, which I fully understand. So yeah its technically only me

I don't know, the 5 does look rather special but if it's actually a hint or just a red herring i'm not sure.
I am also kinda curious about the zombie ( i think it's a zombie anyway) and the zombie noises from the teaser.
is it just to show hey it's RE or will it actually be something relevant in game
At this point RE is so damn big that its impossible to actually truly guess it

Same font as og RE3 no? Might need to turn the 5 around a bit, or it might also be S.T.A.R.S but with a 5TARS instead or something.
I personally don't see it

@Brokenbones said:
Someone said it looks like the 3 from the RE:3 boxart
Personally if you ask me, it looks like the top of the five is a hat and the curve is the body
That would indicate Mr. X
You know I kinda see the three that they are talking about, but also I kinda see the hat five of it. So it could be Mr.X

I don't really see how any of the perks could be "evil" in a swf.
I'm not sure what the killer could be, but I was thinking maybe a wisp of some kind? Though honestly I've made a lot of "monster" like killers so maybe I should try going for something more human?
Well the fact the killer gets BP everytime they do well, and basically awards a second chance for the survivor. But thats just me
Now for killer, do what you want. It doesn't have to be perfect hell I remember my first ever chapter concept and it flat out sucked, do what you please. It also depends on what you want to make the killer to be,
-
I like the perks, however it has some potential to be absolutely evil in the hands of SWF. Now you just need a killer that fits the tone of you chapter.

Why is this even a debate? There's no valid argument against adding someone LGBT.
Exactly, I don't get the point of arguing for something that is bound to come. Sure its not now, but it will come later. I may not be able to speak up for the LGBT but what I can say is that you know what I'm waiting for an Autism speaks charm. Everyone has a right to express themselves, whether they are LGBT+. Autistic, etc.

You could make the game a Souls-like, too, so the player absolutely needs to know their weapon and the enemy they're fighting at any given moment. That way. they'll be more engaged with the combat system than with more standard survival horror games.
Remnant: From the Ashes is a good example of a Souls-like with firearms, in case you were wondering how that could work.
Just a thought.
You mean dark souls? Oh boy I don't want to ensue that much rage into my players, but it could work, I don't have a lot of experience. I want to make some situations where you can fight your way or be stealthy to pass your obstacles. I do want there to be crafting making it for the players to be mindful of what they can and can't do in some situations. Now firearms are in the game, but... the ammo is extremely limited; for example the ammo for a rifle has only thirty rounds total and that's not including going around finding the bullets.
As for crafting James has some knowledge for crafting materials like a baby powder bomb, medicine, but not bullets. Playstyle of the bat was very similar to Joe bakers ( If you ever played RE 7 dlc End of Zoe), where James can perform combo that he learns later on.
This was something I wrote down on paper while making it I'm not

It honestly will have to depend on the killer, and survivor. They have to fit the characteristics of those two, or three, maybe even four if we are lucky

I'd even call Five Nights At Freddy's more influential than Outlast, and i don't like FNAF.
To an extent yeah, it is, mostly because it in a way reinvented horror by showing that you don't need high tech stuff, or even good programming, to make a scary horror game. Fnaf brought in a type of horror called indie horror in which brought in a new wave of creators. However Outlast definitely helped reinvente horror by taking what Amnesia did, but change it for a realistic, psychological, and torturous aspect to the genre. Outlast definitely isn't as popular as Fnaf but I think both those titles stand among many of the legendary titles of the horror video gaming genre

I'm here. Sorry for not responding right away.
Now it's time for the unending criticism that you must endure for the heinous crime of making something I'm willing to spend my time to contribute to.
...
Wow, I actually don't really have anything to say against this...
Wait, I've got one. There were a couple lines of dialogue that should've had a period instead of a comma. Also, you shouldn't put a space between the opening quotation mark and the first letter. I thought it was just a recurring typo, but given the quality of this page it seems deliberate.
Also, if we don't see Sluggy become very briefly implanted via surprise invasive surgery as an impromptu prosthetic brain, I will be sorely disappointed.
I like Caleb. There are so many things you could do with him as a character, both immensely horrific and endearingly wholesome.
We haven't seen much of James, but I like him so far. But I swear to God he better have anger issues, or so help me-
Thx, yeah Sluggy is actually James favorite weapon of choice, a baseball bat. I wanted it to reflect his personality and his interests, plus when I was thinking about making Pinebrook a game I felt that having to many guns blazing is a bit overused. So I wanted a melee weapon that forced the players to get up in front of the monster they're facing, it was a lot scarier given the fact of having to get close to a monster like Furnace Head, or some of the others just to fight them.

This movie always makes me laugh even if I know whats gonna happen its so damn hilarious everytime

Ah, James has finally been introduced, I like him so far.
I'm interested to see why Pinebrook seems normal at the moment, maybe things will change after James does a little exploring.
Side Note: Caleb is giving me slight Jack Baker vibes.
Thx, I mostly am basing James personality off of myself, and Caleb is in fact similar to Jack Baker now that think about it, but not as pychotic
-
I can't leave my old man Papa Baker to hang to dry, now can I?

Well if you thought the last page was the end of the prologue, well guess what... It isn't however it is almost done. Now I want thank you guys for pushing me to finish the prologue. Anyway here is the next page @QwQw , @Beelzeboop , @glitchboi, without futher ado here it is
Somewhere else in Pinebrook, an alarm that sat on a nightstand began to ring through out the dark room. The individual that laid in the bed let out a sleepy groan. They covered their head with another pillow, but it did little to blare out the loud alarm. The now annoyed person sat up and placed his hand on the alarm, it still continued ring. At this point, he had enough and slammed his fist on the alarm, it finally stopped ringing. The person let out a long sigh as he began to rub his sleepy eyes. His name, was Daniel Linderton. " Good mourning Daniel, time to get your ass up and movin'." He muttered, his voice had a slight southern drawl that he learned from his grandfather.
As he began to stand up he looked at his LED clock, it read six o'clock, enough time, for Daniel to get ready for work. I better call Samuel, make sure he did my job at the museum. Daniel noted as he walked for the light switch in the room. He carefully tried to maneuver his way to the light, but almost tripped on the stuff on his floor, . Daniel managed to get to the switch, and flipped it , however the light blinded him as he covered his eyes. " Oh ######### ,bad idea!" Daniel cried. After what felt like a while, his eyes adjusted to the light he was able to open them again to his room.
His room was slightly messy, with some clothes on the floor that need to be taken to the washer, and there was one stain on a carpet. Given that the house old it is close to being fully renovated, the room wasn't terrible, it had a baseball poster of the Indians. But the greatest thing in that room, was a Louisville slugger, that was around a yard long. This bat that Daniel named 'Sluggy', was a recently acquired bat for Daniel to use later on in the league. It was made of ash , and had a leather grip. But James stared down at his desk and reached for his phone, scooting his chair out of the way. He picked it up and dialed and waited.
" Come on Samuel, pick up the phone." Daniel whispered impatiently. But the call didn't come back. " I'm sorry, but the person your trying to call is unavailable, at the tone please leave a message, when you are finished please end the call." the receiver stated. A beep came and Daniel took a deep breath. " Hey Samuel, its me Daniel, I hope you did the cleaning last night, and when you have a moment call me back alright, bye." Daniel ended the voicemail and sighed.
Daniel set the phone down and left for the shower down the hall. He carefully paced down the wooden hallway, and into the shower. He closed the door behind him, stripped, and washed his body. It was quite a while before he turned off the shower head, and began to make his way back to his room with a towel. He checked the clock again and it read six seventeen . " I got time, before work." Daniel noted. He began dry off, and toward his dresser and pulled out a pair of dark jeans, a t shirt, and boxers. " You almost done there boy?" A gravelly voice came from outside the door.
"Yeah gimme a sec." Daniel responded as he pulled up his pants, and put on his shirt. He tightened his pants down, grabbed a pair of socks and exited his room to be greeted by his grandfather, Caleb Linderton. The man was old, but built like a damn tank, this man had large muscles, and could probably lift a whole fridge by himself. Daniel grew to respect him, even at a young age to now. " Alright son, I need you to go check on the chickens, and ol' Betsie while at it, also stand up straight boy, don't slouch." Caleb commanded, Daniel nodded as he began to walk down the hall. " I'll make breakfast for you, how does bacon and pancakes sound?" " Oh you don't need to ask that to get an answer." Daniel chuckled

Warning: Most of this will just be context so if you want the TLDR it'll be at the bottom. Feel free to add your own thoughts.
For context purposes I was playing survivor this morning, solo queue, ya know how it goes. I run into a survivor with legacy who is a streamer. I always like to check out streamers when I run into them and drop a hello and a follow or something just to be nice. I can appreciate the hard work they put into their streams, often times just for a few viewers. I admire their passion and especially if they're legacy, they have some cool plays and good gameplay that might be fun to watch when I'm not playing.
I tune in while we play the match and just leave it on my phone in the background and don't really pay attention. There are three of us left by the time the final gen was done and it was, overall, a good match. I literally got every save from hook, and completed two gens on my own and a third with the streamer herself. I get downed during EGC toward the corner of the map literally right next to an exit gate thinking it would be convenient to pick me up and open the door right. So the streamer's friend gets hooked and she opens the door on the exact opposite side of the map from where I am downed, doesn't 99 it whatsoever and acts like she's about to head toward me.
On her stream she goes "oh my god this felix is brain dead why isn't he crawling towards me what a moron." I was fully recovered and right by the door I had started but didn't get to finish, the other door was EXTREMELY far away as it was mother's dwelling. There was no way without tenacity I would've made it even semi close to the door she was on. She just proceeded to complain about how brain dead I was for going down in the "middle of nowhere" when I was literally right by an exit gate we could've got open. The killer was nowhere near me or the hooked survivor.
She just leaves and goes to spectate me and just keeps ranting about just how "braindead" I am, talking the most sh*t despite the fact that I got two gens done on my own the match, looped the killer, and got literally every hook save. It's one thing to say I made a bad play, but to go on an entire tangent about how I'm dogwater at the video game is a bit unnecessary, especially when you're broadcasting this to your viewers.
At the end of the day I usually don't let things like this get under my skin but coming from a seasoned survivor who has played the game for years I will admit that it stung a bit. She even had the LGBTQIA+ tag on her stream and I love supporter streamers who are apart of the community since I am as well. I would've totally loved to follow her stream and watch it when I wasn't playing, I love supporting smaller streamers but after this experience with her I know for a fact that I'll never follow or watch her if that's the content she is producing.
Moral of the story is, critique of other players is fine but when you go out of your way to call somebody frankly childish insults and be incredibly rude to somebody you don't even know don't expect those people to watch your stream. Streamers often gain popularity by just simply advertising in their username, as she did. When you have such hostile energy toward a video game it doesn't make people want to watch, as evident by her 8 viewers. If you want to attract a positive community from the people you play with or get people to watch your content you probably shouldn't be calling potential viewers brain dead because they didn't get to choose the most optimal spot in your eyes to go down to a killer. Sorry for the rant but this experience just made me a bit upset considering it came from somebody so seasoned in playing the game. When I left a "ggs" in her chat she also had nothing to say to me as well despite my own friendly demeanor.
TLDR: If you're trying to gain a following on twitch or any other platform with DBD gameplay, you probably shouldn't call potential viewers of people you play matches with offensive and insulting things. It's your stream, but don't expect to harvest a positive community if you have a hostile and overly insulting demeanor.
I agree with a majority of what your saying, and sadly some bigtime streamers of DBD follow that attitude. Some of them are even Fog Whisperers, ( Not naming of course), and they are meant to represent the positives of this community, not the negatives. Its honestly kinda sad too, its just a game nothing more
