Your exact quote:
"I’ve come across several survs who would rescue me from hook when we’re the last two survs, and not letting me kill myself on hook to give them a chance for the hatch. killing us both in the process. They simply don’t understand these common strats. But its still always a “bruh” moment tbh"
Maybe you should be more specific if you want to school me on being specific.
That was a direct response to a specific user lol. Not to u. So u reaaaaally should be more specific indeed. Not me

If I'm killer I'll slug them till they bleed out.
Dont waste my time ruining a game I had to wait for, used addons in and taking up my time. You wanna be petty I'll show you petty, either DC and get the ban or deal with having to wait.
I'm honestly so sick of my team giving up for no reason, like you went down fast because you was an idiot so you're gonna throw the game? Legit seen my first billy in months to have the game over in 2mins because people gave up straight away... LIKE WHY!
Lol so u get mad because they wasted ur time and in response u waste even more time? Letting them bleed out wastes ur time as much as theirs. U should just get ur kills and move on as quickly as possible if ur time and resources are as valuable as u make them appear to be

I never said I did that. I said if there are two of us left and the other is hooked I will try for the save rather than wait for hatch. Never wrote anything about "hovering around the hook"
U should be more specific cause I was talking about hovering around the hook. And u replied with “I do that all the time”.

I've have legitimatly had a pissed off survivor say in endgame chat "imagine punishing altruism". They complained that it's unfair for the killer to capitalise on 'being a good friend'.
LoL the killer will, and should capitalize on any mistakes the survs make. And so should they I mean ?? If u wanna win thats the way

I can't even get 3 hooks 😂 I know I'm bad at killer against the current mmr, I don't need to be reminded and taunted every game. I've had 5 games today were I got 0 kills and have not noticed a difference in survivors.
I'd rather AFK then get a bully squad
the one time I KNOW I got a low mmr match was when I took a year hiatus from the game lol. I know for a fact that I only got new players that lobby cause they didn’t know how Ghostface power worked so I think the only way to guarantee 100% a low mmr match is by not playing for a long time. other than that it’s kind of a mistery because SBMM is very inconsistent in DBD.
That being said, u shouldn’t set ur mindset to that “I know Im bad as killer”. U can always improve man, YT helps a lot too
-
Bruh if ur having this much trouble with a team of SWF, maybe ur not as high MMR as u think u are lol.
I mean, I’ve see. REAL high MMR players go on looooong win streaks. d3ad plays with nemesis, OTZ has a series dedicated to that. If im not mistakes theres a player with over 80 wins in their belt as blight. So it shouldn’t be that hard

It is getting irritating. As killer I'm seeing so many survs suicide on hook. It decreases my points on a good game denying me BP across the board since you should be interacting with 4 survivors not 3 and several times it has handed me a win I should not have had. Which makes me feel bad for the other survs in the game and tbh gets kinda no boring. No challenge ruining 3 players with 4/5 gens left. Also really sucks when myltiple players decide to do it. Had 3 survs hook suicide in one game before. I let the other go
As survivor it obviously annoys me because it practically throws every game it happens in.
Imo killer should get fully bp for survivors who progress hook stages by attempting unhooks and missing skill checks on struggle phase. Don't want to encourage facecamping of course.
make it harder to suicide. As a killer I'd be absolutely down for attempting to free yourself from hook to not take chunks out of a survivors hook progress. You get 3 attempts to koby yourself then you have to wait for sturggle phase. Would make the game a little more interesting tbf if survivors got the odd self unhook without running deliverance. And makes salty lips and luck builds actually viable, because currently they are a bad idea. They don't increase your chance of unhooking enough to be worth risking progressing a hook stage.
Perhaps reinstate it if there is only 1 surv alive after the hooked surv to allow tactical suicide to spawn hatch.
It’s been said by the devs that no one should be forced to play, so none of ur ideas are in the realm of possibility. If they suicide on hook then so it is. There are several other ways to maximize ur bp gains anyways.
like most things in this game, this too can be solved by simply moving on the next match.

I do that all the time. I do it because I don't give a flying about hatch. I want to give the other person a chance at it. There are instances I won't, say if I'm injured and I know I wouldn't reach the hook anyway but usually I give it a shot.
What do u do? U hover around the hook making the killer camp? Cause ur doing more harm than good if thats the case. That kinda thing kills ur buddy quicker.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/352461/let-s-talk-about-how-altruism-kills
Thats not altruism that's bad survivor paly. Survivors need to learn that unhooks aren't free. Yesterday i had a game where these 2 neas keep running at the person I just hooked right in front of me right after they got unhooked lime I'm not aloud to go after them because they were just unhooked. And another one today were this Jonna was hanging around the hook I was going to like I'm not going to down him because again they were just unhooked so they can do anything they want ans the killer has to ignore them.
U realize those are not mutually exclusive right? That IS altruistic AND a bad strat.
the problem is like u said, people think they can do whatever and its not like that. If u mess up if u get greedy u will get punished. Whether as surv or killer
-
@SoylentPixie said:
Altruism in general does not kill. I literally run a build around safe saves and healing. STUPID altruism kills. Swarming the hook, hook farming, running in without taking out NOED or healing up, these are dumb moves that yes, will get you killed. But even without the perks i run such as kindred if a survivor is smart and patient they can usually get a safe save.
Camping situations are a little more difficult to deal with if you aren't in an SWF, but using just a few braincells should enable two or more to enact a save.
Unless it's a Bubba.
You're on your own with a camping Bubba.
My point is literally abt overly altruistic actions that cost u the game. Hovering around the hook in hordes gives the killer 0 reason to leave. And thats bad for ur team
-
Mouse and Keyboard are far superior in terms of precision than sticks tbh. I play on both platforms and that is so for many fps games as well.
Its all a matter of practice tho
-
@KerJuice said:
I truly believe players who unintentionally throw games by not playing smart (being overly altruistic) do not frequent these forums. They just don’t know any better.
I remember when I would message a few of them, politely explaining why it’s better to take the killer on chase and let someone else go for the save- then I would get hit with a sarcastic “you’re welcome” or some other smart ass reply. I’m “welcome?” Welcome to what?? Only thing I was welcomed to was a good ole farm in front of the killer- that’s who they should have said it to.
Feels bad man. I never message anyone directly cause Chances are I’ll get mad lol.
but I see ur point, I’ve come across several survs who would rescue me from hook when we’re the last two survs, and not letting me kill myself on hook to give them a chance for the hatch. killing us both in the process. They simply don’t understand these common strats. But its still always a “bruh” moment tbh

@Marik1987 said:
Altruism is killers 5th perk. Always, especially in Endgame. 1 guy is on hook and 3 at the exit? Of course the 3 want to save instead of just winning the game, because that would be too easy.
And then, because they are too stupid to do the rescue, the killer ends with a 3K.
Yup yup yup who need blood warden when the survs are this dense? They entrap themselves
-
For surv my favorite build is: Boon Shadow Step, Overcome, Windows of Opportunity and Bite the Bullet.
very fun helps with knowing which pallets u can use, and the killer is always thrown off by the scratch marks.
the “Hoarder” build for surv as well: Ace in the Hole, built to last, plunderers’ instinct and Appraisal.
for killer I’ve been using the same build for my main man Ghostface for the longest time (also got the longest win streak with it)
Barbecue and Chilli, Fire Up, No Way Out and Save the Best. Its not “meta” by any means but its fun and allows u to take ur time with strats. (Dunno if its good on every killer tho)

@Archol123 said:
Yeah sure but its not like it is the same map over and over again, like I said before there are between 40 and 50 maps... if we veto 15-20 there are still 20-30 maps in the pool? And I would rather play on 10 good maps every day than 50 ######### ones... I you look into counter strike or starcraft... there are waaaaaay less maps in the pool, and people still play the game because the maps are actually well designed... And that is the problem with many maps in DBD they might look nice, but they are not fun to play on... You can't blame people for not wanting to play on unfun maps..
Ah ok nono you misunderstood... Every survivor has a list of all maps, even before he enters queue and every killer as well... And just like your perk loadout it gets saved every time, just like in Starcraft 2 you just pick the maps you want to veto and these veto'ed maps just stay veto'ed until you cange it again... So there is literally no extra time you have to spend in the lobby unless you just cannot decide on which map you hate most.
But you don't see the map in my idea XD You just play with a decreased map pool and just like now already you see the map when you load into it.... I think you misunderstood me my points there, wasn't clear enough I guess...
Bruh, theres like 17 maps in the game currently lol. If u decrease the pool you WILL get the same maps over and over. Ur thinking of “variations”, theres several more variations of layout but only 17 maps overall. So the problem stil remains, same maps over and over. No diversity of maps for anyone.
oh ok, i see what u mean, thats better tbh. Choosing beforehand is better but, like I said, its not healthy to have the same map pool over and over. Both killers and survs should have a decent map knowledge to get around to chase and get chased.
Also, devs put a lot of effort into those maps for us to just “veto” them. We should learn them instead of avoiding for no reason

I mean... isn't it good to play on rather the same 20 maps over and over because all the other maps are hated? Maybe that's the problem itself... some maps are just so terrible for at least one side that nobody wants to play them... I think that's a good thing that people would not have to play those.
I don't think that is an issue either because you have a limited amount of vetos and after a minute you're either loading into the game or have to leave the lobby... So unless I got you wrong on that one? I don't see how that is a problem... So maybe explain it differently? Because that's the same as saying there are too many perks in the game people just keep changing them so you spend more time in the lobby ...
People are already quitting on some maps or not playing them at all, but yeah i agree some builds that need a specific map are just not gonna work... That's the one point I admit is problematic.. But then again every single T1 Myers in Lerys I went against had basically at least 1 dc anyway... so yeah :/
It is bad for the game overall, like ??? No diversity is not healthy for the game at all. It would be like logging into DBD right after the Haddonfield rework when all u would see was Legion on Haddonfield all week. It is not optimal nor healthy.
so ur saying it would be the same amount of time to choose ur build AND vote and veto a map? Again, not optimal, realistically it would have to increase the lobby time to do all that, specially if everyone could veto at least once. And even if that was the case, the Killer is alone, to be fair the Killer would have at least 4 vetoes. Can u see how you would need more lobby time? Time inefficient.
and yes people do quit but suffer a dc penalty, there is no penalty for quitting while in lobby. If u could see the map and quit without penalty it would be a mess with no repercussions.
-
Just kick it lol. Also u dont “need” to do anything.
-
@Archol123 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3240192#Comment_3240192
That's basically why I want a veto system.. as both sides will vote out the most annoying maps for them leaving the rather balanced ones left... You could even argue about give the killer the same amount of vetos as all survivors togehter for that purpose...
But that would only create new problems. First being the same maps over and over and over as some maps are hated all around. Second being even longer wait time in the game lobby for basically nothing as people would keep vetoing everything.
Not to mention people quitting for not getting their way, meaning requeues. I mean, if I play infinite tier one Myers in Mother Dwelling I’d seriously consider quitting the match before loading lol
-
I agree tbh. Myers and Trapper are the most outdated killers in game currently. The game has evolved into a state where its not as immersive as it was back in the day.
then hiding was an actual playstyle, as even the grass was thicker and the maps were darker. Today is more chase oriented. Making trapper clunky af to play with.
myers is only playable if u use one of his gimmicky builds, otherwise he’s just a weaker Ghostface.
-
Wouldn’t work cause this is a asymmetrical game. There are maps that are good for surv, some neutral, and some good for Killer. One side will NEVER choose a map that benefits the other side. With good reason lol
not to mention it would 100% defeat the purpose of map offerings. All maps should just be all neutral tbh
-
Depends on ur play style but I recommend easy M1 killers cause they’ll help you with game sense and the basics of playing Killer.
doc, wraith and Clown are fairly easy.
Legion is a very nice second option as his power is easy to learn. Also Bubba.
DONT PLAY TRAPPER!
weakest killer in game, too gimmicky as the setup tales a while, and the payoff us laughable
-
So did old Dead Hard. The problem with her are her addons, they create a huge disparity between herself basekit and most importantly her Killer counterparts.
yall thinking her busted addons only affect survs’ performance and not other killers as well.

ah yes bp matters more than actual fair and challenge games for people who want it, sigh.
Grades have nothing to do with that. The only thing the grades dictate are the amount of BPs ur gonna get by the end of the grading period.
now with that being said, SBMM in dbd is #########. No one gets someone on their level to play with OR against. I’ve said that countless times in here but it’s still ######### so
-
U gotta look if a few things are right:
internet connection is not blocked by something called “Teredo”, u can go to settings and run a network diagnosis to see if u have a problem with ur Teredo.
see if ur NAT type is “open” (also by running a diagnosis”
See if ur profile has Live Gold
most of times its the teredo tbh

Eh a mechanic that literally just keeps 2 survivors invincible doesn't seem like a good mechanic either. Also if I recall correctly the devs even considered it an exploit as thats not what they intended for lockers to be used like.
I dont like this mechanic as well. For the same reason I dont like map offerings tbh. It can be exploited very easily. Even after u learn the counterplays having to power through locker saves is so “meh” gameplay wise

yeah thanks for being a good bro, there are many people that doesnt see the things on the forum. I was just trying to have an casual match other killers would be way more effective.
I just want to people to know that when they dont see an twins or a wraith in the lobbies are because of those things
no worries, that’s what we’re here for. I know man, the thing about playing killer is that ur always alone u know, so its harder to learn some things and to get more experienced as well. Cause like, if u make a mistake there are 4 people that can take advantage of that mistake. While when a surv makes a mistake there are other 3 to help fix that lol.
but seriously tho, keep trying to get better as killer, you’ll find its a more fun and more rewarding role. have fun is the most important tbh. Otherwise you’ll burn out real quick

Again, still not a free kill. You need to get off your backside and do something to make it work. You can laugh at me all you want, but these are how the perks work. NOED only works in end game, is removable, and does nothing to an already injured person. These are facts, not opinions.
Oh yeah, its super counter intuitive for a killer to get into a chase with any surv. I mean, ur faster and can down in one hit BUT u have to chase I mean??? What is the killer supposed to do next? Score a hit? where does it end? Where is the line?
it is free as long as u dont have to do ANYTHING outside what is expected of u. Period.
u know u could say the same about DH u know? U still need to be injured to proc and u still have to wait 40 secs standing still to recharge. Yet, its common sense it was an unbalanced perk. These are facts my brother

How are people ever gonna improve if they always rely on noed? That perk needs to be removed/reworked so that you actually worked for the kill like no way out. I don't even use noed because there are so many better perks out there that's can slow down gens and stuff, especially with the new update, Thanatophobia, gift of pain, pentimento and deadlock. We all are gonna have a hell of a time🤣
Right? Honestly I hate these crutch perks so much. Also pentimento ftw my brother. Combo it with undying or hunted grounds u got urself a hell of a fun time amirite

I want you to read that first sentence again. SLOWLY.
"Explain to me how downing a surv with one hit and no downside is not a free kill?"
It wasn't free. Free would be if I got up to pee and came back and someone is dead. You have to win a chase and nail that hit to get that down. Which already doesn't mean anything if they were already injured because they would have already gone down ANYWAY. NOED doesn't make heads spontaneously explode with "free kills". Not to mention a down isn't a kill. A kill requires three hook states (or two and a Mori).
No Way Out can buy you just as much extra end game time as NOED, potentially a LOT MORE if NOED is destroyed quickly, which is now very likely with the growing aura.
Omg hahahahaha bro ur literally faster with noed, which guarantees a hit. It literally is a free kill, cause u didn’t win the chase out of skill, but out of a crutch. Same as DHing to a pallet.
Every single instadown killer power has a skill or learning curve, noed is simply a crutch that bypasses that. And honestly what have u been doing all game? I mean its endgame if u didn’t get at least on hook stage on every surv this would be a more a skill issue than anything else.
im not talking about “if”s bro. If that were the case it would be a much more used perk than noed
-

Embarrassing is thinking there is a such thing as a "free kill".
In no way are those two perks anything alike.
NOED isn't a "You suck at killer" perk. It's an endgame perk, same as No Way Out or Remember Me. Most perks in the game can vaguely be called a "second chance" perk. That doesn't make them equivalents.
Explain to me how is downing a surv with one hit and no downside is not a free kill? How does no way out or remember me give u the same advantage as NOED? U still have to hit the survivors twice amd ur still slower. And please tell me how is DH on the same level as Lithe or SB?

You clearly have never followed my post history.
I'm a SURVIVOR MAIN.
And yes, I play both.
That doesn't mean the game isn't literally a two sided PvP game. And no, NOED and DH are not equivalents. One is a chase perk that can be used several times a match, the other is an endgame perk that rats itself out on first use and can be cleansed.
You cannot remove Dead Hard from the game.
The only thing they have in common is they are perks.
Yeah clearly a surv main sure. Not at all biased sure.
Bro, DH has a 40 sec cooldown lmao. As long as the totem is not cleansed u can use it many times over with no cooldown. they are exactly equivalents, both existed to give second chances. U did poorly during the chase? good heres a pallet. U suck at killer? Good here a free kill.

Also, you cannot compare Dead Hard, a perk appearing multiple times in EVERY SINGLE MATCH, to one Killer.

I tried everything i could think while it was happenning, i couldnt bait the catch because they were very patient, i couldnt look for saviors because they hide pretty far away and on safe places.
3 guys do this while 1 is on gens so you have time but not a lot. They also dont use the good pallets early, when injured they dead hard to a locker if they do a mistake, and one always have vigil to recover faster.
I tried to hurt all of them to hear the savior moans but they use iron will so you cant find them, if you go too far from the locker after the gen guy or one of the saviors they will just loop and dead hard to a locker again.
Pretty messed up, cant counter whitout perks
It is pretty messed up I know. But dont worry man, it takes time to learn this stuff u know, the counterplays and such. Also, what I like to do in cases like that is “force” a 3gen. Cause as U said one of them might be on the gen, so patrol the gens and forget about the survs u know. They WILL have to go for gens eventually and that way is easier to capitalize on their mistakes.
U faced a top tier team I take it, and as a M1 killer. Don’t expect to just be able to counter them perfectly right away. Dont worry bro, dont let bad experiences ruin ur game. Just hop on the next match and try different strats when u are faced with this kinda bs.

Bubba is worthwhile, he annihilates pallets and has the ability to insure a kill. What's not worthwhile about that?
no slowdown, no chase potential. Even with bamboozle. His shortcomings are waaaaay more accentuated than his strengths.
thats the primary reason why bubba mains face camp. I mean, u have to face camp for a false sense of skill. If he were any good he would be alongside the top dogs 👀

Just see at the start of the video, its a squad team they get into lockers on corners because others can Flashlight save, Yoichi does it at the start to avoid get downed, i go after dwight hoping to down him but he reaches a locker and they do the save, this happened the entire match, 3 guys lockering and one on gens.
Wraith was level 25 because of the new prestige, any counterplay? i dont want to get in this situation again.
Oh I see what u mean, yeah I know this strat. Some swf tried it on my GF on Dead Dawg the other day. Its a pretty solid strat because it prevents a down, so the only thing u can do is bait it out, and then injure the surv going for the save. Injured survs are less likely to try risky strats, specially since u have PWYF u should use that to ur advantage.
dont rush bro, I know it’s counter intuitive, but take ur time u know, cause if u keep in mind that: if all of them are nearby, there’s no one doing gens. If no one is doing gens u have aaaaaall the time u need.

I reckon if the devs removed his ability to camp, nobody would play him as much
Well maybe u could learn a worthwhile killer then 👀

i am only seeing perk counterplay, is there any way to avoid locker savings just like playing?, its safe to a unbereable point, the survivors have a lot of time to come out with the beam, even if you are expecting it you cant chase the saver because the locker guy will just get out and the other one will be in the safest spot possible
U cant perform beamer save on a Lightborn kiler. ds is not gonna be an issue anymore if someone hops into a locker but as of right now U got be smart when to eat the DS and when to leave. After all its only 60 secs.
a good chunk of playing killer is choosing ur battles. If an Injured surv is being too cooky always assume they have ds and go after someone else. Because the eagerness to get the kill might be ur downfall.
Edit: Also, keep in mind that SWF are ALWAYS altruistic af, so u can always bait a pickup or locker grab and wait for them to reveal their location, from there u can either hit and run back to the other surv or commit if u know they are in a bad spot

The collective idea that Survivors can tell Killers who to play, how to play, and WHEN to play.... but everything Survivors do is 100% legit and "just part of the game".
You are not the first person to make this thread whining about Bubba. It's pretty much core to the Survivor community at this point.
Because its an issue. Lol same as Killer mains whining about dead hard a while back. If u actually think facecamping a hook is anywhere near healthy gameplay to anyone u should try and develop some game sense lmao
also, plz dont make this a “us vs them” issue. It’s the most played out discourse in here

Ghosty - Father Campbells Chapel, Crotus Penn and RPD
so many places to lean I love it.
Nurse - Midwich and Coal Tower

1st of all facecamp was removed, this is what people call camping... 2nd you have already a counter: take kindred and do generators (as solo survivor this isn't a problem for me, unless the other survivor were dumb enough to reward that kind of gameplay... in those cases i can always play for the hatch)
Facecamping was not removed in the slightest lmao I can say “look we fixed face campinng. We removed the impossibility of blocking a unhook therefore face camping is eradicated yay”, but as long as a instadown killer can stand close enough to impede a save its still Face Camping, 2 or 3 meters added distance doesnt change that

I mean there are no infinites there anymore. Even tho there are still good loops it is much more manageable to catch up to survs (specially with the new holes on the walls)
so yeah, Haddonfield is much better
