  • I think STBFL is good on m1 killers without reliable access to instant down methods.

It have nice synergies with on hit perks and powers and really can help in a clutch.

Non hitting the obsession isn't something I would recommend, but usually you either hook the obsession first or last, but I would get out of the mindset, never hitting the obsession.

again, these options don’t always work. if it did work, the killer is probably a potato anyways. why would someone swap out their place with you on hook? regardless, it doesn’t help at all.

with the gens, if the killer hooks in close proximity to 3 gens, those gens don’t get done and one person is already dead because of camping. easy 4k if done right, but extremely unfair method.

May I ask you, what Perks did you run and how did the killer managed to down you before any gens are getting done?

  • DBD is an asymmetrical game. So it is a 4v1 with the 1 killer in the power role. (In theory)

The spirit of the game is to strike a balance in cooperation and selling out when you could escape the match.

You want to do gens asap, if the killer comes, you want to be the one that's better then the other survivors so they get caught and at some point you go save them, because you need the numbers to occupy the killer from not killing you. Because 1v1 you will lose eventually.

Naturally in the end you want to save as many as possible. But if it is too risky or too late...sorry mate, better luck next time.

  • I could see an argument for deactivating DS if another survivor gets downed and hooked before the time is up, I would even let you keep the remaining time on DS for additional tries, as long the killer isn't tunneling.

If he is tunneling you, and you hop in a locker (hopefully with a stacked Inner Strength and Head-on), more power to you!

But if you get off the hook, get fully healed, someone else get chased and hooked. You then get chased and downed again and still have DS...that's not okay.

there isn’t counterplay in all cases, such as what @Desolate_Sands said. with ruin and thanatophobia, a good hook location and facecamping, a killer is guaranteed to win. he just needs to get 1 survivor out of the way and hook near several gens, and it’s 100% the killer wins. facecamping also makes BT useless since the killer can grab you off hook.

It funny how you ignore that no one did any gens.

You can go up to the hook, let the killer hit you, and during his animation lock you can unhook someone. You even can bait the hit by faking the unhook.

A coordinated team even can blind the killer and then unhook.

You either don't know these options or are ignoring them.

  • I see the current BT superior and encourage smart team play.

If you can't rely on other to have BT, gamble that the killer don't have Franklin's and grab a reworked Medkit. As long the killer is not right next to the hook, when you get unhooked, you can pop your Medkit and be save for the same amount of time.

So we have access to both options.

  • The statement is true. You lose, when you focus to much in one chase and don't pressure the entire team.

Yes, some killer really could need some help with map mobility, reduced setup time etc. The nice thing about DBD is, the longer the game is alive, we get more option to counter some weaknesses of the killer. Corrupt Intervention, Ruin, etc. are perks that can buy you enough time to get your setup and killer rolling.

Losing 1-2 gens is not the end of the world, if in exchange you get everyone injured and at least one survivor hooked at all times.

That will force the survivors to unhook and heal, what leaves no one to actually do gens.

Find survivors fast, hurt them fast, down them fast. Find a killer that clicks with you and abuse his playstyle for your fun.

so you’re saying that it’s okay to completely ruin a game for SOLO survivors in such an unethical way? when the survivors did nothing wrong? and you’re supporting that?

    wow.

There is nothing unethical to try to win within the games boundaries.

Does it suck for the survivor? Yes.

    Does it have counterplay? Plenty.

5 gens up means, the survivor was found first and downed really fast. So he should pay more attention (Spine Chill?) or get better during Chases.

I would seek the blame with my other teammates. If I looped the killer, got downed and hooked and none of them got a single gen done...that's not good.

If they do whatever, don't push gens to lure the killer, swarm the hook for an entire minute and go for unsafe unhooks without BT, they are really to blame.

The killer in OPs story did read the state of the game well and played accordingly. He baited the hook and let the overaltruistic team play themselves. I would call that smart.

You are not entitled to a save unhook.

We are provided with plenty of options to increase the odds.

About the challenge, there are some challenges, that requires to sacrifice a certain number of survivors.

If that survivor happen to be the last sacrifice that killer needed, he just made sure to 100% get the challenge done.

Stop blaming the killer and start asking yourself, what options and tools are provided. What can you actively do to increase your fun and success in DBD.

Crying in the forum for a ban or nerf for camping is just immature, silly and ultimately pointless.

Does it suck? Yes, a lot actually. But it's 2 min tops. If you can't hold it for 2 min, you got other problems.

If you still struggle to understand why camping is in the game, try killer for a change and you will learn a lot about the game.

I wish you still the best of fun in the fog!

  • Sorry Buddy, bad luck. Move on.

If a killer can get a survivor out of the game, within a minute and 5 gens still up? Bravo! Well done, now they are only 3 survivors some probably injured and 5 gens to go. Good win conditions.

If you are concerned with face camping run a combination or all of these perk: DS, Deliverance, Unbreakable, DH. Best don't get downed first. Successfully unhook someone else and you are good to go. Medkit can help too.

    Good luck next time.

You are the type of person to play for performance. Which is not bad at all. I do love me some Plauge. But this is for people who want to play and have fun as legion while being effective. There is no doubt that plague can do better than legion but overall, people like playing legion because he is fun to play as. It is fun to run around stabbing people at fast speeds. While you are absolutely right, I'm talking from a fun/effective strat than pure effectiveness. If you're looking for straight up effectiveness and don't really care for the fun then legion isn't for you.

Tbh I think the plague can be boring at times anyway

    Edit:Spelling

Absolutely! I love play for performance and get the best out of myself. That's why I love Hag!

She challenge my planning ahead and outsmarting the survivors. The stats showed, that she is a tad hard to play, but those who know what to do, are pretty deadly =)

I enjoy the strategic killers and control and naturally wish, there would be more of them.

Legion can be fun, but to me he lacks that oomph to seal the deal.

Running around and slowing down the game might be fun for some people, but stacking slowdown perks upon slowdown add-ons just don't do it for me, and when I play as a survivor, it's just annoying.

What if we would give the Legion Oblivious during FF, would this be too strong or in line with Ghostface, Wraith and Pig? I think they could be a cool stealth killer and FF don't down you immediately so it would be not that bad.

    What do you think?

    Trapping those items :D

Exactly! And I found out, that smacking someone with a flashlight, toolbox or Medkit really slows down the game and messes with the survivors strategy.

Like, he I play mechanic and rush gens...oh...now I don't have my toolbox and I am forced to loop...I didn't sign up for this.

Or, I take all the nice meta perks and take a Medkit, so I don't need self-care or other teammates! Omg I lost my Medkit, now who can heal me? Panic!

And this kind of panic I love as a Hag, they start to run around, being headless and reckless and running straight into my web of traps.

It's like in real life, everyone has a battle plan until they get hit in the face. *evil grin*

  • M&A and Franklin's on my Hag.

I see a lot of people complaining about swf teams but I never got why.

Would like to hear some opinions on them.

The frustration playing against good SWFs comes from not knowing that they are SWFs to begin with and the advantage voice can give.

It's a different game if you play against 4 solos, even good ones and a good SWF team.

They can quadruple any information perk, substitute a lot of aura and information perks with their voice and there is nothing you can do about.

Voice can give you access to about 19 perks plus the 4 you are running to maximize your survivability. They can coordinate hook saves, sabo, flashlights and bodyblocks. The can be more efficient with gen repairs etc. That can catch the killer off guard and can be frustrating. Especially if you play a lower tier killer with less option to effectively pressure the survivors. It's a lot more stressful, unfun and you are under more time pressure than usual.

Even as solo survivor if you are with a 2 or 3 man SWF it can be, that they will sandbag you for their success and won't rescue you from the hook, especially if the killer is camping. They will just sacrifice you.

On the other side they tend to be over altruistic towards each other, what can result in stupid plays that will cost you the game.

You never know before hand if you will face a challenging SWF or not and have to come prepared no matter what. And a sweaty killer with strongest add-ons can ruin the fun for the average dbd-player all because of SWFs.

  • As a killer you have a bit more freedom to define your own fun.

You really can play, meme or rp all you want and nobody can stop you.

But as survivor you compete with 3 others, who may have different definition of fun and winning. That's where most of the frustration lies.

If you just play item collector, go in with Plunder's, Ace and a White Ward you can get your value out of the match. To you it's fun and BP wise it's smart. But all the time you "waste" searching chests and 2 perk slots that don't help you survive and/or do gens better hinders other survivors who just want to escape asap.

You may have a blast but in their eyes you ruin their game...

    That's DBD...

  • Can you please explain how you manage to be worse on a killer with build in tracking via blood orbs, Instant down, pallet shred and map mobility is worse than clown or legion?

He either definitely don't fit your playstyle or you didn't figured out yet what perks to use and what's his playstyle.

  • @TruffleTurtle said:

I think alot of people are missing the point I was making. I never said use pins to make him good. I suggested if u wanted to go for a new slowdown, you could try the pins.

People who are saying you can loop the legion without needing to mend, you wouldnt have to mend if he was in a chase before the change so that argument is stupid and if you are being chased that long then there is a problem with the player.

All I'm saying is that if you build them right they can apply good pressure. People dont wanna mend? Ez thanatophobia stacks. Bamboozle and fire up are interesting on him due to the huge speed he can get. Although his old slowdown build is gone it's not all that he has. If you can take advantage of the speed buff and vaulting, you will understand how much better you can perform as him

Or just play Plague...same benefits, without add-on, indefinitely not only 60s and if they cleanse you get a lethal range attack.

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/888886#Comment_888886

How is this any different than before? If you're looping Legion, you're in their terror radius, so you didn't have to mend anyway.

Now with Adrenaline you don't have to mend at all, maybe even with Second Wind. You just can run around, cleanse totems, do gens or go toward Exit Gates outside of the Legions TR and don't have to care at all. So at some point, when 1-2 gens are left, Legion basically has no power than losing the ability to see scratchmarks and move a bit faster and vault pallets. (BTW, if he don't run Iri Button those pallets can be put up again now with the new perk)

  • You want to tell me it isn't worse that now I can loop the legion the entire game without have to mend?

If 1-2 gens are done I can loop a legion for the rest of the game if he chases me, then my Adrenaline pops and I didn't even had to mend once.

I can easily cleanse a totem while in DW and as long you can manage an m1 killer, the Legion is a killer without a power.

The new Oni should have been the Legion rework.

Getting in a Feral Frenzy after hitting enough survivors, going into a Bloodrage and downing people left and right.

The Oni moves faster then FF, has an Instant Down, breaks pallets without an add-on and can get stunned without losing his power.

What is the selling point of the Legion at this moment?

  • First, letting everyone get slugged is a misplay by the survivors.

If slugging is a concern you can run Unbreakable or go balls deep with No Mither.

The game is not taken hostage, it will end when everyone bleed out or the last escaped through the hatch. (Still a possibility)

Unfun? Yes. But there are enough thing we can do against it.

I still would report the killer, if he does this every match and never hooks survivors for unsportsmanlike behavior so the support can take a look.

But slugging on itself is a completely viable strategy and sometimes even required.

  • @FriendlyGuy said:

Em...kind sir, ever heard of a perk called "Spine Chill"?

It may seems very futuristic for you, but with that perk you'll be able to spot GF BEFORE HE'S EVEN IN LoS. Boom!

Let them, some people love to live in their bubble and loves to complain.

How dare you to suggest them to adapt and alter their favorite playstyle? You are a true monster! ;)

Every killer has clear weaknesses and you would know them, if you just play them a bit or inform yourself. But for many? Loud minority? this is too much to ask.

With game knowledge, halfway decent loop capabilities and map awareness you can face every killer. Some easier some provide a challenge, but none are uncountable.

  • Myers hands down.

Not only do he come with amazing Perks, his versatile add-on pool allows for a great variety of playstyles and fun interactions.

Not only can you spook survivors in t1, in t3 everyone hears his music and know, the game is on.

You can be sneaky, you can be brutal, you even can straight up murder them if you are lucky enough. If the new Oni Perk gets through, his stalking power goes through the roof!

You will guaranteed have a lot of fun playing and experimenting with Myers.

  • I personally don't like grind challenges.

It's no real expression of skill or representative for the lore.

I liked the Challenges in the old Dynasty Warriors games, where you had to recreate the battle to unlock the best weapons and horses.

To me the archive is like the steam achievements plus.

  • The Hag was the reason I initially picked up the game and ever since she is my most beloved killer.

She has a very strategical playstyle and cannot simply run down the survivors like a hillbilly. (good hillbilly still needs skill and his chainsaw jumps, curves and flicks are amazing to pull off!)

You need to lay out your web, understand how the survivors will react and lure them into your web.

That's not everyone's favorite playstyle, plus she needs some set up time.

  • @Almo said:

What usually happens with SWF is that they get super-altruistic and refuse to leave the match unless they can get everyone out. Only at very high ranks and with SWFs that play together a lot is there much of a benefit in terms of escape rate.

That does not mean we don't want to do some things to make the solo experience better. As someone else pointed out, that's the reason for the Kindred buff.

Perhaps escape rate isn't the right metric, as SWFs can be more annoying to play against even if they don't necessarily escape.

Nicely said Almo, the issue is less the escape rate is more the experience during the trial.

As solo survivor as well as killer playing with/against SWF feels alienating and to some a degree annihilating. I don't think the issue lies with the SWF themselves or that they are coordinating over voice. My observation showed me, that if I am with or against SWF they tend to act and react differently then the usual game of DBD. This difference makes it really hard to play into accordingly.

If we are talking about real red rank SWF that playing to win, they are nails! It's amazing to watch them or be part of such a unit, but a hell to face them.

Buff solos and adjust the killers, there is not much else we could do.

    Keep up the good work.

  • If you really argue that "I am just playing a sociopathic killer" is a free pass to be a jerk, you just are that, a jerk.

Otherwise you really should seek immediate clinical help!

No matter what multiplayer game you are playing, you still interact with other people and they deserve a certain decency and respect.

And don't come with the BS of "you have to earn respect", I am talking about the base respect that every human being deserves.

  • Well, as the Devs recently confirmed. If enough people complaining loud enough, they will take a look. So let this daily posts continue. Sadly.

  • Lisa: Calm down. You will get them and eat there goddamn liver.

Stealth doesn't actually counter every killer equally.

Slow killers, like Nurse, Spirit, and Huntress (less Hag but I'll get into that) are more countered by stealth than normal speed killers like Billy. If you hide in an area, a Billy can more thoroughly search the area in the same time frame because of his faster movement. He also isn't as susceptible to stealth jukes where you may be hiding on the other side of a window and slow vault as he passes around the corner. Or even that you walk around some LOS blocker as he searches. He is more likely to see you making these jukes because he is faster. By contrast Spirit (who people have such a problem with apparently) can be more easily stealth juked because it's much easier to walk around a LOS blocker or slow vault a window without her seeing it. Nurse is the MOST effected by stealth, which is why the meta builds on her revolve around tracking perks.

And Whispers is anti-stealth yes, but not infallible. If you have a survivor hooked or slugged nearby it's not going to help. It will give you an idea where to look, or let you know that you're not chasing your own tail sometimes, but it won't actually help you find the survivor faster if they know how to stay on the move and break LOS. Again, normal speed killers can take full advantage of Whispers due to their ability to search an area faster. But slow killers can still be stealth juked, and in some cases Whispers can cause a killer to was a ton of time looking for you.

Now Hag is a bit of an exception because she can place traps in spots where she searched and unless you have Urban Evasion it will be hard to stealth juke her without settting off the trap. Still same rules apply, she just has an option to counter stealth no other slow killers have.

Also Doctor is completely anti-stealth. Unless you have Calm Spirit and Distortion (to avoid aura read add-ons) he can still find you. And even then, his illusion Docs can reveal your position. Granted Doc isn't a top tier killer, but he does make stealth pretty much impossible. Unless you want to hide lockers all game at which point you are doing a whole lot of nothing to progress your escape.

This is why it bugs me when people say "stealth isn't a real counter". It is. If you bait a killer to search for you and waste time, that's as good as wasting time in a chase. If they are checking some jungle gym tile and you walk away without being seen, then they are just looking for nothing. As a Spirit main I can confirm that the majority of times when I lose a game it's because of strong stealth players. The rest of the times is because of survivors that actually know what to do in a chase against Spirit, but those are honestly rare. But I mean, you can't get chased and die if you never get found. And I've won games myself as survivor purely from strong stealth plays. It is indeed a valid counter and anyone that says otherwise honestly, probably just sucks at doing it. Like I can't tell you how often I find survivors, usually a p3 Claud, just hiding in a corner or a bush thinking I'm blind. That's not stealth play. That's hoping the killer is too blind and/or too stupid to think you might be hiding there. I also don't consider locker usage to be proper stealth play since you are immobile. All it takes is for the killer to have a "hunch" you are in a locker, at which point you are screwed. If you exit the locker at this point, you will be seen or heard almost definitely. Locker stealth should be used sparingly. I personally only use it if I have to pee mid-game or feed my cat or something.

So if stealth is a valid counter to wait out a power (which is is for Myers and Plague) then it should be a valid counter to Oni as well (assuming it works as well, if it doesn't that's a different story).

All that said, I don't have the PTB I can't play as or against this killer therefore I can't really form an opinion about what kind of counters he has. Maybe he needs some nerfs to make him better to play against, but again I don't know. Have to play it myself to find out. Can't rely on testimony of anyone, especially after only 3 days, and videos don't really paint a great image since the PTB is all mixed ranks and I'm not the one in control.

One last thing... I see a lot of parroting in this thread. I know Scott and Tofu just put out videos about this, but you are literally just repeating what they said. Maybe that adds credence to their claims, but it's hard to read through this thread without thinking to myself "this guy has absolutely 0 opinions of his own and just repeats things he heard another player say". Sorry but that's how it comes off, maybe you are genuine... but dude it's like the EXACT wording Scott used in his video. Like... c'mon.

I just played and tested it on the PTB, I know I am not the best survivor in the world, but pretty decent. I mainly play Hag but also other killers and with good headphones and a certain understanding how survivors play, that's why I ever so often weave in a survivor play to understand them better, their pathing and how I perceive the game from the survivors side, I can counter them fairly well.

Maybe after 2 days it is too early to cast a verdict, but so far I find it pretty hard to counter a good Oni, not someone who just figure out how he works.

As Oni I find it fairly well to find my first survivor and with his power and Infectious Fright it is disgusting how fast you can snowball (there goes your stealth right out the window, unless you bring Calm Spirit and or Iron Will) and if you get hit or heal someone, there will be a nice path of blood orbs towards you.

Even if you play stealthy, you still need to do gens, unhook or in the end either get the hatch or open the gates. So far I could always find everyone.

I didn't see those videos so far, but if multiple players come to the same conclusion, maybe there is some truth in it?

  • @Blueberry said:

Literally the exact same counter as almost every other killer on the entire roster...looping.

Not really. Did you played against the Oni on PTB? Looping during his powers isn't viable. He is too mobile, one shots pallets and yourself if he hits you.

Myers M1 and Leatherface chainsaw are similar, just stealth yourself and heal up I guess? Still trying to find counters.

Against Myers I can deny his stalk or delay it, no such thing against the Oni. And against Myers you still can use pallets, windows and loops, you just have to drop and leave earlier.

And a Hillbilly can be juked, windows and some sharp corners also helps you against a Hillbilly. But it is hard, I admit.

from what iv'e seen stealth is like really good at him since if you just wait out the power then your fine but yeah your right there isn't any like chase counter play also id wait a bit to see what people come up with instead of complaining about give it a month or two

Well, stealth almost counters every killer, but perks like Whispers counters stealth strongly, so in the end you are only save within a locker...but those damn crows! 😉

  • You are asking them to shoot their cash cow? Not gonna happen. We tried it multiple times before.

They cannot nerf SWF, because no one can be punished for playing with friends. Voice cannot be shut down, because in the extreme they are in the same room.

Alternatives would be buffing solos, but that would mean absolutely break the game. And BHVR don't have the capacity or the will to completely redesign their game.

As long enough players still play killer against SWFs, there will never be a change.

And so long there is more than enough killer players out there and a mass DC like the survivors pull off in the past against unfavorable killers isn't happening. (Because you had to DC every other game, what would get you banned in no time).

Voice, not a SWF exclusive thing may I remind you, can substitute up to 19 perks. So giving every survivor 19+4 perks would be mental and they would have to rework or change up to 19 perks.

If you don't believe me, just open up the perk list for survivors and ask yourself, can I achieve a similar effect with voice or sharing the effect, without everyone equipping it?

  • I still believe, the devs should publish a killer counter guide before nerfing anymore killers.

  • The Oni is an ancestor of the spirit. He plays like a bloodfueled hillbilly with Windows of Opportunities for killers, if you don't heal you lose your Exhaustion and start bleeding like a pig when the killer hooks someone and piss the killer of by stunning or blinding him and you become his new Obsession with Oblivious on top.

Survivor get I don't bleed, why don't we put the pallets back up? and I got you fam! Just wiggle harder I am here for you!

If we want to bring realism into this, it's not very realistic to step in a bear trap, free yourself, then proceed to jump out of a second story window multiple times without even being phased by the fall. Gameplay comes before realism.

No @Peanits let's enable a realism mode, just for fun. Let them get dizzy and exhausted when getting stabbed and losing blood and collapsing from bloodlost. Let the meathooks and chainsaws permanently cripple and kill the survivors.

Just imagine that your skillchecks get more and more often and difficult because you are so much on pain and lightheaded from all the bloodlost. Let them get broken legs from stepping in a frickin beartrap. Your vision gets void of any colour and you get tunnel vision. And btw change the camera of the survivors to 1st person for the extra realism. I am sure they will appreciate it.

  • Well, you can check their profile and friendlist. If they are on a friendlist or all private the chance, that you are facing SWF is almost guarantee.

I always love those in the post game chat, denying to play SWF and then admitting after pointing out their friendlist.

Why would you playing with friends if you just want to mess with the killer? And intentionally messing with a killer is bullying.

  • @Peanits said:

How do you suggest we detect who's in voice chat and who's not? Scanning through someone's PC to see what programs they're using or monitoring their microphone is usually frowned upon, and it wouldn't stop you from whipping out your phone to voice chat or sitting in the same room as someone.

In that case you have to assume everyone is using voice or is able to do so and decides deliberately against using it. So you, as the devs need to take this into consideration when balancing and changing the game. Right now the game is NOT balanced around the usage of voice, despite enough evidence that the use of voice is easily accessible and widely used. The usage of voice combines a large numbers of perks without the required perk slot used and allows informational perks be shared with all survivors within the voice.

Voice also cancels perks and powers of killers without the killer have any option to knowing it in advance so killers always have to assume that voice is within the game and cannot use certain perks and powers to their fullest.

If you need a list of all the perks, there are plenty of posts about this already in this forum, but I would provide you the links if you wish so.

  • Why is spirit not on the list?

  • There is already a sound queue and her shards glowing when phasing and her hair resets.

    What do you want?

    A giant disco ball?

  • Yeah, kill a survivor challenge is so much fun and interactive! And when they bring a red Mori you all gonna get killed because of the challenge! How fun!

  • It's just normal and with a game design like DBD inevitable.

Just think of it. After 3 years of gaming you will have so much stuff laying around, Moris and BS, and the only time really messing with them, without risking your rank or BP is during rank reset.

Right now there is not much to do, no new killer or survivor to grind BP for, no reason to sweaty rank up, besides your own ego. Our playerbase isn't that large and thanks to the incredibly gigantic grindwall, new players are discouraged to pick up the game. So this sort of play will become standard within a few month, more people finish the rift and have nothing else to do than to meme, tunnel and camp.

Whaaat? A potential way for bhvr to lose money?? This will get fixed faster than you can blink.

That's what I am talking about! Just imagine a bug free game!

It sounds good but do we really need developers to waste time programming code for that to happen when they could be working on ways to fix the real problem and just speed up matchmaking?

Well if there is an incentive to shorten matchmaking time they probably will. But right now, it seems, they are more motivated to explore additional revenue streams.

Because people need to stop being snowflakes and thicken their skin. It's just words. We don't need language policing. People should be able to say whatever they want to say.

I have nothing against free speech, but you still should be respectful towards each other and responsible with your words.

You are playing a game. Games should spark joy and fun.

Insulting, threatening and defamation should not be part of the game.

Alright, I've got around 800 hours in this game and manage to hit red ranks in killer after rank resets when I get the chance to play the game. I try to play both sides equally but recently I've started playing killer more often and the difference between swf survivors and solo survivors is crazy.

For solo survivor games, I can hook everyone twice before killing them off with time to spare on the gens but when it comes to SWF I have to sweat to even get a bunch of hooks in a row before getting genrushed to oblivion. The organisation of SWFs is something that cannot be matched by solo survivor groups and I'm having trouble having fun against SWF's because of the sweat.

Firstly, am I even good enough with 800 hours to deal with optimal SWF teams at red ranks? Because often I feel like I do not deserve to be in the red ranks and I just accept defeat against these SWF teams. Do people in my situation have the same issues?

Secondly, how do you guys have fun against such optimal teams where 1-2 survivors run you around in good loops and the others just gen rush you? Do you just accept defeat?

Just looking for opinions, I feel pretty downed especially today since most of my games have been against sweaty SWF groups and I've had 4-5 entity displeaseds in a row.

Thanks for reading and your comments :)

This realization hits every killer player at some point and why you sporadically see SWF=cheating posts.

It really depends how you define your fun.

If you want to win-win you yourself have to play sweaty.

Exploit everything they give you. Camp when you have to, tunnel where you must, focus on your gens.

Don't over commit in a chase. If you cannot down one quick enough, switch targets and disrupt their plan.

Don't play their game. They often try to lure you in unfavorable chases.

There is always a weak link, find that survivor and snowball of it.

If you wanna "cheat", bring a Mori. Ebony or Ivory. Either kick one out at the start of the match and make them salty, often results in more failure due to salt or you reduce all hooks to 1. Cannot guarantee the favor of the entity.

Alternative you can say, ######### it and play your own game. Play silly and goofy. Try a meme build you just like to try out. RP, like recrate the Halloween Movie with Michael, find your Obsession and stalk/follow him and hit or kill/slug everyone who comes in your way. Works well with Rancor.

Just pick a killer, think of a theme and roll with it.

You probably won't pip, but have your fun and occasionally you throw them so of their game that you slaughter them all. That's pure Bliss.

Just find your way of fun and see you in the fog.

PS. If they bring a lot of items, try Franklin's just for fun. You might like it =)

  • Form what I know about Slenderman, how would he interact with survivors?

What would his attack be? The only thing imaginable would be a tentacle attack. I just don't see him using a weapon.

And what would his gameplay be?

    Ghostface on steroids?

He stalks you until your static meter is full then pounces on you? He don't walk, he just glitch-teleports around the map?

I don't see Slenderman as a working killer in DBD. Just play Ghostface with his lederstrips.

You don't have to throw the game, you need to play altruistically. Hop in and take a hit for someone who's about to go down, block the hook when someone's about to wiggle, etc. If you get two or three survivors doing that, it's a game changer.

The issue with this logic is, that you assume it is good that 2 survivors are within a chase. But to be true, the only time, 2 survivors should be on the same place are during unhooks, heals and a crucial gen to pump out. In every other scenario it would be better to spread out and pressure multiple objectives at once, so the killer really needs to down the chased survivor really fast. Each second in a chase gives 3 survivors free reign to focus on the objective.

Creating a Perk that discourages, no, even reward to neglect the objective for a potential use of a perk in the later part of the game isn't really a good thing in my opinion.

We already have amazing Perks that offers a similar effect like MoM, like Adrenaline or Dead Hard. The first one rewards you for doing the objective and even provide a nice speed boost. The other one can be used to dodge one hit, provides some distance and is in your control. Especially the distance gain can be used for amazing plays. The new Styptic Agent even gives you a short version of MoM on demand.

Right now you have to get out of your way to trigger MoM for very little payoff.

I would love to see a rework of that Perk, because a free hit will always either be too broken or the condition so unfavorable.
