That's exactly what confuses me.
I agree and would recommend everyone to play like they enjoy to experience the game as they like it the most.
But when the devs are starting to penalise a certain playstyles with BP reduction to reinforce a certain behavior. I am asking, if the playstyle, that rewards me with the most Points is the behavior they like to reinforce and reward, why is it so, that you lose rank if you play, like the devs want you to play.
That is what I don't understand.
So please @not_Queen and @Patricia help me and everybody out. -
Thrill of the Hunt gives more BP during a chase and informs me, when a survivor is at a totem.
Depiping is not bad. It makes your game less stressful and more enjoyable. -
If there is official voice com support we can make it, that if you are saying something over voice your aura is revealed to the killer. So you have to decide is it save to talk or not.

Unless i warn people about swf groups , and how to dodge them, i can't recommend the game.
A killer that hits a string of coordinated players will likely get mauled badly, consistently, and turned off.
I can't recommend the frustration.Still, the game is pretty fun.
You know what? You're right. Screw it. Every PvP game has its share of major flaws, albeit some easier to stomach than others. I really like DBD so far, so will stick with it and recommend it. Overall, I really like many of the people I've met here at the forums and in some Stream channels, too.
The community is really great, if you watch the dev streams you see they really care and even after a horrible game you can find some friendly in the afterchat.
That's why we love the game so much and would like to see it shine! -

Are the community manager and or devs reading this and are aware of the state of the game?
As I understand it, without killers no game, because killers are hosting the game.
What needs to be done, that killers want to play against SWF?
All what I am reading support strongly to implement voice so the game can officially change for the better or acknowledge the problem.
I think the majority of the killers would feel better, if there is an official statement that SWF using voice is cheating but their hands are bound to do something against it and they have no intend to find a solution.
If that is the state of the game the killers can accept this and decide to play with it or, like one of the devs stated, play another game like ciV.With such a statement they would shut down any further discussion of that topic and we as a community could move on and focus on other stuff.
What needs to happen is that killers stop talking and actualyl take action. This happened only once when we had a somehow "organized" strike and survivor queue times went up to 40 mins.
The problem is that killers (including myself btw) just swallow the toxic pill down and accept things, personally I derank now becuase I cant stand high ranks anymore.
As you said, killers are needed to host the game, but as long as there is one for every 4 survivors, the situation is still acceptable in the devs eyes, thats the real issue.
I totally agree with you, but if we don't react now, when we still have a community, the situation can turn into the same situation like on consoles. There the survivors have to wait long for a game, because there is a lack of killers. The longer this situation exist, the more damage will be done.
I think derank to not face SWF just cause another problem. As the game goes on, more and more skilled killers would just derank and crush low rank survivors, what would drive them away. One of the biggest problem I see with SWF too is that high ranking survs can face low level killers.
If a group of random survivers would face a high ranking killer, they would have fun either.@not_Queen @Patricia_BHVR let us make a game, where killers WANT to face SWF and don't mind voice.

Will they ever answer?

Hex: Third Seal, Dear Stalker, Knockout and Monitor and Abuse
See no evil.
Hear no evil.
Do no evil. -
Other interesting killers for me would be:
Pyramid head
Slenderman
Mothman or something with bugs
Candyman or an other killer with a hook mechanic
Werewolf/skinchanger, true animalistic hunting
Changeling, blend in as a survivor and surprise them. Paranoia pure! -

You act like everyone uses DS, if I’m using it I’m usually the only player that’s using it in the game. Also you killers keep complaining about survivor perks then eventually you won’t have anyone to play with. Takes four survivors to play a game and only one killer. Just saying
The killer is hosting the game. Just saying

What do you do if your totem get cleansed within the first 10s of the game?
-
Well and with this full hex setup all 5 totems are lit. Why aren't there more?

Why is there no official support for voice com in the game?
As it is right now the devs implemented SWF as a response to the community.
They even whitelisted 3th party programs for the survivors so they can use voice com.
Right now 70% of the games are having SWF groups in any combination in them.
Only 30% of the matches are like the game was originally intended.
Why is it so hard to accept that fact and implement it into the game officially?
The devs could redesign the killer role for the voice com and let the rest, who don't want to use voice, play hardcore mode if they want.
As I understand it, without killers no game, because killers are hosting the game, so it should be admirable for them to face SWFs.
All what I have read so far supports strongly to implement voice so the game can officially change for the better or acknowledge the problem.
If that is not possible please consider, that in my opinion the majority of the killers would feel better, if there is an official statement that SWF using voice is cheating but their hands are bound to do something against it and they have no way to find a solution.

Because it goes against the spirit of the game. It's purposefully anti-social
You're not supposed to be able to tell someone across the map that you see the killer, or what you're doing in general. It creates a level of coordination that really hurts the killer side of things, too.
It's part of why people have a problem with survive with friends. As it is, people use 3rd party voice chat.
That's exactly why there is a need to make this issue offical.
SWF with voice com is not going away. There will never be actions against this style of play.
I am fully aware that SWF with voice was never intended and neither do I like this part of the game and in my eyes this is borderline cheating. But it got white-listed by the devs and so a part of the game.
I wish there would be an other option. -
The issue is not the voice com. Already the majority of survivors are using voice.
The issue is, as long the devs don't incorporate that into the game/balance those with no voice com are playing at a disadvantage and the killers cannot be appropriately adjusted to a game, where survivors are able to communicate.
This communication affects a lot of the core game elements like uncertainty over the objectives locations (gens, totems, pallets and where the killer is). It also allows the survivors to put on more pressure by reacting faster and as a group, rather than 4 individuals.
To still match the previous pressure and challenge the killer has to be able to react and interact faster with the survivors. Needs more way to disrupt survivor effort and to delay the game / create opportunity to interact with them. -
well if you chose to not use a game feature, refuse to communicate and play the game how you like it the most I don't see this as a problem. as it is right now 70% of the games have SWF in them so only 30% or probably even less are playing the game like you describe it.
-
Ok let's face the truth: SWF is not going away nor will it be balanced as the game is right now.
You can argue that using 3th party programs to obtain a competitive advantage is cheating, but the dev stated, that communication is not bannable. On the other hand, if a killer communicate with a survivor friend you can report them.
So why don't we go all the way down the rabbit hole?
Let's make voice com a part of the game and balance the game around it.
The killer could get less giveaways like hearth beat, ect. and totems had to be reworked (but a rework of them is down the line).
Buff the scary part of the killers, not raw power
Make the interactions between killer and survivor shorter but more meaningful.
Let there be real consequences for getting caught by the killer so the choices the team had to make are more sewer. (Sacrifice one survivor so the rest could accomplish something if necessary. No more taking free hits and then heal up, rinse and repeat for eternity.)
Put more pressure on, so stalemate, camping ect. isn't viable. Like with the crows when the survivor is too idle make them fear a debuff if they loop too long or no gens are done in a certain amount of time or a buff to the killer. After all we are in the realm of the entity and if you waste too much time in it, it will take a toll on you.
Put escaping on a clock. If you miss your opportunity to escape, let us survive for another 60s to try again. (Like the gates closing every 60s and after that you have to reopen them or they are spawning after 60s in a new location so you just cannot simply hide or camp.)
I really hope we could come together as a community and create a game that is fun to play for all of us.
Stop the debate over who is whining or toxic and let us look for solutions.
There are some issues right now and we have the opportunity to fix them or at least give constructive feedback and input to that wonderful and caring dbd-dev team and community manageres.
So heads up in the fog and happy gaming!
Cheers
