  • I am personally againt more licenced killer . I like original killers more and people cant buy licenced killers with shards so i am against that too. If they bring out a good killer i give them money if not i get it with shards. Also locking more perks behind paywall/shrine rng is terrible.

I am trying to play as killer.

Killer queues have been awful overall, lately. Especially in the lowest and highest of ranks, it's.. fast-ish in the middle ranks.

Before 2.4 it was fine for me. Maybe they screwed something up during their patch and new matchmaking testing.

I would really like to have an offical response regarding if unlocking your fps is bannable or not?

Because I really would like to unlock them but dont want to risk getting banned.

If its bannable or only a tolerated option can you just give us the option to unlock it ingame BHVR?

    @Peanits
    @not_Queen

no. its only changing the text file fps. ive been doing it for ages uncapped fps! its not actually modifying a file just changing its default value. dont mess with any other actual file you will be good

"its only changing the text file fps"
"its not actually modifying a file"
I mean, at least be consistent.

@Crythor, I'm just going to point out that @Peanits is an actual, bona fide mod. He handles reports and hands out bans. He's an official, if you will. One of the requirements of his job is that he needs to be informed about what is and isn't bannable. So if he says it's "use at your own risk", then it's "use at your own risk". The devs will not unban you if EAC gets twitchy over the changes you made to the game files.
So ask yourself, is it really worth it to ignore the people who actually know what they're talking about in favor of a slightly higher framerate if it comes with the risk of a permanent and irrevocable ban? Or is it better to just tough it out and wait for better optimization? I know what I'd pick.

Thx for clearing up Peanits position. Also thx to all others who gave usefull advice.

If you want it off then you MUST edit GameUserSettings.ini manually and set it to false as well as set a frameratelimit to a number other than 0.

    Period.

Actually that's incorrect since some software suites will override in game ini settings for video. I do it all the time for my games with my Nvidia stuff.

Have you tried to overwrite the fps lock in dbd with nvidea settings? Does it work? Do you have more then 62 fps then without changing files?

I've never tried going over the 60 fps due to my video card being older DBD wise but for other games i've done it before with no issues.

You can't turn off vsync through the gpu's control panel. And even if it does turn off vsync you won't be getting anymore fps than 62 because there's a frame rate limit in the gameusersettings. I've tried that before editing anything and it didn't work.

You are right it dosent work. I tried it.

  • Yup takes long to get games on EU Rank 1. A month ago lobbys were pretty much instant. They must have screwed up something earlier today 23k people were online still took ages to get someone in my lobby.

  • it killed Lampkin Lane and Badham Preschool for me. Iget render issues there now, view distance is way lower then before and the map is super dark. Before i could view from one end of the street to the other now i can barely see 15m

  • Why not just give an ingame option to do it? Its not much work and wont hurt consoles as they dont have to check it.
Could you please check with the devs if they could just add such an option? @not_Queen

  • Changing settings from Ultra to Low helps with the darkness cause all maps seem to be way brighter on low then on any other setting BUT it dosent fix the render issue and lower line of sight on this 2 maps.

  • Dont you guys have those problems too?

  • Object of obsession is insanely strong in swf just one survivor has to take it and gives all info to teammates. Making survivors gain more value out of that perk slot then the killer since 3 take others perks there.

Some other aura reading perks arent really needed if you are in swf since voice com can basically give you their use for free.

The killer revealing perks would be very good but since survivors gain the terror raidus for free they arent as reliant on them if killer wouldnt have a heart beat i guess survivors would use those more.

As to killer perks aura reading perks arent OP and they for sure didnt need the locker nerf. Its a stupid change and shouldnt have made it to live.

I like the basements having dark lighting, makes it spooky

but when playing killer your sight is close to 0

A lot of things are broken again for killer, but not like those basements had a lot of vision to begin with since they are just loop city

The problem is not only that its dark. The problem is that your actual line of sight is shortened for some reason.

For example if you stand on the end of one of the streets in either map you cant look till the end you can only see like 15 m before i could see till the other side of the map which was more like 100m.

It also introduced silouets being just black if they are at the end of you new line of sight so after 15 to 20 m for example trees are only black silouets now before i could clearly see them.

Also the light comeing from the heaven is nearly not existened anymore. Before we had moon/sun light which is noe nearly completly gone on those maps. The other maps have diffrent lighting but none of the mentioned issues it just looks a bit diffrent.

  • Also Badham Preschool and Lampkin Lane seems to be having way less "sun light"/"moonlight" what ever you want to call the light from above.

  • While they said they will make Lockers block aura reading for survivors too SOON TM i think that lockers are still an issue.
This survivor buff was never needed nor was a nerf to BBQ, Bitter Murmur, Freddys power and some addons like amandas letter the one all seeing wraith addon etc.

This change noone asked for promotes camping and makes holding the game hostage easier and comes before changes to DS or Hatch or actual buffs to solo survivors like a free bond to bring them closer to swf. Instead they buff swf more with this change then solo survivors. Smart move...

Lampkin Lane: This one sucks aswell. Way too dark and you cant look very far same render issue like badham preschool.

It gives lockers more use. Before they were just for new players to be scared in and for the occasional Q&Q play. This way lockers can actually be used to hide more effectively, rather than being a death sentence because the killer sees your goofy statue shaped aura sitting there free for the picking.

I do agree that OoO probably shouldn't do that, though I don't see any huge problem with it either. Keeping track of the killer is already fairly easy. The perk usually doesn't see much use, and when it does, it's to get the killer's attention and get them to waste their time searching an area for you.

BBQ is going to be even better now with Iron Maiden. Survivors who try to hide their aura will be exposed and have the location revealed anyways.

Regarding Freddy though, he's going to be reworked. This is not to nerf Freddy.

If people need 2 perks, to use 1 of them properly, then something is groundbreaking wrong.

Dance with me barely does anything without either Q&Q or lithe. To a lesser extent, perks like coulrophobia rely heavily on terror radius add-ons and distressing for best results. Same for spirit fury and enduring. It's nothing new, combining perks that compliment each other is what a build is.

BBQ didn't need anything to work with it like those other perks do, those perks are good in builds and they work together yes but they were always like that. BBQ was forced to be like that, also it sucks that Iron Maiden has only 15 seconds when every other perk has 60, if someone is hiding in a locker to get away from BBQ then they're probably 40M away and the Killer is probably going to move in the wrong direction before they leave the locker, so when they get notified where that locker is they're even farther away and those 15 seconds are going to be up WAY before the Killer gets there because they also need to chase that person. So BBQ only works with Iron Maiden and vice-versa because the Exposed timer is too small, this means BBQ and Chili was split up into two different perks. If Iron Maiden was buffed to 60 seconds then nevermind, the perk is awesome and I love it because it's weird but still useful.

    1. BBQ didnt need a nerf at all. It already has 3 ways to counter it if survivors dont do it they are bad. 1. Be in 39 m, 2. hide behind the gen aura 3. pretend to go somewhere then change direction if you are far away you are long gone before most killers are even close.

    2. Iron maiden DOSENT realy counter it because it dosent show you while you are IN the locker so until they leave you have no possible way to know they are in and since you dont know WHEN they leave its unlikely that you look into their direction during the 4 sec. and since you dont know where they are its only luck if you run into them to use the exposed. Iron maiden dosent even counter the locker buff. And even if it would you would need 1 morre perk for that you dont have a slot vs the survivors get it for free double standart at its best.

  • the locker buff should really be reverted it was not needed and has bad features for both sides

  • I think before the last patch borrowed time was in a perfect spot. Now they just overbuffed it.

  • The biggest problem with offerings in generell is that survivors have the advantage. They got 4 to 1 and a lot of killer offerings are worse for example killer can get + 3 hooks and survivors can get - 4 (combined)

It gets even worse if they do diffrent stuff like map offering, darkest moonlight, mist addon and minus a hook no matter what you do as killer you cant counter it via offering.

    Use Iron Maiden then?

    1. Counter something survivors got for free by giving up 1 perk slot? Double standard hm?
    2. It dosent even counter it completly cause the aura reading is only after you exit so while they are in it you dont know it and its only 4 sec so depending where you are you wont get to them even if you see them and when they exit its likely you dont look into their direction durion the 4 sec cause you dont know when they will exit the locker so it dosent actually counter it well.

I see it as more of a nerf to solo survivors. When the killer downs me after a chase, gen progression stops while the rest of the team gets in lockers.

Its worth it to just hop into lockers for some seconds to avoid bbq. He wont know where anyone is and in a lot of situations spents a lot of time time searching before he finds someone compared to aquireing a bbq target the additional time needed will off set the few seconds you spent in a locker. Not only that if you dont do lockers all the time he dosent know if you guys are close or in a locker this can lead to time wasted if he thinks someone is close too.

And noone says do it all the time do it depending on the killers and yours/teammates position.

It currently does and it always needs a lot of community outrage for BHVR to even consider that their changes were bad look back at the pallets can stun nurse while telport change without the community outrage they would have keeped that.

Also survivors didnt need the locker buff and if they really want it they should have at least tied it to a perk. Just use perk to counter it? Thats quite the double standard.

Also it not only nerfs bbq (which wasnt really needed anyway and promotes campaing even more now so good job) it also nerfs t1, t2 aura readin myers perks, freddys power and some more stuff like bitter murmur.

@JanTheMan the problem is it's 4 perks against 16. The blood point bonus is what made the mediocre aura reading ability worth running. And BBQ was balanced before this, the nerf is completely un-necessary.

    @powerbats
Can u please tell this guy why the 4v16 perks argument is pointless? I'm done for today.

What killers who say 16 perks imagine:

"Hey viet, I'm about to get downed, could I borrow your DS? I'll trade you my SB. It's on cd anyway."

"Oh I'm dead, hey let me give you my Left Behind."

"You didn't bring Self Care? No problem, I brought it. We can share."

Its true that you cant call it 4 vs 16 BUT some perks are only needed once or twice in a swf best example is object of obsession if just 1 person in a swf has it and tells his mates over voice where the killer is its A LOT of gain from just 1 slot not 4 times 1 slot. For most perks this is not true but its still an advantage.

2 times borrowed times instead of 4 also comes to mind with having 2 dedicated savers though object of obsession is still the biggest impact 1 times using perks.

Nerf aura reading killer perks by lockers and the new perk but not object for swf? Dosent sound fair at all.

But when you get people who still want Self Care nerfed after healing in general has been nerfed, what are survivors supposed to do next? Spend 3 minutes self caring once?

And again you show your complete lack of understanding balance.^^
Self Care is still THE most OP perk in the game.

But feel free to ignore anything else I said and focus on DS.^^
Anyway, I am not the only one that already told you that games in general get balanced around good/top player, only Dbd isn't doing it, and guess what? Dbd balance is a mess and everyone is complaining about it. Make your own ideas about any connections.

Explain to me how self care is op lmfao.

It takes 100% more time to heal youself with selfcare then if an other player would heal you BUT if an other player heals you its 2 players needed resulting in the same time wasted so if someone has to spent even 1 sec. to come to you self care is better time management wise. It shouldnt be better. It should give you the ability to heal but it should take more time in comparison. If it would reduce time by 70% for example there would be more situations where it would be better to get healed by team mates for example. Currently the only time where its worse then getting healed by a team mate is if the killer comes for you and it has to be done fast.

exactly!!!  they should build this game around the top 5% of players. [BAD WORD] anyone who isn't a pro-gamer or the average players, they don't deserve a good game.

I take it you're also against social programs because you believe they take away your money?
Balancing a game at the top means that players of equal skill have an equal chance to win. It's beneficial for everyone.

Are you at least with me on this, people keep bringing up DCs as kills, but the graph isn't tracking who does and doesn't get killed, it's tracking who is leaving, therefore DC data doesn't even matter.

Not entirely true. Someone who DCs cant leave and therefore can lower the %. However its true that a lot of the DCs dont affect them for example people who DC once they are cought on their death hook. But for example an entire group DCs cause they hear the killer is nurse. Maybe they would have escaped maybe not but it for sure ensured noone escaped therefore altering the %. Killer DCs can also alter the % unless it just dosent count the match at all. But it could also count as 4 survived. Who knows?

  • The thing with the graph from the stream is its kinda useless because most people in any game DbD included are just bad. Rank 1 people are bad on average too. Maybe disconnects count as kills maybe not (though my guess would be they do) but the only thing to see how balanced a game is is to let the best players on both sides play each other over every map multiple times and see how they perform on average.
To claim that the game is balanced or killers are OP because of average player stats is just simply stupid.

  • A big problem is also that survivors that know this mechanic can intentionally abuse it and new players dont even know this mechanic as the game dosent really tell them.

  • This is the picture of from the live stream and it WONT fix all issues.

What issues will it not fix?

    Issue 1:

It wont fix securing a kill when exit gates are open. Currently you often want to secure a last kill if you have someone hooked and the gens are powered/gate are open. You still cant do this with the changes of the picture. Survivors could just stand 17m or further away or dont come at all and if you move 17m away you wont be able to protect your hooked target forcing you to either let them unhook it for free or you get punished for securing the kill when gates are powered. This needs to change. A rule could be that once all gens are powered the 16m chaser rule dosent apply anymore.

Issue 2: Basement and close hooks

If you hook 2 or more people in the basement or close to each other this change will force you to go away and let them come forthe unhook. You can no longer preven them from resucing them which is dumb. If you managed to get multiple people in the basement or to hook them close to each other you should be allowed to defend them. If not you basically give away a victory which the survivors gave you. But no you have to give them another chance eventhough its their fault in the first place that such a situation even happened.

    Issue 3: The game map

The game map is a huge issue for this chaser emblem punishement. You get punished if you walk above the area where you hooked them and lose points eventhough you often arent even close to a way that would allow you to reach the hook. For example you hooked someone downstairs and go upstairs and search for survivors above your hook eventhough the stairway is a long way from your hook (asuming you didnt hook right next to it) you still get punished for walking above eventhough its not camping at all. Same for hooking upstairs and going downstairs. The distance shouldnt be calculed for above and below.

    Issue 4:

The 10 seconds after hooking might not be enough. If you want to check if a survivor is around it often can take more then 10 seconds. I would recommend to increase this time to 15 sec.

Issue 5: If you have someone hooked and down someone else it might happen that you have to carry the newly downed survivor through the 16m radius of the hooked survivor to reach a hook and get punished for not camping but just for hook spawn/place survivor goes down (can do this intentially too) something you have no controll over. Add that you dont lose points while carrying a survivor even if it goes through the 16m radius of a hooked survivor.

I could live with it if the changes from the picture AND my 5 changes would be integrated as well. However i still think the chaser emblem rule shouldnt make it to live at all, as its a bad way to force killers to not stay around hooks. Since BHVR is going against what they said: that patrolling, camping and kill securing (exit gates are open) are legitimate.

  • I think more perks slots for killers would be great, Its an opportunity to buff them and with more and more perks in the game it makes builds much more interesting as quite a lot of perks are if not mandatory at least way better then most options. An additional perk slot would make more diffrent builds viable.

An other way would be to make some perks that all killers could benefit from no longer perks but just baseline for all killers. For me shadowborn would be a great thing to make permanent. The killer fov is very low and i think shadowborn field of view would be a great baseline fov. If this would be done shadowborn could either increase fov even further for people who want that or just get a different effect.

  • Like in any game most players are bad. Its true that on avrage you get better players at rank 1 however that dosent make them all good players. Most people on rank 1 suck too. Rank 1 is just too easy to get. We have a ranking system witch has safety pips LOL no real matchmaking based at least on elo just players who are around our rank on avrage with a ranking system thats capped and easy to reach.

If you try to reach rank 1 and play enough during a season and you still cant reach rank 1 then you suck. ITs as simple as that.

  • Are you aware that you introduced a blink/teleport deadzone in the bathroom area in the game map with patch 2.2.0 and when can we expect a fix for it?

  • The emblem system is strange. You safety easily without deserving it but you also often dont pip when you deserve it.

I can mostly speak for killer though. For example if all gens are done fast, but you manage to kill 2 with 3 hooks each and hook the other 2 2 times each so 10 hooks total and 2 kills it can often happen, that you dont pip cause you have 0 points in gens but are only 2 hooks away from the highest achievable numbers of hooks. I am sure there are other situations and situations for survivor too that are just broken.

I personally wish we had the old system back at least for killers.
