New lighting

I'm currently playing on a borrowed laptop and last patch introduced changes in the map light that for some reason make my fps drop (and I already had my settings at minimun).
Thought this is (hopefully) a temporary issue until I get my laptop fixed, I wonder what good does that change make anyway. Now the game looks kinda more arcade-ish and less creepy like. Idk, am I the only one not liking the look of the new map lighting? I prefer the old general ambience feel of the game...

    it killed Lampkin Lane and Badham Preschool for me. Iget render issues there now, view distance is way lower then before and the map is super dark. Before i could view from one end of the street to the other now i can barely see 15m
