  • If you double something 3 times that is 6x the bp. Triple is multiplying by 3.

If you multiply something by 2 then multiply it by 2 again it is impossible for it to be triple as both multiplying numbers are even.

I'd still run it as that's double of the double amount, that's triple the bp.

    Quadruple. 2 base bp x2 =4

    4 Bp (base bp+ bonus) x2 =8

If you watch anyyyyy good killer they don't tunnel or camp. The point of the game isn't to end the match as fast as possible which is how most killers play now cause they have no skill. Im a killer main rank 1 and I get a merciless almost every game and the survivors also pip up and get anywhere from 18 to 25000 at the end of match. So yeah tunneling and camping are scummy there's no need for it unless you have no skill. Also if the devs would take a hint from ya know predator white noise 2 Friday the 13th and come out with casual matches or private matches so everyone isn't stuck playing ranked matches with sweaty try hards

I thought that a casual lobby was a good idea but you also split the player base, possibly creating longer wait times.

A series of, say, 20 matches when you're new that are only against the newest players could help but that still has it's problems.

I have since thought that survivors getting more perks to start with, as opposed to your chosen survivors starting perks.

Like having a handful of tier 1 perks to play about with.

I find nothing worse in competitive games when you can enter a lobby with someone that has all the perks and you have 4 to choose from and 1 slot. Bad enough if you go against a killer that is a higher level with more experience let alone with options, as a new player, you don't understand yet or have access to.

It can be hard for a new player to understand why one thing works one game only for it to get you killed in the next.

People bring up that The Trickster does not fit in Dead by Daylight because he's wearing bright flashy clothes and is not scary. Here's the thing though, if I asked you (the reader) "When was the last time you were actually scared in Dead by Daylight?" It would probably be a long time ago. For me I stopped being scared after the first 5-10 hours of playing and I have between 2.5k and 3k hours in this game. The argument of how "scary" a killer is doesn't feel very fitting for people who have been playing the game for a while. Am I right?

Now for the flashy clothing argument. Go to the freaking shop and look through the cosmetics. I'm pretty sure that's enough an argument for why "flashy clothes" isn't much of an argument once the shop released in 2018. We have onesies and elf cosmetics and you're arguing about this guy wearing hot pink and yellow? Sorry, but the looks argument died out once the shop was introduced.

I understand that people don't think he fits. That's fine, but the arguments aren't really there since the arguments used, if you play the game, aren't really arguments anymore and haven't been for a very long time. Yet here we all are still playing (and complaining but still playing).

Edit: After reading comments I don't want people to think I mean "Your arguments don't make sense." I'm saying they're weak arguments based off of what the game is. They're still arguments, they just aren't the best.

He looks like Kakihara from ichi the killer. He was truly disturbing.

It may all add up but BHVR is notorious for putting out teasers to completely throw people off. It happened last chapter with everyone expecting a wendigo, and it happened before that with everyone expecting a werewolf.

To be fair, there was 0 evidence that the last two were the werewolf or wendigo.

BHVR aren't "notorious" for putting out misleading teasers. If anything the community is notorious for jumping to conclusion. People incorrectly decided the blight was a werewolf from the change animation in the teaser and the wendigo conclusion came from the sound victor.

These weren't misleading people just guessed wrong.

They win way more often in the way that they chose is a win he wins in the way he choses is a win. wining in dbd is subjective I could look at your gameplay and say you are mediocre because you don't play the same way as these streamers that all play the same way but that isn't really fair is it?

Also you can not deny no matter how much you don't like tru which I don't even like him that much he has a lot of knowledge on this game. Out of all the content creators you mentioned tru has the most spread out knowledge some like otz or scott have it for specific killers like trapper oni or huntress but he plays every killer and is decent enough to help new players just by them watching him play.

I have to disagree there. Otz has hours worth of content for every killer.

He has done the "50 wins in a row" for every killer, has in depth usually hour long guides for every killer, has videos showcasing every killer.

He clearly has an understanding of both roles and every killer in the game

I use him as my go to DBD YouTuber because I can find an indepth, well explain video for anything I need.

He has an incredible understanding of DBD and diminishing that just to inflate another for your point in disingenuous at best.

Just looks at his playlist on YouTube.

In the last few days I've been doing lots of bloodpoint grinding for the new killer and survivor, even though people say they aren't good. All I have seen in these last few days is ebony mori tunnelers and 4 person swf teams that offer survivor sided maps and I have a hard time keeping pressure cuz all of them have toolboxes and prove thyself except the keyholder then they all just leave through the hatch (maybe 1 or 2 don't make it). I stg I'm getting tired of all of it. I know the devs don't always do exactly what the community thinks was needed but I still can't wait to hear some news on this because I'm getting tired of the nonstop toxic sweaty teams.

Current tome has kill challenges and a hatch escape challenge. Probably why you're seeing more.of these in matches.

There are also kill and hatch trophies/achievements so they are not going to get drastically changed.

Players are not going to stop trophies/achievment hunting of they are inclined to do so. So I doubt keys and moris are going away in any realistic fashion.

i was playing cold wind farm at the killer shack doing a generator and one of the lockers opened by itself with no one in it.

Is is this a new thing. I have never seen it do that before????

Quite possibly a player out of sync.

I was playing as a killer and gen finished by itself. I walked around it twice was unable to kick it and ping!

About 5 seconds later (possibly less) scratch marks appeared heading away from the gen. Followed and found a survivor, pretty sure they were the one that finished that gen.

Either that or someone is using an invisibility hack (honestly don't know if that is a thing)

Always going to be a problem when everyone is running on different systems with different internet setups. You will invariably get weird bugs.

I had one last night were a Myers downed me. When he picked me up I was on his back in a falling animation, couldn't wiggle as the prompt didn't appear. Next time he picked me up it was normal.

Possibly the only two glitches I've seen during my time with dbd.

Play survivor and you see what a difference it is. Survivor only have stressful moments when you are being chased more or less. Killer you have to constantly be on the move and awere of what is going on around you all the time. Some people feel at home in stressful situations I have a few of those at work, while most of us don't like stress.

Just because someone thinks somethings is stressful doesn't mean we all do.

Stress, like fun is subjective and personal.

It's more like, some find the pressure to win stressful and find it's easier to win as a survivor and therefore less stressful. (Hypothesis, not statement of fact)

You can't tell someone something is stressful because that's how you feel. You can, however, tell someone you find it stressful.

I don't find either role stressful as beyond "not winning" there is no consequence to "not winning".

I believe OP will get more out of their games because they are having fun and not taking it too seriously.

Some people probably get stressed with their teammates, when they play survivor, either because they feel they've been abandoned on hook, the other survivors have become potatoes or you feel they just purposely lead the killer to your location.

It's all a matter of perspective and attitude.

I feel the opposite way about mori (more on that later) but long story short, give me a quick cool death over a long boring one.

Franklin's is gross, imo, but it always reminds me of that scene in cabin in the woods where she drops the knife.

(Fun fact, this game was made alongside the movie)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1771831#Comment_1771831

A fun game to me is a challenge, what you described I'd jump in head first.

My first tactics would be to place traps in places they need to diffuse, like stairs, entrances, ect.

And I'd bring a mori, if they quit that's on them.

It goes to show the difference between survivors and killers definition of fun.

Easy kills/escapes doesn't equal fun imo, but others want to look for any edge they can find (swf, mori, playing dirty)

I'm confused. What do you mean "(Fun fact, this game was made alongside the movie)"

The cabin in the woods came out in 2011 whereas dbd came out in 2016.

I don't doubt cabin influenced dbd I just don't think they were developed at the same time or alongside one another.

I apologise if I've misunderstood what you meant.

Lemme pull something up so we can shut down this whole "SWF made me lose" stuff cause I am going out of my way digging through season 0 of Apex Legends to do this

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/F70PO4PGGUCW/image.png

Devs themselves over 4 years ago added V1 of SWF, if coms were not intended then they would have never added SWF in the first place

Along with this, I am fully aware of how dumb OoO is in SWF

And the only big second chance perks are Unbreakable and DS, Adrenaline atleast is a Second chance that awards you to making it to endgame

    That's a logical fallacy.

Adding swf does not equate to comms intended.

If comms were intended then they would implement in-game comms.

You should not be able to communicate over the entire map like you're in the same room. The survivors are not telepathic. How would the killer not hear the survivors? That's why comms is ridiculous. SWF fine, SWF with comms, broken.

I also don't find the argument of "we just chat and don't feed info to each other" a strawman argument and anecdotal evidence, not proof.

They should implement their own comms and give audio queues based on proximity, once you're over 10m away the audio queues should get louder like you're shouting.

No amount of reasoning make comms make sense.

Devs have said comms are fine as there is literally nothing they can do about 3rd party programmes.

Just disingenuous reasoning from the devs and a logical fallacy on your part.

I doubt I've come up against an swf comms team, as I play infrequently but you have got to be able to see why it doesn't make any logical sense.

I've seen a lot of comments on the topic of friday the 13th, the lawsuit, jason on dbd, etc. about why they can't see jason voorhees in dead by daylight, many say that he already has his own game but what does that have to do with it? Do you think it is impossible to see this killer in this game? how hillbilly was the inspiration for leatherface and today is it in the game? if there is a trapper there is no complaint that there may be a jason, also jason is a playable character in the mortal kombat saga along with leatherface and freddy krueger. I see it possible to see this killer in the future when his demand is over. I consider there is friday the 13th the game let it die and take out the characters of jason voorhees and tommy jarvis and bring them to dead by daylight...

Already has his own licensed game adding him to dbd would take any money to be made by Friday 13th as a game and legal disputes.

Having an already existing game, regardless of if you think it's relevant or not, is a major factor in him not coming dbd. If it were a different type of game and not an asynchronous multiplayer it would be more likely.

Currently, the intellectual property rights are contested and as such he cannot be used until that has been settled.

I would love to see him and some of the resident evil creatures but as both have asynchronous multiplayer I highly doubt it at the moment.

The mortal kombat cameo was before the dispute started and oddly Jason is not part of the dispute as he didn't appear until Friday 13th part 2 and as the "zombie in a hockey mask" uh ntil part 3, he wears a sack in part 2. The dispute is actually about the first film which he isn't in.

With the franchises legal ownership in connection, who do they ask for the rights? It currently isn't viable.

This is such a warped view of things, I guess a killer standing in front of you hitting you on the hook is basically them murdering you irl too.

I would hope that you wouldn't teabag someone in real life either.

Or some of the games on the list have upcoming dlc's and have increased in poularity recently?

Or the ps4 frame rate issue jas caused a drop off?

I doubt that overpriced cosmetics have anything to do with it.

Dbd all-time highest player numbers wouldn't have got it in the top 5 this month as the highest is 77000 while the 5th position is GTA 5 with 104000.

  • I play both (badly) and I am never stressed.

Tea bagged, tunnelled, 0 kills or early hook death, whatever happens, happens.

I joined this game quite late into its life and don't play to grind out blood webs, rifts challenges or dailies and I don't play with the need to kill all survivors or escape.

I just play to play, be a helpful survivor or a kill as many as I'm able to.

As I'm not getting anything out of it except my enjoyment, I think, why worry?

No one's paying me to play, I don't get prizes for winning except the intangible ones: blood points, emblems, shards et all. None of that affects me in the real world.

Unless your livelihood depends on it I don't get the stress.

You don't become a killer when you lose all hope/emotion. The Entity get rid of you and throw you in the garbage bin AKA the void.

You are correct. According to the lote that's what happens.

Yet, Vigo left the void and it is suggested that putrid serum allows you to leave.

It is an underdeveloped area,as that is all of the info supplied about the void as short paragraph.

Other than that little is known so my theory still has a chance to be true or at least retconned in.

  • @Chloe_Deplano said:

    Greetings, everyone.

I'll start by saying that, yes, this is a fan theory and, like most theories, it's just an idea. Now, let's talk about it.

Not so long ago, many different maps received both minor and major changes, like, for example, reducing their tiles, removing infinite loops, etc. However, I'd like to concentrate more on the Realms that have been changed the most: Léry's Memorial Institute, Springwood, Yamaoka Estate and, very soon, The MacMillan Estate.

All of these received many different tweaks graphically, making everything darker, more corrupted rotten. Considering that they previously existed only on some characters memories and dimensions, could it mean the Entity is gaining more power over both Killers and Survivors minds, thus controlling everyone and everything better, while feeding from hope, rage, fear?

Let me know what you think about it.

Possible that the longer you are there the more detail is pulled from your mind. the more you are sacrificed the more it knows. The more it knows the better it can trick you and instill false hope.

I don't think mind control is something the entity does as this essentially removes hope by removing choice.

(Although I do appreciate that you might not mean that sort of control)

I believe it needs the survivors and the killer to have free will.

Some killers are described as doing as they like, which displeases the entity but it doesn't appear to punish them for it.

The entity takes a broken or corrupt person as the killer but seems to ensure the killers favourite plaything is taken to its realm to motivate the killers.

  • @chieften333 said:

I wonder if Behavior are ever gonna expand on that.

    A couple of ideas.

It appears you can die repeatedly in the entity's realm, so possibly a warning that you WILL die and that doesn't end your torment.

It could also represent that if you keep dying and eventually lose all hope you become a new killer for the entity. Kind of like how hollowing works in dark souls.

  • I had a gen pop in front of me when no one was working on it, no scratch marks and no survivor noises. That is the only thing since the update that I have noticed.

  • Exit gate shouldn't get powered.

Why should one team's objective get autocompleted, allowing them points they potentially didn't earn?

That is like saying after 30 mins the killer gets 2 random sacrifices.

You'd get survivor teams treating it like a legit strategy to wait 30 mins and then leave, technically "winning" the round.

You can almost guarantee 30 min no gen games.

Killers and survivors need to earn their points. Just have the game end. Everyone keeps whatever points they have earned and move on.

It doesn't need a complex system.

After 25 mins EGC starts, unopened hatch spawns (must use key). after 5 mins everyone is sacrificed, including the killer. All points retained but you can't pip.

This still allows everyone the chance to complete their objectives, removes the incentive beyond bp to prolong a game but prevents/lessens the desire to DC because you still gain from the round.

  • @D_1031 said:

I propose an idea, that every time you are hit by the killer you slow down. This is to give a killer a chance. Here are some ideas:

Across all ideas: You begin slowing down after your initial burst of speed to get away

1 You get hit, you leave blood like normal, but gradually slow down. An energy bar will show this effect.

2 You get hit and it works like being hit by legion, except across all killers.

3 It works like legion, except that you leave no scratch marks for 8 seconds.

You reset your energy if you get up to full health from a med kit.

The problem here, is that when people have the ability to run full speed after being hit, the killer might have absolutely no chance. If this is wrong, correct me, maybe I and others just need to learn our killers better.

Another idea is that all killers get more energy every time they hit someone, and their speed permanently increases, or it stays fast until all survivors have healed themselves 100%

Just trying to balance things, because survivors have all gotten so many abilities now, it seems to ME, and I could be wrong, almost impossible to get more than 2 survivors.

    Surely bloodlust is enough?

Speed reductions on survivors would surely lead to inevitable hits and make it really unfair for them.

If you get hit you know it is only a matter of time before you go down because now you are slowing down and the killer is getting a speed boost from bloodlust. Guaranteed you get that survivor.

This doesn't sound challenging for the killers and sounds like an utter nightmare for survivors.

I get your frustration but this isn't a solution or really a problem with the game, killers, for the most part, are faster than survivors.

(I don't play enough per rank season to go beyond rank 16 with a killer so my perspective could be skewed and could be more your rank than anything else that is screwing you over)

  • Possibly separate realities.

Can't guarantee that the movies exist in every timeline or that everyone saw those movies.

These characters are medis icons now but not when they came out. Evil dead for example struggled to get rated and had a limited release.

Ash is shown to be living in a trailer in ash vs evil dead and isn't shown to sit in of a evening and watch T.V. He drinks his evenings away. Stranger things would probably five him ptsd?

This is pretty much how I feel as well and think solo players like myself get treated like crap, because the killer assumes us solos are part of a toxic swf.

Had a Leatherface last night repeatedly hit my body on hook several times before walking off. He did this every time I was hooked...and for what? I never t-bagged, didn't DS, didn't have unbreakable, etc. This behavior is pretty common in the solo games that I play.

That could just be something that players does on hook. Like a tradition or ritual.

Not defending it but not really toxic.

It doesn't do anything in terms of the match and just wastes a little bit of the killers time.

I find the forums have higher toxicity than the game itself.

  • Imagine playing against legion or ghost face as described. "one" killer multiple bodies.

You only know of the location of one of the killers but there are four and one always knows where you are and what you're doing. You'd never touch a gen/totem and you wouldn't survive.

Now imagine it was lone survivor.

  • killer tunnels, ds'd

killer slugs (due to DS) unbreakable or disconnect.

Killer tunnel (due to ub), ds'd.

This is a loop of excuses both sides use. I only run ds/ub because killers tunnel and slug. I only tunnel and slug because survivors bring ds/ub.

Slugging and tunneling are things a killer can and would do and surviving at all cost is what survivors can and would do.

There are too many counter arguments on both sides and the worst bit is both sides think their view point is just and objective!

Killers should behave like merciless monsters with little to no regards for the rules of engagement and survivors should behave like their lives depend on it and use every tool to their advantage (perks and all).

Anecdotal evidence is useless, you can't really know what the other side is doing when you can't see their screen. You can call tunneling, camping, slugging, ds, ub, swf et all as reasons you lost or are afraid of what a player may be running but those are usually excuses by venting players.

No one should have to bow to another players play style and no one should have to worry about other players "fun" unless you are paying for the other player to give you a fun gaming experience.

It’s a gamertag chill dude, and also:

•the devs create good killers but since Killers can’t get their precious 4K with them all the time they play spirit , nurse, and huntress

•Hmm when’s the last time these forums were filled with requests for a killer nerf? I haven’t seen any in a hot minute

•only time survivors troll the killer and be toxic is if the killer is toxic first like shaking their head no like if they’re good for no reason.

The sentiment "only the killers/survivors troll" is disingenuous.

You troll because you troll. Simple.

Everyone of these comments is ridiculous.

Toxic players (survivor or killer) are toxic players.

I played enough and watched enough streamers play to see it on both sides consistently and 90% of the time it's because of perceived trolling or an excuse to troll.

It appears this community has never heard the phrase two wrongs don't make a right.

    I await the trolling replies.

  • I'm a killer/survivor dc main and I think it's disgusting behaviour to not auto disconnect me at the start of a match

if you are saved from hook you are invincible for a minute

if four survs have this its 4 minutes of invincibilty scattered throughout the team which is enough time to do every gen on the map

can't you just pick up someone with ds and then they're no longer invincible because they lose it? Is it one time use? You'd eat a stun but not allow the 60 seconds grace period?

  • Sadly I think this system only really works if you have a solidly consistent player base with little to no casual players. (I'd say I fit casual player)

Either system is flawed but sadly, whilst the both system works in theory, will definitely suffer from constant fluxtuation due to having to cope with three essentially different queuing systems.

As a solo survivor, I would imagine wait times are longer as you are either waiting to join a 3 man swf group of similar level or 3 other survivors of similar level as well as waiting for a killer of similar level.

I would think swf queue is the medium wait if you're 2/3 man.

4 man and killer being the shortest because you're waiting for a team/killer similar to your level.

Therefore I think 4 man swf and killer will adjust well, with 4 man swf seeing best results. Solo, 2/3 man and killer will probably see constant flux.

I only get a few hours an evening, (if I'm lucky and the reason I fit casual player status) to play any game, so my main concern is the wait times between matches.

They just need a casual mode and a ranked mode and have a queue system that allows searching of both types of match or one type.

Aww come on don't say that man. Sooner or later though you'll realize you can't respond to a good share of topics here. Some people are hard to reason with, if something clearly doesn't make sense like "Calm spirit is overpowered (because OP mains doc)" you probably shouldn't bother with a response because it's either someone deluded or again, someone who doesn't play both sides.

And you really don't have to be someone important to say something innovative so don't fret over it :)

Got to say I agree with slim0b. I'm actually hesitant at times to respond to comments or sometimes play the game as I find the represented community on these forums have some really bad aggression issues and are unable to have "conversations" without resorting to sarcasm or insults or the my side you side debate, ad infinitum.

Second, while I also thank you about pointing out the analogy I made not being good, I still think it's silly that most people in this post seem to come across as saying" if you play the other side once, you automatically know everything" and that there are an extremely small amount of people that only played one side and NEVER the other side (at least on the forums), but they make it out to be much more common than it actually is.

I totally agree, just the analogy I didn't get on with. It's nice to actually see an articulate argument and not a series of contradictions, insults and contrivances.

You sir are worth havimg a conversation with.

I hate to break it to you. But most high rank survivors are potatoes. Most of the time I can't figure out how they got there.

I think I've seen it said by the dev's that rank (before changes) more represents how often you play rather than how well you play.

I believe their concensus is, you can be the best and most skilled killer/survivor but only play, let say, 10 games a month. Where as you can be mediocre/bad or part of an swf (potential to be carried by your team, rather than being objectively good, clearly not always the case but it happens) and potentially be rank 1 because you played 100 games but never improve or don't actually have skill.

So rank is kind of meaningless to a degree in almost all online gaming. Unless you have the time ranks can be unachievable no matter how well you play.

Apparently if I play only one side, that mean I have no idea about anything on the other side, and because of that, i'm not allowed to have freedom of opinions? Even though you always go against the other side, and it's a good idea to learn them? I'm not saying that a person that plays only one side knows everything about the other side, but saying you can't have opinions through self-judgment?

So if I have an opinion of a movie, I can't actually have one because I have never made a movie before?

I doubt this is the vibe you're trying to go for, but the title sure as hell seems like Gatekeeping to the average internet person.

Agree that an opinion can be had by all.

    However....

    Your movie analogy doesn't work.

The op would have had to have asked everyone to resevere comment until they have made a video game.

Playing the two sides of the same game isn't comparable to making a movie and watching one.

If anything DS needs a nerf. Make it so it doesn't work on grabs/lockers. Also if I hook you, you get saved and I hook someone else. Your DS should deactivate because I wasn't tunneling you. Too many people get in the killer's face because they have 60 seconds of diplomatic immunity. They DS to piss off the killer and when they get caught again they rage quit because the killer "tunneled" them.

You forgot rage quitting because of being slugged, knowing that the killer is going to wait the 60 secs and then hook you.

What you described is basically increasing the time for the survivors' objective (because they can't "work" at the start), therefore giving the killers more time to do their own objective.

That doesn't conflict with what I wrote.

    It doesn't and it does.

It does not speed up the killer or slow generator repair speed. it is a nerf to early game for both parties, promoting a cat and mouse game and hopefully enhancing the experience. (although that's subjective)

I don't think a direct nerf or buff to eithers ability to complete there objective is needed and will more than likely polarise the player base.

    What I'm actually suggesting is

Survivors can't do generators, but can do totems and search boxes. Killers can attack players and inflict status ailments but can't hook.

I get you're boiling down to the basics but the only real objective for survivors is do gens and escape. for I killers it's sacrafice. So it's either slow down gen repair (already enough killer perks to do this) or skip an injured or hooked state (mori's already exist and are proof that survivor would not like this sort of change) . That's the only way to speed up killer or slow down survivor objectives. Both are just a survivor nerf, realisticly speaking.

What I'm suggesting does not directly affect the mechanics of either side just delays the "gen rush" or "face camping" at the start, possibly adding an interesting early game dynamic.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

The problem is the amount of time the survivors need to get their objective done vs. the amount of time the killer needs to get their objective done.

You can solve the problem either way: increasing the time for the survivors' objective or decreasing the time for the killer's objective.

Or alternatively have hooks and generators locked for x amount of time.

Gives everyone a chance to get an idea of the gen/totem locations. It gives set up killers time to set up. First 30 secs to a minute would be more intense as some killers would stalk, some set up and some would start hunting. Survivors wouldn't end up camped on hook in seconds and killers wouldn't get gen rushed. survivors would either need to use stealth or hide at the beginning making it more survival based.

  • Isn't there a 4% chance to unhook yourself? If so the solution is to remove the health loss for attempting to unhook yourself, start the the % chance to 10 and slowly reduce it every failed attempt. You will eventually change hook state as your health degrades on hook anyway and you would have a genuine chance to unhook yourself without a perk. Temporary immunity to damage if you unhook yourself but the only time you can be mori'd?

Could self sacrifice on final hook?

I like the style of the new auras. I can agree it looks les gamey and more immersive. However they are way harder to see i more situations, they also are worse to see for peope with vision issues. I think they have a good thing going with the style but they should make them easier to see IMO.

I don't even think they are "less gamey", polygonal shapes like that literally used to make up game characters and worlds. If anything they have become more gamey! Looks like low resolution tron.

Slugging is a tactic. Especially when there's only 2 left. Some builds revolve around slugging. Nothing wrong with it whatsoever. Entitled survivors cry about it.

    Agreed.

Slugging is a game mechanic where by a killer hits you and you enter the dying status slowly bleeding out, helpless as the killer looks on or leaves to hunt another victim.

DCing isn't a game mechanic and adds nothing to gameplay either tactically (hatch dc isn't a tactic it's a loophole) or as a role-playing/immersion scenario. Although sometimes as players we do have to accept that a certain amount of DCing will be a genuine loss of connection (power outages and the like)

I don't really main a role, I started playing this game because of my love of horror movies.

I accept a killer should seem op and sometime feel like they come out of nowhere, as for a large part you are dealing with supernatural entities, and that there will be games I'm out of in seconds and killers that will ensure I die by face camping, slugging or moriing me. I also accept that sometimes a survivor is going to "magically" get away from me and escape, using ds, dh, a key, a flashlight or finding the hatch, body block, pallet blind and other allegedly "scummy tactics". Also I expect either role to run meta perks/builds if they have them, why wouldn't you if you set to to win?

You should feel helpless and on edge as a survivor, wondering where, where and how a killer will strike and as a killer you are supposed to feel the frustration of the escapes! If you go into a game understanding what it is trying to simulate you generally have a better time.

I don't think a killer or survivor vanishing from the game world is a design choice. It's simply an unavoidable consequence of online play and using a complaint about anything within the confines of gameplay mechanics or tactics as an excuse to disconnect it just foolish.

nah my dude, they both are linked to each other, if you fix or increase gen speed you're basically buffing camping and tunneling.

    What about you accept facts

A killer can't tunnel four survivors at once, only one.

Whilst tunneling or camping one survivor 3 gens get completed, 3/5 or the objective where as one tunneled/camped survivor isn't even actually 1/4 of the killers objective! They are not comparable.

Tunneling and Camping realistically favours the survivors. Yeah sucks for one but ensures the killer is in one area of the map so the rest can gen rush in safety and there is no guarantee that you will kill the survivor they have one hook.

This is at the top of my wishlist with The Shining trailing closely behind when it comes to future chapters. However, I think more people are familiar with Jack Torrance and The Overlook then they are with The Master and Salem's Lot.

To me, this is one of the scariest possible killers that can be added to the game. The Master would be the first and only vampire in the game. There's lots of potential for survivors, with Ben, Mark, or Susan.

A Salem's Lot map would be incredible with the Marston house either being part of it, or just sitting in the background overshadowing the rest of the town that would be the playable map. I would definitely prefer if the house were at least partly accessible.

Overall, I think this would a great addition to the game for the sake of adding something that actually feels SCARY. I would love to go more in depth about this but I'm just not sure anyone will be as interested as I am being that Salem's Lot doesn't have as much popularity as some other horror classics.

I don't 100% agree with this. Part of the survivors' power is to prepare for the match, and discuss a plan together before heading directly into a trial. "Hey guys, I'm bringing plunderer's and Ace in the hole, I'm gonna gift you items" = I don't equip an item and put on a coin offering for that other survivor, just as an example.

What I think should happen is that survivors get a brief period of time to prepare and discuss a game plan (75~90 seconds or so), and then they get locked in automatically or when they all hit "Ready", and then the killer gets a period of time to set up their load out in response to what they see the survivors have before they are automatically locked in or they click ready, and then the match starts as usual.

I think that would be the most fair way for both sides to go about it. Allows solos to talk and prepare, and gives killer a chance to respond and customize the killer. Some killers (especially Hag and Wraith) need to worry about some set ups and customize appropriately, because flash lights can be a big hindrance to them both, and keys in general can be a big hindrance to all killers, and if you see 4 toolboxes, you might want to consider a gen slowdown perk, or maybe using an Oak offering.

I don't agree with the sentiment of "survivor's power" being the ability to prep with each other in the lobby!

As survivors you are not supposed to be able to draw up a game plan with each other before or during the match. The game does not have it's own team chat for good reason.

The lore of the game (that gameplay is based around) clearly indicates that each survivor is alone until they are in a trial and alone until you find someone in a trial. You should not be able to coordinate perks or equipment or ever be able to speak to each other across a map! this is just entitlement.

If four survivors turn up with flashlights but no medkit or tool box we're supposed to deal with it or search for a chest and hope you get a different item. Sadly SWF with any form of teamchat is broken and clearly not part of the games functionality but is for some reason taken into consideration for in game mechanics when forming an argument for or against something.

I don't main either role, I play the shortest queue to get into a game a quick as possible. The only thing that puts me off about DBD is the wait times! So when I queue, I pick a killer or survivor and load out then I look for a game. When the game is found I hit ready. I don't change in either queue, I wait. If I'm playing, I want to play as many games as possible with the shortest wait for everyone involved.

I find that there is always a single survivor, in either lobby, that waits until the 5 second timer forces them into ready. Once you hit ready you are "ready", not unsure of what you are doing, not unsure of your perks and character you are ready.

No one should ever have been able to change anything once you have said you are ready because if you are ready you are in a suitable state for an action or situation; fully prepared (dictionary definition) .

Ash cut off his own possessed hand and fought an army of the undead while leading a medieval army. He wasnt exactly afraid either. Yet hes in game.

Not only that but fought his own mini clones. was downed, forced to swallow one which then grew out of his shoulder into a full sized evil doppelganger. Had to fight and kill his deadite possessed friends and girlfriend, got possessed himself. Had to kill a deadite possessed old women, hold off an angry ######### tree, kill one pit witch and flippy deadite, one possessed medieval girlfriend, either over sleeps to the end of the world or has to kill another deadite witch, punches King Arthur AND deal with customers at S.mart!

Sam and Dean have feats but actually hasn't prevented them from running and hiding whilst figuring out what to do and they often fail at what they are doing!

Pretty sure the likes of Freddy, pyramid head, demo and more are under powered compared to their movie/t.v counter part! Even with the homebrew killers! I'm pretty sure a chainsaw to the back should always permanently cripple you, if not kill you, equally with a samurai sword, a metal club et all.

So, I agree! Doesn't really matter if a character has certain traits in their media of origin, if they fit the game in terms of what they represent it shouldn't matter.

Freddy isn't anything like the film depictions, because of course that'd be unfair and he really can't.

No turning people into bugs and squashing them, or coming out of a TV, or any other number of really weird and wild ######### that he did because it was all in a dream.

Rather, you just chase people around and...put down snares? Kinda weird.

In the original nightmare on elm Street, 2, the new nightmare and freddy versus Jason he is not that sort of killer! (possibly the reboot too, which this freddy is based on)

It isn't until 3 they start using the ridiculous "dream deaths" originally he was a brutal slasher killing you in your dreams. Yes sometimes the kills have over the top elements (most notably jonny depp being pulled into his bed) but they weren't killed by your dream they were killed in your dream. So actually he is accurate to original and reboot.
