Does it happen rarely? Sure. But the punishment for a random blip isn't a big deal.

If you're up to 48 hours, that's not the result of a random networking issue. You're either intentionally disconnecting or pretending that your unreliable internet isn't the problem.

Buddy I'm not over here taking up for the OP. I lost connection the other night for the first time in probably 3+ months. Being punished like you're one of the bad guys sucks, which is what I originally meant. Sorry if you took my comment the wrong way.

I didn't even know the DC penalty stacked like that, I figured it was a set penalty for every time someone DC'd. And yes I agree, if you're banned for up to 48 hours then something is wrong. You need to either take your lumps and finish the round like a man, or just quit the game completely if a certain killer/map/what have you, bothers you that much.

I don't mind the DC penalty, grinding it out during the hard times will only make you better. Quitting and leaving your teammates out to dry because you got you knickers in a bunch is a sissy way out.

Good. I want it to affect people who have unreliable internet and have trouble finishing a round. I don't care if you did it intentionally or not. I just want you to stop, and a DC ban will help you make that a priority.

I do not want to play with people who DC, for whatever reason. You ruin the game for everyone else in it.

If your situation is such that you frequently DC, online games are not for you.

    You seem angry, miserable even.

Did I say I have trouble finishing rounds or frequently DC? I said it sucks when it happens, which isn't that often. I have Comcast and my internet connection is always good. I'm not over here using a hotspot and playing from a damn treehouse, but anybody who says they haven't gotten kicked because of a Network/connection error is lying.

That's the thing, if you happen to lose connection because of your internet, you won't die over a max of 5 minutes.

But if you let it come to a whopping 48 hours, you definitely did it on purpose. If your internet or power fails on you 4-5 times in a row, then look at it first.

They only got 48 hourse because of disconnecting on purpose (maybe one or two times internet or power outage).

I'd like to know how they got 48 hours. You don't get 48 hours for nothing unless someone hacked it onto your account.

Interesting. I didn't know bans stacked like that to be honest, I figured there was a specific time set for every DC/connection lost.

The amount of DC's to lead to a 48 hour ban...damn. Talking about quite a few...

  • The thing that sucks about the DC penalty, is that it affects people who lose internet connection, the same way as people who actually quit/DC. Now I know people are gonna say that there's no way to tell whether someone lost connection on purpose or accident (which is understandable), but it's still frustrating.

I lost connection earlier in a game against a nurse and had to restart the game and the penalty remaining was like a minute and a half. I wasn't happy about the bloodpoints I'd lost during the game and then being penalized but I just buried it inside and moved on.

Now a 48 hour ban? That's way too excessive. I mean is that a legit ban or a glitch?

This is probably the most bizarre thing I've seen as killer so far. In the lobby, I noticed they all had ttv names and I checked their streams. They were all on comms with each other, had 2000+ hours each in the game (2 of them had over 4000), the usual stuff you see.

I loaded in Badham Preschool II as Slinger. I downed a Kate pretty quickly, hooked her, one of them dc's, the Kate then dc's. The Steve and Feng then come and find me to point at the hook. I figured everyone wants this game over. I hook Steve who dc's while on the hook, and hook Feng who dies instantly.

I went into one of their streams to ask: Why did everyone DC?

Apparently, they only DC when playing against Slinger. The reason being, "he is unfun to play against". Now, don't get me wrong, I completely understand where they come from when saying this. It's near impossible to react to Slinger's ADS insta-shoot, and you can gain distance on him simply by holding it up. But then they said he is "unfair". This is where I disagree and I think most will too. Is Slinger strong in a chase? Yeah, there is no denying that. But he is evened out in his insane lack of map pressure. He's a 110% move speed killer with no map pressure. They were all comms together, one of them had Prove Thyself, it would not have been hard at all to gen rush me (it was a Preschool map so it was large).

I watched the stream for another game just to see what they behave like, and it's honestly quite pathetic. They went against a Forever Freddy (Swing Chains, Jump Rope, Thana, Dying Light, Sloppy) and said that THIS game would be more fun than a Slinger. They proceeded to gen rush a Forever Freddy with the Prove Thyself.

My question for everyone is this: What do YOU think about Slinger? Is he fun to play against? Is he fair to play against? Do you think DC'ing against every x killer you play against is pathetic behaviour, especially on stream?

TL;DR 4 salty streamers on comms DC'd solely because I played Slinger who is apparently "unfun and unfair", but Forever Freddy is acceptable.

I'm brand new to killer "literally just started playing killer for the first time two nights ago" and I decided to play with Deathslinger. The amount of DC's and players wanting to turn every match into farmville is insane. No matter how serious I want to be, there's always that one (or several) goofball(s) that throws in the towel or DC's after being shot or downed, which ruins it for everyone else.

Did you killer mains experience the same when starting out? The pic below is just an example. I decided I wanted to try and test the waters as killer...and at low ranks it has been quite an experience. ๐Ÿ˜ถ

  • It happens to me probably 3 out of 5 matches. For what reason? idk.

It doesn't make me mad, but curious as to why more than anything. Whatever the reason, I don't let it effect my play-style. Maybe they've had a bad day, or think I'm part of a toxic swf. Doesn't matter, I just brush it off and move on.

  • Not related to the situation but DC related...

I had to disconnect two nights ago and felt pretty bad for it...but I kept getting invisible skill checks?? I would get the sound notification but no skill check and the generator would blow. This happened several times before I realized there was nothing I could do about it.

    Anyone else encountered this?

Play scratched mirror myers against her to get her acclimated to jumpscares

A few nights ago I went against a silent bell Wraith, with the "All seeing - blood" add-on. I got whacked and damn near shat myself, I kid you not.

  • This was an idea for solo queue I had several days ago. Could be one of those deals where it sounds better in your head but, I'll share anyway...

I pretty much always play by myself and agree it can get pretty frustrating. This is just a thought, and it's probably already been mentioned before, but what about a pre-made, in-game command system (no voice, just text). Something that you see on a lot of first-person shooters? Maybe have 3-5 (or however many), quick, easy to toggle command options. Maybe #1 says "Complete the objectives!", #2 says "I need healing", #3 says "Power exit gates!", etc. For instance, depending on the command a slugged player selected, you'd know whether or not they have unbreakable/adrenaline and don't need healing. A small text with the players name, would let you know which player(s) sent which command.

The pic below is just something that I quickly found on google, but with a pretty similar concept. Does anyone think something like this could help solo survivors...or is this a dumb idea?

  • DBD is the only game of its kind that I've ever played. I only hate that I found out about it years after it was released and have so much catching up to do, skill and knowledge wise.

The only thing that I wish DBD would implement, is a way to keep track and view personal stats. The same way most first-person shooters do. That would be neat, imo.

  • Very sorry to hear this, but I'm glad she was able to go peacefully. I hope she lived a great life.

My dad passed away last year and I had to bury him on Fathers Day. Lost my grandmother 4 months later.

Don't beat yourself down and feel like it was your fault. The loss of a loved one is a part of life, it's something that we'll all be faced with at one point or another.

  • I'm quite the opposite, tbh. I play serious in solo que, because I don't wan't to seem like a complete sausage and let my teammates down.

Back when I first got the game, I would play with my brother, little cousin and a co-worker of mine. We would have a few beers and laugh at each others mistakes and move on. It just didn't seem as stressful. They don't play anymore and I've been solo for about 7 months now.

I'm pretty used to it by now, but it's nice to see others that can still enjoy themselves in solo.

  • I've seen Otz, TrU3, Tofu, Umbra, Pug, PainReliever, Ralph, etc...

But I've never seen anyone as good as FunGoose. The guy is the best killer and survivor out there. I'd take him over anyone. Check out his Twitch and youtube "rap God" content. Dude is insane.

  • Clown, Wraith and Trapper.

I always seem to do horrible against Clown, despite him being considered one of the worst killers. Wraith and Trapper keep me paranoid the whole time.

This sums up how I feel going against Trapper:

I think the main reason for not seeing it as often is that solo survivors never see the toxicity of a 4-man swf.

I have the exact same experience, playing killer I see a lot more teabagging.

Having said that, it's hard to keep track of other survivors behaviour when you are busy doing gens. So maybe it's just easier to spot when playing killer.

This is pretty much how I feel as well and think solo players like myself get treated like crap, because the killer assumes us solos are part of a toxic swf.

Had a Leatherface last night repeatedly hit my body on hook several times before walking off. He did this every time I was hooked...and for what? I never t-bagged, didn't DS, didn't have unbreakable, etc. This behavior is pretty common in the solo games that I play.

  • I work 3rd shift so I only play on my nights off, which is maybe twice a week. When I play (I only play survivor) it's generally for about 5-7 matches. I might escape maybe twice the entire time as solo which kinda burns me out quick. Maybe having friends that played would make it less tense/frustrating and more enjoyable, but 90% of people are asleep when I play. I like the game but I can only play in small doses.
