  • Let Otzdarva know. He loves doing these challenges. Then he would post a video I'm sure.

    My pick: Clown

    1) Corrupt Intervention

    2) Lethal Pursuer

    3) Overcharge

    4) Whispers

While the first 3 are common Whispers would be an interesting addition to the build.

In his defence... he can't read :( but he's got the spirit!

But he can point! If it was a chase he would tell you which direction to choose from to mindgame. 😄

  • Lightborn is a must and it can do wonders. Sometimes the bullying lies in the fact that there is always one survivor chasing you (while you are chasing another survivor). They want to do the save but it is useless so that's a wasted time. If a tactic fails they have to switch up which gives room for error.

Committing to a long chase with a single individual is always an option I preferred. When I see it is SWF I do one long chase. I don't give all of them the opportunity to make fun of me. So, imagine you are getting better at such a chase and eventually win. The last gen pops and you down the survivor. I don't allow them the camping fest. I stand back and let them do the save by nodding. Eventually, they also nod and we are all a happy family. Of course not, but it's worth the try. I don't let them practice camp save with me.

  • There is nothing more aggravating when you bring a BNP with a rare toolbox and you don't have the opportunity to deplete them!!!

As for perks: I love Blood Favour and use it almost always with Nightmare. When someone spots the totem immediately at the start of the match and cleanses it...

The fact people say this ( I agree ) should be a wakeup call to the devs.

This is ######### your co workers say when you have a week off WORK. Not a videogame.

You can take some time off when you are addicted. An example would be World of Warcraft. I'm sure it happens elsewhere, too, the reasons are just different in DbD.

  • After 50 prestiging immediately would be fine to be honest. It is rare that I don't have 20K to do it but when it happens it's pretty annoying. 😙

  • Enjoy your time off!

I know that this sounds childish, but I really hate it when survivors stand at the gates waiting for the killer, just to get downed straight into an escape. I know that you won, but I don’t see a need for you to waste the killer’s time. I just say gg and move on, but apparently many people don’t have that same mentality. So I propose an idea to make survivors think twice before taunting the killer at the gates. I think that if you make it so when you down a survivor, the gates are blocked for that survivor for a few seconds, allowing the killer to pick them up and take them to a hook. This could prevent bming at the gates and instead actually make games go by a lot faster, but it’s just a thought.

But downing is followed-up by hooking the individual which means the remaining survivors can start thinking about how to save. It is actually a very interesting (and often rewarding) part of a match. And toxic in case you can't save - god forbid the survivor is "high pres" meaning they are "entitled" to lecturing you.

Taunting is annoying when all 4 are at the gates and you know you cannot do any sacrifice anymore. This is where blocking would be lovely. A simple algorithm that checks how long players stand just before the exit line. Not just block it but make them all exposed.

  • I use the add-ons that cause broken and item drop. Basically, one acts as a Franklin's.

  • By new update you mean the healing nerf? Even with stronger healing you are not supposed to regularly heal when you face Legion. If the player uses Frenzy frequently (instead of ending it midway during a chase) and if there is no tunneling or camping a match with the Legion can be long. Long means a lot of BP on both sides.

  • Yes, hatchets from Huntress tend to do that. It's just how they work.

This team, on cornfield, while I'm learning Slinger and listening to Texas Hippie Coalition. Sometimes you've already lost and don't even know it until the end. Got like 3 hooks total.

What are you supposed to against something like as Slinger? That's an honest question because chases took forever and they out ran my dang spear. By endgame I was just like "Yep, they got it, I'm gonna go break palettes"

This isn't a shame post I'm just genuinely confused as to how you play Slinger when everyone is far faster than you in basically every chase and you don't have the ability to attempt a quick scope.

This was probably a 3-member SWF. Notice the similarities in skills and how the 4th person doesn't belong there.

I wouldn't worry - you are still learning and Slinger is not an easy killer to learn. Also, Lightborn is a must and it's funny reading the comments when they came with equipped flashlights.

It's horrible people need to be like that.

I do see a lot of people say the the DBD community is very toxic. I've just never played another multiplayer game so I had nothing to compare to. I was playing TCM over the weekend and I saw toxic crap there too. Few times I was called the R slur. Someone was using the N slur in another match. I really enjoyed the game but TBH it turned me off wanting to buy it when it releases. So happy DBD doesn't have VC.

TO pick up on what @CorvusCorax86 wrote. I noticed this with TCM too. The games I played during the day were fine. It was the night games where I had the people I mentioned above.

    What's a TCM?

Nighttime is important due to the 100% bonus for me. Sadly, our best bet is to turn off chat and look for SWF signs in lobbies.

Listen, I personally love unbalanced stuff, absolutely love it (That is why I play Trapper very often). I love unbalanced things that make a fun experience for almost everyone however having the ability to blow through 3 gens in under 4 minutes with corrupt is unbelievable, BNP are not fun for anyone as it makes the game short and lame for both the killer and the survivors without allowing tension to build up due to sick plays.

I seriously do not mind toolboxes in the game, and other OP things however I find it unbelievable that something like this still exists.

Many other things in this game should also be removed COUGH Tombstone Myers I am looking at you buddy, as it promotes boring playstyles that don't add to the experience of one of my favorite multiplayer games, Dead By Daylight.

I would also like to mention that I know every has already heard this statement probably a million times now however I think it is a good idea to encourage the devs to take a step in the right direction with some good old critism.

TL:DR - BnP make the game a worse experience, they are not what I classify as "Fun" unbalanced like Trapper being weak asf but fun to get sick traps off, etc.

I would like to hear more: What is your general opinion on Trapper? I rarely see this Killer. How do you find most matches (those without BNPs)?

  • @Fawiola said:

I had yesterday one match against Spirit. She played fair. She wasn't camping or tunneling. She didnt have a kill in the end and we we're all at the gate with her. The other survivor teabagged her and left and I stayed. For me was not important to escape. I had a funny match and good chases.

I gave her my medkit so say thank you for the match and she was happy. Then I ran to the hook to give her a kill. As she hooked me she run around circles to show me how happy she was.

But I also think she was happy because killer rarely sees something like that.

We should be kinder to each other.

    Very nice gesture from you!

Yesterday I had a match with Oni where I couldn't get a single kill. Just as the last gen popped I capture a survivor and hooker her. I climbed up the hill near there to see as they saved their mate. I was nodding as they were approaching. I just didn't want that silly campfest for 1K only. They played well and fast. I also engaged in a long chase which was a mistake.

They thanked me and granted additional hooks during the end game collapse to ensure I got some more points. In the end I thanked them and in the chat they said they understood as BP was always needed for everyone.

To OP: This is typical for nighttime matches. During the day endgame chat is mostly blank. In the evening I turn off. Also, as the anniversary is approaching and we get BP for logging in there are more players. I see more high lvl people who are "entitled" to have this attitude after matches.

A fun topic, I’m burned out of dbd right now, even though I want to play it, everytime I’m on the menu I get bored.

how long does it take for you to get over the burnout of games before you decide to play it again?

personally for me it might take me half a year to a whole year

6-12 months here. But while being away I am following the news and I can come back sooner if there is a great chapter.

  • Well, at least she let you sacrifice her. For me giving up usually means DC. DC is a more typical reaction in such situations when seeing a specific killer. Also, she is P100 - the higher your pres the more entitled you feel.

  • These are some pretty nasty mories with disembowelment included... Wow!

I prefer the cleverer ones and there are many!

The amount of killers that are borderline unusable on console is a joke and I don't understand why we let this slide.

    1. Huntress
    2. Trickster
    3. Hillbilly
    4. Oni
    5. Nurse
    6. Deathslinger
    7. Wesker (though not the worst offender on this list)
    8. Nemesis (though again, not the worst offender)

Every single one of their powers have something in common, and that's that controller is locked behind sensitivity and as such, console players don't get to experience these killers in the same way that pc users do.

I don't understand why we're missing out just because of the system we choose to play on. We're paying for the chapters just as pc users are and aren't getting the full benefit

But isn't a controller better for the 360 loop? So at least survivors can play better on console.

I would get rid of perk tiers and just have every perk just exist as their tier 3 form. It would just make balancing perks less of a chore and easier to understand and obtain for new players.

    I agree with this.

and when everyone who is left is at the exit gate?

thats what i am referencing, not the strategy that actually holds game play value.

    It's to annoy you.

  • For me Red Forest is the crazy level with the many pallets.

  • Sounds like a great idea. I lost interesting in AHS around season 9 but the actors you mentioned were mainly regular in earlier seasons.

  • And I just had one where Cenobite downed / slugged all of us on Lery's and we couldn't do one single gen. "What a waste of good suffering" it was.

  • It's difficult to factor that in when you win a chase (as per the feedback from the game) but your killer decided to abandon you because you are nowhere near a gen. Or if it's, let's say, Legion you are facing who always looks for another target. In such a match you "win" a lot of chases.

  • I never understood the criticism towards Haddonfield. Yes, there are houses but there are gens you need to protect as a killer, right? I never go upstairs as a killer. And as a survivor, I consider a map a loss.

  • That's quite a lot in 10 matches. Also, 2 killer DCs? Weird.

  • Underrated: Wiretap. Great, especially on levels where you hear the TR but the chase is happening downstairs or upstairs. You see the aura of the approaching killer - everybody else flees because of the TR but you can keep on working on the gens. I love it!

Overrated: Adrenaline and pretty much everything else that activates when the last gen is repaired. On the killer side I find them annoying but only when a team is already strong enough.

  • But what is important when it comes to the killer?

Its looks and approach to gameplay. Skull Merchant was too human-like and people usually expect a monster. Wesker et al. are exceptions due to being licensed content.

Then comes the power itself. The knight considering its approach (medieval theme) was great but not everybody likes when you hold people hostage by focusing on 3 gens only.

  • Personally, I have no issues with the threads being about complaints as long as there are recommendations or proper explanation. Also, this is a much better forum than the one on Steam which is full of toxicity. People immediately check out each other's Steam profile to see how many hours were invested in DbD and decide if the comment is acceptable based solely on such numbers.

I have been an avid fan of DbD ever since I started playing it back in 2021. My complaints are mainly related to toxic people - kids being rude that are here to compensate for something. And to be honest when you manage to find their Steam profile and see they have VAC bans (often in multiple games) that says a lot. But we can't filter and our best bet is to do reporting.

  • Depends. If it involves someone constantly running towards pallets and dropping them I engage.

If the team is not that fast this can be a miracle when it comes to later chases.

  • @Hex_this said:

My only issue with this map is how orange it is. It makes it hard for me to see quite literally anything so I struggle to navigate it. Other than that I don't think it's a bad map just hard to see.

Coloration is definitely an issue. I hope it will soon get reworked.

  • I wouldn't say they make my eyes bleed... I just find some pretty ugly (especially Backwater).

  • But you just confirmed it was with a combination of other perks. Which proves that for it to work effectively you need a build. Also, let the abuser complete the gen in Ormond (in the main building). Not all is lost when the rest are available.

  • I like the poll but how do you factor SWFs in?

  • Greek mythology. Why I haven't thought about it? A Medusa would be terrifying with the ability to slow you down. Her gaze stunning you would be OP so a slowdown could work.

  • We can't know this for sure until the new killer is released. The majority of the feedback is positive. Will it be a gamechange? Perhaps. Or perhaps even with the new killer complaints will be made and the playerbase will decrease or stagnate.

One thing is for sure: the roadmap clearly indicated they intend to keep releasing new content in every season.

    1. If they are always on drones, they are not on gens. Besides, the fact that SM right now can place a drone as soon as a battery is pulled off has similar vibes as kicking Victor. Kicking Victor should be something survivors want to do, but kicking Victor benefits Twins. Holding Victor hostage on a locker isnt something survivors should want to do, but it is by far the best way of containing Victor. SM has a similar issue, survivors shouldnt want to work on a gen with a drone nearby, but sitting on a gen with an inactive drone is the best way of getting it done. Getting rid of the drone and keeping the battery as long as possible is something that is really beneficial for SM during chase but detrimental to her drones, instead, neither option matters for SM, both are beneficial as destroying the battery through a pallet vault gives her an instant drone to place.
    2. Its not really a punishment. The drones are meant to be pressure for 4 survivors. Having pressure that is meant for 4 survivors when there are only 2 left is simply overkill. Is Pig punished the longer a match goes forward because she runs out of beartraps? No, she loses them because it would be an insane amount of pressure once people start dying off. I'd call it more of an oversight.
    3. I wont consider it too big, right now it's already the size of an average jungle gym. But right now, one of the issues for survivors is not the detection range, but the distance between 2 drones, especially on smaller maps. Besides that, it also has the benefit that Skull Merchant will have more pressure on bigger maps too. Survivors not wanting to approach that area would be the exact wanted result on bigger maps, while on smaller maps, deactivating 1 drone would mean reducing a ton of killer pressure at relatively low cost.

Without these changes, 3-gens will be "fixed" to be more managable for survivors, and a lot more killers rely on 3-gens. How will you differentiate between 3-gens that killers like SM and Knight can force vs 3-gens that survivors caused by fixing the wrong gens? Fixing 3-gens to be managable that even SM and Knight will have trouble keeping them forever will mean that a killer like Myers, Trapper and Clown will be entirely non-viable to play. Fixing SM and Knight to reduce their 3-gen capability and instead force them to switch focus based on survivor interaction with the killer ability is a lot more healthy.

In fact, I wouldnt mind if SM bloodlust timers were halved if she chased someone with a battery, to me that makes total sense.

I'm not familiar with the Twins and number 3 I already addressed.

As for 2: Pig's traps require action. You cannot avoid them. Drones can be avoided unless it is an absolute must to turn them off. The two killers are not comparable.

  • Somebody else note how the "top" players come out of hiding to cash in on the BP event and, of course, to look down on other players. Just noticed it in a match where we lost against a skilled Doctor and I was referred to as a bot. Interestingly, easily had the highest score. The toxicity during the event reached a new height.

  • These add-ons only work indoors. Otherwise people just make fun of a slowly moving Myers. Definitely a great modifier to a killer adding a unique playstyle. It secured many a wins for me. Hope this will never get changed.

  • We'll see. I'm more interested in seeing it in action after the PTB. It's always good to get initial feedback but let's wait till next chapter.

  • I need those basement challenges done.

  • It is as if you were saying skill is only related to the maps themselves and nothing else matters.

Garden of Joy is like Ormond: you need to decide if you want to focus on the gen in the house or let it go. I mean the main buildings not the shack.

Size definitely matters: If GoJ is reworked similarly to Eyrie it will be match better.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

I doubt. Nurse players are usually skilled. They can be tunneller but i did not see camper Nurses so much.

She has no broken camping play like Bubba. Maybe Huntress can replace with Bubba but not Nurse.

There are some, unfortunately. They stay far but relatively close to be able to hit both survivors at a hook as soon as possible.

But we will go from face to proxy camping in my opinion.

  • She has a great Xmas sweater so I was using her during the holidays a lot.

  • Nurse. Tried her once then said "ah, not worth it". Then returned and suffered the same experience only to realise that a special ultra-rare add-on actually takes away the 2nd Blink. With that out of the picture and another added instead that shows the landing location the learning experience there and I was happy to make progress.

I retained Trapper for various challenges only but I decided to try and win the games and managed to do it. I remember keeping them (especially Nurse) at a very low prestige but decided to increase their level.

I can also concur with what you said re the Artist. Lost many matches but using your crows to put survivors into the dying state is a very rewarding experience.

    • Due to DH and medkits being reworked the killer experience is more rewarding in SoloQ. SWF remains the same.
    • As opposed to the above updates due to the increased focus on gen progression you may often find killers that tunnel / camp right from the start. While Bubba is still Bubba players with Nurse or the Spirit go for the same survivors to ensure a win via the easiest route.
  • It depends. In certain cases they are not productive but on their end the excuse is that they are doing a challenge. Many require you to be alive and escape (if all else fails the hatch is always an option). I'm fine with the stealthy option but don't overdo it as it is the 4 of us that need to work together in order to win.

  • Thanks a lot! Great list!
