Yeah we've all been there, hanging on a hook, watching three people at opposite corners of the map, each assuming someone else is going for the save. Then you enter Struggle =/
I'd help my friends, too! You know a SWF is going to be swarming for saves, unless one is confident they can make it. But a lot of SWF are just peeps hanging out together, they're not gods at the game just playing with people they know. The comms help, certainly, but a lot of them do it just to have fun.
I see a lot of solo players are really good, and they don't go for saves much either, since they won't want to risk a death on some rando who died in ~10seconds like I do. It's more fun if you pretend you're in there to die, so that the killer doesn't get abused by the Entity. At least I'm helping someone out. (I kid, I make saves all the time and sacrifice for teammates, but I have trouble when pallets are scarce near end-game and don't know what to do).
-
It would be more like 10 seconds, since that's about how long it takes to catch someone who just dropped away. And we already have Ruin slowing down our skillchecks. I know it's not quite the same, and there is a problem with how fast the game goes sometimes, but that's kind of why the game is uncertain. You don't know what's going to happen when you load in, which makes it exciting in a way.
Maybe Billy did deserve those kills, but maybe they deserved to escape too. I still don't know why Kate didn't die but she should have in that clip. I like the concept of MoM that activates only when you've been hounded by a killer and also the great drawback it comes with (if you aren't a good runner like me, you rely on avoiding the killer's gaze).
It seems pretty balanced to me, since it let me survive only a few moments more when going for Ash's Adept achievement. I think it helps exceptional players the best, but with the tactics most killers use perks are almost meaningless, making BT and Kindred the top-2 in my opinion. I don't even heal anymore, Legion/Plague why bother? Maybe my experience isn't the same, and it's actually a problem I don't realize, but that clip didn't prove it's broken to me (other than the chainsaw bug) in which case an extreme circumstance caused it to make an amazing play in the basement that otherwise wouldn't have been possible. Dead Hard would have had the same results, legitimately. I'm sure there are plenty of times people took a hit and went down moments later anyway. Yeesh, staring at this wall of text I apologize I felt the need to explain my position. Don't worry, I'm sure they'll change it after all this outcry, like everything else. I really don't see it staying as-is for long.
-
Some pointless nerf, like always. No idea why this is such an outrage but they'll get the point across, and MoM will be almost useless. I don't use any perks like that so it's no problem for me, but a lot of killers seem to think it's so easy for survivors because of all these second-chance things, but it really isn't when you don't run anything like that. But I guess that's my problem and not theirs.
-
Take it as a challenge? Don't be bitter, some killers can't do good against 4 solos, so consider yourself ahead of the curve. It really is quite hard (and unfair) to play and do really well against 4 highly competent players anyway, so it's not your fault or a reflection of your skill. The game just isn't designed around having all that info and coordination. At least you'll get some points in a potentially quick match?
-
Probably because you aren't seeing her burst out of a closet at 3AM when you return home, drunk.
You're not home when you wake up o_o
-
I've wanted Spine Chill at the top since I got the game! I keep it in first slot but it's always random in the match >_<
-
It's not supposed to work on chainsaw. It also doesn't work if you're full health, say if NOED is in play. You'll go down anyway. Does this video prove it's such a huge deal? Billy already got one kill and there's still a gen left. Now, there's two injured survivors nearby, and if they heal they'll be visible. Are you suggesting he'll never catch them, no matter what? Granted the saw hit was bugged or something, but... the game is still going, it's not the end of the world. Although that was a clutch basement save using the perk, I'll admit. He should have had that Kate, I'm sure it's just a bug.
-
1960's Hippy Doctor but Madness is an Acid Trip instead.
-
I've done that! You're very slow and can't catch many people, especially patrolling gens can be hard. No Mend = No DC in my experience.
I've also played Trapless Hag before the speed boost, so that was fun. And a Doctor who only uses Punishment to test his speed. I got thanked for giving people achievements (since they don't enter M1, I think).
-
What's the problem with the hatch? You still got three kills and won. Know that they wouldn't have escaped at all without a free hatch, so at least there's that.
-
Yeah, I see a lot of probably intentional DC's in my gameplay. People who see what map it is (Coal Tower? Really? Maybe they had Wiggle bug) but people who last all game and then die at the end, DC right away for no reason. You miss out on those points. Is it to stop killer from getting full points? If so, why? Take your points and try another match.
I'm afraid to attack anyone in the beginning because they usually DC as soon as you pick them up. There are still plenty of chances and I'm an extremely fair, easy killer to beat. Don't screw your teammates just because you were standing in the open.
Although I have the problem lately of spawning within killer TR. It sucks. I take three steps and it's pounding away, five steps and I'm getting attacked. I'm a bad player I can't deal with this =/
-
^ Are we supposed to take the word of someone named 'The Molester?' Heh kidding, but that sucks. Survivors aren't always altruistic toward each other, like when the heartbeat starts up and you hop into a locker, then instead of running or hiding, they stand there pointing. Go away! I'm trying to hide here. Don't sell me out because 'lulz, locker jockey." Dwighty has the camo 'n everything!
-
Six more seconds of chase, then an attack. Only if they're within gate range can they use it to escape.
-
I see killers at high ranks 4k all the time. I don't know why people think you need Billy/Nurse to get kills; anyone can get them. Clown shuts down any looping with bottles & Bamboozle, slowing them down as well. Plague can make you Broken in a matter of seconds if you keep vomiting. Not every survivor is an expert at this game.
-
Please don't forget that many of us are on lower framerate ~_~
-
Yeah some of the licensed survivors are from movies, but not the ones you would have wanted, save for Laurie. Imagine if, instead of her, it was her babysitter friend or something. You'd be like "Who's this?" And what's that guy from Freddy? Oh yeah, no one remembered him (they couldn't get the main girl's license).
For me, Ash isn't from his new series. He's from the trilogy of amazing that he put out years ago. They're seriously classic movies. Also he was in Darkman.
How about (and I know these have been mentioned before) Sydney and Ghost Face from Scream? Ripley from Alien? MacReady from The Thing? Sarah Connor and The Terminator? Even if they killers themselves don't fit, maybe some of the survivors would. We're still waiting for Pumpkinhead. I still think it's such a great fit for this game, and as a lesser-known series it shouldn't break the bank.
-
MoM is far from a powerful perk, as it has trigger conditions and a significant drawback. Dead Hard is more powerful and still only a single dodge per chase, with killer speed and Bloodlust, it usually only saves a few seconds of their life.
I took it off once I got Adept, but the only time it worked for me was a basement save. I mean, it got us out of the basement, not out of the game. It's not like it opens the hatch early or something.

@Well_Placed_HexTotem said:
The only buff it needs is one it’s needed for years, and that’s better totem placement. Guess that’s impossible though.
Going by your name, I see this has been an issue for you a long time now! Hehe
-
The perk is far weaker than already-existing perks. Are you afraid of it? Have some pride as a gamer and give it your best.
-
How about a "Tangerine" look-alike instead? :3
-
Yeah it's a huge IP, so it would be expensive to get. I'd buy her, though ^_^
-
Feng, Kate, later Jane and Spirit.
-
I find escaping a killer far more stressful than chasing survivors around.
-
Who has a problem with BT? It only activates on campers. People only run it to counter that behavior. It adds 0% to user's chance of escape. I'm sure they'd much rather use something that helps themselves instead of another.
-
Yeah I love it. I was surprised and it was a nice addition. I love Bruce's lines too, adds a bit of flavor to the game. Not everyone needs to speak but it was awesome that we got such a cameo addition.
-
Wouldn't you rather have BP?
-
We all want the game to be fair for everyone. The potential is so great, but if game after game is lousy, unsatisfying and unfun, people will leave. We don't want that. We want more players, not less. We want the game to be successful, and fun most of the time. Like with sports, you're (hopefully) having a good time, even if your team is losing. Because you're still trying, still fighting the other team. If people are making the game miserable for others, players will leave, and the game will die.
I'm not suggesting to tip the balance toward survivor, in fact I think it should be the opposite. Disregarding SWF I think the survivors' game should be tense, exhilarating, and downright frightening in regards to a scary, immortal killer they can't fight and can only flee and hide. However it should be done with a system in place to give them a chance. With camping, tunneling, and teammate farming, there is no chance. Even Tag has rules. Now you can engage in this behavior if you want, no one can stop you, but it shouldn't allow you to rank up easily, and for everyone's benefit I don't believe anyone should work toward getting people to leave the game, survivors included. Constant griefing of the killers who can't hit you beyond a pallet isn't helping. Try playing from the other side to see what it's like at a decent rank sometime.
There's a person on the other side of the screen. Please behave with respect and dignity, even when winning. We're all in this together, and we need to support the game and not sabotage its future. Perks can help sway things to a better place, but they shouldn't be more than band-aids. I'm working on some ideas but that's a topic for another time. Thanks for reading =)
-
I can appreciate not wanting to go against SWF, really, as I often get 4 escapes vs. solos (I'm bad, but fair). They're right in that most wouldn't play against them, leaving queue times a nightmare for people, especially teams.
I think the best thing would be to buff or compensate Killers against SWF. Even just bonus BP for facing them would lessen the sting of the challenge. Maybe make them a little more powerful, or reduce the hook time, or... I don't know. I'd say 'something balanced' but balance in this game is a slippery slope and it's not nearly as easy as people think it is. I definitely think Killers should get something against 3-4 teams though.
As an aside, I'd like an in-born BP bonus for killers who are far from hook when someone gets rescued. BBQ doesn't work if people camp, and they do, so some natural incentive to give them a little breathing room would do the game well. Before gates are powered, of course.
-
I think an Alien is too 'alien' for the game, no pun intended. I mean we get humans who are changed or corrupted, not outright monsters. An alien would be weird, and would it have a map? A sci-fi type area? That wouldn't really fit, right?
Now, Pumpkinhead on the other hand...
You could even get Lance Henrikson as a survivor, that would be cool.
My two dreams for this game are Pumpkinhead as a killer and Feng Min with that rabbit-ear hoodie we were shown a while back. The clip is in my profile but I don't know if it's official or just some concept from a fan.

=D

It might be due to his Stalk ability. Looking around and suddenly finding Myers standing there staring at you is one of the most iconic moments in the game. Every other killer approaches, or decloaks, or roars to surprise you, but Michael is silent. Watching. You don't know what he's going to do, but you know it's not going to end well.
And then the jingle plays...
-
I don't mind people not paying for content they don't want/need, but if you straight up don't like Bruce Campbell get off of this planet.
-
Let me try.
"Legion's weak. You can hit the Survivor three times and they still don't go down."
-
"Be good."
-
I too hate the struggle mechanic after so many years. It's wearing out my hand and I die occasionally even though I was hitting it. Really tired of that. Wiggle is wearing stuff out too, but I don't know what to rebind it as. Would it be too strong if it were automatic? Or, you press a key to toggle it on and off?
-
There was a prop Medkit in the background of his video, and they handed him a prop flashlight haha.
The man is an international treasure.
-
I just got Legion in the sale and they're super fun to play, at least for me. I even tried a match without using the power at all. Took forever to patrol the gens! If anything, they should just reduce the time it takes to Mend Wounds, especially since most Legions run it with Sloppy Butcher, Thanatophobia, maybe some Meyers perks thrown in, it takes five min to stop that. No point healing, turning it into a one-hit killer that can vault as fast as you.
-
Yeah you can't run, it really sucks. Happened to me.
-
I'm actually trying to get it on my Bloodweb now. Since Plague released, I haven't been healing, I take Resilience and I enjoy the 9% bonus a lot. No Mither would just lock it in for me to practice with. I'm terrible at juking a killer so I really do need to work on it. Might as well make myself a target... Tenacity isn't going to hurt either!
-
He had to record screams and grunts, didn't he?
-
The DC's and the potato teammates who do exactly nothing.
I'm not the best myself. I try, really. I sneak around, I do gens (and love my job), I perform safe hook rescues unlike some people and I always try to help teammates escape, even at the cost of my own life. I don't expect this of everyone I'm just saying I really try.
But lately, I encounter from both sides an alarming number of players who simply won't "survive." People die on hook, after the full time limit, because nobody bothered to go rescue. Doing gens? Nope! Full patrol indicates not a generator has been touched, with still four to go. And then you hear birds on a closet...
What are you people doing? Even if you're bad, try! Try to escape! That's the point of the game. It's not fun for you to do nothing and wait. It's not fun for the killer if you won't even play. Same if you just run to a hook and point, like you want to de-rank or something. What for? Killers mostly behave terrible at every rank, so what's the point?
All I want is for people playing this game to play this game. Yet I have to solo fix four gens so the last guy can get the hatch as I die on the hook to unlock it? This is frustrating. And with last patch, there are a lot more 3-man games. Which hurts.
Caught within 3min? DC. Legion sprinting over? DC. Not your favorite killer, or someone of actual skill? DC. Take the death and keep trying. I see people play all game, approach a hook with the gates powered, and they DC for... some reason. Take the points! You played a full match, just die and take the points, give killer their points, and we all can go to another game and try again. Isn't that what gaming is about?
-
Cannibal came with some pretty powerful perks, and he didn't have a survivor.
Read: No one survives Cannibal
I know that's not true, I just wanted to make the joke.
-
^ That's appropriate, Bruce is the Leader, after all.
-
Is he stand-alone DLC? I'll buy him either way, I just wondered if there were a killer as well. Probably not, right?
-
If you don't get one within a few minutes, back out and try again. Lately as killer, I get 3-person matches as well as the infinite lobby where there's three but a fourth never shows up. Just try again and usually it'll find something.
Unless you've been doing that, and still nothing. Then I don't know what the problem is.
-
I think survivors should seek out totems more, since you see them running by all the time. But there seems to be a new epidemic of survivors running around the whole match doing nothing. I've never encountered this before. They circle the map over and over until the gates open, and then they escape without even checking the safety of teammates. What is this? Why even play, seriously? You could at least keep an eye out for Ruin or something, geez.
I also encounter a lot more bird lockers. What's the point? And when you find them they start running, indicating they aren't AFK. As if they don't know the birds will show up. Why are so many people griefing games? They don't perform hook rescues, they don't repair generators, how are they even getting any points at the end of a match?
-
It's pretty close, with both sides having perks that should never have been added to the game. It was supposed to be a tense horror experience.
-
New idea: Sacrificed survivors return as ghosts to irritate the killer
:3
-
Yeah, I miss the quickie game queues as a Survivor. Rank is meaningless anyway on Killer side since most of them tunnel/camp every match and you get farmed out of the game within minutes of your first hook. The risk of a low level killer getting a high level survivor is always present, especially after a reset. You generally find that the player's rank on any side doesn't reflect their experience or skill in the game.
-
Some maps, like Shelter Woods and the new one, seem to have very few pallets. There are plenty of spaces where it seems like a pallet should be, perfectly positioned to have one between them, but large empty spaces where there are only a few trees/rocks (or ruins in the new map) that you can only last so long in a chase. I'm not that good at running forever, and with Scratch Marks, Bloodlust, and the fact that killers move faster than me, it can be difficult. Guess I'll have to keep practicing and "git gud."
