I actually like this idea, the ability to sabotage, but not destroy the hook. The % of sabotage will significantly increase the chances of the hooked survivor jumping off. I would see this only working on the first hook, but at the same time, if you can just free yourself, it would reduce altruism overall. Plus, very few killers actually "respect the 4%" and will just down you and put you back up.

It would be neat if maybe a noise alert happened in game for the killer when the game recognized noise or communication by a survivor over the mic. It would make it slightly more risky to talk at times like a chase o while needing to hide, so,survivors could, only communicate when they are already safe without alerting the killer.I also love the idea of them implementing a 5 way voice chat that goe sup in volume as you get closer to a survivor. I have no idea how complicated that might be, but it would be awesome to hear survivors talk when you’re close by them, be they communicating to you as another survivor or when you’re nearby as the killer. It would add more intensity and tactful playing. I think it would be pretty exciting if you knew the killer heard you the closer her got to you.
But then, if you add the risk of getting caught while using voice chat, SWF will still use Skype or Discord because there is no risk to using those.

-
Questions:
- What range would a normal survivor voice be heard from? Would it be heard from anywhere or just close by?
- If range is limited, what would be used to communicate with other survivors? The technology in the game is extremely basic, the most advanced thing I would say are the generators.
- Would survivors be forced to forego a Med-Kit or Toolbox in order to hold a communication device? How long would the communication device last?
- Would the killer be able to hear survivor chatter? Would Stridor enhance the audible range of survivor chatter? Can killers talk to survivors?
- If the killer can hear, it could make bullying much worse for the killer or, toxic survivors could sell out other survivors in exchange for freedom. What about survivors using the voice chat to be annoying? Or to play non-stop music?
Pros:
- Ability to communicate with other survivors (privately?) and increase survivor efficiency.
- Would bring solo survivors to the same level as SWF.
- Survivors would have extensive map information (killer's whereabouts, totems, generators, items, etc).
- Survivors can balance perks and items in the lobby.
- Mute stupid people (not really a pro, since you already can't hear stupid people right now).
Cons:
- Toxic survivors would abuse this.
- If communication is not private, it would reveal a survivor's location (free Whispers for the killer).
- Survivors would use it to have irrelevant conversations.
- Voice chatter could drown out in-game noise, like the heartbeat.
- Some people with mics can either be unintelligible, or have a language barrier.
- Some people don't have mics or just don't want to talk.
- Would make certain perks (for killer and survivor) worthless or have less value.
Overall, this is a mixed bag for me. I currently don't have a mic, and even if I did, I would only use it to share vital information.

There is many ideas as a way to nerf selfcare. I originally proposed that we buff the self care healing speed back to normal and then instead of the selfcare being a complete heal it puts you in a no mither state. You dont drop blood, you still limp and your grunts of pain are heavily reduced and you still go down in one hit. This effectively makes it a good enough heal cobbled together with what you find in the environment until you can get proper medical attention. In addition to that i would buff the selfcare medkit healing efficiency just enough so that you can get 2 full self heals out of a brown medkit. This in effect encourages players to make trade offs. If you want full self heals without other peoples help you need to bring a medkit.
Intriguing concept, like an EMT attempting to prevent the injury from getting worse until a medical professional is able to treat the injury (in this game, other survivors). It would be strong enough to stop the bleed out timer, but not enough to fully heal yourself. Similar idea to recover, where under normal circumstances, you cannot fully do it by yourself. Self-Heal with a Med-Kit would still allow you to fully heal yourself.
-
This is like saying "Leatherface needs to be removed from the game because people who play them camp a lot more than the other killers." Blame the player, not the character.
If Laurie is removed from the game, all those DC'ers will just choose a new character to play, and just DC regardless.
-
The hatch is not meant to be a guaranteed escape. If the killer is camping the hatch, just go complete generators while he is busy staying still. You'll just need to adapt to the circumstances. If you and the killer arrive at the hatch at the same time, wait for the killer to swing. Even if he downs you, you can still hop into the hatch during the cool down, and they cannot grab you.
I just want to give you a better chance with future hatch plays. Regardless if you are venting or not, several killer mains are going to come in here calling you "entitled" or that "the hatch shouldn't exist." Just ignore them and hope you have a better experience next time.

If it was actually only the obsession can use it and the rest of the survivors get a wasted perk slot then I could agree with this because it is an OP AF perk and deserves that sort of treatment.. it would be an actual high risk high reward sort of thing........... but that doesn't mean I won't be happy when the intended nerf comes into play... and lets be honest if the devs would only make the killers strong enough to handle 4DS we wouldn't be in this situation but instead of doing that we get killers like freddy and wraith.... spirit is still up in the air but shes tilting toward the weak sideI agree where only the obsession should use it as advertised, but I disagree where the non-obsessions would have a wasted perk slot. I think the perk just needs to work very differently based on obsession status.
The skill check hop-off-the-shoulder mechanic would only work with the obsession. For non-obsessions, allow a one-time longer than normal pallet stun while the killer is carrying someone (easy enough to counter, just don't walk through pallets unless you have to). For obsessions, this perk would remain a self-help perk. For non-obsessions, this perk would turn into a rescue perk. For non-obsessions, reduce the stun duration by 2 seconds (giving the obsession the primary benefit), so:
(normal stun time - killer stun resistance) + 1/1.5/2 seconds
-
What kind of build do you recommend? I will be keeping No Mither III and Resilience II.
Available perks:
Dark Sense I - most of the time I don't pay attention to where the killer is when I finish a generator.
Dead Hard II - like I said, doesn't always work.
No One Left Behind II - altruism is very risky, and most games I play don't even see all gens complete.
Premonition I - I would like a "killer alert" perk, but I'm not sure how effective it is.
Deja Vu I - I like seeing where the 3 closest generators are, I would attempt to prevent the 3 remaining gens from being in the same corner of the map.
Plunderer's Instinct I - I don't really care about items or add-ons right now. Most games, I don't escape anyway.
We're Gonna Live Forever I - again, altruism is risky.I will eventually be leveling up David some more, I want to get enough blood points to get all of my characters at least to level 10, then start to level up the survivors to unlock their teachable perks.

My current build is No Mither, Resilience, Deja Vu, and not sure what to have for the 4th one. I used to use Dead Hard, but I've had too many instances of pressing the button to activate it and nothing happened. I am currently at Level 15 for David, so not much going on for perks and no teachables unlocked yet. I would definitely want Tenacity when I get there. Perhaps Bond to replace Deja Vu?

I don't know. But Lisa Sherwood is not an African name, which is why I assumed she was African-American.
It's an old English name as I've pointed out before. Large parts of Africa were colonised by the British Empire.
Hm okay. I have never heard of an African with an English name. An English first name, sure, last name? Nah. Unless they are South African.

I really think the Wraith and the Hag should have their countries specified. It is weird how every killer and survivor have specific countries they are from, but Wraith and Hag is just African. As if the continent is just one big country.According to this speculated post, the Wraith came from Nigeria. We know he came from a country with a lot of crime, and Nigeria is rated as one of the more corrupt countries in the world.
https://steamcommunity.com/app/381210/discussions/13/350540974002304429/
As for the Hag, it's probable she isn't from Africa itself, but still of African descent.
Voodoo's foundations come from several tribal religions still practiced in West Africa (mainly Benin, Togo, and Ghana). Voodoo as it is today originated from Haiti as many Africans were brought there. Currently, it is estimated 95% of Haitians are of African descent. This means the Hag could be from either Africa or America (Caribbean)

What he was trying to say is that wiggling has a defined speed.
It doesn't matter if you wiggle slowly or quickly, the wiggle bar will always take 16 seconds to fill up completely.
That is to avoid macros being abused. If the wiggle speed was determined by how fast you press the keys/buttons, it would be possible to create a macro that presses them much faster than any human, filling up the bar very quickly.
My issue was pressing the keys, but NO wiggle progress was being made. Master has already helped me resolve the issue, I just needed to slow down on the key presses, and since then, every key press has helped fill the meter.

Maybe, but he looks more like a white/asian not white/black nor asian/black. True, a lot of the Doctor's in-game files point to the fact the Doctor was originally going to be Chinese (to coincide with Min), not sure why they changed that.
Check out the official wiki I was shocked when I found out too Nah, someone made a mistake, obviously. Even his WIP name is Chinese.
Why are you hellbent on him not being African American Because I'm racist. Is it what you would like to hear? Seriously, because he is not. With same logic you could argue, that Spirit is not Japanese, but black. WHAT. ARE YOU RACIST?
You are forgetting something sir, the words Work In Progress. They probably planned for him to be more Chinese based but changed it last minute for some unknown reason. Maybe the felt the acknowledgment on his teeth would be seen as a racist stereotype for Asians so he black now.
Where do you see he is black?
There doesn't have to be evidence, hell you can barely tell the Wraith was African. A character can have inspiration but that doesn't make the character.
That is not an answer.
Wraith can be black (although at frist I thought he is Mexican), but Ojomo is a popular African surname. Also his tribal skin with candle on the head is quite African, and you can see that his skin is black.
If we are speaking about the Doc, he is based on a Chinese urban legend, or something familiar, and his WIP name is Chinese. His face looks somehow Chinese too. We have more proofs, that he is Chinese-American, instead of black. Why are you so hellbent on him being an African-American?
It's just a matter of "the official wiki said..." which can be changed, you know. The Doctor's "official" bio (in-game) mentions nothing of his race, so for all we know, the wiki could be lying.

It takes some time to get used to the killers' powers. When I was first playing Claudette (with Empathy), I got confused seeing a red-ish aura coming towards me. I initially thought it was an injured ally (didn't register injured allies show up in yellow and red when they are downed), but it was the Wraith uncloaking. It was a nice jump scare. A more recent match with a Wraith, he kept chasing me while cloaked, but I was able to see where he was and try to keep him busy (I ended up failing).

I see. I think Freddy should be able to injure, but not down awake survivors. I also think Self Care should not wake you up.

All survivors that relied on gentapping as a crutch instead of learning how to hit skillchecks would go insane after this gets implemented. Ofc the devs will never consider that^^I'm a survivor main, and I recognize what a scummy tactic this is. Gen tapping, or click spamming should have no benefits at all, and in some cases (like click spamming a flashlight), should actually make it worse for the person doing it.

u know how when u fail a skillcheck but keep going. the progressbar doesnt increase for like 2 seconds..
how about that being default. heck u can remove 2 seconds off of the total repair time for all i care. but make it so survivors arent able to gen tap and still get progress. minimum time of no progression should be the equal ammount of time till a skillcheck can be triggerd and failed. a second longer would be even better..only other fix.. skillchecks can happen the same millisecond that u start working on a generator. with skillchecks becomming more frequent at that time the more times u started working on a generator.
this is easy possible.. if u chose not to do it. its just that. ur choice. ur choice not to balance this out.
Agreed. Gen tapping is such a cheap strat I have seen to completely ignore killer perks. Either progress begins after a full 2 seconds of starting repairs, or no progress until a forced skill check towards the beginning, similar to Overcharge, but as a regular skill check.

Yeah tell me again how the survivors counter black ward.
It’s bs that Franklin’s can Counter White Ward when the killer doesn’t have to worry about losing his/her add-ons when they have Black Ward.
Maybe because they lose their items everytime except when they run Ward, and Survivors almost never lose their items?
Franklin's, Noed, Nurse, Billy, small map etc. The killer can run ward and never ever lose that item. The survivor can run ward and loses it with Franklins and or a dc. Since the game assumes you got Franklin's , w/e At least when I've run White Ward and a killer quits I still lose everything because the game does it that way.
With that logic killer should not lose his items, when he wins, it would be fair (survivors don't lose them, when they win) but oh, it does not works that way.
I think I've seen instances where killers were able to keep their add-ons, but I could be wrong. They should keep their add-ons if they win.
They lose it everytime.
If you have, let's say 20 of X addon, and 10 of Y addon, and you use them both in the match, game will save that addon combination for your next game.
So you will have still the same addons in the next game, but in the inventory, you will have 19 of X and 9 of Y addons, instead of 20 and 10, respectively.
Ah, that's probably why it looked like they kept it.

Also not 1000 IQ, but I saw an entire live stream where the guy was doing Insidious Leatherface "for the lulz," and it's amazing how many quads he got when he wasn't even trying. He was doing it because Leatherface was his lowest level killer, and with how many quads he got, he got to level 50 in no time.

It is very difficult for a survivor to stream snipe a killer, unless they happen to search everyone who streams at the time they are in the lobby (but why go through all that effort?)
Agreed names should never be shown ever since I've had so many games where it's obvious the killer is stream sniping it's not even funny. The killer should always see characters but that's it.
Maybe don't have tv in your name?

None of the streams I've seen sniped had TV in the name, but yes, having TV in your name doesn't help at all. Some streamers even change their gamer tag for DBD to avoid this, but sometimes, people still find a way to snipe.

Right now survivors always keep their items and addons when they win, but killers don't.Wouldn't it be fair, if:
- 2 escapes/2 kills - both survivors and killer keep their items
- 3 escapes/1 kill - survivors keep their items, killer doesn't
- 4 escapes/0 kills - survivors keep their items, killer doesn't
- 0 escapes/4kills - survivors don't keep their items, killer does
- 1 escape/3 kills - survivors don't keep their items, killer does
I think killer add-ons should have x-amount of use in minutes. I think 10 in-game (during a trial) minutes is fair, and there would be generous overlap, such as if the match begins right before the 10 minutes are up, the killer will still be able to use the add-ons for that match, but are consumed when it is over. Under normal circumstances, that is at least 2-3 games with the same add-ons (assuming 4-5 minute matches). Killer DC should automatically consume add-ons.
As for survivors, I think it's slight cheating for a survivor to almost use up an item (have like 1-3 charges remaining), and escape, the next match their item is like brand new. I made a thread in this regard, with the item rarities being tied to charges only (items across all rarities have the exact same benefits), and if a survivor almost uses their item, the item converts into the lowest rarity version.

I literally ran into the same camping Hag 3 times today. I really hate short games, wish I can avoid this person somehow. I understand how you feel but then again some people might just duck and dodge killers that literally do what they have to do fairly (which I find hypocritical because killers do this all the damn time with certain survivors they don’t wanna face)
If you run 3 times into the same killer, then there might be not enough killer players in your region.
Just saying.
That and or time of day is a big reason too, early am PST around 2-3 am you'll have the same 2-10 killers or so and the same 12-24 or so survivors playing. Now granted this is around ranks 1-3ish during those time frames on PC.
As far as names neither side should see names at all, killers already dodge based upon items and names, we don't need survivors doing it as well.
Maybe names yes, but no profiles. Killers need some kind of advantage. Since they are in a disadvantage in every aspect of the game.

Ghostface was actually "leaked" by DBD as a prank to throw people off their newest killer. Before the Hag was revealed, a daily ritual showed up for her, which then spoiled the new killer at the time. To prevent the same mistake, the game teased Ghostface (complete with a daily ritual), so that people won't know that the new killer would be Leatherface (which incidentally was when Kate Denson was originally going to be introduced, but she got delayed). His ability was called Imitate, which most likely would have allowed him to take the appearance of a survivor (since multiple people have been Ghostface). This would have not worked at all in a 4-person SWF, since they would know if a survivor they don't recognize come up randomly.
If you have ever seen or heard of Secret Neighbor (the multiplayer version of Hello Neighbor in closed beta), basically features a group of kids, but one of the kids is actually the neighbor in disguise (don't ask me how a full-grown adult is supposed to disguise as a small child). I imagine Ghostface would be a similar concept.
And, yes, Sidney Prescott would have joined him.

But there is an easy solution for your problem. Simply exchange SC with another perk if it bothers you so much

Saw a video where SC almost prevented a hatch escape when the killer was right next to it, so I understand the OP's critique.
SC is another perk I see as either for newer players, or survivors that have no trust or confidence in their teammates (which I totally understand given some matches I've played). Pharmacy I believe is a much better perk than SC. Also, SC should not be able to wake you when going against Freddy.

If there was just a limit on how fast a gen could be finished that would solve some problems. Right now the issues are toolboxes and the ability for survivors to gang up on a gen. If you have 4 survivors with toolboxes on a gen it will be done in like 20 seconds. That shouldn't happen. Besides the fact the bonuses from this stuff should be toned down, there should be an upper limit to the speed a gen can be repaired, no matter how many survivors or toolboxes you use. That limit should be something like 50 seconds. Luck already works the same way, in that if a whole team used UTA with salty lips they should get >60% luck but the max is 48%.Obviously BNP might need another rework, which all BNP should do is make great skill checks zone huge, almost unmissable, but at the cost of using the toolbox faster. Then it would be a sort of hard counter to Ruin, but not so ridiculously powerful that it just breaks the game.
In a vast majority of spawns, generators cannot be worked on by 4 survivors at once. In most instances, the generator is blocked on one or two sides (and rarely 3 sides). I think only the Coldwind Farm maps provide generators that can be worked on by 4 survivors at once. I am sure there are others, but I can't think of them immediately. Perhaps alter the gen spawns so that each generator is guaranteed to have at least one side blocked? Increase the chances for 2 and 3 sides to be blocked?

I disagree with Clown and Leatherface. Clown is one of the most original ones and resonates so well with the character. And Leatherface, the scream at the end is Leatherface's signature.I would say:
1) Clown: The skull cracking makes me feel really disturbed sometimes, extra points for that. The finger sucking is basically his character and really portrays the survivor as an actual victim. And him keeping them as trophies.
2) Hag: Obvious reasons.
3) Doctor: Its especially good while seen from the Survivor's perspective. The Doctor leaving his weapon and charging up his hands and torturing the Survivor to death. And the smoke that comes out of the person's eye sockets at the end, lol.
4) Nurse: That caress and closing the eyes of the deceased at the end is a perfect touch. After that, Leatherface, Spirit, Huntress, Freddy (props for the close-up to his claws at the start though), Pig, Trapper, Michael, Hillbilly, Wraith.
I've never heard the skull crack with Clown, but if it was there or at least more audible, that would make his a better one.

What is kindred 3?
Kindred reveals survivors to each other when you are on the hook. Kindred III reveals the killer if they are within 8m of the hook.

What's mori spamming? It's where the killer clicks to start the Mori animation, but cancels it, much like a hook rescue can be canceled. In the case of Mori spamming, it is 100% toxic because there is no reason at all to do it. Just kill them and move on.

Sometimes saves are made, believed to be safe, when the killer is hidden nearby with Insidious. Other times, the rescuer has Borrowed Time.

Killers aren't broken. Some of them need major reworks, like Freddy or Leatherface (I'm not counting Wraith since his rework is coming soon). Some need tweaking like Pig or Trapper. Only one killer comes to my mind that needs a nerf the rest are either fine or need buffs.
The pallet system was terrible before and its nerf was completely deserved.
The only perk that the Exhaustion nerf made useless was Vigil. In my opinion, every other perk was fine and didn't need the nerf except Sprint Burst. That was only the true problematic one.
Flashlight saves are harder but not impossible. Position yourself better and get used to the changes.
Survivors aren't unplayable at all. Just get better.
Dat moment when Lithe shouldn't have Exhaustion. Please play some Killer dude.
Point out where they said "Lithe shouldn't have Exhaustion." Of all the Exhaustion perks, Sprint Burst was the biggest problem, like they said. They did not say Sprint Burst was the only perk that should have Exhaustion. Maybe you read too much into something that wasn't said.

I think it's just like the guy said in the video, the devs just don't care. It should be up to us as a community to not emulate those toxic behaviors. Those survivors gained nothing from being a jerk to him. He had a pretty good attitude through it though.
