Unbreakable..
Imo the actual amount of times survivors get to use this ''top tier perk'' is very low and it's not that good to run it all the time.
Don't get me wrong, if the killer slugs it can be of use once. But that's it right? Get slugged & use it once. I know you get the recovery speed still but then it doesn't change much if that's all that's left of it. Unless it's a tenacity & power struggle build, I just don't see it.
Second this.
You can get 20 matches in a row where a Killer isn't slugging. It's so dependent on not only being slugged, but the Killer leaving you on the ground for time to recover, and then being far enough away that you can get up and have a chance of not being insta-downed. I've had one experience recently when I was running it and it saved me )was slugged near the exit, Killer went to hook someone else and I escaped).
That scenario just doesn't happen enough for me to run it all the time.

I see you didn't actually understand.

reality doesn't change because we want it to. we just get a wrong perception of it because of our biases.

I really don't know why you think X killer attracts toxic people, it's all just biased personal observations. You are looking for X killers being toxic, so that's what you see.
Yeah it was personal observations, and I was asking if it was different for other people.
Holy crap I never realized it would make people this salty. Maybe I can get a Mod to close the thread, I wasn't expecting people to take it so seriously.

Just wondering, I too had some observations, noticed that people from west countries like Canada or America tend to put labels and categorise people quite a lot, so I was wondering. I assumed you were american, but missed a tiny bit.
I assure you that Canadians and Americans can be quite different. I don't necessarily like categorizing, I'm just making conversation, sir.

This feels kinda accurate. I'd move Oni to the "big salty meanie" list and ghostface to the "chill killer" list tho
90% of the time, Onis, Myers players, and Freddys will slug and camp. I get that it's part of their playstyle (myers and oni) but is the 4k really that important? Did you really have to slug me in front of the open exit gates and pick me up everytime I got too close to leaving?? (An oni did this one)
Plague and nurse players have been the nicest in my experience. Maybe because it's hard to win with them if you don't know what you're doing? Idk
I've had a lot of Oni's drop me at the hatch for some reason (maybe they have a soft spot for Grandpa Bill). With Ghostface, I continuously experience them hooking a survivor, going a few paces away behind a rock or tree and stealthing to wait for the unhook.

Because apparently I hate myself.
Kidding aside, the few times I have a good match, where all the random team mates I'm placed with try their best, or when I play Killer and it's just a good fair game? It's really fun. I also enjoy the silliness when people aren't taking it too seriously.
The other 95% of the time, as stated by others; must be masochism.

Usually when I’m killer and I know there’s a Claudette in my match I go for her first if I can. Otherwise I will never encounter her on gens or unhooking teammates. She’s a drain on her group and I always feel bad for them. I can’t stand coward or lazy teammates so as killer I try to go after them and leave the survivors who are actually trying for later
Well, I mean reasonably there are different people behind every Claudette lol.
-
I'm a Bill main. It's true I try my best to save my team mates and be decent. I'm also never toxic to a Killer (because it's lame).
I love playing a 65 year old chain smoking war vet. Bill sounds SO done when he's injured lol. He's like "Not this ######### again".
I always play solo queue which is a gong show on a good day, and one match against a Demogorgon I had the worst team mates. I saved them constantly. Healed them- ran the killer around and they barely did gens. When I was on my first hook they let me hang there until struggle and when one finally did get to me they unhooked me right in front of the Killer (he wasn't camping. It just took them so damn long that he had time to wander around and come back). I limp and sputter off with my cigarette and 2 team mates get sacrificed (last hook).
It's just me and a Claudette left. The one who unhooked me in the Demo's face. I couldn't figure out what she had been doing the entire match because the Killer spent a lot of time on me yet no generators done. I keep trying to do them like a trooper (what else am i gonna do?) and the Demo finally gets me and I just give up LOL. At this point I'm just bored and I know the Claudette is just hiding waiting for me to die, and I know from experience she won't save me when I get hooked. I just feel it in my bones.
I just flag the Demo down and am like; "Just end this and let me move on, bro" (we were just playing hide and seek by that point). And when he picked me up, I didn't wiggle. I was so over it LOL. And the Demo was like..."Uh, Bill? ". He must have sensed Grandpa gave up because he puts me down., I see the aura of the Claudette and there she is, across the map; not doing a generator *of course*. The Demo waits a bit, leaves me slugged and goes off around the map. Comes back to me and sees she hasn't bothered to pick me up (I'm fully recovered at a pallet). I think Mr. Demo catches on that I had shite team mates so he goes off in search of her, finally gets her (and I'm living for it), hooks her and gives me the hatch.
I don't know if it's Bill's apathetic noises, his wheezing, his refusal to release his cigarette from his mouth even when he's on a hook, but it's true some people have a soft spot for Gramps.

The only dbd streamers I find entertaining are Ohmwrecker, who isn't the greatest player, but is funny, and CoconutRTS only because I love his Blood Warden attempts and how good he is with mediocre perks and add-ons.

Thing is, I tried. I really tried, and I know he's amazing. But he is just so DRY. Like, it's not funny or entertaining or anything. It's like watching wallpaper dry. Then again, I only tried 4 videos. Maybe I haven't seen enough?
-
Im relatively new to the game. but just came out of a solo queue match where a Rank 4 Freddy hook-camped and tunneled everyone. If he's such a powerful Killer, and has so many interesting advantages, why does someone at a high Rank do such scummy tactics on him?
-
I play Spirit when I play Killer (trying to, it's not as easy to master her as everyone says for me anyways). When I go against Spirit as a survivor I don't find her as bad as everyone says. Sure, she keeps you on your toes, but Wraith doesn't make much noise either when he's floating around invisible. I find the Killers who have one-shot capabilities more annoying (like Hag with Devour Hope. Or ranged one shotting Huntress with Iri-heads). Nurse when she can blink through walls and even up a floor.
Try playing Spirit in the Game after a few drinks. I bump into stuff all the time using Yamaoka's power lol.

Yeah, absolutely making sure that one poor person cannot get the escape they probably worked their butt off for because the killer wants to secure a kill they really didn't earn is totally fun and fair. I have no clue why anyone would ever complain.
What lol?
Going against SWF is a nightmare for a Killer sometimes. They have such a huge advantage it's downright silly. I don't feel they "earned" their quad escape when there are always 2 survivors on a generator while the rest are coordinating saves, heals - able to tell each other where I, the Killer am at almost any given time in the match; "He's on me! I'm leading him away from the shack, the gen in there is almost done, someone get on it...meet me by the tractor I need heals!..
..last generator is almost done, I'm going to need to see one of you at the gate standing by to open and on tea-bag duty, while I use this map to grab every last totem"
So the Killer manages to grab one of these people and hook them and "OMG unfair! Your don't deserve that kill!". Lol no.

Ghostface has become this for me...not because I find him super hard to verse, but because I find more people who play scummy as GF than any other killer. Things like I run directly at him after an unhook where he came back to check at the time I chose to save and he flat out ignores me in favor of the unhooked person kind of scummy play.
If we're talking "I just don't play well against them" then it's probably Leatherface...the very first game I went against him after his rework I did extremely well and I remember thinking "wow, I don't know what people were talking about when they said he was harder to win against now" ...and I've proceeded to be terrible against him ever since.
Second this. Ghost Face just seems to attract the most toxic players. That and Bubba. Myers as well, but the first two are the worst for camping and being general arses.

People's sexual orientation isn't political no, but the activism and organizations supposedly representating said people definitely are. And those Orgs create propaganda that absolutely affects how people think and talk about these things in the real world.

No usually there are not multiple threads with this topic. But from time to time one person asks for representation or speculates about a new character maybe being LGBT and then it blows up, because of all the people that „don’t care, but ...“, or „no sexuality/politics please“ etc.
it all started with when the devs confirmed they no longer exclude LGBTQ which they have unintentionally done in the past.
Well if the Devs have stated that, than case closed. People can whine into the void until they tucker themselves out. I think how this stuff is treated online is breeding toxicity and resentment on all sides.
Most people in the western world couldn't care less about people being gay. In the world of video games however, there will always be a loud group of tossers who have problems with anything outside of their basements. These are the same lot that give women a hard time in online Co-ops (I have a female friend who plays and she gets treated pretty crap a lot). There is no changing them, and they will always be there.
On the flipside, there are groups of militant, intolerant Rainbow warriors who find ways to take issue with just about everything. They treat the slightest disagreement or indifference as bigotry. Or dissect the most benign things as "problematic". I find they alienate decent, accepting people by constantly cramming their "activism" down everyone's pie-holes.
Anyways, I have the day off and I supposed I'll play a match or two and see how often I'm face-camped.
Side Thought: Am I the ONLY person who assumed Nea is a lesbian? Everyone I play with (and most of them aren't gay) just assumed that. She has that lesbian-chic style going on about her lol.
-
I'm new to the forums. Is there always a zillion threads on "LGBTQ"?
And once again as a gay person, just throwing my voice in to say I couldn't care less if DBD "adds a LGBTQ character". It seems like this is brought up daily, in multiple threads. It's not homophobic, or bigoted to find it irrelevant for a game like this.
Please don't judge us all by the loudest on the internet.
In other games, sure it would be nice to see a gay character sometimes so long as it's done in a natural, organic, non-obnoxious way. But idk, I'm getting concerned more and more that the constant bitching will actually make people more resistant to the addition of non-heterosexual characters in the future.

You suck it up and deal with it. You can't depip at the lower ranks, so you'll eventually move pass that balony.
If your team is bad, then learn to carry harder.
You can't change anything in this game except how you play. Instead of lamenting behavior that will never change, look inward and find ways to beat it.
BTW, I'm not defending it - I find hook farmers to be a scourge on this game that need to be punished harder. If we had less hook farmers, we'd have less campers - guaranteed.
Attack the real problem, not the result of the problem.
I understand what you're saying in theory, and in a perfect world, maybe it would be possible.
But there is no way to pip if team mates disconnect because they don't want to entertain a facecamper for the 5th time that day, yanno? And if there's only 2 survivors left and 5 generators, like that's going to go well. Maybe you'll get one or two, but both people left know in the back of their mind that it's going to boil down to a hatch match.
And I see this happening more often than even 2 months ago. Survivors in solo queue just think; "Oh not again- screw this." and bam~ D/C.
It's also pretty hard to pip if you just do gens. You get nothing for Altruism category, not much in the Chase/Bold etc departments.
But mostly I think we can all agree it's just a miserable, eye-rolling experience all around and unless a group of survivors is toxic as hell, the Killers are just doing it to grief the game and ruin a stranger's experience. Why else would a Wraith beat a survivor on the hook for the full sacrifice? Or Ghostface teabag while the rest of the team does gens and leave? They're doing it to be horrible to someone they don't know.
It would be nice if there was a way to report such unabashedly poor behaviour, but I know very well people would abuse it and report Killers when the Killers played normally (but did well). It's a pickle that way.
-
@FrenziedRoach said:
So? do the gens and outrank them. They only camp because overly altruistic survivors continue to reward this behavior FULL STOP
Train them properly and bore them to death.
Tell me, how do I communicate to 3 strangers I'm randomly paired with to just do gens? Telepathy? How does the first survivor who goes for the save KNOW there's a stealthed Ghostface or Pig crouching and waiting until it's too late?
It just happened YET AGAIN.
And 2 team mates diconnected as soon as they figured out what was happening and then it was just me and a Nancy left while this toxic Pig slugged her and searched the map for me.
I can't believe people defend and justify this behaviour. It's bizarre.

I know that, I've been seeing people call others out for being "homophobic" though. There has been some slurs thrown around but those are the real homophobes, otherwise the people who are just heavily criticizing this chapter as a whole are also being piled on and called homophobes as well. I'm not taking sides here to be fair, I'm only stating that people who say things like "this really doesn't fit DBD" are being called out to be homophobic which can be so silly and ridiculous.
As a gay person, let me be the first to tell you that you are NOT homophobic if you don't like this character lol. Don't worry about shite like that
-
Did you even read the thread?
It's SOLO queue. Unless someone is running Kindred, you're screwed. And even then, you're still screwed because some people just feel hopeless when the first two are downed so they throw the match.
I seriously just at this moment, finished nother match at Midwich School with yet ANOTHER hook camping Bubba. He finished with 4k and 11,000 BP- which is not much.
######### is the pay off? I'm a Baby Killer and I never camp. Like maybe during EGC if I'm against an SWF.
-
I just had a match as Solo queue survivor and after saving them all game, my team mates left me on the hook through struggle, until I had a HAIR of life left in me. They opted to do gens instead until they realized the situation was rather dire and they'd be screwed if they didn't have more hands on deck.
And yet we're all supposed to pretend that in Solo Queue survivor mode, they'll act like a well oiled machine and know exactly what to do in any circumstance like professionals.
-
@GodDamn_Angela said:
"You're good 'ol fashioned camping Bubba. 3 gens down, 3 survivors left, and yeah. This is how he wins his matches."
If he won this then that's on the Survivors, if he was camping like you are stating he was.
I personally don't have many issues playing Solo. Some Killers or teammates can be annoying but its almost always more chill and easy compared to playing Killer ever.
Oh come ON lmao.
"U must be lying cuz Bubba's never camp derrrrppp sumthin' sumthin SURVIVORS faultz".
The whole point, if you read my post, and subsequent posts ( and they are REAL short so you can do it!) is that when playing SOLO queue survivor, you often do NOT know a killer is camping before *it is too late*. UNLESS someone is running Kindred.
Thing is, you cannot control your team mates response to said situation because in solo queue, *you do not know or communicate with your team mates*.
As I said in my first post, in the Ghostface example, I was running Kindred and they were bright enough to do gens and escape.
At teh same time, I think many of us in Solo queue actually *feel bad* for these random people that we don't know. How crummy is it to wait in a queue, and lose your items/offerings/pip/rank etc because some jackass has decided he wants to stand in front of them for 2 minutes despite the BP penalty and what not?
Seriously dude, you will not see a greater defender of Killers than I, because I've been having a crap time with SWF groups. That doesn't make my OP any less sad and pathetic.

The devs have decided to be inclusive on their own free will, as they have already stated.
those complaining about it done wrong are mostly those that had a problem with it anyway. Don’t make everyone that’s just asking for equal treatment the bad guys here

What people want is for LGBT lore to be treated just like heterosexual lore, instead of being purposefully excluded, which feels forced. Is that so bad?
BHVR has already decided to do it without being pressured, so your "I've seen it happen dozens of times" thing is moot.
I've been quite clear as a gay person myself that of course it isn't "bad". But you're already assuming it has been purposely, consciously excluded. On what basis do you know that? Once again, most survivors have no reference to their sexual orientation in their lore.
If Behaviour wants to give it a shot, go for it. But I'm calling it right here, right now, there will be complaining. There will be articles written by woke journalists dissecting how the new character is "problematic" lol.
-
@Mooks said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1981351#Comment_1981351
Nurse, Felix, Frank and Julie, David. All have confirmed heterosexual relationships.
with Wraith and Ace it’s heavily implied in cosmetic descriptions.
all of this could also mean they are bi. We don’t know.
a very small minority is pressing though, and there is also a minority is is pressing against it.
in the end, explicit exclusion is not needed and the devs have already said that they want to be inclusive.
So what you and others want so vehemently is a snippet of lore on a survivor that states explicitly that they're not straight b/c there are 3 characters that have mentioned hetero relationships?
If I were Behaviour I wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole, and I'll tell you why; the small, vocal minority on social media that demand these things usually cannot be pleased. I've seen it happen dozens of times. A company gets pressured into being "inclusive", and they think "hmm, ok, we can do that". But it is never good enough. The mob will complain that it wasn't done right. That someone looks like a "bad stereotype", or "not gay enough". I'm calling it now- game journalists will analyze every pixel of that character, break it apart and find something offensive.
And God help them if they make a Killer 'LGBT'. I'm warning you Behaviour, don't even try it LMAO.
Honestly, I have no issues ( of course) if a new survivor just happens to be gay. It's just such a loaded issue these days with things being how they are.
-
@Unicorn said:

And thats the problem that most of the LBGTQ+ have. If its irrelevant, then why does it bother to others so bad that there is a member of that community in the game. I personally feel, that yes it may not matter but if it makes the LGBTQ+ community happy then why not?
'LGBT' people aren't a Hive Mind who all think the same way. We're different people with different thoughts.
Of course, if a survivor happens to be gay/lesbian w/e I'm cool with that. I just don't think it's so pressing all the time.
Like I'm reading other character's bio's now, and I'm through 3 of them and no mention of anyone's sexual orientation yet. How do we know they're all straight?
-
I'm gay and I get weary of the complaining from the "LGBT" community at every single game/franchise. I'm someone who plays this game because it's horror. I've scarcely ever read the survivors back stories, but for shiggles I just read Grandpa's (Bill Overbeck- I usually play him). Not one mention of his sexual orientation. He could have moonlighted as a drag queen in Vietnam in his youth and we'd never know, because it's just not very relevant to being trapped in a netherworld being chased by a murderous killer. So what does "LGBT representation" even look like in this game?
I think the constant pressuring of companies to be "inclusive" isn't doing us any favours. It can get rather grating imo, and usually a small handful of incredibly loud kids on social media are the only ones demanding it.
The last thing I want is to have is a character that's draped in glittery rainbow flags with a Lady GaGa soundtrack running in the background lol. It's a survival horror game. Your sexual orientation or gender identity is irrelevant as you're dangling off a meat hook. Just my 2 cents.

Well it does have that ghastly pink and blue shite going on...
-
Yeah but that's your mistake then. You took a wrong turn, or ran the wrong way and found yourself in a dead end. It's part of the game. I had that happen to me once in Mother's Dwelling when I was pretty new. I was running around the house, killer on my arse and I was learning to tightly run around corners and hug walls. Well there's one pile of wood that you can run behind until you realize it's closed off at one side.
My bad. Never did it again.
-
I play on PS4 and I've never sent a crap message to another player. But before I turned it off, I received some nasty messages from survivors post match.
I went out on a limb once and asked one if she always treated brand new players that badly. She replied "Only if they're on PS4".
-
That happened to me when I was trying to do a ritual with Huntress. I had never touched her before, so aiming the throwing hatchets was a circus. Of course, I loaded into Haddonhell with a team of Megs with purple flashlights and halos (always with the halos). And same- they were toxic as hell. They run around me with sprint bursts, blinding me, body blocks, *click click click* and I couldn't even get to a locker to reload axes before 3 gens popped. It was a horrible experience.
The only redeeming moment was when they opened the Exit gates and boom; Noed. Then I facecamped the hell out of one survivor as the rest of the hornets swarmed the map looking for the totem. The survivor on the hook d/c'd.
It's happened to me in a very similar fashion as I'm trying to learn Spirit. It gets to the point where I consider opting out of lobbies depending on how survivors load in, if they have halo, and .ttv in their names.
-
I started playing DBD in January and played survivor exclusively until the patch (where I lost all the ranks I grinded for because of bugs. Even last night I lost 2 pips b/c someone d/c'd before the match loaded). So I decided to try Killer.
As a survivor, I can't stand being tunneled, but being camped is worse. I started off playing Killer all noble and nice-like. Never camped (still don't), went out of my way not to tunnel. Often to my detriment. I thought to myself; "This poor guy is on his last hook and I've found him again bleeding everywhere. I'll just bypass him because feels".
That's when they obnoxiously start clicking flashlights, tea-bagging behind pallets, throwing firecrackers at me for no reason, body-blocking an insane amount, 360'ing around me to get me to swing around and just being general asshats. After the match I see they're all about 5-7 ranks above me. And I thought, *never again*.
The only time I'll be nice now is if a last player has shown good sportsmanship (which just equals not being toxic) and I'll let them go.
